DC Titans WIPs (November 2023)

Okay, so - I am the type of person who actually benefits from people ‘bugging’ me when it comes to my WIPs. I know a lot of authors say that they don’t like being bugged or hounded down for their work, but I am the opposite. So I have made this list of my Titans WIPs so you guys can 'bug' me into finishing some of them.

The only time this doesn’t work for me is when you’re bugging me/asking me about work from a fandom that I’m not currently working on. (aka asking me about Lessons For A Genius when I’m not currently working on Criminal Minds stuff) - but if it’s a WIP from a fandom that I am currently working on and someone is really enthusiastic about it, asking for updates, ‘bugging’ me about it, then I know that they are anticipating that work and that they look forward to me posting it, so it makes me more eager and excited to work on it, and I will actively prioritize that work over other stuff.

So, I have made this list of my Titans WIPs. Most of these are from months ago or even years ago, and this isn’t even all my WIPs from this fandom - I have just included the works that I am most excited about and most likely to finish. Realistically, do I think every single item on this list is going to get done within the next few months? No. But I hope that I can get four or five items on this list done soon, on top of editing reposts and possibly starting new ideas.

This is a really long list and realistically not everything is going to get done, but if you see something on this list that you think sounds cool, send me a message and bug me about it and it will definitely move up the list in terms of priority. I know a lot of these are untitled, so if you want to come into my inbox and talk about one, just send me the number of it or talk about the general concept, etc.

Completed Fics That Need To Be Edited:

(I am actually surprised by how many of these there are. Last time I was working on Titans stuff and lost steam, I left quite a few blurbs unedited, so look forward to these coming your way.)

First Kiss With Gar Logan - Gar Logan x Reader, Fluff, set during S2, 2k words est. - This one is described all in the title; mutual pining, mostly fluff; a short fic describing what your first kiss with Gar would be like. I know the reason I didn’t post this one! This one was intended to be part of a series called the ‘First Kiss’ series where I showed a situation of the reader (in each case, it’s a different reader character) having their first kiss with each of the Titans characters; very random and funsies, and I am probably going to continue this as a series like intended if people like this one EDIT - NOW POSTED

EDIT: now titled Miss Nectarine - Untitled Donna Smut Blurb - Donna Troy x Fem!Thick!Reader (Plus Sized Reader), Smut/PWP, set during S2 (Titans ‘return home’ era), 2k words est. - This one involves the ‘caught masturbating’ trope (one of my ult favs); Donna walks in and sees you touching yourself, and with your gorgeous curvy body revealed to her, she can’t hold back anymore. The reason I didn’t post this one is because I thought it was crappy and I was too tired to edit the issues out of it, and now that I have come back to it, I am excited about the concept and the bones of it and I am lot more excited and energetic to edit the issues out of (I feel like this could be 4k or 5k with editing because I really love the ideas behind it). I have definitely not written enough Donna smut and there needs to be more in my catalog. NOW POSTED

Great Dick, Sweet Personality - Gar Logan x Male Reader, Smut/PWP, set during S2, 3k est. - This one involves the ‘accidentally sent you my nude’ trope; you are trying on lingerie in your room for your own enjoyment and snapping pictures of yourself cause it feels good, and then you accidentally send one of them to Gar; you freak out and demand that he delete the picture, and you find out that he likes them, rather than mocking you for wearing the girly underwear, and then smutty smut (Gar is a bi king, I love writing him with a male reader)

Main WIPs

A lot of these have a good chunk of the fic written and need to be finished, and some of them are just an outline of what the fic would be. I have put them in the order of what I am most excited about, and like I said - if you guys get really excited about something, it will be moved up the list. (Though I don’t think this list will actually be edited to reflect that, it will just be moved up the list in my mind, or put on the ‘coming soon’ section of my pinned post to reflect that I am prioritizing it.)

Snowed In - Gar Logan x Fem!Reader x Jason Todd, Smut/Emotional Angst/Ending Fluff, set during S2 (AU version of the S2 ending), 1k words so far, 15% done so far, 10k est when finished - This is a Christmas themed fic; it will include a different ending for S2, so all the Titans are living at Titans Tower and operating out of San Francisco; however, everyone is going to different places for the holidays, and Jason, the reader, and Gar, are all dreading ‘going home’ for Christmas, so they are putting off leaving for as long as possible, and this gets them stuck in the Tower during a massive snowstorm; when the Tower’s generators run out of power, they are forced to snuggle together for warmth, and thing leads to another - threesome smut, confessions of feelings, and also, them chatting and explaining they didn’t want to leave leads to a lot of emotional catharsis; I rarely do holiday themed fics because I can never get them posted ‘on time’ but maybe I can actually do a Christmas fic this year??

Detective Grayson and The White Rabbit - Dick Grayson x Fem!Villain!Reader, Smut (with the barest amount of plot), technically doesn’t take place in the Titans!verse (but definitely inspired by Brenton Thwaites version of Dick), 3k words so far, 40% ish done so far, 7k est when finished - you are a famous masked villain in Gotham (a thief known as the White Rabbit) and you have an attraction to Nightwing, particularly because of his very famous ass, and one night, when you are arrested by Dick Grayson (disappointed that Nightwing didn’t show up to the ‘party’ that you set up just for him), you recognize that ass waltzing away from you, and you call out Detective Grayson; and in order to keep his secret identity a secret, you ask for one thing in return (to get fucked by the birdie vigilante that you have desired for so long). This is actually a kind of cracky idea that came up from a conversation between me and Star, and I loved it so much that I ran with it. Long live Nightwing’s royal ass

A Knife Called Lust (The Sex Pollen Fic) - Gar Logan x Fem!Reader x Jason Todd, Angst and Smut, set during Season 3, 12k words so far, 30% done so far, it’ll probably be over 40k when it’s done (and it was originally intended to be a oneshot, but I think it would work better as a 3-shot); this one actually won a poll on my old blog, and then I girl-failed to actually get it done lmao; you are Jason’s childhood friend, and when he dies, you fall into Gar’s arms, and then the two of you find out Jason is alive (and Jason harshly rejects any attempts you make to get him to come home); and when Gar is hit by a mysterious chemical made by Crane, you go to Jason for help (it was sex pollen and a threesome ensues)

Untitled Gar Smut (The Face Sitting Fic) - Gar Logan x Fem!Reader, Smut (the barest amount of plot), set during S2, 3k words so far, 50% done, 6k or 7k est when finished - This is based on a request I received on my old blog; Gar and the reader are sparring, and the reader wraps her legs around Gar to take him down, and this ends with her accidentally ‘sitting’ on his head; he loves the feeling, and asks her to do it again - this time, without pants on (very simple and smutty, cheers)

Untitled Donna Fic (The Rage Chemical Fic) - Donna Troy x Fem!Kryptonian!Reader, Angst, set during the flashback era of S2, mostly just an outline atm - this is based off a request from my old blog; you are dosed with a chemical that Cadmus is working on (in the hopes of using it on Superman) and you end up in a blind rage; Donna, your lover, is the only one strong enough to fight you and inject you with the antidote (there is some angst where you try to kill Donna and she uses her calm, loving words to temporarily stop the rage) (this is structured like an episode of Titans, set during the OG Titans era)

