Could I have vox x reader but the reader is like his secretary?(if not totally fine!)
-💜 anon(I think thad how you do it I'm not sure honestly)
VOX X SECRETARY 💜Anon
Hi! I really hope you enjoy this!
It was a demanding job, long hours, bitchy coworkers, and the worst, most disgusting clientele you could think of. But the perks? God the perks made it so worth it.
Sleeping with the boss wasn't too bad either.
What can you say? You had a thing for power, and he was nothing if not powerful.
At first you noticed the small things, light touches to the back or shoulder, less workload than others, and the most important one, he didn't scream at you like he did the others.
On a random weekday you found a small gift box on your desk. It was a V-phone, the latest model. Something that only overlords like him could afford. It was preprogrammed with only one number on it.
His.
You decided to test the waters and send him a quick message.
Thank you for the phone sir.
His reply was almost immediate, like he'd been anxiously awaiting your response.
Anything for my favorite secretary.
It wasn't until a particular day where Vox had come in looking extra tired that you decided to bridge the gap a little.
Are you feeling alright sir?
A pause, God you hope you hadn't stepped too far.
Are you saying I look like shit?
Oh no, you had to fix that fast.
No! You look great as always, you just seem a little tired.
10 minutes had passed with no response. You might as well start packing your bags.
Come to my office.
Ah shit, this was it wasn't it?
You stood up from your desk, brushed the imaginary dust from your body and made your way into Vox's office. It was big and intimidating, screens everywhere monitoring everything. Keeping his ever watchful eye out.
His back was to you, but as soon as he heard you approach he swiveled in his chair.
"Do you want to get drinks?" He asked nonchalantly.
You gapped, this was unexpected. You were on the brink of tears and making a mental plan on where you were going to work next, now he was asking you out?
The silence dragged on, you were too stunned to speak.
"Or… not if that makes you uncomfortable." He started to look nervous, was this really happening? You had to respond!
"No!"
"No?"
"No, I mean yes!" You took a deep breath trying to settle your nerves. "I would love to get drinks."
Vox instantly perked up, but he tried to play it off cool. "Yeah Val has been getting on my ass about work and Velvette has been no help either, I need other friends." He rolled his eyes, which made you chuckle. Who knew the great and powerful Vees could have such mediocre problems?
Vox took you out to a bar somewhere in the Lust Ring, it had a private booth in the back so no one would know you were back there. From there everything fell into place like perfect puzzle pieces, the two of you chatting all night long. Vox complained mostly about Val and work and some radio demon guy. And you told him about coworkers, and your skeezy landlord, who you were sure was stealing your shit when you were gone.
The next day he moved you into a private apartment in the Vee tower, close to his. You're pretty sure he also killed the landlord, but you didn't look into it.
The two of you continued your little hangouts, first it was monthly, and then weekly, and sure enough you were going to his place watching movies and snuggling.
You still kept it professional though, no one could know about your little secret. That wouldn't stop you from grabbing each other any second you were alone. Or teasing each other during more public moments. The two of you were happy, cuddled in a cocoon away from the rest of the world. The rest of Hell.

Hey, I just wanted to pop in and say: I love your art. Something about your style is just extra pleasing to the eyes with how smooth it is. I've especially enjoyed your swap au, I love the way you don't do typical stuff like making the DDs stay having the yellow eye color and instead replacing it with Doll's red. Because I love your swap au so much
I MADE A FANFIC!
I would put the link but ao3 is weird and won't let me unless I use the share button which doesn't work for this.
If you want to find it, it's titled "Confessions of a Mask" by OldManJenkins985.
Sorry if I got some of the characterization wrong, particularly with Uzi since I wasn't really sure how she would be as a disassembly drone. Thad is...well I feel bad for him :( also Tessa may be too supportive? Idk just based on what was said of her I felt like that might be the case but again I wasn't really sure how a worker drone Tessa would act exactly.
Anyways, I hope you enjoy it and keep making awesome artwork. Every single piece is amazing in it's own way.
OH DUDE I REALLY LOVE THIS ONE, I RECOMMEND CHECKING THIS ONE OUT!! It's always crazy to me when people write fics based off of the au, it makes me so happy y'all don't understand. This one especially. But god, that ending with T is so depressing, I just want good things for him. Amazing job with this!! :( <333

Okay, so I just finished the new Murder Drones episode. I feel like I understand even less now. Someone please tell me I'm not alone in this feeling.
A long post, spoilers and my barely coherent thoughts about moments that stood out to me under the cut.
What exactly is JC Jensen in Spaaaace trying to accomplish with these experiments? Nori and the other Workers must have been suffering so much at their hands. One thing I found touching in an otherwise horrifying flashback was Yeva caring for Nori, even through the nightmare they were living.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
---
It was sad to see Uzi being scared of N again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
---
Newfound respect for Doll, standing up to her own nightmare.
Tumblr media
---
Tessa has been setting off my alarm bells since she first landed, but I wasn't expecting what she did to Doll or...whatever this is. Then again, this really isn't Tessa at all, is it?
Tumblr media
---
I'm still thinking the Solver consumes planets and life, like Galactus from Marvel comic books. The flashback inflicted on N shows a world trying to fight back.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This next shot comes after the scene of V and J on the ground. Are these new Disassembly Drones we haven't met yet?
Tumblr media
---
Nori meeting N...one of the first things she says is, "Hey, you look familiar." So the theory that N killed her before can't be dismissed yet. Even in this weird setting, it's adorable that, down to her literal core, Nori still loves Khan.
Tumblr media
---
The fight with Solver Uzi moved too quickly for me to get a good screenshot (the animation in this episode was so good) but the way N broke it up, omg
Tumblr media
(Little hearts and everything 💛💜)
---
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is the part that genuinely made me laugh in this confusing maze of horror.
Tumblr media
And this is the part that made me want to cry, especially when he strokes her hair.
Tumblr media
---
Uzi and N dangling over basically a hellmouth, and her loving him enough to sacrifice herself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
---
I feel like she must at least suspect something is on the other side, or this is the calmest fall-to-doom I have ever seen.
Tumblr media
---
Here I think she's looking into the eye of the Solver itself, like the Eye of Sauron. Is she truly in outer space or is this a hallucination? I guess only the next episode will tell.
Tumblr media
---
Shifting focus a little, I was really happy to see these guys again, especially Khan. I've been hoping that he'd take a more active role and fight for his daughter.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He actually built Uzi's rail gun😭
---
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
J remembers the rail gun. I love that shot of Lizzy and Thad. I hope the fan theories about them being siblings are true, they'd make a great brother and sister team.
---
In conclusion, this episode was a rollercoaster.
Still not entirely sure of what I just saw or how I feel about it, only that it can be summed up by this image
Tumblr media
This one, too, actually
Tumblr media
Thank you for reading this far.

Murder Drone EP 7 Spoilers
ABSOLUTELY SHOCKED, SPEECHLESS
TOO MUCH INFORMATION
It's 3 AM I can't think straight
V is probably not alive :( my hopes are just hopes
So uh. Disassembly Drones sort of caused human genocide, not sure if it was Earth or other planet... At least they were eating them?... I guess they just need any kind of organic matter to exist/cool down, blood or oil or flesh.
Didn't make much SS since I woke up only to watch EP buttt
Tumblr media
Very confused by this... Is name being lit up meant that they're "alive"?... There's too much material for theories.
I suppose Yeva is not alive, but not sure....
Very lost about the whole cathedral thing in a flashback, like. Did humans really tried to exorcise Solver??? Wth was happening
And awh Nori and Yeva caring about each other :>
NORIIII AAAA, so that's why you was so called "core" Awh :(
Like Mother Like Daughter
BUT NORI, FINALLY YOU'RE HERE, EVEN IF IT WAS FOR LIKE 15 MINS
Rip Doll, at least we found out what was your goal 😔 poor thing
N CUT OFF TESSA'S HEAD SO EASILY???
THE WHOLE REVEAL OF CEN/TESSA/SOLVER/ WHATEVER THIS AMALGAMATION IS.
IT LOOKS SO GROSS HELL, DRONE(Cyn?) JUST GOT HUMAN SKIN, LIMBS AND FLESH OVER HER METAL BODY?? WHAT THE FUCK, PLASTIC HANDST STICKING OUT OF FLESH ONES, BLOOD DRIPPING FROM WHERE METAL NECK CONNECTS TO SKIN COVERED HEAD??? THE FACE 😨, if it wasn't for style, that's some good nightmare fuel.
So Original Tessa is dead?... But in files she was only missing an arm... I guess it was just made up by Solver to make N believe "Tessa" :(
WHAT J DID AT THE SPIRE, she definitely destroyed the ship, BUT WHY??
DOES SHE KNOW ABOUT SOLVER!TESSA????
KHAN, LIZZY & THAD. YEEESSSS THEY LOOK SO FRICKING COOL, LET'S GOOO
I bet J got flashbacks when she saw rail gun
Uzi threw Nori into the hole and then fell herself. Maybe Nori haven't got killed by solver when amalgamation jumped in. Maybe daughter and mother could have a conversation at least some kind of...
Also
Tumblr media
She got thrown to the space? I see moons in the right corner.
It definitely the same part that exploded when core collapsed.
I think I'll go rest now. It will leave me thinking and theorizing for days.

