ID: three drawings showing a sequence of sokka and zuko from avatar the last air bender. Aged up rather soon after war. sokka is leaning over zuko, you see them mainly on the left side waist up. The background is kept plain withe. On the left side the artist signature "chiptrillino . 2023" on the right side isthe request to "please don't repost"
The first drawing shows sokka looking down with slightly zoned out expression. zukos hands are reaching up.
The second image shows sokkas surprised face held between zukos hands, who raised up his face inches away from sokkas.
The third images shows sokka leaning into zuko. Both of them kissing. zuko holds on to sokkas shoulder and neck. Both look happy. End ID
Small shoutout to that person that tagged, once upon a time (last year), the sketch with "mermaid zukka". And would you look at that! Its meremay! And this is not really mermaid themed, but... it remained me to finish it! -sweats-
oh shoot! also happy zukka week! i guess whops...

Reminder that it’s not our place to accept apologies. If kdin accepts them that’s fine but it’s not up to us

I'm not going to say much specifically around the recent allegations surrounding Rooster Teeth, especially what Kdin has said, because I don't think it's my place as a cis person to get up on my high horse and speak for trans people when there are so many more important voices chiming up in this conversation, but I will speak on how this has affected me as a previous RT fan and say that this has been the last straw for me.
I've not consumed a lot of RT content in the last couple years anyway for a multitude of reasons- some of the rumors I heard around how the animation teams in particular were being treated definitely left a sour taste in my mouth- and this recent stuff has pushed the ship headlong into the proverbial iceberg, as it were. And yeah, it fucking sucks. I started watching RT in 2013, I was a first member, I met Gus in 2014, I have multiple pieces of merch etc. They were, for quite some time, a large part of my life, and I definitely felt a sense of community from being a part of that, for a while. And then... something changed. And while I tried to keep up (albeit fueled by a desperate and unhealthy need to keep holding onto something, anything, that reminded me of or linked me to someone who at that stage was no longer in my life in much of any capacity), I think I knew realistically that something just wasn't right anymore. And now I know that my gut instincts were correct. And I'll probably be parting with my old merch shirts and unfollowing a large portion of the staff on social media (I've already started unfollowing company pages as they've popped up). It's going to feel weird, for a while, but fuck it, I'm so sick of hearing about how certain groups of people, minority groups especially, are treated like garbage, either directly by their coworkers or by the community, and no amount of apologies is going to rectify it, because this just proves that past apologies for similar stuff meant jack shit and they don't care.

this whole kdin situation actually makes me feel so sad. not only has rt always been bigoted, but they never want to change, and never want to own up to anything. something that also really rubs me the wrong way is that the employees who commented in the matter only talked about how like “it was a long time ago ive stopped saying those words 🥺” and literally nobody from rt is talking about the systematic worker abuse that was so rampant. how you couldnt go to HR or anyone about your discrimination because of your race or sexuality or gender or anything because they just dont care. how they criminally overworked all the employees, and refused to even pay them. i cant even imagine what other shit theyve been doing that we dont know of yet. i feel ashamed for going to their events, and paying for their merch and for first. we knew they were bad but like fuck it really is rotten to the core. (sorry for the dump hope youre doing well ❤️)

did your transformation into big boob kdin feel more like a digi-evolution or a pokemon evolution?
I mean I assume this is supposed to be a silly question with a silly answer but I want to answer it seriously for all the other trans women out there.
It wasn’t a transformation or evolution or anything, it was just super normal.
It was steady chest growth over a period of years. I took care of myself and did my best to take care of my body, heart, and mind. And eventually I got the chest I got.
Like I know a lot of girls want the magical “bippity boppity BOOBS” to just happen one day at full size but honestly like… it felt good to give myself time, allow HRT to do its thing, and learn and grow with my body as needed.

