Not to be a bitch but can someone tell me how it is possible that a 5 star rated restaurant on Doordash can cook a burger medium but still manage to burn the outside and leave the entirety of the very thick patty so bone dry that three ketchup packets felt like absolutely nothing, bc I didn't know that was even possible until today......... I am usually not one to dunk on fry cooks ever bc of my time working at a TGI Friday's but also congratulations buddy this is the worst anyone's ever done it!

a little bit of a delayed elaboration on some of the tags i added to that one post i reblogged on foggy and ableism, but really, yeah. it does leave a bad taste in my mouth on how so much of mcu mattfoggy's Fandom Identity is tied to the ableism episode, and even specifically some ableist pieces of dialogue just because you can overlook the ableism if you laser focus on the shipping bait. it really depends on who you are and what your priorities are if what you take from the drama manufactured in the episode is "wow the writing got ableist" or if you see foggy as justifiably heartbroken and it being fodder to the relationship drama.

i am really Really into mattfoggy, in the true sense of otp, and the post worded in simpler terms one of the points of contention i have with mcu mattfoggy and one of the reasons why i could not get invested in it just by character association: in regards to the identity reveal, in the source material the reveal drives them closer, and into a new start, while on tv it's a break they never really recover from

I think so much about the food people ate pre-Columbian exchange. Huge parts of cuisine extremely important on both sides of the pond just didn't exist.

You've probably heard a little about what was brought over from the New World, corn, potatoes, cocoa, cassava, peanuts, chili peppers, avocadoes, cranberries, pumpkins, and the like. Imagine cooking without chili! Without potatoes! Modern Indian cuisine contains enormous amounts of potatoes and we just didn't have those for the vast majority of history. The best of the nightshades all on one contiguous hunk of land. Hell, tomatoes! Almost forgot about those.

But we don't often look at what the Old World had. Wheat! Barley! Rice! A profusion of incredible grains, really, the finest poaceae has to offer. Carrots! Tons of rosaceous plants like apples and cherries and pears and peaches and apricots! Grapes! Soy and Bamboo! Okra and watermelon! All these things were simply never found in the Americas. The grains one is the wildest for me, the variety of grains available across Eurasia and Africa was truly astounding.

You know what binds together the food of all cultures across the world? Onions. Onions are fucking everywhere. There's probably onions growing near you right now. Allium Gang Unite.

I had a really funny/weird dream that revolves around me running away from home because something bad was gonna happen, but like I'm also pre-established friends with Jack Manifold in whatever timeline this is so he was ride or die with the idea and came along with me. I don't wanna explain too much else this post becomes wayy too long, but one of the last things that happened in the dream was that I called my friend to ask if we could crash at her place cause it was late afternoon, and when I mentioned I was with Jack Manifold she called him a charismatic 4th grader.
