CYL Chrom lines!!!!! x & x
Tumblr media
After ten years and they still refuse to use the Holy King lmao. At this point it would be weird to suddenly say holy king and not exalt. but anyway www krumb!!! this is most likely a version after the horse knight chrom hmm perhaps. because he does sound ..oldish and calm than ever. maybe.
Tumblr media
yes. kill me softly mwahaha.....neesa ;;u;; man stop doubting yourself. had it not been the right path frederick and lissa would have bonked you already.
Tumblr media
thats a good line because it shows that what he says about the armor taking effort and time and is the pride of ylisse and how comfortable he is in it. in jp he says he got used to it; it feels comfortable to wear so its just the usual.
Tumblr media
覚悟はしている。 is basically chrom. always ready and prepared to accept what is to come. aaaa justice sobs. i think each armor got the iris flower somehow as the design on them if i am not mistaken sdldksgskljg chrom got even the butterfly design on his shoulder guard. not this chrom but the OG.
Tumblr media
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;u;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; time who bitch. that was your daughter bitch stop taking her thing. *sobs* suddenly shinzou sasageyo plays in the background lmao
Tumblr media Tumblr media
do we tell him that ... there are not ONE fell dragon but ...*counts* four? ...gulps.
Tumblr media
oh god... i think the english is so misleading AF.... why english why???
basically “acting like a king is stifling for me. I rather go on patrols (his nature to that/ feels comfortable). So, let me tag along with you for a while.
BITCH FROM ‘EW BEING KING IS MEH’ to ‘im comfortable being one of the boys’ bitch??????????? dunno if this is me but that vibe i got from the english line man. i thought he was doubt moment but didnt make sense with the next sentence??? it is weird phrasing tbh. let me know if this is just me
Tumblr media
change fate baby~
Tumblr media
god english makes chrom so ....the line literally point out how traumatized chrom seeing people DIE IN FRONT OF HIM! why ...’i will not let anyone else be lost’ wtf is this crap?
Tumblr media
n a k a m a ~ his nakahomies are his power ;;u;;
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i give you this english. you did good on expanding a little bit of chrom lines. just a little bit. still crying about krumb fayre embrum man was not ready to become a king and he was thrown into this. fate is a cruel baitch. JUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSITCE!!!!!!!!! looks at his dad. you missed on this man growing up to be a fine man smh.
lays on the ground ... so much to say about this but it will be redundant. it was a slow realization moment for chrom what happened and what he is supposed to do.
Tumblr media
break dance and dabs. great lord. master lordo lmao. but yeah seems like this is his ...first time wearing ...it? dunno. unsure about this or he is referring to the ‘u train then u get to wear it’ anyway this is probably throwback to levelling up and getting a master seal mhm
Tumblr media
trying to understand what this line do ... mmm ....funny. means summoner is op lmao.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
listen. listen. listen.
i dont blame him for saying this. the lucina they mention is the older one--he barely knows her dudes. she is her own person and he does not want to be imposing on her to ask of every little thing so cant say he noticed a lot of things in common between them on the spot.
Tumblr media
it is funny that JP he breaks walls, in ENG he breaks training dummies
me: FUCKING BREAKING EVERYTHING BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! within reason. lol
this is one of the jokes i like but dont test me by overusing it otherwise i will hunt your ass.
anyway, let chrom say sorry cowards.
Tumblr media
*wearing my clown outfit* i commented that in english he didnt say emmeryn but it was there...they just didnt put it. wth intelsys? do you have this hidden agenda against best fire emblem girl? i will fight you. come at me. I THROW MY GUANTLET AT YOU. FIGHT ME COWARDS. FIGHT ME! I REQUEST A DEATH BATTLE!
sigh. neesa... i know it is a culture thing but i always find it sweeter when chrom calls her neesa /big sis rather than just her name. anyway. sad feels.
Tumblr media
work this lad to death. he would not mind. just dangle the word bond in front of him and watch him go.
Tumblr media
im not gonna critique these because ...no i am going--i will always prefer sugita take on chrom being serious and not just ‘ehe coming thru~’ and ‘believe in me~’ OOOOOOOO i love mar merc dont get me wrong but ...they cheery tune he adds kind of...does not match with a man running with a sword and literally fighting for his life. like if it was inigo yeah i get it or owain or anyone else but not chrom. he is in battle mode and just wants this to be over with. uuughhh.... like. you can feel that there is an action being done in jp and eng he is just saying the words..u know..im sorry. i love eng at times but... u can never beat sugita-han.
anyway. my ted talk is over. thanks for good food. i will look at these again and see what i can use for my krumb.

Three Houses’ and Fandom’s Discussion On Ideals/Story Rant
My main issue with Three Houses ‘Grey Morality’ discourse and all of the “No one’s truly right or wrong in this war!!! That’s the point!!!’ is that the way the war is written is incredibly lopsided.
How can you reasonably say no side is truly more right or wrong than the other when Edelgard has had a major head start since the beginning of the game, and the Kingdom and Alliance are fighting against being literally conquered and assimilated?
The conflict was not born from some brewing tension between the nations or some continent wide political uprising or any kind of established inciting incident. It literally comes out of nowhere. It’s makes no sense to say it’s a war where each side is fighting for their ideals when it’s just Edelgard fighting for her ideals and everyone else defending their homes because they don’t want to die.
Why is the story suddenly about ideals? There doesn’t need to be some broad moral discussion about why you’re fighting, you literally got taken by surprise and now your homes and families are being threatened because of one person’s vision for the world.
Compare to other games in the series.
The Tellius games, most notably Radiant Dawn. The major conflict at the end of Radiant Dawn is predicated on the folly of Ashunera’s creations and the inevitability of conflict, and is ignited when all nations engage in war and Ashera’s judgement is released in response. It took two games worth of build up and backstory for this to come to fruition, this was an overarching plot with a goal.
The Jugdral games? The war in Part 2 of Genealogy as well as Thracia 776 are the result of Sigurd’s actions being manipulated in Part 1 by the Loptr sect and Arvis’ own goals. Not only that, but it beautifully ties into the rest of the world’s isolated struggles, such as Travant’s goals for Thracia and the civil war in Silesse.
Awakening? Ylisse and Plegia had tension for years before the game started, with Chrom’s dad launching his crusade, as well as bandit attacks, kidnappings, and an attempt on Emmeryn’s life. This eventually leads into Validar’s later machinations as well.
Fates? Hoshido and Nohr have been in conflict ever since the time of the First Dragons’ fight to control the world. Humans were selected to wield the legendary weapons specifically so they could be dragged into the conflict. And all it takes is 6 chapters and Corrin’s backstory to give a solid foundation for the beginning full scale war.
Hell, even with the other games in the series which have a surprise war, the difference between those and Three Houses is that they don’t try to make the war or story about something it’s not. Sacred Stones is strictly about Lyon’s insecurity and desperation for power to protect his people leading Fomortiis to corrupt him; Binding Blade is strictly about Zephiel’s disgust for humanity leading to the resurrection of dragons; the Archanea games are strictly about Gharnef fuckin around with manaketes and dark magic because he was scorned by his teacher.
Three Houses’ conflict tries to be both a surprise and an inevitability but imo fails at both. I really think there needed to be more people involved in reviewing the story, to fact check, and to keep consistency/cohesion, especially for such an ambitious project.

An anon's complete list of headcanons on the WoL intro
So, yeah. This is what I headcanon happened to every fighter during the World of Light intro. But just for fun, I’m not using names, only numbers. So without further ado…
• Mario and Peach disregarded all logic and ran for each other, knowing they were doomed and wanting to be together. The sick part was, the light didn’t touch them until their outstretched fingers were mere inches away from each other. • Donkey Kong knew only one thing in his final moments: he wanted Diddy Kong to live. But all he could do was launch him into the air, hoping his rocket barrel would carry him the rest of the way (spoiler alert: it didn’t). • (Young) Link, Sheik, and Ganondorf were cursed with the knowledge that they would die here. They knew they had to go down fighting, and that’s exactly what they did. • Samus kept fighting even after she saw Link die, knowing she could do nothing else. • Dark Samus quickly realized there was no point in getting others to fight for her, and she tried to flee, just like so many others. • Yoshi ran. He ran as fast as he could, hoping to carry Jigglypuff, Olimar, and Alph on his back to safety. It just didn’t work. • Fox had an agreement with Falco. If things went wrong, Falco was gonna get out of there as fast as possible and call for help while Fox faced his fate. He knew what was coming for him. • Sonic tried to save Pikachu. We all cried. It was very emotional at the time. • Since Luigi and Daisy were standing at the back of the group, they had an agreement with Bowser that they would get Bowser Jr. and the Koopalings to safety if anything went wrong. When things did go wrong, they lost track of one, but in the end, they shielded the other seven from the horror that awaited them. • Ness and Lucas ran for their lives together. In the end, Ness tripped, and Lucas shielded him in vain. • Captain Falcon didn’t even get a chance to run. • Bowser fought back, knowing he had people at home and with him depending on him. His last thought was of his children, but he didn’t see Bowser Jr. running up behind him just to be with him. • The Ice Climbers held each other in fear, drawing comfort from the one person who understood most. • Zelda and Mewtwo were hopeful, which is the only reason why they shielded themselves at all, but they were also smart enough to know that, without a miracle, they were all done for. • Dr. Mario went looking for his sons, but he couldn’t find them. He died after they did. • Snake’s attempt at hiding seemed hilarious at the time, until he sadly admitted he had been hiding Pichu and Isabelle. • With tears in his eyes, Marth tried to fight back. He died a broken man, having helped lead this massive army and knowing he had failed them. • For once, Lucina didn’t have to protect anyone. Instead, she was held and protected by the people who loved her the most. • Young Link rewound time over and over and over again, until he realized there was just no fighting this. In the end, he let the light take him. • Roy hid with Toon Link. The light had stolen the courage from the Young Lion and the Wind Waker. • Chrom knew only one thing: he had to protect his baby girl. He died holding her, trying not to cry, his two best friends at his back guarding them. • Mr. Game & Watch didn’t understand completely, but knew beyond a doubt that this light thing was not good. He hid too. But since he was made of shadow, the light actually hurt him when it touched him. • Meta Knight and King Dedede could only watch a miracle in the distance. They knew beyond a doubt that they were not getting out of here, but they could see that star and know it meant hope. • Pit and Dark Pit thought they were safe until their wings stopped working. They knew what happened in that exact moment: Pit’s patron goddess was dead, and they were next. • Wario didn’t even get a chance to pull out his bike before he was taken. Good thing too, he would’ve trampled over so many if he had. • Ike did what he did best: he fought for his friends. • Charizard, Ivysaur, and Squirtle stood defiant, even as their trainers urged them to leave. They refused to leave them even in this desperate hour. • Lucario, Greninja, and Bayonetta felt foolish later, as they all dodged one beam only to get hit by another. However, Bayonetta found the courage to laugh about this once it was over. • R.O.B. only stood and cried (or as close as a robot can get to doing so), hoping to be reunited with his family. • Wolf wanted to run, but he absolutely refused to go down without a proper fight. Plus, if Fox was staying, so was he. • Villager panicked and couldn’t even hide in time. • Mega Man fought back and just hoped the light wouldn’t get his dad, sister, and brother back home. His hopes were dashed later. • Knowing what was coming, the Wii Fit Trainers just tried to calm themselves down. • Rosalina wanted to stay with her friends, but she was a mother. She couldn’t abandon her children like this, and if she asked Mario and Peach, they’d have agreed with her. It was the only comfort she had when she died. • Little Mac didn’t even know what to do, so he ran. • Mii Brawler died alone and he died later than the rest of them. He saw his friends, the Mii Swordfighter and Mii Gunner, too late and he couldn’t even go to them. • As for Mii Swordfighter, he shielded the Mii Gunner though he knew it was futile. They both hoped the Mii Brawler didn’t see them. • Palutena was one of three people who secured their hope for rescue, and unlike Falco’s failed attempt to call for help, she succeeded. She called to other dimensions, other deities, hoping something would work as she tried to get Pit and Dark Pit to safety. • Pac-Man didn’t know what to do, he’d never been through anything like this before! • The Robins went down with a unified blast of thunder. They had their best friends behind them to protect, and that’s what they were going to do.  • Shulk refused to be totally helpless in his final moments. He made sure their last hope, their miracle, got out safely.  • The Duck Hunt Duo went down as a pair, one wanting to hide but refusing to leave his best friend alone.  • Ryu channeled his honor and tried to fight.  • Ken decided to screw honor and retreated, but that’s only because he wanted to see his wife and son one last time. He didn’t get the chance to.  • Cloud charged at Galeem. …He doesn’t know what he was thinking either.  • The Corrins went down together, fighting and protecting the one other person who truly understood their struggles and pain.  • The Inklings tried to hide in their own ink…they weren’t ready. They didn’t know what to expect when they accepted that invitation, but it so was not this.  • Ridley only thought of himself. He wanted to run, and damn it, that’s what he did.  • Simon gave a final word of encouragement to Richter. They refused to meet their maker scared.  • King K. Rool fought back, defending Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong, his former enemies turned friends.  • Incineroar hadn’t been this scared since he was a Litten. But he put up a brave front and went down fighting, with a massive grin on his face.  • Piranha Plant, Joker, the Heroes, and Banjo & Kazooie were actually saved by Palutena before they could officially be brought into the fight. She contacted their deities and told them to hide their chosen champions in the space between dimensions, where they’d be safe, and to only bring them out when the time was right. They were forever indebted to her, but they couldn’t save their friends. Later, when everything was over, they all decided to stay in the world of Smash.  • As for Kirby…well, they all had to be saved somehow, right?
(submitted by anonymous)
I changed the #s to the character names just to make things easier on others.
Also I’m going to add to some of these because I can and I want to.
When Fox told Falco the plan, there was a lot of initial refusal on Falco’s part, which only stopped when Fox yelled at Falco five minutes away from the expected arrival of Galeem, at which Falco had no more time to be oppositional. Fox was making sure Falco got in the Arwing and fled, even if it meant he had to drag him kicking and screaming into the Arwing and lock him inside.
Captain Falcon had no plans to run. His initial plan was to try to attack from inside the Blue Falcon because if he was fast enough, he didn’t think Galeem could catch him. That all changed when he saw just how quickly people were being lost.
Dr. Mario realized what had happened to his kids in the split instant before Galeem’s beam hit him.
The moment when Young Link realized there was no stopping Galeem was when he found one (1) possible solution to stop Galeem before he attacked and save everyone, only to have Dharkon arrive and wipe everyone out instead. He played the Song of Time one last time to go back to Dawn of the First Day, and just stood where he was.
When Mr. Game & Watch was first freed, he started asking a bunch of questions which, if Pac-Man was around to translate at the time, would have been translated to, “Is that this realm’s version of Dharkon? Am I gonna have to leave this realm too? Where am I gonna go? …Wait, are we planning on fighting this guy?! Will we have to fight Dharkon too?!”
R.O.B. was hoping and praying that he would end up in the Subspace where his people were trapped, because he knew that there was no afterlife for robots (the closest thing is the internet or cloud storage, which he had no access to at that moment).
Pac-Man was off somewhere else when Galeem arrived. He had no knowledge of the invasion until he saw a light beam flying at him for half a second.
K. Rool helped give Donkey Kong an extra height boost to try and get Diddy Kong away (to no avail). Afterwards, Donkey Kong and K. Rool stood behind hoping to try and combat Galeem.
I have my own developed headcanons regarding the DLC fighters but I also like that idea too.

