Just posting some fancy 1920s characters I made to mess around with ☕✨
(aka things that happen when I read Wodehouse, Lackadaisy and binge Downton Abbey)
From left to right: Priya, Freddie, Matthew, Arthur & Marion
1928
Lord Dalham's son has succumbed to illness and the next heir to his title, his nephew Frederick Barlow, a solicitor, is to return to England after spending the last two years in India.
"Freddie", isn't quite the reserved, serious man that everyone remembered upon return; because they are in fact, Frederick's unruly twin that was travelling by his side to be engaged to an English officer.
After their brother's unexpected death, Freddie assumed his identity, recruiting the help of Frederick's former valet, one Matthew Halkett.
Through gentlemen's clubs, fancy country houses, speakeasies and gambling pits, dog shows and county fairs, Freddie discovers alarming and conflicting information regarding their twin, as well as people who seem to have curious ties to him.
Tumblr media
Freddie Barlow (28)
Despite being born in the upper classes and having the privileges that come with this, Freddie never quite found their calling in life, nor were they considered a particularly graceful aristocrat; not being the one for sports like tennis, or the arts, desperately failing at music and painting.
They would have liked to pursue acting, but that option was of course, off the table. They were supposed to be a socialite like their mother, and their acting skills were required to put on a mask and pull on strings. That seemed to keep everyone pleased until in an effort to protect their best friend from a predatory suitor, Freddie allowed scandal to soil their name and was sent to India to get married, accompanied by their twin, Frederick.
After Frederick's death in a railroad "accident", Freddie discovers a plot against their family, and assumes his identity upon arriving in England, after a 2-year absence. Their alter ego is assumed to still be in India and married to an English officer.
Freddie is constantly discovering alarming and conflicting information regarding their twin and bears guilt, doubt, and identity issues over their actions.
(Freddie is afab & non-binary/genderfluid by today's standards, all pronouns apply but in the context of the story, Freddie leans towards masculine terms)
Tumblr media
Matthew Halkett (30)
Matthew Halkett was Frederick's former valet, who was let go before the twins' trip to India.
Halkett grew up into poverty and was a thief and an underground boxer as a youth, before turning his life around in his teens. He dedicated his life to service, when his uncle, butler at Lord Dalham's big estate, helped him get into service as a footman. He soon found he has a particularly keen eye for detail, and a strong work ethic that made him shine amongst staff. He also served in the Great War before his employment at the Barlow household.
Upon receiving news of his potential title as heir to his uncle, Frederick required a valet, and when the two met at Lord Dalham's estate the offer was made.
As Frederick's valet Halkett knew most of the secrets of the household, including Freddie's. Due to an unjustly blamed incident of theft, Frederick fired him with no reference which left him in a rather unsatisfactory position, under the employment of an old bubbling arrogant Colonel.
His previous position also makes him a target of Frederick's enemies after his death. He is the first ally Freddie seeks out upon returning to England, and is offered, once again, the position of the valet on their side instead.
Tumblr media
Priya Curtis (21)
The youngest daughter of middle class merchants, Priya Curtis is an sweet and elegant young lady of British-Indian heritage who seems to have followed Freddie all the way on his trip back to England. Or more like, she seems to think she's following Frederick.
The reason? Why, revenge, of course.
If they get past that misunderstanding, Priya and Freddie might discover they are connected by something of a familial nature.
Tumblr media
Arthur Pennington (28)
Arthur Pennington is the son of an English earl & an American heiress, and Frederick's friend from their university days in Oxford. Despite his wealth, he also studied law but remains rather unworldly and naive due to a rather sheltered lifestyle. He makes up with his infectious energy, friendliness, and unending loyalty, and he's eager to recount old stories to Freddie, initially not realizing he's not talking to their twin.
Tumblr media
Marion Ellis (36)
A Renaissance lady; writer, poet, and predominantly a journalist, she spent many good years in Paris and Montmartre, where her fiancé, John, awaits her return. An extremely romantic soul with a love for the arts and a social butterfly, Marion is well aware of the ins and outs of high society and has written under a nickname for ladies' magazines. She is an acquaintance of Freddie's lord-uncle, and apparently, had some mysterious ties to Frederick.

