I’m back from my rock show! I got some Cool Rocks!
First, the agates.
Tumblr media
Another Turkish stick agate to join my collection! I can't get enough of this stuff. These form as pseudomorphs of selenite. A bunch of criss-crossing selenite crystals grow inside an empty pocket in the rock, and then the space around them fills in with agate. Eventually, the selenite crystals dissolve, and the hollows they leave behind are also filled with agate, preserving a record of their shapes!
Tumblr media
Bonus! This pair has a nice green fluorescence.
Tumblr media
Here is another Turkish agate. (Almost all of today's agates are from Turkey; Turkey produces some beautiful agate specimens.) This one has a really interesting pattern to its banding.
Tumblr media
I actually picked this one out for its fluorescence, which is a stunning bright green.
Tumblr media
Also from Turkey! Growing inside a super cool crust of volcanic rhyolite, this agate is called sagenite. Sagenite agate has a fibrous appearance because it is a pseudomorph of a fibrous zeolite mineral.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The last two from Turkey: a pretty red specimen with a sparkly central vug, and a weirdo with squiggles of yellow. What’s going on with that guy?
Tumblr media
This one is from China! The red and orange agates from this locale are called "Fighting Blood" agate. I already have a Fighting Blood in my collection, but I thought this one was neat because its vug is full of amethyst!
Here are some things which are not agate!
Tumblr media
This one is a lead mineral called plumbogummite! Specifically, these crystals are a pseudomorph of another lead mineral called pyromorphite. Over time, the lime green pyromorphite crystals were slowly replaced by the tealy plumbogummite. In a few of the broken crystals, you can still see a green pyromorphite core!
Tumblr media
Hyalite opal! This rock has been on my bucket list, I am so excited. This form of opal is known for its water-clear, jelly-like globule formations. Though typically a colorless mineral, this specimen is tinted yellow due to iron staining. It’s also a mineral famous for its bright fluorescence… but this specimen’s glow is utterly unimpressive. :c I will be on the lookout for a more glowy specimen at future shows. Honestly, I’m just happy to finally own some at all!
This year, I also got some high-end mineral specimens! Take a look at these beauties.
Tumblr media
Roselite! This rare, toxic mineral is full of arsenic. If I ate it I would probably die! Roselite’s deep red color comes from the cobalt in its chemical structure, and makes it highly sought after by collectors. This specimen is showing off a well defined lenticular crystal habit! Again, I cannot overstress how rare this stuff is. I spent… an inadvisable amount of money on it.
Tumblr media
Oh, the best and most sparkly boy. This is wulfenite! I have wanted a piece in my collection for so long, and I’ve been waiting for just the right specimen to come along. It's a lead mineral, and it forms the coolest square, tabular crystals! This mineral is extremely brittle, which makes large, intact crystals of it very hard to find. But check out the huge tabular crystal on the right side of this specimen, it’s bigger than my thumbnail!!
And finally, I could not resist buying something silly.
Tumblr media
This is Tully. He's a plush Tully Monster, which is my state fossil!