future child. (soren x reader)
anon asked: “*coughs and slides a box a cookies towards you as a bribe* so uh, how about the future child thing with Soren and Summoner? I need this scenario for my emotionally distant FE husband in my life. Thank you in advance if you decide to do it!”
a/n: this is probably SO old so dskjfhsfkfd uhhh thank u to an anon for sending a prompt in for this i thought it was so cute so !!! <3 one emotionally distant husbando comin’ riiiiiight up!
alfonse // sharena \ fjorm & gunnthra // loki \ michalis // shigure \ zelgius // chrom \ ike // hrid \ ninian
quinn walks happily through the market as he searches out the right flowers to buy for his parents. time travel was something he still didn’t understand, despite veronica’s many lectures about it -- he hoped he was back in the right timeline, before any of the tragedies happened.
blush peonies, white lilies, golden sunflowers... none of them seemed like good options. he had to make a good first impression, especially with his father who he knew could be distant sometimes, even if he was loving, in his own way.
at least, with the few memories he has of him.
the purple irises make him perk up, his sharp canines exposed as he skips over to them. the memory comes as soon as it goes:
his father, dressed up for a festival, smiling at... you, his other parent as he jumps down from his horse. he looks embarrassed, and despite the angry blush on his face he shoves the flowers into your hands. no, not just any flowers, purple irises.
his rubs his temples and quickly forks over the money for the bouquet, a few pieces of gold meant nothing to him if it meant he would get to see you smile again.
“what do you mean the map is all wrong?” you say, not even bothering to give him a more nasty retort. he easily pushes you out of the way, not in a rude way, he just needed to show you what was wrong.
“i mean,” he says, dipping your pen in ink, “you’ve overlooked many aspects of the terrain we’re battling on. it’s really not like you to make frivolous errors such as these. i would hope you’re better than this.”
“i was... tired when i made this.” you cross your arms, sitting yourself up on the table.
“tired could cost people their lives!” he snaps at you. you know he’s right, and that this is just his way of showing you he cares. soren rarely tells his feelings to you outright, instead dancing around them and hoping you pick up on the meaning behind his words. knowing soren for as long as you did (and as closely as you did) makes deciphering his true feelings like second nature, as much as he denies it when you tease him. “as askr’s tactician, you can’t afford to lose even one person, because then that’s on you.”
“i know i just--” you rake a hand through your hair, “i was going to ask you for help anyways... i haven’t been resting much with having to accommodate all the new heroes and such, it’s exhausting.”
“that’s because you go over and above to do those things, you don’t have to befriend everyone in the army,” a twinge of jealousy is in his voice, sometimes he just wanted you to himself. “your job is keeping them alive, nothing more.”
quinn hears familiar voices echoing out of the war room. he was grateful that even though this wasn’t his askr, the castle layout was still familiar. he knew it like the back of his hand, as he has fleeting memories of following your big white coat around the castle, tugging at your sleeves. he smiles, puffing his chest up as he puts his face in the cracked door.
there he sees his parents, so young and full of life. you look healthy, the dark bags under your eyes still there but a bright expression even as you’re being teased by his dad. his dad looks the same as always, his stern expression and light blush etched into his mind like a tattoo.
you two seem to pay no mind to him even as he pushes his head more and more through the small hole in the door. his chest swells with anxiety, the friendly bickering between the two so familiar, but he can’t piece together the whole memory.
“if you’re going to be a creep and spy at least do it well.” soren’s sharp voice cuts through and quinn almost falls forward out of shock. “out with you!”
“soren, be nice... it’s a kid!” you tell them to come in, and he tentatively steps forward, hood masking his face as he white knuckles the bouquet of flowers in his hands. “aw, you brought flowers! are those for soren? they’re his favorites!” soren flushes, giving you the evil eye.
“t-they’re actually for both of you...” he decides now is as good a time as any as he pulls down his hood, revealing his face. you gasp, the kid’s appearance looking uncannily like the goldoan you know so well. he has short choppy green hair, parted in the middle to where you could see his brand on his forehead. his pointy teeth shine as he forces a confident smile.
“soren, i didn’t know your family was able to be summoned! why didn’t you tell me earlier?”
“...because they’re not able to?” he scoffs, “so this is obviously some bad impostor who’s trying to--”
“n-no it’s not that at all! please listen to what i have to say!” soren mutters a snide comment that quinn can’t hear before you tell him to explain himself. “i’m your...”
“out with it already!” you hit soren lightly and tell him to be kind.
   “i’m your son.”
   soren was in denial.
as soon as the words left the boy’s lips he was fighting hard back, wanting any sliver of proof he was telling the truth. it was proof enough for you that he had the same brand -- if it wasn’t soren’s kid then who’s else could he be? none of his other relatives were in askr. you had seen stranger things since your arrival in askr, so you sit back and let him run out of steam.
“soren, that’s enough.” you cut off his endless interrogation. oddly enough, the kid doesn’t even seem phased by soren’s cold behavior, instead answering every question honestly. “you can’t deny this forever. this has happened in askr before, remember robin--”
“yeah but she was married! we’re not... i don’t understand how this could--” for once, he doesn’t have anything smart to say. you beckon quinn over towards you, motioning for him to sit beside you, and he does, his feet hanging off the table as he shyly hands you the flowers. he may look like soren, but he had to have inherited all of your personality.
“it’s okay, we can talk about this more tonight,” you eye him up, giving him the stop being mean look. quinn couldn’t have been much older than eight, maybe ten at the most by his young looks. but, if he was a branded, he could be far older than you and you wouldn’t even know it. “right now, let’s just talk this out like rational adults, okay?”
soren flushes, and lets out a quiet ‘tch’, before you start gently asking quinn more about himself.
“this is... unbelievable.” soren says, pacing like a maniac back and forth in your room. “it’s just-- why me? why us? i’m not... i don’t think i even want kids.” he bites at the skin around his nails, as you roll your eyes, placing the flowers you got in a vase with water. you smile, recognizing them as the same ones soren got for you on valentine’s.
“i don’t understand this either, soren, but listen...” quinn’s soft snores echo through your messy room as he lay there curled up on your bed. “this is something we’ll have to get through together.” you walk closer to him, gently cupping his face with your hand. he scowls, cheeks hot but eventually melts into your hand.
“i’m...” he starts, screwing his eyes shut as if he’s afraid to see your reaction to his words, “i don’t know what to do... what if i...” his voice wavers, but it’s okay, because you know what he fears are. he’s still in the process of opening up to you, and you never wanted him to press himself too far, so instead you just kiss his forehead, right on the brand, before filling in the blanks for him.
“i’m scared too, i’m just as inexperienced as you are but i think if we can take on armies, then a child shouldn’t be too hard to worry about. besides, we have titania who is basically everyone’s mom to help us.”
he opens his bright, red eyes, a soft smile on his lips as he says the next words without even thinking:
   “...thank you.”

