You sat in your apartment opening the box you received from the mail today. Jun had helped you plan this date for Minghao for his birthday and this item would complete the whole date. You pulled out the lanterns that were in a plastic bag and scanned them.
“Perfect,” You place them carefully in the picnic basket, finally set for your date with Minghao tomorrow. You heard your phone buzz on the table.
Minghao : hi yn, what you up to?
You smiled at his text, grateful that he took the time to text you even with his busy schedule
You : i am currently preparing for our date tomorrow :D
Minghao : ooo how exciting. can i know what you have planned??
You : you should know the answer to that question
Minghao rolled his eyes as he stared at his screen. Of course you would turn the tables on him, he always made your dates a surprise.
Minghao : no fair :(
You : how is this not fair??
Minghao : cuz i want to know lol.
You contemplated but stood your ground; you can’t tell him.
You : guess you just have to find out tomorrow.
Minghao sighed, giving up on attempting to find out what you have planned.
Minghao : fine. but don’t think ill tell you what i have planned for your birthday.
You : yeah yeah i know. dont you still have practice?
He looked at the clock in the practice room and then to some of his members who were sitting on the floor or standing.
Minghao : yeah i should probably get going. its late too, you should sleep.
You : i will dont worry. stay safe and dont push yourself.
Minghao : i wont. goodnight my love, i love you.
You : i love you too.
You locked your phone and took the basket, placing it on the kitchen counter. Tomorrow was going to be an eventful day.
~
You placed the basket with all the supplies you needed in the trunk of your car, deciding to make it a surprise. Taking the other basket that you prepared this morning with various types of food, you put it in the backseat behind the drivers side. Getting in, you started the car and headed to Minghao’s dorm.
You tapped the wheel in excitement, you finally get to have some part of the day with Minghao before his birthday. It was November 6th, so it wasn’t exactly his birthday, but you did get to have him until midnight and that’s all that counts. And it made your plan perfect.
You got to the parking garage and texted your boyfriend that you were downstairs waiting. After 5 minutes, you see the elevator open and Minghao step out, looking as handsome as ever.
He approached the car and got into the passenger seat, giving you a quick kiss. “Hi,” he smiled at you, “Hi,” you smiled back. You began to pull out of the building, picking up a small conversation with each other.
“How was the drive?” You turned down the radio, “Same as usual, smooth, nothing wrong, I was safe.” He smiled, happy that you had a decent ride, “That’s good. So, where are we going?”
You took your eyes off the road to look at him for a split second before focusing back on the road. A grin creeped onto your face, “You’ll find out soon Hao. Be patient, you’ll love it.”
“No, I know I’ll love it, I just have to let my manager know because of protocol,” You sighed, “Is that really the reason?” He looked outside the window, playing with his rings, “Half of it, they told me to have fun.”
You smiled and turned up the radio, “Shut up and enjoy the ride baby. Trust, you’ll enjoy it more.”
~
“This is nice,” Minghao sighed beside you on the picnic blanket. “Yeah it is.”
All the food in the basket was empty, mainly Minghao devouring most of it. “So, what are we gonna do now?” You looked at the time on your phone. Sun sets at 6:45 and it’s 3:50. You have three hours for what you have planned so it should be enough.
“I’ll be right back, I have to get something.” You got up quickly and retrieved the extra basket that was in the trunk. You returned to Minghao, “Ta da!”
“More food??” You laughed and sat down in your place, “No, an activity. Jun actually helped me with the idea.” You opened up the basket, taking out of the things you packed inside, “What is this YN?” He picked up one of the lanterns.
“It’s a lantern. I packed all these art supplies so we could decorate them and light them up and release them. Originally, I wanted to do it at midnight because that’s when your actual birthday is, but the timing wasn’t right, and plus it’s dangerous during nighttime.”
He looked at you with his mouth agape, “That’s so,,, thoughtful. I can’t believe you came up with this.”
“Actually Jun-” “-let’s just give you the credit for now.” You smiled at him as he leaned over and kissed you on the lips. You held his face in place as his right hand was planted in between the two of you so he wouldn’t lose balance. Pulling away, you smiled at each other, “Happy Birthday my love.”
“Thank you, I love you so much. Now! Let's get to painting!”
~
“My lantern looks like crap oh my god,” you looked at the blue blob on your cylinder object. “I’m sure it looks fine YN, just keep going.” You put down the paint brush and looked at your boyfriend.
He’s been in ‘The8’ mode ever since you two started painting. He didn’t want you to see what he was making, so it became a rule that when you both finish, that’s when you present your pieces to each other.
“I don’t know why you’re not letting me see yours, it’s not like I haven’t seen you paint before.” You continued to try and make your blob look presentable by drawing a happy face, “You know, when you took me out here in like the middle of nowhere, I thought you would’ve killed me, broken up with me and left me here to starve, or go cloud watching.”
You looked at him with a weird face, “Well for one thing, there are no clouds today. And two, I wouldn’t have let you starve, that’s too painful.” You finally looked up at you, “So you would’ve killed me?”
You purse your lips, “Would you rather starve to death?” He rolled his eyes and looked back down at his artwork.
“I get that Jun helped you with this, but like, how did the idea come about?” You painted mindlessly while pondering on an answer, “Well I thought of you and what you would like, even if you said anything. But I just thought about what you meant to me, like how lanterns are bright when you light them up, and when you release them, they float. It’s a really bad metaphor, but you’re like my lantern. You’re the light of my life and every time I’m with you, I’m always on cloud nine. Plus it fits with your culture.”
He was looking at you when you tried to sneak a peek at his lantern. “I’m gonna pretend I didn’t just see you try to look at my lantern. But besides the point, that was really cheesy, but I love you.” You smiled and put down the brush.
“Well, I’m done with mine.” You looked at him, seeing him also set down his brush, “Me too. Do we let it dry and assemble it?” You contemplated on your answer for a bit, “Uhh, I could probably assemble mine because it looks like trash anyway, but if you like yours, let it dry a little and then assemble it.”
~
Minghao just finished assembling his lantern after it dried for a bit. It was currently 6:50, the sky was just turning into various shades of orange, pink and purple. “Okay, wanna see mine now?” You looked at your boyfriend and he held his lantern behind his back, “Show me.”
He brought it in front of him and lifted it up, slowly turning it to see the details that he drew on. “Wow, it looks beautiful, I can’t really see it.”
He brought it back down and signaled for you to scoot closer, “This here, is the bouquet of your favorite flower that I got you for Valentines Day,” You smiled as he turned it a little to move to the next picture, “This is the tree that we sat by on one of our dates. The one where a bird pooped on you,” You laughed and slightly hit his shoulder, “I can’t believe you put that there.”
“How could I not? It was an amazing memory. Anyway, this is a drawing of our matching bracelets, I didn’t want to paint it because I thought it would ruin it, so it’s a bit plain.” You shook your head, “No it’s beautiful.” He turned it to the final piece.
“This is a picture of us, or a silhouette of us. We’re watching the lanterns fly up into the beautiful sky together.” You felt a tear drop fall from your eye, “Aw crap what the fuck? Why am I crying?” You giggled and quickly tried wiping away the tears with your hands as Minghao laughed beside you.
He put down his lantern and pulled you in closer to him, “Why are you crying though, baby?” You sniffed, “Because this is a celebration for you, and I feel like I should’ve painted something beautiful for you.” You kissed your forehead softly, “I don’t care what you paint baby, as long as I’m here with you, it doesn’t matter.”
“I kinda don’t want to release that one, it’s too beautiful.” He looked at you with a pout, “but I painted the future.”
You laughed, checking your phone, “Okay fine. It’s 7:10, we should light it up now.”
You both got up, lanterns in your hands. Grabbing a lighter, you lit yours and then Minghao’s, “Ready YN?” You held the hand that he held out, “I feel like I’m in high school musical,” he laughed, squeezing your hand, “Keep it PG, we do not makeout in public.”
“Okay,” You rolled your eyes with a smile, “On the count of three.” You both gazed into each other’s eyes, “1. 2. 3.”
You both let go of the lanterns and saw them slowly float into the sun-kissed sky. You felt Minghao release your hand before hearing jazz music begin to play and feeling his arms wrap around your waist, swaying softly to the music.
“Of course jazz music.” You heard him chuckle behind you, “Well, you can’t blame me, it’s a perfect time for it.” You smiled and leaned more into his embrace.
“Did you like the date?” He hummed in response, his chin on your shoulder, “It was perfect. I loved it a lot, thank you for making this special for me.”
“Of course. It’s, well almost your big day after all.” You turned around, placing your hands on his shoulders and his on your waist. “Happy Birthday my love,” He smiled at you, heart filled with love and happiness as he looked into your eyes more. He leaned in and placed a soft kiss to your lips, taking your breath away. You would never get tired of this feeling.
Pulling away, you smiled at each other before he looked up, “We should take a picture.” He took out his phone from his pocket, pausing the music and switching on the camera. He held it at a low angle to get the lanterns in the picture, but also getting the sunset in the background.
“Say cheese!” Instead of smiling at the camera, you placed your lips on his cheek, him capturing the moment perfectly. “You sly person,” you giggled and quickly pecked his lips. You grabbed his phone and resumed the jazz music.
Hold out your hand, “I believe we were dancing earlier?” He gave you a smirk and took your hand into his before pulling you closer, the two of you watching the sunset and dancing slowly to the sound of jazz.

Pairing - Tony Stark x Avenger!Reader
Summary - Tony Stark’s relationship with Steve Rogers has always been rocky at best, but when he starts noticing all the time that you’ve been spending with Steve Rogers, time you could have spent sleeping with him, he starts to get a little more jealous than normal. He’ll never admit that though. Will he?

Not many things could distract Tony Stark when he was working.
You were one of them.
Tony loved watching you work. Your body seemed to move around the mat without thought, like it was all one fluid motion just streaming from your consciousness. You never hesitated, never stopped, never pulled your punches. You were like a vapor, no one could ever quite get a grip on you. Even in his Iron Man Suit, Tony had never felt as powerful as you looked right now.
Then there was the whole sports bra and leggings and covered in a sheen of sweat thing that was insanely attractive.
The only thing Tony didn’t enjoy so much about you sparring was having to watch you spar with Steve. He didn’t know why it always had to be Steve. He knew others had offered to work with you, but you had always insisted on him. It had even gotten to the point to where Tony had offered to spar with you in the Iron Man suit, but still you had refused. While he knew it was good training for you, Steve was the best hand to hand fighter of them all, that didn’t mean he had to like watching Good Ol’ Captain America trying to get his hands on your bare skin.
Or that.
He had been so engrossed in his thoughts he hadn’t even noticed when you pinned Steve, a triumphant smile on your face as you straddled him. He said something to you, shaking his head, and you laughed, a loud laugh that Tony could hear all the way from his not quite a hiding, but yes a hiding, spot.
Within seconds, he reacted, stepping out into the room with an obnoxious and noisy clearing of his throat. “Am I interrupting?”
“Always,” You replied, sounding annoyed, but the smile you gave him was anything but. It was the smile you only ever seemed to have for him and had him forgetting about the other man in the room. He relaxed at it, his muscles that he hadn’t even noticed were tense, eased and he let out a breath while you helped the super soldier to his feet.
“Did you need something, Tony?” Steve asked, wiping those hands that had just been all over you on his sweats.
“Y/N,” Tony replied, and his pause after saying it might have been intentional. “I finished your suit modifications.” He added.
You raised your eyebrows, but nodded. “Your lab?”
“Right now, if you don’t mind.”
“Now?”
“It’s very important and urgent.” Tony replied.
A knowing smirk flashed on your face for a brief moment before you turned back to Steve. “I’ll see you at dinner tonight, Steve.”
Tony waited until you reached him, sending the Captain a quick salute before putting his hand on the small of your back and walking with you to the elevator.
“You know Tony, it’s interesting . . . I don’t remember needing any modifications to my suit.” You said as you both walked into his lab, and Tony locked the door behind you both.
“Did you not?” He asked, no longer able to resist, he took your ponytail and used it to tug your head to the side, planting his lips on the silky skin where your neck and shoulder met.
“Nope,” You murmured, Tony felt you leaning backwards against him and used that as an invitation to wrap his arms around you, his hand stroking the bare skin of your stomach, slick with sweat. “So that makes me question your intentions of bringing me here.”
A little nip at your neck had the cutest squeak leaving your lips. “Are you implying my intentions are anything less than honorable?” His mouth moved up to nibble at your ear lobe. “Because if so, you are absolutely correct.”
You turned around at that, your hands resting on his chest and sliding down way slower than he would have preferred before stopping at the button of his pants. “Good, because I have some less than honorable intentions of my own.” You replied before giving his growing erection a squeeze.
The way you looked up at him under those lashes was so damn sinful. It was the sexiest thing he had ever seen. “God, you’re hot.” Without another word, he gripped your ass, hoisting you into the air so you could wrap your legs around him. Your lips found his within seconds, tugging his bottom lip into your mouth with your teeth, your hands finding new purchase in his hair. You pulled on the strands and his hips thrusted into yours, while he squeezed your ass tight. You knew how much he liked that. Your answering moan was more than his body could take.
Frantic hands began shoving as much off the tables behind the two of you that you could reach, sending objects and papers crashing to the floor, but neither of you cared. He never did when it came to this. His focus was on you.
He placed you on the table after it was cleared, and began working on getting those tight leggings off your body. “Damn it, why must these things be so hard to get off?” He grunted with the effort, needing to be inside of you as soon as possible.
“Why do you think they look so good? They’re tight as hell,” you replied, tugging on his shirt. “Off,” you instructed.
Normally, Tony didn’t like being given instructions, but for you he would make an exception. He slid his shirt over his head while you shimmied out of your pants, kicking them to the floor. A smirk found its way to his lips as he noticed the red lace you were now sitting in. His favorite pair. You had planned this. “You little minx.” Tony told you, snapping the band with his finger.
“You gonna do something about it?” You challenged, raising your eyebrows at him as your hand rested on the scarring of his chest with a gentle caress that didn’t match your teasing words.
“Oh plenty of things. Would you like a list?” He asked, his hands trailing up your sides at an agonizing pace until he reached your sports bra, tugging it over your head and somewhere behind you. He didnt care where. He was too busy staring at the view before him, bare and perfect, you were a site he’d never get sick of seeing.
“I think I’d rather have a demonstration.” You replied, biting your bottom lip as your eyes traced over his own body.