Witch!Reader x Bat/Vampire!Eddie Munson Series Masterlist The Grimoire The Timeline
Warnings: canon typical violence, horror genre typical violence, swearing, animal death, no beta, warnings updated each chapter.
Synopsis: No witch has stepped foot in Hawkins since 1845, but when Vecna opens the ground and poisons the town, a voice begins to call to you. Have you been brought back to this cursed place to heal the townspeople’s wounds, to save a hexed bat that always finds its way to you, or to redefine your history with a reunion 150 years in the making?
Chapter Summary: Death and transformation, or: how to unhex. 2714 words.
Tumblr media
1843
The pit was four graves wide and had been dug as deep as the earth allowed. The bodies were rolled in unceremoniously and without care.
“We should take their teeth,” someone in the coven suggested; witches giggled.
“Hush!” your aunt yelled. “We do not revel in death. Nor do we trade in keepsakes of evil.”
The vampires would take days to burn and you wondered if their colony would be warned off by the smell. Would they see the dark plumes and know that witches had discovered a means to their end? Would everything change now the invulnerable were killable?
“Amabel, take Hannah and Fern, go to the village and treat the wounded. The rest of you… We have work to do.”
1986
The question burned on your tongue. An acidic bubbling. In the same way you knew he’d been strengthened enough by the dog to find more food, he knew you wanted to know what that food was.
“No humans,” the vampire told you. “This… this hurts you still.”
You nodded. “It does,” you agreed. “Why aren’t you…” Was there a diplomatic way of asking a monster why they weren’t acting monstrously?
“I can control it,”
“But animal blood isn’t enough,” you stated.
“No. It isn’t.”
There was more wrong with, well… all of it, than there was right. Yet, you persisted. You blinked yourself out of his gaze and turned to the kitchen. As you began to collect what you’d need to try to uncurse him, you spoke.
“There is a hierarchy in the coven. And, while it’s true that the higher up they are, the stronger their magic is, there is still not a huge difference between each of us. If we want our magic to be more powerful, then we cast together.”
The vampire had moved to sit on the couch. He looked unnatural there, but he was trying to put you at ease. At the very least, he was listening intently.
“So, that’s good and bad for us now. Bad because I can’t be any stronger than I am. Good because my magic is comparable to that of the witch that cursed you.” You turned to him suddenly. “Do you know who cursed you? Or why?”
“No. I have only ever been cursed,”
“Oh… And, ah, when do you normally, you know, turn back?”
A small smile played on the vampire’s lips. “By the sunrise of the next day,”
“Okay. Well, that’s only a couple hours away, so we better get to work. And we still need to give you a name if we can’t find yours. I had an idea for that actually.”
You couldn’t say if he had moved at vampire speed or if you’d just been preoccupied with digging through your crystals to find a selenite wand, but he was at your side.
“You must sleep,”
“I can sleep when we’re done,” you answered, not looking at him.
“It does not hurt to be the creature,” he lied. It didn’t physically hurt, not since you had healed Vecna’s curse. It hurt to have all that awareness though. Like he was locked in a cage too small for his body.
“You don’t trust me? Trying to postpone this in case I accidentally blow you up?”
The vampire took hold of both your hands, the selenite falling to the floor. He saw the fear flash across your face but it didn’t loosen the grip he had.
“I trust in your magic. In you…”
“You’re not meant to. We’re not meant to… work together,”
“I know.” He let you go and took a step back.
Each of his movements that you could track, you knew were deliberate… permissive.
“You remember?” you asked.
“No. I… feel it.”
A vampire’s hatred for a witch ran that deep then. Born immortal enemies.
“Maybe you’re right. I do need sleep. I feel bad just leaving you to turn though.”
He looked one part sceptical one part emotionally devasted. It was a strange expression. “I will stay. When I am like that, I can sleep too,”
“Yeah… Okay… The idea I had, about your name, was another spell. I don’t know if it will work, because of the whole… being cursed… but it’s worth a try. Now. Quickly. Then I’ll sleep.” You weren’t sure why you were pitching it like a kid asking for their bedtime to be pushed back.
“Quickly,” he repeated, the word sharp in his mouth.
“Yeah. It’s, ah… Come here.”
He followed you around the kitchen counter and to the coffee table that had become your makeshift altar. When you motioned for him to sit opposite you, he did. Reaching out for your bag on the couch, you dragged it to you and retrieved your little notebook. With a piece of torn paper in one hand, you lit a candle with the other.
“Guiding spirits, lend charity,
Lend not misgivings, lend clarity.
What is in a name, a truth be told,
What he answers to, let unfold.”
The paper burned over the flame while you cast. You held it out to the vampire, and he let you drop it into his open palm. The fire did not burn him.
“Close your hand,” you told him.
His eyes flicked up to yours briefly before back down to where his fingers curled around the disintegrating paper. His head cocked to the side and you smiled. You could tell he was surprised at the feeling.
“Open.”
When his fist unclenched, a piece of paper laid on his palm, unburnt and smooth. You could see it was no longer blank either.
“What does it say?”
The vampire looked at the letters and tried to remember if they had once meant something to him. Nothing came to mind. He read emotionless, “Edward.”
Dawn broke and you’d not tumbled from your dreams.
He had returned to his bat state at first light, flown silently into the bedroom, and watched you sleep. By mid-morning, he scurried under the bed, nestling into the nest you’d created him on that first day.
The phone rang just before midday, slamming you into consciousness.
“Hello,” you croaked, feeling as seedy as if you’d been on a bender.
Something had happened in Hawkins. Something inexplicable, said the person on the phone. There were injured, a couple of dozen including kids. “Could you come? You’re on the list from the high school aid centre. We could use all the help we could get.”
Two paracetamol tablets and a glass of water later, you were out the door.
Vampires, when killing unchecked, ripped throats clean out. Blood would drench the body and the ground beneath it. You would know that it wasn’t just about hunger. It was about sending a message. Vecna was sending a message too.
Arms were snapped at unnatural angles. Eye sockets bled. Bones sat jagged, sticking out from fleshy wounds. It was not just a massacre. It was a show of force.
You worked as fast as you could, focussing on those that would need your magic to survive their injuries. Nobody could understand what had happened to the dozens of people, so it was fine that nobody would understand the healing either.
While you listened to the screaming and chaos, you watched out for the child soldier teens. None of them appeared, something you didn’t know how to feel about. Hawkins’ mayor, however, did show. He stood uselessly, the horror before him beyond comprehension. It took him too long to focus his attention, demanding a phone of the people around him, then yelling down the line for more resources, the national guard, and a county-wide evacuation.
It was well into the night before you paused to take a breath. The woman working beside you handed you a bottle of water and a sympathetic smile. “You should take a second,”
“Yeah,” you replied, running your hands through your hair. “I’ll just be outside if you need me.”
The night was cold. You found a bench seat to rest on. Before you could shake thoughts out of your head though, the flutter of wings drew your attention up. The bat landed next to you.
“Hey,” you greeted.
It didn’t make sense, the way you felt about the bat. You scooped him up and hugged him to your body like he wasn’t a vampire. He did his part too; fluffing his body and chittering at you. It was him. But it also wasn’t.
You pictured a Venn diagram with ‘the bat’s personality’ as the lefthand circle and ‘the vampire’s personality’ as the righthand one. The crossover in the middle, maybe that was who he was before he was cursed.
“I haven’t asked you about any of this. Did you see it? When he first came? Remind me to ask you when, you know, you can talk again.”
The list started to write itself in your head.
“There’s probably a lot of things we should talk about… I don’t know… I don’t know how we’ve not talked about some it.”
Specifically, you were thinking about the eradication of his kind. Did he know that he was the last of his species? Did he know the hunters were witches? Did he want to know how many you’d personally killed? If he asked, you wouldn’t have been able to answer. You hadn’t kept count.
“You should go. I’m going to be here for a while more. I’ll come home as soon as I can. Stay close, though. It’s dangerous out there.”
The bat silently hopped out of your clutches and onto the seat before flying up and out into the darkness, with the word home playing on repeat in his mind.
...
The exhaustion was more profound than just bone deep. It was in the marrow. In the cells and the atoms of your very being. It took all the willpower you had to drag your feet up the stairs of the trailer and collapse on the couch.
You had been helping and healing for two days straight, not stopping to observe a good night’s sleep. It was close to midnight the day after you’d got the call when you returned home. Hours and hours of misery and pain.
The bat had already snuck his way into the trailer. He chittered at your return, only to quickly quieten down when he saw that state you were in. Too tired to offer a greeting, you were passed out before he’d made it over to you.
It took some work, but the bat managed to clutch the throw blanket he’d once used to hide his naked vampire form and drag it over your body. He hoped it would provide some warmth, and maybe even comfort.
He ate fruit throughout the night, ducking out of the trailer once to assess the state of Hawkins, then returned for sunrise. The bat got into his under-the-bed hideout and fell asleep.
Like you were taking turns to guard each other, you woke up just after he went to bed. You checked on him in his nest then left the bedroom.
Although you had not really had enough rest and your mind was still a little fractured, not able to unwind from the sight of Vecna’s victims, you started to prepare for the spell to undo a hex.
On the fourth day in Hawkins, you had spent the day on the road looking for Hawthorn. You had been smart, utilising your time well. It was that day you stocked up on a lot of mystic ingredients, trinkets, and inventory. Now, almost a week later, you were grateful for it all.
In a large bowl, you prepared a potion that would be poured into a salt bath. First, a blend of dried petals. From a daffodil, a measure of forgiveness. The white star of the Ornithogalum, to symbolise atonement and reconciliation. More yellow from a black-eyed Susan, an offering of endurance and survival. And finally, the acanthus, for enduring life.
Next you collected a white candle, the selenite wand you’d already fished out, and one large king protea flower, standing proud on its everlasting stem.
The last thing to do was to write the spell.
The bat had eaten all your fruit. He ate a lot for such a little guy. As you stood in the kitchen deciding on what you would have for lunch, you thought about how, in your mind he was still ‘the bat.’ Technically he was Edward. That didn’t seem right. It didn’t even really fit the vampire.
The milk was expired and you were out of mac and cheese. Using the last dregs of the orange juice, you had a bowl of cereal while sitting on the couch and staring at the spot where a television should go.
“I need to go shopping,” you said to yourself. Yeah, you had all the witchy supplies you needed. As for literally everything else, you were running on empty.
By mid-afternoon you had burnt through two teapots of rooibos. Thankfully it was a caffeine-free tea, otherwise you’d have been bouncing off the walls. The sugar you’d heaped into each cup was doing a good job of providing energy enough.
The spell was ready by early evening, just in time for the bat to emerge from the bedroom.
“How did you sleep?” you asked him. It made you laugh when he chittered a response. You’d miss that sound when he was free of his animal cage.
You showed him what you had achieved during the day, then collected everything and headed to the bathroom. “I don’t know how common it is for trailers like this to have baths, but I’m taking it as a good omen,” you laughed.
As you filled the bath with warm water, you stirred in pink salt. You glanced over at the bat. “Are you nervous?” you asked. He shuffled on the spot a little. “It’s okay if you are… Can I tell you something though? I’m going to miss you like this. Maybe I’ll need to get myself a familiar after all, huh?”
When the bath was full, you poured your petal blend in, then sat the selenite and protea on the side of the tub. You knelt on the floor, knees digging into the cheap tiles.
“You’ll need to be in the water, then I’ll light this candle and start the spell,” you explained to the bat. “If you turn back into your… other form before I finish, you need to stay calm and stay in the water. If you remember to, holding the selenite and protea will help, but it’s okay if you don’t.”
The selenite focused energy and brought clarity to the spell. The protea flower symbolised transformation.
The bat flittered on the water's surface, searching for a way to remain in the bath. It took him a few seconds to find a position that worked; he floated on his back with his wings spread. You smiled at him, holding in a giggle.
“Here we go,” you told him, to which he offered a single small squeak.
With a match, you lit the candle and placed it by the protea.
“From Ancient times this power came,
For witch to have but none to reign.
Troubled blood fixed in a curse,
We seek to change, to heal, to reverse.”
The bat was suddenly pulled beneath the surface of the water. You yelped and started to move but quickly stopped. Breathe, you said to yourself. Between the water’s movement and all the dried petals, you couldn’t make out what was happening in the bath. Then, just as quickly as the disappearance, an entire body shot out from the water, hands grasping at the side of the tub, clawed fingers digging in.
Edward’s mouth sat agape for a moment before his eyes darted to you. You held his stare and hoped he found solace in your face.
It took him only seconds to compose himself. With tentative hands, Edward reached out and took hold of the selenite wand and protea. He looked at you, the candle’s flame reflected in his eyes. You nodded once, then continued.
“Of earth, of water, and of fire,
This curse or hex we retire.
From Ancient times this power came,
I use it now for this soul’s reclaim.”
End Note: The Grimoire and timeline have been updated (links above). There is also a very special post dedicated to the unhexing spell; click here and show it some love.

