I usually wouldn’t post about Genshin Impact here but I just felt like I have to let this out.

The 4.2 Archon Quest and Furina’s Story Quest made me fall in love with Furina as a character (not literally falling in love I hope you get what I mean.). I just love everything about her. Her personality, her backstory and even her character design. There’s so much depth to her. Don’t get me wrong I liked her before 4.2 too. I actually liked her ever since she first appeared in 4.0, but each update made me like her a bit more and now with the Archon Quest concluded and with Furina’s story quest out I can’t help but be enamored by her. Ayaka used to be my favorite Genshin Impact character ever since I first saw her because there was something about her personality that reminded me of myself. But that spot has now been taken by Furina. She has become my number 1 favorite Genshin Impact character. She is very relatable to me and personality wise she also reminds me of myself. I can’t go into detail on why she reminds me of myself and why she is relatable to me without spoiling the quest tho. I was trying to pull for Furina but I sadly lost my 50/50 to Dehya. Hope I’ll still somehow get her tho during her Banner’s duration.

I need you to know that I squawked at the cliffhanger of childe’s appearance. Lost my mind and almost threw my phone. Fingers crossed that Aether got to him before the banquet!

But to the chapter as a whole! There are?? So many things I wanna talk about? I’ll try to keep it somewhat short so I can fit it all into one ask but sienussnei-

I’m like 50 percent sure those strings pulled had something to do with the fauti. Something I remembered!! Not every person from the house of the hearth becomes one of the fauti! But they still do remain close to the group! My crack theory is that Rosalie is one of people in that latter group. Arlecchino was able to fully attempt an assassination on Furina without anyone knowing before or after( including the orphans in this as well since they don’t say thing about it as far as i know? And im absolutely positive they wouldn’t push for more info and take her at her word that she didn’t have the gnosis) and the only reason why it was a attempt and not a success is because she stopped herself! Either way though, considering her disguise used for that same attempt, I sure that the hooded figure was Father herself.

ALSO THE PINING OF THIS MAN!!! That polearm?? The sudden flip from fake to real the moment he saw Rosseland (I’m assuming that was the kitty in question) had led Thawed!Reader to him? The instant flirtations? Not to mention that despite the fact Thawed!Reader kept talking about kissing him, he refused!! Because he knew they were both drunk and not quite in their right minds to do that!!! THE MAN CARES!! It’s also a blessing and a curse rn that Thawed!Reader is kinda drunk. A blessing because she isn’t hiding her feelings as much, but a curse because she isn’t being subtle at all. The straight forward question she asked? Lyney isn’t drunk enough to forget that.

The callback to the last chapter too! She really does know lyney so well, even after all this time. He was right, she did know he was lying. And she’s just sitting there, trying to figure out what’s going on while Aether’s just sitting there like ‘you two nerds love each other.’ Not that she would admit it out loud. Yet. Also RIP reader, paimon and Rosalie are friends now, friendship forged by food. They aren’t gonna leave readers life once this is over and done. Say goodbye to your peace and quiet! (Although lyney may complain about that but that’s a different story-)

Losing my mind also over Rosalie and Thawed!Reader’s connection. She doesn’t even realize she is calling Rosalie maman!! But Rosalie does and it’s just so soft and sweet and family and rurnfjkeis. I’ve known Rosalie for 7 chapters and if anything happens to her I will kill everyone in this room and then myself.

Great chapter as always! I’m a little sad to hear regular updates are potentially stopping for a bit but I fully understand! Best of luck with school!!

YEAHH!! IT WAS ROSSELAND !!! i love rosseland and how lyney ended up making the cat his assistant-- that little backstory is so cute. rosseland is such a smart cat, too; writing that scene of leading mc to lyney didnt seem absurd in the slightest to me.

drunk t!reader is a mess kwdhkdfhd some drunk words are sober thoughts. and yes i think and know that lyney is a gentleman. even drunk he would always put reader first. always!

aether is so silly he came in there to blackmail someone and ended up playing secondhand matchmaker, if that makes sense LMFAOO i actually love aether and readers dynamic its so absurd when you look at it from a different perspective. its such a strange friendship they ended up making

yes ure right!!!!!1 im not sure if im portraying it well but reader calling rosalie maman is so ? subconsciously done. its like looking at a cat and going "here kitty". u look at rosalie and the way she treats reader and u go "thanks maman".

I was just minding my business. Doing house work while doing my first 10 pull on the new banner. Just because huohuo's banner was terrible, and I look at my phone to be jumpescared by 5 star animation. I had guaranteed too. But I got him at 44 pity...

But as generous as hoyo is, they also gave me hanya as a welcome back gift. You know, basic generous hoyoverse at it again...

