actually coolest thing about ebony is that not only are his eyelights solid white but they are also extremely teeny tiny which means if i dont color them & just leave them bone color i dont think a single person would actually notice

#trousled rambles #its such a small thing but yall have no idea how much work this saves me actually #do u have any idea how much extra steps it takes to color in eyelights in character portraits when they constantly move around #i have to color the entire eye socket shape just to not have 25 eye layers #and then also have different versions for half-lidded expressions of varying degrees #and thank god i can color in the eye sockets in the lineart itself because if they have real eyes its a fucking nightmare #but with this one i can just . erase a little dot. and then im done. what bliss #now that i think about it i dont think ive ever actually talked about all the little annoying stuff that goes into making talk sprites huh #um. it takes a lot of layer tricks #the most recent one for russ from like 2020 has 96 layers for about 9 poses if that puts anything into perspective lol #i dont even think i used all of em 😔

The full lineup is almost done!! (just needs some touch ups and a Chunsik design👍) FEEDBACK IS GREATLY APRECIATED!!

Design process under here (whole lot of yapping)

General thoughts: Ive given them in my previous design sheet (you can find it in my blog)(tldr: designs match characters but still childish, 8-12 years old). Only thing different here, is that these eggs were eggs who I had less of a clear idea of what I wanted to do with them (though I still really liked where I ended up!!)

Empanada: Didnt want to go for the full sweet lolita route, mostly because I thought it'd take away the "little kidness" of it all, but something that still resembles the aesthetic. She's wearing "carneirinhos" (idk the name in english) which is very cute little girl to me, and shes also a demon! Her tail resembles a frying pan!! Though I might change her fringe (it was supposed to be baby hairs but now that I think about it, her type of hair probably wouldnt have them) and put some argyle pattern in her sweater vest. I just forgor💀 to do that...I also wish I had made her shorter, but unfortunetely I drew this before the eggs did the height check (YES ITS BEEN THAT LONG).

Sunny: My beautiful baby girl. She means the world to me. I love this minecraft egg with all my heart. Shes wearing Light up sketchers and some fairy wings like Pomme, and shes actually wearing a swimsuit, she just put a tutu over it. The diamonds they're always holding are rings, they have a "terere" in their hair (idk name in english😭😭) and the beads were inspired by an artist on twt (@\BLUETOMATOSODA). Also if you are wondering why her hair looks like tentacles, its because I had originally made it puffy, but changed my mind after doing the lineart, so i had to get creative with me covering it up. Just pretend she has a fan, shes a star after all!

Pepito: Basically, he is very smoll. Chiquito even. He has strawberry hair and MASSIVE glasses that take up his entire face. Hes wearing a swimsuit aswell (dont ask how it works idk either), and has floaties since he cant swim. Hes got crocs, since flip flops hurt his toes, with a spider man charm on them! Also hes got a sunhat, mostly cause I wanted some other accessorie but didnt want to go with gas mask since it'd kinda kill the whole swimming vibe (since his model is wearing a swimsuit). sorry if its not too accurate to his character. Side note: Him, Em and Sunny all have freckles! Him and Sunny all over their bodies while Em just has on her cheeks.

Leo: Cute sporty vibe, love her shorty spiky hair. Wanted to try to make her face spiky aswell, for the whole shark dad thing. Shes got a necklace with a shark tooth (I guess she got it from Foolish??). He changes tshirts randomly, and opens and closes his attack on titan hoodie depending on the tshirt's expression (basically my version of Leo changing her player heads constantly). His trainers have dragon wings and also: whealies!!

Dapper: Im gonna be honest: did not expect to like his design THIS much. The colouring really elevated, with the long blue hair (the same colour as the ghosties!). Wanted to make them, y'know, dapper, so I had to sacrifice some of the "little kid vibes" unfortunetely, but I think it fits her still. The hat has part of the helmet that they used to wear a lot, demon horn to match Pomme, and a suit that is VERY inspired by Death the Kid from Soul Eater (very fitting for a reaper in training imo). Might be my favourite design!

Ramon: Jesus fuck you'd think designing your fav egg would be easy BUT NO. I struggled long and hard. Again, he doesnt have that much "little kid" vibe whatever man😭😭 Im just happy that I even managed to make SOMETHING. Hes got Create googles, his meathead is a massive hat that completely hides his hair. Very simple, very Ramon, though I will probably end up making a version with an ugly sweater just like he likes instead😔. I still like it but. man...