days of the week with astrology and magic
Tumblr media
in astrology, the different days of the week are ruled by different planets, so the themes of this particular planet are strengthened on their respective day. you can utilize this to your advantage when looking at transits, when performing a spell, or even just in your day to day life. this post will kind of go over how i translate this extra energy into my day.
IMPORTANT: i personally feel that how the planet is manifested in your birth chart also plays a part in how you will translate this energy. for example: if you have Sun in Aries, you might have a more active Sunday than a Pisces Sun. keeping in mind your natal chart will be key in really connecting with the planets.
Sunday:
ruled by the Sun
themes of personality, stamina, vitality, energy, and matters of the self are all heightened
although i don't agree with the "Sunday reset" trend from an astrological perspective, i think why people feel the need to be productive is the extra burst of energy the Sun gives us
personally, i feel Sunday is a day for active rest. like maybe cleaning one room instead of the whole house or taking a walk instead of a really intense work out. the key is making the energy burst sustainable.
i think taking at least some of this day to spend time with yourself is important as well. the Sun rules our basic personality and ego, so it feels natural to connect with these things on this day
Leo is ruled by the Sun, so any of your Leo placements might be highlighted today
for all of my witch girls, Sunday is associated with Apollo and Helios/Sol
Sunday is a great day for any workings involving success, healing, ambition, career, or happiness
connect with the Sun through "sunny colors" like yellow, orange, gold, red, or even pinks or browns
crystals/metals: gold, sunstone, amber, citrine, carnelian
herbs: bergamot, celandine, hawthorn, hyacinth, marjoram, citrus
my must do's for Sunday: meditate for longer than normal, spend lots of time in the sunshine, a little bit of physical activity, and anything that brings me joy
Monday:
ruled by the Moon
themes of emotions, moods, instincts, intuition, and feelings are all heightened
this is a huge(!) reason why i don't agree with a Monday work week. Monday is such an amazing day for rest. it doesn't want to start anything, much less a five day exhausting work week.
i feel Monday is a really good day for shadow work or journaling, because you're able to be more in tune/in touch with your emotions. finding ways to connect to your Moon placement on this day will help this process.
it's normal to feel emotionally drained on Monday, so taking time to give yourself lots of rest is really important. working or spending time with people isn't bad, but make sure you're giving yourself time as well.
Cancer is ruled by the Moon, so any of your Cancer placements might be highlighted today
for all of my witch girls, Monday is associated with Artemis/Diana and Selene/Luna
Monday is a great day for any workings involving moods, good rest, physic connections, or family/maternal matters
connect with the Moon through colors like white, silver, black, and very light or very dark blue
crystals/metals: silver, moonstone, amethyst, selenite, labradorite, pearl, opal, quartz, onyx, obsidian
herbs: frankincense, yew, cypress, garlic, lavender, mugwort, pine, sage, oak leaves, almonds, amaranth flower
my must do's for Monday: shadow work, loooots of sleep and naps, comfort movies/shows, a good cry
Tuesday:
ruled by Mars
themes of desire, action, competition, passion, and anger are all heightened
Tuesday should be the new Monday. it's a great day to start new things (like a five day work week lmao), to begin projects, to plan out your dreams, and to figure out your desires
this is definitely a day to be active. Mars holds rulership over exercise and physical activity so getting your steps in with the extra energy he gives will help
this day is also underrated as far as creative endeavors go, definitely tap into your creative side on Tuesday and you'll be surprised with the results
Aries (and Scorpio to some astrologers) is ruled by Mars, so any of your Aries placements might be highlighted today
for all of my witch girls, Tuesday is associated with Ares/Mars
Tuesday is a great day for any workings involving courage, inner strength, sex, psychic defense, and banishing
connect with Mars through "strong colors" like red, black, purple, or dark grey
crystals/metals: iron, onyx, bloodstone, garnet, ruby, carnelian
herbs: heavy spices, garlic, oil, basil, camphor, black peppers
my must do's for Tuesday: exercise, try something new if i can, and think about my goals/dreams
Wednesday:
ruled by Mercury
themes of the mind, communication, reason, intelligence, language, travel, and intellect are all heightened
this is a great day for logical decision making! your mind will be more alert and clear for problem solving and answers will come easier to you. personally, i stay away from very emotional matters on this day. this is not to say that Mercury is without emotion because that's far from the truth, but it definitely does take a logical approach to things that our emotional state sometimes cannot get behind. i like to leave the feeling decisions for Monday and use Mercury's intellect for other things
this is also a really good day for communicating. your words will be perceived by others easier, and you will understand others easier as well. just for example, a work meeting on Wednesday will be clear, focused, and efficient, while a work meeting on Monday might bring in unwanted emotions
i loooove studying on Wednesdays. i find it so much easier to focus and actually retain information. i will dedicate most of my day to studying or learning. also, you don't have to be in school to "study." i study astrology or mythology or just things that interest me, and you can learn about anything you'd like! knowledge is neverending
Gemini and Virgo are ruled by Mercury, so any of your Gemini or Virgo placements might be highlighted today
for all of my witch girls, Mercury is associated with Hermes/Mercury
Mercury is a great day for any workings involving communication, education, travel, mental agility, and writing
connect with Mercury through colors like green, blue, yellow, gold, or silver
crystals/metals: mercury, hematite, amber, citrine, peridot, agate
herbs: crocus, almonds, strawberries, lemons
my must do's for Wednesday: study and use my words as much as possible :)
Thursday:
ruled by Jupiter
themes of luck, growth, expansion, optimism, abundance, and understanding are all heightened
Thursday is like a breath of fresh air to me. my thoughts are a lot more positive and i'm able to see things through a new lens that may have gotten jumbled throughout the week.
managing gratitude on this day is so so important. we can't be optimistic for the future and hold good luck if we aren't appreciate of what we have now.
i really like to focus on my goals this day as well. taking stock of what i have and what i have left to achieve and letting myself get excited over what's to come. this is also an amaaaazing day for manifestation!
Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, so any of your Sagittarius placements might be highlighted today
for all of my witch girls, Jupiter is associated with Zeus/Jupiter
Thursday is a great day for any workings involving wealth, expansion, political power, legal affairs, business, and spirituality
connect with Jupiter through colors like sky blue, gold, silver, yellow, and purple
crystals/metals: tin, amethyst, citrine, sapphire, quartz, blue topaz
herbs: cinnamon, oak, olive oil, allspice, anise, coffee, grape, wine
my must do's for Thursday: manifest, work on business endeavors
Friday:
ruled by Venus
themes of attraction, prosperity, love, beauty, art, and harmony are all heightened
this is one of the days of the week i actually agree with in the modern work week. in my head, Venus gets split into two: half rules Taurus and finances, and half rules Libra and love. i think ending the work week on a Friday works because we spend half of the day making money, and half of the day with pleasure.
Friday is a really good day to spend time with people, but it's also a great self care day. Venus rules beauty, so i usually do my weekly beauty routine on Fridays.
personally, i like to spend at least some time in nature on Fridays as well and some time to appreciate art, which could be listening to your favorite albums, going to a museum, watching a beautifully animated show or any show/movie honestly, reading a book, etc.
hobbies are a big Friday thing for me as well. Venus rules creativity so tapping into that creative side will be especially easy on Fridays, and you can use it to do literally anything! paint, write, sing, dance, knit, draw, whatever you want <3
Taurus and Libra are ruled by Venus, so any of your Taurus or Libra placements might be highlighted today
for all of my witch girls, Venus is associated with Aphrodite/Venus
Venus is a great day for any workings involving love, beauty, nature, money
connect with Venus through colors like green, pink, red, or gold
crystals/metals: copper, brass, garnet, ruby, rose quartz, pearl, diamond, sapphire, opal
herbs: rose, anemone, apple, daffodil, myrtle, pomegranate, vanilla, jasmine, basil, honey, lavender, lemon, coconut
my must do's for Sunday: creative stuff, hobbies, work a little bit, spend time with loved ones
Saturday:
ruled by Saturn
themes of structure, law, discipline, restriction, responsibility, obligation, and law are all heightened
this is my "Sunday reset" day. i like to run all my leftover errands from the week, do all my chores/deep clean my living space, grocery shop, and just get everything done
this is a really good day to address and adjust your habits. Saturn craves discipline so he wants you to get your life together lmao. this is the day to start things, more specifically start good habits and end bad ones. for example, if you decided to start eating healthier, you should start on Saturday.
Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, so any of your Capricorn placements might be highlighted today
for all of my witch girls, Saturday is associated with Kronos/Saturn
Saturday is a great day for any workings involving finances, life obstacles, property, and habits
connect with Saturn through colors like black, dark grey, and brown
crystals/metals: lead, black onyx, hematite, smoky quartz, jet, black tourmaline
herbs: garlic, rosemary, cypress, dill, yew, myrrh, bay, clove, snakeweed, thyme, onion, witchhazel
my must do's for Saturday: deep clean, spiritual cleanse, errands, responsibilities