@meowmeowriley asked to hear more about 4, 6, and 7 from my COD wip list (thank you very much btw) and my motto will always be 'ask and ye shall receive' so here we go!
4 Still Unnamed centaur AU: Alright so Price is the very proud owner of a centaur wildlife reserve which is a place that takes injured centaurs and fixes them up so they can be released again. Ghost, Soap, Gaz, Roach, König, and my OC Flower (pls ask me about him), are all centaurs who cannot be released into the wild due to various reasons and they act as like ambassadors, they even organise events to help raise centaur awareness (everyone especially adores the kids that come with school visits) but Shepard, who is a very high official in the wildlife reserve business, only sees centaurs as beasts and not like the intelligent beings they are. He tries to put Price out of business at every opportunity and is generally an all around dick. Yet nothing seems to work as support for centaur communities continues to blow up due to the team being adorable and in love together, i mean look at Ghost blushing as Soap tries to court him! It's adorable!
6 The Men In The Corner Booth: It's basically an outside view on the lads from the perspective of a gay bar and it's patrons. I love outsider POVs so i decided to make my own. It's mostly about the lads being disgustingly in love with each other while also being absolutely insane. Also features another of my OCs i call Timber. I don't have much yet but i still love it.
7 Wild Wild West: A RDR2 and COD crossover, i also love this one. The lads are a bounty hunter gang who mainly deal with the worst of the worst and are on the search for Graves who betrayed them, they find out Graves is working with these dudes called the Pinkertons and accidentally stumble upon the Van Der Linde Gang getting shot at and decide to intervene. They team up and join the camp as they search for Graves, in the meantime they show the Van Der Linde gang that things could be better mainly by just doing their own thing as they normally do. (AKA everyone does the chores and brings in money instead of relying on one dude to do it, i am a firm believer in letting Arthur rest. That poor man needs it) Ghost and Arthur bond, Hosea and Price bond over being dads, Price sets Dutch straight, they drive Micah crazy. Very fun. Also stars Flower because i love my boy.
Nobody asked for it, but i need to rant about my Star Wars COD crossover too, it's very self indulgent and full of my own headcanons so be warned. It's about Ghost and Soap being Mandalorian bounty hunters who just got married a week ago and still very deep in that honeymoon phase. They make a stop on Coruscant because they're out of the tea Ghost drinks and Ghost without his tea is a nightmare so they go get it even though Coruscant is a sensory nightmare (They are both force sensitive because the Force is very cool and force sensitive Mando's exist damnit) they find his tea, but also find a wee little baby Obi-Wan, freshly traumatized from Bandomeer, hiding in a alley because Obi had a panic attack while searching for his master at the markets. Ghost and Soap's Mandalorian instincts activate, Soap sees Obi is Stewjoni like him and gets even more protective. And well the marriage is really new but it's never too early to adopt right?
Baby Obi gets fed copious amounts of tea and cookies and gets adopted, but requests to get brought back to the Jedi temple because he does really want to be a Jedi and finish his education, Ghost is a bit pouty but they drop him off by the temple with a care package and a few dozen comm numbers to call if he ever gets in trouble or just wants to call his new family. And because Obi-Wan is the greatest danger magnet to have ever lived he will get in a lot of trouble lol.
Anyways, first post that is not a reblog i think, nice. I will always love questions about things i write or my OC's so please, if you're curious about something, ask away.

Iah! How about Barbatos for your character ask game?
Barbatos!! I have to admit that much of what I enjoy about him is from fan content but the canon stuff is still so fun and intriguing
First impression
OKAY so him, I first encountered him in main game and among everyone he was the biggest question mark to me because there was not much to work with—but he had a bright teal highlight so I figured there must be more to him than just being a butler. Mysterious vibes all around.
Impression now
Even more question marks?? Because despite the three and a half seasons, there hasn’t been much of Barbatos shown, and it feels like half the times he’s around, he’s only there to reveal just enough of himself that you end up with more questions than answers.
The bits that we get are so interesting, though. His indifference-leaning-curiosity about MC (which honestly… please, it is so welcome and refreshint), his powers, his dedication a loyalty to Diavolo despite the fact that he fully stifled his freedom by forcing him into servitude, his time and space powers… And aside from main story, there’s the Devilgram and chat stuff too. He ice skates? Does make up? Is actually funny and such a little shit, too?