Tony needed no further encouragement, dropping to his knees in front of you and pulling your legs apart. He kept his eyes locked on you, watching the way your chest moved up and down with your heavy breathing as his lips came closer and closer to where you wanted him. He used one of his fingers to move your thong to the side pressing a soft kiss against your folds as he did. Your hand found his hair again, running through it and encouraging him as he slicked a slow stripe up your folds. The action caused you to whimper in need.
Tony Stark was confident about a few things in his life and knowing just how to make you orgasm was one of them. Just like everything else he did, he was thorough and accurate, moving his mouth just where it was directed to, using the noises you made and tensing of your muscles as his guide until you came apart, your hips thrusting into his mouth.
There would never be anything more attractive to him than the sight of you coming undone because of him.
By now he was painfully hard and couldn’t wait a second longer. He shoved his pants and underwear down, and in one smooth motion slid into your warmth. You let out a moan, slipping an arm around his neck, still shaking with sensitivity from your last orgasm. “Fuck, Tony,” you groaned, holding him close. He pulled back just enough to meet your lips in a kiss, his fingers leaving bruises on your hips as he held onto you. He stilled for a moment, letting you get used to the feel of him. You were so tight, a perfect fit and always eager for him. He could tell by the way that your hands tugged him closer, leaving their own marks on him while your lips messily fought for control, breathless and eager to keep him near you. He responded just as eagerly until your hips started rolling against his, urging him on.
“You ready babe?” He murmured against your lips, always wanting to make sure you were comfortable.
You nodded and without any more hesitation he began thrusting, his mouth moving lower to place tender kisses against your breasts, the sensation causing your chest to arch into his mouth. He took his time with you, his thrusts slow and purposeful as well as his kisses until you were whimpering underneath him, begging for a release which after a few more minutes of torture he gave you with a hand between your thighs, and a few hard thrusts deep inside of you. his own orgasm triggered by yours and he rested his forehead against yours while the two of you caught your breath.
Once the both of you were relaxed, he pulled out of you, tucking a strand of hair that had fallen out of your ponytail behind your ear with a smile before pressing a kiss to your forehead. You let out a satisfied moan at the sensation, closing your eyes and laying back on the lab table while he went to go grab a washcloth to clean you both up. You watched him through heavy lidded eyes as he paused on your underwear, sliding them down your legs and holding them up. “I’m taking these.”
You pouted, your lips still red and kiss swollen. “Why?”
“Because you obviously can’t be trusted with them.” Tony replied as he pulled his pants back up and tucking the thong into the back pocket. He gave you a playful slap on the thigh as he climbed up to join you on the table, handing you his shirt to slip on.
You smiled and put it on, curling into his side and letting your hand draw circles on his chest. “Well, if that’s the case, I need to take all of your pairs of jeans.” You replied.
Tony quirked an eyebrow at you. “Jeans? Really?”
He couldn’t believe it as a slight flush that wasn’t from your previous activity formed on your cheeks. “Your ass looks great in them. Also, I like you a little messy.” You admitted.
From then on, Tony made sure he was wearing his jeans more often.

It was the kid’s suggestion. He loved the movies even though he acted like they were too old for him. But Peter wasn’t the only one, strangely enough the metal armed hobo did as well. Neither one of those would have made Tony put these movies on again, no, the fact was, you loved them too.
You laid down on one end of the couch, eyes glued to the screen as you watched Luke conversing with Yoga about his training. Tony knew that you had seen these movies at least one hundred times at this point, yet you still looked as intrigued as he suspected you did the first time you watched them. It brought a smile to his face.
At least until Steve Rogers entered the room.
He sat down beside you without hesitation, and you smiled at him before twisting your legs to settle in his lap. He saw the fake annoyance on the super soldier’s face, but you continued to smile at him. He sighed, but made no move to push you off.
Tony focused his gaze back on the movie. After all, that was what they were supposed to be doing right? Team bonding and shit or whatever? Not having secret conversations on the other side of the room and whispering to each other - He grabbed his half full bucket of popcorn. “I’m getting more popcorn.” He announced, interrupting your conversation with Steve.
He wasn’t angry. He had no right to be angry. Why should he be angry anyway? You were free to do whatever you want with whoever you wanted. Tony had always told you that this was a no strings attached deal. So if you wanted to go bang the 100 year old virgin, you were free too.
“You’re very intent on that popcorn there.”
“Dear God!” Tony turned around, clutching his chest that was now pounding hard, glaring at the amused look on your face. “Are you trying to give me a heart attack?”
“No, but you almost having one was just a little funny to watch I’ll admit.” He turned away from you, ripping open the new bag of popcorn. “I saw you get up. I wanted to make sure you were okay.”
“Why wouldn’t I be?” Tony asked.
“I don’t know, sensed something was off.” Tony stopped as he felt your hand on his arm, gentle and concerned. “Plus, I kinda wanted some alone time with you.” You added, and he felt your lips press against his shoulder, light as a feather.
His tense muscles relaxed and a smile formed on his face. “Ma’am, I’m going to have to ask you to get better control of yourself. There are innocent children and virgins in the next room, and you -” Tony turned around, wrapping you in one of his arms and pulling you against his chest. “Are being a terrible influence.”
“Hmm . . .” You leaned forward and whispered in his ear, your breath hot against his skin. “I can show you how terrible of an influence I am if you want?”
His hand slipped down to give your ass a squeeze. “Maybe you should show me, see if I can quell some of those bad habits from you.”
“Well, since the rest of the team is occupied . . .”
Tony didn’t waste another second, tugging you over to the elevator as you giggled. So what if you had your feet in Cap’s lap when he got to have you in his bed?
⎊⎊⎊⎊⎊⎊⎊⎊⎊⎊
He wasn’t looking for you. No, he was looking for the very important part that he had been working with early in the morning before putting it down and forgetting it. He definitely wasn’t looking for you because Steve was missing too, and he wanted to make sure neither of you were hooking up.
When he found you both, he almost would have preferred that.
“I’m terrible.” Steve told you as he spun you around the room in a lopsided circle. There were several times he would have stepped on your feet if your reflexes weren’t so fast.
“You’re not so bad!” You were lying. Tony could tell by the sympathetic smile that formed on your lips. “I’ve danced with guys way worse than you, trust me. You’re a lot better than my prom date.”
Steve laughed, shaking his head at your words. “Prom date must have been pretty bad then.”
“Oh, you have no idea.” You replied, your smile turning genuine as he pulled back to spin you. “Where did that come from?” You asked, raising an eyebrow at him.
“Guess I’ve got a couple of tricks up my sleeve.” Steve admitted, grinning down at you, and letting go of one of your hands again to spin you once more.
This time though, your eyes landed on Tony, your smile brightening at the sight of him, but he didn’t notice, his fists clenching around the part he now held in his hand at the sight of you in the super soldier’s arms. “Oh, hey Tony! Sorry, we didn’t see you.”
“Clearly,” He replied.
You frowned at his tone, lines appearing on your forehead.
“Did you need something, Tony?” Steve asked, letting go of you.
“Yes, actually, turn the music down. Some of us are trying to get actual work done here.” He told them, crossing his arms over his chest.
“Come on Tony, we’re just -” You started to explain.
“I don’t care. Turn it down.” He snapped, turning away and leaving the room before he could see your hurt expression.

You were struggling, he could see that. They all were. This mission had been rough, and some had been lost due to a circumstance that none of you could have foreseen. Of course since you had been at the center of it, and you were the one who had been overwhelmed, you blamed yourself.
Tony understood how you felt. He knew the slump of your shoulders, the slow tense and release and deep breaths that you tried to calm yourself down with. It was the techniques you had tried to teach him. They weren’t working though. When the quinjet landed and the rest of the team headed to debrief, you still sat there, your head in your hands.
He wanted to say something. He hated seeing you like this, beating yourself up over something you had convinced yourself you could have prevented. The thing was . . . he didn’t know how to. Working out stress and frustration with sex? Yes, that was something he could do and was good at. Depression and self hate? There were times when he struggled with that himself, so how could he help you?
So with a final glance at you, he left.
You never showed up at the debriefing, you never showed up to dinner, and you never showed up to your room that night. At least according to FRIDAY who Tony had check at 3:00 a.m. while he was still sitting in his lab, fixing parts of his suit that had gotten damaged in the fight. That last bit of information concerned him. Where the hell could you be? “FRIDAY, I want you to see if you can find her. Let me know if she’s still here.”
“She seems to be in the training room with Captain Rogers, sir.” FRIDAY replied.
Tony threw his tools down. That was it. He might not be good at comforting, but he wasn’t going to stand by and let his girl be reassured by golden boy Rogers. That was his job, damn it.
When he found the two of you, the sight of you made him pause. He had known you for several years, and he had never seen you as upset as you were right now. Your whole body was shaking, and the sight made his heart ache. Then he watched as Steve pulled you into his side and held you close. “I just wonder about this job sometimes, Steve. I’m not sure if I’m the right person for it.” He heard you say.
“It’s rough.” Steve told you. “Not everyone can do it. Especially on days like today. You can handle this though. You know how I know that?”
“How?” You asked him, and Tony had never heard you sound so broken before.
“Because you feel bad about what happened today. It’s when we stop caring that we have to start worrying about each other.” Steve told you, resting his chin on top of your head.
The both of you were silent for a moment. Tony knew he could interrupt. He could pull you away from Steve and try to do his best to comfort you even though he didn’t know how. There was nothing stopping him.
That was until he watched you curl deeper into Steve Roger’s side and tell him, “Thank you, Steve. I don’t know who else I could talk to about this.”
A multitude of emotions flooded Tony’s body at your words because he knew that wasn’t true. You could talk to him. You could tell him what was bothering you. It would have been just as easy for you to go find him than to find the super soldier. In fact, probably easier. But instead, you had chosen to talk to him, and come to him for comfort.
Looks like no one can resist the charms of Captain America. Not even you.
⎊⎊⎊⎊⎊⎊⎊⎊⎊⎊
“All I’m saying is that I could get in there, be done in five minutes, and get out with minimal casualties.” Tony insisted.
“And how are you planning on getting past the multiple armed guards on the outside and the ones guarding every floor in the Iron Man suit without being seen? As soon as they see you they’ll flood you, Tony.” You tried to reason with him.
“I’ll be out of there before they even have the chance. With the lack of casualties, it would be worth it.” He said, hitting his hand on the table.
You were shaking your head before he could even finish his sentence. “Not if one of those casualties is you.” You told him in a soft voice.
Tony looked at you then. He could see in your eyes the pleading, the hurt, the confusion that he had been causing over the past few days. Ever since he had found you and Steve together, he had cut off as much contact between the two of you as he could get away with while living in the same building. Just the sight of you right now made him angry. The way you had come in and sat by Steve and started a conversation without even acknowledging his existence made him furious. Yes, he had been staying away from you, but if you cared about him, it shouldn’t be so easy to accept him not being in your life anymore should it? No, as far as Tony was concerned you and the Star Spangled Man could live a happy life together as long as you kept it out of his face. Easiest way to do that? Get himself out of here as much as possible.
“She’s right Tony,” Steve spoke up.
His teeth grinded together as he turned to look at Steve, crossing his arms over his chest. “Of course you would agree with her. Considering how close the two of you are.”
“What is that supposed to mean?” Lines appeared on your forehead, your arms mimicking his own.
He rolled his eyes. “I think you know exactly what it means. If not, maybe you two should have another three a.m. conversation to discuss it.”
Your lips whitened with the force you pressed them together, your jaw clenched. Tony had seen the look in your eyes many times, but it had never been directed at him before. It made him question for a moment whether he should have said that. “Are you fucking kidding me? Is that what this has been about?”
“Annoyed I caught onto your flirting?” Tony asked.
His words were met with silence as the two of you stared at each other, daring the other to speak.
“You know, at first this was entertaining, now it’s just awkward.” Sam spoke up, who Tony had forgotten was even in the room.
“Tony, it’s not -” Steve started to say in that stupid reasoning voice that he always tried to use in arguments, but Tony cut him off before he could finish his sentence.
“Save you explanations, Captain. I saw it first hand.” He said. “You two sure did look cozy on those stairs.”
Apparently that was your snapping point. “Everybody get the hell out.” You said, your voice sounding so authoritative everyone scrambled out of their chairs without hesitation. The only person who hesitated for a moment was Steve, but as soon as you gave him a look, he nodded and left the two of you alone.
“Aww, the two of you are having silent conversations now. I’m impressed. I didn’t think Cap had the confidence to go for it. I guess the Star Spangled Man really does have a plan -”
You cut him off before he could finish his bitter rant. “I’m going to stop you right there before you make an even bigger idiot of yourself.”
“I don’t make an idiot of myself. The signs are all there. Everyone sees how the two of you are around each other.” Tony insisted, disdain leaking into his voice.
“We’re friends! We act like -”
“Oh please, I don’t see you all curled in Danver’s lap when she flies in.” Tony felt a little bit of satisfaction at the stunned look on your face before he continued on. “You know, I thought you had better taste, but I guess that’s just the sex talking.”
He watched as your face turned from utter disbelief to a look of realization, your eyes widening before shaking your head. “You’re jealous. You’re fucking jealous. Tony, we’ve talked about this shit with Steve -”
Yes, the two of you had discussed a few times Tony’s lingering anger at Rogers. How his father had worshiped him and would have kissed the ground he walked on when Tony wanted a speck of his attention. This was a completely different situation. The insinuation had Tony’s blood boiling. “Why would I be jealous? We were just fucking right?”
His words did not have the effect he was expecting. He was shocked as your eyes slowly filled up with tears. In all the years that Tony had known you, he had never, never seen you cry. Even when you had been with Steve that day, you hadn’t cried. Right now, you couldn’t hide it. You stepped backwards and tensed your arms, but instead of it looking defensive, it looked more like you were trying to hold yourself together. “Fuck you, Tony Stark. Just . . . fuck you.” You said, the words meaning to be filled with venom, but instead coming out hurt.
Never had someone looked at him with the amount of betrayal as you were right now. You started backing towards the door, and he started after you. He couldn’t . . . Why were you so upset? “Y/N, wait . . .” His hand brushed your arm, and you flinched like you had been shot.
“Get away from me,” You snapped brushing a tear away before taking off down the hall leaving him confused.
What the hell had you been so upset about?

It took exactly eight hours and sixteen minutes for Tony to realize that he had fucked up. Even he didn’t realize how bad it was until he went to apologize only to find that you were gone. Bags packed and nothing left. Not even a note.
