Do vocals! Foxes make a variety of different noises to convey emotion, including yips, barks, squeaks, and whines

Wear gear/get gear if you can! Getting some gear or making some gear (discreetly, if need be) and wearing it is very euphoric in my experience!

Do quads if you can! Foxes are very quick little creatures and often trot, but trotting is very difficult, so stick to walking for a bit. Foxes also jump quite a bit, so try jumping quads, but make sure to always be safe and stretch first! And BEND YOUR ELBOWS

Try eating dried meats to be similar to prey, as foxes are carnivores

Try drawing your theriotypes! Even if you're not very good at art, keep practicing and drawing different poses!

Go exploring in your theriotype's habitat! Go hiking in a forest or near a lake, and try doing quads or vocals, or really any of the things above in the forest, it's very euphoric in my opinion!

Go to your local zoo! My local zoo has some foxes, but I'm not sure if all of them do. Seeing your theriotype in real life is really cool and there are so many interesting things you can learn about them at the zoo as well. Also check out wildlife reserves and national parks!

Research your theriotype! Look into their behavior, vocals, habitats, and diets and things like that! Learning about your theriotypes is surprisingly fun!

Your characters are extremely interesting, the number of character asks you get alone is proof of that. They're charismatic and endearing and we all want to learn more about them

Your little comics are cute, but your full pieces are insane /pos. Not only is the anatomy practicaly flawless, but the composition and perspective is mind blowing.

I also don't know what to call it, but the "abstract stylisation" you put in the background of some of your art is such a big inspiration to me. I often go look at your art to observe how you did it because of how good all the stapes and colours theory and shading is, and i still can't figure out how you manage to make such high quality art. Even the line weight looks impossibly good /pos. It makes me think of art nouveau

Ken calls me his "sweet, divine, beautiful girl" (while counting the adjectives on his fingers, for emphasis) but he says "sweet girl" for short. I got the idea because Margot Robbie said in a very early Barbie press interview "Ryan improvised a line during the 'sublime' scene where he instead shouted... what did he say? 'My sweet girl'!" and I thought to myself "ohhh that's so perfect!!!" I always love implementing nicknames with my main F/Os and making them special. I love "baby" "sweetheart" "darling" etc etc but I REALLY have such a soft spot for nicknames that F/Os would call me and nobody else, something that's personal to them, and vice versa. I thought it was perfect. I like the idea of Barbie calling me that too ;u; sounds so lovely in her voice.

But later when the behind the scenes footage was released in iMax theaters, the phrase he shouted was actually "my divine girl", not sweet girl like Margot had said. But I had gotten SO ATTACHED to being Ken's Sweet Girl™ for two months, I didn't want to change it, couldn't even consider it. I decided to just add to it... "sweet, divine" girl, but he'd still just say sweet girl most of the time for short. Problem solved. BUT THEN I had a dream shortly after, where he was teary-eyed, holding me, sobbing "my beautiful girl, my beautiful girl". And I woke up immediately fueled with the power of ten thousand suns saying "okay so I'm Ken's sweet, divine, beautiful girl. got it. got it. cool, coolcoolcool, so cool." We'll see if a fourth adjective comes into play someday 😂😂

You know, when I started posting fanfiction again, I was looking to reclaim some part of myself. Because for so long the narrative was 'fanfiction is something only little kids do'.

I was never expecting to gain so many friends, mutuals or followers and I can't begin to say how much brighter my days feel knowing that people are enjoying the stuff I do.

I genuinely thought I'd be posting into the abyss. Just... trying to reconnect with a little fourteen year old Duck who loved to make silly stories and draw.

With that, the boy headed for the counter, wanting to waste no time earning his tickets. Evan however decided right then and there to jumpscare the boy by passing in front of him, appearing dead-set on doing… something. Matthew raised a brow at the piece of paper in his hands. Noticing that he’d stopped, the Afton whipped around to apologize.

���Oh, sorry! I didn’t mean to startle you.” Matt brushed it off, motioning to the paper instead.

“I’m good. What’s that?”

Evan rubbed his elbow at the question, trying to hide the blush that was creeping on his cheeks.

“Um… it’s just a little drawing I did for- here!” gaining courage out of nowhere, the little boy thrust the paper into Matthew’s hands, looking up at him expectantly. Matt smiled for a moment at the cute sight, before checking out said drawing.

A colored sketch of Mari greeted him, who coming out of its box while hanging from a marionette’s cross, present in hand. The box itself was a proper cube, Mari’s face shape was that cheeky circle he’d grown accustomed to, the pose wasn’t butchered, and even the stripe count was right. And the whole thing was heavily stylized as well, to Matt’s pleasure. He wouldn’t have thought Evan to take after his brother and have an artistic inclination, but he more than impressed with the young boy. There were a couple of erased lines here and there, but besides that the sketch was clear, as was the line art. Technically Mari’s first ever fanart, and an awesome one to boot- oh, he just knew the Puppet would love it. How amazing was it that Evan had been the one to draw this, and that he’d done such a good job? The kid was so precious Matthew was sure he’d melt on the spot. Though, thanks to the mask he wasn’t far from it, as his clear mind enable him to better appreciate the drawing. Part of it had been colored with markers- Mari’s main body- while crayons and pencils had been used for the box, makeup and cross. It also seemed like Evan had been inspired by the Puppet statues they’d seen the previous day on the shelves, which… To draw that from memory with no reference... Wow. Matthew was more than a little envious. Ready to geek out, he handed the fanart back and proudly patted Evan’s shoulder.