And speaking of Devilgrams and chats, the dissonance between them and what he’s like in main story is so fun. You have to wonder what’s going to happen in main story that leads to him being like that towards MC in his little side stories. What’s the journey? Are we actually going to be shown the journey or is it going to be weirdly sudden without much hinting of anything?
Here’s to hoping we learn more about the guy soon… Super frustrated by the sheer nothing that we’ve gotten so far, 8 Lessons into 20 of S4 at the time of writing this :/
Favorite moment
Him doubting the shit out of Lucifer while they were alone in the student council room in S2. Felt so ominous (?) in a way the first time I read through it and I was like yeah… shit’s gonna go down, isn’t it? He seemed a bit threatening there too. Excellent!
Also with a special place in my heart: That time Diavolo was ranting to Lucifer all about the heartache Barbatos was giving him in the Fantastic Three chat… and at the very end Barbatos responds with a ’My Lord?’ and I just hsdkjg there was something so funny about the idea of him fucking reading that exchange and going ??????
Idea for a story
This is like… OC content again >.< But since Dolasach actually questions why the fuck they just whisked her away without warning and without her things, Diavolo has Barbatos open a portal to her apartment and help her move some of her things into her room in the HoL. Short, some questions, amicable conversation. A whole lot of nothing, really, but I like writing stuff that’s not really got much plot to it. Born out of me realizing that wait… My OC doesn’t have to just go with the flow like canon MC does sdfgsfdg
Unpopular opinion
He doesn’t use his powers voluntarily unless Diavolo orders him to or grants him permission. This is less an opinion and more a reminder of what’s canon tbh, like he himself has said that he’d prefer to not constantly know what‘s to come.
Favorite relationship
Him and Lucifer lol he’s such a little shit to him >.< The Fantastic Three chat is gold for those times when Barbatos indulges in his urge to cause chaos just a bit and gives Lucifer some trouble by encouraging Diavolo and making teasing remarks.
Favorite headcanon
He owns a copy of Le Repertoire De La Cuisine and knows how to cook every single thing in there. Sometimes he closes his eyes, goes through the pages, and points to a random dish that he proceeds to create a Devildom approximation of it for Diavolo just for funsies.

I wanna know about your ocs!! microscope, ufo aaand love note for both mia and rae (or the one you prefer)
Gladly! Sorry this took so long; I started it last night but then my husband spiked a fever and we had to run to urgent care for a COVID test and my ipad ate my reply while I was gone :P
Microscope: “Zoom in - describe the little, insignificant details about an OC” (I wasn’t sure if this meant physical or other, so I did one of each :)
Rae (MC):
Girl loves everything peanut - Reeses? Check. Peanut butter fudge? Check. If it doesn’t have peanuts, it’s not worth calling candy/dessert. Her favorite thing ever is a vanilla sundae with crushed Reeses cups, Reeses pieces, and peanut butter sauce on top. With sprinkles.
She also has strangely long and thin fingers, like good luck finding a department store ring to fit her that didn’t come out of the little girls’ department. The only places she’s found that sell rings she can wear is Hot Topic. She buys her rings off Etsy now.
Mia (OC):
Collects tarot cards, but doesn’t believe in them. She loves the art, the symbolism, and how cards can be completely different but mean the same thing. She loves how much work and thought goes into making a cohesive deck. She’s memorized all the meanings and can easily do readings, but she’s insistent that everyone winds up matching what they already think to the cards. Will go on long psychology-related rants about it.
Has really really long eyelashes - like, she wears contacts because her eyelashes kept smushing against her glasses and making it hard to blink. They’re super long but not super dark, so she’ll tint them up with mascara if she’s going somewhere special.
UFO: “Identity! What are some key identifying qualities or traits of your OC(s)? How do they identify in regards to gender/sexuality?
Rae
With regards to gender/sexuality, she’s a cis woman, pansexual, and a dedicated monogamist. She’s very big into the idea of finding a partner and dedicating her life to them.