“She went home last night, Tony.”
Tony turned around to face the last person in the world that he wanted to see at this point and time, “but this is her home.”
“Not this home. Where she came from. Her parent’s house?” Steve told him.
Tony sighed and put his hand to his forehead. He could feel the beginnings of a headache coming on. “She’s pissed.”
Steve raised an eyebrow. “Do you blame her?”
He chose to ignore that question. “If she’s so pissed why didn’t you go with her? You could go ahead and met the parents after all. Isn’t that the next step?” Tony snapped, but it didn’t have the same venom as his voice held yesterday.
“You know Tony, your father told me something once that stuck with me.” At the mention of his father, Tony looked up, equal amounts curious and annoyed.
“Was it about how he might have been in love with you? Because there were times growing up that I wondered -”
Before he could finish, Steve interrupted him. “‘The moment you think you know what’s going on in a woman’s head is the moment your goose is well and truly cooked’.” Steve put a hand on Tony’s shoulder. “Your goose is well and truly cooked, Tony.”
“Okay, maybe I was a little out of line, but the two of you -”
“Aren’t anything.” Steve interrupted again.
Those words made Tony freeze. “What?” He couldn’t be telling the truth. The two of you were so close. You were around Steve all the time - Okay, maybe not all the time, after all, you did spend a lot of time with him too. But there was also the fact that you were affectionate - Well, now that he thought about it, you weren’t any more affectionate with Steve than the others . . . In fact if he had to pick someone you touched and hugged a lot it would be -
“Listen, the only reason I’m saying anything is because neither of you are. Y/N and I are just friends. There’s never been anything between the two of us other than having easy conversation. In fact, most of the conversations center around one person.” Steve said, looking pointedly at Tony.
“Betty Grable?” Tony suggested half heartedly.
He shook his head. “She wants to be with you, Tony.”
Tony crossed his arms over his chest. “Then why did she go to you that night?”
“That’s something you’re going to have to ask her.” Steve replied, “but I know you want to be with her too.”
“And how do you know that Capsicle?” Tony asked.
Steve shrugged his shoulders. “Mostly because you came here to apologize, and I’ve never seen you do that before.”
He had him there.
“Just give her some space. Then talk to her. Once she calms down I think she’ll listen.” Steve told him, giving him a smile before he started to head back down the hallway.
“Hey, Cap!” Tony stopped him, and when he turned around, Tony nodded to him. “Thanks.”
“No problem, but for future reference, if you piss her off again, I’m getting the shield.” He replied.
Tony cocked an eyebrow. “Haven’t we proved that the shield is no match for the suit?”
“Oh, it’s not to fight you with. It’s for you to protect yourself with. You’re going to need it if she’s after you.” Steve told him.
The scary thing was that he was right.
As Steve walked away, Tony moved into your empty room, sitting on the bed. All of this new information forced his brain to go into overdrive. There were some facts that he was now forced to accept. The first was that it wasn’t just sex between the two of you. It had started out like that, but it hadn’t taken long before it wasn’t anymore. From the moment you stayed in his room and helped him through a night terror, he should have known it was more.
The second was that you hadn’t thought it was just sex for a while now according to Steve. You had feelings for him. You, intelligent, kind, a badass, and way too good for him, had feelings for him.
Or at least you had, because the last thing he had to accept was the fact that he had, indeed, been jealous of your relationship with Steve, and had acted like an ass about it. The more he thought about it, the worse he felt. You had never given any indication that you cared more for Steve than you did him except for that one night. The night he left you alone when he should have been the one comforting you. How could he blame you for going to someone else when he hadn’t been willing to step up? Then he remembered the look on your face as he told you the two of you had been fucking. You had been so hurt, and some part of him had known it would. He hadn’t cared at that moment though. All he had wanted was to make you feel as hurt as he did at the thought of you running off with Steve when he needed you so badly.
He was startled at the realization. He needed you. Tony needed you in his life to help keep him sane and to make him smile. He needed you to lay next to him and run your fingers through his hair until he was able to sleep. Tony needed to see you smile again.
“FRIDAY, plot a course for Y/N’s hometown.” Tony called out as he stood up from the bed, a plan already forming in his mind.
“Right away, Sir.” The AI responded.
Steve had told him to give you space, but Tony was never good at listening to authority.
⎊⎊⎊⎊⎊⎊⎊⎊⎊⎊
Women liked extravagant gestures right? Grand and expensive things everyone could see and marvel at? Well, Tony was crunched for time, so a large bouquet of blue orchids was going to have to do. He hoped that they would be okay traveling in the bag he had attached to the suit.
“Sir, we’re approaching Y/N’s home.” FRIDAY echoed in his helmet.
“Thanks FRIDAY.” Tony said, zeroing in on a spot to land. With a carefully thought out superhero landing, Tony stood up and looked around. The house that stood before him was modest, the very definition of a white picket fence, including a porch swing. Not to mention the young child who was staring at him with huge eyes. Tony disengaged the suit, and it began dismantling back into his reactor.
The kid dropped the toy she was holding.
Tony made his way over to the little girl and bent down to her level, picking up the toy as he did. “Hey, kid. I’m looking for Y/N. Is she here?”
The little girl took the toy from his hand and stared at him for a minute before nodding.
“Amazing. Is she inside?” Tony asked, but before she could reply, another voice spoke up from the front porch.
“Mr. Stark, is it? I think you should go.”
When he looked up he found an older looking woman, gray hair braided down her back, her arms crossed over her chest and looking very defensive. Y/N looked just like her when she was pissed. “Mrs. Y/L/N, I presume?” Tony asked, standing up and holding out his hand to her as he approached.
As disgruntled as she looked, she shook his hand. “You would be correct. Guess you are a genius.” She replied, sarcasm that made him grin a little dripping from her voice. “Now, my baby girl doesn’t want to see you.”
“I know, ma’am, but I need to apologize to her.” Tony told her.
“I’m sure you do, but not now.” She insisted. “I don’t know what you did, but -”
“Mama! I could use some help with the cake. What’s going -” You froze as you joined your mother, and Tony froze as well.
The whole time that you had been at the tower, you were almost always in casual clothes, leggings and large t-shirts and tank tops with a ponytail unless you had a party to go to. In that case you were always dressed to the nines with extravagant updos and fancy dresses. Right now it was like seeing a new woman. Your hair hung loose in waves and clothed in a mauve sundress that showed off your tan skin. You were even barefoot. He had never seen you looking so carefree. Well, until you realized who was here. Before either of you could say anything though, the little girl he had been talking to ran over to you, tugging on the bottom of your dress. You picked her up and held her. “Yes?” You asked her.
“Isn’t that Iron Man?” The little girl asked.
You looked over at Tony for a brief moment before turning your attention back to her. “Yes, it is.”
The little girl looked at him again and then said, “I thought he’d be taller.”
“Me too, sweetie,” Your mother agreed.
Tony crossed his arms across his chest and stood up a little straighter, trying to make himself appear taller. “I’m of average height actually -”
He could tell you were trying not to smile by the way you bit your bottom lip. “Guys, could you excuse us for a second?”
“Now, baby, you don’t have to talk to him, I could go in there and get -”
“I got it, Mama. Thanks.” You said, kissing her cheek with a soft expression, one your mother didn’t have as she gave Tony another glance before taking the little girl from you and going inside, shutting the door behind them. After a second you turned to him, your expression changing, guarded, as you crossed your own arms over your chest. “What are you doing here, Tony?”
“You left, and compound policy requires at least two weeks notice -” At that moment, he remembered the flowers and reached into the bag over his shoulder to get them, “Oh, and I brought you -” He pulled out the orchids only to find a good majority of them crushed and missing petals. “These.” He finished lamely.
You raised your eyebrows at him.
“They looked much better earlier, I promise.”
“Why did you bring me flowers?” You asked.
“I thought that was standard with apologies.” Tony said.
Shaking your head, you walked down the steps towards him. “I don’t want flowers.”
“Well then what do you want? I’ve got the suit, I can get whatever it is and be back in -”
“I want you to admit that you were an idiot.” You told him once you reached him.
Tony let out a sigh, “I didn’t think you’d need an affirmation of that.”
“Oh, I really do.” You insisted. “In fact, I don’t even think idiotic can properly describe how you acted. Jealous, insecure, angry -”
You were right. Everything you were saying was true. “Y/N -”
“No!” You interrupted. “You wouldn’t let me say anything last time without interrupting so now you’re going to listen while I explain how big of an ass you were!”
Tony knew he deserved all that and more, so he motioned for you to carry on, though he was sure that you didn’t need or want his permission in the first place.
“All I was trying to do was keep you safe! I know your damn, self sacrificing, stubborn streak! If you had gone in there you would have gotten hurt, and God forgive me, I can’t stand the thought of that. And you took it as Steve and me teaming up against you! Then, oh then -” Your eyes locked on his, and he could see the fire in them, attempting to block the hurt. “The three a.m. conversation. You’ve always made it clear you weren’t my boyfriend!” You were so caught up in what you were saying you didn’t even notice as Tony grabbed your erratic moving hands and pulled you towards him. “I wasn’t about to bug you with my problems when you have more than your fair share of your own! Steve was there so I decided to talk to him! He’s my friend, and he’s always been nothing more! But did you believe me? No! You were too blinded by your own issues with him to see what was right in front of your face!” You finished, breathless at this point.
“You’re right,” Tony said once he was sure you were done.
His words startled you, he could tell, but you tried not to show that. “Yes, yes I am.”
“I was an ass, and all of the other things you called me.” Tony agreed. “To be fair, I thought I was losing you though.”
“Why would you care about that? We were just fucking, right?” You asked, biting your bottom lip and looking down to avoid his gaze. You even tried to take a step away, but Tony pulled you back before you could.
“You’re one of the smartest people I know. Do you really believe that?” Tony asked, cocking an eyebrow at you.
“You’re the one who said it.” You admitted.
“You do have a point. Only one way to prove it I guess.” Tony tilted his head and without hesitation met your lips in a kiss. It wasn’t like the normal kisses that the two of you shared, teeth and tongues clashing, no, this one was tender, his lips soft as they parted to slide across yours. While it was different, Tony was finding that he rather enjoyed it, and if your reaction was any indication you were as well. Your hands squeezed his tight before pulling them around you so your bodies could press together. Encouraged, Tony slid his tongue across your bottom lip, but at that you pulled away, shaking your head with your eyes still closed.
“You can’t kiss your way out of this, Stark,” You mumbled, but made no effort to move away from him.
“Is that a jab at my kissing skills? You’ve never complained before.”
You squeezed his hands again and opened your eyes to look at him, “What you said really fucking hurt, Tony.”
“I know.” Tony admitted, leaning forward to press his lips against your cheek. “And I’m sorry. I’m going to do whatever I can to make it up to you as long as you come home.”
“Like what?” You asked, and Tony couldn’t help but smile as you buried your face in his neck.
“Oh, I don’t know, fly you to Paris, take you ice skating, wine tasting in Tuscany, picnics in the park - you know, the usual date stuff.” Tony replied off of the top of his head.
“Date stuff?” You repeated, pulling back to look up at him. “We don’t date, Tony.”
Tony let go of one of your hands to brush some of your hair behind your ear, a fond smile on his face. “Yeah, about that, I think that should change.”
He did enjoy seeing you shocked. It wasn’t often that you were surprised. “What?”
“Clearly, I’m terrible at all relationships in general, so why should I let that stop me from trying a real one with you?” Tony asked, brushing his thumb across your cheek. Man he had missed how soft your skin felt under his fingers.
You leaned into his hand, “and who says I want to be in one with you anyway?”
Those words startled him for a moment before he saw the teasing smile on your face. “That was rude.” He responded.
“You were rude.” You replied, “and you’re going to get a lot more punishment than that for your ridiculous jealous behavior.”
“Punishment? You know I have those handcuffs -”
“Nuh uh, Stark, this is not the kind of punishment you will enjoy. No sex for at least a week, maybe two.” You told him.
He gasped. That one hurt, but he knew he deserved it. “Rough, but fair.”
“And you have to come inside because it’s my nephew’s birthday, and he loves Iron Man.” You added. “Forget that his aunt’s an Avenger . . .”
“Is that the one staring out the window and swatting at his sister I’m assuming?” Tony asked, amused.
You turned your head, resting your head on his shoulder and smiling at the two children who ducked under the sill at being caught. “That would be them.”
God he had missed having you in his arms. He hadn’t realized how much until this moment. You felt good, warm and soft, not to mention calming, and that wasn’t something he got to feel often. He brushed his lips against your forehead and whispered, “You know your mother hates me.”
“Believe it or not, that’s a good sign.” You replied. “It’s when she’s indifferent to you that you need to be worried.”
“Well then, I better go make an even worse impression.” Tony said, squeezing you tight for a moment before letting go of all but one hand. He started to walk up the steps to the modest home, but you tugged him back. He gave you a questioning look, but you just slipped a hand into his hair on the back of his head, standing on your toes until you met his lips in another kiss. It was slow and sensual and filled with promises and lazy movements. His hands drifted to your waist, his fingers spread wide apart so he could touch as much of you as possible.Tony could honestly say he had never been kissed like that before, and when you pulled away, he let out a disappointed groan.
You giggled at the sound and kissed his chin for a brief second. “I need you to know it was always you, Tony. You’re the one I’ve had feelings for this whole time. Never for one second has it been Steve, and it never will be. You know that now, right?” You asked, biting your kiss swollen lip in a way that had Tony wanting to pull your dress up right now if it wasn’t for the situation.
With the way you looked at him in that moment, all concerned and nervous that he thought you had feelings for Steve? Tony knew that you were being honest. As crazy as he found it, you wanted him. Not the ridiculously handsome super soldier with perfect teeth, but the hot mess of a human being that was him.
The thought made him smile. “Yeah, Y/N, I know.”

Stealth and Smoke pt 2
Genre: || Romance || Action || Humor || Drama ||
Word count: 5395
Warnings: Violence and swearing
Summary: The SVT gangs reign as the most notorious gang spanning across all of Korea wasn’t for nothing. But no one really knew the mastermind behind the gang, except for those within it. As a new gang member, your job was to hold a gun, fire when necessary, and keep your mouth shut. This operation was different, placing you as 1 of 4 main members in a rather risky heist that couldn’t just land you in big trouble…it could land you 6 feet under.
