Watching my Papa and my uncle create things, I started to feel a little left out. So one day, I was playing around with my Cryo abilities without really thinking about it, and before I knew it, there was a little bird made out of snow in front of me! So yeah, I can make ice sculptures!

If it weren’t for my Papa, I probably would’ve been taken out by some explorers by now, with no awareness of the bigger world around me or my real potential. I’m not ashamed to say what I am, but at the same time, I feel like he saved me from being just another whopperflower.

About Albedo (Friendship Level 4)

Uncle Albedo…scared me for a little while, but I understand why he had to hurt me back then. I think he’s being extra gentle with me now as a way of apologizing for that, even though I’ve told him that I forgive him. He’s really hard on himself…

About Klee (Friendship Level 4)

I have a really conflicting reaction to Klee. Her Pyro Vision makes me feel a little sluggish, but my instinct to mimic absorbs her energy and makes me all buzzy on the inside. It’s a weird feeling, but it’s so uniquely Klee, so I don’t mind it.

About Sucrose (Friendship Level 4)

She’s so nice! Sometimes, she gets bones that still have a little too much meat on them, so she lets me clean them off for her.

About Kaeya (Friendship Level 4)

Mister Kaeya takes some getting used to. He’s pretty hard to read. I can tell there’s something he’s hiding. He likes to act like he’s fine, but I can tell he’s not. I don’t want to pry, though. Whatever’s hurting him, it doesn’t seem like he wants to talk about it.

About Diluc (Friendship Level 4)

Mister Diluc? He feels like a warm hearth fire in the middle of a bad winter storm. I don’t know why everyone says he’s mean or broody. I don’t get that impression from him. He just seems like someone who’s been through a lot and doesn’t know how to deal with it.

About Barbara (Friendship Level 4)

I like singing with her! There was this one weird guy who kept following us, but I scared him away with my shapeshifting. Barbara tells me he hasn’t bothered her since!

About Razor (Friendship Level 4)

He’s very attuned to the animals of Mondstadt, just like me. He’s been helping me make friends with the wolves.

I have a lot of trouble staying awake when there’s no sunlight. I do have some energy reserves for when I go cave exploring, but I can only go for so long until I drop. I am still a plant after all. That’s something I can’t change.

Whopperflowers usually confine ourselves to one area and don’t travel much, so we don’t really know much about the world outside of our little spaces. Before I left the mountain, I had no idea there were so many things that could come in colors other than white. I’ve talked to a few Pyros who didn’t even know what snow is!

More About Rubedo V (Friendship Level 6)

I’m not always a sweet little flower, you know. The treasure hoarders and Fatui agents on the mountain have turned me into an urban legend: The Doppelgänger of Dragonspine. If I see any of them getting too close to hurting someone, I mimic one of them and act like I’m gonna eat them! Now a lot of people think I’m some sort of spirit of the mountain~ But nope! I’m just a whopperflower with some perks!

Rubedo’s Hobbies

I like singing to the animals in my spare time. Sometimes my singing and dancing attracts people, too. I don’t mind, though! I like making new friends!

I wish I could figure out a way to stay up a little later. I only get to see the stars for a few minutes before I conk out for the night.

Another Genshin Impact tier list inspired sort of fanfic, this time inspired by BonkMeGud's "Genshin characters in the zombie apocalypse" tier list! There's also some loose "The Last Of Us" inspiration here, if anyone's interested. Welcome to...

"Daylight"

This is a platonic Y/N fic because my ace ass demands more reader insert content that isn't just about shipping. You and Qiqi develop a close sibling-like bond over the course of the story, in which you seek out a safe haven for Qiqi to survive the zombie apocalypse at. Several of the scenarios from the original video this story is inspired by still apply here, but I did take a few creative liberties.

The characters in the "antagonists" tier aren't necessarily enemies for the whole story, they just play an oppositional role to you and Qiqi at some significant point. Most of the characters in general are just trying to cope with everything and survive. However, the Fatui are villains for the majority of the plot (Dottore probably started the whole zombie apocalypse thing), but they weren't on the tier list I used, and neither were most of the Fontaine characters, so...whoops.

