I am a romantic at heart, so I would assume that Riddle’s favourite one would be the long, supple and slippery eel one. It just sounds right. 😌 It’s also probably the most unpredictable because it moves, and Riddle hates unpredictability, so we get a perfect match.

Deuce would definitely join in by accident, and he would probably feel kind of guilty for enjoying the exotic dick so much… maybe because of how much adrenalin and panic he felt when he experienced knotting for the first time, but his body reacts very strongly to Jack now. And experiencing one of the tweels would feel so weird that it would actually fry his brain for a couple of hours…

On the topic of parents, I was asking myself who would be the most likely to raise a kid together in canon in the future, and I think that if Kalim has kids he will definitely rope in Jamil, no matter the kind of relationship they have. Yeah, a baby would absolutely make Floyd fuck off lol Which is ironic, because while I don’t see Riddle as someone who would necessarily do it, he gets pretty unexpectedly unhinged sometimes… I don’t see it, but I don’t not see it if that makes sense. It wouldn’t be a premeditated decision; it’s more like a crime of passion. If he manages to make a baby with magic somehow… the chances are super low, but considering how unstable Floyd can make him, never zero lol

To answer your question properly, I can’t think of many options to be honest, but two characters who came to mind first would be Malleus and Azul. My reasoning for Malleus: lay an egg => demand attention.

And Azul would do anything to tie a person to himself if he needs to; a baby would bring a lot of unnecessary expenses, but if nothing else works, putting a bunch of eggs inside his lover’s body is always an option. Wow, both of them are egg related…

We are talking about the boys here, but I feel like even if Azul was a lady, he wouldn’t want to get pregnant herself. The world would hear the most menacing “I’ve already paid the surrogate, Idia-san” ever.

Ortho could do it in a yandere scenario, I think. Sebek and Kalim are also suuuuper not likely, but somehow more likely than the rest of the boys.

Random question cause I've just seen an event and I'm starting to find idia a bit annoying lol but I do still like him when he makes sense but I wanted to know why YOU didn't like him lol

Okay I give my whole ass disclaimer that I know Idia is a fan favorite and I completely get why. In the words of Hades, I get it. I got it. I got the concept. But I just personally don't vibe with him.

Mostly I think it's because I've known quite a few people with his personality/archetypes in real life who were just absolutely awful, and that colored my opinion a lot. It's a fun concept for a character, very not fun to deal with in real people. Which, tbf, would be the same for pretty much all of the Twist boys. But as a nerd and someone in a very quote-unquote 'intellectual' field of work/education, I have met too many people like this.

But as like, an aside on top of that bias, I can tolerate most traits or flaws in other people, in real life and in fiction. My one, personal, irredeemable, nitpick is hypocrisy. Everyone comes from somewhere different and has different experiences that shape your values and ideals, but the second you start being a hypocrite, you're just proving that it's not the values, it's you being a dick. Idia for a lot of his vignettes etc. is incredibly judgemental of his classmates, while simultaneously lamenting how everyone would judge him for his interests. You don't get to be a dick to people and then be all 'uwu no one likes me' when they call you out on it. Like in the Ghost Bride event! Everyone shows up to save him--intentions entirely good or otherwise--and he spouts off enough ungrateful/mean comments that it turns into all of them basically being like 'fine go die :)' I remember thinking it was the funniest shit, and it was definitely meant to be a comedic moment, but the problem is that he never really recovers from those moments. It's always him being a dick, inevitably getting roasted, and then that's... sort of it.

His one redeeming trait in my opinion is Ortho and his obvious love for him. But like, even that gets tainted a lot of the time. Like in Ortho's vignette for his robes or whatever, he gets so excited to go to the opening ceremony! And when shit goes tits up, Idia just like... refuses to interact with him? To the point that the groovy image is Ortho pressed up against the door just... waiting for him? Ortho would give literally anything for his brother, and yes we're told Idia feels the same, but more often than not he still puts himself first. I'll give my disclaimer that I haven't read Idia's book. I know the gist of what happened to the OG Ortho, but like, I don't have the details. Maybe it gets better. But for the most part, until that book, all I'd really seen was things perpetually working out for Idia whenever he needed it (every event he basically gets what he wants--the new years bags, the wishing star, etc), while never having to deal with the consequences of him being nasty to other people and then just going on to complain more. Which. Ack. It just personally rubs me very much the wrong way.