So many ppl were like legitimately scared of sukuna but to you he was just a little shit and honestly? I think yall’d be cutee together (i wanna be the ring bear! 🐻)

(I think ur dates would include LOTS of scheming but also bitchin,cos this man has THOUSANDS of yeaes worth of tea to spill and hearin abt ancient gossip is still funny as shit🙈)

Now a little on the powercouple dynamic~

I think that while yall would tease and joking insult eachother,if anyone else tried dishing out jabs in your respective directions the other wouldnt stand for it

Like if someone ELSE calls u idiotic,theyre begging for mercy in a second

And if anyone calls sukuna something insulting,you’re basically walkingg them upto deaths door urself

And if You ever mention how this means he cares abt you,he will in fact go into denial and completely invalidate your opinion on the subject

but oh my gaw all this Jug support✋🏼😔 I feel like it’s so obvious that Jon loves Bug (of course!) but not in that way; his heart is intertwined with Nancy’s! PLS CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG (I just adore discussing this masterpiece) but I feel like Jon loves Bug almost for who she used to be; the person she was while they were kids into their early teens. He knows THAT Bug like the back of his hand, and maybe is even TOO comfortable with that person (idk if I’m making sense). But Steve is falling in love with Bug because he has the unique perspective of NOT knowing her for as long as Jon. He sees the beauty in her identity AWAY from Jonathan, seeing her as her own person with her own identity (everyone sees Bug and Bee as such a duo that they’re practically perceived as one entity). He falling in love with her for HER, and for who she’s growing into, and it is so beautiful.

That being said, I could be completely off and have promptly missed the mark by a mile✨

Also Lucas is a sweet wonderful lovely boy and I love that you write Bug acknowledging that and loving him so much, make-a me happy🥹

YOURE SPOT ON !!! thats exactly what im going for with jon, steve, and bug. its a common theme throughout the story, growing up and changing. for bug, she realized she loved jonathan right before he changed into someone more stoic and pessimistic (his brother had just died, he was forever changed by that) while jonathan has always loved her in his own way but it shifted once will disappeared :((

and STEVE !! he DOES see bug as just bug !! while jon i think is still grappling with the fact that everything has changed now and hes always been a bit too comfortable with her. for bug and jon, its reflective of their childhood more than anything else, so steve and nancy will be the ones who bring them forward like hey guys !! grow up !! its ok and youre safe !!

i shouldnt really be giving any hot takes on character design as someone who, despite having mild success in the adoptable scene in highschool, absolutely does NOT still got it when it comes to character designing (nowadays im just trying to do my best orz) but i do think one of the most important things with character design is that they serve the medium theyre in well.

like, a super exaggerated shape style triangle man with tiny legs a la mr incredible works great for an action cartoon movie but i dont know how good that style would work in a visual novel where you tend to only see the top half of the body. you wont be able to appreciate the tiny legs 😔

and as much as i goof on the visually cluttered anime boys in otome games and their odd fashion choices (kent from amnesia. at least 21 belts. 11 on one arm alone) i genuinely think they work for what they need to do, like all those fucking sashes and scarves and cords and capes and swishy things on the ikemen sengoku guys, painful to draw for me who wants to draw a goofy comic of them but WONDERFUL for an unanimated visual novel sprite, flowing clothes and hair adds a lot of movement to static images that you'll be staring at for 20-50 hours.

but of course on the visual novel/japanese adv game end of things u also have stuff like phoenix wright and the absolutely beautiful hotel dusk that tend to have blockier silhouettes than the fluttery flowing cloth and hair of like, a character in a bishoujo game from Key or something, but their sprites are animated which benefits from the blockier and (usually) less cluttered designs.

and theres still lots of exaggeration to be had to get very varied character designs, like the jake hunter games have a very grounded semi-realistic style but everyones posture and body types and expressions are pretty distinct, just the distinction is focused on the upper half of the body rather than the whole body like you would focus on with a comedy slapstick cartoon or like a comedy newspaper comic strip. okay its becoming increasingly obvious through what im talking about that i grew up in north america in the 00s-10s using deviantart where if ur cartoons didnt look like disney or pixar or like i dont know johnny test ur designs were considered not good enough so im still in that world. im still in that world. i hope the world is more open now