There is some romantically implied Xiao X Reader in the prolog, which details your arrival in Liyue and the initial zombie seige on it as the apocalypse starts up, but unfortunately, that ship does not sail here. At the point where the main story starts, you've been living in a heavily fortified Liyue for the past 3 years. Given the fact that Qiqi is a zombie herself, the general populace has grown to distrust her. Because of this, Baizhu has opted to keep her hidden in an attempt to protect her. You've assisted somewhat in doing the same, fearful of the increasingly...erratic behavior of some of Liyue's residents.

Despite everyone's best efforts, this proves to Baizhu's undoing, as Qiqi's capture and his subsequent death at the hands of Hu Tao become the inciting incident for your journey. Within the first few chapters, you uncover Hu Tao's death cult, fulfill Baizhu's dying wish of rescuing Qiqi, and with a little help from Zhongli, the 2 of you escape from Liyue by hitching a ride on Beidou's ship.

The rest of the story sees you and Qiqi traveling around Teyvat as you try to find Qiqi a new home. Along the way, you both meet various other survivors, as well as learn more about what's happened to them over the past 3 years and what's been happening to the rest of the world.

The finale would see the remaining survivors all beginning to unite as one huge faction while Albedo and Sucrose begin to finalize a possible cure. At this point, you and Qiqi are basically inseparable, and even as the apocalypse starts to die down, the 2 of you continue to live and travel together, having found that sought-after safety in each other.

Again, I'm still kind of new to the Genshin Impact fandom, so I might have some info off, but I'd also love to talk more in-depth about different plot points if anyone is interested.

random thought, but imagine them meeting as kids, or like,,, young teenagers- or just, tighnari meeting a younger, naive albedo who is still with his master and tighnari teaches him more about the plants in teyvat, while albedo rambles about alchemy-

anywhore, yes, tighnari never asks for help, not a single person besides albedo. because tighnari knows that albedo WILL be able to help him, he knows that albedo will always find a solution. with others... he's not that sure. tighnari just trusts albedo and albedo trusts tighnari too <33

also, collei and klee would have such a beautiful friendship because i said so. klee wants to go fish blasting again and nothing will stop her but- collei thinks fish blasting will hurt not only the fish but also other animals and the nature so klee will never do it again

(jean would like to know what sorcery collei used)

klee is now the bestest friend of collei and will take super duper care of her, since she's a knight. and she will also protect collei from her super mean sickness. and to cheer her up, she will never go fish blasting again because that makes collei sad.

and while collei and klee run around in mondstadt (because amber is busy as outrider and klee wants to show her new friend around in her home (she will show collei the best places which also include the big kitchen in the giant house of master diluc (where they're getting spoiled by the maids and eating cookies)), albedo and tighnari work on a medication for collei, together with the help of barbara (since she's a healer) and sucrose. they're close to something that can slow the sickness down, but didn't find a true cure yet.

but albedo promises to find it for collei and collei believes him (she thinks that besides tighnari, albedo is probably the smartest person she knows, even tho she knows many people from the akademiya)

ALSO, diona meeting collei and them bonding together with amber as bow girls yes please! they also steal venti away and go with him on an adventure, trying to find chests and the animals and plants you can normally find in mondstadt. they also meet razor, bennett and fischl and it's just this random, big ass group walking around in mondstadt, scaring the fatui and monsters away. venti is the responsible adult (for once) and actually stays sober because these children are very chaotic.

and at the end of the day, he takes them back to dragonspine where abledo and tighnari are already waiting for them.

also, collei meeting lisa again and getting adopted by her and jean (she is now known as the daughter of the true love pair in mondstadt (we believe in a power lesbian couple)) and tighnari running from dragonspine because his big brother sense were tingling. he will and can fight lisa and will win. (and if he's close loosing he just calls his friends from sumeru who love collei with all their heart) collei is a sumeru child, not a mondstadt child and she won't get stolen away.

collei just runs in the chaos and spends her day with amber <3

ALSO- the little family with albedo, klee, tighnari and klee is just aisdfasjdbf CUTE. (this is also me rooting for dense boys because i believe that albedo has a crush on tighnari and doesn't know what to do with this and actually thinks he's sick) while tighnari tries not to die every time albedo smiles-

yes, klee and collei and their nerd dads who are crushing on each other but will probably never end up together because they're dense af