Again, I completely get his appeal. His character design is absolutely gorgeous and sometimes the guy says some genuinely funny/unhinged shit. My favorite characters have literally tried to kill people and I'm sure drive some people into an absolute rage, so like, no judgment here. He is just very much Not My Vibe. At least, not at the moment. Maybe it will get better in Malleus's book.

Definitely Riddle/Floyd. Never would have crossed my mind tbh but @moorsgrimhilde made a case for it and now I can’t unsee the soulmate potential. They’re a really cute, funny ship that just lives at the back of my mind now. I like calling them Floriddle because it sounds like a fucked up version of Florida and idk that’s just really funny to me, what can I say dajkgjskdgdjk

C - A ship you have never liked and probably never will.

Jamil and Azul. Just nope lmao. There’s definitely something going on from Azul’s side, but I would hesitate to even call that a crush because he’s so clearly business-minded about it all. Even if Azul had seriously caught feelings, I don’t think Jamil could be less interested if he tried lmao.

K - What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc?

This is kind of a “they’re a set, do not separate” situation, so… JAMIL AND KALIM. I’ve been so pleasantly surprised by both the development of their characters as individuals as well as the relationship between them. The Scarabia arc absolutely destroyed me, but god, it was SO important for upturning the figurative log of their relationship to show all the bugs and rot beneath that they just HAVE to confront, they gotta.

With all that ugliness laid bare, I just love to see the genuine effort Kalim makes to be more self-aware of himself and his privilege. I love that he decides to embrace being competitive and earning his laurels, I love that he gives Jamil the space he so desperately needs to breathe while at the same time holding out his hand in an offer of friendship because, after everything, he still sees the best in Jamil and he really wants to make things better. It’s not just something he says, he puts his actions behind it, too.

I love seeing Jamil so bitter and guarded, but slowly, very slowly coming around to the idea of friendship with Kalim as he starts to realize that Kalim didn’t choose his life any more than he did and, yes, his lot in life is better in many regards, but Kalim isn’t the caricature of a person Jamil always looked at him as. There’s loneliness and fear and heavy obligations that Kalim must carry. There’s also deep compassion and generosity in this boy who could very well be as selfish as he likes. The way Jamil’s armor begins to show cracks, the way he finally tells Kalim at the end of the Scalding Sands event that maybe the idea of being friends isn’t so bad actually… *FIST CLENCH* No one’s doing it like them.

L - Say something genuinely nice about a character who isn’t one of your faves.

Man, shout out to Idia because I really didn’t like him at all until the Ignihyde arc dropped. He’s never going to be a fave of mine, but there’s plenty of nice things I could say about him. His character design is gorgeous. I absolutely love his hair, it’s so cool. His backstory with Ortho? Heartbreaking. Hurts so good.

His potential as a villain? AMAZING. I’m not gonna lie, I find him most intriguing in that capacity. I want him as a fully unhinged morally dark gray scientist. I knew it was in vain to want this, but I was so hoping for a mad scientist/lab rats kind of plot with Ignihyde. Apparently I’m just going to have to write the AU I want for myself one day, what else is new djaksgjksdg

V - Which character do you relate to most?

Hmm, I think it’s pretty close between Carlos and Jamil, but I’m going to just focus on Jamil since I’ve spoken about that a lot less on this blog. I relate a lot to Jamil being someone who walks a very thin line between love and hate with one of the most important people in his life. He seems to me haunted by questions like, would I love you if I didn’t have to? Is it okay that you’ve hurt me since you never meant to and you don’t even realize, may never even understand how you’ve done so? Can I ever know my authentic feelings toward you or have we lived too long under the shadow of my obligations toward you? Yeah, things like that djkgjskdgjk.

Also, the way he tries so hard to bottle up his emotions and keep his head down, but there’s so much resentment inside him that threatens to turn destructive and, god, that siren song of giving into it, damn the consequences…

Um. There’s also that he’s canonically terrified of bugs lmao. Relatable content.

Chapter 42 review

It's sweet that Kalim is relief about being in top 6 ranks, he really does improve much and hope it doesn't affect him after winter break. His father is an asshole.

I can tell there many reasons why Azul didn't target the second years: to avoid the suspicious from not only the tweels but the rest of the second year cast (except Ruggie, Jamil, and Azul, all of them are in the impending doom) and for Kalim to be in top 10 ranks not only for the contracts but secretly cared about him.

Man the tweels are getting more unhinged that I like the angst especially Floyd hitting the wall with blood. Poor Ace, it's bad enough he got hurt by Floyd but by Jade. I know he screw up but he doesn't deserve that kind of treatment especially being force to not reveal it to the point he hurt his face. Jade being scarier than his brother especially when he is the crazy twin(sometimes your afraid of the silent ones who gets angry than the one who often does).