New Mystery of the Emblem is complete, and I have many thoughts.
Let’s just start with this: holy shit this was so much more fun than Shadow Dragon.  For three major reasons:
No one is expected to die.  Shadow Dragon bothered me immediately, because I’m required to let someone die in the prologue to escape.  That sucks, and I hated it.  I have never gotten over that, or the expectation to kill more units to access the bonus chapters.  Which, sure, you can argue are optional.  But those characters appear in this game and are recognized, so clearly those happened now didn’t they?!
SUPPORT CONVERSATIONS!  Okay, they’re not like...actual support conversations.  They’re Radiant Dawn style, where you have conversations with allies at your base and only your base.  But there’s a tier of 1-3 for most characters, and they’re essentially support conversations, and god Shadow Dragon was impossible to get in to without those.  Seriously, I may enjoy the gameplay of Fire Emblem overall, but I do not enjoy units for combat performance, I enjoy them for being characters, and thank god they feel like characters this time.
Actually interesting story.  Shadow Dragon was pretty boring, frankly.  Very basic concepts presented, not really a lot going on.  But New Mystery actually expands on a lot of this stuff.  I’ll get into that more below.
Suffice to say, I really enjoyed it more than Shadow Dragon.  I think in terms of ranking, I’d definitely place it above Shadow Dragon, Birthright, Revelation, and Sacred Stones.  Currently I think I’m putting it above Conquest too.  While Conquest is similarly fun to play, New Mystery has the benefit of being more interesting as a story.  I’m hesitant to put it over Echoes, though.  Listen, Echoes sucks as a game.  It’s really not fun to play, almost at all.  New Mystery is fun to play, so this should be obvious.  But while the story is improved, I wouldn’t put it anywhere near the level of Echoes.
See, the main thing with New Mystery is that it filled in gaps that made the world feel more organic than just generic medieval kingdom with magic and dragons and shit.  They delve into what the Fire Emblem here is, about the history of the dragons, and why, say, Tiki’s kept locked away for so long.  Also why Medeus is a villain, and out to eliminate humanity.  Turns out, he was the only Earth Dragon to listen to Naga and convert to a manakete, and even helped guard the seal over the dragons who were slowly losing their minds.  But humans, as soon as they had that advantage, exploited dragons.  Several maps showcase that these deteriorating dragons are being kept in thrall to human tribes who use their power for personal gain.  Exploitation of dragons led Medeus to despise humans, and seek to overthrow them.  Which is pretty cool!  I’m on board with that!  Tiki’s said to also be deteriorating without the seal in place, and that, as a powerful divine dragon, she’s bring ruin to the world if she weren’t contained.  So they basically kept her in stasis to avoid disaster.  Which...okay, Fallen Tiki should’ve just been that.  A feral Tiki that’s no longer all there, instead of just “Gharnef’s power is controlling her.”  Shadow Dragon’s momentarily irritable Tiki wasn’t shit compared to what they implied could happen here.
The trouble is that the game is still pretty basic.  Beyond this bit of worldbuilding, it’s still very much conflict between the kingdoms, again, all ochestrated by Gharnef, who’s working for Medeus.  Again.  They play around more with their themes and set up some cool ideas, but it’s not the most compelling of narratives by any means.  What’s also not helped is that, while support conversations exist to make characters more engaging, it’s not all of them, and not all are done well.  Some supports are just a sort of filling in the gaps.  At least, with the MU they are.  Maybe with other characters they get a bit more.
Speaking of MU, let’s divert a bit to talk about them.  Kris is like...the one MU I have heard universal hate for.  My best guess is that this is due to fans of the original FE3, who didn’t like their inclusion in the first place, because otherwise I have no idea what the problem is.  Kris seems fine.  Really boring, but fine.  The only reason they’re kinda my least favorite is because they’re supposed to be their own character but don’t do anything.  Like, Robin has a personality and is fun, and has a great dynamic with Chrom.  Corrin, for all the faults borne of Fates, feels pretty much like a typical Fire Emblem lord.  Byleth...okay, I don’t like Byleth much, I feel like their inclusion kinda hinders the game’s narrative a little bit, but otherwise they’re pretty blank and exist mostly as a support for the other lords.  But Kris...doesn’t do much of anything.  They don’t really have a dynamic with anyone, including Marth, and are just sort of...generic loyal knight with no knowledge of the world for some reason, and who only ever trained with their now dead grandfather.  Beyond that, they don’t really exude any particular personality.  Which is probably part of the problem with supports; everyone supports with Kris, but they don’t contribute much, so it’s mostly the other character doing stuff at them.  They just don’t have much to do.
With one exception.  We gotta talk about the other, presumably new character: Katarina.  I actually love Katarina.  Which is a shame, I pulled one of her in Heroes once and made her into a manual because I didn’t care.  Oh well.  Anyway, Katarina’s got a pretty solid story behind her, and is one of the more compelling pieces of the plot overall.  She’s part of a band of assassins who were orphans, taken in by Lady Eremiah.  Eremiah is super cut-throat, willing to sacrifice the lives of these children to accomplish her goals, which mostly seem to be serving Gharnef.  While Legion’s boring and lame, Clarine and Katarina are spectacular.  Clarine starts off really obnoxious, and kind of a bitch, but the chapter where she finally falls hit me pretty hard.  Katarina’s supports with Kris also give a bit more context to what had happened, particularly with the talk about how Clarine and Katarina share a birthday, because they never had one but Clarine just decided on a day and that was the end of it.  It’s a really cute dynamic you get to experience kind of in reverse.  You see how bad things have gotten, then get the history of what used to be, and why Katarina couldn’t leave.  Eremiah’s the same.  Gharnef shows up as she’s dying and reminds her of her own history.  The orphanage she worked at was burned to the ground and the children slaughtered in the last war.  In despair, Gharnef appeared and convinced her that if the children were strong, they wouldn’t die so easily, leading her to take in the next wave and train them for strength alone, all the while becoming corrupted by Gharnef’s influence.  That last part aside, pretty compelling.  I do enjoy narratives that play with the idea of kindness being manipulated to a sensible, but corrupted, conclusion.
My main problem is that Gharnef sucks.  He’s not an interesting villain at all.  He just kind of exists, and was largely motivated by getting passed over by his master when it came to who got the cool spells.  He’s a big, stinky baby man whining about not being the favorite, and I could not care less.  Yet he’s supposed to be this grand puppetmaster, of a particularly shitty puppet.  Hardin was an ally in Shadow Dragon, who became an enemy this game.  Why?  Oh, he was mad that Nyna didn’t like him back, and got super buttmad about it.  Which is honestly fair at this point, since they describe it as a depressive episode.  He gets to marry this woman he loves, only to find out she never reciprocated the feeling at all.  Feel like it’s fair to be upset.  But then Gharnef shows up and allegedly corrupts his soul with the Darksphere.  Which...okay, first?  Lame.  Second?  Why do we have that, and why does it do that?  This was a gift from Naga, why the hell is it so dangerous?  Third, super lame!  It takes away all agency Hardin had as a villain and removes it down to “oh, he was possessed.”  Which sucks, because the exact inverse happened for Michalis, and now he’s super cool!
His character arc this game was spectacular!  Showing up to take Minerva away from her captors.  Giving her refuge in the desert and helping her rendezvous with Marth?  There’s something going on, compared to last game where he was just some lame baby man who wanted power.  Minerva says Gharnef lost his hold, and Michalis is like “Oh, no, I would never bend to him.  I killed dad because we disagreed on Macedon fighting to become a major power in the world again, and he tried to have me exiled.  I did it for me, and regret nothing.”  Honestly loved that.  But when asked why he’s helping now, it turns out it’s for their sister.  He talks about how, after he was defeated, he was near death, and the first thing he saw when he came to was Maria kneeling over him, praying to the gods to save him.  He was so touched by her kindness despite his actions, that he’s now solely driven to save her as his final act.  He doesn’t regret his actions, but recognizes that he lost and needs to do something, and god damn if it’s not going to be saving his little sister.  That’s super cool!  I’m so on board with this dude now!  One of the bigger antagonists of Shadow Dragon who offered almost nothing became a big favorite in the game with a single conversation!  I feel like that encapsulates the difference between Shadow Dragon and New Mystery pretty well.
The last thing I’ll mention is gameplay.  I really enjoyed just playing this game, and I think a big component of that is because the maps are pretty short.  And yet.  They’re challenging.  There are a few that just repeatedly required me to restart the chapter, despite being maybe three turns long.  The extra chapter when you first face Legion, and it’s got the two mercenaries to the left and right of your starting position, and you can recruit both but you have to not kill them?  The map was so small they could get to just about anyone, so it was a real challenge to handle the archers with my high movement units, prevent those two from dying against the blockades to the sides, and take out the boss quickly without being swarmed.  Other times, the gimmicks were a little obnoxious.  Like Chapter 18.  You’re trying to take this one castle on the right that’s pretty well defended, but there are these super fast cav archers closing in on you from above.  You basically have one turn to get to the village on the left, so their king calls them off.  It’s a cool chapter, but I had to reset the first time, because I didn’t go into the chapter knowing that.  I put my dancer closer to the fortress, thinking I’d have to just move quickly and take out the boss to get them to back off, so Marth couldn’t reach the goal fast enough.  It’s just small things like that.
Overall, I think it’s pretty solid.  I could see playing this one again some day.  Maybe to intentionally miss one of the spheres so I can see what the bad ending is about.  But on the whole, I like it.  Still not super impressed with the characters in Marth’s game, I still feel like a lot are pretty bland (including Marth himself), but it’s a huge step up from Shadow Dragon.

Little tiny notes on boons and banes I want to expand on bigger HCs eventually, but for now I’ll just make notes of boon/bane ideas for the squads (although for most/all of them, the bane does eventually drop over time like how merges do I’ll get around to thinking how merges work too eventually:
Tl;dr version:
---
Erin / +Res -Atk
Teru / +Def -HP
Sparrow / +Spd -Atk
Kyo / +Atk -Spd
Eclair / Neutral
---
Ryoma / +Atk -Res
Lif / +Atk -Res
Camilla / +Def -Spd
Hrid / +Def -Atk
---
Reinhardt / +Atk -Def
Xander / Neutral
Takumi / +Res -HP
Gunnthra / +Def -Spd
Tethys / +Spd -Def
---
Chrom / +Res -Atk
---
Kamui / +Atk -Def
Lifonse / Neutral
---
In-depth version under the cut:
Erin / + Res - Atk = Resilient and willful, just has focus most of the time in areas besides raw strength, particularly when her dragon form was the smallest, technically physical weakness, and she’s stronger in other areas instead.
Teru / + Def - HP = He has great durability and bulk, just his health in other regards is really poor, reflective of just how often he’s so sickly from his condition. Arguably, he had good mental fortitude as well in contrast to being too chronically ill to engage when and how he wants to.
Sparrow / + Spd - Atk = She’s the quickest, not just on her feet, but reflective on her adaptability. However, she doesn’t start off the most battle-ready/inclined right away. (With her digimon, the power she borrowed from them were notably more in a support role as a battle healer, rather than someone like Chrom)
Kyo / +Atk - Spd = He hits like a truck. He just goes right in and lays down the law with very little regards of himself. However, unless he was transformed into something already inclined to be fast, he’s a mighty glacier in his style of fighting in comparison to the others.
Eclair / Neutral = As he was made as almost a blank slate, he has no real strong strengths or weaknesses, and still had to take time to find himself. Whether or not this reflects back on his image-sake (Kiran) or his name-sake (Eclat) is unknown, but likely, doesn’t. Also exists to look cute and be babie until he suddenly has reason not to be as harmless as he seems.
---
Ryoma / + Atk - Res = In any other regard, he’s normally the one who has the strongest mental fortitude between his meditations and the way he mediates or acts like the supportive Big Bro/Team Dad of his supports in fussing and protecting them collectively with Second-in-Command Camilla. When he battles, however, it’s a whole other side to him that focuses far more ruthlessly in combat and making sure the thing he’s fighting is struck dead for daring to hurt his supports, arguably not thinking the most collectively during the moments he’s at his most stubborn and angry.
Lif / + Atk - Res = Like Ryoma but worse. At least Ryoma has some level of calm or pretend-calm, but when Lif is in a mode to battle, he fights with an utterly brutal style as a remnant of his trauma under Hel’s heel, which his feral-like mood and mindset doesn’t lend itself particularly well to thinking calmly, rationally, or in ways that doesn’t potentially break himself along the way either. It’s not uncommon for him to snap out from his daze with several new, fresh wounds he doesn’t remember getting.
Camilla / + Def - Spd = Tanky, bulky, and can withstand quite a bit, but isn’t particularly the speediest while doing it. While she’s plenty brutal when she strikes, what’s more impressive about her is how strongly she carries herself and braves through pretty dangerous rough points in battle just before laying down the law.
Hrid / + Def - Atk = Compared to the others who are much more brutal when and how they strike, Hrid is much more focused on resisting attacks and fighting in a style on the defensive than striking others down fast, hard, or particularly viciously. His kingdom’s peaceful yet resolved way of thinking and general combat style might have contributed to this, especially as physical weapons take more resolve compared to how easily magic can turn deadly all on its own.
---
Reinhardt / + Atk - Def = When he strikes, he strikes hard, brutally, and with immense strength in his thunder magic. He lives up to his reputation in people’s beliefs of being the second coming of Thrud. However, he’s far from the most physically built or bulky, especially in comparison to his supports besides Takumi and Teru, and as all his strength drew to his magic and swordplay, he’s not as able to take more direct hits otherwise. With the power of Mjolnir’s heavy motifs toward thunder, and his striking resemblance to Thrud, one wonders if Mjolnir’s blessings still carried through to a possible reincarnation that transcends Reinhardt’s lack of direct blood otherwise, especially as he’s now in company of more direct relations to gods.
Xander /  Neutral = He trained heavily and stressed heavily on excelling in every field and area in battle. The major weakness he has, however, is the sheer amount of toll it took on his mind and mental health despite his will remaining strong and fortified in battle. He is equally a deadly force to be reckoned with as he is a man who is one misstep away from collapsing at an instant.
Takumi / + Res - HP = Despite him showing the complete opposite earlier on, given how he initially heavily worked against himself and his strengths, when he got guidance to hone his strengths over defy it, he’s actually far more mentally fortified or inclined to than he was initially presented (which was marred heavily in his deep-seated insecurities, jealousy and self-depreciation lending to why he was far more vulnerable earlier on). However, as he got older, he unfortunately also showed more how much he inherited qualities from the previously-terminal illness Ikona had, lending to his health being much more fragile than it initially seemed.
Gunnthra / + Def - Spd = A mighty glacier. She isn’t the quickest in combat, particularly when she focuses on a form of magic utilizing her element that has enough range not to need to move as much physically (particularly as her style of dress would be cumbersome to expect swift movement anyways), but like her brother, she’s plenty bulky, and defensive-minded in withstanding quite a bit.
Tethys / + Spd - Def = Even if she isn’t the sturdiest among Gerik’s band or her supports, she’s content with this, as this wasn’t her focus on her role anyways. Her focus is more on her dancing, and with the style of dance she performs being much more lively and energetic (compared to Azura’s focus on being slow, fluid and graceful), she’s very swift in general.
---
Chrom / + Res - Atk = He’s... he’s being helpful... orz...
More seriously, his attack strength dulled heavier than other Chroms to a point it reflects on his health from his grief, intense stress, and initially not taking the best care of himself past his incredibly strong will remaining fortified. However, as he had been training and exercising regularly, and mindful for Sparrow’s care alongside his, this is why only his raw attack power was the most affected, in comparison to his health in totality.
---
Kamui / + Atk - Def = Tiny but bitey. Compared to his older brothers, Ryoma and Xander, he’s scrawny, small, and looks about as easily squishable as he is. However, he strikes hard and true with his sword, and just as ferociously if not moreso as a dragon.
Lifonse / Neutral = Much like how he was when he was fully Alfonse originally, he is trained to be balanced without having any true definite weak areas, but also not really any major strong points either (unlike Lif, who found his own niche as he became more battle-hardened under grueling circumstances).