Untitled JayGar fic (The Mockingbird Fic) - Gar Logan x Fem!Reader x Jason Todd, Hurt and Comfort, slight AU of Season 3, mostly just an outline - this is mostly inspired by the tiktok edit(s) of Jason and Gar, comparing their two styles of love, with the song lyrics ‘Daddy’s gonna but you a mockingbird, I’ll give you the world’ for Gar and ‘I’ll break that birdie’s neck’ for Jason; while the Titans are working in Gotham, several bomb threats are received; you, Jason, and Gar are at one location checking out one of these threats and someone sneaks up on you and sexually assaults you; Jason beats the man to death while Gar holds you and shields your eyes (showing how they care for you both differently but in ways that protect you)

Untitled Donna Fic (The Death Fic) - Donna Troy x Fem!Reader, Angst and Smut, slight AU of Season 2, mostly just an outline - you and Donna are dating and in love and she gets shot by Deathstroke and dies (a much cooler death than dying from a carnival ride); she gives you her lasso as a last sign of her love, and when she somehow miraculously comes back to life, she comes back to you to get it (and to fuck you brainless to prove that she’s real when you think that she’s just a hallucination). I came up with this idea before I saw Season 3, and it was inspired by gifs of the scenes of Donna being in the forest after she had come back to life

Dick Confronts Your Abuser (not yet titled) - Dick Grayson x Fem!Reader, Hurt and Comfort, set during Season 3, 2k so far, 10k est when finished - this is similar to the fics I have already written for Abby and Ellie (and I would definitely be willing to write this prompt for other Titans characters, because it’s very close to my heart); what it says on the tin; you are in an unhappy, abusive relationship and when Dick finds out, he beats the shit out of the guy (Dick is also your ex and pining to get you back)

Untitled Enemies to Lovers Fic - Dick Grayson x Fem!Powered!Reader, Smut, set during Season 2, mostly just an outline - you are the daughter of Barry Allen/The Flash, and you have the power to slow down or speed up time around you; you have been an annoyance in Dick’s life since childhood, often using your powers to mock him and pull pranks on him; after the incident where he accidentally lets Doctor Light go, you continue mocking him, and the annoyance flares its head into attraction, and the two of you end up fucking on the mats in the training room (and you end up using your powers for good for once - making his orgasm longer and more satisfying than he ever could have thought) (I really love this idea and idk why lmao)

Sequel Ideas:

(A lot of my fics could have sequels, and a lot of people have asked for certain fics to have sequels, but these are the fics I have thought about continuing the most and fics that I am the most excited about giving a sequel to.)

Emergency Contact (sequel would be called The Jaws of Life) - Jason Todd x GN!Reader, Angst and Smut, set during season 3; this would be a reunion between Jason and the reader after Jason dies and comes back to life (reunion sex)

Free Use Day (sequel would be called Shibari Whore) - Poly!OG Titans x Fem!Reader, smut, set during the flashback era; this would be a fic about Dick discovering his desire to be submissive; Dick becomes a rope bunny, and during their next play session, Dick is submissive and ‘used’ alongside the reader

Missing You - Gar Logan x Fem!Reader x Jason Todd, Smut, set outside of the canon; I am thinking about a sequel and maybe even a third part to this, where Jason and the reader have phone sex with Gar now that they know he’s listening (and a part where they have sex with him in person)

Now You See Me - Gar Logan x Male Reader, Angst, set during Season 3; I actually really love this fic so much and I’d love to write a sequel for it; with the Titans living in Gotham, a place that was once your home, when Hank gets into trouble with the bomb in his chest, you dive into your dark past in order to help him, and call in someone unexpected, but capable to help save Hank’s life - your father, Viktor Freeze

I think that they're watching various shows and Christmas movies. But I also think that they're watching their usual things.

This is actually so interesting : https://www.beautifulwithbrains.com/beauty-history-cosmetics-in-the-edwardian-era/. So he had Concoctions and creams with Cocoa Butter, Coconut Oil, Almond Oil, Lanolin, Petrolatum, Witch Hazel and Glycerin.

Matthew is a Tumblrina and you can pry that from my cold dead hands. But also probably TikTok and Instagram, because he can't stay away from the travel videos for long. He has a whole IG page to his travels (@/wilde-wanderer, of course). And he has tons of followers who love the aesthetic landscapes and dog pictures. Thomas is a Duolingo boy - languages? Owls? Definitely, and that's most of what he does on his phone. But he does have a Twitter account to share his scores to, and he competes with Alastair to try to get ahead of the other one in their target languages. Thomas also uses his Twitter to follow accounts in Spain and language learning accounts. Alastair hits it big on YouTube because Thomas encourages him to showcase his piano. So he has many followers. It's really amazing for him, and he posts new things frequently. Kind of like VSQ, but solo piano.

Street smart is Matthew because he has all walks of life experience. Like this dude woke up wrapped in the Union Jack one night when he was drunk (Waterstones edition bonus letter). He could get by in back alley deals and make his way thrugh the world. Book smart is Alastair because he grows up lonely and reads a lot, and also he has a natural curiousity for life and the world around him. Thomas is emotionally smart, he sees minute details in people and can tell what they need so they can feel better.

Thomas likes to make cinnamon bread. Alastair likes to sing and play carols. Matthew likes to decorate and make beautiful.

ALASTAIR CHORES: cleaning the counters, cleaning the floors (he is a very cleanly man and just does these things), cooking dinner for both THOMAS CHORES: laundry, organizing (can reach tall cabinets), cooking breakfast for both. both characters do dishes

I think both are equally prone to bouts of sadness. I think Thomas will be more prone then Alastair to bouts sadness for a while, first, because of terrible grief over his family members. Alastair will still be in that "thank God I can breathe" phase but not in te "oh god how can I breathe i have to learn" phase, which will come in time and be the worst bit. But I think that Alastair has a shitmine of trauma to process and it will be incredibly emotional journey for probably the rest of his life, so he will be the most prone in the long run. Both of them are of course there for each other, I think that they hold each other and they talk about what the grief is and they comfort each other and they feel acceptance and support for one of the first times ever. I love them.

Thomas and Alastair, right? Yeah lol I wrote in my fic they spent a long time together alone and then they had their friends over and they wanted to get rid of everyone and be alone together again. I think they're, like, each other's favourite person. I think they are like being in a partnership. in all things. Like , if Alastair does something wrong, Thomas still has his back. And if Thomas does something recless, Alastair is not mad with him but he is worried for his safety. Anyway, I'm higher than I want to be. This is not the question. I think that thomas makes Alastair a lot of Persian food when he wants to, but he is kind of not a naturally amazing cook so he has to be taught by Alastair. Alastair shows him though and it is fun and romantic and bonding experience. I think Alastair makes for Thomas handmade trifle. It is his favorite dessert. Also salads without a hint of celery.

Zone Fighter Thoughts #01: "Destroy the Terror-Beast Missile!"

Hey all, welcome to rainofkaiju! A place where I plan to make semi regular posts of my toy photography, fan fiction and reviews/ musings of kaiju related media.

To start, I decided to make my first entry about an often forgotten about character: Zone Fighter, the Meteor Man.

Debuting in 1973 (after Godzilla Vs Megalon), it was Toho's attempt at capitalizing on the Ultraman phenomenon. Needless to say, it didn't catch on. There's plenty of other places 'round the web that offer more information, so I'll keep the intro short!