But that's not all...

Earlier (20 days), I also got my first 5 star in genshin, Furina. At 50 pity too. I love her kit and personality don't spoiler me more pls. After 25 more pulls I also got Jean, her best support i can get right now. After that, I got Jean AGAIN in the standard banner (why hoyo?)

And its fine IG, but now in both games the only reasonable thing to do is get weapons/lightcones (5 stars), since both games gave me no weapons. I am being forced (mentally) to pull for weapons...

I guess I can launch hilichurls 20 meters in the air with Jean, and I can look at argenti's face for 20 minutes, but This is 100% lucky. But I deserve it (I lost every 50/50 except furina here).

SO I GOT THE BOY

Buuut it might have come at a cost

Any way I'll put my update thoughts below!

So I had really tapered my expectations for Fontaine and In someway that was a really good idea. 4.0 I wasn't off the mark when I predicted that it was gonna be Ace Attorney but from the timeline that lead to Marvel Vs Capcom. What I didn't predict was the Bioshock vibes that came in in 4.1

And honesty 4.1 was great. Lyney and Company, Neuvillette and Wriothesley, and even Clorinde was great.

Furina is still really pretty weak as a character because She's just a supped up Fischl but with the charm worn off.

I actually really liked Arlecchino a lot much to my own surprise.

I am really excited to see where the main story goes.

Now on to more finer Details. I ended up pulling for Lyney hoping to lose the 50/50 well I won. But I'm not to sad about it because honestly I love Lyney he was such a fun deep character.

Then came Neuvillette. It was SO HARD not to pull for him. I loved him so much his story quest was so good man.

But I'm also not sad I missed him because I Wrothesley. AND HOLY SHIT. THAT CUT SCENE MAN. THAT SCENE. AAAAAAAA. I'm such a lost cause man. Doesn't help that between patches my Jason Todd obsessions came back and THERE BE SOME SIMALLARITIES.

But short? Fontaine is turning out great so far but I'm still not gonna get my hopes too but because I can always go wrongs.

Me: I've already lost the 50/50 so I have a guarantee on my next 5-star, and I don't really need another DPS I already have 3 main ones semi-built plus Hu Tao and Ayaka if I really need a Cryo DPS, and I'm not really a fan of the self-draining HP mechanic so I'd need to invest in more healers and I'd like to pull for Furina since I literally only have Xingqui, Barbara, and Candace for my Hydro application and if she's any kind of support that's even better -

Also hoping I get Charlotte - seeing as she's also a healer and I don't wanna miss her like I did Freminet (so sad I don't have all the siblings)

ok ok so situation update: i Did lose my 50-50 with navia BUT it was to my first mona EVER after 3+ YEARS so like. i am way less mad than i could be HDJSJSKDKSK. also i got both my candace and sucrose to c6 from c3!!!! which especially with candace is a massive overall improvement im so happy to have it bc now she has like. actual for fun viability in some places. (unironically might make my lvl 90 full investment c6 1/11/11 yaoyao an on field niloom unit now 🫡 i love her)

ANYWAY. so hows she feel to play? Well.

and like. even in overworld without benny or furina ult shes doing casual 70k gunbrella shots im obsessed with her (6/9/6 rn). Actually most fun fontaine unit EASILY this is so much dopamine. like sure its no riptide when 4+ enemies are tightly grouped but its SO fun 🥰

not a half bad start to farming her set. terrified of the +20 def or EM roll looming ahead but 34.2 CV on set day 1 is still nothing to scoff at 😤 no luck this is all skill btw. i am very talented

After that I got another gold, but lost...

So now my Jean is also C1.

Overall: C1 Furina, C1 Jean, C6 Collei, C2 Charlotte, and C6 Beidou!

I'm just happy to have her. She's only level 40 rn because I haven't done any new exploration yet, but I'm going to try to lvl 90 her.

the past 48 hrs I've been foaming at the mouth with the 4.2 version trailer and I'm just SO excited for the story, and also furina bc I've been saving for her since like.... 3.8 or even earlier, except for using **1** wish that broke my guaranteed (at 10/90 total from last 10x pull) for Neuvillette so ig I have him but otherwise we have like more than enough for her

jk did another check and last time was for Klee so that was back in June but I stopped after lost 50/50 and otherwise I only went hard for Nilou + her weapon in April

but just.... the voice lines, I keep repeating them in my mind..... "Farewell Neuvillette..." and the beginning and, I won't say too much more bc spoilers but I'm so so so so excited and I think the only person I have to talk about it rn is my mentor, but also like some voice lines like Mona about the water I'm wondering what she's doing and yeah.