The Rewrite of Fairy Tail: Part 12 (Lucy)
What is Lucy's place in the series?
I'll be honest. I'm not very hyped over Lucy. I don't think she's that bad of a character. I'm just not as big a fan of her as I would expect to be of the main character of the series. (There, I said it. Are you happy?)
Still, it's hard for me to do this and wait to talk about Lucy until after I've finished talking about Juvia. (Special nod to my long-time followers who get this reference.) Her place in the series is invaluable. Mashima has even referred to her as the main character of the series (even though he's also been shy to call any one character the main character, but that's because he wants fans to interpret that and that's not a great thing, but this isn't what this post is about and this aside is getting to be too long). To me, Lucy's place in the series may be the most interesting thing about her and is worth discussing.
The story of Fairy Tail is told because Lucy encounters Natsu. That's an important wording. The focus is on Lucy's meeting with Natsu and not the other way around. Natsu went to Hargeon to find Igneel. Lucy was the one who wanted to be a member of a guild and is only able to join Fairy Tail because she met Natsu. In a sense, Natsu didn't or doesn't need Lucy for his main goal in Chapter 1 (finding Igneel) as much as Lucy needed Natsu for hers (joining Fairy Tail).
When people look to call Lucy the main character of the series, I think this is what they have in mind. We don’t really get as much of a view of the series from Natsu’s point of view. Between the two of them, I’d say that we get a better look into Lucy’s thought process of actions. We’re made to empathize with her more as an audience than with Natsu. (Not that some of us don’t care about him or other characters more, hence the aside at the beginning and, oh boys, here I am doing this again.)
But consider that most major villains don't get beaten by Lucy. Natsu has more direct involvement in pushing the plot forward than Lucy does. He's the one fighting major bad guys, even in arcs with more of a focus on Lucy than him. Even when they're fighting together, he's the one getting the final decisive hit on the villain. Lucy's not even around for the fight against Zeref, even as her (incredibly and outrageously fake) contribution to the fight is important.
Probably the most egregious example of this is the Eclipse Project. Consider the difference between the two in that narrative. Natsu's the one considered to be the hope for defeating the two big evils of the series in Zeref and Acnologia. Layla puts her life on the line specifically so Lucy won't have to worry about this. They find out about the gate in the Grand Magic Games and, though Lucy (thanks to Lucy?) learns that the way to get rid of the dragons is to destroy the gate, Natsu does so without knowing anything about the plan. And in the final arc, Lucy's part in defeating Acnologia is more administrative and logistical than Natsu getting the power to land the final blow on Acnologia.
I know this may make it seem as though I'm making a case that Lucy isn't as important a character as we think her to be. To be clear, I don't say this to diminish Lucy's importance in the series. I think it's important to think of how Lucy is important and I wouldn't say it's the same way that I think Natsu or the average shonen action protagonist is. Frankly, part of the reason I don't (often) consider Lucy to be the protagonist of the series is exactly that I don't think she fits the mold of the genre the way Natsu does.
Now is probably a good time to bring up an analogy I've come up with in talking about the Strongest Team. I like to think of them as a team of five protagonists. Not necessarily in the sense of each of them is equally important but, in being easily the most important and visible characters in the series, they have five different arcs that fulfill the roles that remind me of the protagonists of other series. This is especially helpful considering that Fairy Tail is about the guild and the stories of the characters we, the audience, see as most important deserve their own special attention. This is why I talked about Natsu being the protagonist of a story like Hunter x Hunter in the last part.
In Lucy's case, I'd say she's similar to the protagonist of the average slice of life show. As an actual fan of this genre, I hope this isn't seen as a bad thing. Nor does it obviously mean that Lucy can be put as a replacement of the main character of the slice of life show of your choosing and she'll fit about as well as she does in her current place in Fairy Tail. I mean this in saying that her character shares more in common with the main character of a slice of life than Natsu or the rest of the team.
Her role in the series is providing the readers of the series a focal point to follow the series through. (Note that I don't say "lens to read the series through".) Her character arc involves her interactions and relationships with and the people around her. While this is always an important aspect of a good main character, these things are more at the forefront in a slice of life than they would be in an action series.
Of course, the fact that Lucy has this perspective as a character who isn't exactly the main character isn't fairly unique. One of the most famous series in the mystery genre involves the adventures of Sherlock Holmes, but they're narrated by Dr. Watson and not the detective himself. And, as an example that will be more relevant to recent fans of gaming, Robin is the character that one plays as in Fire Emblem: Awakening and plays an integral part in the series. However, despite the insistence of some fans, the fact of the matter is that Chrom is the protagonist of the game. (Have I used this example before?)
And, despite whatever (potentially legitimate) issue there is to be had with Mashima's handling of women, this isn't a gendered thing. I think it's helpful to contrast Lucy's part in the series with that of a female lead to an action series. Princess Yona in Yona of the Dawn is also making friends as she goes on her own plot driven antics. However, focus and attention are put on her own growth both in combat skills and as a character. She goes from a sheltered princess to a formidable fighter in the span of even a few volumes. There's more I could say on this, but I really don't want to get into Fairy Tail's dealings with women. (Also read Yona of the Dawn)
What does all of this mean?
It doesn't mean that I'm changing the perspective of the series as to be told in the first person by Lucy. Tempting as that may seem to other people (I have no interest in this idea), this is beyond messy for the simple fact of needing to account for events Lucy absolutely could not possibly be present for. Even working on the series now, I'm having a difficult time getting moments to work in the third person for a number of reasons. (Though, someone else may be better at telling the series through shifting the first person a la Percy Jackson.)
What it does mean is that I want to keep the events of the series more focused on Lucy than on Natsu. Of course, he and other characters will have their time to shine, but Lucy, for the most part, should be the narrative center of attention. This does mean that when Natsu leaves to find Igneel during the time skip, we'll be staying around Lucy and the guild. Considering what I've said about the series and the guild, this shouldn't be seen as that bad a thing.
In all this discussion, I've only briefly mentioned Lucy's character arc. The reason isn't that I don't see one in Lucy, but because I care much more about her place in the narrative of Fairy Tail than of her individual arc. Again, this is my personal bias regarding Lucy at work. There are three big sections to Lucy's character arc.
In the first big section of the series, Lucy falls in love with the guild and becomes accustomed to the culture thereof. In the original, she joins a team, befriends people outside that team and makes it clear that the members of Fairy Tail are her family, despite their crazy antics.
This keeps up until around the x791 arc. In this arc, the normal that Lucy is used to has changed. The guild becomes smaller and her dad, with whom some movement towards reconciliation was started, dies. Very little from before Fairy Sphere is kept the same. At this point in the series, I'd characterize Lucy as looking more towards being close to the people already around her rather than going out to make new friends.
One simple manifestation of this is refusing to take Yukino's keys during the Grand Magic Games arc, outright stating that this isn't something she wants to do anymore. In Tartarus, she also mentions that she just wants to be with her friends and her spirits.
Of course, Tartarus ends leaving her without her guilds or the spirit she's grown arguably the closest to (depending on how you see Loke in that regard). From this point on in Fairy Tail, Lucy has the mindset of bringing the people she cares about together. Why else make a chart showing where members of the guild are? Why else continue to carry Aquarius' broken key around? Why else have Lucy, even now after chapter 545, reference a desire to be reunited with Aquarius?
That last one, as I've mentioned previously, involves a different way of interpreting the search for a loved one than Natsu. By the end of the rewrite, Natsu should learn that Fairy Tail is his family, despite spending much of it searching for Igneel. Ad the end of the rewrite, Lucy will go searching for Aquarius, despite knowing for much of the series that she has a family in the guild.
This is what I meant when I said they end up with each other's character beats swapped. Natsu starts with a desire to be reunited with the family he's known and ends having found that longing filled in Fairy Tail. Lucy starts wanting to become a part of a community and, after having found it, seeks to bring back an important member of that community.
To be honest, there's not a whole lot I feel like needs serious attention in regards to changes. One thing I want to do is show Lucy form real friendships outside of the Strongest Team. Of course, she's had her friendships with Cana and Levy. But while her relationship with Cana has gotten the attention I think it deserves, her friendship with Levy could have a better introduction than what we got in the original. Of course, there's also the ability to develop friendships with others in the guild, like Juvia and Lisanna.
Other than that, I don't feel as though there's too much wrong with Lucy to warrant serious changes. Many complaints that I see of Lucy are issues that either come from differing interpretations of Lucy or issues with a number of other elements in the series that also happen to affect Lucy, at times to an admittedly higher degree.