Professionally, she’s studying to work in art restoration and conservation. She’s patient and serious when it’s time to work, which throws people off because her personal identity is that of a prankster and fun-loving social butterfly. She’s also a singer in a metal band, so her rebellious streak definitely forms a huge part of her identity.
In fact, she’s worried about actually making her way in the art world because restoration/conservation tends to be a conservative (ha ha) field and between her color-rotation hair, variety of tattoos, and foul mouth, she’s doubtful she’ll actually get a job.
The rest of her identity is what she struggles with - the rejected no-hoper foster kid, no family, no friends because who can keep friends when you change foster families and schools every 6 months? The casual abuse, the neglect, the (thankfully temporary) loss of her brother, the suicide attempt - all of it led her to a family that loved her, but you can’t make up for 16 years of awful that quickly.
Mia:
Gender/sexuality: Mia would kind of identify as a woman, but it doesn’t matter too much to her. She’s not sure she’d go so far as to say genderqueer or Demigirl, but she’s not really invested in gender. She feels more like a woman than anything else, but is “meh” on it. She looks damn good in a dress and she knows it, but she’s more comfortable in cargo pants and tank tops. She’s straight, but poly. She needs her partners to be her family, and not every partner has to be a romantic or sexual partner. She craves physical affection and hates being alone. Hanging around in a cuddle puddle watching a movie with one or more partners is ideal for her. And if her partners are also partners? Bliss.
Beyond that, she identifies as a maker. If she’s not straight-up relaxing or doing some other job for her House, she’s building, crafting, or creating. Her style of magic is non-ritualistic, and she’s capable of imbuing what she makes with intention and power. Some items might take her months or years to create, but goddamit the end result will be usable, powerful, and, preferably, aesthetically pleasing.
She’s studied psychology but never actually made it into being a therapist. She has the degree and a year working at a home for troubled kids, but Magic and Making got a hold of her that was far tighter - and allowed for travel, and meeting powerful and interesting people :)
She identifies as a bookworm when she has the time to read, and if she can’t read, she’ll listen to audiobooks while she makes stuff. Part of her love of psychology stems from her love of fiction - books taught her how to deal with the world, and she’ll analyze any kind of story for hours.
Love Note: Who likes who? Crushes? Relationships? Are they mutual or unrequited?
Rae:
Rae and Mammon get a hold of each other pretty fast and never let go. It’s a solid, mutual relationship based on affection, dumbassery, and sarcasm.
If Mammon wants to do something stupid, Rae will find a way to either make it work, or to make it REALLY FUCKING STUPID.
(If it’s going to be dangerous or super illegal, she’ll talk him out of it.)
If Rae wants to do something stupid, Mammon will 1000% ramp it up to ridiculous levels, to the point where it never happens because they’re cracking up like morons over the plan instead of executing the plan.
Then there are days and nights spent locked in one of their rooms just chilling and being together. There’s a quiet there that works.
Mammon also SUPER accidentally helped her find her brother again.
Mia:
Oh boy. Mia’s story is still very much in the works and is VERY VERY self-indulgent, romantically speaking. I’m actually kind of embarrassed, but the story makes me happy.
Married her childhood sweetheart at 18 because the college they were attending wouldn’t let them live together on campus, and you could only live off-campus as a freshman if you were married. They’d been inseparable since they were in kindergarten, so why tf not, right?
(Was still poly when with him, just more casual about partners besides him.)
Lasted a whole three more years. Found out husband had some (diluted, but present) Celestial blood. As he struggled to figure out what this meant, it opened the door to be essentially radicalized into bounty-hunting “rogue” witches and sorcerers. They weren’t happy by this point, and Mia bounced.
Wound up moving around cities for awhile. Has what SHOULD have been a one-night stand with a mysterious sorcerer she met in a bar when some asshole would take her “no” at face value.
He helps her unlock her suppressed magic; has to do a lot of research to figure out WTF to do with non-ritual-based magic. This takes time.
Before they know it, what should have been a one night stand or, at best, a friends with benefits relationship, has suddenly become like 5 years of her, him, and his favorite demon, Asmo, as a kind of poly triad.
But he’s doing shady Sorcerer Stuff behind her back, like an asshole, and gets pulled into the exchange program before they can sort it out.