OKAY BUT NOW- now i want cyno randomly showing up because he's crushing on tighnari too and wants his fox boi back in sumeru so he can (secretly) court him and stake his claim (because WHY is tighnari so dense???) but then hears how tighnari and albedo practically live together in dragonspine with their kids and cyno is like: "NO, NO THIS IS A NIGHTMARE-" and then runs to mondstadt only to find out that they are in fact living together but not because of the reason he thought. (he actually feels kind of bad but then he sees how albedo and tighnari act around each other and he agressivly tries to court tighnari back to sumeru, while trying to find a cure for collei on his own (he fails lmao) WHILE also trying to shake off this random mondstadt menaces who are also known as children. (razor doesn't like this man who looks similar to him (he smells weird (he just smells like the desert and razor never smelt that smell)), bennett doesn't like him too because razor doesn't like him, fischl distrusts him because her friends do and diona just dislikes him because she's a cat and is picky about her friends) and then there is also klee. klee who always tries to blow him up because she has to blast something that doesn't hurt 'collei's animals and flowers' and appartently he's a good target.

PHEW okay, that kinda escalated lmao

but yes, now i have tighnari x albedo brainrot, with cyno crushing on tighnari and doing everything to get him back to sumeru while the children of mondstadt + collei just create chaos <33

- has all 5 stars, both limited and standard banner.

- thinks mondstat is the best region

- likes to fight against La Signora and hates fighting against Oceanid, since his party consists more in pyro and geo characters (i headcananon it as Diluc, Zhongli, Itto and maybe Hu Tao but he's always swapping the fourth space)

- probably accidentally activated Bennett's C6

- Already knows Fischl's lines and repeats them with her while playing

- hates fighting La Signora, because her main party consists of Chongyun (cryo), Shenhe (cryo), Thoma (pyro) and Barbara (hydro)

- probably listens to the Inazuma OST while working

- may or may not shed a tear in Imperatrix Umbrosa act II

Shade

- got Gorou and never ever thinks of removing him from any of the four partys

1. Who are your favourite character(s) at the moment?

I definitely have had some pretty strong Harbinger brainrot over the past few weeks (Dottore, Pierro, Pantalone and Capitano especially), but as always Ayato and Zhongli hold a very special place in my heart!! Yae Miko and Tighnari also got me going a bit feral right now ngl

2. Who are your least favourite character(s) at the moment?

There are definitely a few characters who I can't stand (female pyro vision wielders---) but I feel like that's more to do with how they've been written in the game, I feel like I could be convinced to like a lot of them once I've read some good headcanons and such!

3. Which character(s) do you lowkey despise but can't stop thinking about?

SCARAMOUCHE he's a gross little rat and i want to pull his hair -- also same with Al Haitham i just grrr bark (dont come for me i defo dont actually hate either of them asdjkhksdfg)

4. Which character(s) do you identify the most with?

I have pretty strong connections with a few characters throughout the series, but I vibe really hard with Xiao and Gorou (if you couldn't already guess--) and sometimes Sucrose! There's also something about Albedo that's got me like. Hm. Nods. Same hat.

5. What are your favourite headcanons you've come up with?

My appearance headcanons for Capitano are definitely right up there - if MHY disappoints/diverts a lot I think I've come up with enough original content and ideas for him to just make my version a fully fledged OC.

I'm also pretty fond of a lot of my neurodivergent headcanons for certain characters (OCD Pantalone isn't something I've seen around but it's definitely something I incorporate into a lot of my writing with him).

So many. So so many. I have a variety of 'sonas' for various AUs/timelines (though the one that I've made the most content for is. An arranged marriage AU with Ayato jkdskjhgf) and I make a lot of varying content for them (which I probably won't be sharing here because I'm shy but just know. I love them.) with all different characters and different relationship dynamics, I've been shipping myself (or versions of) with fictional characters for years and it's a huge comfort to me and such a fun fun way to experiment with writing different scenarios and such!

8. Thoughts on alternate universes (AUs)? Any favourites?

I LOVE AUs so much i have about a million myself and I adore seeing the kinds of things others come up with !! A lot of my writing tends to be done in a non-canon AU where the events of the game havent/don't happen just to keep things simpler hfkjhsdgk

I'm always an enjoyer of modern AUs, but at the moment i'm holding a particular fondness for the 'Fatui adopt Kaeya AU', which lowkey may have slightly inspired the last fic i started working on ehe

9. If you were from Teyvat, where would you live?

Mondstadt!! It just seems chill and nice and there's such a wide variety of people there, the vibe seems accepting and laid back and it seems like lots of people from different walks of life congregate there! Failing that maybe Sumeru just because mmm pretty

10. What kind of Vision would you have?

Anemo, probably! That's the one i most commonly write my sonas with! Though I don't think I'd be entirely opposed to a Dendro vision in some cases too!!