@summonedhearts (Abby) wrote this for @unwaveriinghearts (BP)!
Happy Yuletide and a Merry New Year!
Dear Santa,
My name is Chrom, prince to the throne of Ylisse (if you were wondering where to find us) and I would like a sword for my present this year so I can train to be a knight alongside the Shepherds. Have you seen them? They're so cool! Mother worries about me getting in harm's way while I'm watching them so I want Frederick and the others to train me so I can defend myself and protect Ylisse. I've helped Mother and Father a lot this year as well as playing nice with Emmeryn and Lissa so I hope I'm on your nice list this year.
I'm not sure if this is allowed but, I'd like to ask you for presents for my sisters too, I don't know if Em's already written to you, but I know Lissa's been struggling with her writing lessons so I wanted to make sure her wish got to you. She'd really like some new boots, seeing as hers got scuffed from playing outside. Her pranks have been mostly forgiven and Em...I don't know what Em wants, I haven't seen her that much while Dad's been away at war again with Plegia. Mother's been giving her lessons in becoming the Exalt but I know she feels worried about the responsibility. I don't know if you can help, or if I've asked too much already, but I'd like to ask for their safety.
These letters are meant to be for toys and the such, aren't they? I'm sorry. I should scrap this and try again or at the very least, save this for Lissa’s imagination.
On the off chance this makes it to you, I wish you a safe flight over Ylisse - oh, and thank you!
Yours faithfully,
C,
His Majesty, Prince Chrom of the Kingdom of Ylisse (Age 7)
Dear Santa,
I am aware it has been some time since I last wrote to you - perhaps a childish thing of me to do now and yet, I find a small solace in writing to you now in a rare moment of peace here. First, I must thank you for your response to my previous letter. The sword you gifted me has been a perfect fit and joining the Shepherds has been, well, a dream come true if I am to be frank. Lissa adored her new boots, so much so that I fear they are being held together by mere strings at this point though her attachment to them is something fierce. As for Emmeryn, ever since our mother’s passing she has taken the role of Exalt with her usual grace though alone, it is clear to see the toll it is taking upon her and still--she continues to provide nothing but the best for me and Lissa. I cannot thank her enough, nor convey my gratitude enough for her actions over these past few years in words alone.
I apologize for the tone this note has taken, but as a prince, soldier and brother, I can only do my very best in return for both of my sisters. I must fight to keep my family and the people of Ylisse safe on the battlefield, while Emm keeps them safe in her throne. Lissa has already expressed an interest in joining the Shepherds when she is of age though I believe her talents lie best in that of the medical arts following her training with Emm and mother, before she passed.  I want to keep her safe, yet I know this is a never-ending struggle, the same my mother must have felt as she watched over us all, no doubt.
Yule is fast approaching, as I’m sure you’re well aware. I can’t wait for the holiday celebrations here though we are scarcely permitted to visit the markets and attractions without ample protection. Frederick, our chief, worries too much though, if what Father says is to be true, then the wars with Plegia are unlikely to stop at our agreed borders should they get so close. I want to trust him - after all, he risks himself in a cause we know so little of and yet, it is hard to justify it as anything more than a pre-emptive strike against Plegia when, for once, they have done nothing to warrant such a war.
Perhaps, if we are lucky, there will be a mission to the celebrations at some point though I don’t hold high hopes. I just need to eat something other than bear.
Yours faithfully,
C,
His Majesty, Prince Chrom of Ylisse (Age 15)
Dear Santa,
I sincerely apologize for the gaps between my writings to you though perhaps it is silly I am still writing to you at all  given your usual dealings are with that of children. These past few years have been hard upon all of us. I am afraid to come to you with grave news - the Exalt, my sister, Em, is no longer with us. Killed as a pawn in the Plegian’s game for whatever war they intend to wage with us now. I have had trouble sleeping for some time - at first, from my promotion to Captain of the Shepherds and now, I am plagued by nightmares though to call them fictional would hardly be apt in the circumstances.
Things have truly changed a lot since my last letter to you. Lissa has joined our company now, serving us greatly as a Cleric following the completion of her medical studies though she continues to grow stronger each day - not least after recent events, if we are to be truthful.
I must also tell you of another person of great significance in my life though I fear it’s tale is as big as some of yours, though I insist, it is truth in these trying times. Her name is Robin. She is truly magnificent - skilled with tome, sword, brains and beauty alike. It was Lissa who first noticed her unconscious on one of our patrols though I must admit, at first, my fears were that of the worst. Frederick the Wary naturally advised caution, but following several trials of her trust, she has been an invaluable ally in this senseless war.  It is not a fact I have shared with Lissa or any other of the Shepherds for that matter but it is her resolve and guidance that has refocused my mind on our original mission. In truth, I have since spent many hours with her - planning our next steps to victory or further training, of a manner, though I must admit our first few interactions after meeting were less than proper for a man and woman though now, I am pleased to call us friends. Continuing my original point, meeting Robin has been nothing short of a miracle - between her optimism, strategy and belief in all of us, there is little I can say that would do it justice.
If it wasn’t already obvious, as Lissa has taken care to point out, although I believe in jest for now, I cannot part my mind from her, what I mean to say is, I believe I’m in love.
The future ahead is uncertain and I have to admit to not knowing where it may lead, but, if I may, if it is proper for a man of my age to still be making holiday wishes then I wish for peaceful passage into the coming year and safety for those back  home. It is not an easy wish, nay, one that I am also working towards though one I am optimistic will come, nay, has to come if we are to succeed.
Yours faithfully,
C,
His Majesty, Prince Chrom of Ylisse (Age 19)
Dear Santa,
It has been difficult to put my thoughts into words as of late, so I am attempting to write this in a format that has brought me such comfort on prior occasions.  Time has again passed since my last letter to you - a small symbol of the change that has occurred in it’s boundaries if I am to truly bring my last letter up to speed.  Our battles did not end at Ylisse and Plegia, why, upon reflection, it felt as if they had barely started there - given the mount of our task to come.
Our numbers have grown considerably since we last talked - allies to our cause ran far and wide as things turned out, be it that they owed the Exalt of Ylisse a debt, expressed an interest in helping our cause voluntarily or in others, well, there were others with other motives, it rather pales in comparison to the reason I feel I need to address all this with you. In those that joined our party, my daughter, from a future far bleaker than our own, travelled back in time to prevent a future that would have doomed us all. In pursuit of that, a version of Robin, intertwined with our own from her future also returned, yet, it was one who had accepted the soul of the Fell Dragon, Grima upon my passing at her hands -  the grim future Lucina spoke of in her previous warnings. In her future, we had all fallen as a result of the battle and yet, in our own, we held the power to change it.
Robin, my closest ally, my friend through all of this, my wife, my dearest love, the trials we have faced appeared relentless and I nary say they are unlikely to end now although, perhaps, if I may submit one request, not on the scale of our previous endeavours, hm? I never could keep up with you.
You gave everything to ensure all of us had a future and for that, mere words will never be enough. I can only hope that each of us living to protect this future was the outcome you wished for too, no, I know it.
I know little of magic, not least that which appears to be above mere mortal bounds though if I may ask one final wish of you, however foolish it may seem, I know Robin lives - whatever time, whenever is right, I ask that you return her to us safe and sound so that we may fight for this future together, as a family and with our friends.
Our adventures here will not end, not now as we face the prospect of a new future - one of our own design and one that we may share the joy in, together, upon your return.
Yours, as ever,
C,
His Royal Highness, Exalt Chrom of Ylisse (Age 22)
Dear Santa,
Thank you.
Yours faithfully,
C,
His Royal Highness, Exalt Chrom and Queen Robin of Ylisse (Ages 23 and 25 respectively)

Rude Awakening Chapter 10
Welp. Here it is. The final chapter other than the epilogue I'm planning. It's quite the finale, I enjoyed putting it together, and I hope you enjoy reading it: Chapter 10: Endgame
Palkia was in a huddle around a table with both her group and Lucina's group. Even Wuzzles was looking over the maps and charts with curiosity. "Okay," said Palkia. "Does everyone know the plan so far?" There were murmurs of agreement among the group. "Alright. Dialga, Lucina, you two had that thing, right?" "Yes, we did," said Lucina. "We should be able to consult with Naga shortly," said Dialga. "Excellent," said Palkia. "Then let's roll." ------- Naga was resting, meditating. Then she opened her eyes and saw Lucina and Dialga, the latter in his dragon form, there. "Dialga! And... Exalt Lucina?" Lucina stared in awe and then bowed. "Oh Lady Naga, it is a most esteemed honor to be in your presence! Let me recite the holy rites of-" ~You can skip it, me and Naga are on good terms,~ said Dialga. "Indeed we are," said Naga. "What brings you here?" "I have a plan," Lucina said. "A plan to stop Grima. But I need your and Dialga's help." "And what exactly do you need?" said Naga. "I read you know a ritual. A ritual to alter the course of time." Naga's eyes widened. "That ritual is extremely dangerous... It could undo all of reality if performed incorrectly..." "I know. But it could be our only hope." "A suggestion, if I may?" said Dialga. "What is it?" said Naga. "Really, I'm a firm believer that the only way to do time travel is to not do time travel," said Dialga. "But! There's one relatively less messy way to do it." "And that would be?" said Lucina. "We create an alternate timeline. We can't save this one... but we can save another, just like it, and start over." "That's... Crazy enough to work." said Naga. "If I can save my father and his friends that way... I suppose it will work," said Lucina. "Excellent. Now hold on..." said Dialga. He closed his eyes, then telepathically reached out to Palkia. ~Sister? We may begin Stage 2.~ --------------- Grima looked out over his desolate domain. Risen dominated the landscape and the skies were gloomy. It was perfect. His human body sat back and chuckled. He was content. The world could spiral further into entropy and he'd just lau- ...Wait. What was that noise? It started soft, but it grew louder, louder, and it soon became apparent that it was some sort of strange... music? Whatever it was it was agony to Grima's ears, and he recoiled and writhed, not noticing his Risen were being drawn towards the noise. ----- The Risen were drawn to an enormous, elaborate dance floor. Sitting there at the DJ table were Giratina and Wuzzles. Giratina raised a claw to greet the incoming Risen. "Yo! You all ready to par-tay?" The Risen gave gurgles and groans reminiscent of cheers. "Well let's get rocking!" Wuzzles turned on a disco ball and lights, and the Risen all started dancing to the tune of Mahna Mahna. ------------ Around the world, survivors took notice of the lack of Risen. They ventured out of bunkers, out of ruined homes, in awe of what was happening. And they were all startled when hoop-like portals appeared near each of them, and a visage of an enormous dijin-like creature appeared in their minds. ~Yo! If you wanna get out of this mess escape is that-a-way!~ said Unbound Hoopa. The people hesitated. ~Let me put it this way... You either accept the help of this giant monster... or let the other giant monster continue killing you all. Your choice.~ With that the people started filing into the portals. ~That'll do it! Just don't touch anything or I'll throw you right back out!~ ------------- The zombie dance party continued. The Risen were raving and grooving and busting moves. It was then Giratina gave a wink to Wuzzles, and Wuzzles pulled out and pressed a button. The dance floor caved in, and thousands if not millions of Risen were dropped into a swirling pit of darkness and blades below. ------------- In some other universe, several trucks wheeled up to a popular fast-food restaurant with a bell-shaped logo. Inside the trucks were a large number of boxes labeled "burito meet". The restaurant employees shrugged and started hauling it in. ----------- Grima recovered as the music faded. He gazed out in horror. The survivors he needed to purge, gone. His forces, decimated. He roared in unbridled rage. "Who did this?! Who has insulted me?! Show yourselves!" "Yoo-hoo!" Grima turned to find Palkia standing before his human form. "I'm back. And I'm here to kick your ass." "How do you dare hope to defeat me, worm?" "Oh, I'm no worm." She stretched and grew until she was in her dragon form. "You killed my best friend in this world. You killed almost all of my friends in this world period. I'm taking you down." "You dare challenge me, false god?" said Grima. "How hilarious. Do your best." His dragon head lunged at Palkia. Palkia responded in kind. ---------------- The children of the Shepherds were all gathered together. Lucina, Naga, Panne, Virion, Libra, and Dialga were looking over them all. "Okay... We seem to have everyone," said Lucina. "...Wait," said Naga. "Where's Morgan?" "Oh!" said Virion. "She said she had to use the restroo-" He squinted off into the distance. "...Oh no." ------- The battle between Palkia and Grima raged on. Grima snapped his jaws and fired bursts of dark energy while Palkia fired orbs of water and sliced with spatial rifts. It was during one of these exchanges, however, that the two heard a noise. "Hey! Jerkface!" The two turned to see a third dragon, hovering nearby. "Guess what? I'm not afraid anymore!" Grima roared and snapped his jaws at Morgan. Morgan quickly darted out of the way, and Palkia moved between them to keep his jaws pried open. "Morgan?!" said Palkia. "What are you doing here?!" "I didn't want to go with the others!" said Morgan. "I wanted to help you fight!" "Grima's dangerous! Leave this to me!" "And just run away?" "Fine! I go for the dragon body, you go for the human body!" With that, Morgan flew down, and confronted Grima's human vessel. "My my my," he said, looking her over. "Look at how you've grown." "You... Dad..." said Morgan. "Enough with your petty sentimentalities," said Grima. "The line of Naga ends here." He conjured a lightning bolt and threw it at Morgan, who flew out of the way. "No!" said Morgan. "You're not my dad anymore and you killed my mom! You end here!" She unleashed a blast of draconic flame that scorched Grima's human body as he yelled in pain. This caused the dragon head to recoil, allowing Palkia to get in a decisive strike. "You still dare to defy me, false god?" "First off," said Palkia, "you're no god. You're a parasite, one that ate someone who cared about me and who I cared about back from the inside out." "The old me was always destined to be subsumed by the true me... Oh, the pathetic little thing fought so hard to avoid it in so many ways.. But I am always the one to emerge victorious in the end. I always find a way." "From what I see your way always involves subterfuge, manipulation, and cold-blooded murder. A showoff, yeah, but nothing special. You're pathetic." She gave a draconic grin. "Second of all... I'm more of a god than you'll ever be. And let me show you exactly how." With that, her body flashed, and Grima's vision was overwhelmed by light. -------------- Space. Infinite amounts of space. Floating within the space were cosmic pearls of various colors and sizes, but all too massive for any mind to comprehend. And yet Grima was being forced to comprehend it, this true form of Palkia's, this raw embodiment of space that made him squirm and scream in agony. His mind had been thoroughly been cracked open. And that was more than enough for a telepathic force to sneak inside. ------------ Palkia was in a void. In her human form she tiptoed around the darkness until she came across a sight that made her heart stop. There was Robin, chained, helpless. His eyes were closed. Palkia ran over to him. "R-Robin! I knew it, I knew you were still in here somehow, some way..." Robin's eyes slowly opened, and opened wide upon seeing Palkia. "V-Valentina?! Is that you? I... Still exist?" "Yes, you do, Robin! Please, we have to get out of here..." "N-No, I can't... I deserve oblivion, I ''want'' oblivion... Please go, Valentina, it will spare us both so much pain..." "Robin, no... Y-you can't give up like this... Grima is not you, he never was you..." "It's too late... I've let him consume me and all I was utterly... No one would want me to go back even if I could... I'm sorry, Valentia, at least... This way... In... a twisted sense... I'm at... peace..." Robin's eyes closed again. Palkia clenched her fist. When her fist opened there was a strange orb of gold light inside. "Here... Robin... Live to the promise Chrom asked of you... Escape..." She touched the orb of gold light to Robin's forehead, where it sunk in and was absorbed. Tears streamed down her face. "You most likely won't remember me if you do... But I don't care... I just want you to be happy again..." There was another flash of light. ------ Grima recoiled and yelled, while Palkia backed off. "Ugh... Fool! You cannot stop me with your tricks! Defying me is futile!" Palkia shrugged. "I don't know, it's a good distraction?" "...Wait, what?" His dragon head looked around. Then his eyes locked on a pinprick of light in the distance. "No... No!" ----------------------- A massive portal had been opened, the children of the Shepherds about to file inside. Virion and Libra hugged Nah and Noire, while Panne talked to Yarne. "M-mom? I'm scared. Really scared." said Yarne. "Steady yourself," said Panne. "You have a duty to fulfill. Find me. Find your father. And you will be all right." "Okay mom..." They hugged. "Uh, guys?" said Dialga. "You may want to hurry up!" The children turned to see Grima and the remaining Risen heading their way. "Everybody now!" said Lucina. In unison, they all jumped in. Dialga, Naga, Virion, Libra and Panne jumped out of the way as Grima and the Risen charged through the portal as well. The portal closed behind them as the ones left behind got to their feet. "Are they... Okay?" said Libra. "They may be scattered... but they will survive," said Naga. "It is in the hands of the people of the new timeline now." Giratina, Wuzzles, Hoopa, Palkia, and Morgan - the last in her human form - converged around the others. "They make it?" said Hoopa. "They did." said Panne. Suddenly, cracks started appearing in the sky. "Wha- what's happening?" said Virion. "This universe... It's dying." said Naga. "Dying?!" said Palkia. "No, it can't be..." "It has been coming a while," said Naga. "With Grima's rise most of the old gods have moved on. I was one of the only ones left. And that ritual consumed most of my power even with Dialga's help. You all need to get out of here at once." "No... Naga, we can't just leave you..." said Dialga. Naga's hands glowed. "I'm sorry Dialga. I love you." There was a flash. ---------------- Everyone found themselves in the Temporal Dimension, Dialga's home. Of the party, however, Naga was nowhere to be seen. "No..." said Dialga. "No, no, no!" He tried to charge away from the others, only for Palkia and Giratina to restrain him. "Let go! I need to save her! I need to stop this! Why won't... you... let me?!" He let out an unholy screech as the stripes on his body glowed a deep orange and the gem on his chest burned red. "Dialga... please... Stop..." said Palkia. "Bro... Please..." said Giratina. "Uncle Dialga!" said Morgan. Upon hearing her voice the glow on his body faded. "...What... what is it?" said Dialga. "I know grandma Naga is... gone... But you can't lose hope. We've gotten so far. We made the new timeline and saved Lucina's friends. And... wherever we are I hope you can show me around." Dialga paused. He turned to Morgan and gave a faint smile. "...I suppose I will." And everyone moved to rest. ***
So yeah. That's that. I'd give thoughts on the whole experience writing this fic but I'll save that for the epilogue.