Mia has a TEMPER, and that’s the final straw. She’s a “leave no survivors, salt the earth” kind of psycho when you push the wrong buttons, so she lights out and has to cut off Asmo too, because he’ll tell Sol where she is if she doesn’t.
Winds up in The Conclave, a sort of sanctuary for non-ritual-based magicians, where she uses her talent for Making Magical Stuff to help them with their defense and offense. War strategy stuff. They jokingly call her General.
Who else winds up there? Rae! (Where else is a human with little magical ability but access to Devildom go? Conclave’s been around for centuries; well, look, they have a lot of art that needs cleaning.....) Who does Rae bring? Mammon! Mammon, at some point, brings Satan because there’s info he needs that MIGHT be in their extensive, centuries-old library....
Which leads to Satan and Mia hanging out a lot, him doing a lot of reading aloud while she makes stuff, then discussions of the books. Which leads to dating.
Which leads to a reuniting with Asmo. And Sol.
And A WHOLE LOT OF DRAMATIC SELF-INDULGENT STUFF LATER, we’ve got a poly quad with some interesting ground rules.
*whew* That took a lot longer than I expected! I have no idea how to be concise :) Hope it wasn’t too boring!!

Compilation doodles + Name explanations for the OC kids in the YOI Future!verse ABO AU
^ Literally the above, because I thought WAY too hard about these for legit months (the twins were conceived in my mind back in DECEMBER and Arisa in January >.>;;) and I want to rant about my reasoning for all of them. :P
~~
IF YOU ARE NEW TO THIS AU: It’s Yuuri-centric polyamory in an ABO setting, Yuuri’s married to four mates (Victor, Yurio, Phichit, Minami) and the above are their kids.
BASICS of this AU
INTRO to how ABO works in this AU
OTHER POSTS (comics + illustrations) in the Future!Verse ABO section of my YOI Masterpost.
~~
Please keep ship bashing out of the comments/tags. Don’t like, just skip <3 Thank you.
~~
PLEASE DO NOT REPOST, EDIT, OR OTHERWISE USE MY ART WITHOUT MY EXPLICIT PERMISSION. More detailed rules available on my Rules & FAQ Post.
~~
DISCLAIMER: I don’t know any Russian or Thai and my info comes from not-so-trustworthy Google-sensei though I did my best to triple check from multiple sources including non-English ^ ^; I am however native and fluent in both Japanese and English and also consulted a Japanese linguist regarding my kanji choices ^ ^; If I made any mistakes please be gentle, and also understanding that this is a low-stress self-indulgent near-crack AU >.>;;;
Onwards! vvv
The twins: So one of the base premises of YOI as a series is “HEY check out this name ‘Yuri’ that works in both Russian and Japanese! Let’s have two characters from these nationalities share this name.” So it only makes sense to me that any Russian-Japanese kids they have also follow this multi-lingual pattern. I also really wanted the twins to match as much as possible because their characters are very much inseparable, sides of the same coin type kids.
Turns out finding names that work in both languages other than Yuri is pretty hard, especially when your knowledge of Russian is 0. The ones I came up with I was like AHAHAH NAH WHAT JOKE ANIME VILLAIN NAMES ARE THOSE but in the end I couldn’t find better and after calling them that for months, it’s kinda stuck >.>;
So that’s how I ended up with two names that are both nicknames in Russian, both have pretty unfortunate/evil phonetic first impressions in Japanese, and both are feminine and elegant in their Japanese kanji.
Yasha (夜紗/Яша) - I absolutely wanted this for Victor and Yuuri’s son, because apparently it’s the nickname form of “Yakov” which I mean COME ON. Unfortunately, the English approximation of the Japanese phonetic is “demon,” oopsies, not sure you want to name your kid that in rl, but it sounds cool so you may recognize it from various anime ^ ^;;; Luckily Japanese kanji can switch out meanings, so we have “night” and the second character is an uncommon feminine ending that can mean something like “silk,” but is generally just feminine and pretty.
Shura (珠羅/Шура) - Is apparently a nickname for “Aleksandr” and other variations in Russian. Unfortunately, the most obvious meaning for the sound is “carnage,” most frequently used in shuraba or “scene of carnage” in Japanese (in addition to being taken literally, this can also refer to love trouble situation, such as catching your lover cheating etc). Also sounds cool, also pretty common in anime/song titles but nooooot so great rl name LOL With the swapped out kanji, the first character is “pearl,” and the second, while different from Yasha’s, can also mean “silk” and is also a very feminine and elegant character.