Hmm I guess maybe catalyst? (something something not another god damn anemo catalyst short model boy)

12. Favourite fandom tropes/goofs?

One i always find funny is like. siblings with big age gaps getting along great (Albedo/Klee, Ayato/Ayaka, Jean/Barbara, etc) but ones closer in age constantly trying to MURDER each other (Diluc/Kaeya, and Aether/Lumine r the only ones i can think of rn).

I also love the found family tropes I see around, and the Nahida and Scara content I've seen recently have been top notch!

13. Least favourite fandom tropes/goofs?

It's a common thing with a lot of games and characters where the fandom reduces them down to a core trait or two and act like it's completely canon, or take certain lines and such out of context and base their entire characterisation off of that - on a surface level theyre silly and fun but when it's literally everywhere

A few i can think of off the top of my head are like 'senior citizen zhongli' where he's reduced to nothing but a bumbling old boomer and the whole 'stalker/obsessive ayaka' bit.

14. If you could change anything about one characters design, who/what would it be and why?

I think some of the adepti should have more non-human traits (xiao deserves horns tbh) and as a general statement i'd love to see characters with facial/body hair and more variety in body types or at least skin tones! I understand it's not exactly like realistic but it would be nice

there was also an interesting detail with Zhongli's design that was fixed - he wore his vision backwards! I think it was super neat and an interesting reference to the fact that it's not a real vision, but sadly they fixed it :(

15. What's your favourite voice line from the game?

I know a lot of people joke about Zhongli's idle lines being really annoying (and while hearing the oSmAnThUs WiNe line 8 times in just as many minutes can get really irritating) but i find them kind of comforting - I play in English and really enjoy the cadence of his voice, it's super comforting to me, so most of his lines are big faves - I also find his 'disliked gift' line super funny where he tries to redirect the player by telling them stories ashkjgf

I also like how Kaeya teases you for standing around (though it kinda makes me wanna flick him), and Tighnari's "who ate a poisoned mushroom this time?" join line is fun!

Genshin Types

a/n: I just got my wisdom teeth removed and I'm absolutely miserable 🥰

tw's: yandere content, game spoilers (?), idk I'm just putting it there in case, it's more like character lore stuff but yk, childe slander lmao I can't stand him, lumine supremacy !

The longing ones:

Chongyun can't bring himself to touch his darling, or get close to them, usually. The thing is, they literally make him hot, and not in the suggestive way, either. Whenever he even starts to think about them Chongyun can feel his cheeks burn, his throat contract, and his hands get sweaty. So, you can imagine how bad it gets when he's physically near them. This is a problem for him, so while he'd love to be around them as much as possible, Chongyun can't. The only exception is when they don't know he's there, but he tries to avoid watching them sleep. Chongyun doesn't like feeling like a creep.

On the other hand, there's Ei. It's not that she can't be around her darling, because she absolutely can, and she does. Ei loves spending times with her darling, and adores them in every single way. She just can't bring herself to admit her feelings for them. She's an Archon, and she's lost a lot of important people in her long existence, even if she's just now coming out of her solitude, Ei is scared. Terrified, even. She loathes the idea of losing her darling. For this reason, I would categorize her as being extremely overwhelming.

Sucrose is just extremely shy, but her trauma definitely plays a part in how she's hesitant to get too close to her darling. Sucrose was left behind by the people she trusted most, so when she fell in love with her darling, she promised herself that she'd stay at a distance. It's so hard, though. They're so sweet, and they always succeed in making her feel flustered at the worst of times. Sucrose, unlike Chongyun and Ei (before she ends up kidnapping her darling), doesn't succeed in staying away for long, and also fits in the clingy category once she goes over the point of no return. She's too sweet, though, so her darling isn't given the chance to notice.

The clingy ones:

Venti genuinely cannot leave his poor darling alone. This generally stems from his fear of losing them, but I see him being very affectionate as well. Venti adores being with his darling, and he's physically affectionate, moreso than the other Archons. He's constantly touching his darling, and he's so charming that they don't get the chance to ask him about it. Holding hands just so happens to be Venti's favorite, especially when he can interlace his fingers with their own. It's so intimate, but not too overwhelming, so in his mind it's perfect.

