i know it is thick. i feel in it my core. it has to be. long and fat, thick. hitting all the right places 🥵

You hit send on the text message, trying to keep focus. You have been texting back and forth with your friend since your boss Carlos Oliveira decided to take off his suit jacket and roll his sleeves up. You have always been thirsty for your boss, he was extremely attractive. Today of all days, you are working closely with him on an important project, and he decides to show off his muscles and hairy arm like that. Your phone vibrates back with an answer.

Who is thick?

You blink, rolling your eyes. The attention span of your friend worked like that sometimes, although you have been talking about Carlos for a few hours now. You type back without even glancing at the name of the receiver.

my boss carlos, duh?

After you hit send, you receive a message from your friend with the gif from the Tiffany New York Pollard saying, "I know it is big." Wait a minute, you think. If you didn't send the first message to your friend, then whom? You practically freeze in your seat when you realize you sent it to your own boss.

"Shit," You groan, trying to delete the message. In your hush, you let your phone drop under your table, and you almost hit your head, trying to grab it. When you finally get your phone from the floor, you quickly glance at his office, and Carlos is already reading it. Shit. Shit. Shit!

You know you have no time to run into his room and stop Carlos from reading. So a few options: you could scream "Fire!" and make everyone evacuate the building in panic? Or run far away where HR couldn't find you to say you are being fired for sexual harassment? So you stay still, stuck in your chair, your eyes glued in Carlos's direction, expecting your inevitable fate.

Your boss reads the message, and you want to die when his eyebrows go up in surprise. He looks up from his phone, finding your stare, and you wonder if he can notice you are having a heart attack behind the desk. He types something, a small grin on the corner of his mouth, and turns his attention back to his big computer screen. And that is it. You are probably receiving the "You are fired, leave this building immediately" text in a couple of seconds. At least he would give you the dignity to allow you to leave, maybe calling security, not the police.

Your phone buzzes and you unlock it, the dread of having to find a new nice job that pays enough and keeps you well fed already killing you.

You blink one. Two times. Three times. You look up from your phone, your mouth drying and you can see Carlos has a big smile with his attention turned to his computer still.

Okay im being so real do you mind if I use your art of cats as a reference? I’m trying to relearn on how to draw cat faces and I’m using your art to help me out. I’m not sure if you would be okay with that???

If you'd like to sure I don't really mind, but if you post anything referencing specific pieces I've done I'd appreciate credit! Though I'd be cautious in general about primarily relying on art when learning to draw something, especially any particular artist. I get that it's easier to reference drawings a lot of the time since they're already broken-down/stylized more than a photo, but you'll also be referencing whatever quirks and inaccuracies the artist has intentionally or unintentionally put in the drawing, and my cat drawings are certainly not perfect and also tend to be anthropomorphized lol

what's your opinion on fanfics about dnp? (more in a way of do you think that it's crossing boundaries and/or being parasocial)

i'm of the same mind of dnp in that phanfic is fucking incredible. it's an important and valid way to express yourself, as well as a building block of our community. i don't think it's crossing boundaries, as it's fiction. i don't see it as parasocial either--you're writing for you and others like you. most people don't want dnp reading their fics, it's not for them in a sense, it's for us.

i think dnp are extremely aware of fanfic and its value and place in community. they've always encouraged it, appreciated the support, and given us space about it. they're not ones to make videos about it and mock fans for it (which happened to some of our lovely fic writers here writing for other yt fandoms, and i'm so sorry about it). dnp are fandom culture people. they've written fic themselves! and published it in their book!

the word parasocial has been twisted lately to imply any fan support is unnatural and should be shamed, which is complete fucking bullshit. making art is always important and valued. and it is necessary for your existence as a human, but also for the thing you're a fan of to thrive.

the parasocial side comes in once you start believing you know this person. and that you're their real friend. when in reality, they do not know you specifically, and you are not their friend, you are an audience member.

so a parasocial relationship only occurs when people start crossing boundaries (digging for not publicly available information, contacting people in their personal life, showing up to their house, etc). which, is absolutely nowhere close to real fan behaviour.

tl;dr: phanfic is great, i love you fic writers, parasociality is a problem but not one that we have

I understand you’ve probably asked this question with good intentions. I’m also going to assume that you’ve come from twitter because that place is Insane when it comes to boundaries

anon, I am gently taking your hand and looking at you, and in the kindest way possible: you do not need to know my boundaries. I’m an adult who can curate my own internet experience. besides, I’m not a content creator, I’m a fanfic writer. I have no need to publicly state my boundaries

this whole culture of people asking about boundaries ruins the point of fandom spaces. fandom spaces are meant for us, the fans. as long as we’re not forcing our creations upon cc’s what does it matter what we do?

