thinking about how the (greek) big three swore to never sire any more demigod children because those children are just too powerful (dangerous) and also thinking about how the characters that, arguably, seem to have the greatest proclivity for cruelty in the name of justice or vengeance are also the (greek) big three children... there's something there, a connection to be made I'm sure of it

#and its not just cruelty... #its like this spiraling into... darkness? power? #for percy and nico at least #thalia we dont get to see as much and I need to reread ttc #but like... she's SO tempted by power #its like she has to actively fight against those base instincts to rule (like her father) #when she chooses the hunters #she removes her role (her power her agency) in the great prophecy #and idk I feel like there's subtext there that she's worried what she would have done had she been the prophecy child #but sincerely there's something about greek big three kids thats off kilter #and that aspect only gets more pronounced as time goes on and they get older #like not only are they scarily powerful #but their mental states are just... messy #almost like in comparison to other demigods #they're a little more god a little less mortal if that makes sense #and they have to fight to maintain that mortality (their humanity)

Genuinely like the idea that Great Crusade era marines were abstractly and practically Better than modern ones. I like the image of 30k era Marines being various flavors of demigod knights in personalized armor, while 40k ones are pale imitations, mass produced in flesh and armor, with even their mightiest champions looking slightly unworthy of relic wargear. I think this also adds to the flavor of Chaos Marines, considering how many of them would belong to this mythical and idealized class of warrior, and yet became corrupted anyway.

When Cain kills Abel he’s like God everyone will know that I’m a murderer and try to kill me. So God stamps his forehead with a sign that says do not kill.

The important part to me though is that there were already other people around. And in fact Cain goes on to meet a wife and found a city.

What does all this mean about the logistics of how humans showed up? I’m not a biblical literalist and I think that most of the Bible is just metaphor so on a spiritual level I don’t care but overthinking this is fun anyways. My personal headcanon is that God took out another one of Adam’s bones and planted pieces of it around to grow more people like a human themed Johnny Appleseed and then a bunch of horny angels also contributed.

Very cool and not heartbreaking at all for the PJO show to emphasize that Percy is an outsider not only because he's new to the whole demigod thing, but also because he doesn't know the rules of being a traumatized kid with all the daddy/mommy issues possible
