Some things I love about DJ’s sound design and animations in Help Wanted 2:

Every time he makes a bigger movement that requires shifting of its weight you can HEAR IT- It creaks and you can hear hydraulics inside of him WHICH BTW IS SO COOL IN SO MANY WAYS BC (tangent): it makes sense as to why he needs hydraulics being so huge and heavy, but also because the way real spiders extend their legs is like a natural form of hydraulics!! They pump their hemolymph(basically bug blood) into their legs which then allow those legs to be filled with more pressure that causes them to extend! This is why a dead or near-death spider’s legs go into the curled position (the death curl) :(

The sTOMPS I always loved the stomps even in base sb but there is just something so cool about hearing them around you as he is so close!!! It all just adds to the feeling of his weight and size 😫

HIS GROWLING?? AND MORE ANIMAL-LIKE SOUNDS??? In the past we would hear a little bit of it when he was sleeping in SB, but now we hear more examples of it and just like- closer and more noticeably 😳 it’s almost like you can hear it breathing at times and it is so cool and uncanny in the best ways :D

Ok the SNAP?!? The way he snaps his fingers and the sound reverberates all around you?!? And the way the light ring of the outside of his tunnel turns on at the same time??? I don’t really think that DJ is actually producing the snap sound from the snap alone, as with the synthetic materials its gloves are made of probably can’t produce that crisp of a sound, BUT THAT JUST MEANS THAT HE MAKES THE SOUND HIMSELF WITH ITS SPEAKERS OR SOMETHING AND SO HE’S DOING IT 100% FOR STYLE POINTS AND I LOVE THAT FOR HIM

The sound of its teeth clanking together to the beat of the music, that’s just a neat feature I like very much

Ok movements now, THE WAY HE SWAYS HIS HIPS(?) TO THE MUSIC!?! especially when it is doing that little happy dance of his or pointing at the player when it’s their turn to play. I LOVE THAT LITTLE DANCE IT’S SO CUTE

Ok the way he leans in reaaal close before settling back? He’s probably just doing it as it shifts its balance to lean back, but like, I wanna believe he’s also sorta doing it on purpose a little 🤭

Speaking of which, the movements for him going from leaning towards you to shifting his weight back and getting into that badass cross-armed pose?!!? Love it 😭 I love it sm- once again, the recoil and the followthrough of his movements just emphasize its size and weight so well I am just obsessed

OH AND HIS LITTLE FINGER TAPS WITH HIS MIDDLE RIGHT ARM THAT’S ON THE FLOOR?!? It’s a smaller detail but I am so glad they included it because it’s just so neat!?! I don’t know how to explain why I like it but it is so neat and adds to his vibe so well

OK I JUST NOTICED THIS BUT WHEN IT IS DOING THAT LITTLE DANCE AND POINTING AT YOU WHEN YOU GOT EVERYTHING RIGHT: he like, Bops his head a little and with each head bop his headphones bounce a little as well!! Idk why that is just such a neat little detail to me!

Ok this one I probably should have mentioned sooner since it’s one of the first things it does but the way it climbs out of the tunnel and grabs the sides like that with his middle set of arms? 😫😫✨ Idk what to tell y’all but that is the most attractive shit I’ve seen!!! Y’all need to step up your game if you wanna be like him XD /j

His head tilts. Need I say more? They’re adorable.

THE JUMPSCARE??!?? Dude I know it’s probably meant to look like he’s coming in to bite/eat you or something??? But to me and my DJ-Simp corrupted brain it just looks like we’re boutta make out 😁😁😁

OK THAT’S ALL I GOT FOR RIGHT NOW, but I might possibly add to this later???? If I notice anything else that stands out to me.

also (the main reason why im answering this question), OH BOY DO I HAVE A STORY ABOUT THAT