Maybe I misunderstood, but Kaga didn't say Lex was the ONLY good Dozel, so much as his brother and father were rigid traditionalists who weren't connected with the current populace and thus weren't very popular among them. Like Lex was one of the first Dozels to look past the ancient grudge between them & Chalphy. The game did show Langobolt saying a prayer for Lord Ring & disgust at Andre's patricide, as well as reluctance to fight Lex, showing again his traditionalism(the good side to it).
I’m always for bringing more nuance to the Dozels, and if F!Lewyn is any indication as to what Kaga was thinking, there are no “good” Dozels, and Langobalt is the worst human being in both gens
a good dozel is a dead dozel
Lex went first and foremost on Siggy’s adventure for Azelle, he says it himself in the first chapters that he isn’t all buddy-buddy with Siggy and his Chalphian pals. Then Lex fights with Siggy, lives with Siggy, and is branded a traitor by his dad, just like Siggy.
Langbalt was not the best Lord/Duke around, he was willing to brand his son a traitor, and even called Danan useless, on top of being A-OK with regicide, and murdering Byron.
Langbalt wasn’t the mastermind F!Lewyn painted him to be Reptor was. He was just in because he didn’t like the Chalphys (it’s never explained why in the game btw) and wanted to get rid of Kurth too. He led his troops to Isaach, murdered (?) the good king Mananan and got rid of Marricle.
Was Reptor in to become the ultra mega emperor of the universe? I think so. Was Langbalt in for the same reasons? I don’t know, but I think we’re not supposed to see him as amibtious as Reptor, he was just the brawns to Reptor’s brain (or at least, that’s how it was painted).
Sadly we don’t learn a thing about the Dozel commoners, were they supporting Langbalt or Lex? Bear in mind that Dozel sent their men in the war against Isaach, because those barbarians pillaged Darna etc etc. Lex harbouring Prince Shanan could be seen as treason, even by the randomest peasant in the duchy (if he didn’t die during the war).
Danan being a tyrant in Isaach is obviously another story, Isaach is a conquered country, the conquered people are nothing but slaves (remember when Siggy invaded Granvalle and Augstria and the Granvallians were being asses to the verdanites/augstrians? It’s the same idea) and maybe mcRandom Dozel is super happy that his duchy managed to get rid of those barbarians and how they have to show them who’s the best/most civilised country - with all of the disgusting implications we learn of during the game.
We never saw what the randoms in Granvalle were thinking, because the only randoms we see in the last chapter are randoms begging us to save the world from Loptyr, without any words regarding the previous heads of their Duchies or anything else.
We don’t even know what the randoms were thinking about Lex during the first gen, or between the gens or thinking about Langbalt.
So when our Jo-bro tells his bro that the “people” are behind him and not behind Burian, we’re supposed to buy this thing, even taking into account how said jo-bro killed his own “good” brother for a stupid reason or taking into account how maybe Burian sided with Julius to prevent Julius going all Hilda on Dozel and killing them on a whim or somehting
It’s as if randoms are only here to praise us, but no one is here to call us on our shit, save randoms hailing from mystical land of thracia where a fisherman trashtalks prince leif
More seriously, it fits with Kaga’s idea of the game, we see the war through Jugdral’s lens, not through Seliph’s personal POV; so it doesn’t matter if randoms were a bit unhappy at things, in the end, the land is fred from Arvis, Emperor (?) Seliph rules Granvalle and the continent is “at peace” as in, no draconic threat or massive continental war happens.
Does it matter if Arthur/Jo-bro/whoever inherits Verdane has a hard time ruling their lands? Nope. Are we going to take into account peasants? Nope.
Think of it as SoV’s ending, Alm and Celica fred their land from the gods, they know some random are going to starve (especially the ones in Rigel?) without anyone to bless the crops, but it doesn’t matter because in the long run, the continent fares well
until chrom and his merry band of friends invade to get rid of Walhart
FE4′s own ending mentions this issue with Ares having to face a civil war in France Augstria, he ultimately becomes King and that’s the result we want to hear. Do we want to hear about Diarmuid’s heroic feats against Chagall’s lost bastard son? Nope. Do we want to hear about how Diarmuid helped peasants to revolt against Mc Beth’s widow who hired bandits to rape/pillage/burn for fun? Nope.
Ares became King, and it’s the only thing that matters in Agstria.
So back to the Dozels topic…
If Kaga wanted to show us “good” Dozels, he failed. Compare with what happened with the Freeges, or even Arvis himself. Hell, I’d say Lex counts as a “good” Dozel because he was with Siggy’s company, and the jobros don’t because most of the time we have a lex’s son to take over Dozel, and their antics with Larcei kill any sympatic points.
Maybe he didn’t want to make them one-dimensional so he added Burian, and Langobalt’s line about parricide (rans false given hom he branded his own son a traitor) might have existed to show how much of a little shit André was.