A/N: I remember reading a post about how people hate having to scroll through really lengthy stories on their dash so, i am adding vvvv so others won’t have to scroll through the whole story. Also, feel free to comment if there are any mistakes or if something is off. Enjoy!
The sound of your alarm rang throughout your room, earning a monstrous groan from you as you turned onto your back and grabbed your phone, shutting off the alarm instantly.
You hesitated to open your eyes, finding it too tiring to even do that much.
But, you said you’d get coffee with Jihoon...and you’ve got a mission at noon.
You sighed heavily as you pushed yourself up from your bed, your eyes still not open, you run a hand through your messy bed head and snicker to yourself.
You were a complete mess, but you were a cute mess.
You pulled your blanket off your legs and shivered at the chill of the early morning. You could see the dusty blue light of the early morning shining through your curtains, making you smile at the aesthetically pleasing visual. Of course, the sun was only just poking its head out.
You finally pulled your legs over your bedside edge and hopped up, stretching your arms over your head as you made your way to your bathroom.
A quick shower before going to see Jihoon.
As your morning routine went on, the Sun's rays slowly intensified until they were completely bright. By the time you finished, it was very quickly turning to 9 am. You neatly fixed your hair and smiled, finally you grabbed your gun holster and gun, hiding it under your shirt. You grabbed your casual Brown backpack and packed only your essentials. You know, your phone, headphones, a hat, your wallet, two knives and 6 vials of poison....for protection.
You closed the door behind you, locking it before activating a small camera you had installed at the entrance of your door. With that, you went out on your way. You pulled your cell phone and headphones out of your bag quickly before taking the case of it off, showing a small piece of paper.
Jihoon’s number.
You held the paper carefully, almost as if you feared you might lose or tear it. You looked down at your phone and then at the piece of paper again.
You turned your phone on and pulled up the keypad, eyeing it carefully before dialing the number. As you approached the end of the 8 digit sequence, you could feel a bead of sweat roll down the side of your head. Why were you nervous? You didn't have to be nervous. It was just….coffee….like friends. Or something.
No, you had to be professional about this. You didn't need to be getting in trouble for strolling into Jihoon’s life.
With a firm nod, you put the paper into your pocket and continued to walk, pressing call as you did so.
“Hello?”
“Jiho- Ah, Woozi. It’s (Y/N). Um...I just, hah.” You felt confident when you pressed call, what was choking you up?
“(Y/N)...Hey.” The roughness of his voice and the soft whisper behind it put you off. Had he just woken up?
“Oh. Sorry, sir, did I wake you? I didn't mean to-”
“No, thanks. I suppose my alarm clock didn't wake me up. Is it 9 yet?” He asked casually, a shuffle behind his phone made it seem as if he was just shuffling out of bed.
You blinked in confusion and honestly tried a little to not chuckle. You looked back down on your phone and checked the time. 8:54 am.
“Well sir, You’ve got six minutes till it'll be 9.” You replied simply, hopping down a few flights of stairs as you did so.
“Okay, I'll go pick you up.” He replied, earning a scoff from you.
“Sir, you've for six minutes. If you got ready that quickly, I'd be concerned about your forms of hygiene.” It wasn't until your comment left your mouth that you finally processed what you had said.
“...Are you saying I'm Dirty?” Jihoon asked calmly, his voice rising in pitch now that he was properly waking up.
“...NO. I-I’m saying that, if you got ready to go on a date so quickly, I would be seriously wondering what sort of magi-”
“Date?” He stopped you, almost making you stop in your tracks. Thank goodness you hadn't, or else that would have been a long fall down the stairs.
“Date? Did I say that? I don't think I said that you must have misheard me or something.” You covered up quickly, earning a light chuckle from the male across the phone.
“Sure. Okay. Well, fine, I'll see you in fifteen minutes for our not-Date. Bye (Y/N).” He replied, his amusement almost hidden, but you caught just enough to have you smiling. With that, his line cut.
You looked down at your phone and smiled, staring at the number that now resided in your phone. Jihoon’s number. Oooooh. You didn't know if you were starstruck or nervous as hell but, seeing his number there only had you in smiles.
Finally putting your phone away, and allowing the previous conversation to sink into your psyche you ran your hands through your hair as your face began to heat up.
“I totally did not just call our outing a fucking DATE!” You exclaimed at no one but, it very clearly echoed throughout the stairway. You sighed, trying your best to just let it go. Jihoon isn’t the kind to rub that sort of stuff back in your face, like Soonyoung.
But still, Maybe...Just maybe...This could be a friendship. A REAL one. Well...You shouldn't get your hopes up, after all...He is the Captain of the Stealth unit. A cold-hearted killer.
Jihoon took a little under fifteen minutes to find you. You lived rather far from the base so, just the thought of him finding you in so little time had you wondering if he lived close to you. Or had just tracked you.
When he pulled up, you didn't recognize the car one bit. It wasn't the black car he had had last night. Instead, it was replaced with a beige and brown convertible with its top pulled back. Inside, Jihoon sat with a pair of glasses and in casual clothing. You took in what you were looking at and laughed audibly, shaking your head.
“Good morning, (Y/N).” Jihoon called, nodding his head as a greeting.
You smiled and walked over to the car, looking at it back and forth. “Good Morning, Sir.” You replied before pointing to the car. “Is this really yours?” You asked, almost playfully.
Jihoon pushed his glasses up and smirked, “What, do you like it?” He asked. It was almost like one of those scenes in a greaser movie.
The cool guy pulls up in his nice car, looking hot as heck.
Except, Jihoon just looked like a guy who worked in a shop down the street in his attire.
You snickered and pulled the car handle and hopped in beside him, placing your bag between your legs before closing the door and fixing your seat belt.
You looked at him with a friendly smile, “So, Captain, where are we drinking?” You asked casually before he turned back to the wheel and drove out. “First off, don't call me Captain. I don't run a ship.” He replied casually, earning a nod and an airy laugh from you.
“Okay, Noted.”
“Secondly, We're going to a local coffee shop. An old friend of mine has his cousin running it, so I know it. Unless you have some other place in mind?” He asked, glancing at you momentarily. You shook your head and looked to your other side, taking in the sights‌ ‌and‌ ‌shops of your neighborhood.
“(Y/n)?” He called, turning your attention back to him. “Yes?”
Jihoon slowed his car at a red light before looking at you, eyeing you up and down. “Where are your weapons?” He asked openly, making you subtly panic.
“U-Uh...Sir...we are in pub-”
“Jihoon. Just call me Jihoon. I don't know why you feel like it's suddenly important to call me by an honorific.” He cut you off. Okay, that cutting off thing was starting to get on your nerves.
“J-Jihoon. We are in public. Should we really be discussing that so...openly?” You asked, gritting your teeth almost.
Jihoon sighed and turned his attention back forward, “...Okay. Well, What sort of small talk do you suggest?”
“That was your attempt at ‘small talk’?” You replied, shaking your head in disbelief.
“Well, what do you suggest we talk about then?” He replied.
“Well, Normal people usually ask...How did you sleep? Or, How is your family? You know, basic simple things.”
Jihoon raised a brow and looked at you, almost as confused as you were with him. “...Okay….Well, How did you sleep?” He asked hesitantly. You smiled a little, you didn't really expect him to ask. “I slept fine. I had a weird dream, but that's about it. How about you?” You continued, but Jihoon wasn't about to let you speed past what you had just said.
“Weird dream? What happened?” He asked, just as he was pulling into a small shopping mall. You didn't know if you should tell him what really happened since your dream wasn't weird. It was...awful.
Jihoon pushed a button allowing the cover to come over the top as well as pulling up the windows. He turned the car off and looked at you as he pulled out the key. You had stayed silent to his question.
“..(Y/N)?” He pestered you once again.
You grabbed your bag and slipped it over your shoulders before scoffing.
“I'll tell you when I've had my morning boost of energy.”
Jihoon shrugged and pushed out of his car, fixing his outfit.
When you walked over to his side, you took in his outfit.
A casual white t-shirt and a pair of jeans with a black belt tucking in his shirt. Along with his glasses, he looked like a casual College or High School student. Well, compared to you at least.
For the first time, you were seeing your scary superior as a more vulnerable human. In fact, his small frame was startling. After all, this man could take out a whole squad of men by himself but he could barely reach your shoulders.
You hadn't even noticed how spaced out you were until Jihoon waved his hand In front of your face. You blinked suddenly and shook your head, returning to reality.
Jihoon stood in front of you, hands on his hips, with a small smirk. “What is going through your head, (Y/N)?” He asked, almost like a rhetorical question, not actually expecting a response.
You grinned playfully before walking ahead of him into the nearby shop, taking in the air conditioning and the soft smell of coffee beans. The people at the front cheerfully greeted you before asking who would be with you.
A waitress showed you two to your table, leaving a small menu of the coffees’, cold drinks, and teas they served. Honestly, the shop was much nicer than any other coffee or tea shop you had been to. You looked down at the menu, settling for a simple Mocha Latte while Jihoon set his mind on the peppermint hot chocolate with cream.
As your orders were sent in, Jihoon turned his attention back to you.
“So….You were talking about some dream…?”
You pulled your bag off and scoffed, hoping he would have forgotten but...eh, guess not.
“Heh, well. It wasn't very interesting. It was just about some past places I've been to. Some places are new or like...forgotten?”
Jihoon leaned back into his chair, staring at you intently before crossing his arms. “I’m listening.” You bit your lip as you tried not to show just how irritated you were. Did you REALLY have to tell him?
You scoffed and nodded, glancing down at your hands before looking back at Jihoon. “I dreamed about my older brother. He and I had a special friendship and...” You found yourself pausing.
“And?” Jihoon repeated for you, causing you to shake your head. “I had a dream about him and me in our old home. That’s all.” You finally said, leaning back into your own chair.
Jihoon finally shifted, pushing himself from his chair so he could lean on the table, his palms acting like his shelf to rest his head as he spoke, “Now, don’t go telling other people.”
You looked at him with shock, a question mark rising in your head as he continued to speak. “You’re an easy target.” He said, shaking his head. Your eyes widened a little in realization. You had told him about your brother. He may not know him but, now he k n o w s you have a brother.
“Why?” Jihoon asked, continuing his conversation. You already knew what the answer was. “Because...Now you know I have a family. It makes them and me easy targets.” Jihoon smirked and nodded. “Correct. Honestly,” he continued just as your drinks were arriving. The waitress placed the drinks down and Jihoon thanked her before she once again left.
Jihoon waited for her to be a safe distance away from you two before he continued. “I always thought you didn’t have anyone.” He said before working on sipping away at his hot chocolate, careful to not get any cream on his nose.
You fixed your eyes on the cup of coffee in front of you, feeling a little on edge. “Are you always so delightful?” You asked sarcastically, finally picking up your own drink to sip.
“Only when I’m on the job,” Jihoon replied nonchalantly. You scoffed loudly, “We have two hours before we have to be on the job. Why are you testing me on a da-” You cut yourself off from your statement.
Jihoon placed his drink down and crossed his arms again, raising a brow. “Do you want this to be a date?”
You felt yourself freeze for a moment.
This scenario is a bit like a date when you really thought about it. “The...basic principles of a date are here but-”
“So why not call it a date?” Jihoon added, cutting you off for the umpteenth time. You looked around nervously and chuckled, “Sir, I don’t think that’s quite appropriate. You’re my superior and-”
“But we’re not on the clock, remember?” Jihoon replied, a smile growing on his lips. You chuckled, raising a brow at him, “Are you trying to date me?” You asked jokingly. Jihoon’s response is what really caught you off guard.
“Would it be a crime if I said I do?”
Your silence was definitely the last thing that Jihoon expected.
You looked down into your coffee cup and a million thoughts ran through your head, last night’s mission, how today’s might be, the past and the future all jumbled up in your head and you found yourself feeling only one thing, shock.
Jihoon sighed loudly and leaned back into his chair, crossing his legs before looking away from the table. “Listen, it’s not a life or death question.” Jihoon finally said, clearly sounding a little bothered.
“You can say yes or no, it won’t hurt you or me.” He concluded, picking up his cup of hot chocolate and sipping it again.
You gripped your cup a little less now, still not looking up at him. “I….”
Jihoon groaned, rolling his eyes at your reaction. He leaned onto the table so that he was only a few inches away from your face. He carefully slipped your cup out of your hand and placed it aside. He folded his hands in front of him and he looked directly at you.
“Look at me.” He said firmly, finally causing you to look at him, meeting his dark eyes. You breathed out a stifled breath you didn’t know you held and for a long moment, you felt your shock fade away, “I’m not going to hurt you. I won’t hate you. And I definitely won’t put you out of a job.” Jihoon explained flatly, your attention still on him. “All I’m asking is that you take me up on a proper date. One where we won’t have to look over our shoulder.” His voice lowered a little along with his gaze.
You gulped down hard as you nodded, listening to him carefully. You didn’t HAVE to say yes. You could totally leave him with a no. But...something in your head told you you should. He had risked his life to protect you and he arranged a coffee meeting which was way more than any other guy had done for you, even Soonyoung had never properly asked you out.
“Hah...alright, fine. I accept.” You replied, finally breaking your shocked cocoon and instead smiling at him.
Jihoon’s own expression changed, giving you a very soft smile. Something so warm, your coffee probably felt cold compared to it. “Great. Hah, G-Great, yeah.” He replied, stuttering over his words.
The atmosphere went awkward very quickly as he sat back, nodding at your response. It looked as if he was trying to process that you had actually said yes.
As the atmosphere grew even more uncomfortable, you found it almost second nature to take out your phone and check the time.
It had only been about 20 minutes in total. Incredible, truly.
You put down your phone and looked over at Jihoon, his eyes now catching yours. “What?” You asked.
“Nothing, Nothing. Just trying to think of some conversation topics but, I’m….not very good at the whole…’ small talk’, thing.”  He replied before going in for his drink.
You snickered softly, “Ah, well, that makes two. But, here, I’ll start. So, are you excited about work later?”
Jihoon scoffed at the question, shaking his head, “Excited for what? To watch ugly men unnecessarily assert their masculinity over trivial things? Hell no.”
Not expecting that answer, you couldn’t help but throw your head back in laughter. Who could have thought Jihoon was actually quite funny.
“Oh man, that had me floored.” You replied between short chuckles. “Ah, I didn't think it was that funny but, I guess,” Jihoon replied before sipping his drink again. You settled yourself, also sipping your drink before you each looked back at each other. Although you both had eye contact, it wasn’t quite as uncomfortable.
