You started appearing ALLLLL OVER my fyp! So I decided to ask a Q, (it's not a request btw but u can draw it if it motivates you.) Ahem, I kinda wanna see some Adam angst, why? Cause.. yes. Anywho I had a random idea of like, how would luci react to seeing Adam having a breakdown about his life? I mean I assume Adam might have some self hate and might question everything that is happening in his life right? So I wonder how luci would comfort Adam in said situation. (Also I tend to be the one answering questions for people since im also a artist and idk if i should post on this app- and so this is my first time ASKING so I'm really excited!! Your arts so good keep it up!)
*rubs my little sinner hands together* HO-HO! Welcome, friend! Thank you for asking! I love Adam angst I inject it into my bloodstream every day.
At first, Adam is just fucking pissed at EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE. Lucifer especially, of course. At first, he doesn't even take responsibility, of course. I'd like to think Adam would go through the five stages of grief basically lol. He's in denial, absolutely can't believe it, thinks he'll go back to heaven any second now. He's a prick, he doesn't take anybody's help and flips everyone off, saying he doesn't need any redemption. Then he gets even more angry, like I said, especially at Luci, he's whining and kicking and blaming everyone for his destiny. Then he finally accepts either having a deal with Lucifer, or going to the hotel to try to find some communication with heaven so they can get him out of there. That doesn't work of course, so now his only option is to try and get redeemed. Oh the irony. But then, at night, when no one's looking, he just fucking stands there and thinks about everything that's happened to him. Yes, he is still angry and blames everyone else, but the thought that maybe, just maybe, this might all be his fault, is starting to creep into him. This makes him depressed to no end, but he tries to hide it from the rest of the hotel.
This is when Lucifer notices that he's going through a bad time, and yes, he scolds him some more. But also I think he'd try to get a page from his daughter's book and, begrudgingly, tries to cheer him up and encourage him to give redemption a real try (he was only half assing it until then). He tries to talk to him about the time they spent in Eden, before Lilith was even created. I like to think they had a little bit of a friendship back then, or at least, Lucifer could see some positive attributes in him from afar. He tells him that he just needs to try, and listen, and that soon, he'll understand why these sinners have formed such a tightly bonded family.
Obviously he doesn't exactly change his ways right away. It takes time, effort, a lot of patience, but he starts seeing how caring, fun and good everyone really is. He doesn't realize it, but he wants some of that too, even if he might relapse again and again.

the older i get and the closer i am to reaching 30, the more the people around me try to deny me my age. it’s a constant ‘oh you’re just turning 29 again teehee 🤭’ or ‘dont tell your SO that, he’ll leave you for a younger model 😉’ and i just???? hate it?????????
i spent my entire teenaged years fighting for my life. i crawled through the deepest pits of my depression to cling to the promise of a life beyond that pain. i was so convinced that i was going to die young, that i would never see the grace of my age starting with a 2, let alone 3.
so im going to turn 30, and there’s not a damn thing anyone can do to stop me from loving it.

GUYS HOLY SHIT
The thought hit me that if the Teal Mask's plotline takes inspiration from the tale of Momotaro, that the Indigo Disk and its plot might *also* end up pulling from another Japanese folktale, Urashima Taro.
The story is about a man who rescues a small turtle
Tumblr media
who is later carried off to a palace underneath the sea
Tumblr media Tumblr media
which had four different views in different directions (corresponding to different seasons)
Tumblr media
because the turtle he had rescued was secretly a princess in disguise (daughter of ryujin, god-emperor of the sea)
Tumblr media
who later gave Urashima a magical crystal box/container that was never supposed to be opened but would offer him protection
Tumblr media
I've seen some people be confused as to why the deity of terastralization is a turtle, but if this is the direction they're trying to go in, it suddenly makes so much more sense!

A LITERAL SHOWER THOUGHT I HAD
As I was taking a shower, my mind drifted towards Good Omens (as it tends to do these days).
It specifically drifted towards this image of Crowley leaning against heaven's elevator:
Tumblr media
I know Neil Gaiman rarely ever does anything without a reason. So why is Crowley posed similarly to Jesus on the cross? How is Crowley similar to Jesus in any way?
Then it hit me.
Well, what did Jesus do in his lifetime? He challenged the existing religious thought patterns at the time, and common opinions gradually changed.
-> While our ineffable duo was following bodysnatcher Elspeth, Aziraphale was spouting heavenly propaganda. Crowley expressed outrageous ridicule toward the angel's uncharitable attitude, and Aziraphale's opinion eventually changed.
Not only that!
God's wrath is often described as being a substance in a cup that one is forced to drink. Jesus, in the Garden of Gethsemane, begs God to "let this cup [of suffering] pass from [him]" (Matthew 26:39). Despite Jesus's pleading, he drinks from the figurative cup of God's wrath, absolving Christians of their sins.
-> When Elspeth was about to commit suicide via laudanum (in a goblet, no less!), Crowley took the cup from her and drank it himself, basically absolving Elspeth of the sin of killing herself.
It goes even further!
When Jesus finally finished drinking the cup of God's wrath, he died and presumably went to Hell.
-> What happened to Crowley when he was finished giving Elspeth hope for a new life? He got dragged down to Hell.
I may be stupid, but I think I'm onto something here!

Something I wonder about Simon and Betty's relationship is how long they were together before the whole crown ordeal. But they were engaged, you say. My aunt (in)famously met my uncle and had a ring on her finger in 8 weeks. We've seen that both Betty and Simon were both weird outcasts, crazy determined and a pinch insane. I would not be surprised if they decided they'd met their one true love and got engaged super quick.
My point being, Betty's shifting to revolve around Simon and Simon's rose colored glasses of their relationship feels very much like New Love. They're people who love each other and love being a couple but still haven't quite figured out how to coexist together, as two people in a partnership. I feel like if they'd known each other longer, lived together longer, some of the issues we're seeing would have probably self resolved.
I don't think their relationship is toxic nor is it totally perfect. It's two lonely, most likely neurodivergent people in a relatively early relationship still figuring out how it works. Everything that happened afterwards: the crown, the seperation, the time travel, the magic/madness/sadness just exemplified issues they had both as individuals and as a couple.

If there are two lines of dialogue that more perfectly encapsulate these two characters and their relationship to each other, I don't know what they are.
Even when A-Fei doesn't know anything else, in the very core of his being, he knows Li Lianhua, and he knows that he wants Li Lianhua to live.
Li Lianhua says In this world, there are many things more important than my life, and A-Fei says Not to me.
