I end up going round in circles, and fall into slumps, and I feel some sort of disconnection from what I actually like. And I wonder why I think the way I do.

I'd love to hear your hot take on the rest of the members worst styles. Please do this I need it. - F T Anon.
okay i have given this lots of thought and am prepared to be roasted to high heavens for this list. i have done both the objectively worst and my personal worst rankings.
namjoon —
sadly our boy has no debate over his worst style.
objectively worst:
Tumblr media
my personal post-runch worst: the hair was fine but why did they style it like this, fake love era had many of my boys in shambles.
Tumblr media
my personal favorite: i know he said he hated this hair which just goes to show men don't know anything.
Tumblr media
yoongi —
aside from the goofy early japan photoshoots and the braids hat (which i'm not counting bc they're Too Obvious), yoongi doesn't miss much? perhaps he is more principled than the rest of his bandmates.
objectively worst: the terf era aka backup friar tuck.
Tumblr media
my personal worst: i'm so sorry but i hated this hair. this shit was burnt to a crisp and the tone washed him out and they did him so dirty.
Tumblr media
personal favorite: he has a lot of excellent looks and it was hard to choose one. i'm picking the daechwita undercut but please know his current long hair and the half-crimp are VERY close seconds.
Tumblr media
hoseok —
another one that doesn't miss often but it does happen.
objectively worst: hobi's cns era hair (the honey brown with the blond highlights) is one of my all-time favorites, and then they did this. just no.
Tumblr media
personal worst: i had a hard time choosing, bc early bangtan seems like such a copout and 2014 was rough, but he honestly doesn't miss much so i gave in. give our boy a texturizing spray.
Tumblr media
personal favorite: love everything about this. the perm, the texture, the cut, the color. one forehead smooch for this stylist.
Tumblr media
jimin —
i floated these opinions on discord last night and got roasted again.
Tumblr media
objectively worst: skipping over some of the early stuff bc it's a copout, another crispy, over-dyed mess. he earns points back for the ponytail, though, bc if there's anything i'm a sucker for it's long hair.
Tumblr media
my personal worst: this is what got me roasted. i hate this hair with a passion. no, i can't explain it, i just hate it.
Tumblr media
personal favorite: a sleeper pick. did you expect this one, bc it's had me in a feral rage since he posted this photo. jess said this choice "said a lot about me."
Tumblr media
taehyung —
i think the stylists took out most of their frustrations on the hyung line, bc i don't think the maknaes have had many misses? but there are definitely some.
objectively worst: no question. she was bad.
Tumblr media
personal worst: it's so bad i had to put it twice.
Tumblr media
my personal favorite: the blond mullet was close but there can only be one. this is very close to my favorite bangtan hair ever, not just on tae.
Tumblr media
jungkook —
yeah idk. another one that doesn't miss often.
objectively worst: i don't want to bully a child but his hair hasn't often been bad so he left me with no choice. he gets a pass bc we all probably had questionable hair as teenagers within such close proximity of our idol, runch randa.
Tumblr media
personal worst: another apology, but i wasn't a fan of this one dlfgijld. the cut was top-tier but the purple was too purple and i think it washed him out.
Tumblr media
personal favorite: i literally could not choose between these so you get both. i know the wp21 were clip-ins but they deserve to have their recognition for how immaculate they were.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ok the end. please feel free to roast me and/or drop your bias's dogshit looks in my inbox pls <3

i don’t think it’s a coincidence that yoongi’s gang in both the daechwita and haegeum mvs is made up of 6 people, 7 including him. kind of like when hoseok danced with 6 people in the cns mv
lissen lissen lissen there are no coincidences with bangtan, only conspiracies and when you look at how they've been playing us from the very beginning it's clear they were always playing chess and we were playing checkers 😭 😭 😭

Huh hoseok solos and akgaes have been trying to spread for years how Jimin is not a main dancer also have a narrative of how Jimin is privileged and given multiple dance opportunities because he is always recognized for his impact, solo performances and moments in group choreos l- They're insane. Like do they know every member is responsible for what they do for their solo in the group and their careers...which is exactly the reason hoseok released cns and paid for the whole thing himself... He decides what to do for his performances... like that's his business and if they don't like what hs does how is that Jimin's fault?
All the Solo stans and akgaes of each member are the worst. Jimin's criticize Jungkook for having more parts in each song, they criticize Hobi for the position in the group as a dancer, Yoongi's solo stans criticize the other rapper because he does not have more parts in the songs, Jin's and Tae's criticize Jungkook and Jimin for having more parts in the songs etc., etc., etc., etc., etc. None is better than the other. And that's why I don't like them.