Im going to review/ react to each of the 26 episodes of this series. 2023 is his 50th anniversary afterall. And, I've never seen it. Alas, it will be in an order of my own preference, not exactly chronological.

It's an open secret that Toho included a few marquee names alongside the titular hero. Those being Gigan, King Ghidorah and of course, Godzilla! We'll cover the Zone Fighter solo episodes first, then the guest-starring ones last, leaving off on an epic note.

Join me on this journey as we get to witness a forgotten hero in his fansubbed glory, and hopefully convince Toho to bring him back. (Instead of just a Keychain. Lol.)

Let us begin!

We hear Godzilla in the first like 10 seconds! Albeit for the wrong monster... he uses Kong's later.

Awesome theme song, and a great moody score to boot.

An interesting concept of an alien refugee family saving the world in secret.

Some great Kamen Rider esque fight choreography in the human battles. Really digging Hikaru's moves.

This brings us the debut of....

"CANNON TERROR-BEAST" Red Spark!

And, well... meh. Sparkler noodle hands sadly aren't very impressive.

Cool night fight tho.

Zone Fighter himself is pretty neat. Also, a tad creepy with his lit-up eyes in the dark.

But, that's not all! We get the other monster in the episode...

"MAGNETIC TERROR-BEAST" Jikiro!

Now this is a cool kaiju. Unique mecha design, and certainly more memorable than Red Spark. Still doesn't stand a chance against Zone Fighter's Meteor Missiles however.

My fav bit in this entire episode was when Jikiro uses his magnetic pincer to grab hold of a commercial plane. Really good editing, very suspenseful the way the passengers are saved in the last second, as the plane gets yeeted into the night by Zone Fighter.

Never have I seen such a toyetic series shown in such a short amount of time. Jam-packed in 20 minutes. Space stations, spaceships, henshin devices, two kaiju, multiple transforming heroes, a flying fucking car, and the best ever:

ZOBOT!!!

a communicator, drone, weapon, this little guy can do it all. Must've been the coolest shit for kids in the 70's.

All in all, a fantastic start IMHO. One of the most entertaining first episodes from the showa Era of tokusatsu.

Yellow Sky Revolt Review

Tipped off by @sunfin3k this might be worth a try, grabbed kindle edition (for less then £3 so thanks for that price).

Baptiste Pinson Wu (who can be found on twitter and 3k communities) has taken a concept people often discuss for a game or other media. Life via the eyes of Liao Hua, Turban who lives to see the fall of Shu-Han, but actually did it. Being book one, this covers the beginning (the title may be a bit of a clue) but from a farmer's boy rather then a yet grand figure.

Wu has drawn upon a mix of sources, history, novel (with a leaning towards the novel), TV shows for his characters (he explains this well in his author notes) and managed to keep it cohesive. So you will get nods to both historical characters and novel figure (also a lot of Turbans), including new figures for Liao Hua's circle while reflecting them from a young Liao Hua's view. When making a choice of how one would write a character, such choices won't please everybody all the time but we all have different angles of how we portray someone and there are certainly fun nods for those who know the era.

I had fun and I do look forward to reading the next book. Deeper thoughts below (no spoilers)

The writing style is easy to read and he aims to be accessible, smoothly inserting explanations, but, perhaps in a bid to touch upon the culture of his wife, the use of the odd little Chinese (pinyin) word is possibly not a great idea for first timers? Not without a small glossary for it? He doesn't overdo it and usually (either via a line that follows or context) easy to understand but I do wonder if that might put one or two off.

Each character gets a brief appearance description while avoids the issue some have with the romance of throwing so many names at people. Figures gradually come into Liao Hua's life and only need to focus on a set few at a time, those he focuses on do make an impact as they are built up over their time with Liao Hua.

Humour aims for the boyish humour that people of Liao Hua's age would go for and ones aimed over his head (my fav bit involved Zhang Fei's memorable entrance). Goes for a sometimes harsh world with corporal punishment at the ready but bar one scene, didn't think he overdid it.

Liao Hua in this is both the elderly defeated general, looking back over his life and able to use that to help inform the narration, and Liao Hua the youth who is on a distant farm and is young, with so much to learn. A kid, unaware of so much and treated like one by those around him. Wu manages to knit together that balance well of the old head and the youngster.

I really admire how Liao Hua doesn't have major knowledge of things he shouldn't. No "and he knows the eunuchs are evil" or "woe, the Han court is evil and uncaring", more it is a distant entity most of the time and what he picks up are rumours or talk that may or may not be 100% accurate.

On the balance between "you want Liao Hua to be central enough to the story" (ie seeing events, interacting with figures) vs "avoiding being the special one", I think Wu keeps that balance. One situation I thought might go potentially too much towards the special one avoided that trap.

Book is split into two parts. First part I loved, the farm, the distance, the youthfulness vs the world, why Liao Hua became interested in the Turbans, the people he met, his being drawn into something bigger. I was a big fan of how the issue of magic was handled. It faded for me near the end when it came to a bit close to the novel, the build up to the scene was good but despite playing it from a different perspective, didn't quite land the moment, and the transition to part 2 was not the most exciting.

On paper I wasn't sure what I would feel about phase 2 initially when I saw the direction but soon found my attention fully engaged again. I don't think I can speak about what I enjoyed without spoiling it but felt that it was well pulled off involving figures I'm fond of. Got to see Liao Hua grow both during moments of peace then as danger reasserts (well done sense of the world changing) and an enjoyably teasing way to end.

When I started shipping them:

Back when I first read the manga, when I reached chapters 111 to 113. Man, I was hooked. Their young selves did something irreversible to me lmao, and then Uta hit me with the old tattoo meaning and I was Gone.

It was in 2014, iirc. I started TG when it was over but before :re was published (by the time i was finished, :re was 7 chapters in, very precisely xD i remember bc it's the chapter Nishiki calls Haise Kaneki)

My thoughts:

I've talked about this extensively in the past but yeah their friendship is insanely important to me. The way they go on about "you're my friend" it makes me bonkers. They are the definition of what relationships should be, in my book. Friendship first and foremost and above all, for better or worse. They are The QPP™. Absolutely legendary. First ship to make me so gone. I often say Percabeth was my first OTP but nothing consumed me quite like Utaren did before they did. They're my OTQP? I guess? xD

What makes me happy about them:

Yeah, their friendship. How ride or die they are about each other. Able to rip each other to shreds but will also risk their lives to save the other. How accepting Renji is of Uta's clownship (before it threatens Touka lmao). The unconditional love. The brutality of it.

What makes me sad about them:

"Nec possum tecum uiuere nec sine te". doesn't make me sad per se but ouch anyway. The abandonment Uta felt when Renji left. The intricate knowledge Uta has that he can't be by his side but they can't be apart either - to the point of getting it tattooed. On his fucking neck.

Help.

Things done in fanfic that annoys me:

Making it sexual. I don't read much TG fanfics these days (or at least not new ones. i reread my favs instead) so idk what's the trend regarding them but back then I never liked them smut. Feels unnatural.

Also once I read a fic in which one said "ily" to the other (they were in a relationship already) and the other got up and left and they broke up??? What's up with that. I genuinely don't get why saying ily to your boyfriend would make him leave?? isn't that why you're dating?? Anyway.

Things I look for in fanfic:

4th ward era. "graphic depiction of violence" is always welcome.