No, because if there's someone even more clingy than Venti, it would be Amber. She has a lot of energy and Amber's constantly moving around, however, she also spends a lot of time hanging around her darling. Amber hugs them a lot, always wanting to be in contact with her darling. Amber doesn't really have any boundaries when it comes to her darling, so she always ends up invading their privacy, but she doesn't do this on purpose. She just loves being around them <3

The annoying ones:

There is exactly one person in this category that I could think of, and that person is none other than Childe. He just loves teasing his darling, and the fact that he's part of the Fatui doesn't exactly help. He's as extremely annoying person in general, so I cannot fathom him having a darling that likes him. They loathe Childe, and though this may be surprising, he's completely fine with that. He just won't ever let them go, so they're definitely stuck with him. RIP to Childe's darling.

The possessive ones:

I had a lot of characters in mind for this, so I'll put some mentions at the end, but number one is Scaramouche. Possession has a lot of things that go into it, but he truly belives that his darling belongs to him, which may becomes rather... problematic once he takes action on how he feels. Kuni doesn't just want his darling to belong to him, though, he also believes that he belongs to them. Dude takes so much offense when he's flirted with by other people, he actually gets aggressive. Whether or not his darling likes this completely depends on their personality, but he thinks that it just makes sense. You can't tell him otherwise, either.

Lumine can't bear to leave her darling alone, so while she probably also fits into the clingy category, I see her as being possessive moreso. She lost her brother, and while she seems fine on the outside, she definitely isn't. Lumine is terrified that her darling might end up like Aether, getting taken away from her, and it makes her skin crawl. For this reason, Lumine spends most of her time looking after them, and she's the more stern twin so it's harder to deal with her than it it with Aether. You can't outsmart her, either, so there's really no getting away. It's okay, though! She just wants to take care of her darling.

★ Ever since working under Albedo with Sucrose, your life had been nothing but full of wonder. Although some were dangerous, Albedo and you bonded easily as if you had worked together in a past life.

★ Albedo was a genius. He was someone you looked up to, and sometime during your investigations, he had become a friend. You didn't know when it started. When it had gone from two alchemists staying the night in Dragonspine to observe the different stages of new plant growth, to- with the permission of the acting grandmaster - just two people, two friends, going out to explore the seven nations.

★ Sucrose and Timaeus had stayed back in Mondstadt to finish experiments that you both had decided to put on hold for your trip, and with nothing to worry about, the two of you had gone out with nothing but the protection of each other (and your visions, of course), and a few packed meals from Good Hunter.

★ Albedo had a side that no one saw unless they spent nights camping with him in the middle of nowhere. You were one of the lucky people who were able to see that side of his during your trips around the seven.

★ The alchemist wasn't just curious about the way the world works, he had also been curious with, well, you.

★ Some nights when he couldn't go to sleep (which was often. You’d be surprised to see how messed up his sleep schedule was), he would sit in front of the fire you had both worked hard to make, and simply talk.

★ sometimes, it would be short conversations. but more than often, you find yourself talking about everything and nothing until the sun rose above the mountains, and you would have to continue your journey until one of you (usually being you,) were too tired to continue.

★ Albedo talks with passion, no matter what the topic is. He could be talking about what you were going to be having for dinner for the next night before you reach the first region in your trip, and he would already have you captivated.

★ Albedo also talks with gentleness. And this was the said side not a lot of people would be able to see from the chief alchemist. Whenever the tent was filled with comforting silence, you would be able to hear Albedo asking you questions about yourself. They weren’t your standard, what was your dream growing up? Kind of questions, but they were more specific. More… personal.

★ Is it not funny, how life works? What if a single moment had changed in the past, I and you wouldn't have met. He would question, eyes trained to the flames burning in front of him. It sounded rhetorical, but his tone was laced with wonder. He sounds as if he was expecting an answer, but he doesn't urge you for one. And every time he does, you merely hum.

★ Albedo was gentle in everything he did. Almost all the time you were with him, he had never acted brashly. He was patient, kind.