How was Hobipalooza for you? Could you describe it? (*´꒳`*)
Aaah okay, I'll describe the whole experience! It was an 8 hour road trip from Minnesota through Wisconsin to Illinois. My mom and I got to the hotel in Chicago at about 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Then we walked to Giordano's for some deep dish pizza. We slept and napped and didn't do much of anything Sunday until it was time to hop in the Uber. We had no idea where we needed to go to get into the festival, and the address that we chose for Grant Park in the Uber app wasn't right, so the nice driver helped us figure it all out. We gave him a $20 tip for dealing with us (relative) country bumpkins fjshdhagsfjkf.
We put on our wristbands, zapped them on the entrance thingy, and went through security. We got there around 6:30 p.m., grabbed a couple of waters (it was in a can instead of a bottle - very weird), and found the Bud Light Seltzer stage where Hobi would be performing. There was some decent breeze because of the lake, the sun had dipped below the skyscrapers, and the temperature was maybe only 75 degrees or so. But I had to wear my handpainted Hobi jacket, of course, so I was still sweaty all night. 😭 Anyway, there was another artist we saw on that stage before Hobi. The Kid Laroi? Meh, the performance was mediocre. According to Google, he's just an 18-year-old kid, so. 🤷‍♂️ Once he was done, his fans left, so all of us Hobi lovers surged forward. I ended up on to the right hand side and had to watch the screen, mainly, but if I stood on my tippy toes and peeked through the heads just right, I could see Jung Hoseok in the flesh on the stage. 😖
There was a good 50-60 minutes of waiting after the rush forward, and every time a staff member came out, moved a piece of equipment, tested the mic and lights, or changed the slide on the screens, the crowd screamed lmao. One of the partners of Lollapalooza (whatever that means) came out and talked about how Hobi is the first Korean artist to headline a US music festival and introduced the mayor of Chicago, who announced Lollapalooza will continue for at least another 10 years. Then there was some more waiting, screaming, and chanting of "J-Hope, J-Hope, J-Hope!" and "Hobi, Hobi, Hobi!" and "정호석, 정호석, 정호석!"
The screens said "MORE?" and then the intro from JITB started. People were even chanting along with the narration! And then. And THEN. Jung fucking Hoseok burst out of the box, and we all LOST OUR SHIT. I didn't know how to act right. I was wiggling and squealing and stomping my boots. His HAIR was such a surprise. It was so long and poofy. He must've gotten a perm and extensions. He looked like a rockstar and was wearing tight gloves, and I'm such a slut for gloves. 🥴
He started off with "More," and the Earth shook. The bass was so strong, and the chanting was just like a BTS concert. Whenever he skipped a word or line, we filled in like we were getting paid for it. I didn't look up the set list beforehand, so each one was a total surprise. He did all of JITB, most of Hope World, Just Dance, Ego, his verse from Cypher pt. 1, CNS with Becky G, and Dynamite. He was so cute before Dynamite. He said, "You guys will sing 🎶, and I will dance 🕺." He swore a lot, too, and we felt that in our guts. When he was taking a breather, we were screaming and everything, so he looked at us like 😮🤨 and said, "You guys are fucking crazy." 🤣 He also told us to make some motherfucking noise, and we were all like 😳 yes sir, Hoseok, sir 🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣!
I didn't see anyone else's performances, but I can GUARANTEE that nobody did it quite like him. I think what a lot of people who aren't fans don't understand is that we weren't there just because he's a part of BTS. We weren't there because BTS is what's popular right now. We were there for Jung Hoseok, a genuinely talented artist who knows how to put on one hell of a show. Sunday night is going to be one of my most precious memories for years and years to come. 💕

