This is also one of the reasons the farm system seems ill-thought out to me from a purely pragmatic standpoint.

The demons have to have an understanding of this after breeding humans for roughly a thousand years and learning of the differences between demon and human genetic make-ups, on top of Ray making a point to cite how humans are influenced by their environment to back-up his reasoning about why they won't increase security if Norman ran away to avoid being shipped out. The difference between "I like this a lot" and "this is a part of my identity" is so nebulous. In many ways, I've found it a lot easier to figure out of something is a kintype than if it's a hearttype. Especially if the thing is something you've liked for years or decades, which has followed you through several stages of your life, and consistently brings you comfort. Am I hearted with all my favorite movies? They're kinda integral to who I am. Or am I only hearted with the one(s?) that have directly impacted my development as a person?

this is just an opinion not here to start Disk Horse or anything but some people still believe themselves to be superior for being anti self diagnosis and it really just shows such a lack of class consciousness and disability awareness.

"you cant self diagnose only a doctor can diagnose you" doctors diagnose people with functional neurological disorder to avoid treating their so far unexplained symptoms such as seizures and ticcing episodes and other things. doctors are not infallible. you can not tell me that the doctor who believes in oppositional defiance disorder and FND and told my sister she cant be depressed because she took a shower that day knows more about serious health issues than someone whos done extensive research on their symptoms and lives with those symptoms every single day.

you can not tell me it is not my place to self diagnose when it costs tens of thousands of dollars to get an autism assessment. you cant tell me that i dont know enough when ive been researching for years and the waitlist, on top of the price, is 3 years At Least.

if youve never experienced a healthcare crisis (lack of doctors literally countrywide and underfunding due to horrible government practices) you dont get to speak on what people can and can not think about themselves and their health and/or disabilities.

not to mention the help self diagnosis can be for fat people, black people and other people of colour specifically women of colour, trans people, disabled people, anyone whos ever been misdiagnosed, and anyone else whos ever been neglected or mistreated by doctors and feels (rightfully) distrustful of them