★ and that was most likely what had prompted your crush on the alchemist

a/n: i’m supposed to be working on something else but this brainrot got to me first... anyways, i’m assigning their visions + weapons based off a few fan theories i’ve read~ please enjoy my word dump! :D

okay so we’re starting off with our leader! hmm... i’d say that he has a geo vision

why? idk, i’m half sure it’s based off how calm and composed he is; i do kinda think jungwon is a picture of maturity and elegance (he literally has to take care of six children wdym)

it was kinda hard for me to choose a weapon because i kept going back-and-forth from sword to polearm, but my final pick for him would be polearm

yes this would mean that he is zhongli

a polearm would probably suit him because i see him as the kind to want some kind of control over his weapon (not saying he can’t control a sword). at the same time i feel like he’d want something lightweight which won’t bring him down

i think he’d work with the knights of favonius. working with the liyue qixing could also work for him, but considering the tension between the adepti and the qixing + the social climate of liyue makes me think that he’d want somewhere more calm

acting grandmaster jungwon? i’m down for it

spends time near the mondstadt church; he likes the peace and quiet of it

from the get-go i knew he’d have a hydro vision

this one theory i’ve read says that hydro vision users have a strong sense of morality and justice (i guess i also interpreted it as balance) and heeseung seems like the kind of person who does

for weapon, i think he’d prefer to use a sword. we see that he’s good in a lot of areas when it comes to being an idol, so he’d perhaps want that versatility in the weapon he uses as well

hello xingqiu (wait i kinda think this fits)

i don’t see him particularly associating himself to any organization, so i think he’d simply be a wanderer. he goes from country to country as a vagabond, battling monsters along the way in order to perfect his skills

at the same time, i also see him making a lot of friends and having a bunch of connections from just about any corner of the land (more to acquaintances i suppose? heeseung doesn’t seem like the kind to let people in very quickly)

is probably very curious on elemental reactions and might be studious in a way; he would want to learn alchemy

likes stopping by mondstadt’s library when he needs to look up on something. probably keeps in contact with alchemists too

oh man this is going to probably be very stereotypical

pyro vision, hands down. i was considering an electro vision for him at first but the amount of passion he has in doing the things he loves (primarily hip-hop) screams pyro to me

he would also have a claymore because let’s be real, he’d want something to get the job done quick; claymores are literally the weapon that causes the most damage

yeah he’d be diluc. or xinyan. whatever your pick is

bonks monsters for fun, fight me on this

association... i think he’d be a part of the adventurer’s guild. he strikes me as the kind of person who’d want some kind of reward for something he does for fun (in this case, mora. and a bunch of other items you can get from katheryne once you complete your daily commissions)

this is probably how he meets all his friends. if he wasn’t a part of any association, i don’t think he’d have many (not saying that he’s unable to make friends, he’d choose not to unless necessary)

strives to be a well-known adventurer, probably takes up more commissions than the average one

likes spending time in places with good ambience, food, and booze. probably is a regular at angel’s share and liyue’s street food stalls on days he comes to town

i think he’d have an electro vision. it’s something about the way he fiercely cares for other people that makes me think that this suits him best

okay hear me out but i think he’d be amazing with a bow and arrow. he seems to have the tenacity and upper body strength for it, and i don’t think he’d particularly want something that could do a quick kill, like a sword or claymore per se

uhh... yeah he’d be fischl, i suppose. idk this realization was a bit weird to me but it doesn’t seem so far off from happening

sometimes uses his skills to shoot at fruit from trees; it’s a pretty good party trick

association-wise i don’t think he’d wanna join any, tbh. he’d be an “everyone’s friend” kinda guy. unlike heeseung who’d have acquaintances from all around, jake would generally want to befriend different kinds of people (helps around wangshu inn sometimes because of this)

still though, i think he hangs with members of the adventurer’s guild a lot

don’t be surprised if you catch him befriending a member of the fatui-

i also see him really immersing himself in the culture of each country he visits

he’s the guy who pets all the animals, especially the dogs

also seems like the kind to purchase or collect raw meat just to give to the stray animals he meets on his travels

oh boy am i excited for this one

okay so i know this is stereotypical but... cryo vision. honestly, having a geo vision would also be possible but remember that one time childe said something around the lines of the goddess of cryo having such a warm heart and she loved so much to the point it froze? yeah i think i’m basing him off the tsaritsa-

weapon would be a sword. i considered choosing a polearm for him but i think he’d want something slightly heavier that would get the job done, but not necessarily a claymore. do i think he has the capacity to use a claymore if he wanted to, though? sure why not

hello kaeya (or qiqi, if you’d wish)

okay okay this is where it gets fun... imagine sunghoon as a member of the fatui

mmm villain!sunghoon we love to see it

he’d honestly probably be on the road to becoming a harbinger? like, we see how he works very hard at ice skating and idol training, who’s to say that he won’t climb up the ranks real quick?