re; pinned post on black tourmaline meme... so i have a lot of crystals (use em in spells mostly idk what i'm doing with them) how do you use black tourmaline as a ward, is it like a charm you carry with you? :>
Alrighty buckle up because I'm about to ramble.
Black tourmaline is absolutely one of my favourite crystals, like actually in my top 3.
I keep little bowls of it around, because it is incredible at absorbing the negative energy off of stuff. So at the end of the day—especially if I was around lots of people—I'll take any crystal jewelry off and plop it in my black tourmaline bowl to cleanse it. I also have a black tourmaline necklace my mother made for me that I wear out on days I know I'm going to be interacting with a lot of people, which I also make sure to cleanse in my bowl.
When it comes to objects, I smoke cleanse first with sandalwood incense and then plop them in the bowl so any straggling negativity can get cleansed too.
Now, black tourmaline is not self-cleansing, so you'll need to cleanse it every so often. Enter blue kyanite, also in my top 3. Blue kyanite is an absolute beast when it comes to cleansing other crystals, even better than selenite in my opinion, so I use them together. I have a layer of blue kyanite in my bowl, and then a layer of black tourmaline on top. You may be wondering why have the black tourmaline? Shouldn't I just cut out the middleman? I don't recommend that based on my personal experience. The black tourmaline sucks the negative energy out of crystals and other objects, then the blue kyanite dissolves that negative energy. They work together.
When it comes to using black tourmaline as a ward, it's actually quite simple. Take a few chunks of it and put them in the corners of your room, or around your house. Every couple of weeks, cleanse them however you prefer that is safe (I prefer blue kyanite as mentioned above) and then put them back. The black tourmaline will absorb any negativity within the space they occupy. I would recommend using a black tourmaline ward in tandem with other kinds of wards, and not by itself.
As a charm, just carrying it in your pocket or as jewelry is fantastic since it'll suck all the negativity you interact with on a daily basis. Just make sure to cleanse it every time you use it of course. I find that black tourmaline is perfect for helping to absorb the evil eye (a particularly nasty one may still linger though), and is a huge help to me when working with people, since it absorbs any negativity that is sticking to you. I always had black tourmaline with me when I used to work retail (and omg could I tell the difference in the few days I forgot it), and it's always with me when I read palms. Lots of negativity can get stuck to you when you're interacting with other people.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any additional questions :)