genuine question but what IS crwby to you people. is it the animators like kim newman who now have debilitating back injuried thanks to poor work conditions? or perhaps some of the hundreds of animators unceremoniously layed off and then silently replaced by freelancers and temp workers because its cheaper? voice actors like kdin or arryn who were severely abused and mistreated and unpaid?
if the answer is yes to any of those questions than supporting rwby and rt does not and will never support crwby.
it's so easy to see it as one person or a handful of people. surely gray, who to many WAS a beloved member of crwby for years lest we forget, was just the problem and now that hes gone things'll get better. except they didn't. people are still unpaid for work they did AFTER he got ousted and abused AFTER he left. there's no special team that makes rwby that gets to sit in a special little room with entirely separate management. the "crwby" concept is identical to the CEO of walmart calling every one of their employees a member of the family. a blatant lie to get people to like them.
rt could put out a video tomorrow confirming blake and yang are a couple and I need you all to come to terms with the fact that blake and yang aren't real but the actual queer people rt is throwing through the meat grinder ARE. and they are the ones getting hurt the most if you decide to prioritize your internet cartoon over making an actual line in the sand. Not even Blake's fucking voice actress is immune from this! And no, boycotting the company will NOT hurt the victims here because they weren't and will not get paid what they're owed or suddenly treated well. your lack of support will not hurt the "good" members of crwby because they can't lose what they already weren't getting.
Your first membership isn't helping crwby.
Your viewership of rwby isn't helping crwby.
Nothing you do to support that show will help anyone actually making it and if you truly cared about crwby in any capacity you'll cut RT out like a growth and hold them responsible for their actions without groveling over the hypothetical good part of RT that doesn't exist.

Hey... new to RWBY, loving everything I've discovered on it thus far but... why are some in the Fandom... unable to be normal about this show? I mean, I know that no fandom is free from toxicity but this is some nuclear fallout with what I can only call a hatedom.
It's got a lot of anime fans who are angry that it isn't following anime tropes
The creator Monty Oum died in between Volumes 2 and 3 and therefore anything they don't like is "tainting Monty's vision" which makes everyone mad.
There was a deconstruction of military sci fi in the Atlas arc which pissed off fans of it. Basically the big bad of that arc was a general whose authoritarian tendencies gradually turned him evil and some bootlickers were mad about that.
In general, men are not prioritized in this show and that pisses off a lot of fans eager to find the "real" main character among one of the men and failing. So there are a lot of fans giving RWBY undue hate for having female main characters or claiming that it's misandrist for having male villains.
The Faunus oppression storyline has really not been handled well and while it's gotten a bit better in recent volumes, it still played into a few too many stereotypes about how violent resistance to violent racism is bad.
The romantic tension between Blake and Yang has drawn in a lot of sapphic fans as well as a lot of homophobes telling us how they're not homophobic they just hate the idea of two women flirting and RT is going woke etc etc.
Rooster Teeth has been exposed as being a very bad place to work. They have been homophobic, transphobic, and racist to many of their employees, have avoided giving workers' comp to injured employees, they underpay their voice actors when they pay them at all (Kdin Jenzen has revealed that she was never compensated for her voice work since it was considered an "addition" to being an employee and Arryn Zech was threatened with recasting when she tried to argue for industry standard pay), and they crunch most of their workers. They have quit crunching their animators so hard after Glassdoor exposed their poor treatment of animators but some departments within it are still struggling (a former rigger said they were crunched for Volume 9 due to an incompetent lead) and Samantha Ireland has said that the person who threatened her with recasting no longer works there, but it's not exactly useful when it seems like they've replaced it with regularly laying off animators so they don't have to give them the promotions or pay raises they promised.
This, as you'd expect, has led to a bit of a split in the RWBY fandom on how to handle that and how to help the employees. Many have switched to pirating the show to avoid giving RT money, many have dropped it outright and refuse to give it any promotion even through fandom, and some have, at the request of the RWBY animators and employees who need renewal for their employment, continued to watch it legally or semi-legally. So there's fighting over what the right thing to do is.
There was a two-year hiatus between Volumes 8 and 9 because of COVID and to avoid animator crunch. Some people are mad about this and believe they should have crunched the animators. They are assholes.