Budget Diversion
----------------------------------------------------------
-"Brah this whole thing is bullshit," Thad said angrily while on his phone.
-"Totally dude!" Lance his bro and teammate responded quickly and with the same anger in his voice.
The reason the both of them were so angry was because their University board had suddenly decided out of the bloom that the football team wasn't important anymore, little by little each month the budget previously assigned for the football team shrunk considerably while the budget for the science-oriented faculties grew.
Because of the budget cuts, the team had to use spare old equipment and their experienced celebrity coach had to be let go as the board didn't want to pay his high salary anymore.
To add insult to injury the University board also forced the closure of the largest frat on campus, Delta Zeta Pi (∆ZΠ), they then proceeded to demolish the historic frat house in order to make way for a new scientific research building.
The homeless frat boys were then relocated all over campus. Thad, Lance, and another teammate called Jason were relocated to a dorm that was next to the main science faculty building, meaning that every time they walked through the hallways of the dorm they would bump into hundreds of science nerds of all shapes, sizes, and nationalities.
Things were hard but Thad and Lance tried to keep a cool mind, that was until the board announced that they were going to be cutting all of the lacrosse team's budget, meaning that it would have to be dissolved until "further notice" by the board.
-"I mean dude if that can happen to the lacrosse team it can happen to us right?" Thad said as he walked in circles around his cramped dorm room
-"Your right brah!" Lance responded -"I mean this college was known for its elite sports teams, we put this place on the fucking map and now they want to throw us away like trash!".
-"I know dude but it's all because of those stupid nerds".
-"Totally, I mean all those smart Asians that have started to appear all over campus probably convinced the board to leave us in the gutter" Thad said as he remembered seeing the four-eyed freaks everywhere when walking through campus.
-"Fucking fags, I mean why don't they stay back in China or India, why do they have to come here and ruin the fun for all of us!".
-"Don't know dude but we have to do something, we can't just stay here without doing anything".
-"Im already ahead of you brah, just wait till I get to the dorm and I'll tell you my plan" Lance said as his tone became sinister.
-"Okay brah, see you later" Thad said with a cocky smile as he thought about all of the ways he could abuse the nerds that surrounded him.
-"Sure brah!" Lance finally said as Thad ended the call and jumped into his bed, as he looked at the ceiling he couldn't stop thinking about what was happening, everything he valued in his life was being taken away from him, ever since he was a kid Thad had loved to watch and play football, even the reason why he was studying in one of the best colleges of America was because of football as he had won an athletic scholarship that paid almost all of his tuition.
-"Fucking budget diversion..." Thad whispered to himself -"I wish things could be different".
As those fateful words left Thad's mouth an almost invisible multicolored shimmer started covering his surroundings, because Thad continued looking up towards the roof he didn't notice the formation of said shimmer, furthermore, he didn't even notice that it slowly started changing his belongings and those of his roommate Lance.
The dozens of dirty and smelly clothes on the floor vanished in the blink of an eye, in both Thad's and Lance's closets their dozens of pairs of sleeves shirts designed to perfectly show off their muscles were replaced by some formal button-up shirts, simple yet colorful graphic t-shirts with typically nerdy iconography like that of sci-fi shows and math jokes, and two or more jackets, their shorts became jeans and the dozens of colorful sports shoes they loved to flaunt because of their high cost became simple yet functional oxfords or sneakers.
The four plain walls that made up the dorm were then covered by dozens of posters of different sci-fi shows and movies, the shelves on said walls that were previously covered in sports trophies were now proudly displaying books in every scientific field and some small chess and math competition trophies.
The computer where Thad used to make mediocre assignments and watch porn was replaced by a high-end tech machine that could do any task that was thrown at it, no matter how big the numbers it had to process.
As the changes around Thad continued at a steady pace it was then time for his body to change as well, the first major change that manifested was a sudden decrease in his height from his imposing six feet four to a more compact five feet seven, Thad didn't notice this even though his feet couldn't touch the end of the bed frame like before or that his clothes felt slightly bigger.
Said clothes would become less tight over time as Thad's muscles started to dissolve back into his body, his defined six-pack was the first to go as it sank into an almost flat surface surrounded by a small amount of fat, Thad's hard-earned pecs were next as they also deflated like balloons and disappeared out of sight. Thad's bulging arms were not spared either as his huge biceps and vein-filled forearms deflated as well, leaving behind a pair of useless sticks that couldn't carry any significant amount of weight on their own.
-"What the?" Thad thought as he looked down and for a moment saw that his muscles had disappeared, he quickly blinked and as he did his vision blurred slightly. Which gave the illusion that his large muscles were still there.
-"Must have been my mind playing games" Thad concluded, after all, it had been a long day for him, he had to go to football practice in the morning, go to the gym before lunch and then go to a few tedious classes in the evening, this combined with the fact that he had been to a party last night meant that he had slept only three or four hours -"Maybe I should call it a day..." Thad thought as he got up from his bed and readied himself for the long night to come while still not noticing the changes happening around him and to himself thanks to his blurry vision.
-"Here it is!" Thad mumbled as he grabbed his toothbrush and toothpaste from his now orderly drawer, he then proceeded to walk towards the small bathroom adjacent to the exit of his dorm room, once inside he washed his mouth with some water and then placed some of the toothpaste onto the toothbrush before proceeding to brush his teeth.
As he brushed each tooth carefully the changes all over his body increased in pace, his previously muscled ass became a well-proportioned bubble butt while his defined legs lost their musculature.
Thad's dick which was his pride and joy lost almost five inches leaving behind a three-inch nub, his giant and fertile balls also shrank with his manhood, and finally, his smaller equipment became covered in a dense forest of black curly hairs.
These hairs then proceeded to grow all over Thad's carefully waxed body, because of this his slightly chubby stomach now had an abundant treasure trail leading towards his flat but hairy chest whose pink nipples were surrounded by smaller black curly hairs.
This sudden hair growth was followed by a subtle change in Thad's skin tone as it went from a tanned white to a dark brown tone, first, it was his feet, then his legs, and then this new brown wave rapidly climbed upwards past his small dick, abdomen and towards his chest were his small nipples increased in size and became even darker.
The wave of brown was then stopped around Thad's neck where his adam's apple shrank giving him a more prepubescent cracking voice.
Up until this point, Thad's face was unchanged but this wouldn't be the case anymore as a messy brown beard grew into place and the previously contained brown wave rushed through his face, by doing so it quickly changed Thad's facial features as seen by his bigger lips, straight but wider nose and softer cheekbones, thus giving him a more South Asian appearance.
The last major changes were those to Thad's eyebrows as they became bushy with black hairs while his blonde buzz cut changed in color to black while also growing into a curly mess. Even Thad's eyes changed in color as his beautiful deep blue irises became black.
As Thad finished brushing his teeth and spat the water out of his mouth, his loose clothes that at this point were dangling from his body changed in order to better fit his new reality, Thad's tank top grew a pair of sleeves and changed in color to grey while a "time travel" graphic motif of a famous show formed on the front. His pair of shorts that seemed to be about to fall to the floor changed into a pair of blue denim skinny jeans that accentuated his behind, the jock underneath said jeans also changed as it became a simple pair of white briefs, finally, Thad's barefoot feet became covered by a pair of old sandals.