Instead of get into a negative headspace about western collabs out performing j-hope’s solo album I’m instead going to focus that negativity into positive praise for j-hope. Because I am just very proud of him as a fan, his music, his dance, his personality, his drive and commitment, and his passion.
It’s been made very clear that JITB was a mixtape set to be released back at the beginning of the year, but due to very last minute changes in the company it was slated to become his first solo album. But not just his, but he himself being the first member of BTS in this new era to release solo music with seemingly more support from their company than their (rap line’s) mixtapes got. That was clearly an overwhelming venture, one that came with a lot of trial and tribulation, so much so he told us he lost sleep, could barely eat, lost a lot of weight, and was just generally very anxious and nervous. But he pushed through regardless because he LOVES to perform, he loves his music, his passion as a performer shined through.
And even though I as a fan don’t feel as though he got the promotion and support he deserved, to him it was more about just doing what he wanted and saying what he needed and hoping people hear what he had to say. And to that I did, I did hear him. JITB isn’t just an album with songs I like, it’s an album with a story that further let’s me understand j-hope the artist, and Jung Hoseok the person who is behind and creates the ‘persona’ of j-hope, and trying to balance who those people are at the crazy insane level of global fame BTS has reached and what the future holds.
He didn’t set out to create summer pop hits or a #1 dance song that could go viral on tiktok, he experimented with sounds we didn’t even hear on Hope World, a sound that not even loyal ARMY like or support as shown by the stats surrounding both singles and the album as a whole. It even turned some diehard Hope World j-hope fans against him, because suddenly it wasn’t the sound they came to know and love and just wanted more of. He really did, truly, want to challenge himself as an artist, and all I can truly hope is that he feels as proud of himself now as I do after everything.
Because on top of the album Lollapalooza just can’t be ignored, nor has it within the industry (at least here in the US). It was such a resounding success, he came here and blew everyone away! Even I heard and saw general Lolla goers come and listen to him, vibe with his music, dance to his music, and just generally had good things to say about him. I saw more white dudes around me coming to check him out than I thought I would, but it just goes to show that they were interested, and what they saw impressed them enough to leave a good impression even as some of them left to go watch Green Day to later talk about it online.
He also said that was stressful, and his vlive with Jimin made that acutely apparent. But he was, and frankly always has been, a performer to see live because he always brings his utmost passion to a stage. Not just vocally solid but of course who is j-hope if not also a dancer, who moves the way he knows best to any song, whether it be headbanging and rocking to Arson, What If..., or More, getting completely overtaken by the feelings of Blue Side or Future, P.O.P. or = (Equal Sign), to full choreo performances for Hope World, Ego, Dynamite, and CNS. Mixing his old Hope World sound and his new JITB sound to create a very unique, cool, and fun experience.
This was not only something that only he could do, but it sets the starting line going forward into this new chapter. We have no idea who or how the next solo album will be or the rollout for that project, but we know already that it can’t nor won’t be identical to what j-hope just did, because everything about this was for him, through him. I can only pray that it’s not the last time we get to experience j-hope as a solo artist because he still has more to say, more to show, and this was just a beginning, jack is now out of the box, now where will he go? What will he do? I can only wait to see.

If we think about it, even Jungkook hasn't really explored much outside bts. Jungkook still hasn't figured his own style. Yes, he's a great vocalist, he can sing the songs perfectly, but what is unique about his vocals and him as an artist?
He also took a safe route by collab ing with other known artists. I would have been more interested if he had decided to come up something that tells us who he really is as an artist, what mesaage he wants to send to his fans, what type of music he really wants to make etc etc. But it seems like for now he's probably going to settle for collabs with other artists.
Technically, he has.
His covers and original songs are a part of that exploration, on top of his contributions to BTS tracks, etc.
I think there's some confusion about what I mean when the members are exploring themselves outside of BTS. I don't mean this strictly in a professional sense, but he boxes, pursues alternative dancing style lessons, and allegedly drumming. He's keen to intimately share the things he's into/looking forward to (doing) with his audience, and these are all things that gets people used to him as an individual and how these things will ultimately shape him, if he later chooses to incorporate what he's learned within his hobbies in his career (wherever that may lead him).
I would argue that his collab with Charlie Puth was smart on his part (but it could've been any other artist at this point, just that Charlie wasn't unwise either). It doesn't matter how any one individual feels about Charlie and his... eccentricities (for lack of a better word, I suppose), but Charlie does have a strong foothold in the music market. He's very mainstream, and while that might not be what Jungkook die-hards want for him, it's still a step in the right direction for a prospective soloist to break into a market that is generally xenophobic. It'll create opportunities, which gives him leverage to tinker around more creatively. What Lolla will do for Hoseok is what Left & Right is doing for Jungkook but on a significantly smaller scale, but Hoseok also got a head start with Hope World and CNS, and Jungkook's only now dipping his toes in the water with intent.
Even if his current ambitions are to collab with other western artists, he's actively doing so and learning much more in the process, which does set him up for even more success when he does release a full-length solo album.