Here are Michael and Gavin's responses to Kdin's post. Gavin's response is listed in black and Michael's in white. IDs under break.
For those of you who haven't seen it here's the link to the TwitLonger or you can find it on her tumblr:
ID for Gavin's response:
Today, Kdin continued an important conversation that I've referred to vaguely in the past and rather than tweet something vague or just attempt to push forward, today I want to stop and take full responsibility for my past behaviour at Rooster Teeth. Firstly, I don't want anything I say here to be construed as an excuse - there simply aren't any excuses for my past behaviour. In the past I certainly played a role in other people's unhappiness with my shit attempts at humor and I look back on these moments with disgust in myself. I'm absolutely shocked by what i used to think could pass as comedy or "just joking around". I used to think that I could say or do offensive things because those around me knew it was beyond absurd that I would actually speak that way - basically the intent was to shock and the content of my character would excuse it - I couldn't have been more wrong and I fully acknowledge how stupid and hurtful that way of think was. Before Kdin bravely came out and transitioned, I did use that horrifically offensive nickname - it didn't matter that I was under the impression that we were all in on a joke - it was hurtful and wrong. Full stop. I would never use that kind of language in any context today, but again, that doesn't excuse my behaviour and I completely acknowledge that. In the years since, I've tried my absolute best to grow as a human being and would never, ever behave in this manner now - again, I'm beyond ashamed when I think back and I am forever grateful to the amazing individuals like Kdin who have shown me more grace than I was ever deserving of as I've worked to put my hurtful behaviour behind me.
ID for Michael's response:
I'll keep this as short as possible. The simple answer is I grew up in a place and time when calling your friends explicit words or slurs was funny. It was just part of modern culture. Primetime tv shows and movies I watched did it and it was always used as comedy. It was a punchline in The Hangover movie and everyone loved it. The f* word was something I would say to anyone without blinking. It was "normal" and in fact there's just simply never a reason at all to say it. I've long since regretted knowing my words hurt Kdin in such an unintended way. I also need to point out that this was years before Kdin transitioned, not that it's any excuse of makes anything less hurtful but it was certainly not said in the context of any form of hate or violence. A few years ago I reached out to Kdin to tell her how sorry I was and how bad I felt and that I never intended it to inflict the harm that I clearly did. Kdin was kind enough to respond when they didn't have to and have a conversation with me. So that's my comment. I definitely used to have a lot of shittier habits and behaviors and I deeply regret that really hurt someone. It was only ever a place of edgelord comedy and pushing buttons but it's not an excuse. I am sorry. I did grow up. I was stupid and lacked empathy and it's something I try to improve on every day because I'm human.

Okay so I was saying this on discord but realized it was perfectly fit for a Tumblr post I wanted to make on this subject so copy pasting...
People really need to finally start treating RT like...well a company
I have been saying for a while it's super freaking weird how people treat CRWBY or just any person involved with RT that they like as 'RT'
Like, people do not do this with any other company, at least not to this extent. No one goes to Matt Braly and the Amphibia crew and treats them as 'Disney'
Is it because of the older days when RT was just some gang of friends? Is it because Disney or other companies has more cases of creators flat out saying they hate the company, making it easier to seperate them? Seriously
But yeah people really need to treat RT like any other company and, also not think that any popular person who works for them is 'The Company' and such
It's what they did with Kdin when she worked for RT and it is what they still do with CRWBY even though some of them are not employees anymore