This piece is an old favorite of mine! It features Galgithor (The cryo depicted a couple of posts back) exploring a definitely toxic cave, with huge selenite crystals stained green from what is most likely mine drainage. Galgithor’s story takes place in an ARPG about a post-apocalyptic scenario involving dinosaurs, so there’s all sorts of relics of bygone human activity for her to explore.

MOON!
Far from being a barren rock, the Moon of Earth actually contains quite an amount of life. Deep inside it lies caverns and seas, created by the intelligent race of insects that developed there to survive the climate changes there. Within it, Fungus-like plants and microbial mats are common outside the colonies of the ant-like rulers of the planet. The seas house might aquatic beasts--and at least one Great Old One.
The Rulers of the Moon are the Selenites. These beings resemble humanoid ants and rely on simple and magical advancements to control their planet. Most of the footmen wield spears or strange, almost semi-automatic crossbows. While some workers can use cannon-like weapons that use crystals to send charged energy against their prey. Like Ants, the Selenites are divided into casts that are born for specific jobs, though they are not all born from a single queen, they behave as though they are a unified force. Because of this, war was unheard of until the arrival of humans in 1899--shortly followed by the Sarmaks. The humans introduced the concept of war to the Selenites, and they were appalled by it. Thankfully, however, it prepared them for the eventual repulsion of the Sarmaks. They remain, however, extremely Xenophobic, but they are polite and courteous with their prisoners. They would much rather have them live and serve the colony than die a needless death. Also on the moon are hideous Moon Beasts, servants of Nyarlethotep who live in the wild caverns of the moon. They seek out unwary sentients to slaughter, torture, or do other horrific things to. The Selenites generally avoid them, as they are so much more powerful than they are physically, and their abhorrence of war prevents them from attacking the Moon Beasts directly. Moon Calves are huge, caterpillar-like animals that are the cattle of the Selenites (though wild ones exist). They are generally docile grazers, but bulls can and will attack if the season is right. Beings from the moon suffer greatly in the earth's atmosphere. They receive a -2 for all strength-related tasks, quarter jumping distances and the inhabitant must roll Constitution (not doubled) rolls or risk becoming fatigued easily. They also suffer a -2 to their combat score from the gravity differential. The reverse occurs for humans and earth-tolerant beings that go to the moon. They gain a +2 to all strength-related tasks (no effect on life points), Quadruple jumping distances, and add +4 to all constitution rolls related to fatigue.

R Jar Kit, Started November 11, 2023 - Finished January 26, 2024. Explanation:
Instead of building a jar for you, I figured I’d make a kit for you to make your own. There’s more stuff than would ever fit in the jar so you pick what you want and add whatever you want to make it your own! Ingredients have been cleansed during the January 2024 full moon. Dump out the stuff out of the tube jar, take a quick inventory. Put some of my salt blend in the bottom of the jar and start building!
There are a lot of threes in this kit. I don’t know why, but 3 has been speaking to me lately, it’s weird because that’s my least favorite number.
In the tube jar:
- Yuanbao Sycees (3) ~ Chinese symbol to bring wealth
- Miniature crack ‘n’ glow sticks (3) ~ for visibility/clarity. Either in the jar or around it. Crack them and just toss when they run out.
- Steel ball bearings (3) ~ agitators to help mix different energies
- Mini seashells (3) ~ grounding
- Silver imbolc charms (3) ~ these 3 charms were from a spell I did 2 Imbolcs ago. The spell worked really well so they have good luck!
- Ferrero Rocher charms (3) ~ bring sweetness, cuteness, and levity (because they are hilarious)
- Springtime green flower charms (3) ~ more Imbolc energy
- Essential oil peppermint balls (3) ~ these are in a tiny jar inside the jar. Brings healing, purity, smells good.
- Rose quartz points (3) ~ love
- Selenite sticks (3) ~ cleansing and will hold the energy longer. Either put one or more inside the jar or just keep them nearby.
- Tiger eye sphere ~ courage, empowerment.
- Man and woman capsules ~ physical representation of you and D for bonding.
- Cinder block ~ grounding, stability.
- Skull dice ~ luck
3 rainbow glass ramekins:
- Sawdust from a home project ~ symbolizing building and maintaining a stable home environment.
- Sterile egg shell - protection. I pulled the membrane and boiled the shells so they are safe to handle.
- My personal salt blend ~ layer in the bottom of the spell jar to cleanse it.
Crystals:
- Large jar of moonstone/labradorite feldspar chips ~ moonstone has been calling me lately so it’s there for good luck, but also to help bring physical and mental balance.
- Small jar of super seven chips ~ healing, put you in touch with your spiritual side
- Rose quartz heart and sphere ~ relationship harmony
- Clear quartz cluster ~ keep it nearby the jar you create to point more energy to it.
- Labradorite tower ~ just for fun, I want it to stay with that quartz cluster, they kinda “belong together” in my mind.
- Amethyst cluster - protector and symbol of Imbolc. Amethyst does whatever you want it to.
- Ocean Jasper palm stone ~ one of my favorite common lucky stones.
- Quartz tumbles (3) ~ Put in a triangle on your altar to draw more energy
- Rainbow flourite chips ~ pulls out your negative shit.
- Quartz points ~ energy aggregators.
Tools:
- Moon water from Jan 25th full moon
- Sealing wax spoon w/melts
- Mixing spoon
- Spell candle
- Knife
- Mini book (for write-and-burns)
- Palo santo block
- White sage leaves. I hate using the huge bundles of sage, so these are just easy one-time-use for burning.
My salt blend, made in 2020:
I made this salt blend, using different types of salt. Each element is represented, so it can be used for any purpose. Salt is used for cleansing, so I use it as the base for all of my projects. You can put some in the very bottom of your spell jar, sprinkle around the outside of the house for protection, put a pinch in your bath water, to cleanse your mind and body. Ingredients:
Himalayan Pink Salt, from Pakistan (Air)
Black Lava Salt, from Hawaii (Fire)
Flake Salt, from Sweden (Earth)
Grey Salt, from Guerande, France (Water)
(Also used: Sea Salt, from my trip to Salt Lake City, Utah. Kosher salt, from the grocery store. Black Salt, made by a fellow practitioner.)