yes jakehoon brotp agenda is still on so they would be friends (though honestly their friendship is kinda uncanny)

when i thought of stuff to write for him i kinda think that he’d like liyue a lot; the tradition and order feel like home to him. this also fits lore because there’s more fatui appearances in liyue compared to mondstadt

also seems like the kind to wander around the city when things start to calm down for the day; if he’s not being tasked on a mission, he sometimes likes to head out to huaguang stone forest

sunshine baby

okay i think he’d have an anemo vision (and this is not because he reminds me of venti). there was another theory that said that anemo vision-holders are hard workers who sometimes don’t give themselves enough rest, and sunoo seems to make the cut. he’s crazy hardworking at things he know he’s lacking at and strives to improve

i think he’d have a catalyst (yes!! we need male catalyst characters!!); i can see him absolutely fascinated by the way catalysts work like... “there’s no solid object engineering the attacks so... what is that? it seems so cool!”

so yeah he’d be sucrose, hello

i also think he’d want to be a part of the adventurer’s guild! it keeps him busy plus he likes helping people :D

would then be introduced to jay (and possibly jake) when he’s assigned to do a commission with him. honestly he’d prefer doing commissions with others rather than doing them alone

has a hard time killing monsters because he finds them cute (especially slimes). i think he’d also empathize with hilichurls to a degree

i see him residing in mondstadt most of the time; he’d also like talking to the locals a lot (has a high rep because of this)

loves trying out local cuisine, some of his favorite dishes include sweet madame and zhongyuan chop suey!

oh i’m also kinda excited for his too

so i initially thought he’d have a pyro vision, but after some time i figured he’d have an electro vision instead. i think it’s this weird sentiment i feel that he’d protect his passions with his life (in this case, dancing; he’s literally inseparable from it), so there’s that

totally looks like the kind to have a polearm. he definitely would want something lightweight that he could lowkey flex with

sadly he doesn’t have a genshin character twin yet :(

would also not have any affiliation whatsoever; he just traverses the land like the free spirit he is

occasionally would tag along with some adventurer’s guild members, but doesn’t like the idea of people telling him what to do; he creates his own adventures instead

am i the only one here who thinks that he’d honestly run really fast here (hehe speedy boi)

he’d love dashing through mondstadt’s plains (particularly springvale), sometimes slashing monsters left and right (he likes liyue’s scenery but the terrain is way too mountainous for him)

one thing he does like about liyue though is playing with the kids in the harbor. he’d get them toys with the extra mora he receives when helping people (big brother ni-ki agenda hmm)

I’ve never known if that is actually canon, or an in-world superstition, and I don’t think it’s ever officially confirmed. Looking at different Vision stories, it becomes clear that different characters think differently about this.

But if we believe there is some connection between Archons and Visions of their element, I think we can make some interesting speculation.

The only other archon we’ve met is Venti, and as Anemo users, Sucrose and Jean are very different. Sucrose has a sense of wonder for the world and an expansive curiosity. She wants to enrich the world through her alchemy, which I think matches Venti’s own passion for song and stories.

As for Jean, we have this bit from her Vision section:

If one were to go by skill alone, Jean has long become one of the best swordsmen in Mondstadt. But in Jean's heart, she would rather be a shield that defends freedom and song than a sword that cuts through corruption and darkness.

I think this is something Venti can relate to, as well. He became archon when deposing a tyrant. He secured freedom for his people, and was so serious about safeguarding that freedom, that he didn’t even rule them directly. He did return, however, to protect the people of Mondstadt: he helped Vennessa and her people free themselves from slavery and depose the corrupt aristocracy, and he helped when Dvalin attacked Mondstadt.

From here, I have to wonder if we can sort of... reverse engineer some general character traits about the other archons.

Like I said, for Geo users, it’s definitely that they’re workaholics. They all take their jobs very seriously. Zhongli has a sense of dedication, to the point that it takes a long time to realize he can just... step back. And looking at all the other Geo users, they’re definitely the kind of people who put their work first.