OK SO, jj looks like jonathan from JJBA cause...design wise, he have went through the jonathan kinsona phase

i had JJ (originaly named "piper") since 2019, and between the time he have went through a LOT of design changes

i should mention that at time time, he has been a part of a [specific CS] * i will not adress them in name as i've left the species with a bad taste in my mouth and do not want to be involved with them again

around 2020 when i was INSANLY into JJBA, i found out there was a "jjba (CS)kinsona gang" chat within the species group, and while talking with some people there, i was like "haha won't it funny if i redesign my guy into a jojo character that'll be insane" and i did just that

sadly the small group kinda crumbled cause CS is all about trading and most of the "kinsona characters" got traded and redesigned 😔 i still kept JJ intending to redesign em again.

then, in 2021 when i had beef with the said [CS] and decided to leave, i sold out most of my said CS characters, but kept JJ due to sm fond memorys on him

but i didn't want him to keep being just a "jonathan kinsona". so after a species change, giving new lore and doing bunch of redesigns, the JJ we all currently know was born into the world

while being redesigned to his current looks, i put a lot of his previous design+ his cousin(shark)'s design elements and i feel like he turned out pretty well

definatly still have a sort of a resemblence, but different just enough 🤌

it actually seperates the characters more in his outgrows neck/back fluff ver, but (for now) he likes to keep it clean

pepper is also a pretty similar story

his OG design was based on speedwagon and when in my JJBA CS phase i was like "wait, wasn't there a SW inspired design??" and managed to grab em

however i don't think he gets the same recognition as JJ cause

i actually don't think his OG design resembles the character that much

i officially got him (ended my trade) when the said "JJBA CS gang" started to crumble, so i almost immidetly did a 180 on his design and used him for different lore purposes

people tend to skip part 1 so they have no idea who speedwagon is (😭)

and considering how i NEVER get comments on his connection with him but constently hear about how he look like

he’s more of a music guy but art and music go hand in hand and i’m here for it. hell he’ll even play tunes on his guitar while you’re working on art projects cause it’s so relaxing. if he’s not playing on the guitar he’ll play music on a speaker and just sit with you and watch you work. sometimes you two are fighting over what song to play it’s actually hilarious. you will want lana del rey and he will want post malone. yall take turns to play music but you both can agree on arctic monkeys. this guy won’t admit but he loves watching you do your art. he just loves how focused you look. overall he can be a jackass cause it’s eren but you two get along perfectly because like i said, music and art go hand in hand

you guys just don’t understand how much i love this man OH MY GOD. he admires you and your artwork so so much he keeps complimenting you and you just look at him like ‘🥹’ ok idk if it’s just me but it’s always the art students or any kind of design student that has such good fashion and that’s what armin also loves so much about you. he loves all the different outfits you pull off he literally said “you are the definition of ‘wear the dress don’t let the dress wear you” like OMG???? KISS ME??? but this guy does not like it when you stay up late working on art projects and consuming a shit ton of caffeine. he forces you to go to bed and work on it the next day cause he cares about your health and you cannot stop him. He loves watching you work and if you needed anything while working he will get it for you. in general he’s such a cutie and a sweetheart and i love him sm and if anyone hurts him, it’s over for you

i feel like she would be an art student too so she understands the work and stress that goes down in assignments and tests. occasionally you two would sit together and work on your assignments together but most of the time yall prefer doing it separately. it’s nothing personal but you two agreed that nothing would get done so it’s better to do your thing alone. mikasa honestly admires your creativity so much and is just so impressed by your talent. she’s just so proud of you she’ll be like “that’s my partner!!” but plzzz i beg you to compliment her art because it makes her so happy that you think she has potential when she really does :(( sometimes you sit at starbucks with her and go over some ideas and brainstorm together, showing rough ideas while drinking iced coffee