“So….what, are you excited about the job?” He asked, leaning back into his seat again and crossing his arms over his chest.
“Me? I mean, it’s not the whole team for this job. Whenever we don’t have everyone, I do get a bit...um, I don’t know if ‘excited’ is the right word I’d use to describe how I feel about it.”
“Apprehensive? Anxious? Bloodthirsty?”
The last one had another chuckle come from you, along with a smile from Jihoon.
“Ah, I don’t know about that last one, but yeah, Anxious and Apprehensive can sum it up well.” You replied. Jihoon shook his head again, “You’ve got no reason to be. If you feel so nervous, maybe we should ask Seungcheol if he’ll take you out.” He replied, but you were quick to speak.
“Um, no? Why would we do that? It’s not like I’m going to chicken out at the last minute, that’d be ridiculous!”
Jihoon raised a brow, “If you’re nervous, you’ll react like you did last night.”
Suddenly, you felt your whole stomach in your chest, or maybe, the other way around? Either way, it was like just saying that had completely guilted you into feeling sick.
“Ah...Last night…”
“I’m not saying it will happen every time but, we couldn’t risk losing someone like you from the team. If anything, staying behind might be best for you. You clearly don’t trust the team enough to still be scared after all this time.” He replied, almost as if spitting facts.
You looked down into your drink, staring back at yourself as if expecting something.
You furrowed your brows as you continued to look down.
‘No, that’s not it.’ You thought before looking up at Jihoon.
“My anxiety won’t get in the way again. I’ve seen too much to still be affected by it.” You replied firmly, but Jihoon only sighed.
“Well, regardless, you shouldn’t be so nervous over today’s job. We’re only delivering, we’re not risking too much here.” He replied simply before leaning forward onto the table, placing a hand on your shoulder.
“Trust me and trust the team, we’ve always had each other’s backs. It’s not like we’re gonna stop anytime soon.”
Your chest and stomach found a new home in your throat rather quickly as you took notice of Jihoon’s laid back and (dare we say) warm approach to this type of conversation.
“I-I will! Of course, I will, I trust you with my life!” You exclaimed quickly, causing Jihoon to move back with a half-smile.
“I’m not sure if I’m glad or not,” He replied, sipping down his last bit of chocolate. “Regardless, I am happy to see you’re fired up. Maybe save that fire for later tonight, I’m sure Seungcheol has the ‘party’ planned for tonight.”
You nodded sharply before returning to finish your own drink.
As soon as you gulped the last of your mocha, you two made your way to the base. Obviously, as soon as you walked in, there was dear Soonyoung to kiss your feet (not literally).
“(Y/N)!” He called out before jogging up to you two. “Good afternoon! I’m glad to see you’re one of the first ones here!”
“Yes, and if it wasn’t for Jihoon, I probably would have been late.” You replied simply, which caused Soonyoung to eye Jihoon. “I see. Good afternoon Woozi, how ya doing?” Soonyoung asked, placing a hand on said person’s head before ruffling up his blonde hair.
You felt all the hairs stand up on your body as soon as Soonyoung finished. If you didn’t get hurt or die from this small job, perhaps you’ll be injured or added as an accidental casualty to Jihoon’s list.
Jihoon looked up at Soonyoung with a scowl, “I was just fine before I got here. (Y/n) and i had a very relaxing morning together.” He replied and judging by Soonyoung’s barred teeth, he wasn’t too happy to hear Jihoon had been with you.
“I see, so what information did you extract from them?” He asked with a low tone. “Or perhaps you tricked them and got more than they were expecting?” He said slowly, his eyes narrowing in anger. Jihoon’s own eyes narrowed as he starred up, ready to bark back.
“He didn’t extract jack squat from me Soonyoung, just leave him alone.” You cut in, placing yourself between the two.
Soonyoung stepped back with shook clear on his face.
“You two clearly have somethings you need to settle but don’t make this about me. Go get some guns and blow each others brains out or something!” You exclaimed, huffing at both of them.
By their expressions, they both seemed rather shocked at your outburst, but...you were so tired of Soonyoung always harping at you like a dog does to meat. And Jihoon? G/d knows he believes he’s such hot shit that he can say anything to anyone.
“I don’t want to see or hear from either of you for the rest of this job or so help me I will shoot you both myself.” You barked once more walking away from the two, leaving them shocked, speechless, and gawking.
They had really done it this time, pissing you off like that. I guess you were getting more comfortable with Jihoon since you clearly grew a pair so big, you actually threatened Jihoon. You know, leader of the stealth unit? The living, breathing embodiment of death? Yeah, that guy. Still, you didn’t waver in your thoughts at all as you took a seat in between two of your members. Thank goodness your good friend Joshua was to your left.
“You seem tense.” He cooed sweetly as if he hadn’t just heard your whole outburst.
“Ugh.” Was your only reply before throwing your head forward on the table, but not before Joshua could add his hand to soften the landing.
“Thanks.” You said quietly into the table.
“Don’t thank me, just talk to me when we get the chance, alright?” You looked up at him from the table with a confused expression but, judging by Joshua’s gentle smile, he clearly just wanted the details on the tea.
It’s not like you weren’t going to tell him anyway.

mafia! Mingyu
anon requested: “Could you do Mafiamember!Mingyu please?? Thank you!!”
Admin Jess: Ok so I know this is extremely late, but I wanted to make sure I could do this au correctly so I researched and rewrote, and made people edit and read this and went over it again and so yea,,, Hope you enjoy:)
Warnings: This is a bit of a ride,,, so mature themes including mentions of death, drugs, mild cursing, it's a mafia au soooo...
Word count: A LOT MORE than usual
Mafia! Mingyu is no joke everyone
like damn
klutzy or not this boi can do it all
he knows how to dress a bullet wound faster than any surgeon can
knows how to make fairly powerful explosives too
but don't ask the others how he practices
there have been too many times when Seungcheol has had to yell "COVER!!!" as Mingyu sets off one of his experimental explosives
let's just say the others have flame resistant tables close by whenever Mingyu is experimenting
he's still really young
new to the Svt mafia gang
not the youngest admittedly but already an indispensable member
he runs exports on explosives because that's his specialty of course
but since that isn't always in high demand
he's in charge of the clean-up committee
removing any evidence of the gang and their activities from any physical place
which is probably why the cops haven't caught them yet
there's never any evidence
not even a speck of blood
not even a hair
nothing
it's like they're ghosts
Mingyu generally runs his own team through Svt's side businesses
either exporting explosives, or cleaning up after the mess of a job
but other times you can find him partying with the others in some club
or playing some high-stakes poker with some of the other members, like Wonwoo since he runs Svt's underground games
on really rare occasions for really important jobs
he gets called in for protection racketeering
because Seungcheol trusts Mingyu the most to handle these sorts of one client jobs
Svt specializes in protection racketeering
protecting people who can't get protection through the law
or protecting people from the law
big jobs require everyone
but the small scale ones
Mingyu get called along with some others
which is where you come in
where you meet Mingyu
you see
you didn’t like the family business
but hey a person’s gotta eat
even if that means you have to supply drugs to the criminals in this town
whatever it takes
at least you can afford some nice shoes
like those heels you got last week
the ones that are sharp enough to poke someone's eyes out
quite literally
at this point, you're kind of used to it
the whole running around with the wrong crowd
the feeling of your heart racing as a deal goes down
you're the face of your family business now
your dad ran the lab
made everything
handled all the business behind the scenes
and you were the pretty face up front
making the deals
smiling because you know you live on the edge now
and the feeling is a bit exhilarating
your dad takes you to the lab often and shows you how to use the equipment
but you're not too interested in the science behind it
but he shows you anyway
in case things ever go wrong
and you need to run things by yourself
it made enough sense to you anyway
things weren't always like this of course
you used to be a very normal family
before the accident
and your family fell into debt from a steadily increasing hospital bill for your mom
and when your mom passed away
the law felt no sympathy
never showed you and your dad, who had never hurt even a fly before, any mercy
and in that cruel moment of time
your dad turned to other methods for a way to pay off the debt
when the law fails you
you don't listen to it
besides
the drug business is good money
dirty but good money
and as much as you didn’t really want to have to deal with slimy characters
people too high out of their minds to give you the time of the day or what year it was
or how it fueled gang business
you welcomed it
welcomed the lifestyle
as risky as it was
because you had your father with you
and the law didn’t need to know
slowly your debt was repaid
but by then you had been done with trying to lead a normal life
it was boring, not fun
and to be honest
you didn't know what else to do anyway
still you knew your dad was getting tired of living dangerously
soon your family business became the biggest in the area
enough that your dad could buy a nice little house in the suburbs
enough that you could leave this life behind the both of you
and just enjoy life
but things in the drug circle don't always work out that nicely do they?
because when you deal with drugs and criminals
there's always danger around you
and you can't let down your guard for even a second
one day you head home to your small apartment in the bad part of town
you had been packing your stuff to move into the new house with your dad
everything had been going smoothly
but when you get home
your dad is gone
and the lab and everything
it’s just gone
everything was silent
you close the apartment door and look out over the cardboard boxes littering the floor
the picture frames of your family before you started the business
the various books from your childhood
all your memories were packed away in these boxes
but where was your dad?
you hear a knock on the door
it's loud and cuts through the silence like a knife
you steady yourself as you remember
your dad had briefed you many times on what to do if he was found out
deals can go sour, plenty of people could have been after him
wanting blood for one thing or another
or the cops could have caught him
many things could have happened
but the first thing he told you?
never open the door if someone knocked
only those who don’t have a key knocked
and if they don’t have a key
they weren’t your friends
you slowly backed up to the kitchen where your dad hid emergency supplies
cash in ziploc sandwich bags
fake ID’s and passports
extra drugs to sell in a pinch
and your hand wrapped around what you were looking for
the gun
you grabbed the supplies slipping the backpack over your shoulder and steadily, calmly aimed at the door
and waited
the knocking had stopped and you could hear voices
"The boss said this was the guy's house."
"That old man sold us short!!! He owes us thousands, he has it coming!!!"
"His daughter should be home soon, let's just grab her and get out before the cops are called."
“That'll show him for trying to mess with us."
"I can't wait to put a bullet through them both."
your blood runs cold hearing their words
a bang shakes the whole frame of the apartment
you know your neighbors won't be any help
no one's here
you slowly back up looking for your phone and some possible escape route
when the worst possible timing happens
and your phone rings from across the room
"Fuck, I knew there was someone inside!!!" comes the voices outside as the pounding on your door increases
you dive for your phone
“Hello?” you curse yourself for having a shaky voice
“Miss y/n? Your father left you in our protection, please follow our instructions carefully.” a deep voice said calmly
you jumped at the sound of metal crashing on metal
"Great if you have instructions I'd like to not die." you say
“He told us to tell you emergency code 7991 if you don't believe us." the deep voice returns
the emergency plan number, the one your dad told you meant to throw away any inhibitions you have and to follow this plan in order to live
it also meant a deal went sour
“Ok so what do I do now?!?!?" you supply pulling both backpack straps higher onto your back and leveling the gun in your hand
“Someone is waiting outside to take you to a safe location, all you have to do is get out of the apartment.”
the front door bursts open right as you hear these directions revealing several men
with weapons no less
you frantically looked around and spot the bathroom window
"Grab her!"
quickly, you throw it open as you take the short leap and land outside
you take off before they have a chance to even aim a gun at you
you run around a corner
before being jerked backwards by someone who grabbed your arm and covered your mouth with a hand
'Fuck me if this is how I die.' you think struggling to escape whoever it is
'To think I was going to buy that jean jacket I've had my eyes on for weeks..'
great last thoughts, y/n
struggle as you might you were no match for this person
you twist your head to try to look at him
and you stop struggling bc
something about him doesn't seem all that dangerous
wow don't you love having your priorities straight before possibly dying
the men from earlier run past shouting and you see the guy who's holding you stare at them for a bit after they disappear through an alley
and the man holding you sighs in relief before letting you go and placing two firm yet gentle hands on your shoulder and looking at your face with dark eyes
he was at least a head taller than you and his face was handsome and his features were sharp and dark
his hair was lightly tousled and his gaze felt reassuring for some reason as you stare at him
“I’m here to take you to the safe house.”
'so time to think very carefully about what your next words are, y/n, he could be here to kill you' you think
"Ok."
smoooooth
he says nothing more as he pulls you up and opens the door to a black mercedes parked a bit away
you stand frozen, heart racing from your too many near death experiences today
him dragging your arm as you stop in front of the car
this is why you don’t like the family business
if only drug dealers could retire and get a nice house in the suburbs without needing bullet proof windows
or bullet proof anything
or a heaping helping of death and danger every five minutes
“Who are you?” you ask
real smart y/n asking the stranger who saved you from a bullet in the stomach who they were, you thought to yourself
he turns back to face you
and you think ‘DYING BY STUPID QUESTIONS WOULD NOT BE FUN TODAY!’
but he just tilts his head to the side a bit
and gives you a cute smirk
“You can call me Mingyu.”
then he pulls you into the car, slamming the door behind you, taking the driver's seat and hits the accelerator faster than you could say “seatbelts first”
screeching out of the parking stall
racing down the road
you grip onto your backpack containing your few emergency supplies
holding the gun lightly in front of you in view of Mingyu
“There’s no need for that”
Mingyu caught your eyes through the rearview mirror
“If I were here to kill you, I would have done it by now.” he throws the words out casually
“Why thanks Mingyu-ssi, that’s super reassuring.” you huff, lowering the gun by a bit
he chuckles at your response which surprises you
guess even the mafia has a sense of humor?
“Soooooo, Mr. Mingyu, did my father hire you?”
“Yes,” Mingyu said glancing at you through the rearview mirror again, “hired us to protect you until he could clean up this mess that the deal left.”
cryptic
but you weren’t stupid
“He wants me to stay out of it.”
“He wants you to stay safe.” you looked up at Mingyu after he said it
"I can take care of myself just fine." you bluff rolling your eyes
Mingyu just raises an eyebrow at you through the rearview mirror
"Does hiring the mob sound super safe to you?" you ask him in response to his eyebrow raise
“We take our jobs really seriously, Miss, you don’t have to worry.” Mingyu supplements
“Said the freaking mafia to the drug dealer’s daughter…” you mutter
he chuckles again
“Yes, the situation isn’t ideal, Miss.”
“Just call me y/n, Mingyu-ssi.”
