He lifts his hands, both to placate and appeal to her best nature. "I had to take a moment after helping an older lady to the new special care center in Old Gotham and didn't notice they'd installed new cameras."

She'd been confused and thought he was her son. He could even see the resemblance. Dark, thick hair with the same loose curl, similar shape of the jaw and lips. It'd put him in mind of Shelia.

She'd held his arm and ruffled his hair on the walk. Asked how he'd been, if he had been eating well, did he have anyone he was dating. The far off manner of speaking had reminded him of Catherine. Her concern and care, of Alfred. After she was settled he'd ducked away and had to bury his face in his hands to compose himself. And then he'd spotted the cameras. "It's not a big deal, I just don't want them in my business about it."

Bunny stretched in his dressing him room and grinned at himself in the mirror as the club had another themed event, which he loved finding new way slipping his theme into them. This one was sort of medieval themed, so knights, princesses, dragons, stuff like that. So how was he going to add Bunny to that?

"Hmm... I could play it safe with Prince Bun.." He said, putting a little crown on his head between his bunny ears. But after checking it for a bit... Yeah no, that wasn't going to work. So he took the crown off and tossed it with all the other headgear. "Hmm... What to do what to... Do~" He smirked as he did spot a few things, sure it was a bit kinkier than his usual stuff, but he was sure his loyal "bunbuns" wouldn't mind this little change, it was for an event after all~

Can definitely tell at this point Freddie's my boy.. heard him swear the other day. When Natalia walked into his office, looking even more beautiful than he remembered from high school, Ezio had to take a pause and just look at her. She had matured wonderfully and although she said she had come to his office because she was thinking about him, he didn’t believe it. After all, he had his men’s reports on his mind. They had run into the one person they weren’t allowed to do anything to. He knew Natalia wasn’t dumb at all and would eventually come looking for him, his men did inform him of how bold and brave she had been. He wasn’t surprised by that, Nat had a fierce personality and it made him glad that hadn’t changed at all. He wore an amused smile once she stepped into his office and started talking.

“It is more than okay, Natalia, I assure you. I was done with work for the evening,” he answered her with a smirk as he stood up from behind the desk, buttoning his jacket. “How have you been, Natalia? It has been a while since we last saw each other, though time has certainly been kind to you,” he complimented with a rare smile. Nat had been one of the people who got to know a side of him that he truly only showed very few people in this life and though that had been years ago, he still recalled their time fondly. Maybe nostalgia was making him biased but they did have an amazing time together.

I wonder if the Winged Lion ate Marcille's hair (desires) in part to keep her dependent on him & more easily controlled.

I had already noticed that he has a tendency to frame her power in ways that keep her reliant on him. It's a some classic manipulation bullshit - he appears helpful, but he is constantly pushing her towards isolation.

See, for example: offering at first to give her a full view of the dungeon to help her find Laios and the others, knowing its painful for her -

And then offering using monsters to search instead, which keeps her less aware of what's actually happening

(This post by @mmikmmik has some GREAT insights into this particular moment as well, and is a large part of what has me thinking about the ways the Winged Lion manipulates Marcille in general.)

Or there's also the way that he pushes HER to be the one to attack the Canaries, making her more explicitly their enemy and more directly responsible for their injuries...

Even though moments later he's perfectly happy to deal with Mithrun himself, without Marcille's guidance (he even hides the act from her).

All of these things keep her isolated, all of these things keep him in control.

But if the Winged Lion wants as much control over Marcille as possible, and wants her only to act through him and his powers, you know what else he probably wants to suppress? Her magic.

And what helps her keep in touch with her magic?

Her hair.

Think about it. Thistle was such a thorn in the Lion's side in part because he was able to seal the Lion in those books and act independently. The last thing the Winged Lion wants is another mage getting out from under his thumb.

Plus, we already know the Lion can be tactical with how he consumes desires. We know because we just saw him eat Thistle’s desire to resist, only a few chapters before turning his charms on Marcille.

So, if he wants to make use of Marcille, wants to keep her under his control, and doesn’t want to show his hand - he can use a similar technique.

Something as small as eating her desire to take care of her hair wouldn’t be noticed right away, but it would keep her disconnected from herself. It would be another small step in undermining her ability to act - to keep her friends safe, to achieve her goals, to fix things - without him. To make her feel like the only way out was to obey.