levi

he really loves the quietness in the room with some music playing through the speaker connected to your phone. it’s not anything loud or chaotic. mainly cigarettes after sex cause it’s giving levi so much. he tends to give some suggestions with your work on how it can be better and most of the time they’re actually helpful and you look at him with squinted eyes wondering if he’s secretly an art student. he likes you watch you work while he drinks his tea and you drink your iced coffee or redbull (i love redbull sm). at night however, oh god. you love art so much that you’re willing to stay up till 2 am drawing random things and it’s not even an assignment. this man is DRAGGING you to bed and your literally just fighting for your life to go back and finish that sketch but he makes you sleep and you get so pissed about it but fall asleep when your head hits the pillow😭

they’re like armin but with some extra energy. they are genuinely so curious with what you work on and what kind of materials you use. if you’re working on a canvas they love seeing how well you use acrylic paints and mix them to make a new colour and they find it so aesthetically pleasing and they don’t know why. they just stare at you like a god/goddess with heart eyes. they love it so much they asked you to teach them basics. you of course said yes but poor hange just could not understand what was happening i feel so bad for them. you both came to the conclusion that hange was not made for art but they still admire it.

this bastard literally teases you but you know he means well. he actually helps around a lot which shocks you. if you needed something, he will speed run to get whatever you need. let it be water, paint, tissue. whatever it is, he suddenly becomes a track star and gets what you need. even though he teases you, he loves what you do knowing damn well he can’t do it. he does tend to distract you though just so you can pay attention to him while you’re working and you just look at him like ‘boy wtf-’ but in the end, he’s so proud of you and he does love you. he just likes to make fun of you but dw he’s a sweetheart and doesn’t mean it. he just has ego issues PFFTT

so, almost a year ago - I actually started selfshipping with THIS red, but the twist is that he's a creepypasta equivalent for pokemon! or pokepasta I should say. keep in mind this isn't jaide :3 this is emme! she's only exclusive to the pokepasta media

this red design was taken from frid.ay nigh.t funki.n's community created mod named hypno's lullaby which basically revives the classic "scary" stories you'd hear back in the day but they turned it into a rhythm HORROR game ALSKAKKEKEKAA (if you know fri.day n.ight fun.kin then you probably know how this game could look like. it's so high quality for something that's community created.)

I wanna knowbmore about your thoughts on the lil sad meow meow Ace

(this isn't a super in depth character analysis or anything, just the way I think about Ace. It's also kinda stupidly long and very scattered. There's a reason I'm an artist and not Weeby Newz 😔)

Ace as a character fav is a huge outlier for me. I have never liked characters like him before. Like I usually despise characters that are assholes, or annoying, or loud. Like, everything Ace is at surface level.

But, and this is crazy, he's not one dimensional!! Woah!!! (Cannon Danganronpa I'm looking at you.)

And that's why I like him so much. Like, the way he acts makes sense to a degree. Hes full of anxiety, and genuine fear for his life, on top of existing anger issues and and ED, and it all collimates in him acting the way he does. He isn't just act like that for absolutely no reason, or plainly to be a dick. I mean, still, he goes way to far sometimes, and is plain annoying at others, but there's reasons he acts like he does and it makes me unable to actually dislike him. (Ngl. Still pissed off about how he basically got Nico outed publicly, even if he didn't know what Nico's secret meant. And just harassing the shit out of them. He respected their pronouns even after they tried to kill him though so I think it evens out a bit lmao)

Something I've always loved about drdt in general is how human the characters feel most of the time. All of them have subtle (or not so subtle) things that effect the way they act. Rose's sleepiness isn't just for comedic effect, it's her actively trying not to be conscious, so she doesn't have to retain so much information all the time. Hu isn't only motherly by nature, she feels like being motherly is what gives her purpose, and is the only way she can help everyone. Like everyone has layers and I love them all so much :((

But Ace specifically is just. Goin thru it. Like when he loses his trust in Levi, even though it's played for laughs, it's basically him realizing no one can, or will, protect him, and in turn, he starts being even more of an asshole! (which did not end well for the whole self-preservation bit.)