-"Shid" Thad said with an accent as he looked up toward the mirror, at this point his vision was so blurry that he couldn't even see anything more than a weird blob of mass reflected by the mirror.
In an almost instinctual manner, Thad's right hand started desperately searching for something on the counter, finally, after a few seconds, it reached the thing it was looking for, a pair of glasses with round lenses that had appeared out of thin air.
-"Dhere dhey arre" Thad said as he placed the glasses on his face like it was the most normal thing for him to do despite the fact that he had never needed to use glasses before.
Once Thad's vision cleared up he pretty much gasped in terror as he finally noticed the extensive changes his body had undergone.
-"Whad happened doo me?" Thad said as he proceeded to gasp gasp again when he noticed that he was speaking with a heavy foreign accent -"Whad happened do me voice!".
Gone was the prime beef of a man that could pick up any girl from the cheerleading team with ease, and in its place was left a skinny Indian nerd.
-"No dis can be happening" Thad said as he ran out of the bathroom and into his changed dorm, everything he owned was either gone or replaced by things only nerds have.
-"No please!" Thad cried as he fell to the floor in defeat, his body, his room, maybe even he as a person was probably erased from reality, replaced by an inferior him.
Thad rummaged through his pockets until he found his student I.D that was previously stored in his shorts, the face in the I.D was the exact same one he had seen in the mirror, instead of Thad Kirkman the card now displayed the name Tanish Kumar, furthermore the faculty the card was registered to changed from the physical sports faculty to the biological sciences faculty.
-"Hoow dis even possible" Thad said as he continued looking at his I.D, maybe it was the wish he made on his bed, maybe it was his harm-filled words when talking to Lance on the phone, either way, he was now stuck with no probability of changing back to his old self.
As Thad stayed on the floor and reflected on his changes, his mind slowly started to be filled with other memories that weren't his own. memories of being born to a middle-class family in the suburbs of New Delhi, memories of dozens of nights of studying that translated into the best grades in his school, memories of not doing any exercise as gaining knowledge and not muscles was his only focus in life, memories of being the loner nerdy kid that was made fun of by the more popular kids at school, and finally more recent memories like that of his temporary stay in the United States.
-"No ged oud of me head" Thad said as he tried to fight back the foreign influence that was taking over his mind. Yet there was no stopping it as Thad now remembered that he got into college not by being the best at football but by being one of the best applicants for an international scholarship program that would pay all of his expenses while abroad.
-"But I'm goot at foodball!" Thad whispered but his changing mind immediately countered this with memories of his bad experiences with sports, he hated p.e. class from pretty much the start of his school life, he now remembered that he would countdown each second of class in wait for the ring of the bell so that he could go to his math or biology class and do more productive things.
Now that he was studying in the states he had been hit hard with the football culture that was almost everywhere around him, this was because he didn't understand the sport at all, not the rules, not the ways of playing it, and certainly not why it was called football when you're supposed to play it with your hands, it was just a stupid game for equally stupid himbos that ran around chasing a ball.
-"No... sdop radionalizing!" Thad shouted as his brain and intellect became much more self-aware, millions of pieces of knowledge were being beamed into his mind with each passing second and slowly but surely they replaced everything that once made up Thad, he wasn't in the football team, he wasn't part of a frat, he wasn't an all American jock, he was just a simple smart hardworking student from abroad doing his best.
-"Tanish al you okey?" A heavily accented voice said behind him.
Thad turned around and looked at where the voice was coming from, a Chinese guy that looked just as nerdy as he was looking down at him with worry from the now wide-open door of his dorm room.
-"Why you in flool?" He said as walked closer to were Thad was.
-"Nodhing I jusd led my I.D fall" Thad said as he got up from the floor.
-"Ale you sule you okey?" The young Chinese man asked as he was now next to Thad.
-"Yes Lin I'm alrighd" Thad suddenly said which worried him even more as he had never met the guy in front of him yet he somehow knew his name.
-"Okey then, you heal the gool news?" Lin asked as he walked past Thad.
-"No whad goot news?" Thad asked as he concluded that Lin was probably once his bro and teammate Lance.
-"See fol youlself" Lin said after turning on Thad's computer and opening their university's main website.
Thad nervously walked towards the computer and sat down on his seat, he then looked at the screen and started reading out loud what he was seeing.
Tumblr media
-"Dhe Howard Universidy board is pleaset do announce dhad dhe sdudends Tanish Kumar (Biomedical Engener Sdudend) & Lin Ru (Biomedical Engener Sdudend) have won a grand for dhe realizadion of dheir healdh nano-bod invesdigadion" Thad said and as he finished he felt slightly proud and happy of this achievement.
-"Isn't it gleat?" Lin asked as a huge smile formed on his face.
Thad turned around towards Lin, and for a moment he felt a huge amount of horror, his old bro, now a Chinese guy happy that he was getting a grant for his... Their investigation.
-"Our investigation..." Thad thought as he now remembered that the idea for the project was concocted the week after he had met Lin during orientation week almost a year before.
The more Thad thought about the project the more he lost his will to keep fighting, Lin seemed unfazed by his change, did he even remember who he was previously?
-"Forget it... Your Tanish Kumar, you've always been Tanish" a voice suddenly said inside of Thad's mind -"Think about the project, you're destined to help millions of people thanks to your vast intellect, forget football, football doesn't save lives, your old self lived for himself, you will now live to save others... Forget everything and be happy".
Thad closed his eyes for a fraction of a second as he readied himself to fight against the foreign influence once more but he quickly stopped, Lin was happy, he and Lin now had a better life ahead, and by the looks Lin was giving him, Thad knew that the life he had ahead was to be permanently connected to Lin in both work and love.
-"Why fight anymore, I'm Tanish Kumar, I've always been Tanish Kumar" Thad thought as the last parts of his old self were eliminated from existence and the shimmer that changed him disappeared.
Tumblr media
-"My god dhis is gread" Tanish suddenly said with a happy grin of his own.
-"I know light?" Lin said "Appalently some of the budget cuts the boald made to the spolts teams is being used for more glants like ouls, remember Takahashi, he also won a glant for his locket engine ploposal"
-"Really?" Tanish euphorically asked as he got up his chair -"I can'd believe dhis place is finally daking us seriously!".
-"It's just amazing!" Lin said as he jumped and hugged Tanish who quickly responded to the hug.
-"Dis needs a celebradion..." Tanish stated while his face was inches away from Lin's -"Doesn'd it...?"
-"Yes I aglee" Lin said as he came closer and passionately kissed Tanish in his sensual brown lips.
Lin then proceeded to remove Tanish's shirt in a romantic manner while Tanish carefully laid on his bed.
-"I hope youl leady baby" Lin said as he played with Tanish's large brown nipples which made him moan -"Oh I am..." Tanish said as he turned around and by doing so exposing his behind to Lin.
-"Today I eat curry" Lin jokingly said as he proceeded to remove Tanish's jeans and underwear which gave him ample view of his brown hole.
----------------------------------------------------------
-"Gosh would you two stop it you Asian fags!" Jason blurted out as he punched the wall, the nerdy asian boyfriends next door seemed like they had been fucking for hours, and because of it he couldn't fall asleep.
Ever since he had moved from his old and now demolished frat house to the nerdy dorm it had become almost impossible to sleep peacefully without hearing moaning all night.
-"Let's hope I don't turn up gay by staying here" Jason whispered as his eyes finally closed while the familiar colorful tones of a magical shimmer formed all over his room.