"Then just call me Mingyu, y/n."
as he drives along the back roads he glances at you from the rearview mirror
“Pay attention to the road Mingyu, the last thing we need is a car crash. Are you staring because I’m pretty?” You say jokingly, not really expecting a response as you try lightening the mood but also calm your own anxious nerves down
“And if I am?" He flashes a grin at you one more time from the rearview mirror before staring straight ahead at the road again
you blush and shut right up, shaking your head to clear your jumbled thoughts
the short car ride ends when you both reach a hotel
it's a pretty fancy hotel
one with full-on suites
“My orders were to wait here and protect you for a few days while the others figure out how to get you and your father resettled in a safe place. Then we’ll rendezvous with them at the warehouse.”
“We’re staying at this hotel?”
“Well I think it’s better than bleeding out in some alley somewhere.” He laughs while you shoot him a glare
“It’s just kind of fancy for a drug dealer’s daughter don’t you think?”
“Hey, the mafia is nothing if not fancy.”
he smiles brightly throwing you off
he could honestly pass for some college kid now that you get a chance to look at him, he can't be much older than you are
and he definitely does not look like a tall intimidating man who could kill you
he grabs your hand pulling you into the lobby
“What the heck-” you start trying to get him to let go while he drags you across the beautiful foyer
“I’m here to check in.” he says pleasantly
smiling warmly at the lady behind the desk
you see her get flustered at Mingyu’s good looks bc of course and stammer asking him what his name was
“It’s under Mr. and Mrs. Kim.”
EXCUSE ME?!?!?
sure a newlywed couple sounded like a good cover story but ?!?!?!
you're about to chop off Mingyu’s arm tbh mafia or no mafia when he pulls on your hand tighter causing you to yelp
“Isn’t that right Mrs. Kim?” smirking a bit before raising an eyebrow at you warning you silently ‘I think you should play along or bad things will happen…’
“Right,” you mutter before giving the hotel lady a fake smile and turning away to secretly plot your revenge on Mingyu, the giant, somehow
when he gets the room key he pulls you to an elevator and clicks the button for the 17th floor
When the elevator doors close he finally releases your hand and slides quietly to the other side of the elevator
a small smile on his face that you absolutely notice
you frown at the sudden feeling of absence of his hand holding yours
God pull yourself together y/n lol
the day’s events finally start catching up to you while you wait for the elevator to bring you to your destination
when the elevator doors open you rush out into the hallway feeling a bit claustrophobic in that cramped elevator with Mingyu and his stupid small smile and his cute eyes andwifkekrjqfkwjfnwj
hugging your backpack tighter, you start walking down the hallway when
“Miss y/n, the room’s the other way.”
blushing at your mistake
“I thought I said you could just call me y/n, I don’t need the ‘miss’ part!”
you walk back towards him, flustered, when your foot catches the edge of the carpet
and you trip
right into Mingyu’s arms
he catches you in his arms before you fall on your face
his face breaking into a smile
“Nice walking skills you got there.”
you smack his arms as he helps you up
Mingyu shaking his head and still chuckling lightly
he presses the room key to the handle and when you both walk in
a living room area, a half kitchen, and a huge fluffy bed laid out in the interior
“It’s so beautiful!” you stare in awe
gotta be one of the nicest places ever
being in the mafia must have its perks
you stare out the window
metropolitan smog aside
you could see a lot of the city’s skyline
the harsh outlines of the skyscrapers contrasting with the soft clouds in the sky
you set your backpack down on the sofa and take a few minutes just soaking in how extravagant it all was
"Guess you chose the right line of business huh?" you joke looking back at Mingyu
"It's alright." he laughs sitting down on a seat in the dining room
“Wait….We aren’t sharing a bed are we?!?!?” you say eyes widening
Mingyu bursts out into laughter making you jump
"No, mafia don't sleep, y/n." he says shaking his head, "Plus there's an adjoining room." pointing at a door
"Oh, but still humans need sleep." you counter walking over to inspect the kitchen
you're taken by surprise when Mingyu walks right up to you
you instinctually move backwards until your back hits the kitchen counter
and he still stands over you staring into your eyes
"Are we really human?" he smirks eyebrow raised questioningly
"I'm not going to answer that." you say holding your breath but also not backing down as you stare right back into his dark brown eyes
you stand there for a few more seconds, him inches from you, until he breaks the silence, moving backwards a slight smirk still on his face
"Good choice." he gives you a slight bow before saying, “I’ll let you settle in for the night and we can have dinner later. You should sleep, it’s been a stressful day.”
and before you say anything in response
he enters the adjoined room and closes the door softly behind him
you stand frozen in the spot he left you at
your heart beating quickly against your ribcage
your heart doesn't race like this normally
you take a few shaky breaths before you move again
the hotel provides coffee and popcorn
basically the two basic things necessary for a balanced diet
so you plop onto the couch
turning on the tv while your popcorn went pop-pop-popping in the microwave and the smell of coffee filled the living room
once it's done, you grab the bag from the microwave and a blanket from the bed and settle in for an old rerun of a movie
you weren’t sure when exactly but you fall asleep in the middle of your blanket
when you wake up, you're still by yourself in the hotel room
but on the dinner table is a bowl of ramen
from the gentle steam curling up from it, you can tell it's still a bit hot
a note is written next to it in neat handwriting
'Got a call about something and need to run an errand. Be smart and don't leave the room. Also don't forget to eat. -Mingyu'
you purse your lips
"I'm always making smart decisions excuuuuse me Mr. Mafia." you say aloud to yourself while reading his note
however you sit down and hastily have some ramen
the noodles were perfectly cooked
it was perfect wtf
"Is there anything he can't do?" you shake your head smiling while finishing the food
as you finish up and put the bowl in the sink, you hear a gentle knock on the door
you hesitate
wouldn't Mingyu have the key?
you walk cautiously to the door and peer out the peephole
a man stands there in a hotel uniform pushing a cart of towels
so not thinking much of it you open the door
"Did your room call for more towels, Miss?" the man says to you pointing at the extra towels
"No we didn't." you frown confused, "But thank you."
you're about to close the door
but he puts his hand on the door, holding it open
"You're not very smart, Miss."
he grabs your arm roughly pulling you out of the hotel room where finally you seem to realize what's happening
you struggle trying to hit your attacker
another man stands next to the door and he kicks you sending you sprawling on the ground gasping for air
"Honestly, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree." the man sniggers
you clutch your side as you feel the throbbing pain from the kick spreading quickly, causing tears to well up in your eyes
"We ain't stupid sweetie, it ain't hard to track a girl with security footage in this part of town."
he yanks you up by your arm
the pain is really getting to you now as little black spots appear in your vision
"Take her to the boss, we can get back our money from the old man now and then kill 'em both."
he pulls out a zip tie and bounds it tight around your wirsts
the two drag you through to the service stairs as you descend down
from the pain, you gather that you might have bruises for weeks
and honestly that's hella shitty
it made you more mad than scared
you weren't one for always being scared in tough situations
goes with being in the drug business
bless your father's soul for signing you up for self-defense classes
because you feel one of the man's hold on you release as he reaches for his phone to probably report back
the other not holding on as tightly thinking you must be in too much pain to fight back
and you aim one beautiful kick directly into the man's crotch
causing him to howl in pain
yea, criminal or no, you'd think henchmen would be smarter by now
you feel his grasp release as he tumbles down the stairs
adrenaline coursing through you, you leap the last few steps yourself
hands still tied together
and run
run like your life depends on it
because it does
out the nearest exit you can find
when you run into the door and burst out into sunlight
you realize you're in the back entrance to the hotel
no place to hide
the cursing of the henchmen behind you getting closer
your instincts take over as you run
making it easy to cross over the obstacles in your path as you search for somewhere, anywhere to hide
settling for some cars you leap over the hood of one and hide
hands still bound by this annoying zip tie
"Search the area, she can't have gotten very far!" you hear
you try to catch your breath as you hear them nearing
there's nowhere else to go now
you hold your breath as you see their legs appear from your hiding spot
circling the cars near you
'Well, if I die today, I can take comfort in the fact that one of you can't have children anymore' you think to yourself
and your eyes widen as their faces appear behind the car you're hiding behind
"Why hello there, Miss, are you lost?" he pulls on your hair forcing you out of your hiding spot
you close your eyes
tears forming again from the stinging pain
when you hear a loud crack
and suddenly he lets go of your hair
another loud sound
and you open your eyes
and there's Mingyu
the henchmen unconscious at his feet
"Y/n, are you ok?"
you don't answer him
maybe you died
maybe they killed you dead and right now you're just imagining Mingyu in front of you
"I'm really sorry, I should have been more careful, y/n, I shouldn't have left, I came running as soon as I realized they could have tracked us,,, I had been way too distracted-"
he pulls you into his arms mid-sentence
and just holds you
as finally the events catch up to you
you're not dead
you're alive
because Mingyu found you
the tears finally start falling as he brushes your hair back
apologizing over and over
not letting you go
saying everything is ok now
you don't notice when a car pulls up behind the two of you as Mingyu gently leads you to sit in it with him
he doesn't let go for quite a while
"Y/n, you're safe now, I'm sorry. I'm glad you're safe and I promise, you're never going to get hurt again."
the car ride continues in silence
as he holds you in his arms
and as you try to disappear into his hold
where it feels safe
the zip tie is cut off your hands
and you watch as Mingyu stares at the red skin that got cut by the zip tie
he opens a panel in the car revealing some bandaids as he puts it over your wrist
the car ride stops in front of a warehouse
where Mingyu helps you out of the car and in through a side entrance guarded by several men
and inside is your dad
your tears renew as you see him and you run up to him crying
happy to be safe and back together
it's a few months later that you see Mingyu again
after your father and you settle in a new part of town
under new names
in a nice house
though you definitely had to spring for those bullet-proof windows
and you didn't really know how
but you get dragged back into the drug business
guess you're attracted to the lifestyle
nothing is more exciting then dealing with the devil, you suppose
you steadily want to build an empire around you
and make yourself untouchable
clients line up and the money rolls in
it's fun
you're at a bar one night not particularly there for any reason but to let loose a little and have a drink
your hired guards stand on the edges of the dance floor
gazing lazily in your direction
you're wearing a black dress and casually sipping some wine
surveying the scene before you as you take a sip
red lipstick staining the glass
you feel someone sit next to you
a tall figure settling into the seat next to you
Mingyu looks at you with a dark smile
"It's been a while." he smiles
"So it has." you smirk waving off the guards who made a move towards you
"You're quite popular these days in this business, from what I've heard." he says downing his cup of whiskey
"A girl's gotta eat." you say titling your head slyly flashing a grin at him
"Excuse me." you say getting up and walking off to the side hallway where the bathrooms are
Mingyu follows you and you stop as he places an arm on the wall blocking your way
"Have to say, you're not hiding that gun of yours very well under that dress." Mingyu chuckles looking down into your eyes
"Or maybe I'm just trying to send you a message, Mingyu-ssi." you bite your lip smiling back
"Oh? And what's that?" he says taking a step closer to you
"That if I were here to kill you, I would have done it by now."
"Why are you here then, Miss y/n?"
"I don't know, why don't you tell me?"
and then he kisses you
pressing forward, roughly and gently at the same time
your back against the wall
the smell of alcohol between the two of you
his lips soft against yours
as your hands linger against his chest
and his arm steadying himself on the wall as his hand holds your chin
he pulls back
"I guess you're attracted to danger."

wonwoo; days in the sun
Tumblr media
part 1/? of svt!disney au inspired by this thread
feat. beast!Wonwoo x bibliophile!reader (FINALLY WROTE A WONWOO!!)
genre: beauty and the beast au, fluff/romance, slight flangst
word count: 2123
Snow dipped between the crevices of the hand-painted French windowpane, thousands of scintillating diamonds icing against the frosted glass. The snowflakes further out melted instantaneously upon meeting the cobblestone of the castle. She briefly wondered how exactly warm this castle was from the inside, considering from the outside the tower much resembled a memento mori in their iota of a desolate kingdom.
Her nails dragged away with a subconscious slowness from the glass as she backed away from the window, turning her head to her sleeping patient.
The Beast, in all aspects of the title, left kids restless and the elderly quaking like dead leaves in their slippers. These past couple of weeks however, have left her mind spinning like a wind-up music box, surreal and never-ending. The night before, the Beast in his infamous glory, saved her and her horse from a pack of vicious wolves. She was unscathed, however at the expense of the Beast’s shoulder marred to shreds, the matted dusk hair ripped apart to reveal tender pink flesh. The skin healed at a magically impressive rate thank goodness, but the raw skin appeared with a heart-breaking familiarity, the way a newborn human’s complexion would appear from the womb, full of life and hope.
It’s his fault she reasoned to herself, it’s his fault he’s injured. He shouldn’t have tried to save me when I was trying to run away from him!
But if it wasn’t for him, she’d probably wouldn’t be alive to complain at this very moment. With a torn huff she plopped in the small stool next to his bedside, fiddling with the hem of her pale azure skirt. Holding a palm to cover the sunlight that was blinding her eyes from the window opposite, she recited her favorite novel to keep her occupied.
“It is a truth universally acknowledged—”
“What in high heavens are you doing?”
The once familiar words died like cinders in her throat as she watched the Beast shuffle in the sheets to a fitful awakening. The wooden bed frame creaked and groaned in protest as the Beast attempted to sit himself up.
Flying from her chair, she propped up some pillows and tucked them under his large form, causing the down feather to crush like breadcrumbs under the immense weight. Fetching a glass of water from the nightstand, she pressed the cool glass to his lips until all the liquid was gone. “Are you alright?” she asked, watching him for any signs of pain.
“I’m fine,” he replied, his gravely voice echoing throughout the large bedroom. “But you still didn’t answer my question. What are you doing?”
Furrowing her brows together she replied pointedly, “I was trying to orate a passage from my favorite novel when you so rudely interrupted me.”
He scoffed, the low growl haunting her form in ways that the people of her town would never be able to define. “Good thing I did.”
Liquid fire burned in her eyes, more than ready to defend herself in the only activity which kept her sane: literature. “Excuse you, If you knew anything about a good book you wouldn’t dare insult the first lines of Austen’s greatest work! It is a truth universally acknowledged—”
“That a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife.” he drolled with an eyeroll, throwing the sheets off his form. “However little known the feelings and blah blah blah.”