Team Headcanons - Earth Emblem
Tumblr media
So named because they all have the Earth blessing and because there isn’t a single Earth challenge that I didn’t end up winning since forming this team to start off with.
First, one point I need to mention for these headcanons; Spring!Chrom married Olivia in his version of the events of Awakening (before he got summoned). This Olivia got summoned months after the fact (Flier!Olivia ftw). He has an S-support with Flier!Olivia to reflect this.
Lute and Grima are in a support (but it’s more a platonic support/mutual understanding than anything).
(also small disclaimer; having never played Sacred Stones I know the least about Lute out of all of them, so I apologize in advance if the headcanons I have for her seem ooc. I based them on the VA lines in the game and what I gleaned off of the wikia.)
With that, let us begin!
Spring!Chrom
The first thing Chrom noticed about Soleil was her hair color - how it looked so similar to his wife’s. It was only when they were first put into a team that he pointed it out. One thing led to another and it came to the realization that Soleil is in fact Chrom’s granddaughter.
HEATED RIVALRY WITH FALLEN!ROBIN/GRIMA. The two wouldn’t stop arguing when the team first got formed. The two still have a sort of begrudging/reluctant acceptance of the other’s presence (and really, that’s only thanks to Lute).
Chrom doesn’t quite know how he feels about Lute (mostly because she’s the only one in the team that isn’t connected to Ylisse in some way), but he does have a lot of respect for how she seems to keep Grima in check.
Acts as the main hitter of the team, although the fact that he’s learned Res Tactic helps balance the team’s defenses out (because the others have decent physical defenses but only sub-par resistance).
Soleil
Soleil’s first response to realizing that Chrom is her grandfather was a delighted shriek before she tackled Chrom into a tight hug. She’s heard stories about her grandfather from literally everyone (read: from Laslow/Inigo and Odin/Owain while they were fighting in Corrin’s army), so she’s always wanted to meet him.
She never questioned how he was so young, though. Perhaps she had been talking with Lucina.
Soleil fears no Grima. She knows that she’s got the upper hand between her choice of weapon preventing counter-attacks and the fact that she’s faster. Grima is also aware of the advantage Soleil has over him and is forever annoyed by it.
Soleil enjoys teasing Lute. It’s nothing more than light-hearted jokes, really. She does consider Lute a trusted friend and leader, though. And, in a low-key way, she also considers Lute kind of like the older sister she never had.
Soleil’s brand showed up on her arm. I haven’t decided if it showed up right when she joined Corrin’s army or before that (so while she was growing up in the Deeprealms), but she has absolutely talked to Laslow about it. That conversation went similarly to Odin and Ophelia’s A support convo.
Lute
She and Chrom have a neutral sort of respect for each other. She does think it interesting that he fights in that sort of attire, and she’s definitely interested in the healing capabilities of the axe he uses.
Literally, her first impression of Soleil was that she reminded her a lot of Ross. Perhaps it’s because of their similarities in personality (and how Soleil always wanted to be just like her dad) that the connection was made. Regardless, it was made and Lute can’t help thinking of Soleil as a little sister trusted teammate.
Lute’s relationship with Grima is interesting. At first she was intrigued because he looked so much like Robin (who she has a sort of rivalry with, since they’re both geniuses in their own right), so she set out to observing Grima’s actions. Of course this annoyed Grima, who keeps demanding why she does that. Lute’s matter-of-fact answers occasionally leads to a conversation about humanity and power. She finds that he can be an interesting conversation partner.
Absolutely the de facto leader/caretaker of the team. Meaning, she’s the one who reports back to the Summoner about team shenanigans and thinks of ways for things to run smoothly and making sure that the others are patched up if need be. With how energetic Soleil is and how Chrom and Grima occasionally bicker, someone’s got to keep this team together. Lute doesn’t quite mind.
M!Grima
Due in part to the contract he has with the Summoner (and also due to the fact that Robin’s mind and soul still exist somewhere within this body), Grima can’t outright kill anyone in the Order of Heroes. It doesn’t stop him from being an asshole, especially towards Chrom and the rest of the Heroes hailing from Ylisse. One thing he’d never admit, though, is that he’s jealous of how easily Chrom can move compared to him.
Speaking of Soleil...there’s definitely disdain there. Not just because she’s Chrom’s granddaughter (it was bad enough that his daughter traveled through time to stop him in Ylisse, but summoning his granddaughter, really Summoner?). That blasted weapon of hers prevented counterattacks, which happened to be Grima’s specialty (having Vengeful Fighter for an ability). Another thing he’ll never admit that he found it impressive how easily she can get away from danger if she needed to.
There’s definitely a theme where M!Grima wants to be able to move around more, can you tell.
Lute, however....isn’t so bad. For a human, at least. It annoyed him when she started observing him at first, but she had some interesting insight on humanity and how to properly wield power. She once said that she didn’t need to rely on a god for power, and strangely enough, that was what stuck with him. So there’s generally a mutual respect/understanding going on between the two, really.
Team curmudgeon tank. Really nothing more to say about that.
TLDR:
Soleil is Chrom’s granddaughter, Grima basically suffers because there’s two of the Exalt line in the same team as him, and Lute just cleans up the mess and (somehow) keeps Grima in line.
The lack of a healer in the team can be worrysome, but between Soleil and Chrom both having Aether, Grima’s defenses and Lute’s speed, that’s more of a non-issue.

Headcanon Submissions 4!
We’ve had some submitted headcanons and thoughts that have trickled in over the weeks and a few that have been sitting in the inbox for a while, so I wanted to make sure that I addressed all of them. We have quite a few, so I’ve added a cut to continue reading - this should bring us up to date with past submissions!
Lucina is VERY touchy-feely when she's being affectionate thanks to her time in the original future, always wanting to hold something or someone so that they don't leave her. This came as a pleasant surprise to Robin, who didn't expect that she'd be such a cuddler. He personally enjoys that bit and holds her just as well because he wants her to be happy above all else.
- airshipcanon
Happiest Lucina is best Lucina. A Lucina that has a Robin to love is happiest Lucina. Therefore a Lucina that has a Robin to love is best Lucina. Also, she deserves all the cuddles.
- Anonymous
I've never understood why people like or suggest the idea of "Shotgun dad Chrom" in respect to Robin/Lucina. It's frankly out of character for Chrom. Chrom is a trusting character, to a fault. He also is shown to actually be moved to anger when others are goalkeeping in the love lives of his close family. Robin is his best friend, and he puts absolute faith in the man. He cares about his war-weary daughter's happiness, and he knows Robin well. Yes, Lucina is his daughter, but he knows that she's not really his, per say. He's far from stupid, he knows Robin is with the time traveler and isn't taking away his daughter who sleeps in her crib back home. He's providing happiness to a daughter that he couldn't have. And unless Robin is for whatever reason seen as a loose bedswerver, which is also out of character, since Robin's skittish at so much as the idea of seeing Lucina naked, there's no reason for Chrom to be angry at his friend for being with Lucina. Robin's not simply taking Lucina to bed. He's in love with and marrying her. He's not going to break Lucina's heart. Now, it's reasonable that on his ending, Robin gets a fist in the face from Chrom for doing just that after he comes back, but that's because oh wait, his death is going to hurt Lucina, even if it was temporary. But Chrom being hostile or angry towards Robin just for him getting with Lucina is simply not in character. At all. Chrom's Sigurd 2.0, not Hector 2.0 [that'd be Ike. :\]
- Anonymous
Though Lucina and Morgan never manage to beat Robin during a strategy game, they manage to pull it off when they team up. Robin disputes the validity of one of their moves and Morgan replies with a full-blown Jack Nicolson style "You can't handle the truth!". Well, it would be full blown if she wasn't smirking and laughing between every word, but I digress.
- baneofloslorien5384
Because Morgan only remembers Robin, Lucina often fears this meant she was a bad mother. Robin tries to reassure her since Morgan fighting with Lucina's style must mean they spent a great deal of time together, but what helps is seeing how torn up Morgan is over here inability to remember her mother. So, the two resolve to make new memories together to compensate for those which were lost.
- baneofloslorien5384
Given her stoic nature, the weight of her mission, her burden of memory, and being the least likely to get a joke, making a Lucina smile is rarely easy. It doesn't stop Robin from trying, though. And, if all else fails, he always has his nuclear option: taking advantage of the fact that Lucina is remarkably ticklish. Though he usually pays for it when sparring, Robin thinks it's worth it.
- baneofloslorien5384
Though Robin and Lucina had a lot of fun at Super Smash Bros., they had some awkward moments. Reflet is Chrobin and mistakes Chrom and Lucina for her family. And, whenever Chrom and Captain Falcon cross paths, Robin and Lucina spend hours pulling the two apart. But, these are moments the couple will look back upon and laugh later. Much, much, MUCH later.

Morgan gains a cult compose of Grima zealots and Naga extremists. They worship Morgan as a new messiah because she has a combination of fell and exalted bloodlines, they believe that with her dual bloodlines Morgan has divine powers to bring salvation and prosperity. Morgan loves her cult because they shower her with everything from food to treasures and power, much to the disapproval of her parents.

Like her mother, Sumia, Lucina finds cross-dressing appealing and can pull it off very well; which is why she could fool everyone as "Marth." Robin sees the appeal in it too, he even confesses to Lucina he may have had feelings for "Marth" since first laying eyes on "him!"

Robin and Lucina had a secret wedding. The person who performed the ceremony was Henry given he was a priest of Grima, Lucina did not like being wedded under the name of Grima but she put it aside because she is marrying Robin. Robin is happy with the situation but is irritated by Henry's overuse of death puns. Henry is happy doing the secret wedding for his friend and added bonus he can mess with his brother-in-law Chrom on what he did.

Just like Chrom's sword the falchion is a relic that's is connected to Naga, Robin has a blade connected to Grima called Grima's Tooth. The blade looks like a black serrated knife meant for sacrificing or ceremony purpose. The exalted line can't wield the blade but the fell blood can. When Morgan is recruited, she has in her possession another Falchion and Grima's Tooth.

If Olivia is Lucina’s mother: although Lucina is ok with wearing dresses, she feels awful embarrassed when she wears her owned dancer outfit. But that changes when she decides to sneak to Robin’s tent while she dons her dancer outfit. The dance she chose is an erotic one that has her take her clothes off, she picks this one to show her love to Robin and to cement their relationship. The night of passion conceived Morgan out of wedlock.

Note
the thing may not be applicable to your own ocs but iF YOU THINK I'M NOT STILL SNEAKING SOME FORM OF OC TRASH SO I CAN HEAR WHAT KINDA STUPID HEADCANONS YOU HAVE, YOU'RE DEAD WRONG. namely ian and tip because sc trash babe. also aqua, kairi, chrom, and adrien agreste
FUCKING HELL ZOE. XD
I’ll throw the SC trash under read more but the rest nah.
Aqua:
Realistic: Aqua is, ironically enough, the member of the Wayfinder Trio most susceptible to her darkness. Her darkness is lower than Terra’s, sure, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t super susceptible to it being messed with and the issues that that can bring. The reason we don’t see that in BBS is just because nobody’s interested in messing with her darkness because like Xehanort wants Terra’s ass, and Vanitas needs Ven, so that leaves nobody to really try to fuck her up. It’s also why in the Realm of Darkness she seems to constantly give up hope so easily.
Hilarious: She wears heelies around in the heels of her Keyblade armor, the worst part about falling into the Realm of Darkness is she can no longer roller skate anywhere.
Heartbreaking: Aqua falls into darkness not only because of her susceptibility, but because Xemnas/Xehanort presents himself as Terra, and so rather than see her enemy, she sees her best friend and after fighting so long she’s just finally happy to see him again, and so when he offers for her to join him, she does no matter what the cost.
Unrealistic: Aqua’s main possession from her home world that she brought with her to the Land of Departure is her teddy bear. She’s brought this teddy bear with her everywhere, including the entirety of Birth By Sleep. This teddy bear didn’t make the trip to the Realm of Darkness and returned with Terra. (Xemnas takes very good of the bear, alongside Aqua’s armor.)
Kairi:
Realistic: Kairi actually has very vivid memories of her time in Radiant Garden. The reason why she lies to Sora and Riku about remembering her homeworld is one of them, because her most vivid memory is one of Xehanort mentioning how all this happened because he wanted to leave him homeworld so desperately. She hoped if she never brought up how nice her homeworld was before Xehanort and all the Heartless, nobody she befriended here would ever turn out like him.
Hilarious: Kairi started Riku on a swear jar. She uses the money that Riku puts in for cursing on ice cream for herself and Namine.
Heartbreaking: When Kairi hugged Sora Heartless in KH1, she obviously didn’t expect him to come back despite the fact that he did. Had he not revived, Kairi would’ve done everything in her power to bring him back, and would’ve likely acted similar to Axel in KH2 (just with some roles reversed and changed out) all in the vain hope that she could do something to see Sora again since Riku and the islands would’ve been gone.
Unrealistic: Kairi very much kicked Sora’s and Riku’s asses together the first time they played with swords when they were kids and because she was that much better than everybody else they were just like “Kairi it’s no fun to fight you we always lose.” “Fine then I just won’t fight but when I do I’ll still be queen of the island.” (The reason why she fought well is she had to in Xehanort’s tests.)
Chrom:
Realistic: Chrom is the biggest fucking clutz like he cannot, for the life of him, be coordinated. Even in sword fighting, while he’s good at it, it doesn’t stop him from sometimes looking like a lumbering oaf.
HIlarious: Honestly the above is good for this too but also did you know that Chrom has almost stabbed Robin more times than he can count simply because he tripped, fell and oops oh shit there was a sword.
Heartbreaking: When Robin disappeared Chrom actually didn’t get any sleep those first few nights of the search. He was so worried for his significant other/best friend that he would leave the castle in the middle of the night just desperate to see some time that they were okay. The only reason he started to actually catch sleep again is Lissa basically tied him to the bed because she was so worried that he’d kill himself from lack of sleep, because yeah they all missed Robin, but that wasn’t a reason to act like that either.
Unrealistic: There was a solid three month period where everybody in the Shepherds decided to make an inside joke that they were going to have a marriage from Chrom and his sword. Chrom was very surprised one day when he walked in on Lissa dressing Falchion up in a wedding gown and Libra actually stood there ready to officiate the wedding between him and his sword. Robin was embarrassed the entire time because when Chrom confessed he used the “Wind at my back and sword by my side” line and in fact when Chrom first said he loved his sword it was meant for her and was referring entirely to her but because they weren’t public about being in love everybody 100% took it to mean Falchion.
I know the last one isn’t technically Chrom but shut up and let me share my “Shepherds are dumbasses” headcanon.
Adrien:
Realistic: When Adrien first learns that Marinette is Ladybug he does a really bad job of not revealing that he knows because all he does is act like Chat Noir and make cat puns when around her in hopes that his Ladybug would figure it out. She still does not figure it out even after that.
Hilarious: Marinette actually figures out who Chat Noir is because of Adrien not even making a cat pun. After months of Adrien making cat puns what in fact actually happens is Adrien makes a pun about modeling or something like that and somehow the pun instantly makes her think of Chat and she realizes what’s happening. Adrien then spends weeks angry over the fact that she is, in fact, that oblivious but understood it all from an accidental pun.
Heartbreaking: Adrien is desperate enough to have some kind of bond with his dad that if Gabriel Agreste revealed to him that he was Hawk Moth, Adrien would choose to betray Ladybug and have Chat Noir join Gabriel while attempting to figure out a peaceful situation so that way the two most important people in his life would no longer fight.
Unrealistic: The only reason Chat Noir uses cat puns is because he knows they annoy Ladybug. Like they weren’t a piece of his secret identity he expected to stick but they did. (It’s also why he would dismiss Marinette as Ladybug. She laughs at his puns because she’s that in love with Adrien, but Ladybug would groan.)
I just hope you know that if my Ian headcanons suck I blame you. XP
Ian:
Realistic: Ian got so fed up with the Christmas carols in the stores that he heard all Christmas season that he decided to write his own Christmas carols. These carols were actually better than actual Christmas carols and somebody heard them and made their own version and then that Christmas carol became the next annoyingly popular song and Ian was bitter forever at the fact that his only song that became big was that.
Humorous: Ian has a gigantic collection of coffee mugs because he’s just that addicted to coffee. He has so many of these mugs that he was placed on a mug ban but he’s still so bad about not buying mugs anyways.
Heartbreaking: While Ian did occasionally travel back to the Spiral he made only one visible appearance outside of Nicole’s revival island and that conversation we rped with Nick in SW: And that was his children’s weddings, because despite the fact that he died before both of them got married, he wanted them to know that he was there, and proud of them and happy for them.
Unrealistic: Ian spent an entire six months of his life learning how to walk in heelies only to never use them again and give them to Mitch.
Tip:
Realistic: Tip’s main reason for becoming a professor wasn’t just teaching, it was because it was a way for him to take care of and practically adopt kids without actually adopting them, since after his first children and his realization of immortality Tip couldn’t bring himself to adopt anymore while he didn’t have Nicole: Their death would be too painful for him.
Humorous: Tip said fuck once and actually cried so much he decided he would never use it again.
Heartbreaking: Deep down the only reason Tip managed to stay alive during the years between when Nicole died and SW was because he knew, deep down, if he died then he’d forget all about her and never see her again, even if he didn’t consciously remember. Because of this Tip continued to hold on until the chasm, where it was only the rush of happy memories that managed to push him past his tipping point and over the edge.
Unrealistic: There is a universe in which Pat doesn’t make Tip suffer and he gets to be completely happy. ;w;