Wanted to try something a little different than my usual story subjects, hope you guys like it! 🤭

Ship: V x Thad Genre: Fluff description: This is the prequel to the first one where V kicked Thad's butt and let him live, enjoy. Also I tried to use both human and drone terms and stuff, why? bc I love @taminam02 human designs but I was unsure if to write them as humans or machines given that in the last one that line was a blur too so yeah- as neutral as possible to that. Also V and Thad being the first crack ship I looked at and went '...yeah, yeah this is good' --------------------------------
(No one's pov)
Life was a curious thing, for it brings people in situations in which they would never expect to find themselves in.
When one reffers to someone in their prime they say that they are in their bloom of age don't they? But what about someone who never trully pqssed that prime? What about someone who ended up at the peek of the mountain and has since not fallen despite seeing many before them do so? Aren't stars eternal? Do they not appear and never fade despite them chasing to exist long ago, their light still being guide to many others until it all turns pitch black?
V wasn't exactly alive, but she wasn't dead either. Once upon long ago she was so much different, she was the purest flower, ready to bloom in the heart of spring, but it was in vein, for something else came along and decided that they wanted her for greater purposes. They decided that she was made for things beyond her understanding, things beyond her will of doing, and so she had to be changed. When she woke up, she was no longer a flower, she bloomed yet it was with light and sparkles instead of colorful petals and sweet perfumes. She was in her prime at all times or so one would think she was. Time passed and little by little the structure began to collapse, it still shined just as much.
Thad was in his prime. Both in appearance and in heart, he was at the peek of it. Stronger than ever before, more energised, wiser, brave, he was ready for everything life was going to throw at him and he wasn't going to slow down one moment.
Do you see the issue? She appears to be above all and while she might be, she does not feel like it, while he is in whole truth where others see her stand. After the fight Thad tried to make sense as to why he was left alive. One would say it was fate or because he fought his way out but that was a poor lie. His hat was waiting for him in his room after that near death experience. V broke in, she was right there in the heart of the colony *she could have killed him. She could have killed anyone and everyone but she didn't. It made no sense, all his life he was taught the drones beyond the walls of the bunker were nothing but omens of death and destruction and yet here he was alive after two fights with the same so supposed angel of death. Then again, third time's a charm.
V was circling around her territory. This wasteful planet was nothing but snow and cold harsh wind. However, the moon lit so beautifully on these frail layers of snowflake that they glimmered just like dust made out of stars.
Thad was out again, what a foolish reason one might say, but he had a plan, at least to an extent. She could have gotten him by now but she didn't and now it was time to learn why. After all, he wasn't going to get even more powerful, right? V heard him, she had excellent hearing, but by the time she could make a cheeky remark he threw his hat at her feet and glared at him, he sure had s throw, he was at least a meter or two away from her.
"Why?" He asked bluntly as he frowned as she simply gave out one of her psychotic smiles. "Little prey has come to play~?" She taunted as she began to close on him with a wide smirk, showing those terrifyingly sharp teeth. Thad couldn't help but instinctively put a hand at his neck. Their last encounter ended up in a permanent mark for the rest of his life. She saw this, and couldn't help but smile ever more. Was it his fear and yet defying behaviour? Was it his foolishness and yet bravery? Or was it his skill and charm that has saved his neck?
"Why did you let me go? You could have killed me that time, but you didn't." "Are you so arrogant and ungrateful as to even seek an answer? You're more foolish than I have anticipated then."
In just a few steps he was right up in his face, and yet he showed no sign of backing away. Anyone would call him an idiot in this moment and yet that is far from what he was for deciding to confront her.
One moment, just one and he saw all that he needed to know. "You're tired." He blurted out bluntly as he looked at her with a sympathetic and apologetic manner. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. She looked at him baffled as her lips parted ever so slightly ready to prove him wrong, but to what extent even? What could she answer with to that? She had no answer that would prove him otherwise. Her face of shock slowly turned to anger as she placed one of her claws under his chin, right next to his neck, ready to finish him for good, or so one would think.
"Is that why you sparred me? You were tired?" The more he spoke the more a low growl could be heard from the girl as she pressed her sharp claw further more ready to draw out the life source from his body, and just when you think that she would actually do something her eyes found their path to his.
He was far from being tired, he had all the energy he needed and more, there was no fear of death, there was no 'What if this backfires?' of any kind. He held no such silly concerns because he was proven to be right by no other than her and so why would he frail?
Her grip slightly loosened as one small drop trailed off her claw and dropped onto the snow, staining it's purity and creating a new pattern into it's structure.
She took a step back to reconcile yet she had no words. She couldn't even begin to understand his reason to be there to begin with. She couldn't understand why he wished to speak to her. He put his neck at risk to simply come out all the way here and face her. One of her teammates could have gotten to him, she could have been hungry and finished him off, there were simply so many risks that it lead to no rational conclusion as to why he would face it all.
She shouldn't waste her time with idiots. She was ready to be on her way, fly off, leave him behind, but its not like he was intending of letting her go anytime soon.
He grabbed her hand right when she was about take off. A foolish mistake, for her tail could easily be the end of him, or even her claws, right there and then and his eyes would never shine with light again.
Yet she didn't take any sort of action.
As for him, it was like seeing her for the very first time. There was no trace of malice or hatred from what he could see. There was no active desire to consume the flesh of another and feast upon their misery. There was no indication whatsoever that she was the monster that tales from his home made her to be. Even with his experience and encounters with her, he saw no such flaw in her. He almost felt foolish to have thought of her in all those horrible ways for so long and for what reason exactly?
However, she wasn't ready for this, she didn't want to, not now. Her hand slipped out of his grasp and she took off. He was left behind, holding his hand in that same position, the surprisingly warm touch of her hands left imprinted in his. Her skin was smooth and delicate, nowhere near as rough and as patched as one would expect from these harsh winds.
As time passed they met more and more. V didn't make the mistake to stay on the ground for too long again. Whenever he would see her would be from a far away building. Sometimes she was closer, other times she would fly right above him, or far away into the sky, but each time he went out he spotted her. Either he managed to find her every time, or she was expecting him and stalking him from the moment he'd set foot out of the colony.
Silence was all that there was between them. They couldn't be from further different worlds and yet he kept coming back. He got his answer, he should have left this all behind long ago, but foolish is the boy who knows no fear. He kept coming back.
He learned to admire her. She learned to tolerate his existence. He was the most annoying person she had ever met, for the simple reason that he kept coming back, wasting his time with no certainty that he would ever gain what he sought.
She was the most fascinating enigma that he would ever have the pleasure of meeting in his entire life.
He was right with one thing, she was tired, even if that didn't mean she was any less of a danger, one day just because of that, he finally got to her.
She opened her eyes as she looked emptily into the distance. The snow was falling slowly before merging with the already existing layers from the ground. How has the city not yet been engulfed in snow? Was it her flying that disturbed the clouds, perhaps it was her landings that would create craters alongside the chasing of her preys, but as her mind wondered with these meaningless thoughts, she realised one thing. She wasn't overheating… she didn't feel warm, and that would usually be a relief but now… it made no sense.
That is when she spotted him. He was right there, his left hand bandaged tightly, while his jacket was missing. No, it wasn't missing, it was resting on her shoulders and she didn't even notice it. How was that possible…?
Why was he bandaged? Why was she not overheating? The last thing she recalls is falling. She was overheating, but not anymore. She could feel that well known tangy sweet taste in her mouth. Has he…?
Sacrifices. It's the way that Thad knew life worked. If you wanted something, you had to make sacrifices, if you wanted to see another day, you had to make sacrifices, if you wanted to make connections, you had to make sacrifices. So, in order to make the progress he has hoped for, he made a sacrifice. What was it to him? What were just a few drops of blood to a machine? What were just a few drops of oil to a human? A human's body can regenerate with the proper nutrition, a machine needs to change it's oil regardless. Why wouldn't he be able to sacrifice such a small insignificant amount? Sure the process to gain back the loss may prove a bit troublesome, but it was worth it, wasn't it?
She looked at him silently, he still didn't notice that she was awake, he was lost in his own thoughts.
A quiet sound and the warmth of another's presence. That's what pulled him out, just to look at his side and realised her head was resting on his shoulder while mindlessly looking at the snowflakes waltzing through the air to the ground.
A day after another, nobody noticed, no one had a clue. Why would they ever pry into it? Maybe he was doing some extra training, hitting the gym or relaxing, no would imagine that he'd go out for such a deed… No one would think that the bandages on his hands are hiding some wounds alongside small punctured holes from the extraction of his life source through more safe and sanitary ways. All to be delivered towards one person, and for what? Just a glance, a brief meeting of their eyes and nothing more. Yet that was just about enough for him to endure all of this.
She shined so beautifully, she was so perfect. A cruel beast, but really, who out of the two was the monster? He who's sharp green eyes gazed into the darkness of the night emptily with nothing but one taunting thought into his mind, or her golden orbs of light scorching the sky with hunger.
Was it worth it?
"Left, right, down." He'd say out softly, holding her hands. He taught her how to dance all over again, and she thought him how to fight better, how to train properly, all the while she was reminded how to move through the wind smoothly.
They were so strange, so different, it was impossible to think that they made a stand, it was beyond imagination to think that they had something to begin with…
"A week more and you can have your refill and-" "No." "…No?" He asked taken aback as he looked at her surprised. "I don't want you to do this. I can handle myself just fine." "I'm not saying you can't but-" "Don't be a stupid tin can and listen to me! I don't want you to do this anymore!" He went mute, as a shadow fell upon his face. It was almost menacing, but by now she knew as to why it would occur.
She softly cupped his cheek and placed a loving kiss on his forehead, pulling him out of the darker pits of his mind. Guiding him back into the light. "It's not needed anymore… Please." She asked simply as his hands raised and gently warped around her.
He was nowhere near being to her level, in his prime and all. The strongest trees and beasts could never compare to even the weakest glimmer of a star.
Star dust, flying around the world with no chains, without any restraints, free to roam this far and wide plane of existence with no restraints, and from all unfortunate souls, it decided to settle down near a golden haired popular jock. Compared to stars that shine for all, a star dust is far too weak from afar to be seen or appreciated, but up close it is the most priceless treasure of the world.
From all of the things of this cruel and cold world, something that held nowhere near as much power as her pinkie finger was her salvation.
This was far from any sort of bickering or 'aggression' to be out of the question, but as they laid down on the rooftops of abandoned buildings with her resting on his chest, it could not be denied. They belonged to complete separate worlds, and yet even the closest to them had not a clue, that the true life that they lived was next to each other with no knowledge or acknowledgement of the two previous worlds that they once originated from.
Words were never spoken, not in the way you'd expect at least. 'I love you' was not something either of them knew. 'I love you' was not in their vocabulary or knowledge. He would give her his life source without expecting anything, and she? She would simply shine and light his path. 'I love you' simply feels so weak for something so pure.
"You're an idiot." "Yes, and?" He asked calmly as his jacket rested upon her shoulders as they walked next to each other. "And you should know to be better." She said as she looked into his eyes with her usual unreadable face just for him to smile at her softly. "Not everyone's born as one of the skies greatest wonders." She'd tched and turn around as he simply looked at her with something that could only be described as full devotion and passion.
They made no sense, they didn't have to, they didn't need to. They were happy, so why would anything else matter?
The end

AU idea: Lee & Ler. (This is a bit long, just a quick heads up. Sorry about this ^^")
Tickling was one of the many things Workers just couldn't experience. It wasn't like they didn't have mechanical nervous systems, but their tough outer layers made it hard for it to bring the desired effects. So they all just give up on trying to implement this human thing into their lives.
Well, almost everyone. Uzi for some reason could experience the joys that tickling could bring to one. (It's the Zombie Drone coding's fault.) Her mother would often tickle her while playing. But after her passing, Uzi hasn't had the chance to receive them anymore. Her dad never really understood it, so he never tried it.
Over the following years Uzi had been roughly tickle-starved. The only time she could experience the comforting tingly feeling even slightly was when she ran a toothbrush through her stomach, or a feather on her feet. Of course, they weren't very effective (curse of not being able to tickle yourself) but they were at least something. But still, they weren't the real thing, and no matter what she tried she could never fully satisfy her lee moods.
Thad on the other hand was dealing with a different issue. He wasn't ticklish, being a worker and all, but rather he wanted to tickle someone. Back when he was a little droneling, during one of the cartoon shows he and Lizzie were watching, a tickle scene came one. Maybe it was the character's big smile or the sound of their laughter but Thad was mesmerised. He wanted to experience it. So he tried.
But no matter what he used or who he tickled it never worked. The drones around him either didn't react at all or got annoyed with him. After a while he stopped trying. He was starting to get to the age where the others around him found the mere idea of tickle to be an immediate unpopular marker. So he showed these thoughts under his consciousness. But deep down his ler moods were piling up. He wanted to tickle someone, ANYONE. He felt like he'd burst at any moment.
One day, Thad accidentally walked in on Uzi trying to soothe her lee mood. At first she tried to defend herself. That this isn't what it looks like but ultimately she confessed about how much she enjoys being tickled. She asked him not to tell anyone, she didn't want to become the school's laughingstock. He told her he won't tell anyone, under one condition. She let's him tickle her.
And this was the start of their routine. At least once a week they meet up somewhere exclusive and Thad tickles Uzi like there's no tomorrow. They also like to test different tickle styles out. Tickle songs? Yes. Spidering fingers? Yes. Raspberries? Yes. Different kinds of tools? Yes. Tickle bites? You bet yes!
Not sure what you could do with this idea of mine but I'll leave the rest up to you. :3 (This idea came to me while sitting in church. Don't ask why.)
gahhhhhhh I wanna draw so much for this but I wasn't sure what but I decided on my favorite kinds of tickle method