This whole "crwby" shit really is a double edged sword.
Yeah, from the perspective of a capitalist Corp who only cares about lining their pockets, there's a benefit. Fans will support Ruwuby in the name of supporting "Crwby" when crwby is just a subsection of RT. Supporting "crwby" is supporting RT.
"The animation dept brings in 60% of the revenue or more."
Crwby is part of Roosterteeth's animation dept. Rwby is their biggest title. That 60% of their total revenue is very likely coming from Rwby exclusively.
Crwby is a vague enigma. What or who "crwby" is differs from person to person (or Stan to critic). That can work to Roosterteeth's favour as mentioned above but like I said, it's a double edged sword. You can't transfer Rwby's success anywhere else. They tried with Genlock and it flopped. Hard. Roosterteeth doesn't have the star power they once had. And though they cultivated a passionate fan base that will defend them tooth and nail ( in the guise of supporting crwby) those fans only care about rwby. They have dedicated so much of themselves, so much of their money and time into rwby, some new shiny rwby-clone isn't going to garner that same response and dedication.
Crwby is no Hideo Kojima. Tetsuya Nomura can leave Square Enix and do his own shit and people will flock to check it out. When you think of Kingdom Hearts, you think of Tetsuya Nomura. You think Metal Gear Solid, you think Hideo Kojima. You think Ghibli, you think Hayao Miyazaki. Final Fantasy XIIII fans are gonna check out Final Fantasy XVI cause Yoshi-P was director of both those games. The appeal of Final Fantasy XV was that Nomura was the director. Do you see what I'm getting at?
When you of rwby, you think of Monty, but unfortunately, he's no longer here with us to helm the franchise. Realistically, it should be Kerry but the guy is so...bland (?) and uninspired. Miles is more and less distancing himself from the franchise. The next best thing is crwby, an undefined, ever-changing group of people who work on the show.
How is crwby, this enigma supposed to take rwby back from the evil, big bad Roosterteeth? Kerry and Miles, the closest to a figurehead for rwby, and were there for rwby conceptualisation, are burnt out on rwby. Miles relinquished all responsibility he had. Kerry, just, I don't think he wants to be showrunner anymore, nor enjoys the responsibility he has as writer, producer and director.
Rwby fans are not Miles Luna fans. They are not Kerry fans, Eddy fans, Barbara fans etc etc. They got into Rwby because of the initial appeal of the premise, strong art direction, and fight choreography, but they stayed because Rwby ultimately fuels fandom. There is no passion (from higher up), just pandering to the largest demographic.
Tdlr, because I forgot where I was going with this rant; Roosterteeth is fucked because they can't pivot the success of Rwby towards anything else because their fanbase is obessed with Rwby. Miles, Kerry, Barbara and anyone considered part of "crwby" is fucked because the stans only like rwby because their fanfics are treated as canon and the parasocial relationship they have with the team behind the franchise. They need Rwby, not the other way around. They might be kekeing and enjoying the clout for now but eventually the stans (again, who arent their fans and the extent they care about them doesn't go beyond their involvement with rwby. Case and point - Kdin and everyone else part of crwby or not who spoke out against RT ) are gonna get annoying real quick.

...someone doesn't like roosterteeth
Brother Man....
I need you to come real close. Like Real close.
For Years Rooster Teeth has been doing a lot of horrendous shit behind the scenes. Ranging from Homophobia, Sexual Assault , abuse on employees and animators, Transphobia, underpaid workers.
And when Kdin Jenzen dropped that nuke I knew it was... OVER.
So yes I'm hitting the RT Pack. HARD.

Critter decided to "try something new" (i.e. get people to pay attention to her) by reviewing a different RWBY episode every day this month, starting with the pilot episode back on October 1st. Her review of V2's dance episode has convinced me that she's deranged. Namely, she and many of her followers (such as UoW/Thomas's new boyfriend Maxwell) honestly believe that Jaune wearing a dress to the Beacon dance was "transphobic" instead of the expression of Jaune's loyalty to his team that it was clearly framed as. First of all, Monty came up with that idea, and he worked very closely with Kdin Jenzen, who is trans (are you implying that Monty was transphobic, Critter? Because it sure looks that way). And second, dresses actually used to be a unisex clothing item (for instance, president FDR used to wear one when he was a child). I really hope that she and her followers find something new to attack once RWBY's over, otherwise they'll have no future as content creators.
A. We have no idea how RT was during Monty's time or even that much about Monty himself. We can't assume.
B. Dresses are commonly seen as female gendered clothing, there's nothing to indicate that Jaune's dress is unisex.
C. You don't need to bring that up.
The joke as Critter presents it 'Jaune is wearing women's clothes therefore funny'.
Where in the joke does it target Trans people? Because being trans is a LOT deeper than wanting to wear opposite gender clothes. Critter arguing that the joke is transphobic despite Jaune CLEARLY being a man and seeing himself as such implies Critter thinks that Crossdressers and Trans people are interchangeable.
Which is loads more transphobic. To the point of it being a long running negative stereotype.
Maybe actually THINK next time, Critter. Oh wait, you're a RWBY critic. Thinking to yourself like sunlight to a vampire.