Fire emblem or pokemon. For the ask please!
I’m going to do Fire Emblem: Awakening. If you want Pokémon, please send that in another ask! (And specify games or anime---it matters!)
My favorite parent-child relationship
Chrom and both Lucina and (male) Morgan. I know there’s a tendency in fandom to characterize Chrom as this bumbling, clumsy dad who has no idea what he’s doing---but in canon we actually see that he’s a loving, supporting father who can get stern when necessary (that cockroach incident), but also cares deeply about both of his children and tries incredibly hard to be there for them. While we don’t get to see as many interactions between Chrom and Morgan as I would like (we only get their supports since Morgan doesn’t get to be involved with the actual plot), I still do love the supports, and the potential that is there for drama and conflict given that, in some timelines, Grima!Robin spirits Morgan away in order to raise him to be her perfect little soldier. (I even have an AU in my head for a scenario in which that happened, but then Morgan later falls into the Shepherds’ custody. There’s quite a bit of strife, particularly since Chrom and Lucina are adamant about not harming him, but others such as Frederick and Severa feel that he’s a threat, and Morgan himself is quite messed up due to all of the years of psychological abuse that Grima laid on him. I’ve never written anything for it, but damn do I have it in my head.)
So yeah, definitely Chrom with both of his children. My family. ♥
My favorite sibling relationship
LUCINA AND MORGAN, HANDS DOWN. Man, words can’t describe how much I love their relationship! Aside from the supports being adorable, there’s potential for conflict and development here that doesn’t exist in Lucina’s other sibling relationships, and that potential lies in the fact that---over the course of the plot---Lucina attempts to kill their mother. Obviously she can’t bring herself to follow through with it regardless of what choice is made, but she still draws Falchion against their mother, which is something that I feel Morgan would have a very negative reaction to, particularly given how much he adores Robin. (Of course, he’s not allowed to participate in the plot and so we never see him find out, but even still.) I do think that this would all be smoothed over in that same scene (I actually wrote a fic of that once, but it’s no longer on Tumblr---I can repost it if anyone wants), but all the same it would definitely cause conflict and strife, and that conflict simply doesn’t exist if Lucina’s mother is anyone else.
There’s also the fact that Morgan has amnesia, which is something that I think would also add more depth to their relationship. Lucina remembers all of the horrors that existed in the Bad Future, and Morgan doesn’t---and in a way, I think Lucina would be grateful for this, that her little brother was spared the memories that give her nightmares and keep her up at night, that motivate her to keep fighting for a better future, while plaguing her with anxiety and vicious fear all the while. But at the same time, Morgan losing his memories of the Bad Future means that he also lost his memories of her, and I think that would hurt. He regains some over the course of the plot---he does remember her, at least to some extent---but many of his memories are simply gone, and since I imagine they were very close, I think that would probably hurt Lucina a lot, too. (And Morgan himself would feel guilty, even as she assured him that he shouldn’t.)
And then there are the AUs---some of which we even see in-game, such as in Future Past---wherein Grima!Robin takes Morgan away, and Lucina has to keep fighting on without her brother, and if the are reunited at any point, he has been abused and warped to the point where he’s actively trying to fight and kill her despite how badly she wants to save and protect him. God, the angst quotient is off the charts here, so on top of the two being sweet and loving, how could I not love this?! BEST SIBLINGS, HANDS DOWN.
My favorite family relationship (other)
I have to admit, though, that I really do love Chrom and Lissa’s relationship. Their supports, wherein he takes none of her self-deprecating bullshit about being a bad princess (and insists that she’s a great princess, and proves it by having her talk to the others around camp) is very sweet, and I love how we get to see them support each other throughout the game as well. To that end, I do consider Frederick to be a pseudo part of their family (in the way that Zazu is to the lions in The Lion King, kind of), and I love his relationship with them as well. Frederick is best family babysitter, by far.
My favorite friendship between two people
I’m really attached to Robin and Gaius in this regard, largely in part due to my headcanon that they were childhood friends from ages 12-15, though Robin doesn’t recall it during the amnesia. This, of course, causes some angst on Gaius’ part, but even setting that aside I just love the way they bounce off each other and I really enjoy the friendship, even if a large part of my enjoyment comes from that headcanon.
But that said?
I also really cherish Chrom’s friendship with Gaius! I think that Gaius is a very important relationship for Chrom, because aside from the fact that Gaius is his future brother-in-law Gaius broadens Chrom’s horizons while at the same time making no illusion to the fact that he’s not doing this for Chrom’s benefit, he’s doing it so that Chrom can stop inadvertently rubbing salt in existing wounds due to Gaius’ own low, underprivileged status. Chrom isn’t trying to be insensitive in his supports, but he is nonetheless---and Gaius makes it clear that his actions in showing Chrom the seedy underbelly of the world are to stop those microaggressions and open Chrom’s eyes to what he’s doing, while at the same time doing so in a way that isn’t as harsh of a shut down as he originally dished out. Gaius offers some reality to Chrom, in other words, and this helps Chrom grow as a person. I really enjoyed their supports.
My favorite friendship between a group
THE JUSTICE CABAL, OF COURSE! Specifically, Owain, (male) Morgan, and Cynthia. All of their supports are absolutely fantastic, and the amount of shenanigans that they can (and do) get up to are unreal. I actually still have an idea for a birthday fic wherein Cynthia and Owain give Morgan a Justice Cabal birthday (shenanigans GALORE), but I haven’t written it yet despite having the idea for several years running now. Maybe I’ll do that this coming May.
My favorite mentorship
Mmm, is there one? I suppose the closest is Robin and Morgan, with the way she tries to teach him various tactics and strategies even as he tries to surpass her. It doesn’t get very much focus, though.
My favorite rivalry
Hah, probably Chrom and Vaike, if only because I can’t think of another one, and Vaike is pretty insistent that Chrom is his rival throughout their supports. (Meanwhile, Chrom tries to pretend that he doesn’t reciprocate, but let’s be real . . . he does. He reciprocates a lot. That cooking contest proves it.)
My favorite hatred/antipathy
MMMMMMM, honestly? There are quite a few good ones that I could name (such as Chrom and Gangrel, for instance), but I think the one that catches my attention the most is the one between Grima and Chrom.
Like, honestly---Grima against the royal family in general could work, because obviously there is a lot of antipathy between Grima and Lucina due to the Bad Future, and between Grima and Robin due to the fact that Robin was bred like a prized dog in order to be Grima’s vessel---but I focus on Chrom because I feel like Chrom stands to have the most to lose here, particularly in a timeline where Chrom and Robin are married and have their children. If Grima possesses Robin, then Chrom loses his wife. If she takes Morgan, he loses his son. Lucina could die. Chrom himself could die, and in my Risen!Chrom AU, well . . . he meets a far worse fate at Grima’s hands. When you consider the fact that Chrom is the Exalt during the vast majority of the plot and the fact that he is the one that wields Falchion and carries the Fire Emblem, that also marks him as Grima’s primary enemy, even though Robin is Grima’s primary target. They’re not quite at foetp level for me, but there’s definitely a ton of antipathy there, and I think it’s quite fun to work with.
My favorite potential relationship between characters who never talk in canon
The DLC chapters actually give us a lot of interaction between characters who don’t otherwise have supports, and so technically these characters do get to talk in canon, but I’m still angry that we never had legitimate supports between Lucina and Severa. There’s no excuse for it and I’ll never be over it, especially since Future Past heavily insinuates that Severa is Lucina’s second-in-command. There was no reason not to give us supports between them, IntSys. None.

👫 dad and dotter?
Send a 👫and I’ll write four headcanons I have about our muse’s relationship | not accepting | @exaltbrcnded
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Being Nifl’s Queen, Chrom will ask Lucina to be the mediator between the two countries. It will serve as a bridge between Ylisse--actually the whole realm, and Nifl (and Askr if possible.)
Whenever he comes to visit, he will take Lucina’s kids to play with them at times, frightening everyone in the castle because he does so without informing anyone. He gets too excited to see them that he just forgets to tell Hrid or Lucina. He apologizes later but hey, don’t blame a grandfather for loving his grandchildren who he can’t see every day.
I think Chrom will try to encourage/convince Lucina to give Askr Grima a chance since the dragon wants to mend his ways. Yes, it sounds crazy, but I think the summoner will participate as well. holding grudges against him will not do her well if he happened to be around. Chrom wants that hatred to die so she does not inherit it to her children. They should not inherit that pain.
If you think they will not play in the snow then you are wrong. Excuse him to battle her--SNOWBALL FIGHTS!