and something like the hotel dusk designs also would work well for drama or thriller comics - like i was also thinking about big sparkling shoujo manga designs and like. in a comic if ur like a garfield slapstick comedy u wanna look like a garfield, but if ur constantly doing closeups with serious emotion like a romantic drama shoujo manga, having big glittering expressive eyes and emphasizing the upper half of the character is pretty effective for the combination of medium and genre. i also think naoki urasawa's character designs would look so so good in a hotel dusk style game, that guy makes like the perfect thriller design, varied and diverse in shapes but so effective for a serious toned horror mystery thriller thing will lots of closeups of characters faces. i guess because i love serious and dramatic stories about people talking a whole lot i do gravitate towards this style of character design, where the emphasis is on the silhouette from the waist up LOL but it really goes to show that some character designs that may not fit the late 2000s comedy animation shape-based design philosophy have their own places where they thrive <- obvious thing everyone knows except for me who was on deviantart too much when i was 12

i think what im trying to say is i think big boobied super busy anime girl vtuber designs are fine, good even. i like em, i think they do the job and a lot of work goes into them. u only have a headshot/bust (heh) shown on screen 99% of the time u might as well make it with a bunch of particle effects and cool hairclips and lace and weird moving head wings or some shit. slap some sparkles on that thang

hmm i know ya already knew this one, but i wanna tell it again. i stole one of the spare projectors. n' i took it home cos i wanted to try and set up a little movie night. invited multiple ppl but nobody believed me so it was just me</3

um i ended up causing a small fire but after i put that out i got it workin!!!! saw about 3 minutes of the reel i stole and then got bored. took the reel back but kept the projector.

hmmm. lemme think. i think at some point i was not havin a good day so i started hiding in the back of the warehouse to just get away yknow. lacie found me n she was so nice??? like i usually just annoyed her but she goes "kid, look. ya gotta beat their asses." and like girl..... ur so right..... i'm gonna beat them up.... so anyways i got into a fight

also! when i was rigging the uhh. warehouse games. to the doors? the guys were like "wow for a tiny guy you're capable." so i bit them too. teehee

did the water bucket trick on the music director. tried to run away but slipped on said water. i think thats when he kicked me down the stairs

another one. i visited jack cos i was done early and i didnt wanna go home yet. i go down there and theyre like,, i dont know how to describe it. but i just watched them do this little jig and then they saw me n went. well? you gonna join or what?? so im like. frick yeah ill join. so we grooved for a while until someone started yelling for me fkebdjeb

miss susie did my makeup once! but i moved too much and she was just. WALLY FOR THE LOVE OF GOD SIT STILL. but it tickled it wasnt my fault it felt weird ok. anyways i was literally killing it afterwards. shes really good at makeup. and putting up with me cnsvhf

one more for now, then i gotta go-

sorry it has to do with the friggin mechanic. but its funny. so like after the whole Welder incident he just. stopped trusting me to do things alone so any time i had to help him (I HATED HELPING HIM) he was just watching the whole time like >:[ and saying no. youre doing this wrong. youre turning the wheel the wrong way. THEN YOU DO IT YOURSELF. anyways after a while of that shawn appears out of NOWHERE, drags me outta there, sayin "we gotta put my plan into action theres NO time to explain." and she had a "sled" (a bunch of wooden planks crudely attatched to eachother) set up at the top of the stairs and i couldnt even object before they just. put me on this thing and kicked us both off. i fell off immediately but shawn didnt realize i fell off til she was at the bottom of the stairs. THEY SET UP LITTLE SLINGSHOT THINGS TO HELP EM GET AROUND THE TURNS OF THE STAIRS. thomas catches up like "what the f man" and im just listening to the distinct sound of thunkthunkthunkthunk as the thing keeps goin. i get dragged back to work just as norman started scolding shawn 😔

okay this one is a bonus song (technically for "The Fame" album, but released with the international deluxe edition of "The Fame Monster". so im putting it here as a bonus song lol)

this one is soooo fun for me. i wish this was in the original tracklist of The Fame instead of Disco Heaven tbh. it's fun, it fits the energy and vibe of the album so well. it would be a better closer imo :<

general comments - this album is POP PERFECTION in the literal sense im not even kidding. it's her shortest, but probably the most impactful work.

in terms of production, it has such a CLARITY that is really hard to see in many albums. the art direction and music meets the production perfectly. The Fame is an iconic album, sure. but The Fame Monster really takes a huge step ahead from that if you ask me. which says a LOT about the quality of this album

i want to say, the lyrics in this album is probably my favorite from her works. it just!!!! so good, so powerful!!! the dark side of fame may seem like an overdone concept, but she does it so well here

i would say this is her best album if i didnt know what will come later in her career lmao. it's just so good, so clean, so inspirational, i would just think "okay how will she top this cmon now"... but she does she really does that's really impressive on its own

Well that shit’s depressing. Literally Kylian’s POV. Especially the part where he sings about how being successful means giving up/losing something important that you cant replace which makes him wonder if he has truly won after all. That shit is heavy.