Crystals Guide for Beginners
Tumblr media
A lot of the stereotypical “Witch” “Gypsy” or ” Fortune Teller” shows a woman covered in rings and earrings ,long skirts, long hair tucked up under a scarf and a huge gleaming crystal ball. She gazes into it and tells you who you’ll love, if you’ll get your dream job or if you’ll move to your dream home. While this doesn’t accurately represent most of the people in the witch community,( I can’t speak for the outfit cause that’s how I dress a lot. .lol) it’s not very often you find a witch who doesn’t own crystals.
Tumblr media
There’s been an increase in the interest of crystals, their energy vibrations and their ability to influence emotional, mental and physical healing. And they are so pretty to collect and display it’s hard not to have them!
I can’t remember what my first actual crystal was, I’ve always been the person that collected the shiny rocks as a kid. But I know since I’ve gotten involved with Witchcraft and energy healing that I have quite a few.( and I’ve probably been told a few times that I don’t need anymore.. Lies!)
I’ve gathered a few crystals I think everyone should have as well as info on how to cleanse and charge them and how to use them around your home and work.
How does a rock help with my pain?(depression/insomnia/etc)
Tumblr media
Now if you are new to crystals and crystal healing, it may seem to be a farce or a fad. A chunk of stone is going to do what? It seems impossible honestly and while some may think it’s a placebo effect, it still works so why not use it.
In laymen’s terms, everything that exists is made of matter. To create matter, there is an energy that emits from that object. Certain frequencies and vibrations create certain outcomes. Crystals simply have a higher vibration frequency than most mundane objects and therefore exude a higher range of powerful energy that the human body is compatible and vibes with.
Some everyday objects that use crystals that we don’t even think about include lasers, clocks and watches and even our phones and computers. And that’s not counting jewelry, cutting blades and bits and a variety of other objects we encounter frequently. What we do with witchcraft and energy work is pick a few choice crystals that have certain properties and then sync them up with energy and intentions.
Before you start( How to cleanse and charge)
Just like a phone after a day of the internet, or you after a long work week, crystals benefit from a good cleansing and recharge. Always double check which crystals are sensitive to light, don’t like water or salt etc. We don’t want to damage the shinies.
Tumblr media
Also, just like when the dish sponge wears out and you switch it with a new one, crystals need cleansed regularly so they absorb properly. A wet sponge isn’t going to absorb anymore water once it’s saturated. So your daily stones, or the ones you use around a heavy negative energy, remember to clean them frequently.
Tumblr media
Ways to cleanse your crystals include:
Setting them in moonlight overnight.
Placing them in a bowl of rainwater for 24 hours.( remember to check the list!!)
Lighting a candle or smudge stick and wafting the smoke over it.
Bury in salt or soil for 24 hours.
Using visualization techniques.
Use singing bowls to raise the frequency and blast any negativity away.
Tumblr media
And once your crystals are properly cleansed, it’s time to charge them.(The full moon and new moon are good times to cleanse and charge depending on your intentions for your stones)
Ways to charge your crystals include:
Setting them out in moonlight( Yes, the same moonlight you cleansed them in.That’s why most witches charge via moonlight, you do both at once.. lol)
Set them out in sunlight( Litha and the other warm weather holiday are filled with powerful solar energy.)
Use Selenite plates as a charging pad for your crystals.( Works similar to a wireless charger to your phone but with crystals.)
Use visualization to set an intention for each crystal.( amethyst for anxiety, obsidian for protection, blue tiger’s eye for a big presentation coming up etc.)
Use a coordinating candle for your intention and let sit in the light of the candle for a set amount of time( black for protection, yellow for fertility, green for money etc)
Make a crystal charging mat or a crystal grid to allow an energy path for maximum frequencies.
Tumblr media
Once you’ve cleansed and charged your crystals, now it’s time to decide what to do with them. Most commonly, jewelry or necklace pouches are used(a lot of female witches stash crystals in their bras).
You can also keep them under your pillow, tucked into your shoe or around your room or car. As long as you stay in close proximity to the crystals, the frequency can reach you.
Ways to use your crystals:
Stay close to them.
Place on your body for ailments(bruises, headaches, fertility, etc.)
Use during Meditation and Yoga.
Keep where you spend a lot of time.(Your room, car, desk etc)
Place under pillow to help with sleep and aid in prophetic dreams.
Using non water reactive crystals, infuse water with crystals and drink or use as a facial toner.
Decorate your home and space.
Wear as jewelry.
Place in candles.
Set up in your bathroom around your tub during moon rituals or when you need a little extra self care.
Use to clear and energize the Chakras.( Check Etsy for some really great Chakra kits that are already set up for you)
Tumblr media
I’m sure there are tons of other ways to keep crystals close at hand. ( please please please do not glue them to your steering wheel to fill your car with good vibes… that’s a shrapnel grenade waiting to happen if you wreck your car.)
Where do I start first? (Or how to pick a crystal.)
A lot of witchcraft and energy work eventually falls into ” trust your instinct” and crystals are no different. It’s good to know about crystals before you go shopping or them, but the ones you need will find a way to let you know. There have been several that I’ve gotten and didn’t know what it was until I got home.
But when you are just starting out, it’s easy to get overwhelmed with all the info you find. There are crystals I believe everyone should have just because of their variety of uses. As well as I think there are crystals that while I would love to have them, there’s not a much point.( I tell myself that so my bank account doesn’t hate me.)
Picking Books on Crystals
I will suggest that you read up and get a few guidebooks on crystals. Whether you use it now or have to reference back to it in 6 months, it’s good to have a general guide on all the types of crystals. There are also more specific books on healing, chakras, reiki, craft and more that you can expand to later.
Tumblr media
The number one most recommended book on crystals is “ The Crystal Bible” by Judy Hall. She also has a book called ” The Little Book of Crystals” which narrows down to the 15 most popular crystals and their uses. I also have the Scott Cunningham’s ” Encyclopedia of Crystal,Gem and Metal Magic” that I personally use. Once you’ve got a general idea of the most common crystals, it’s just a matter of referencing back when you find new ones.
Tumblr media
Check out Etsy and Metaphysical/New Age Bookstores for crystals and info about them. Etsy especially has some really pretty ones you can use. And don’t forget that you can sometimes find natural crystals around your hometown. Our area gets a lot of Quartz, some milky and some clear, so that’s where most of my supply comes from.
10 most common crystals every witch should have
I’m not going to go heavy in depth on each of these crystals. Instead just provide some of the most important qualities of each as well as it’s corresponding chakra point.
Amethyst
Tumblr media
One of the more well known stones, this purple stone is a really strong healing crystal. Used to raise psychic energy, this crystal helps with guarding against psychic attacks, brings about focus and clarity of the mind and helps with stress and anxiety. Also helps with anger issues and insomnia. Use to activate and cleanse the Crown chakra and The Third Eye.
Clear Quartz
Tumblr media
This see through stone packs a decent punch. Just like a white candle can substitute for other candle colors, clear quartz can be used for any ailment or in place of any crystal. Quartz is also commonly used for increasing the power and energy of other crystals. It also improves the quality of life, and helps to remove mental blocks. You will most likely have more of this crystal than anything else.
Rose Quartz
Tumblr media
Rose Quartz is known for it’s soft pink hue. Use for all issues of the heart, physical or emotional. Can be used for any love energy( partner, family, parent to child or pet) Promote your self worth and beauty by bathing in or wearing rose quartz. Also good for banishing stress and insecurities. Connected to the Heart Chakra.
Citrine
Tumblr media
This sunny yellow stone is known as the Happiness crystal. Most commonly used for happiness, joy and wealth spells. Use to open your intuition, or remove toxins from your body. Connected to the Root, Solar Plexus and Crown Chakras.
Black Tourmaline
Tumblr media
All black crystals are superb for protection and banishing negative energy. Black tourmaline is one of the strongest protection stones there is. Use to create a protection shield by burying around your house, or carry on your person to send negative energy back to it’s sender. Make sure to cleanse frequently for best results on shielding yourself. Black tourmaline is also a great crystal for balance and stability. Helping with keeping you grounded, it keeps your energy from being too drastic in your choices and actions. Connected to the Root Chakra.
Tiger’s Eye
Tumblr media
Tiger’s eye is available in a few varieties(regular, red, blue) but each serves a similar purpose. Sharpen your inner vision and grow your personal power with this crystal. Also good for insight, creativity, grounding good luck and protection. Connected to the Sacral and Solar Plexus Chakras.
Sodalite
Tumblr media
Blue stones share a connection with the Throat Chakra, promoting your speaking abilities and the drive for truth. Sodalite is also good for harmonizing physical and mental blocks in your life. Deepen your meditation, promote better sleep and put a stop to mental unrest and hypersensitivity. Connected to the Throat Chakra.
Howlite
Tumblr media
I predominately work with White Howlite but there are other kinds apparently. Howlite is good for goals and ambitions. Relieve stress and anxiety, release attachments and have clear and powerful communication skills. Can also be used for peace and patience as well as peaceful sleep. Connected to the Crown Chakra.
Selenite
Tumblr media
Selenite is one of the few crystals I don’t have yet, but it’s on my list to get! It’s one of the few crystals that doesn’t have to be cleansed and charged regularly and you can use it to charge other crystals. Use to cleanse the aura and energies around you. Promotes deep peace, protection around the home and can connect with spirits during meditation. Also good for fertility, hair-loss and a youthful appearance. ( but don’t get it wet!) Connected to the Crown and Third eye Chakras.
Hematite
Tumblr media
Hematite is another stone good for protection due to its inky color. It’s magnetic properties are also what make it such a great stone for grounding. It stimulates your mind, enhances memory and balances your aura. Also good for enhancing courage, strength and endurance. Connected with the Root Chakra.
So there you go! An entire list of crystals to start you on your journey as well as a few ways to cleanse, charge and use them. Do you have a favorite crystal? Any that you are interested in learning more about? Let me know via the comments or send me a message via the Contacts page if there are any questions you have.