How I feel about this character:

I feel too many things in too much quantity. I feel love, I feel grief, I feel protectiveness, I feel something sink in my stomach and something lift me in the sky. He is my most beloved, my husband, the light of my days. He makes me smile, he makes me oh so happy and he's one of the reasons I cry at night. He is everything to me.

Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character:

Langa, of course. Kiriko, also and also of course. Both in the EDEN and Adakiri/LoveMantis way and in the EDENMantis way uwu

My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character:

With Tadashi, kink dom/sub relationship, with deep deep devotion on Tadashi's side and slowly recovering trust and friendship.

My unpopular opinion about this character:

Depends on unpopular where. If it's in the entire western sk8 fandom, the unpopular opinion would be ADAM is absolutely amazing both character-wise and person-wise. He's the best and he deserves so much love.

If we're talking ADAM fandom, it would be that He Is Not A Slut. He is the very opposite of that.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:

I wish Cherry would apologize to him. I wish he'd managed to kill Reki. I wish we would know more of his past, especially regarding Kiriko. That's three things. Who cares.

Favorite friendship for this character:

With Tadashi, as kids. With Joe and Cherry, as teens. With Langa (and with Kiriko in my dreams), as adults.

My crossover ship:

With Matsuri (TG). I don't exactly ship it and it wouldn't work anyway because they're both doms but it's fun thinking about them meeting and becoming friends.

ok some more thoughts on the eps (under read more cos of potential spoilers lol)

starting with the slightly more negative stuff so i can end with the things i like lol

there was a lot of over explaining of some basic who things, which i didnt mind that much considering they were being told to ruby, but but it did definitely feel like 'rtd is trying to introduce this to a new audience so he's kinda spoon feeding them everything' which is a lil frustrating as a long time fan lol...

on a similar note some of the flashback things in space babies were completely unnecessary given they were from the literal same episode pfft... like at least in the 2nd one they used flashbacks as voice overs which worked a lil better, but i'd still rather they just relied on the audience to understand the call backs without having to SHOW them u know?

the cgi babies mouths were weird, i didnt like them... i also wasnt the biggest fan of the music notes as tentacle like things coming from maestro... surprised i havent seen anyone complain about this given how vocal some of y'all were about the use of cgi in chibnall's era....... hmm

speaking of, i think some of the pacing issues in chibnall's era have stuck around a bit because that 2nd episode esp started off really well but then fizzled out in the middle, and the resolution went on for waaaay too long lol (also after maestro said that in ordered to defeat them they needed a musical genius, i kinda assumed the doctor and ruby would turn to eachother like 'hmm who could we go to who's a musical genius in 1963...' and then it cuts to john and paul wondering around the studio or smth... like idk there wasnt much connecting tissue between the sections, it just hung around on the kinda boring 'music battle' between the doctor and maestro... and like i get theyre trying to make ncuti's doctor more of an action-y style hero, but that felt too much like the battle with the toymaker.... also yes maybe i'm also mad there werent more scenes with the beatles in them SUE me lol! like literally most other episode (think of the van gogh one) the feature figures from history, theyre the main focus of the episode so it kinda sucked they were barely there :///////)

the musical number at the end of that ep wasnt my fav i'll be honest.... like it was fine, but in the xmas ep it made sense to have a fun musical number and it worked with the rest of the ep, but this one just felt like 'well the story's over ... but we still have 5 minutes left to fill so random song and dance number!'

final thing that i didnt love was (and bear in mind i know nothing about filmmaking lol) that some of the shots and edits felt a bit off? or didnt feel like they worked in a scene or just could have done with a retake from a different angle ... like especially some of the maestro scenes, like the performance was so good but the camera didnt seem to really be working with them very well? and in general some of the conversation scenes had the vibe of what you see in theatre lol? like where characters talk to each other via looking out at the audience lol... and like i dont mind that kinda theatrical way of producing scenes usually, but in moments when it's an intimate conversation between two characters, it did feel a tad weird lol...

edit: another thing i didnt mention but i did recently see a post talking about this, but i did think it was odd that most of the beatles ep is set in the 60s but it doesnt actually discuss the doctor being a black man in what was a very tough time to be non-white lol... like not only does the beatles music directly come FROM being influenced by black artists in america (smth they even discussed lol), but a part of the episode is about how important music is to humanity, and nothing shows that more than the way music the african slaves' sang whilst on plantations was adapted into blues/jazz and then later into rock n roll/pop... like music was an act of keeping a part of their humanity alive when they were being brutally dehumanised... (and like in part i get why rtd didn't go into this, as he hasn't the best history of dealing with black characters... but it WAS a notable absence and does kinda tell me the doctor being black isnt going to play into anything, which sucks, since chibnall did at least make it so the doctor being a woman DID massively alter the way she was seen... i might make another post about this lol)

ok things i liked!

nan-e was seriously great (cant remember what the actress is called but she does such a great job!!!! in a way i'd love for her to show up again she's such a fab character lol)

the whole resolution of the space babies ep was really great tbh! also the reveal the bogeyman is actually made of bogeys was legit really funny lol! even the fart at the end like yeh it's childish but who doesnt love a fart joke lol?

ncuti is great at acting all suave and confident one minute only to be on the verge of breaking down the next, aka the literal epitome of the doctor lol! also love his relationship w/ ruby ofc

ruby was great too! tho atm idk if we've really gotten a true grasp of who she is as a character u know? atm it does feel a lil like the whole clara mystery thing where her character comes 2nd, but i'm sure as the series goes along we're gonna get more lol

loved that cilla black was in the devil's chord ep!! that's it tbh just loved that

also loved that the doctor mentioned his family this early on, specifically susan! i do kinda wish they had used a flashback sequence when he was talking about the genocide cos i kept thinking 'wait... is this the time war or is this what happened w/ the master at the end of the (???cant remember the number.... 12th?) series??' which was several years ago and would have been great to refresh our memories on.. also meant we could potentially have seen jodie again lol!

i saw someone on .... somewhere complain about the 4th wall breaking but i actually really liked it lol! especially the non-diegetic comment! idk if i want every episode to have that, but i enjoyed it in that one! one thing about rtd's first era that i appreciate is that he experimented a lot with the format of each episode... which meant we got things like love & monsters, which like,yeh, it's..... An Episode for sure, but i appreciate that it's told from a different perspective! so in a way it feels like he's doing that kinda thing again, where each episode feels connected but still distinct from one another, if that makes any sense??

i liked the fake beatles song about the dog lol... partly because it didnt even sound that far off of something they wouldve written on a later album (by paul) pfft... kinda sucks they didnt buy the rights to at least one actual beatles song, even just to play a few secs of it lol...

overall, neither episode blew me away, but they weren't terrible either lol... i'm also shocked how similar this series is to chibnall's era, which is why it's so bizarre to me that people continue to be like 'oh doctor who is finally back!' like bitch for one it never went away lol!??! and for two, a lot of issues people had with chibnall's (and to some extent moffat's) era are still there, but now cos it's headed by rtd again people arent complaining about them the same way they did before... idkkkkk

i've also already talked about this, but i do still think the releasing at midnight thing is fucking dumb, especially for us british fans! i get that maybe that's a stipulation from disney but it doesnt mean i have to like it... also didnt like that 2 episodes were released at once like ???? why lol idkk

i'm still looking forward to the rest of the series ofc!