And the redesign he went through between chapters, which actually has a reason instead of just being a plain redesign??? His hair getting dimmer bc his hair dye is fading and his hair has gone grey with stress??? Him developing eyebags bc of his health getting worse?? (Not good things obviously but yk what I mean I hope 😭). Like I'm such a sucker for smart character designs and ofc drdtdev ate with Ace. And every other drdt character. I love their art sm like actually.

Honestly I just need more of his backstory, and a redemption arch. Or like. A trying to be a little nicer arch at least?

I'm not very good at organizing my thoughts but I hope this gave you some insight on my obsession with this fella. Thanks for the ask! (I also love Hajime btw, my second fav SDRA2 character ✨✨)

I love Coles subtle character development and how the fandom interprets him. At first he was an uptight serious leader who needed to be the solid rock in the formation. Now he’s more relaxed, obviously due to the friends he surrounds himself with. The fandom sees that and exaggerates him as a relaxed big bear kinda guy and i love that for him.

Hi!!!! Ur blog is so cool and I loved the fanart of Yui in the chanel dress! I just noticed that you don't really talk about the mukamis on your blog and I wanted to know your opinions on them?

Ok listen.

To me the Mukamis are boys that I honestly could not get into no matter how hard I tried. They were so painfully meh and I sincerely believe that if the roles were reversed and it was the mukamis in hdb and the sakamakis in mb, the sakamakis would hands down be my favorites. Like they don't even hold a candle to Kanato and we all know how I feel about him.

Ruki actually wasn't bad, but to me he lacked that it factor. Do I think he's attractive? Yeah 100%. I even like some of the scenes in his route and his backstory is fairly compelling, but other than that I don't really hold him in a high regard. He's just so...mid. 😭

Now for Yuma.

To me, he actually made sense. Learning about his connection to Shu and in a way Reiji was actually pretty cool, but my god the way this was executed was pure dog water. Like I've seen fanfiction writers whip up a plot better than whatever drug the rejet writing team was on. As for Yuma himself, I do find him very attractive. He is arguably the best looking mukami and I will stand on that hill. But ffs he is so rough.

Like I know all of the mukamis and sakamakis are sadistic as hell (and I am more than fine with it) but his particular brand of violence turns me off so much, I visibly cringed reading his route.

Kou.

Fucking Kou.

There are no words in any language to describe how much I hate Kou. Appearance wise, his hair is god awful and his voice.

UGHHHHHHH IT WAS SO GRATING AND NOT SEXY IN THE FUCKING SLIGHTEST OMG I COULDN'T LISTEN TO ANY ONE OF HIS CDS WITHOUT CRINGING IT WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE.

WHEN FUCKING KANATO MANAGES TO SOUND HOTTER THAN YOU, THAT IS A SIGN TO REEVALUATE YOUR LIFE.

How can you like Kou when Laito exists? you can tell kou was supposed to be the 'new' laito of the game it was so obvious

I swear everytime that little bitch showed up in Laito's route I was begging for Laito to end that flop once and for all. I take back what I said about Kanato. When Laito, of all characters, manages to be visibly annoyed by your presence, that is a sign to reevaluate how much of a nuisance you are to society. When Subaru punched him, I was at peace. It was something that needed to happen for the greater good.

Kou babe. You can't outdo the doer. You can't outshine the shiner honey.

And you know what the fuck is the worst? HE GOT BETTER ENDINGS THAN AZUSA FUCKING MUKAMI. THE MUKAMI IN WHICH YOU COULD TELL THE WRITERS WERE ACTUALLY TRYING TO DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT.

He is also so amazingly dumb.

Like he's built up to be this psychological mastermind (which is really fucking easy when you have a magical fucking eye) but this guy is so brain dead, that even my low ass standards for him were so taken aback. I'm not going to get into it because if I did there will be a sequel and scholarly journal with a work cited page to back up my findings.

The ONLY compliments I can offer is that is song Devil's Spire is fire, his overall pink jpop candy aesthetic is appealing and his backstory is pretty good.

Anyways fuck Kou he fucking sucks.

Now Azusa.