I wrote another fic! This time, I think it’s short enough to just slap on here. I also want to thank @creativeskull95 for letting me use their OC, Maia! Please, give their stuff a look as well.
Without further ado, let’s begin.
A Dream Is A Wish Your Core Makes
"Lock down the whole building. We can't risk that thing getting in."
The overly sweaty humans on the screen started bickering between themselves, as Thad began to zone out for the 13th time tonight. He really was trying to keep up with the movie, but it bored him so much that he was genuinely starting to wonder if his motivator was malfunctioning. A quick hit on the pause button and a two minute full body-scan later revealed that, no, the flick was just that asinine. It didn't help that it was getting a little late, or that this was his third attempt at trying to watch the whole thing through. Horror was boring him, somehow. Living in an isolationist, paranoid society that was constructed from the fear of death made dramatized fiction like this feel artificial and numbing. At least, that's what he supposed. He rubbed his eyes and slumped back into the sofa, maybe he'll give it a fourth shot tomorrow.
His eyes went wide in surprise as the sound of a ventilation grid hitting the floor behind him brought him back to reality. When the initial shock passed, he looked over his shoulder and sighed in relief as a familiar, tall figure lowered herself into his hallway. Adjusting her hair, she then waved at him.
"Hey." Said V. "Pod got a little cramp and I got bored."
"That makes two of us." Said Thad, throwing a flabby hand up at the running TV. V chuckled, making herself at home by casually throwing herself on the sofa and putting her legs on the armrest.
"So what's on?" She asked, leaning up against his side.
"'The Instance,' or something. School assignment. We're supposed to watch horror movies to study how humans..." He picked up the paper laying on the table, digital eyes squinting to find a specific paragraph. "'...Use suspense and scares to engage their viewers.' This gotta be the worst movie in the world to show that. Thanks Teach." Thad threw the paper into the air and leaned back again, putting his hands behind his head.
"Dunno about all that, but I'm sure as hell entertained. Look at that guy's wig!" She cackled, pointing a stray claw at the screen. Thad rolled his eyes, but couldn't deny he was smirking. A wig that spiky did look a little out of place. He found himself earnestly smiling for the first time while watching this movie. Maybe it'd be easier to stay awake if he had someone to banter with.
As it turns out, it wasn't so bad if you just had company. They poke fun at the flimsy plot and all the oddities of humanity. V is especially snarky today, mockingly questioning every part of the movie from the character's illogical actions to their fashion choices. The former huntress exercised great comedic skill as she efficiently disassembled the poor Worker Drone's mask, leaving him gasping for air as she continued her assault on his Funny Code. They couldn't stop giggling.
As they finally managed to get past the 60-minute mark, the movie picked up considerably. It was at least interesting enough to make the two drones shift around in their seating and graduate from limp blobs to sitting normally. The characters had eventually gotten into a predicament interesting enough to get invested in. The guy with the spiky wig even got taken away. And then the movie's climactic horror scene happened. The movie's monster, some cloaked creature, had seemingly cornered a large group of characters in a foyer. Then, the carnage began. The monster lunged at the defenseless meat-bags and mercilessly culled them. Bodies were ripped apart, limbs were torn off, screams peaked and died out, and blood was splattered on the walls to such a gruesome degree that would almost be comical if it wasn't so disturbingly familiar. But it was with humans, so Thad could stomach it. He side-eyed V to gauge her reaction, she was being oddly quiet. V looked unnerved. The eyes on her visor had dilated into pupil-less circles. It was getting to her. It was too familiar. Same old horrors. It was too much.
The screen froze as two, grey vertical blocks stared back at her. Thad had paused the movie.
"Do you wanna watch something else?" He asked. V blinked, pupils returning.
"...Isn't this an assignment?"
"It can wait. I have the whole week." He didn't, but this felt more important. Stepping out of the sofa, he waved her over to a shelf with a bunch of plastic casings. DVDs, she realized. Thad began digging through them all, taking them out one by one and having increasingly indifferent reactions to the covers. Looking over the collection, V started to browse herself. Noticing an oddly fancy, glittery one, she took it out. 'Cinderella.'
"What's this?" V asked, staring at the cartoon woman on the cover with intensity, as if trying to gauge whether or not the woman may have the fire powers the title implied.
"Oh, that's my sister's. We can put it on though." He offered with an endorsing tone. V plucked the disc from its casing and threw the plastic over her shoulder, inserting it into the DVD player and hitting Play with her tail. Taking a seat next to Thad again, she waited with her hands resting on her lap. After a few seconds of unusually old static, the archaic sound of filtered horns filled the room.
Cinderella~
If you give your heart a chance
Thad smiled. He couldn't remember the last time he had watched this with Maia, but the melody brought back many memories of his sister gleefully singing along to all the songs. V had nothing to say. She just watched unblinking as colorful graphics painted several pictures to a beautiful song. She said nothing as the pleasant narration introduced her to a nostalgic setting. She didn't question how the woman could converse with animals, or how they could help her shower. It was just a story about a servant girl dreaming of more, and that was enough for her to escape in.
No matter how your heart is grieving
If you keep on believing...
———————————————————————
When Maia woke up early in the morning, she was confused to find a metal grate on the floor in their hallway. Tip-toeing around it, she kept quiet as she sneaked into the living room, expecting to find her brother fast asleep on the sofa once again. Her hand flew up to her mouth to choke the gasp she nearly let out, as next to her brother slept a much larger, scarier girl. A Murder Drone, or, a 'Disassembly Drone,' as she had tried to learn, was cuddling up to Thad in a paradoxically sweet embrace. Looking over them, Maia could also see that the girl had wrapped her tail around Thad's leg. The drone had a big yellow SLEEP MODE sign on her visor, with text beneath reading 'DO NOT DISTURB' in threatening, bold letters. But even if she was really scary, Maia also thought she was really pretty. She was like a sleeping princess, but with big scary wings and teeth.
As silently as possible, Maia began tracing her steps backwards to leave, but was startled to hear her foot step into something crunchy. Panicked, she looked down. It was the casing to her Cinderella DVD. Why was that there? Looking back up, she gasped. Wide, terrified eyes met squinting, groggy ones. The murder princess was awake. With a surprisingly gentle smile, the big girl winked at her, quietly shushing her with a finger. More embarrassed than afraid, Maia turned around and quickly ran into her room.

dead roots, dark water for the ask game :3c
ABSOLUTELY.
so the WIP intro is here if you want the long version. the short version is: dark jak AU.
i started this one because i replayed tpl for the first time in like 15 years and accidentally Reawakened the Special Interest. it was supposed to be a short thing until it... wasn't. and somehow it went from 'a fun story about this thing i loved when i was a kid' to '300-ish page existential trainwreck clusterfuck about trauma and loss and learning to forgive yourself for not being the same person anymore' and i'm not sure how it got here but hey i'm having a great time :) and i'm almost done with the second draft edit (on pause until nano is over), so maybe the finished thing will see the light of day in spring sometime (assuming i'm very persistent and can keep the other plot bunnies at bay long enough)
thanks for the ask and listening to me rant 💜 for your suffering, have an excerpt from chapter 2:
This was fine. It was. They’d shared Jak’s bed in Uncle’s loft for… six years? Seven? Right up until the KG had taken Jak away. And it’d been fine. But in all those years, the tiny, animal part of Daxter’s brain had never been convinced that Jak was going to go cuckoo for cluckatoos in the middle of the night and shred him into confetti. Which he wasn’t. Jak’d had plenty of chances to maim him, and hadn’t taken a single one. Not in the prison, before he’d realized Daxter wasn’t a hallucination. Not when he’d killed the prison guards. Not any of the times Daxter had touched him without thinking, when any rational person would’ve stayed the hell away. Because Jak was Jak, and Jak wouldn’t hurt him. He also wouldn’t sleep, apparently. Jak, still in his street clothes, lay at the very edge of the bed with his back to Daxter. A minor earthquake would have sent him tumbling to the floor. Every few minutes he tilted his head to watch something else. The door. The window. The door, again. Which was ridiculous. Babak Village was the safest place on the Haven Peninsula. There was nothing to be— Daxter bit down on his tongue. His chest burned, bile rose to inflame his lungs. He shut his eyes against it. Jak was the brave one. He’d always been the brave one. The mattress creaked. Indigo eyes watched him, luminescent in the magma’s faint glow. “Yeah, definitely keep doing that. ‘S not creepy at all.” “How long?” Jak signed small, close to his chest. No-context questions. That was something to get used to again. “Two years. Three months. Twelve days.” Since Daxter had climbed out Thad’s window, leaving Jak behind. Since he’d run into the jungle, had gone home alone, had waited five whole days before even trying to leave Sandover— “Thanks. For saving me.” Daxter’s mouth dried and his eyes burned. He didn’t dare reply out loud. “You already said that,” he signed. “Can’t say it enough.” Fuck. What was he supposed to say to that? ‘Didn’t have a choice, turns out my life sucks without you’? “Well, we can just add it to the life-debt you owe me and call it good. Twenty years sound fair?” The corner of Jak’s lips curled into a smile. “Got to be at least two or three life-debts deep with you, by now.” “Two hundred forty-three years, but who’s counting?”