For Pyro users, they’re generally very passionate individuals: Amber about being an Outrider, Xiangling about cooking, Xinyan about rock and roll, Diluc about defending Mondstadt... This one implies some very straightforward things about the Pyro Archon.

For Cryo users, there’s a permeating sense of loss they all dealt with: Kaeya lost his family (his father in a literal sense, his brother in a more emotional sense), Qiqi lost her life, Diona didn’t lose her father but she did feel like she was losing him, Chongyun doesn’t even know why he got a Cryo Vision, but he definitely feels a sense of loss at not being able to perform his exorcist duties in the traditional way.

In the storyline preview trailer, we get this interesting line about the Tsaritsa: that she no longer has any love for her people, and they no longer have any love for her. Ouch. So, definitely some parallel we can draw here.

Hydro users are a bit trickier to pin down, but they are all the kind of people who shape themselves to a role like water shaping itself to its container: Barbara consciously taking on this role of the singing idol if it meant making other people feel better, Mona dedicating herself to the ideals of an astrologist so thoroughly that she refuses payment, Xingqiu building an entire persona around chivalry, and Childe... jesus, okay, I love this guy, but he’s basically a Saturday morning cartoon villain. He has several lines about conquering the world. He’s a Harbinger purely because it allows him to fight with more people and bring him closer to the role he really wants, which is the world’s biggest fighty boy or whatever.

The Hydro Archon likely is someone who dedicates herself thoroughly to her own role, and the storyline preview says the Archon Quest for Fontaine will be called ‘Masquerade of the Guilty’. Masks and roles as a motif?

Electro users... this one is more tricky, but Fischl received her Vision in a time of profound loneliness in her life. Razor received it at a traumatic instance in his life, when he was helpless and cornered and would have probably died if he hadn’t received it just then. Beidou, on the other hand, received it at a moment of triumph over a force that much greater than herself. Lisa, in the most batshit example on this list, received her Vision just by wishing for it--but then once she got it, she felt scared by the true implications of what receiving a Vision may have even meant! Keqing, on the other hand, saw her Vision as an insult, and even tried to destroy it because she saw it as robbing her of the credit that ought to have gone to her own skills.

Now, we do have a hint from Zhongli about the Electro Archon’s beliefs--”Seven precepts for seven archons, and eternity closest to divinity”.

We don’t actually know much else about Baal, but she seems obsessed with this concept enough that she would seize her people’s Visions to somehow accomplish her ideal.

If I had to draw it back around to how it relates to the Electro characters, then I would say that eternity is a concept that is much grander than oneself, and therefore it makes for a humbling force in humans’ lives. Fischl received her Vision in a period of time when she was emotionally vulnerable. Razor, too, received it in a moment of vulnerability, when he was close to dying. Beidou, also, could have died but instead conquered a foe that nobody would have expected her to. Lisa was humbled by her own Vision’s appearance. Keqing, by contrast, felt humiliated by it. We see these contrasting states of strength/powerlessness in the Electro users.

So I posit the following: Baal, the Electro Archon, is someone in an emotionally brittle state. Her decisions may well be coming from a position of vulnerability, whether real or imagined. So she exerts her authority to overcome that.

It’s possible that either her Archon quest will be about the Traveler being the tipping point that makes her lose her equilibrium (someone who can control the elements, yet has no Vision for her to take). A possible way this may be played would be that while she is distracted by the Traveler as a possible threat, the Fatui will take advantage and take her Gnosis.

Or maybe something completely different is up with Baal and I’m wrong about all of this! We’ll see whenever Inazuma comes out, and whether or not I’m right, that will still provide us a bigger sample size for how element users relate to archons of their element.

About Jean: Master Jean, *sigh*. That woman never catches a break. I just wish she would realize how important she is to all of us.

About Kaeya: Oh? Tall guy, blue hair? Yeah... him. I'm a bit curious about him if we're being honest here. He only spares me a few words and winks... or are they blinks? Ya know I can't really tell with that stupid eye patch of his. Hmph. Not to mention I'm always brewing him up some teas for his dumb hangovers.

About Diluc: Oh, the darknight hero you mean? What, you didn't think I'd know? Who else do you think supplies medicine for his little wounds?
