I’ve only just watched the first episode of the new Taskmaster today, and the thing is, everyone’s rightfully cracking up at John’s line about the 2 hours spent working out health and safety and insurance with the producers, it’s very funny, but it genuinely took me a little while to remember how funny it is. It’s the John exposure. As a regular listener to the Elis and John radio shows over the years, you just know that this is genuinely how John is. He’ll mention—and probably even get excited to go over the nerdy details of what counts in the car insurance, I can swear he’s done that on Radio X before. He’s the guy that will do an hour long standup special concerning slotted spoons (with a side of anxiety). He’s wildly funny, but to listeners of the Elis and John shows, this is just Friday afternoon.

anyway, pokémon is a fairly easy series to get into! you can play any games without knowing shit about anything, but you can notice things here and there if you play the other games!

my personal reccomendation is pokémon gold / silver / crystal, ruby / sapphire / emerald, heartgold / soulsilver (the gsc remakes), and black / white + black 2 / white 2! (because these are my absolute favorites, i am insane about these games)

I don't own a DS unfortunately, but there's always playthroughs online 🧐 The most I know about pokemon is some episodes of the shows I've seen've seen on tv, and I really liked Team Rocket and I got upset every time they lost 😭 I also know the names of some pokemon, but not a notable amount.

Schell was fired too incidentally‚ lasting longer than Damon‚ but Gene seems to have just hated sharing the limelight #with anyone and eventually had her taken off the series. even Barry Morse‚ a well known Very Nice Man‚ had nothing good to say about #Gene B.... which says a lot. yeesh. #oh but one minor bit of trivia while we're on the subject of assassinations (the ep remember?): for all his many faults as a tv show lead #Gene was also an astute political campaigner and supported the democrats throughout his life with contributions and personal appearances as #well as friendship and advice: he was particularly involved with Bobby Kennedy's campaign and was in fact present at his killing