She couldn’t even process the that he was treating her favorite novel like a piece of moldy cheese, due to the sheer fact that he had memorized the same lines she used to spend hours aching over. Her anger melted away in an instant, excited tingles shivering up her spine at the fact that finally there was someone to talk about Pride and Prejudice to. “Wait, you’ve read Jane Austen?” she asked, her lips parted in awe.
If the Beast could smirk, he didn’t show the small smugness that wormed to his form as he faced the window. He had her attention. “More of had her novels shoved into my brain a couple eons over. Sense and Sensibility was particularly difficult to swallow.” he noted bitterly, getting into a standing position. She was about to hold him steady when he wobbled on his hinds, but he held up a paw to stop her. “I’m fine. But you look a little disturbed, are your worried that I’m challenging your intellect?”
Her mouth parted in surprise, “Are you trying to tease me?” she asked incredulously.
The Beast shrugged half-heartedly in response, motioning for her to follow him.
Instead of following his tracks, she made it a show to walk side-by-side. It was particularly enerving, because his strides were terribly long and she was terribly small in comparison to his form. But she made sure to take note that this room was indeed too large as they walked farther from the canopy bed, almost a quarter of this castle’s East Wing, and it made her subconsciously calculate exactly how mad he had gone all these years living in such a lonely castle.
Her eyes trained on the door that was in the innermost side of the bedroom, away from the room’s main entrance. It was a beautifully painted door, with carved silver bands intertwined between the edges and emeralds lining the knobs. The Beast took no cause to her intent staring and pushed the door with a deliberate slowness. It creaked from lack of use, but nevertheless opened, the light letting in like a fond friend.
The Beast moved aside, nodding his head to let her enter first. It was common courtesy to let a the lady inside first, but a little part of him regretted that lesson as soon as he heard her gasp echo throughout the room. It was like her air had filled into his heart and made it as whole as it could possibly be, he wished he could have seen her reaction.
The castle library. Her fingers that were once ruffled between her apron were now openly fussing against her sides, itching to hold a novel. But there were tens, hundreds, no thousands! There were ladders that spanned three tiers of shelves, the white French windows were letting in light like a beacon as they reflected over the lacquered wood and gold-trimmed spines.
“Are you alright?” the Beast asked, his chest feeling lighter as her face lit up through every facet of the book-lined walls. “You look, overwhelmed.”
She snapped her head to his, biting her lip. “I’m, fine. I’m quite fine, actually.” she managed to blurt out, her voice strained with excitement.
“Then why aren’t you picking something out?”
“I don’t even know where to start.” she couldn’t help but gush, turning away to spin across the atrium of the library.
“Well, you can start with the basics.” and he bounded over to the first shelf in the line, pulling out a novel and pressing it to her eager arms.
Her brows quirked in surprise. “This, is a romance.” she remarked, hiding her grin by holding the play up to her lips.
If it were possible, he’d be blushing profusely. “It’s a tragedy.” he replied pointedly.
“It’s Romeo and Juliet.”
“Exactly.” he said, pulling out two more novels and placing it on the nearby desk. “Rushed relationships and suicide are definitely tragic.”
“I didn’t peg you as a romance lover.”
“I didn’t think you’d peg me to be much of anything to you.”
The playful retort stuck in her throat as she watched him turn away in shame, fussing over the books and removing the layers of dust with puffs of air. Her curiously ached to be fed, and she settled with a question. “Have you really read all these books?” she asked quietly, so quiet as if the echoes in her voice could dampen the sheer perfection of the library.
“More times than you can imagine.” he placed two more books on the desk, looked down at her petite form. “If you like this place so much, it’s yours.” and if his large teeth could allow the small smile that wormed its way onto his mouth, it was there.
This room was like a new side to the Beast that she could have never imagined. And he said it was hers! Her eyes widened in shock, the grip on the novel white-tight. “Mine?” she whispered airily, unable to find her voice.
“Yes, and if you’ll excuse me,” he coughed awkwardly, turning on his heel. “I must get some rest. Feel free to explore the room, and there’s—”
“Thank you, Wonwoo.”
His pupils dilated, not that he knew the nature of his eyes would indicate any sign of him feeling more than the despondent emotions of sadness and anger. This was far more overwhelming, far more confusing than any other feeling he had ever experienced in all his years. “You’re welcome.” he murmured, straightening his back.
“I’ll see you at dinner, Wonwoo.” she said it again, said his name. She said it so easily, and treated it like the sweetest of honeys. No Prince Jeon Wonwoo or any other silly title his blood had to account for, but simply Wonwoo.
He could only manage a nod of his head and turned around before he could ask to stay with her. This was more than enough for now, more than he could have ever asked for. He let the door open a crack, and waited. In a matter of seconds, he had to fight the chuckle that wanted to bubble as he heard her excited squeal echo throughout the library.
From the other side, she felt like a little kid in a patisserie, free to pick the confection her choosing. She stumbled like a newborn over the thousands of books in hundreds of languages, smiling so much it hurt. It wasn’t until she got to the very back of the library (which was a feat in itself) she had to stop because her feet were starting to ache. Digging her toes in the hardwood, her eyes gravitated to the only part of the library that wasn’t covered in books. Instead, they were filled with portraits.
It was a wonder of fate that she was eye-to-eye with the single portrait of Jeon Wonwoo. The painting was almost too regular next to the broad family pictures that spanned the brittle walls, but nevertheless stood out to her like she was already meant to know what he looked like before all of this ever occurred. Her hands rested on the cherry dyed table that separated her from the portrait, and she had to lean her face centimeters from the picture to get a good focus on his image.
Wonwoo was conventionally handsome in another life. Dressed in stiff sleeves that were too puffy and pants in an incredibly tight and outdated fashion, the corner of the portrait was signed a number of years ago and lended to the time this portrait was conceived. If she closed her eyes, she could imagine Wonwoo reading these books in the nooks and crannies of the shelves. The ebony hue of his bangs falling over his face, his liquid oakwood eyes filled with innocence and a drive to learn boring into the pages until he fell asleep slumped against the desks. Today, she saw this version of Wonwoo. The handsome look that took over his features when he pulled out his favorite books, and the enjoyment he got out of sharing his favorites to someone who’d appreciate reading as much as he did.
She didn’t realize the mantle clock hiding between the yellowed papers of the desk until it popped out like a little firecracker, dancing in her line of view and blocking the portrait. She squeaked in surprise, clutching her chest.
“Soonyoung!” she cried, mentally willing for her cheeks to cool down. “Were you here all this time?”
The little clock scratched jumped in agreement. “Yeah. So, dinner?” it teased excitingly, little wooden pads dancing against the desk.
Her blush only got to a rapid-fire warmth at the realization he was watching her openly staring at Wonwoo’s portrait, and overheard their conversation. “It’s just dinner.” she huffed, smacking him none-too-gently with the copy of Romeo and Juliet. She couldn’t help the mischievous smirk when its hands spun in circles, until falling back in the stationary place of 10:10. That’s the consequences of eavesdropping. “Now, if you’d excuse me I have some reading to do.”
The enchanted clock watched in awe as he watched the castle’s belle ami saunter away into the sunlit area of the library, with a little more pep in her step than the way she walked away from them last night. “A little more than just dinner.” he proudly declared to himself, puffing out his clock face. With a nod towards Prince Wonwoo’s portrait, he hobbled off the counter with the intent to tell the others of what wondrous events have just occurred in their Prince’s time of healing.
More than books, more than dinner, in fact there may have been something there that wasn’t there before.

“Hey Boo!” Seungkwan whipped his head to find you running up to him. “YN? What are you doing here? You’re supposed to be in class,” You leaned forward, your hand resting on your knee as you panted for air. “You good? That was barely a run,” standing back up straight, you looked at your best friend dead in the eye.
“You have to be free this coming break.”
You and Seungkwan have been best friends since he moved next door when you were in middle school. You both walked to school together, ate food at the convenience store together, and went to school dances together, of course platonically, for him at least.
No surprise, you are totally infatuated with the man that is Boo Seungkwan, which brings you here, standing in front of him, with Chan and Vernon behind him, concerned looks on their facial features.
“I think I am, why?” Grinning, you lifted your head a little higher, a proud smile on your face and turned around, your back facing him, “you might wanna speak to your mom Boo, she has some important news for you.”
You walked away from him, going to your final class of the day, excitement bubbling in your chest as you thought about what’s in store for Boo Seungkwan
~
The next morning, you were woken up at 5am to Seungkwan banging at your front door. You opened the door, glaring at the man who had a backpack and suitcase, “Seungkwan, I know you’re excited, but our flight isn’t until 11, so please, let me sleep!” he walked past you and into your living room, “How the hell are you not excited? We’re going to New York!” He began to sing Empire State of Mind as you crashed onto the sofa.
“YN, what are you doing? You should get ready! It’s a long flight but a big day!” You groaned into the pillow, tuning out his loud voice.
He looked at your slumped form on the couch and grabbed a cushion, hitting your back with it repeatedly. “Get! Up! You can sleep on the plane!” You sat up, snatching the pillow away from him. “As I said before, It is 5am. Our flight is at 11! Either you let me sleep or I will rip up your ticket.” He pouted and slumped down on the couch, turning on the TV.
“I’m waking you up at 7,” “Thank you.”
~
“YN,” the sound of your mom’s voice filled your ears as you slowly opened your eyes. You looked at Seungkwan who was fast asleep next to you and shot up, checking the time on the clock.
“Sweetie don’t worry, it’s only 7:15, you have time to get ready.” You nodded and kissed your mom’s cheek, thanking her, and went to your room.
As you got ready, you pictured Seungkwan’s reaction to the gift you got him. It wasn’t his birthday or anything, you just felt that he needed an appreciation gift. You haven’t been able to spend as much time with him because you’ve been working extra hours just so you could save up for this trip. But of course, he’s noticed your lack of activities spent with him, causing him to think that he hasn’t been a good friend. What a perfect way to show him how important he is to you.
You finished getting ready and brought your suitcase and backpack to the living room, Seungkwan laying sprawled out on the couch, still out like a light. Your mom came into the room from the kitchen with a tray of snacks for you both to eat for breakfast.
“Seungkwan, wake up,” you shook his shoulder as he opened his eyes and processed his surroundings. He yawned and stretched, looking at the food that was on the table, digging in.
“You didn’t wake me up at 7,” he looked up at you with wide eyes, and then focused on the clock that was behind you, “holy crap it’s 7:45.” You laughed and ate some strawberries, “My mom is gonna drop us off so we’re probably gonna leave soon.”
On cue, your mom emerged from her room, dressed and ready to go, “alright, let's get going. You both have everything? Passport? Plane ticket?” The two of you nodded your head, “Okay then, let’s go.”
~
You yawned as the two of you retrieved your suitcases from the cab driver. “Thank you Sir, have a good rest of your night.” Turning to Seungkwan, you smiled as he looked around the area, “You like it?” He looked down at you, “It’s more enjoyable because I know it’s going to be easier to get around. Thank god you speak english.” You laughed and slightly pushed him for teasing you.
“YN, where is the hotel at?” You pointed to the building that was right across the street. “We can settle in for the night, unless you want to go eat something.” He debated for a moment, “No, I ate enough on the plane. Let’s go check in and sleep, we have a lot of touring to do tomorrow.”
You smiled at him as he began to cross the street, both of your suitcases in his hands. You think that this was a good idea, but now, you don’t know how you’re going to contain everything.
~
“Does it look like I’m holding it?” Seungkwan yelled at you as you positioned the camera at an angle so it would look like he had the Statue of Liberty in his palm, “Yeah! Now smile!” He shot you a bright smile, happiness glowing in his eyes as the camera made a clicking noise.
He ran up to you, “How does it look?” You opened up the picture and showed it to him as he smiled and said, “Perfect!” The two of you continued touring the city, exploring places that you have done some research on as well as Seungkwan suggesting places that Vernon’s mom recommended.
You ended up at a small cafe, sitting in a booth by the window. You both ate your muffins in silence as Seungkwan looked back at some of the pictures that were taken. You looked at him and smiled to yourself, thinking about giving him the surprise now. Yeah, going to New York was only part of the surprise.
“Seungkwan?” He hummed, his eyes not leaving the camera but his head moving up to face you. You smiled again, “Seungkwan?” His eyes moved to stare into yours, “You can’t get mad at me for this, and you can’t top this either, but tonight, we’re going to a concert.”
His eyes widened, “Really?? Who’s performing?” You thought about keeping the secret a little longer so you twisted the truth a bit. “Jay-Z.”
~
You entered Madison Square Garden with Seungkwan behind you. “I know that this is a great arena and Jay-Z is cool, but I just don’t really know some of his songs.” After finding your seat, you sat down, “Oh please, you were literally singing Empire State of Mind before we left Korea.” He turned towards you abruptly, “That’s his song? I thought it was Alicia Keys’ song. Oh my god, do you think she’ll guest star tonight?” “Oh, someone will definitely be a guest star tonight.”
As more people fill in the empty seats, the lights begin to dim as people start to stand up. “Oooo yes, Jay-Z in all his glory. I still feel really bad because I only know one song,” laughing, you slightly shoved him, “I’m sure he’ll forgive you. But look, everyone is standing, you learn something new everyday.” ‘What exactly do you learn? That American’s stand during concerts when they have seats that are meant to be sat on?”
Suddenly, an instrumental started playing as the crowd began to cheer. The colorful lights shone the arena as the spotlight flashed onto the performer. “That doesn’t look like Jay-Z,” “Seungkwan be quiet and just look,” He focused on the big screen, the unknown performer still a silhouette until they lifted up their face and presented the audience with a bright smile.
“Holy fuck, that’s Beyoncé. YN! THAT IS BEYONCÉ! YOU TOOK ME TO A BEYONCÉ CONCERT??” Seungkwan began to shake your shoulders as you laughed at his reaction. Crazy in Love boomed in your eardrums, the big smile on his face making your heart swell.
“I can’t believe you got us tickets to watch Beyoncé! God, I could kiss you right now!” Not knowing what he said, he turned back to watch her perform as you lost your breath like you ran a marathon. You grabbed his shoulders and forced him to look at you.
“Do it, or I’ll do it first.” He scanned your eyes, trying to read you before quickly leaning forward and placing his lips onto yours.
He pulled away and smiled, “Finally, and all it took was you taking me to a Beyonce concert.” You both turned your focus back towards the stage as he wrapped his arm around you and pulled you closer. “I basically did all the work, you were the one with no balls.”