it doesn’t matter what my boundaries are because I’m the only one who needs to worry about them.

and I’m not saying any of this to be rude or anything like, either. it’s just, the sooner you realize that it’s not your job to ask or even enforce boundaries (generally speaking here), the much better your internet space becomes. the only one you should be focusing on is you and your own boundaries

To give my thoughts on the fandom discussion of the handling of DID Mikoto/John's writing after the Double mv, I think my main frustration is just the somewhat black and white attitude many people have being viewing things with. In all honesty, I think the writing is complex situation that's a lot more then just 'good rep vs bad rep'. Instead, it almost could be better viewed through what the writing choices are attempting to explore/say about the character vs what ended up coming across to viewers? Its especially hard when we're only partially through the series, meaning a lot of your current opinion has to come from how strong your faith is in the series providing satisfying narrative conclusions to all the threads we've been presented with so far. But even then, I think its both fine to be uncomfortable with his portrayal or be satisfied with it - and that mixed reaction is generally what I've seen so far, particularly from viewers who are systems themselves. Its important for us singlets that we take into account the opinions of systems who are willing to comment on the character while also using our own critical thinking. Things seem to have been a lot better so far in that regard, which is great to see.

As for me personally? I have to say that I trust in the series to deliver nuanced and respectful writing. When you take a look at the series from a wider perspective, Mikoto and John's circumstances do tie into Milgram's exploration of societal issues in a way that I'd expect to be handled with care and empathy going forward. I feel the presentation of such flawed characters and the conflicts that can arise in our voting as a result of it can be applied to not just here but all the characters in at least some way. John isn't, and was never meant to be portrayed as purely antagonistic or monotonous, and I'm glad that idea has gotten more focus in this trial. This complex presentation of the cast's actions, as confronting as it often may be, have always been to help us understand and connect with the prisoners, rather than demonize them as foreign entities. This is particularly notable in Mikoto's case because of the divisive nature of mental health as a subject matter, but is definitely not the only occurrence of it in the series. However, Mikoto's case is definitely not perfect from a writing perspective and its important to be critiqued when necessary! Regardless of good intentions, trying to write a disability as complicated as DID will inevitably contain both steps forward and backwards. Although my opinion towards the handling of Mikoto's DID in this trial lean towards positive, It's completely justified to be uncomfortable with it and we should respect those who feel that way. But yeah, it's just slightly frustrating that I've seen people acting as if you need to decide between 'this is good rep, defend the series with your life' and 'this is bad rep, drop the series entirely'. Of course, learning to observe your own bias and look beyond restrained dichotomies of judgement has always been one of the series' main intent, so it's interesting in how it's shown itself again this time around. It'll be extremely interesting to see how both Mikoto and John are going to develop as characters going forward!

please don't give martha jones her own doctor that woman has had to go through ENOUGH. she survived an evil codependent qpr where she was always trying to save ten and he was always trying to save her and if she didn't stay he probably would have killed himself three episodes into series 3 and it quite literally ruined her whole life and i don't think she should have to have any responsibility for them anymore. that's not her job anymore she got out. 14 absolutely does need to go apologize to her properly and maybe hang out sometime if she's willing but i think giving her a doctor longterm would just be 1) bad for her and 2) entirely against the whole point of her arc. she already had to be the doctor's doctor all of series 3. she was always the one trying desperately to stop the mentally unstable bus driver from driving directly off a cliff. then she realized that doing that was ruining her fucking life so she got out. she is not going to want to get back in. maybe if they'd met when ten wasn't actively bleeding out emotionally speaking they could've had a dynamic more similar to him and donna and this sort of thing could have worked out but they didn't. so they don't.

tbh we think shapeshifting or otherwise changing physical appearance with switches should be less of a taboo when it comes to writing plurals, especially if a plural is writing it. Like, it's such a pipe dream, and there's nothing wrong with self-indulgent stuff. The only problem comes in when there's no in-universe explanation for why physical changes are occuring, imo, since implying that's possible without any other reason is the issue. But shapeshifters, illusionists, spirits projecting themselves, nonhumans with color-changing abilities, magic-users, etc? we eat those up, we'd give anything to be able to look like ourselves. Fantasy is for plurals' dreams too