(Has this been done before? It’s probably been done before. But now I’m doing it.)
so I LOVE storytelling in the sims, and I love legacy challenges because following a single family is SO fun for me and watching townie families evolve as my family goes on is just as exciting. The one thing I’m not a huge fan of is how a lot of legacy challenges set out specific traits and storylines for players to follow, when my favorite part of the sims is figuring out sims’ personalities for themselves. SO.
I wrote my own challenge with a little less structure, just to allow players some more storytelling freedom (but still have some goals to chase). This is a NINE (9) generation challenge, based off of nine gems, all of which are collectable in base game.
Under the cut you can find rules and goals for all nine generations for the #family jewels legacy challenge!
Edited 3/16/22: Added more potential traits to certain generations! Edited 9/13/22: Added more potential traits and goals mostly related to the Werewolves GP and High School Years EP. Edited 9/14/22: Added new extra goals to Sapphire and Turquoise generations. Edited 11/4/23: Added more potential traits and goals related to the Growing Together EP and the Horse Ranch EP.
RULES:
A generation is considered complete when you have completed the Sim’s aspiration AND the heir for the next generation is a young adult.
Each generation has POSSIBLE traits listed. You must choose traits from this list (at least one “negative” trait, whatever that means to you), but obviously you don’t need to select them all.
Each generation has multiple careers listed. You must choose a career from one of the listed careers and you MAY jump careers if you wish, but you do not need to complete all three careers.
The CATEGORY of aspiration is listed rather than a specific one. You can pick an aspiration from this category to complete, but you MUST complete at least one before you move to the next generation. You must also stay within the category if you decide to switch aspirations. (For example, a Sim that completes a Family aspiration cannot switch to a Popularity or Athletic aspiration.)
Extra goals are just for fun and to give you bonus ideas for storytelling. Many of them are associated with EPs or GPs, so if you don’t own the EP or GP in question, you don’t need to do it!
Each gem is a different color, but you don’t necessarily need to associate that color with your generation. It’s just an optional fun thing!
Optionally, you can also collect the gem of your current generation and have it displayed in your Sim’s home. (Every gem listed is collectable in base game, remember!)
There’s also a list of optional goals at the end that don’t correlate to any specific generation, so you can mix and match them however you please in whatever way suits your story or gameplay.
Note that a LOT of gems have very similar meaning and I had to do a lot of loose interpretation to come up with these archetypes. Please be nice to me :(
GENERATION 1 - ALABASTER
Alabaster crystals are a form of selenite gemstone, often used spiritually to purify and cleanse. It has been used to symbolize transparency and purity; it is also considered the protective stone for children and those "innocent at heart." When meditating with alabaster, the wearer expands their ability to forgive others and themselves. Alabaster inspires positivity in the home.
As the founder of your legacy, this Sim is optimistic, innocent, and openhearted. They are dedicated to their family, and love each member with all their heart - no matter how big their family gets.
Traits: Good, Family Oriented, Cheerful, Childish, Lazy, Goofball Career: Education, Doctor, Culinary Aspiration: Family Extra Goals:
Have at least 3 children. The first must be adopted; the others may be conceived or adopted.
Max out the Parenting skill. [Parenthood GP]
Have all children grow up with High Confidence. [Growing Together EP]
Maintain at least a Good Friend relationship with all your children until your heir becomes a young adult.
GENERATION 2 - CITRINE
Citrine is a warm, yellow stone in the crystalline quartz family. It is believed that the stone contains a "solar quality of energy" due to its sunny color, and evokes warmth and brightness. It is a symbol of comfort and vitality, allowing creative flow and inspiration, always with a positive spin. It's a stone of self-worth and brilliance, inviting the wearer to soak up its energy like sunlight.
Just like this generation's stone, this Sim is warm and bright. They love to make connections and value their relationships with their friends deeply, and use those friendships to fuel their art.
Traits: Creative, Outgoing, Insider, Maker, Art Lover, Music Lover, Goofball, Clumsy, Self-Assured, Self-Absorbed, Animal Enthusiast, Rancher, Horse Lover Career: Writer, Painter, Entertainer (Musician), Interior Designer Aspiration: Creativity Extra Goals:
Complete the Social aspiration as a child.
If you have time, complete the Playtime Captain aspiration as a child. [Growing Together EP]
Have at least 3 Good Friends as an adult.