Wow u two like the Free!! kids as boys with girly names
I feel like Yurio would be super excited at the prospect of naming his kids like badass anime characters “Demon” and “Carnage” and Victor would be too tickled by the bilingual options and Yuuri would just sorta cave and be like FINE OKAY but don’t turn to me when the other Japanese kids look at them weird...
ALSO, I’m aware that both are in nickname form and not the full Russian names identified above, but as the nicknames are the only ones that work in Japanese those are their official names ^ ^ Given the international nature of their family, I figure it’s fine.
Arisa (愛利咲/อริสา) - This is a common enough relatively modern name in Japanese, and I found it in enough Thai sources to think it works as a Thai name too, but I’m not entirely sure if it’s a native Thai name or a loan name from a different language and also couldn’t find a Thai meaning to it ^ ^;; But given how I’ve heard Thai nicknaming works, I was like okay it’s fine if it’s leaning towards Japanese right?? Anyway, it’s a name I genuinely love outside of bilingual potential so I was biased towards it the moment I found out it could work ^ ^;
ANYWAY, the meaning of her name based on the characters I chose (many combinations possible for this name) means “blooming love,” which I feel is super fitting for this family. ^ ^ ALSO, the middle “ri” character is not particularly cute or feminine compared to the alternatives, but is rather masculine and the choice is intentional. In Japanese, many parents (including my own), will choose to write their kids’ names using characters from their own or their family members’ names. The “ri” in Arisa is the “ri” in both Yuuri and his sister Mari’s names. This character is also actually the first one in Yuuri’s dad’s name, Toshiya (利也), yep it’s read super differently but it’s there, which absolutely makes it a family legacy thing.
Yuuji (勇次) - The most straightforward of all their names, but also given with some thought. ^ ^;; It’s an obvious combination of Yuuri (勇利) and Kenjirou (健次郎)’s names, and is a pretty normal Japanese name. I also could have gone with “Yuujirou,” but it’s a bit long, the “rou” is really masculine, and it’s also the exact sort of name that would be butchered mercilessly in international contexts (though Yuuji is also a pretty masculine name).
The first character, Yuuri’s “Yuu,” means bravery, and the second character from Minami “ji” is “next,” and is commonly given to the second son. But I feel in this context, “next bravery” also seems like a really good name to give someone who you have high hopes for continuing his parents’ legacy in the next generation.
*All of their hyphenated surnames were chosen based on their parents’ fore-knowledge that they’d be growing up in primarily international contexts. Hyphenated surnames really aren’t a thing in Japan at least and Katsuki-Minami is bizarre af but I figured anything goes if it’s all international and given how unconventional their family already is, they’re going to prioritize keeping the pattern than giving a traditional name. Katsuki is first in all of the kids surnames so the kids’ll be together alphabetically. As of the “current” time in this AU, all of the parents have retained their original surnames.

How would the mercs help out a friend with creator’s block?
okay i’m being a bit indulgent here but if y’all can’t tell, us admins have been on a serious writers’ block! xD
Scout would pester you at first, the moment he finds out you’re a writer/artist. He’d be like, “Oh yeah, I wanna see what you did, c’mon just a peek, pretty please!” Whether you say yes or no, he’d take the chance to show you his doodles and comic sketches. He’s a big fan of comic books - his artstyle reflects that. He also shows you a bunch of funny sketches of his own team - yes, they’re crass and immature, but they encourage a laugh out of you. (Especially the one where Scout drew Spy with baguettes for legs. How could you not burst out snorting at that?!) Scout would probably help you out of the block by offering to do a trade with you - he’d draw a funny comic and you draw/write something.
Soldier - “BLOCK?! What block? Don’t worry son, we’re gonna smash this dastardly block into TEENY TINY SMITHEERENS!!!” You sit him down and quickly explain the metaphor behind creator’s block, before he goes around destroying anything. He wouldn’t get it. If you wanna do something you love, just do it! insert Shia Labeouf just do it GIF here If you try to explain the troubles behind the block further, Soldier’s going to continue give nothing but simplistic advice (which actually offers a solution: to solve a block, you just gotta tackle it head on), because usually the way he handles stuff in life is hurling himself at his problems.