Hello everyone! As promised in my last post I made prior to the premiere of the 1st episode of the new Futurama revival, I have decided to share some of my favorite screenshots I took since watching it myself~ That said, I have seen some of these scenes already shared but I still wanted to post all of what I had taken in one place for myself just for fun, so if you see something in this post that you’ve already seen 1000 times by this point feel free to ignore lol

Tbh I’ve never tried live blogging anything before, let alone tried to edit and share screenshots I didn’t plan on keeping for myself, so I hope these turned out okay! I did my best to clean them up and crop to what I wanted, so if they don’t show up well I apologize in advance ^^;

Otherwise, if you’re interested in reading past this point, I hope you enjoy what I have to share as well as what little commentary I have to accompany my pictures :3

Okay, so just to get this out of the way first and foremost, while I have seen mixed reviews in regards to the first episode, imo I honestly thought it was pretty good! A lot of the jokes definitely landed and even had me laughing out loud, and with the easter eggs scattered throughout combined with seeing all of these characters once again, I couldn’t stop smiling at several points just because I was so happy lol

That said, while I wouldn’t say this is up there as one of my fav episodes of all time in the series overall, I say it definitely did what it set out to accomplish as far as bringing the series back after 10 years off the air in terms of animation, voice acting, etc. So to anyone that felt as if The Impossible Stream was a let down, I would recommend giving it a few episodes into the new season before coming to a solid conclusion on whether the revival lives up to the hype or not/forming a firm opinion on the new season as a whole. Again, as far as plots are concerned, this episode isn’t anywhere in my top 10 list, but at the same time, it was pretty good and served as a nice welcome back to long time fans since 2013 when Meanwhile aired, so I want to believe things will only get better from here~

Any who, with all of that out of the way, on to the screenshots:

1. First, Idk if this has been pointed out already, but since I haven’t seen anyone else post this, I thought I’d do it myself~ I honestly thought this was pretty cute lol, and considering that the new season is on a streaming service as opposed to tv (meaning that they most likely can have both the OP and ED be as long as they want without it being cut off by ad time), I hope they include new stuff like this in the OP in addition to the cartoons being displayed on the jumbo tv Leela always crashes into again :)

2. This scene right here was too cute for me~ I love these two so much, and I’m so happy to see them again :3 They just want each other to be happy, and it’s precious :3

Also Fry looks so adorable here (´◡`) Look at him!

3. I know this scene speaks for itself, but still enjoy this quote none the less :3

4. If I had a nickle for every time one of my special interests was cancelled because of corporate incompetence/bad judgement, I’d have at least 2 but it’s weird it happened twice - let alone that it happened to two shows that technically aired on the same block (I.E. adult swim, Metalocalypse I’m looking at you :( ).

And yes, I know this is prob a jab at streaming services like Netflix but I think my point still stands, you know? I wish things were different but...

5. Hey, at least we’re getting Futurama AND Metalocalypse back this year, right? I guess that’s a small victory, at least for me? Idk, the fact both these series ended back in 2013 just to be revived in the ye old year of 2023 seems like fate to me tbh, so if the latter’s direct-to-dvd film does well, here’s hoping it can get picked up on Hulu alongside Futurama so I can get back into my high school era~ In the meantime, have this which reminded me of the revival campaigns I have seen over the years dedicated to bringing these 2 wonderful shows back:

6. I figured we’d see Calculon come back sooner or later, but I sure as hell wasn’t expecting him to return like this in the first episode no less XD That said, I’m not a huge fan of either him or the Robot Devil, but this scene was gold~

And last but not least:

Once I learn how to make good quality GIFS, this is the first scene I’m uploading as a GIF ｡^‿^｡

7. Oh! Speaking of Calculon, over these past 15+ years of my life, I had always figured he was either Bi or Pan, so alongside my ship with him and Bender potentially being given more fuel, it was nice to see the writers had the same idea :3 In this house we stan a Bi and/or Pan Calculon~

And let’s not forget about this:

Idk man, I think I might reconsider my Calculon dislike if this continues O////O Never thought I’d say that after reaching my 20s but ye, this was pretty good

Also, this scene was another gem in my opinion:

Bender x Fry x Leela parallels aside, it’s always nice to see this as a multi shipper~ Keep in mind, as well, that this was originally also written BY BENDER HIMSELF, so ye, a lot to talk about another day

8. I almost choked on my drink watching this lol Looks like the old man yaoi group of Farnsworth, Hermes, and Zoidberg has trouble in paradise (this is a JOKE, pls don’t take this seriously!)

His face is priceless XD

9. Finally, I know this last scene was prob meant to be a tongue-in-cheek joke about both reboots and the writers, but at the same time all I could think of was that one quote from Fry in When Aliens Attack when Leela asked him about his script writing? Idk if it was mean to be a call back to this scene too, but was I the only one reminded of this during the end? Also, Bender sure is one to call the kettle black XD

i literally can’t begin to wrap my mind around having 400 followers on this blog. like, that’s nuts to me.

wait, what? 450 beautiful humans follow me?! WHAT? like, i’m having a hard time wrapping my mind around it.

y’all know the drill by now. we’re gonna do a follower celebration. it’s gonna run from tonight, march 9, 2021 until sunday, march 14, 2021.

i do these to celebrate all of you. these aren’t for me, there for you. and i’m gonna make a vow right here, right now ; i promise to try and set aside monday’s to edit and schedule each chapter of yabmh. i know some of y’all absolutely love it, and i loved writing it, so that’s my vow to y’all. i’ve been slacking and it’s made me feel incredibly bad. i enjoy reading all of y’all’s sweet, sweet words for each chapter.

This was also one of the requests that was sent a while ago that I’m just now getting around to. This is my second Thomas piece that I hope y’all will enjoy. My first one, What Do You Want Me To Say, has been getting some love lately, so hopefully this one gets as much, lol. As always, read at your own risk and enjoy 😊

Thomas hadn’t slept. Thomas hadn’t eaten. That much I could tell just from standing a few feet away.

Exhaustion and hunger were both taking over us, both in different ways. Him; because he was worried about me. And me? Because I had been running for my life. He seemed a little shocked to see me standing at the table with Brenda, Frypan and Jorge when he, Newt and Gally came back from whatever it was they were up to, but it seemed like there was a more serious topic of conversation he had on his mind that didn’t involve me.

I watched as he was facing a wall, contemplating something before he turned back around, saying, “No. There’s gotta be another way.”

Either I wasn’t paying attention or I missed the conversation they had beforehand because what he just said confused the hell out of me.

“Like, what? You’ve seen the building,” Gally said. “She is our only way in.”

“You really think she’s gonna help us?” Thomas asked.

I looked at Newt, who had this almost pissed off, far off look on his face as Gally answered Thomas with, “I don’t plan on asking for her permission.”

Looking away from Newt to Brenda, I whispered, “Am I missing something here?” She put her hand in front of me and lightly tapped the table twice before saying, “This is the same girl that betrayed us, correct? Same dick?”

Pointing his thumb to Brenda, Gally said, “I like her.”

I looked at Gally and snickered a little before I saw Thomas look at me from the corner of my eye, hands on his hips and looking very unamused. I looked at him, concerned look on my face before I asked, “Tommy, what’s going on?”

Not giving me an answer or thinking about giving me one, Thomas looked at me for a second before looking at a spot in front of me.

“What, are you afraid your little girlfriend’s gonna get hurt? Hmm?” Newt asked.