GENERATION 3 - EMERALD
Emerald is a brilliant green stone that can be more valuable than diamonds! It is known as a stone of intuition, believed to be a source of eternal life in some mythologies, and represents vitality, new beginnings, and spring. Emeralds are believed to have a soothing energy that inspires fresh vitality in the wearer. They are also thought to bring focus to a workplace - they really put a "spring" in your step!
The Sim of this generation is all about living green and caring for nature. They're just as brilliant as the stone their generation represents, and put that energy towards giving back to the Earth.

GENERATION 4 - RUBY
With its vivid, bloodred color, the ruby is a striking stone that is highly sought after. It was once believed to be drops of Mother Earth's blood, or sapphires that had been left in the ground for long enough. Its red color invokes images of love, sensuality and passion, but the ruby has also been associated with wealth and prosperity; the stone featured in many ancient crowns, representing courage and luck.
The Sim of this generation is just as fiery and passionate, dedicated to love and pleasure just as much as their other interests. People are an adventure, and this Sim loves exploring them.

GENERATION 5 - SAPPHIRE
A beautiful and, in ancient times, rare stone, the deep blue sapphire has been seen for centuries as a deeply spiritual stone; it is associated with truth, chastity, and prosperity, and the stone is often called the "wisdom stone". Sapphires are thought to calm nerves, promoting mental clarity and helping with focus and concentration. Worn in a necklace, they promote wealth.
This Sim has plenty of mental clarity and focus - and they're putting that energy into their bank account. They've had their eyes on the prize from day one, and everything else can go on the back burner.

Turquoise is a beautiful, multicolored stone that has been found in cultures dating back to prehistoric times. It is known as the stone of communication, and in some spiritual practices it is believed to enhance the ability to communicate. Turquoise encourages enthusiasm and attention to detail, attracting good fortune and prosperity, and its blue-green color represents tranquility and hope.
Communication is all this Sim is about - and spending time with those who just get them. They express all the enthusiasm of their generation's stone, eager to get to know their world and their surroundings.
Traits: Outgoing, Creative, Bookworm, Geek, Perfectionist, Ambitious, Adventurous, High Maintenance Career: Entertainer (Comedian), Actor, Social Media, Simfluencer Aspiration: Location (or Popularity if you don’t have any Location EPs) Extra Goals:

GENERATION 7 - AMETHYST
Another variety of quartz, amethyst has become synonymous with its vivid purple color. Spiritually, it represents tranquility and calm. Its name derives from the Greek word amethustos, meaning sober; furthermore, in Greek mythology, it's a simple white crystal dyed purple by the tears of Dionysus, the god of wine. Overall, the stone is one of intelligence and self-control.
Maybe self-control would be good for this Sim, but they're too busy learning to think about it too much. Knowledge is power, after all, and it's definitely the first weapon in their arsenal... and, honestly, should probably be their only weapon.

GENERATION 8 - HEMATITE
A common stone actually made of iron oxide, hematite was once known as "blood stone" due to its rusty red color when found naturally; however, when polished, it becomes a shiny metallic black. It is a stone of balance, believed to help refocus wearers on what matters the most to them. It is also believed to attract negative energy, and hematite rings are worn to protect its wearers by absorbing the energy directed towards them, shattering when it reaches its limit. Hematite is considered to belong to Mars, the god of war, but is actually a very fragile stone.
The Sim of this generation also needs balance... whether they're actually chasing it or not. They've got some interests that are considered a little... unusual, but it's fine, right?
Traits: Kleptomaniac, Perfectionist, Clumsy, Hot-Headed, Foodie, Neat, Proper, Squeamish, Vegetarian, Evil, Paranoid Career: Criminal, Law, Critic, Freelancer (Paranormal Investigator) Aspiration: Deviance (or any of the Vampire or Werewolf aspirations) Extra Goals:

GENERATION 9 - DIAMOND
Often thought to be the most valuable jewel in the world (depending on who you ask), diamonds are prized for their rarity, clarity, and invincibility - you can't put a scratch on them! They are often linked to love and commitment due to their strength, and are most commonly known today as the ubiquitous stone for an engagement ring. Diamonds are considered a "perfect" jewel and a symbol of purity, faithfulness and rarity.
As the final, Diamond generation, this Sim is (almost) literally the crowning jewel of the family. But, like the stone they represent, they're under a lot of pressure. Has it gone to their head, in one way or another?
Traits: Good, Romantic, Self-Assured, Self-Absorbed, Perfectionist, High Maintenance, Ambitious, Snob, Erratic, Lazy Career: Self-employed. You can own a restaurant or retail store, sell collectibles, make your own items to sell, produce videos, or live off your eight generations of wealth... assuming you kept it all in the family, of course.