AAA I love the "family" tree <3
The way Four is slowly but surely fading out and getting glitchier (I just noticed that???? That's such a cool detail!! I was wondering why Four's profile hadn't gone away when he wasn't in the chapters anymore, but finally having noticed the fading, it feels so right?? Like, his influence is still there!)
AND NINE'S CROSSED OUT PROFILE HURT SO BAD </3 MY HEART (/pos I love when fictional media hurts me emotionally)
And the way President Thawne is positioned so that he's facing away from us and his face is obscured ?!'!$(_+3(_+$+_7_!!!!!! It's so good and so perfectly feels right for his character
And Seven and Four having different colored lines than the others! Really gives a sense that they're anomalies to the Inertia cycle in some way. Seven being a captured piece of Speed Force and not a Thad, and Four having influence beyond his death (being SOMETHING beyond death, unlike the others). That's also why I feel like Nine doesn't get red lines and instead is just crossed out. Nine's influence is still THERE beyond death, but not quite in the way Four's is.
Nine's death didn't change anything for anyone. Sure, Eight is without his best buddy and Bart is Angry™, but nothing substantial actually Changed.
Four's death, on the other hand, basically kicked into motion Three's entire Everything. Three literally keeps Four's rotting corpse in a tube, meanwhile Nine's body is left in a pit that feels like it could be some unmarked mass grave
It's just so good and I love everything about Frequency so much
thank you!!!!! that character tree thing with every chapter has been genuinely so fun to play around with.
at first of course it was me trying to ease the reader in by giving visual cues to tell the clones apart, but its kinda become a fun little storytelling device in its own right. (the one for chapter 10 is one of my favourites im very excited about it)
and yes!! the dead clones continuing to feature in the tree despite not appearing in the chapter was something i waffled about for a while before deciding to keep them in there. partially for the utility of keeping track of who is and isn't still in the story, but also because i wanted the drama of the deaths being felt throughout the story, past the point where they actually happen

[Fic] First meeting
Yay, finally managed to be productive! Wanted to write about a potential Julian and Thad first meeting, but I managed to combine it with another idea I had about how Thad's scarecrows evolved and I kinds lost focus😅@studentinpursuitofclouds feel free to correct me on how I wrote Julian if something doesn't fit with his personality.
Also, have no idea how this flows from paragraph to paragraph since I can't read it without randomly tearing up due to the cold. Hopefully it's good enough.
Julian was struggling to walk through the thick forest. If he knew it would take him this long to explore this part of the woods he would have postponed his expedition for another day. But it was almost sunset now, he'll see what's behind this patch of trees before turning back towards his farm. At least I found plenty of forage. After a few more minutes of struggling and shallow scratches he managed to get past the thick trees. Before him was a clearing with a small cabin and three scarecrows guarding a few patches of crops.
Julian hesitated at first, he didn't wanted to bother anyone, but curiosity won eventually. He started walking towards the cabin slowly, feeling the need to remain careful about his surroundings without knowing why. After a few steps he noticed a silhouette behind the porch. The other person was turned, his back to Julian, looking like he was carving something into a log. Julian approached carefully and the other man turned his head slightly before refocusing on his task. "I told you already Willow, you can't eat the cat. Now go back to your field."
It was then when Julian noticed a slight movement under the porch. A small orange cat poked it's head out to look at him with scared eyes. Julian hesitated before clearing his throat. "Um… I'm not Willow…"
The other man turned his head fully towards him with a surprised expression on his face. He focused on Julian's face before studying him from head to toes. Julian wasn't sure how to react to that. "Oh, I wasn't expecting anyone to travel this far into the woods. I'm Thad."
"Julian, pleased to meet you. Sorry for trespassing?"
"No problem, anyone who gets this far out into the wilderness will travel through this place eventually." Thad turned his back slightly looking over the trees. "You're aware how late it is though, right? We're way past the magic barrier, monsters will start swarming the area soon. Are you sure you should be this far into the woods?"
"It's ok, I have a sword with me." Although he decided to not mentioned he just learned how to use one and barley fought any monsters with it. Julian wasn't sure if he should try to apologize again, wasn't sure if that was a snide comment directed at him for being here or just a random observation.
But before he could decide Thad turned towards him again, his eyes colder and more guarded. "Are you part of the Adventurer Guild?"
Then Thad looked over him again, slowly and calculating. His smile was sharper now, but his eyes weren't smiling. "Uh yes, I just joined a few days ago." Julian wasn't sure what to say about the whole thing.
Thad's eyes then focused on his face, looking him in the eyes cold and analysing, before relaxing slightly. "A few days ago you say? Wasn't aware there was any competent fighter in this town, now I can tell Marlon to fuck off when he tries to get me to join. You don't have much experience with other adventurers, right? They're all assholes."
Julian immediately remembered the older cloaked man who rudely told him to leave as soon as he stepped foot in the guild. He smiled a little awkwardly. "Some of them are rude, yes, but-"
Suddenly Thad's eyes snapped up to focus on something behind Julian and he started screaming. "No, Willow! You can't eat him either!"
Julian jumped before turning fast, hand on the hilt of his sword. He wasn't even sure what he was expecting, a dog maybe? But there was nothing behind him. The wind was slightly moving the small leaves barely poking out of the hoed patches of soil while the scarecrows were slightly moving with the breeze. Wait, was that scarecrow's head turned towards this direction before? Julian could have sworn it was staring at the entrance of this place. He looked at Thad who had an unreadable expression on his face.
"Wh-who you were talking to?" Julian tried to scan the field behind him again and realized he was being watched, and that he has been stalked by something as soon as he stepped into the clearing.
"My scarecrows, I'm still trying to get them to behave."
Julian looked again at the still scarecrows and turned back to Thad, but before he could ask what that meant Thad offered him a cloth bundle that looked quite heavy. Where did that came from? "You said you're part of the guild, right? Could I ask you for a favour? Marlon wanted me to make these for him but I… would rather avoid walking all the way to the mountains. Or talking with him for that matter" That cold smile was back now. "Would you mind delivering these from me next time you visit him? No rush, he isn't expecting them at a certain date."
"Sure, I will have to talk with him soon anyway". Julian accepted the wrapped bundle of cloth, still feeling slightly tense, and stashed it into his backpack.
"Great, thank you! I'll pay you back if Marlon doesn't do it, not sure how those adventuring commissions work."
Julian looked at the setting sun before apologizing, still feeling eyes on his back. "I should go, it's getting late."
"Of course, do you want me to guide you back?" Thad looked unsure, like he didn't know how to handle sudden visitors.
"No no, please don't bother. I know the way I came though."
"Alright then, have a good evening." Thad turned back to his log, and Julian now noticed it was looking like a sculptured rabbit.
"Good night!" Then Julian started walking back towards the exit. Suddenly, half way there he felt the hairs on his neck stand up. He tuned his head slightly towards his right and he noticed that the closest scarecrow was crouched on it's stick, ready to jump at him over the small fence protecting the crops. Julian's hand went back to his sword, ready to fight his way out if needed. He could swear he just heard distant whispers.
"Willow, no! What the fuck did I just told you?!" He heard footsteps approaching and noticed Thad rushing towards him while pointing straight at the scarecrow. "Get back on your perch, what did I told you about attacking visitors?!"
The scarecrow focused fully on Thad and prepared to jump at him. Julian pulled his sword out of it's sheath and stepped closer. What is even going on? There definitely whispers around him and he realized the other scarecrows were now looking at them too. Thad didn't moved at all, he was staring straight at 'Willow' while pointing at it. "Perch, Willow. Now!"
The scarecrow made another small movement to jump, before stopping still. It hesitated a little but then started to step back down from the top of it's perch. The whispers died down to murmurs Julian could barely hear, and the other scarecrows were looking at the ground again. A huge tension felt like it was lifted and the air got lighter… like the whole area had been waiting for something to happen.
Julian wanted to ask, but felt like it's better to not get involved in… whatever was going on, especially since the sun had fully set at this point. Something was telling him to not be here once darkness falls.
Just as he was about to exit the clearing he looked back. Thad was loudly scolding the scarecrow who was back in it's original position, looking just as inanimate as the moment he stepped foot here.
*
Julian, still sleepy, looked over the list of things he had to do today. Give a bundle of yams to Marnie, find some coal for Clint, fish a bream later for the Junimos and deliver the weird package he got from Thad to Marlon. And if he still had time, chop down some trees for that barn upgrade. Maybe he should focus on the wood first, winter was approaching fast and his animals would be happier in a more insulated building.
He grabbed his still warm cup of coffee and walked out of the house. A chicken immediately ran up to him and clucked enthusiastically at him until he picked it up and started to gently scratch it's neck. The chicken settled into his arms and fluffed up it's feathers happily, enjoying the pets and Julian's warmth. He looked towards his mailbox and noticed a small purple satchel placed under it with a letter attached. He decided to place his cup of coffee on the windowsill as to not disturb the now sleepy chicken and picked up the purple cloth bag. After a little struggle he managed to open the letter.
"Sorry about my scarecrow last evening. Something went wrong when I made it and Rasmodius is still annoying me about it. Anyway, as a payment for that and for delivering that package for me here's a thing you might find useful. It's fairy dust, I can't use it but I heard you're trying to get the old farm running again so you might find something to use it on. Just try to use in winter, when there are less fairies around, alright? I don't think they were very happy when I took this from them and I'm not sure if they can feel if you use the dust or not. Anyway, thanks again for the help."
Maybe he should speak with Magnus about that, Julian thought. Or at least Marlon since he'll visit the guild later in the evening. He looked at the now sleeping chicken and regretfully put it back on the ground, trying to ignore the indignant sounds. The day needs to start at some point and he'd like to finish his coffee while it's still warm.