Well, that attitude came way out of left field.

Thomas looked up from the spot in front of me to my own eyes before he moved them over to Newt’s.

After a second of staring at each other, Newt continued with his interrogation. “Because this has obviously never been just about rescuing Minho. Has it?”

“Wait, hold on,” I said, wanting some answers. “Can someone please tell me who the hell he’s talking about ‘cause I’ve obviously missed something here.”

Giving me a soft but firm look, Newt said, “Teresa,” before looking back at Thomas.

Well, that fucking made sense to me now.

“She’s the only reason that Minho’s even missing in the first place,” Newt continued. “Now we finally have an opportunity to get him back, and what? You don’t want to because of her? Because deep down inside, you still care about her, don’t you? Just admit it.”

I felt Brenda’s hand on top of mine as Newt was saying all this, and as Thomas gave his reply of, “Newt, I--”

Shoving Thomas against the wall behind, Newt yelled, “Don’t lie to me! Don’t.. Lie.. to.. me!”

I could only look down at this point. I mean, I knew Thomas cared deeply for Teresa, but I didn’t know how deep it actually went. Looking back up as Newt whispered, “Sorry,” to Thomas, he turned around soon after looking at all of us before finally locking his eyes with mine. “I’m sorry.”

Watching as he walked off holding his right arm, I quickly ran behind Brenda and Gally to follow Newt outside. Once I found him sitting on the edge of the roof, I walked over to him and stood there for a second.

“Mind if I sit down or are you gonna freak out on me if I do?” I asked.

He chuckled and patted the concrete next to him before I sat down and looked at his profile.

“What’s going on, Newt?” My eyes danced around his face for a moment before I spoke up again. “Before Thomas came into the Maze, I was your best friend. Talk to me.”

He sighed before looking at me, saying, “Sorry for that. Back there.”

“It’s okay,” I replied, putting my hand on his knee.

Looking behind us, he sighed. So, being the nosy person that I am, I too turned and looked to see who was standing behind us; Thomas.

I watched as Newt looked back down at his arm for a second before saying, “Guess I can’t hide this anymore.” He pulled up his jacket sleeve, revealing the angry dark red and black veins that we all know associates with Cranks.

Tears immediately filled my eyes as Thomas said, “Why didn’t you tell me?”

“Didn’t think it would make any difference,” Newt replied.

“Wouldn’t make any difference?” I whispered. “Newt--”

“All I know,” he interrupted. “Is that WCKD must’ve put me in that Maze for a reason.”

“And what reason would that be? Hmm?”

“Maybe it was literally just so they could tell the difference between immunes like you and Thomas, and people like me.”

After a second of Newt looking back at Thomas, said aforementioned boy spoke up. “You know we can still fix this, Newt. Okay? We can.”

Scoffing with tears streaming down my cheeks, I turned as best I could to face Thomas, asking, “Can we? Are you 100 percent sure about that, Thomas?”

“Y/N/N, don’t worry about me,” Newt said, gaining my attention again. “This is about Minho. Now he needs us.”

I knew he was talking to both Thomas and I at his point, but his eyes were still glued to mine as he continued his statement. “So, if there’s even the slightest chance that we can save him, we can get him out of there, then we have to take that. No matter what the cost.”

“Okay,” Thomas said, voice soft. “I hear you.”

Because of the fact that I couldn’t believe what I was hearing, I stood up and took a few steps behind Thomas before I turned around and said, “Well, I don’t hear you. I’m not losing the first best friend I ever remember making to the death sentence they call the Flare.”

Thomas stood up and turned to face me. “Y/N, we’re going to save both of them--”

“Or what? Die trying?” I scoffed before continuing. “Because if you hadn’t noticed, Thomas, I ran for my life for six damn months trying to get away from WCKD.” As I sniffled back more tears, I saw Newt walk past me from the corner of my eye to go back inside. I guess to give Thomas and I whatever kind of privacy he thought we needed.

“I have noticed,” Thomas said. “I noticed the moment you were gone when WCKD found us in the mountains after first meeting Jorge and Brenda.”

“Then why the hell didn’t you come looking for me?”

“I did. As we were trying to find the Right Arm, I was also looking for you, too,” Thomas said, taking a couple steps towards me.

“Is that why you looked so shocked to see me earlier?” I asked, tilting my head up some to look at him as he slowly got closer.

“Yes,” he replied, without missing a beat.

“Why?” I whispered.

Tucking a piece of loose hair behind my ear, he said, “Because… nobody’s seen you in days.”

I chuckled. “Try months.”

He started leaning his head down as I was slowly standing on my toes, and said, “I’m gonna kiss you now.”

Closing the gap between us, I pressed my lips to his and just stood there for a moment, savoring the moment. Our lips moved in sync for a couple minutes before he was the first to pull away.

“Wow,” he said.

“I know,” I smiled. “Now. Let’s go save Minho.”

Jealous? - Mitch Rapp

It’s ya’girl, back with requests!... that are now closed. Anyways, I really hope y’all like this. It’s my first Mitch piece, so pls go easy on me, lol. It’s kinda short, but like I said, it’s my first Mitch piece and i kinda don’t know how to write him ‘cause i never have before this piece. As always, read at your own risk and enjoy 😊

You know what’s awesome about getting dressed up for a night out? Getting partially dressed up for a night out. My girlfriends called me and asked if I wanted to go out for dinner, to which I obviously said yes to. I needed time with my girls, I missed them.

The boyfriend was out on work related stuff, so I was stuck home alone until he got back. He’s a CIA Operative and his name is Mitch Rapp. Very dangerous job he had. I don’t know how many times I’ve had to patch him up because he’s too stubborn to get patched up by the medics he works with.

Tonight’s outfit choice was casual, but classy. A simple black dress with a pair of Converse and a blue denim jacket. Hair was down and straight, and makeup was natural but classy. Something Mitch, I’m sure, would approve of. But who needs a man's approval for feeling good, amiright?

Anyway, the girls and I were headed to this beautiful restaurant in the middle of town. Outdoor seating, string lights up above our heads, live music heard from down the street. It was somewhere you take someone for a nice date or even a girl’s night, like what we were doing!

Gossip here and there about our guys and girl, what we’ve been up to, what we hope for the future, all that jazz. Now, if you’re wondering if the girls know about Mitch, don’t worry. They do. That’s how I met them! Well, a couple of them. The others I knew from college.

“Oh, my god, did you hear about Aubrey?” my best friend, Sophie, said.

A gasp was heard from Charlotte before she said, “No. What? What’s the gossip?!”

Looking around at the four of us, Sophie smiled and said, “I heard… she’s trying to go after one of our men.”

Gasps. That’s all you could hear from us before we all started talking at the same time.

“What?”

“Who?

“Why would she do that?”

“Better not be my Tommy.”

Putting her hands on the table and chuckling, Sophie said, “Ladies! I’ll tell you if you’ll all stop talking at the same time.”

Since we all wanted to know who Aubrey was trying to go after, we all shut our faces real quick. Sophie looked at every single one of us before landing her eyes… on me.

I stuttered for a second before finally finding my words. “Mitch? My Mitch?”

She nodded her head with a smirk on her face. “Yup. The one and only Mitch Rapp.”

“Why Mitch?!” I shrieked. The girls tried to quiet me down, but I swatted at them to get to be quiet. “No, no, no. I wanna know. Why is this bitch trying to get my Mitch?”