Pyro - You don’t have any inspiration? They have the perfect idea. B U R N THINGS TO THE G R O U N D. “What?” You say. “Pyro, nO -” They burn a building. An home for the eldery for that matter. Thank god it was being renovated and nobody was inside. Meanwhile, they think they’ve done good for you. After all, if Pyro is ever bored, fire is their muse! Note to self: don’t ask Pyro for inspiration
Heavy would be nothing but helpful and patient with your creative troubles. He’d lend you a favorite book of his, or offer walking around a museum with you to find inspiration. He’s that one friend who lets you rant about your OCs. Out of all the mercs in his team, he’ll be the most helpful and understanding with your situation. And less destructive. He wouldn’t understand, though, why you’re trying to rush your way through the block. He’d say this to you, “Take things by your own time. Create when you feel like it. Don’t force yourself.”
Demo would make a game up to help you with the block. It’s sort of like pass on the story where the players have to pick off where the other left off to tell a story. The game would begin with a writing/drawing prompt, something simple. But it’s gonna spin outta control, because you’re playing with Demo. He comes up with the wildest, over-the-top, and out of context shit. He doesn’t put any thought or filters through his parts. And soon, you learn from him to throw anything on your mind out there. You end up on the floor, wheezing and laughing. Demo tells you by the end, “Friend-o, just let yeself out there, ye hear? If ye don’t think about it and just do it, you find o-lot of mighty worthy stuff through the crap ye spout out.”
Engineer’s gonna have a hard time sympathizing or identifying with your creative troubles. He’s an engineer, a scientist in the robotics, an intellectual. Trying to understand the humanities and arts is difficult for him. He dislikes these subjects because they were the classes he struggled with in school, when he was younger. All he can really offer is saying, “Aw shucks, I’m sorry hearin’ that.” At the same time though, he feels guilty about not being able to solve a problem. That’s his thing - solving problems! So he tries giving you novels, crayons, advice books, whether you’re a writer or drawer. Engie tries helping out in an awkward dad-way - he means well, but he’s honestly clueless.
Sniper doesn’t see the point in getting all worked up or frustrated over a piece of creative work. Obviously, he sees your creations hold a world of significance to you, so he doesn’t question you out loud. Wouldn’t take the initiative to help you out, unless you ask for it. If you do ask for his help, he lets you tag along for drives in his van, walks through the wilderness, star gazing...He won’t complain if you’re groaning and moaning to yourself in absolute frustration, or if you’re being unproductive with your work. He doesn’t say anything really - but he shows he’s there to support you without any words.
Medic’s idea of getting rid of a creator’s block is simple, really. Experiment, experiment! He’d offer you (quite generously if he does say so himself) to watch him perform an experiment on some poor bloke off the street/black market/victim MannCo. provided for him. Just back down and walk away slowly... If you refuse watching an experiment, how about Medic perform an experiment on you? He can dig around through brain, poke your cortex or whatever, inject some unpronounceable chemical and - “You what, I think I’m okay now Medic, haha thanks!” You speed walk as fast as you can away from the crazy man. But hey, Medic helped you in one way! He scared you out of your creator’s block! (but at what cost lol)
Spy is amused seeing your antics and struggles at first. Your actions would range from staring off blankly at your computer screen/empty page/book, muttering madly to yourself, pacing back and forth, or screeching into the void. Eventually he gets off his smug ass to offer help. Goads you into action. He’d ask a bunch of irritating questions or make a bunch of annoying comments. ‘So you are telling me you are giving up? The world won’t miss your creations because you’re not sharing them in the first place. Ah yes, just wait around. Don’t worry, you’re just slowly aging towards death as you keep on waiting...’ You swear, you were close to throttling the french baguette asshole. So you write/draw/create something out of spite (also some of his questions/comments caused some existential crisis LOL). You were very much surprised that Spy showed some form of pride/acknowledgment when you got around to finishing your work. He cares, in his own weird and shady ways, even if he ends up insulting you in some ways.