Thank 7⃣ that Lilia, Jack, and Sebek stop the Tweels. This is too much for Ace to handle this

I can tell that Riddle will yell at Floyd and Jade for doing this to Ace at the next chapter which caused trouble in their relationship during chapter 3.

Oh Idia named the cat Premo, it means first when searching the meaning of the name. I guess he is the first cat to be named. Interesting that Ortho try to refuse him to have a cat and only accept to get out more. I kinda wish that Ortho sees the USB drive of his fanfic.

Jamil and Ruggie still being backstabbing friends they are but at least Jamil still cares about Ruggie's wellbeing. Can't wait for him to interact to the other idiot trio.

Seeing Azul doing his dramatic pose but this time, he is more alone and unhinged. Like after he thinks that Tweels left him, he figures he rather do this alone than with them.

Yuu scolding the idiot trio is something they need to do learn. Like Yuu doesn't care about being the best, he just wanted to pass. But because of their insults that he felt what is something wrong with him. Interesting that Epel help Yuu out, someone who is the same wavelength as the idiot trio but is more behave. Yuu's anger is scary since he doesn't often be angry like that, just like with Jade.

So I wonder how Epel and Ortho are gonna interact Yuu and the group to join in for chapter 4?

Trein is a great guardian like he could of just not be in his life often but he does and even care about him in need. He really is the best staff out of the rest. (I ranked Crowley last XD). Glad Trein is okay from his injury, I'm sure Yuu visit him during his care in need.

You know how crows or ravens died after flying? Well the bird itself is here to deliver the worst news.

I can't wait who will get poison, can you at least give us another hint? Like is he part of the students, impending doom, first years, or staff?

I'm glad you liked this chapter! You guessed right about Azul's motive to avoid the second years in his scheme! If it hadn't been for the fact that he was trying to avoid suspicions he would have just lowered the efficacy of his guides but I don't think his pride would have handled it well. Besides it was safer for Kalim that way, he do care about him and does think the Asim patriarch is an asshole.

The angst was pretty good, I got chills writing it! As for Ace his sufferings serve a higher purpose that will pan out in his books that I had totally planned from the beginning (they say, like a liar)!

Premo is actually named after Idia's favorite band : Prescipices Moraï or as the fans calls them : Premo. It's mentioned in his dorm vignette, btw I love how unhinged his expression is in the groovy of that card.

Ortho actually just went with their parents plan to extort some sunlight time out of him. He knew that Idia would end up with the cat either way but hey, it was still worth a shot and it paid off so....

Even Jamil still has someone in his corner while Azul stands alone against the world and at his point just want to (figuratively) watch it burn.

They weren't expecting the chewing out, but not only did they stressed him out and accidentally brought him down lower than dirt but they scared him half to death with that kidnapping stint. He's angrier at Adeuce than Grim because they were suppose to know better than a cat demon who never interacted with human society before. Hence the new nicknames : Perceval (Deuce) and Karadoc (Ace), it's a little Easter egg to Kaamelott, a show that I referenced before and in which the knights Perceval and Karadoc are infamous for their stupid antics amongst which using vegetables as martial arts weapons, taking the guards on patrol drinking at the tavern and so many others. So this is far from being a compliment but I guess the context gave that away.

(Translation (not word for word) : Riddle : Wait. Just a moment, I wanted to tell you something. Uh... I often scream at you two, I'll admit, I'm a bit harsh and all, but, for someone like me who is prone to depression, what you're doing is especially important.

Deuce : Really?

Riddle : Because, I don't how to tell you this... It's systematically stupid, but it's always unexpected! And that, it's really important for my sanity.)

So yeah, I think I just made my point. God I could make an entire series of Twst incorrect quotes with things pulled from Kaamelott.

Epel and Ortho will come into the fold slowly but surely don't worry! But they're going to have some, impressions following Book 3.

We don't deserve Trein. He's good at his job, had put up with Crowley the longest, he's a role model, tried to protect his students and hasn't hunted us down for sports yet. And he brings his cat to class. A true national treasure.

Speaking of Crowley, he's really a bird of bad omen. I can't wait until we get his vignette story!!!

Okay I'll give you one last clue. But I'm not going to make it easy, if you want a clue as to who Azul is going to poison then let me encourage you to watch Death in Paradise season 7 episode 4 : The healer. I think it may be of interest to you. But, if it's not enough or that you can't find the show...