@1mpulsee [Continued from here]
Thad doesn't agree or disagree with Bart, this wasn't the time for insults or rubbing salt in old wounds as he stared down Bart, despite how the other refused to look at him. All Thad wanted was to genuinely understand what he couldn't. Instead, of his usual bickering and arguing he shows the younger speedster patience as he quietly listens to him.
"Everyone dies at some point, Bart. " Thad says with a cross of his arms. His tone isn't harsh in the least, but rather he points the fact out, "You're not special. Everyone's going to die at some point."
But as for the rest of what the younger speedster had said, Thad's brow furrowed at Bart with thought. Thad wasn't like Bart. He didn't want to die. Not again, not so soon. Though he hadn't always been that way.
Tumblr media
"You sound like you're more begrudgingly resigned to what you think is your fate than unafraid." He comments. Bart could joke about it all he wanted, but for a moment he thought he saw through the other speedster. Or maybe he hadn't, but that doesn't stop him from saying, "It's like you've given up in a way?" Like he had given up on everything?
"I feel like that's worse than being miserable or scared of dying." He says folding his arms over his chest with the same perplexed expression as before, "If you don't care about dying. Do you care about living?" He asked.
Thad lets out a sigh. If there was anything that he was sure of it was this: "I feel bad for you." And he meant it.

I'm back!
Anita Fite x Slo-bo?
Ship It!!
What made you ship it?
Slo-bo's empathy for Anita and affection for her when her father died, even though it wasn't HIM Anita dated. He knew what she had confided to Lobo and he knew how much she hurt losing him.
2.) What are your favorite things about the ship?
They SEE each other and know just what to say.
3.) Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
I'm not sure if this is unpopular and it's not singular to their ship but I think it was a screwed up thing to have Anita basically have to retire from being a hero, something she wanted to do with everything in her body, to be parent to her parents. Like if I were given free reign on a continuation I would throw in some magic stuff to age her parents back to their original ages with all their memories intact so Anita could pick up where she left off. Also Slo-bo should not have "died" and HIS end was fucked up too because he didn't DIE he was Thad Thawned which is arguably worse.

The Thad Thawne and Shigaraki rant
Gonna go and preface this with I'm absolutely sure some people will disagree with me and that's fine. Also gonna say there's probably a fair chance no one knows who tf inertia is so. Just roll with me I'll explain as much as my little brain can
ALSO I'm going to be referring to the OG run and Thad's kid zoom run and that ending. I've admittedly taken massive steps away from DC and I think there was stuff with his character post 2016 that I haven't read enough of. Clear? Okay.
Tw- gonna be a long post, mentions of abuse, creepy older men, spoilers for both series's
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thaddeus starts out his life as a clone of another character, Bart Allen and he's raised by his "father figure" president Thawne to just be a hateful little bastard really. Thad is a means to end for him and his only goal is to get rid of Bart - a lot of his initial characterisation in the impulse comics comes from his mission and relationship (or lack there of) to Bart.
Tomura was abused by his dad (to some extent anyway we can talk about that in a separate post) and after accidentally killing his family he's taken in by the story's big bad, All for one (AFO) who uses him as a means to an end, both grooming him to be his replacement body (we'll get there don't worry) and using him as the punchline to a joke with his nemesis. See tomura is the grandson of Nana shimura, the teacher and mother figure to All Might, one of the big damn heroes in MHA.
So already they're both starting strong with heavy connections to hero's and heroic families. They're trained and groomed by older men as a means to an end that ultimately isn't really their fight.
The next thing is a smaller thing, it's heavily implied that if That's were shown kindness and love he would have turned out well...not a murderous maniac but when he's offered that chance he ultimately declines, and that's in and of itself a nuances thing but ultimately he's never "saved". Tomura was left to the mercy of his family who he described as "rejected him" and when he kills them he's left traumatized and scared (he's only 5) wandering the streets and no one, absolutely no one comes to help, he's even more or less shooed off by a lady - it's all for one that comes to his rescue and takes him in, ultimately leading him down a hard track. Obviously there's differences here but the theme of needing someone in a moment and not getting it (too late in Thad's case and not a real saviour in tomuras) is interesting I think.
Last thing I wanna talk about and it's related to current events in MHA (as of ch374) so this might change but I doubt it.
Thad's story more or less ends with him dawning a new villain title 'Kid Zoom' - the sidekick for Zoom, one of the reverse flashes and after a series of reasonably complicated events he's eventually killed...by the other rogues from the flash's rogue's gallery. Which I always thought was super disappointing. In the end Thad ended up the same way he started - a tool for other villains and despite having what was a wonderfully interesting concept and potential he was reduced to yet another cog in the Allen's Vs Thawnes conflict.
Seem familiar? Yeah that's cuz Tomura is currently in the same position. Reduced to a means to an end in a longstanding grievance battle. All for One is possessing his body and it's looking like his only out is having izuku (the protag) save him which...just doesn't sit right with me like this for various reasons. MHA has increasingly become about the all for one Vs one for all conflict and tomura (and izuku) have become cogs in a conflict that wasn't even theirs. It's inherited. It's not a writing decision I'm a fan of, and people are more than welcome to disagree or argue with me.
Okay sorry for the rant but I'm sure I'll end up adding more to this as days go by
@multi-lefaiye this is your fault for enabling me (but thank you)

