Last week I stumbled over @deathclassic s "Draw this in your style" Challenge. Never drew Ian before, although I love him to pieces! Ian & Mickey were my everything while watching the show.
So tons of thanks to @deathclassic for giving me this inspiration!

An instant Holiday Classic.
I've been seeing a lot of cute fabricated film posters among the pet accounts these past few weeks. So I thought I would try MY own hand at it.
1) This was drawn by me.
2) No, it's not in a Disney style (because I can't draw that way) nor can I afford to pay a real Disney artist to draw my cats.
3) No, it's not AI.
This post is not meant to be controversial or political nor is it meant to scold anyone in any way. It's simply for the sake of education. So, what is AI exactly and WHY do artists dislike it? AI-generated art is created by computers instead of humans. Typically, AI images are created with an AI image generator. These image generators work by inputting text descriptions of what you're looking for. The image generator will then use a database of existing work found online in order to create what you've requested. These images are then all smushed up together and spit out and create the AI image that you see.
The reason artists hate this is simple:
AI steals and learns from publicly available imagery, period. Many artists have spoken out about no compensation or credit for work that appears in the databases. The programs are trained using databases of art belonging to artists who have not given consent. The implications of AI image generation are massive and could impact everything from film to graphic novels and much much more. It’s basically a question of ethical use.
I get it and I understand that AI is "fun", but it's still important to think about what you’re sharing and where it comes from. Essentially this type of sharing is helping to make stealing OK and we all know that it isn’t. Artists deserve to be credited and compensated for their work even when it’s part of an AI generated image.
So yes, I agree that all of the little Disney Pet posters are super cute but it's not something I will do as an artist. So my version is from my own hands. I welcome any real artists who'd like to make one for us in their own style! I'd be happy to share them!
With Fluff,
Tina.