Mostly curious cause I've got my own rendition of em and I feel you're a pretty reliable source to ask so as to not unintentionally put anything offensive or ick bout the jttw peeps.

eeeeh, the person who bothers me (to this day, n to put it lightly,) does so because way back in the day when i first thought "hey. what if.. i put the Stalwart Generals in here." i was still a very small creator in the lmk fandom, basically, while the other peep was established. i put up my vibe checks of them n what technically happened was that they Honestly Kind Of Yoinked my takes on Beng n Ba WITHOUT even ever at least Askin if they could/i was comfy with that

like the stalwart generals r obviously not mine! anyone can do with em whatEVER they want. i myself was inspired by a jt/tw fic to pull them into my own au (that fic's Ma and ft!Ma are pretty strangely similar even tho for my characterization of her i used the four ma words that are used to show off tones to beginners on duolingo as the main building blocks) rather than comin up with it entirely by myself

but the Specific characterizations of the B team were pretty much mine from what i have then seen n they got pulled into an au where shdwpch is a thing n this was WAYYY before i realized i can just block the damb tag (took me a bit, Spot slow sometimes 😔), seein those characterizations bein so positive bout swk n macaque bein somehow romantically together made my skin crawl

therefore! i havent exactly seen a take on them that could be considered offensive (Yet and i Think, i have like over half of the fandom blocked at this point tbh). whats wrong over at the fort Spot is very specific to the fort Spot. I do also ask that people try and not take Me as a base inspiration for the Stalwart Generals (especially if ure doin shdwpch up in the bitch, but yanno all bout that at this point)- mostly cuz u r limitin ur own creativity!! the generals dont even have specified genders in the book (at least the english translation hahahoo) so u can take a lot of liberty startin even as early as There

Balut is one of the thing i tried that i wont ever eat it anymore. Another thing i tried was Monkfish liver sushi. The chef told me it was so good n it's special so i tried it. It was so gross. N the main thing i really really hate n wont eat is frog. To me just looking at frog can make me want to throw up. My mom once tricked me n told me it's chicken. Then i bit the little bone that i know it doesnt look like chicken bones. So she finally told me that it was frog. I ran to the bathroom n threw up so bad. Not gonna lie, i was so upset with her at that time.😅

I'm not saying this is 100% accurate to the way he talks in the game but this is how I write him:

1. Take away the 'g' only 9 outta 10 times

2. Change the 'you' to 'ya' only 6 outta 10 times

3. Add words like "Yo" , "Oi" , "Geez" , "Yikes"

4. Add sounds like "Pfft" , "Tch" , "Ah!" , "Gaah!" , "Ha!? / Huh!?"

5. Use swears like "ass" , "son of a bitch" , "damn" . Since this is fanfic I like throwing "fuck" around a lot

6. Replace "shut up" with "shuddup"

7. Replace two words with one word. "Kind of" to "kinda" , "going to" to "gonna" , "you all" to "y'all" , "out of" to "outta" , "got to" to "gotta" , "want to" to "wanna" , "come on" to "c'mon" , "you know" to "y'know"

8. Insults/teasing - "Dummy" , "airheaded" , "dunce" etc

9. Exclamation points. When excited/angry/happy (feeling "high" emotions) he uses a lot of exclamation points. Even his questions can sometimes end as "!?"

10. When he's talking normally/when he's not excited his voice comes off as "monotone but leaning into annoyed". Short, abrupt sentences with fullstops can catch that tone

11. "Isn't" to "ain't"

12. "Because" to "Cos"

13. Sometimes if a vowel starts the word off, cut the vowel out. "About" to " 'bout" , "I am"/"I'm" to " 'm" , "It is" to " 's"

14. "Them" to " 'em"

15. Conjugation - "could have" to "could've"

I can't remember if he's used 11 - 14 in the game (and he's only used some examples from 7) but it fits in well with the rest of it which have actually happened in canon and it's the way that I talk/write and since I follow most of Mammon's other speech patterns I figured this would fit as well

I can't really remember Hagrid's way of speaking other than the fact that he didn't say "H" ? eg: " 'arry" or " 'ave". And I think he uses "yer" instead of "you" or "ya"

The main point though is to not use any of these constantly - don't overuse 'em!

You don't have to take the "g" outta every word that ends with a "-ing" or turn every "you" into a "ya" etc