You felt his chest rumble as he laughed, “That is true, but now I don’t have to be afraid of telling you that I love you.” You smiled and looked down, hugging him tighter. Halo started playing as you leaned into his embrace so that there was no more space left between the two of you. Swaying to the music, you said, “I love you too.”

soulmate! Jun (pt.2)
Anon requested:  HELLO I REaLLY LOVE YOUR SOULMATE AUS SO CAN I REQUEST A JUN & JEONGHAN PART 2? I LOVE YOUR WRITING SO MUCH OMG ALDJJDKSKS
Genre: fluff
Word Count: 2951
Recap: where your soulmate’s first words are tattooed on your arm (part one)
A/N: AWWW TYSM LOVELY OFC YOU CAN. Jun’s was the first one we did, so both Seri and I love Jun’s soulmate au, it’s our baby, it’s iconic, lol. THANKS FOR REQUESTING AND HOPE YOU ENJOY. (might low key hint about the other part two’s who knows;)
Jun likes to tease you
ever since that rainy night when you finally met him
finally met your soulmate
and everything suddenly fell in place and made sense
he just refuses
to give you back that extra umbrella you gave to him as you spoke the words tattooed on his arm
as often you’re over at the dance studio hanging out with him
or even the occasional times you’re at the dorm just chilling
he never brings up your umbrella, or when he might return it
and that’s fine, you don’t really need it
but he said he’d return it eventually and he hid it for now, which was just driving you crazy
“Jun, this is like the fifth time y/n, has checked the living room for the umbrella.” Minghao says laughing as you turn red and stop your rummaging through the couch cushions
“It’s not that I refuse to give it back- . . . actually no that's exactly what it is” Jun says from the kitchen shooting you a wink
turning even more pink you say
“Wen Junhui, what is your deal with not giving me back my umbrella!?!?”
“It just reminds me of you and how lucky I got that night for having lost rock, paper, scissors.” he says shrugging
which shuts you right up as you stare down at your feet, blushing again
“I’m still here guys, I didn’t need to throw-up my dinner.” Minghao says rolling his eyes
walking out of the kitchen Jun says
“Jealous?” as he wraps an arm around your waist to pull you closer to him
leaving the both of you a giggling mess and blushing like fools
“MINGYU, THEY’RE DOING THAT WEIRD GIGGLNG TOGETHER THING AGAIN!”
Mingyu comes out of the bathroom armed with a broom to shoo you and Jun out of the dorm so you can stop infesting the place with the “love bugs”
as Mingyu calls the two of you
granted, you and Jun have been a couple for a while
he was the first of Svt to meet his soulmate
and wasted no time making it clear to everyone in Seventeen that you two were together
you both were the couple that everyone would have assumed had been dating forever
you might as well have been called that "old married couple"
with your random tickle fights when everyone was trying to enjoy their movie
"Really?!?!? Do the two of you have to do that now?"
"Keep your hands to yourself, guys we get it, you're dating."
"Making skin ship 24/7 is NOT NECESSARY."
going shopping together not only for clothes but for random crap for your apartment or his dorm room
like that vase of fake orchids that now sits on top of your night stand
or this striped dress shirt you called him cute in
you also get asked a lot of relationship questions
since you’ve been dating the longest and you've been around for when all the others found their soulmates
“Do you know where I can get a stuffed animal bunny, y/n?” Joshua asks
“What place has the best flowers?” Vernon asks you
"I want to do something special, what's a good date idea?"
which low key triggers Jun
“Ok, if any of them come to you for advice with how to deal with their soulmates, tell them to get lost because you’re too busy spending time with me and they need to get their own experience.” Jun says playfully with a pout while sitting next to you on the floor against the practice room’s mirrors
“They really shouldn’t ask me, I probably don’t know any better.” you say with a laugh
“Good, once they realize you’re bad at giving relationship advice, they’ll leave you alone that way I can spend more time with the most beautiful person in the whole universe.” he said cutely giving a small nod of his head
"Yah! My advice is solid!" you say playfully smacking his arm
"Is it really?" he says jokingly earning another smack on the arm from you
dates generally end up him ordering coffee from your café
and the two of you walking around taking pictures
you often have Jun model for you
even though you can't post or use any pictures of him
there was something about the way he held himself when posing in front of the camera
that you just had to capture it in all its glory
Jun himself is art
he always convinces you to pose a few times too while he takes pictures
of course the selca master
the two of you take a lot of selcas together, you have a whole folder on your phone dedicated to selcas with him, and you're each other's home screens
"Sorry I can't use you for my lock screen, but the other members would  tease us forever, and I'd rather preserve your sanity."
lately though, all of Svt are really busy with their upcoming concerts and activities
and so you just low key try to stay out of their way
you'll be working at the cafe across the street from their studio and catch yourself staring up at the window where you know they're probably rehearsing
and perfect timing
Jun texts a simple "I miss you"
which nearly makes you spill the Americano you were making to smile down at your phone
before your manager asks what you're smiling at, is making coffee funny all of a sudden?
and not seeing Jun everyday was a bit sad
you haven't been feeling all that well either, though you're not sure if it's the stress of making coffee or trying to maintain your grades
since Jun is often busy rehearsing, you both stay up late face-timing
him telling you cute little stories about the members
and you telling him about your day
even if the both of you are exhausted
you don't mind staying up to talk even if the both of you sometimes fall asleep on the phone
you especially like the story of how they burst into the locked bathroom to wish him a happy birthday
but for a college photography major
you need your sleep
and the late night call sessions weren't helping your health
which is probably how you ended up in bed
with a horrible cold
and your brain pounding against your skull
"I welcome death" you groan taking another painkiller before flopping back onto your sofa bed in front of the TV
since money is tight and you like sleeping in the living room anyway
your bed is the sofa bed that folds outward
you fall asleep watching a drama and wake up to 267 messages
"Yah! Y/n! Your manager told me you took the day off? Are you sick?" Jun's contact picture and messages are the ones that stand out the most amongst others
"Noona, are you ok? Jun-hyung is freaking out."
"Yah, y/n pick up so Jun can stop annoying us all with his worrying."
"DID YOU DIE WHY AREN'T YOU PICKING UP?!?!?"
"I'm really sorry if we're being annoying but please come collect your boyfriend."
the struggles of being a soulmate to one of the members of svt?
all 13 of them will get your phone number, and rip if you don't have a good data plan
you can't help but smile a bit to yourself as you scroll through all your notifications
when an incoming call from Jun lights up your cell
you reeeeeeeaally don't want him to worry, so you start panicking and debating whether to answer
he needs to focus on rehearsing and avoid worrying about you
but you pick up anyway
and hearing his voice was enough to stop the incessant headache thank the lord
"Jun?" curse you and your dead sounding voice, you regret answering and omg he's going to panic so much and
"I'M OUTSIDE YOUR APARTMENT COME OPEN THE DOOR"
"How'd you get here Jun you have rehearsals?!?"
"Your manager said you were sick and so naturally I went to buy you soup, rehearsals ended like ten minutes ago."
"Aw babe, that's nice but HOW DID YOU GET MY ADDRESS?!??"
he chuckles into the phone
"I didn't even ask your manager for it, he says he's seen me before and asked why I wasn't  home taking care of you and why I don't know your address yet even though we're married."
"HE WHAT?"
"He thought we were married." you can hear Jun dying from laughter
"Remind me not to murder my manager, cuz then I wouldn't get paid."
"I mean, I'm ok with him thinking that we're married."
"Yah! Wen Junhui!"
"It's cold hurry open the door!"
you drag yourself up with the five blankets wrapped around your shoulders not caring they drag on the floor to open the door
when you open the door, he stands there thinking you're just the cutest thing ever with your nose red and so many blankets wrapped around you
he's about to hug you
"STOP"
"What why?" he says giving you the cutest little frowny face
"I don't want you to get sick too!"
"I don't care let me take care of you." he pouts cutely, knowing if he acts cute enough he might just get through to you
not toooodaaaaaay
"Wen Junhui we all know you'll cry and blame me for weeks if you so much as sneeze once." you tease him trying to laugh before you sneeze into your elbow
"Ok, yes that might be true, but I went out to buy soup so I have the right to stay."
he looks at you standing barefoot by the door with several blankets wrapped around you, some of it dragging on the floor
holding up the soup, he gives you a cheeky wink
"The soup's hot but I'm hotter."
you groan, rolling your eyes, but smiling as you playfully throw a pillow at his face
"Hey that's violence!"
it misses, Jun's dodge could only be described as elegant
"Hey if I spill soup on the carpet, you have to clean it up not me."
"How is this supposed to make me feel better?" you tease him, sneezing again and settling back down on the sofa bed with your mountain of blankets
"No, clearly I came here to annoy you." he chuckles
you watch as he looks around your kitchen for a bowl
he pours out the soup and sets the steaming bowl at the dinner table
and before you can protest
he picks you up into his arms and carries you over to the table
then he sits down across from you with a smirk on his face noticing the gentle blush creeping up your face
"I know I've been busy lately, so I wanted to do something for you. And aren't boyfriends supposed to take care of their other half when they're sick?" he says hiding his shy smile behind his hand
you sit there, your heart racing from his words
"Hurry and eat! I'm not leaving until you finish."
what a liar
he didn't leave your side at all that night
insisting on carrying you back to bed and snuggling up against you despite your protests he might get sick
you both fell asleep like that
you wrapped around his arms, blankets piled around the two of you
until his phone blasts a loud alarm in the morning
Jun jumps up, almost falling off the sofa bed and you look at the time, before realizing
"JUN WERE YOU HERE ALL NIGHT?!?!"
"I FELL ASLEEP OK?"
"MAN THE OTHERS ARE GOING TO FREAK"
"AT LEAST YOU DON'T LIVE WITH THEM, I'M NEVER GOING TO HEAR THE END OF THIS."
his phone starts buzzing and when he answers the call you can hear people screaming even though Jun's phone isn't on speakers
"WEN JUNHUI I EXPECTED MORE FROM YOU"
"You're not as in innocent as we thought hyung!!!"
"I'll fight you boy, if you did anything to y/n, Junhui."
"WE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING." Jun yells back into the phone while trying not to laugh
you throw another pillow at him
"STOP SMILING IS THIS FUNNY?"
"WAS THAT Y/N PUT HER ON THE PHONE I WANT ANSWERS!"
"I'LL BE BACK IN A BIT!" Jun yells before hanging up and immediately throwing his phone onto the sofa bed
"Ok so on the bright side, doesn't look like they're angry at you, but on the not so bright side I'M DEAD."
"If it makes you feel any better, I don't feel too sick anymore."
"GREAT BUT NOW I FEEL SICK."
Jun laughs and grabs your arm dragging you into a hug
"You can't escape, you have to come explain things to them for me so I can walk around with my head intact pleeeeeeease????"
he wraps you up in his sweatshirt before the two of you head out to go back to the studio
walking into the studio, the both of you grip each other's hands tightly anticipating the worst
"What if they actually kill me, y/n, I've got a lot of things to say to you though." Jun says eyes wide and alert
"So do I Jun, but let's discuss this if we do make it out alive."
you both walk in to the practice room to twelve boys staring into your souls
RIP
an hour of screaming later
though honestly it was mostly them laughing and yelling and poking Jun every once in a while
they let the two of you leave, satisfied with their interrogation
"Jun-hyung, be good while we're gone"
"No anything 19+ in the practice room, we need it for rehearsals."
"Y/n is precious and innocent, if he tries anything, y/n, just give us a call."
"Oh my god just get out!" Jun says flustered and shooing them away
ever since that incident
Jun and you never tell Svt when the two of you are going on a date
"You sure you can't change your number, I'm ok with them not contacting you" Jun says over ramen at the convenience store on the corner looking dead serious
you stir your ramen and laugh
"No unfortunately, some of their soulmates know where I work, I'd never be able to escape."
"Aish, them convincing their soulmates to work on the side of evil."
"They're all really sweet and pretty though, some of us hang out as friends now because of all of you, should we form an idol group too?"
"When would you guys debut?" he laughs
"I was joking, all of us can only take so much Svt craziness you know."
"You love us though."
"True"
"And they're pretty, but you're the prettiest."
"Omo stop Junhui, you'll actually make me laugh."
"Last night, I had to convince Minghao not to tell them I was getting dinner with you because he caught me sneaking out, and now I have to do his laundry for a week."
"Thanks for your noble sacrifice."
"I know right, the things I do for you"
the two of you should be aspiring food critics
you've both been to almost every Chinese restaurant in Seoul
just because you know he likes spicy food
and try everything
him occasionally just staring at you
until you shove more food on his plate to get him to stop
you of course taking pictures of the food to post on SNS
yes, you're that person at restaurants
standing on chairs to get a good shot
with Jun standing behind you, arms ready to catch you if you lose balance
and as the both of you walk back to the studio after a dinner date
it starts raining
and you're silently cursing yourself for not checking the weather forecast when leaving your apartment earlier
but Jun magically pulls out the umbrella you gave him the night you met him and opens it above the both of you
"Oh my god, see, you knew exactly where it was and yet never gave it back."
"Mian, I had to hold onto it."
"Why?"
"It felt like a dream, meeting you. I had to make sure it wasn't a dream, so I kept it as physical proof."
you stop walking and face him as he stops too, still holding the umbrella above the both of you
"That's hecka cheesy." you say grinning
"Yea well, I'm naturally cheesy."
"No, you're cute and sweet and romantic."
"Nah, you're cute."
you both stand staring at each other a little longer, near the dance studio
"Well, I'll give it back tonight."
"Why? Don't need it anymore?"
"Nope, because now I know it wasn't a dream. And every time I need proof, I'll just look for you."
and he lifts your chin up and kisses you softly, the sound of rain pattering around you
it's not cold though, no, the warm feeling from the gentle kiss is enough to keep the cold rainy night's cold away from the both of you
you don't recall how long the both of you stay like that
but when you finally pull away
he gives you a cute smile while tilting his head
and gives you a wink
"OH MY FREAKING GOD FINALLY!"
shocked the two of you turn around to see Svt staring at the two of you from the front doors of the studio
"Children, it's 10 o'clock, way past curfew."
"Mingyu, you owe me ten bucks, I told you he'd kiss her first."
"Man, I really thought she would be the one to do it."
"YAH! YOU'RE ALL DEAD"
"Shi- run!"
and you laugh as Jun and you chase the scattering svt members out into the rain
all thoughts of getting soaked or catching a cold lost in your moment of happiness
