okay picture this. tutor!dick grayson, he wears glasses, and is insanely pretty which makes it hard to concentrate on what he's saying
“Y/n? Did you understand what I just said?” the sweet voice of your tutor broke you from your trance.
Resting your cheek in your hands, you were too immersed in his beauty to pay any attention to his words. Lulled by his voice, singing out concepts you struggled to understand, but that you could spend hours listening to if it was him saying them.
Too enchanted with the way his bright blue eyes seemed to sparkle behind his glasses over how excited he’d get whenever he told you of a great discovery, or a rule, or formula, or whatever he found interesting. Too focused on the many times he’d pushed his glasses back up his nose or how he would lick his plump pink lips every few seconds,
Said lips that looked so appealing, so soft, that you couldn’t help but daydream about them running up and down your skin, while he desperately tried to teach you something. Anything..
“Uh-hum.” you lied, trying to recompose yourself by grabbing your pen and trying to write something down, but only coming up with “hot veins'' as his uniform, one that didn’t look good on anyone else but him, had it’s sleeves rolled up, exposing just enough skin in his forearms to make you go feral.
You tried to pay attention, but he didn’t give you any help.
You were upset when your teacher called you one day and told you’d need tutoring to improve your grade, as you were at deep risk of failing his subject. But when he told you Dick Grayson was the one responsible for your tutoring, getting to see you twice a week after class, you swore you’d turn into his most dedicated student..
Fixing his glasses on his nose once more, he let out a deep sight, rubbing the bridge of his nose out of frustration.
“I’m sorry.” you apologized, truly feeling sad and embarrassed at the fact he clearly noticed you weren’t getting anything. “It’s just… I just can’t get chemistry into my head.”
You weren’t lying, you truly couldn’t. And that frustrated you to no ends, making you cry many nights to sleep over your own stupidity. And now, to know that your crush knew how fucking dumb you are, just made you want to hide away.
With another deep sight, Dick took off his glasses, placing them beside him on the desk, and fixed his eyes on yours, so deep you needed some time to process.
“We’ll get it.” he assured you, holding your hand in his and interlacing your fingers together. The gesture making you freeze at the spot. Thne, he kissed the back of your hand and kept caressing it with his thumb. You weren’t able to form any coherent thought in your head, heart pounding hard in your chest. “You just need to pay a little more attention to what your tutor says.” he gave you a playful wink. “I swear I can’t make you understand it in one second, you just gonna need a bit of focus okay?”
You simply shook your head, still incredulous, and probably red from head to toe.
“The quicker we’re done here, the quicker we can do something else.” and you swear you'd never focus so hard as you did that day.

something so insane about Adam saying “it wasn’t about you” to Gansey at the end of TRB and then again during the fight in TDT (defensively, angrily when he’s in a spiral of self sabotage) because there’s truth to it but it’s not True. Adam is always always always defining himself in relation to Gansey and yes he resents that but that still makes it About them. The fact that Adam had a dream about being responsible for Gansey’s death and That was the trigger for his decision to wake the ley line, to prevent that future. And to be his own person outside of Gansey while also not hurting/killing Gansey, but then at the same time he brings the gun with him not knowing what he’ll sacrifice but knowing for sure it can not be Gansey. That means it could be Whelk or it could be him (and it is both in a way) and either way he is sacrificing a part of himself for Gansey. And then when Adam does sacrifice a part of his autonomy to Cabeswater Gansey feels betrayed because he sees it as Adam’s sacrifice because belonging to anything else is better than accepting what Gansey tries to offer him but it is For and About Gansey that he did this and Adam Hates that. And then (I just started rereading TRK so I don’t remember the exact details) Cabeswater being in Gansey’s service or having his spirit or however that works makes it even more insane and that definitely adds to the context of Adam’s anger at him in TDT but I’ll come back to that part later just. You love your best friend so much and you hate your best friend so much and it’s not about them but everything is about them!