“She said she found him to be handsome, you annoying and she can probably please him in ways that you can’t.”

Another wave of gasps and a lean on the table from me later, I looked Sophie in the eyes and said, “Tell me everything.”

When I got home that night, I never expected to be woken up by the sound of a punching bag and the door to mine and Mitch’s shared bedroom to be opened a little.

Sitting up in our bed, I rubbed my eye a little before reaching over and flipping my phone up to light up the screen, the time reading 2:14am. Getting up, I crossed my arms over my chest, following the noise groggily, trying not to trip over my own two feet. I heard his grunts before I saw him, punching away at his bag. He stopped for a second, a mad look in his eyes before he stopped the bag with his hands, panting from the workout he’d just done.

“Mitch?” I quietly called. “Baby, are you okay?”

His look softened when our eyes met, something along the lines of regret on his face. He walked over to me, gently bringing his hands to my cheeks, a small grimace to his face. “I didn’t mean to wake you, I’m sorry. It was a long day at work, and I needed to take my frustrations out and the bag was the only choice.”

Leaning into his touch, I closed my eyes and hummed quietly. “It’s okay,” I whispered. “Is it about the work event in a couple weeks?”

He sighed, pressing his forehead to mine. “It’s like you’re a fucking mind reader.”

I giggled, moving my head to press my lips against his, softly. I hummed again as I pulled away, smiling a little.

“Go back to bed,” he said. “I’ll be there in a minute.”

“You better, or I’m kicking your ass.”

He chuckled, rubbing the tip of his nose against mine. “You wish.”

I turned around and looked at him over my shoulder, smiling at him. As I walked away, I felt him smack my ass, making me jump a little. “Mitch!”

“Bed!”

A couple weeks had passed, and it was just a couple days before Mitch’s work event. I already had my dress picked out, but helping Mitch decide whether he would be wearing a bow tie or a normal one was beginning to become impossible.

“Would you hold still?” I exclaimed. “I’m trying to get this right.”

“I wasn’t aware you knew how to tie a bow tie,” he said.

I looked at him with a blank expression. “I don’t. Which is why you need to be still.” I looked back at the material around his neck, groaning with defeat. “Oh, my god, just wear a normal fucking tie.”

He shrugged, saying, “Eh, ties aren’t really my thing.”

I leaned my head back and groaned, turning to our dresser, placing the bow tie down. “You’re not going unbuttoned. It’s a formal event from what the girls have told me. You’re wearing a tie.”

Walking around him to the bed, I picked up the tie that I placed there earlier in the day. “These I actually know how to tie.”

Before I could turn around to walk back around him, I felt two arms go around my waist before a chin was placed on my shoulder. I hummed, leaning my head back on Mitch’s shoulder and closed my eyes.

“When we get back from the event, I know the perfect way to tie this tie,” he whispered in my ear.

I bit my bottom lip and let out a hum, thankful for his arms that were around my waist because if they weren’t there, my knees would hit the ground. “Don’t start teasing.”

He quickly spun me around, our lips meeting in an already heated kiss. “It’s what I do best.”

It’s the night of Mitch’s work event, and since I wasn’t able to go with him due to a minor work obligation, we both went separately. My dress was nude, spaghetti strap and beautiful with beading all over it with about half of my back showing, and a slit about halfway down my left leg. I paired it with some nude heels, my hair was half up half down in beautiful waves, and my makeup was done elegantly; almost like what you would see on a bride.

As soon as I had walked into the building where the event was taking place, I was offered a glass of champagne, and started looking for Mitch. I found him, talking to his boss, Stan Hurley, who locked eyes with me before leaning in closer to Mitch’s ear, whispering something into his ear.

Whatever he said made Mitch turn around and stare at me like he was seeing me for the first time again. Different story, different time.

I walked over to the two of them, putting my free arm across Mitch’s upper back, his arm going around my waist. “Well, howdy, boys.”

“Y/N,” Stan greeted, leaning forward and giving me a small hug… something of which he never gives. “You look beautiful.” “Thank you,” I smiled. “You don’t look so bad yourself.” I looked over at Mitch, seeing a small scowl on his face. “I see you managed to tie that all by yourself.”

He looked over at me, scowl still present.

Stan cleared his throat before turning his body halfway away from us. “I’ll let you two have a little bit of privacy.”

Just as soon as Stan walked away, Mitch’s grip on me tightened ever so slightly. He went to say something, but I interrupted his thoughts. “I’m gonna go find Sophie and say hey.”

I walked away from him, taking another sip of the alcoholic beverage in my hand. Once I found Sophie, I went over the game plan we had for the night to make Mitch jealous.

Around thirty or so minutes later, I felt an arm wrap around my waist, pulling my back to their front. Because I didn’t know who it was, I started to panic a little on the inside before I felt those lips I love so much press brush against the shell of my ear.

“What makes you think you can wear a dress like that tonight?” Mitch growled in my ear, quietly.

I look over at him with sultry eyes, saying, “Why? Are you jealous?.”

Moving his body to face me a little more, we never stopped our stare down as he says, “No other guy in here should be able to look at you the way I get to.”

“And no other girl here should be able to do the same with you. Looking like a snack in this suit. You know what it does to me.”

“Oh!” he said, one brow raised. “You’re jealous?”

With a scowl on my face, I turn my head back to the event. Mine and Aubrey’s eyes met for a second before I started to get a little mad. Grabbing Mitch's hand, I basically dragged him out of the event and back to his car, pushing him against the driver's side door.

He went to speak as I undid the buttons on his suit jacket, but I stopped him with my lips, putting my hands on his sides under his jacket.

I felt his hands on my cheeks, deepening the kiss.

After our tongues battled for a minute or two, he pulled away, a smirk on his face. “You are jealous.”

“If Aubrey thinks she can have you, she’s dead fucking wrong,” I breathed. “Now, take me home and fuck me as good as you know how to until the sun comes up or else I’ll change my mind.”

A/N 2: i had this idea for a work place event, and since mitch is a cia operative, i really don’t know if the actual cia has work events like this, so i kinda just went with the flow of the story. if you’re wondering, she makes mitch jealous by wearing this dress, and not really standing around him for the time that they’re there.

hi! whats ur ranking of fav taron movies? starting with the one u consider the worst and ending with the one u like the most. justify each position!! 💞

I love all of Taron’s movies so I don’t truly dislike any of them, but I will do as I’m told and shall rank them based on how much I love re-watching them. Here goes.

Legend I skipped through this the first time just for Taron and then finally sat down and watched the whole thing, and I really enjoyed it, but if Taron wasn’t in it, I probably wouldn’t feel compelled to watch it again.

Testament of Youth I love this movie. I despise this movie. I love it but I also passionately hate it. This is not an enjoyable or fun movie to watch. I find it absolutely impossible to ignore what’s to come so I can’t even just focus on how wonderful and adorable and perfect sweet Edward is. But also, the movie is gorgeous, thought-provoking, and taught me to always moisturize my elbows.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle To be up front, when it comes to Eggsy, he’s my favourite of Taron’s characters. I adore that boy with my whole heart, so any time Eggsy’s on screen, it makes me want to rank the film higher on this list, however the movie as a whole isn’t super enjoyable to me. I always skip Polly’s scenes and anything Eggsy isn’t in, which tells me it’s not a movie I adore as a standalone film, I just adore Eggsy. I do think it was immensely creative and I love Eggsy’s growth, there’s just a lot of things I would have changed. *coughs*likenotbringingharryback*coughs*

Eddie the Eagle While this sweet movie is very re-watchable, it’s just not a movie I grab when I’m feeling like enjoying a Taron film. I do love watching it with other people, because it’s one of the few of Taron’s movies that’s good for anyone and everyone, and I have lovely memories of watching it with various family members and enjoying watching their reactions. Eddie is an absolute darling and I love him so much and I’m so glad Taron chose to be in it because it’s a precious inspirational film that I would never have watched if not for him.