“Dude, dude, this is so very well made, and I’m not just saying that! Like I’m genuinely shocked- I didn’t know you were so good at this type of stuff! I- I don’t even know what to say, it’s just- uh, props to you, man. If you keep practicing, you’re gonna be able to do some jaw dropping art.” Evan’s blush intensified at his words, unused to the praise. The boy glanced to the side before biting his lips and speaking in a hushed tone.

“A- Actually, Mikey helped with the lines and the er- the po- position. I did the colors and… yeah. It was mostly him.” oh. Matt deflated a bit hearing that, but he still gave the Afton a thumbs up. It was nice to hear Michael was being decent to his sibling. That was the least he could do.

“Hey, don’t sell yourself short. I stand by what I said, this is awesome. The fact that you didn’t go over the outline and that you weren’t afraid to mix things up is great. Good on Mike for lending you a hand, but I’m guessing you were the one with the idea to draw this, right?” the other nodded. “See? What counts is the intent. This’ll make Mari’s day if you plan on showing him, trust me.” He assured kindly.

From the look on his face Matthew got the impression Ev wished to refute the praise, but he opted otherwise, choosing to flash him a small smile. He hugged the paper to his chest.

“I wanted to make something for Mr. Marionette since he gave me my torch. It’s been helping me with my dreams and mum said that when someone’s nice to you, you have to be nice to them too.” Behind his mask the older boy made an ‘aww’ sound.

“Don’t let me stop you then. Go on.”

Not a question but I just want you to know that every single time I open this app I always check your blog to see if you've posted any new mapledragon cause you are so CREATIVE!! And your ideas are sososososoos COOL?! Silly?! Mischievous!? Nefarious!? /pos,,,

I want to tell you something too about your art block; I suggest you try do it unconsciously, like doodling while your teacher is explaining a boring speech, and whenever your bored, just put yourself on autopilot and draw on paper, draw eyes, random poses, characters in fits or redesigns & etc. Don’t work for the image in your mind and just let the lines do it for you.

Lastly : I hope that you get better soon with your problems, don’t go to harsh on yourself as your the only person who’s you, everyone makes mistakes; I probably made one right now in this text,,, and Everytime I see your art I print it and eat it.

DUDE... oh my gosh i haven't been on Tumblr for weeks but you don't know how much your words mean to me!! like, really! i was feeling so depressed and down a few weeks ago but ive been doing better since school has reopened once more! helloo , question .. how do you draw your sonic characters and bodies ? face , torso , and that kind of stuff .

i am able to draw sonic characters well enough but when it gets past the chest and shoulders i just make a rounded shape or try to conveniently hide it . thank you if you respond !

Hi anon! <3 I hope you’re still here, sorry for the wait. This was tricky to answer since I mostly just wing it lol but I will do my best to explain my thought process! Keep in mind that this is just how I do it, that doesn’t mean it’s the right way, plus I’m learning new things all the time ^^; Excuse the messiness and the rambling:

Personally I like to draw characters about 4 heads tall, sometimes even 5 heads if I’m in a “legs for daaays” kinda mood lol. Officially Sonic characters are about 3 heads tall, but I find that giving them longer limbs gives me more freedom to make dynamic poses. In this example, you can get an idea of how tall I make them:

After figuring out the height, I draw what I call the flow line or action line (not my term… p sure I stole that from someone lol). This helps the piece feel more dynamic, preventing it from feeling too stiff. In this case with Silver, it’s the pink-ish line:

Notice how I draw circles for the joints. That just helps with proportions, in other words, the length of the limb compared to the body. Think about where your elbow is in relation to your torso; that’s usually where I put it. For Sonic characters, hands and feet are really big. I usually make them about the size of the face.

My sketches change all the time… Sometimes I don’t even keep the sketch bc it usually turns into the “lineart” layer (in quotes bc my lineart is just cleaned up sketches ^^;) But I found this Espio sketch. Notice how it changed quite a bit. I felt that his body was too stiff, so I exaggerated the bend to his body and felt that looked much better. Basically, exaggerate curves whenever you can:

Another tip: When it comes to perspective in limbs, think about if you were to chop the limb (a bit morbid, I know lol). Which way would the limb face?

I also like cropping the characters so that they extend past the page. This helps them feel like they exist outside of the canvas and prevents them from feeling confined within the frame.

If you think about it, everything is essentially a 3D shape: a sphere, cylinder, cube, etc. Sometimes they’ll be altered shapes (torsos are basically altered cylinders, feet are altered cubes, and so on). If you can make these shapes, you can draw pretty much anything! That’s all you need to take away from this, really <3

Those are all my secrets ;) Sorry it’s all over the place, my brain is just so scrambled asdfgh but I hope this helped a little, and maybe I’ll see your art sometime! <3