Title: When I see your smile
Ship: Thuzi
Genre: Romance, wholesome(fluff), a *th*ad of glass(angst)(the h is silent bc french )
(No one's pov)
Life on copper 9 was ruthless. You had to hide or die, you couldn't have freedom without death, and you couldn't have a life without being locked behind walls. Wasn't it so infuriating? Living behind doors. Living behind these empty hollow walls?
That's why she wanted to become the most dangerous drone there was.
That's why he wanted to become the strongest drone there was.
Avenge those fallen and take revenge on those responsible for what has happened in the past that determined this present, and that is doomed to represent their future.
To protect those unable to protect themselves, to protect the future of the colony and all the innocent lives in it, like a guardian, like a knight, like a true hero.
Then it came to her, a perfect idea. A railgun. She could do it with such ease. With her intelligence and skills, before you knew it in just under a month she has made the most dangerous weapon known to this world they live on.
Then it came to him, the perfect idea. To train so hard, and to be the bravest that there was. With his patients and determination, before you knew it he was the most popular jock in school, and the most appreciated person in all of the colony, everyone knew him, and just few special knew of his dream...
Maybe she hated her old man, but she had to admit somewhere in herself that if he didn't have such programming for engineering, she wouldn't have had it as well, but that didn't matter, well, it did, it mattered so much, despite all that she feels in her. Despite what she feels like late at night trying to figure out where she is going wrong, she wants to make him proud, at least this once, at least once, once at least...
Maybe he wasn't always around the best company, but he had to admit somewhere in himself that if he was always around good people, he wouldn't have this fire flowing through his veins to become even better, because when all is sunshine, you tend to become docile and forget your ideas.
Two lovely drones with nothing in common, isn't that right now, hm? Well what if I told you, that there was more then meets the eye? What if I told you that the outcast and the most popular drone were brought closer by fate in a way that you couldn't even imagine in this life?
Two broken mirrors hanging on a wall each shattered by the inner demons. In on a girl looked at herself with despair, in another the boy looked at himself with hatred.
'Freak' 'Outcast' 'You freak us out' 'Ew it didn't kill her' but the final blow, what really got her down, the look in her father's eyes. Looking at her as if searching for something as if she was a fragment of the past he so desperately missed, and she couldn't live up to it, no matter what, so, she decided to be better than it.
I didn't stand a chance. That disassembly drone moped the floor with me!' 'Weak!' 'Hahahahaha! Come on Thad! Be more realistic!' 'Pffft sure, you can't spell your ABC's but you want to be a WDF? HAH!' Ever since he can remember, he has learned one thing, if you tell anyone about your dreams they will give you their opinions on them, and not all are kind, but what drove him the most was for the hatred he had for himself. He had to get better. He had to...
That is what they think, that is what they tell themselves, that they do it to be something, to be worth something, to be someone. Heh. Petty little liars these two, don't cha think? Because they already knew why they were doing all of this, but they forgot, but not their heart, never their heart.
"Hey!!! Leave her alone!"A boy's voice shouted as a couple others laughed. "Is that your boyfriend?" a girl teased. "Let's get outta here!" Another panicked one said as she ran off with her friends.
Uzi had bitter tears running down her cheeks as she was sitting on the ground, one leg laid and another standing up. She scrapped her knee when one of those girls pushed her. 'Freak!' 'Weirdo!' 'Creepy!' all said with a smile, such cruelty.
"Uzi! Are you ok?" Thad asked as he knelt down. They were maybe four or five that day. Thad had a chipped tooth, so, sometimes, just sometimes, some words he said sounded weird. "Y-yeah." The girl said looking away. "You're injured!" "I'm fine Thad..." Thad used his jacket and used it as a bandage for her wound, it quickly dirtied in her oil. "?!" "There! Is this better?" He asked with a beaming smile as he looked at her with hopeful bright eyes. "Yeah, but, you're jacket..." Uzi said quietly. "Who cares about that? Come on." Thad said getting up and giving her a hand. His green emerald eyes, his warm charming smile and his perfect sun kissed hair as if it was made out of sun rays. Uzi blushed lightly and got up on her own. "I'm not a baby!" "I didn't say you are one..." Thad said confused rubbing the back of his neck as Uzi huffed as she continued to have a small blush on her visor. "Are you ok?" "Stop asking! I'm fine!" She said huffing. Thad just chuckled, even now he remembers how they met.
"Hahahaha! You can't even spell your ABC's and you want to be in the WDF?!" "L-leave me a-a-alone!" Thad had a slight problem with his voice box, which caused him to stutter. A boy pushed him, then another, and another... "HEY! LEAVE HIM ALONE YOU MEANIES!" A girl's voice rang. "Oh look, the purple freak! What are you gonna-" The boy didn't finish his sentence for Uzi punched him in the face without hesitation, the other two boys got afraid and ran eating the dust as soon their 'fallen' friend joined them, crying for his mommy. "Are you ok?" "Y-yea-A-h." Thad said looking at the strange girl with a small blush. "Did they damage your vocie box?" "Oh- n-no tha-aAT-h's how i-i-iT iS-sSs." When he as nervous it would get worse. He looked away embarrassed. "Oh... I think it's cool! It's different, so that's nice." Uzi said bluntly. "R-really?" Uzi nodded as Thad blushed a bit more.
The two kids began to play together after that, every single day.
"I'll be the next WDF leader!" Thad announced proudly while walking with Uzi to the nursery. "Ugh, really? Well, please do, dad's never around...What even is so great about it?" Uzi said mumbling the dad part between her teeth as she looked at the ground sadly before looking back at Thad puzzled. "Cuz! I will be fighting murder drones, and I'll keep everyone safe and- and no one will hurt you!" Thad exclaimed with pure joy. He looked so proud of himself, as a soft gentle green blush rested on his visor as Uzi looked at him in disbelief as her own cheeks got a tad purple. "Well, I won't need protection!" Uzi said crossing her arms as she began to walk in front as Thad's face dropped, turning puzzled as he looked at her so lost. "How so?" He asked as he rushed to catch up with her. "Because I will destroy the murder drones! I will be an awesome solo and amazing fighter!" "Sooo, a hero?" "Not a hero! A...a...I don't know what but not that! I refuse to go by the social norms of this society!" Uzi said so sure of herself as if she came from another world, as if she wasn't from this colony and from somewhere where worker drones eat murder drones for breakfast. "Well... why?" Thad asked so confused. "Cuz you can't look after me if you can't even look after yourself." Uzi said in the heat of the moment but then realised her words. "I- I didn't mean it like that I meant- I meant I am tired of you looking out for me, so, I'll spin the ship around and lead!" "Why a ship?" Thad seemed completely oblivious to Uzi's earlier comments. "Cuz... on ships there is a captain...and a captain is the one who leads on a ship...?" Uzi didn't know what she was saying either. "Checks out." Thad said simply as he shrugged.
Thad looked up at Uzi's father. Founder of WDF. Little did he know back then what a father he, better said, wasn't... as for Uzi, she looked up at Thad's bravery. She always acted on impulses, he acted on courage, and that inspired her.
She wanted to be the most powerful, but it was so hard...she lacked the courage he had. He on the other hand appreciated her as his best friend, but, he lacked that fire that she had, and he was never able to tell her what he felt. Oh to be young and clueless...
The years went by, they drifted apart, and yet...every time Uzi went to the nurse's office, Thad was close behind, it just became an instinct, he just...knew when she was there, and even if they didn't talk everyday, even if they didn't see each other all of the time... they still talked as if they did every single day, neither realised it, but both felt a comforting feeling deep in their core when they got to talk with each other.
God how they drifted, Gow how they knew everything of each other and now they knew nothing and yet...
Outside of the colony, late at night, after a lovely little walk outside, Thad's idea, to catch up with Uzi, check on her, as he has become more concerned for her well being, Uzi tried to ran off, constantly checking the hour as if the sunrise meant she'd die, but it was far from sunrise, it was midnght for goodness sake!
'What if I snap? What if I hurt him? What if- Oh Robo-Jesus what if I- No, no, no. I can't control myself, this was a bad idea, why am I so stupid? Stupid! Stupid!' Uzi thought to herself as she ran off, as the snow helplessly crushed under her feet.
'Did I say something? Did I do something? No, wait, please. I am sorry. Come back. I didn't mean to drift apart from you, I just- I became so focused on all of these sports to be stronger- please.' Thad thought as he reached his hand out. No. These weren't his dreams and when he'd wake up nothing would have happened.
"UZI!" He screamed on top of his lungs as he bolted from his spot, running after her. Uzi froze in her place, confused, as her eyes widen in shock while she turned around. Before she knew it Thad was right in front of her, as if he was as fast as a disassembly drone. How did he...?
He was desperate. 'Run. Run you fool, you will loose her! RUN!' His mind screamed at her as his heart cried out for her. But the closer he got, the more unsure he became, what to do? What can he do? Embrace her? No, that would be so sudden... ki- no, no, that's not even in the equation that would be so weird, so then what, what could he possibly do, say, to make this less awkward, to... to make her feel better...? To make her feel better around him?
Uzi's eyes widen even more if possible as she looked at him in utter shock, unable to respond to what she saw before her, unable to move. The way he moved, like an animal pushing it's limits for the last chase of their life, as if it was this or nothing, as if...as if what he was chasing was always there but he didn't see it until it was almost too late...almost.
The moon shined upon the two drones, here, in the middle of nowhere in this God forsaken winter wasteland, nothing more, nothing less other then the two of them and the cold of the night. The moon light shinning against their metal surface, as if putting in the spotlight, two snowflakes, or better said ninja star's since they were snow-flake shaped sort of, made out of iron.
Thad's body acted without him knowing, acted without him thinking, acted before he could because his senses knew that he wouldn't be able to think it through in time. He found himself kneeling before her, taking her hands into his. His hands so beaten up. Basketball, box, dodgeball, boxing, so many sports that he signed up for hoping to toughen him up. Her hands, so precise and gentle to be able to engineer such fascinating things, yet such dangerous deadly weapons that took away more than one life.
"Please, I love you." he said breathlessly without skipping a beat as his green eyes, like the fresh lively grass that appears in spring looked into her purple galaxy eyes. She didn't know what to say, didn't know what to do, as he stood there, knelt before her.
As if he was making an oath, a knight to it's princess. "Please." he said again.
Before Uzi's eyes flashed the image of a boy that once upon a long time ago she defended from some 'meanies', the same look of fear, confusion and innocence in his perfect green eyes. A boy she always followed with the edge of her visor, to ensure at least he was doing fine, like a queen looking out for her loyal knight.
Before Thad's eyes flashed the image of a girl that once upon a long time ago, he stood by her side for so long yet lost himself in the training he took upon himself to be strong enough to protect her, like a loyal knight fighting life day and night to become enough to protect the queen that has made him what he is.
Uzi didn't have words. What words could you possibly have in such a moment? Neither did he have any, but those were the only things he was able to split out, and he had no clue what he'd say if she spoke, he'd make something up, find something in this hurricane of feelings, anything just to not leave her hanging. But words...plenty meaningless words are the poverty of one, aren't they?
So, they did what the most primal animal knows how to do when showing joy, and she took the first, just like she did so, so, so many times. She smiled. That perfect smile of hers. The smile he hasn't seen since they were young kids. That smile when she said so proudly that she won't need his protection, before quickly and nervously trying to explain that she won't need it because she will look out for him, and what else could he do? He smiled like the fool her was. His true genuine smile that was only ever given to her, followed by a few tears in his green perfect eyes.
"Heh..." He said breathlessly as he got up warping his hands around him as she hesitantly warped her hands around him as well. Two fools smiling without even knowing what they are smiling for and yet...this made them the happiest they have been since the last time they were together.
The end