Billionaire Boys Club I still haven’t been able to figure out why this movie is so hated. Sure, it has flaws, but I genuinely enjoy BBC, and not just because it was an unmitigated pleasure to see Taron play a bad guy or hear his American accent. Although those are two very important things to me. I love the story, the descent into darkness and desperation, the betrayal, all of it.

Robin Hood I am absolutely unabashed about how much I love this stupid, awful movie. Yes, it’s stupid and yes, it’s awful, but I just love it. Right now, I own three copies of it. I remember when I first bought it, I was like ‘this is a total waste of money’, and you know what? I was right. But I don’t regret it at all. The story is disjointed and rushed, then screeches to a halt, the editing is funky, and the script is painfully awkward at points, but dang if I don’t love it. It is my ultimate guilty pleasure movie. There was such an immense amount of potential that I think that’s why I’m so blinded by love. I desperately love what it should have been.

Kingsman: The Secret Service This movie is perfect. It’s just perfect. When I first watched it, a few days into my Taron phase (I actually started watching TGC first, not realizing it was the second movie in the series, but thankfully stopped before I got in very far) I really did not expect to like it. I’m not a James Bond fan so I thought I’d just kinda suffer through it for Taron, but then sweet Eggsy showed up, and within about 2 minutes, by the time he locked the door behind him as he left the flat, I was smitten. Then he went and stole the bully’s car and I was done for. Eggsy Unwin stole my heart in 5 minutes and I’m so okay with it. The film itself is just amazing and ingenious (and the plot is actually ridiculously prophetic) and I love it. I haven’t watched it start to finish in quite a while but I can’t wait for the next time I do.

Rocketman Oh this precious, incredible movie. This was movie I watched with the ‘alright, I’ll just start it and see if I can handle it for Taron’ mentality and by the time Elton sat down and listed off why he was in therapy, I was completely hooked. I’ve watched it so many times, by myself, with others, and I think it gets somehow more magical every time. It is a true 5 star, 10/10 film, and this is coming from someone who used to not give a rip about Elton John or know any of his songs, from someone who doesn’t like the 60′s-80′s eras, and who was not really a fan of musicals, especially flamboyant ones. But I fell in love with Rocketman and I fell hard. As a Christian, this does make me chuckle because so much of the film would shock the hardcore, delicate religious folk, but I adore it and I was truly amazed by how much it made me feel. It’s a roller coaster and an incredible one at that. Taron is always amazing in every role but there’s just something about this performance that goes beyond any performance I’ve ever seen. Of all of Taron’s films, this is the movie I’ve watched the most, from start to finish, and would watch any time. I love it so much.

Fanfic Authors Tag Game

I was tagged by @ahiddenpath and her answers were really good x’D As for me, it's been quiiiite a while since I wrote fanfic... but I might as well x'D Thanks!!

Fandoms: Mainly Digimon, a few others here and there (X-men, Tsubasa Chronicle) 

Number of fics: Some... sorry I don't care to count them.

1. Fic I spent the most time on: All Seems Beautiful. It was a monster fic for me. I had multiple muti-page outlines (one that was short with bullet points, another that went into each point in detail, plus character profiles with notes about absolutely everything, like favorite foods or what kind of sneakers they wear). I loved planning it, but towards the point where I stopped writing I was getting headaches trying to remember everything. I felt like it's not a good sign when even the author doesn't want to reread her own story. And I knew for a fact that there were some readers who'd disappeared over the years specifically because of how long it was. That didn't really bother me, but I know I set myself up for failure by making the chapters so very long. Some fic writers do churn out monster fics much better than mine, but it was still a fun ride.

I don't know how things with ASB are gonna go in the future after such a long hiatus, but if I continue, I'll probably be setting a hard word limit for chapters like I should have in the first place. In my defense, I was a teenager when I started it and I just thought of it as my "big farewell fic" to Digimon Adventure, where I was going to encompass all of my personal theories and my visions of each character. It didn't feel like such a tall order at the time. Then it became by far my most popular fic and I started to stress, and it wasn't so much fun anymore. If I can get the fun back, I'll totally continue it.

2. Fic I spent the least time on: There are a couple fics on my FF page that are from when I was really young. Those would be the most legit answer, but I'm not gonna count them, because that was another era. A totally different world. Of fics I've written more recently, it would be From an Admirer. That's also the reason why I cringe at it a bit... I was just answer a prompt, but after I wrote it I wanted to delete the prompt from the fic altogether because I didn't like the way it framed things.

3. Longest fic: All Seems Beautiful, 246,914 words as of the last update. The majority of that was "part one" and the thought of writing that amount for the second half is part of why I ended up stalling. But there are so many fics out there that make my WIP look short...

4. Shortest fic: Difficult to properly answer since I have some sort of curse on me where I can never finish anything. Ficlets. The shortest on FF (excluding my childhood fics) is Mad-Libs, but From an Admirer is shorter still.

5. Most hits: Well, on FF it's ASB easily lol.

On AO3, it's Izumi Koushirou and the Splendiferous Valentine's Day Shindig Whose Splendor Was So Diferous It Ought To Be Immortalized In Song (alternate title: "Why Everyone Hates February")

Actually I was surprised to find that one has the most hits on AO3, though ASB isn't updated there so that's probably part of why. But also I appreciate that Taishiro fandom love <3

I should really finish that one. Problem is it needs massive editing first. Too bad I don't have any oolong tea around...

7. Most comment threads: What is a comment thread? For reviews, this one also goes to ASB, easy win. I think it's the same on both sites, but I'm not completely sure because I think my own replies to comments are included in the count... the FF one can be trusted though.

8. Favorite fic I wrote: I think mainly because I never finish anything, it's hard to give a meaningful answer. ASB was the most work and also the most personal, so I care about it a lot. But there are other fics where I was was trying to do something specific, either with the plot or the writing style. I'm loath to pick a fav.

9. Fic you want to re-write: Hahaha... They all need lots of edits, but rather than rewrite any, I just want to finish one. :8

But the answer would be ASB. I wanna change so many things. The original plan that I had, I don't want it exactly that way anymore, but I set it up too much to just abandon it without a lot of work and probably confusion. The way I see some of the characters shifted as well. I am NOT going to rewrite this fic though.

10. Share bit of a WIP or a story idea you’re planning on: I wanted to write a post-Tri fic about Taichi and Meiko. Not a romance exactly, but that one phone call at the end wasn't enough closure for me after the monumental decision Taichi made in the last movie.

I should rewatch all of Tri first though and that's pretty much what's holding me back >.< I love Tri, but it's long and I have a job and a life... I never watch movies or TV unless someone tells me to. Only found Mandalorian and Witcher because of my BF and it's probably to my benefit that they're both TBC for now.
