okay so my go-to recipe for chocolate chip cookies that I don’t usually share I’ll share with you all because I love ya

chocolate chip cookies

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon of cinnamon (I don’t really measure this I just add how much I think I need)

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg (again I don’t measure this lol)

1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened

3/4 cup granulated sugar

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 large eggs

2 cups chocolate chips

Half of the packet of Heath bar toffee bits

mix all the dry ingredients together (flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg). Mix wet ingredients together (butter, brown sugar, white sugar). Add in the eggs one at a time and beat them in one at a time. Slowly add in the dry ingredients. Then add chocolate chips (I usually add in white chocolate and milk chocolate chips) and the Heath bar bits packet (or any baking toffee bits).

ball the cookies — I use one inch cookie scoop because I like my cookies small but a tablespoon also works! Press chocolate chips into the top so the cookies will have chocolate chips on top (more aesthetic lol). Refrigerate your dough for an hour (this is optional but I find it helps).

pre-heat oven to 350 degrees (Fahrenheit idk what the Celsius equivalent is). Space out cookies on cookie sheet and bake for 9-12 minutes (depending on whether you refrigerate the cookies or not).

this makes a loooot of cookies lol so feel free to reduce the recipe 💕 I always get rave reviews on these cookies. I would say they are not super super sweet (which I prefer) so add in more chocolate if you want them sweeter.

Yeah, I mean it wouldn't be fair to the (probably very small but also probably still existent) group of people who either like Home or just wonder what it would be like. okay. its actually over. it feels weird to say but i have indeed completed homestuck yet again. this time was maybe my favorite reading of it other than probably the first time. maybe it was cause of the blogging it? i did genuinely love blogging my thoughts about it. even if no one is paying too much attention, its cool to get it out there :D

overall thoughts? the first part is a little slow to get going, but once it does get going, it's so fun and just a blast to read. things are incredible up until right after cascade where it slows down a lot. which i get. introducing a ton of new characters and essentially a new main villain into the plot can be a lot. i would say that the first half of act 6 is like... a definite decrease in quality? but it starts picking up again when they actually arrive in the new session. and me personally, ive always loved the ending. i know some people were like oh they just win and their plan goes smoothly. like, yeah i get that, but also things did NOT go smoothly when game over happened, and that was definitely the everything goes wrong moment. everything after that is cool and fun and very entertaining to read. i just love this story guys i love it so much there is a reason why it is my favorite piece of fiction and why i constantly come back to it . it is just so good i love the characters i love the concepts the plot is sprawling and self referential and just plain cool . of course it has flaws, namely its villains are a little weak. sometimes i love villains who are just plain evil but sometimes in a story like this i may have preferred a villain who has a little more motive than just being evil and wanting to destroy and kill things... but its alright. the heroes were the main focus anyway, so its not like it ruins the story or anything. i think homestuck goes from an ironic shit post story that makes you feel like an ass for reading it to a heartfelt tale of empathy and self improvement and self actualization. its characters go from asshole kids to pretty good adults. and you can see the writing grow up too. its honestly great and if you know me you probably already know lots of bits and pieces about it and/or i made you read it. but if you dont you should give it a shot. it has NOT aged well i will say but if you can manage to ignore the usage of slurs and probably other bad things i can honestly say it ends as a story about growth and acceptance of the self and others. that is all.......

I know things might be weird and scary and strange and uncertain right now. I know the future seems this huge, giant, incomprehensible mass of everything bad in the world coming your way at super speed, and the only thing you want is to just sleep and never wake up, because unawareness is the most blissful and least scary thing right now. I know it's so scary and it hurts and everything you've ever dreamed of seems unachievable and seems to be fading away.

But it's okay. It is going to be okay. It is going to be fine. You are going to be fine. Things will be better, things will become bright and warm again. You have all the time in the world, nothing is falling from your grasp - your life, your time, your age, these aren't sand slipping away: these are all you, and you are here right now. There is time to do everything you want, time to rest and relax and gather strength and courage and support, and everything you need and want.

(The happy nihilist within me says - and even if you don't, even if you'll die soon, then that's even better: it's just the thing you were wanting, so might as well make your last hours good ones, doing something that you like, something that makes you happy)