The way I feel towards Azusa is the same way I felt towards Bonnie in TVD.

His character is so massively disrespected. That's all there is too it. His endings were all garbage. His voice itself was fitting but it was too slow. Like cmon king I know you can get out more than one word per minute.

His design is camp idc.

Look at that. It's so camp. The bandages, nose scar that for some reason never healed, the knife, the gripping of the hair - it all makes sm sense.

omg i have so many!!! quick disclaimer though: i like anime and it's not actually hate or criticism of it, just.... problems i have lmao

ok, let's start with denji!!! he's cool? i actually didn't like him in the beginning, his constant talks about boobs kinda annoyed me, but then i found out that he's 16? constant talks about boobs make a lot, lot of sense now. actually, he's my new standard of anime characters, other main characters also should constant talk about boobs, it's perfectly natural for boys of 15-16 years old. also, he's my little cutie pie and must be protected at all costs.

next, next... we have.... makima? big fan of her design! big fan of her clothes and her huge flapping coat! unfortunately, not a big fan of her manipulations and psychosexual relationship with denji🫤

power? i kinda like power (again, HUGE fan of her design, but i love designs of all characters tbh), she's cool, character wise? but ummmm, the way she uses everyone around her and tries to run away from practically every fight? even though she's, u know, a practically immortal demon? i must admit, that's not very cool of her 😐 like, i know she's a demon and her feelings and emotions are different because of that and maybe some great character development moment will happen to her next, but yeah.... as of now, i don't like her very much (although i do enjoy her dynamics with other characters)

aki is..... ok, ig? i don't have any problems with him, he's the most ok guy in the anime, he doesn't annoy me like some do. however..... (this might be a controversial opinion) i find him kinda boring. he's in some ways similar to sasuke or megumi from jjk but he doesn't have an interesting edge like sasuke did and he doesn't have friendly characters he can play off from and show off his softer side. again, maybe he'll get better in future episodes, he's going through a pretty interesting arc so maybe i'll warm up to him just like i did to megumi. i've got to say though, the way other characters treat him? so unfair!!! he agreed to live with power and denji (absolute nuisances), cook and clean the house for them, and what those two offer him in return? a visit to the hospital where they were acting like assholes and then?? stole his apples??? guys why😭 aki is a good dude

oh, now i guess, it's himeno's turn? and i got to admit, i was very VERY excited for this character to show up, her design is superb, but, um...... the way she practically threw herself at denji? denji who is only sixteen years old? i know she was drunk and going through a lot, but girl...... he's sixteen....... idk how old she is, my guess is somewhere between 22 and 25, which might not seem like a big age difference, but.... he's 16.... he's practically baby, why would she, ugh...... also hate to say this but her leadership skills in the ep with hotel kinda sucked ass? i can (sort of) excuse her not wanting for aki to fight because his sword shortens his life span, but those two newbies who were freaking out all the time and aggravating everyone around them? girl..... why didn't you just lock them in some room or tie them up to bed or SOMETHING, they clearly were bringing down everyone's moral and damaging the result of the operation

one of the newbies, the girl, her name is kobeni, if i'm not mistaken? annoyed me to no end in the beginning BUT when she saved danji? that was cool as shit bro, i really hope she did some self-reflection and will become a cool devil hunter in the future😌

the new guy? the crueler, more ruthless version of kakashi, who drinks and actively harms his two pupils? i love him!!! he's not only super cool (the strongest character! i just got to like a character like that), but also he's voiced by kenjiro tsuda and he did phenomenonal work as joker from fire force and nanami from jjk and his voice is really, really sexy, ok?

other new characters - tendo and the guy that is always with her? oh, they're good, no complaints about them (yet), and i hope we'll get to see more of them in the future

so, in conclusion! i like csm, the op kicks ass, the characters are interesting, but not very likable. i can excuse murder, (some) war crimes, amorality and general ruthlessness but i absolutely draw the line at trying to seduce the main underaged character, i'm sorry 😔
