I already did some asks for winry so i'm just gonna do alluka & if i have a good answer for winry i'll answer it twice

1. Why do you like or dislike this character?

big fan of nanika's power system. me when all she's ever wanted was to be loved and she's blamed for everyone else's own greed!!! i am also a big fan of how alluka is like. locked up. i know that sounds really bad but im a big fan of like. 'princess locked in a tower' type stories.... she's also just really sweet

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

TRANSGENDERS!!!!!!!!!

3. Least favorite canon thing about this character?

Idk I wish she got more screen time I guess? Bc as it is she was just kind of like. A convenient way to fix the mc's mess & a good segway into the next arc. Which isn't bad by any means I just like her a lot so I think it would be cool if she showed up more

4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?

I would put her in a lighthearted magical girl anime because I think she would have a blast and she deserves it

not a big fan of when ppl use alluka as just like. a way to get killua and gon together if u know what i mean? like make her just be obsessed with killua's love life. i can see the train of thinking there but idk i mean i don't think most people are like super obsessed with their siblings love lives? and she's got more to her character than playing matchmaker

probably, but i don't think either of us are going to do the dishes...

gon AND nanika AND killua and honestly kind of leorio. i see her as having like. a kind of small but close family that talk often even if they're across the country

i love exploring her trauma. im reversing time and putting her back in that room and shaking her around

i saw alluka before i watched hxh so she was portrayed as like very sweet and happy, and for the most part my opinion hasn't changed but i did learn how the nanika thing works which brought so so so much more depth to her character

i think if they were playing egyptian rat screw winry would lose. alluka seems like she would be scarily good at reflex-based card games & chess

Hey. How are ya? So I remember a while ago you were thinking of an angsty concept/idea for olderry and this just came to me so I rushed to tell you (you can totally ignore it). So what if y/n has her friends from uni (yk the ones you have just for the sake of it, like they only contact you for notes and forget about you later and they're kinda bitchy but y/n is just so sweet that she's always polite to them) and one day they see h and her together and they deliberately pass comments about the age diff betn them (but in reality are quite jealous of y/n because h looks like that and treats her so well) and h usually doesn't mind them but y/n lets it get to her and seeing her sad makes her sad and they do talk about it (because h is so good with communication) but maybe later they keep manipulating her saying she's no good to him, and that they're wasting their time together so maybe y/n starts distancing herself a bit because she doesn't want to do that to h and even if it hurts she'll let him be free if it means he'll be happier with someone else (someone his age) and to make it more angsty maybe h thinks it's because she really thinks that he's older and not that appropriate for her so he accepts that she doesn't want him and he distances a bit too but then obviously they can't take the distance because they love each other too much and there's pining and a huge fight/argument and then the misunderstanding finally clears. You can also throw in a flashback of something like maybe once y/n had a presentation and it was on a certain app that's quite difficult to use and h instead of helping her ended up deleting her presentation making her be at a loss and while he apologized and she was sad (not at him, at the situation), he can't help but remember that, and then the comments from others and y/n's friend just all get a bit much and he really starts distancing himself too when she does it and starts accepting that maybe he is too old for her and she'll be better with someone her age. Idk, this is what I thought of. I would love to hear your thoughts on this!! :)

Hmmmmmmm I think I can do something w this like I might change a couple of things if that’s okay but I do think it would kind of rock them a little bc they’re so used to their friends and how supportive they are and how they honestly don’t care ab the age difference so when they hear some offhand comment from someone things get a little oh??????? Bc since when is it a problem they’re both adults and it’s not A Thing for them so I can def def see something kind of like this happening!!! Thank u for sending if I have been a little ? Ab what angst I could put together for them so thank u!!!

Hi! What I said was only on my personal understanding of my own uhhh charm and charisma lies.

Also, disclaimer: I am in no way an astrologer. I'm just a smol fry who's interested in astrology and whatever I say below would only be based on my personal understanding, as well as things I've read before from other posts. So there are high chances on whatever I say may not resonate. Do remember to take them with a grain of salt.

Before I get there, a couple of things that are important in looking asteroids in your charts are

1. It's sign, house, degree

2. How prominent it is (how many aspects, how tight the orbs are, etc.)

So with that in mind, let's look at yours! At first glance, I feel that your Charis has a very prominent Leo energy, so you may vibe well with people who know how to enjoy, have a good time, have fun. Most prolly random people would like to invite you to their house party or some gatherings? Or situations where they talk to your friend and goes, "oh, you're friends with jellymoonbear? Invite her along to the party we're hosting next month!" kinda thing.

But fun and popularity aside, I feel that there may also be a chance where you can easily gain unwanted attention? Cuz you shine so bright where people may not like you taking the spotlight (not to mention 29° is also a critical degree, where you can refer here for more details. Sure, it is a fame degree, but there's always something else behind the scene of glamour, which we must always remember). This can be difficult to deal with when you lack the experience and maturity to tackle issues at hand.

It trining your ASC gives me the impression that your vibrance and joyfulness matches your appearance, how you dress yourself, and people are comfortable with how you express yourself, which allows you to be able to mingle easily.

Trining your Chiron sounds healing for me? Cuz easy aspects with Chiron gives me the feeling that whatever pain and hurt that you have gone through will be something that can transform you into a better person. Idk how to properly express this in words, but let's say some people find scars on the eyebrow attractive. Scars are proofs of injury and hurt and they've healed, and they somehow became a plus point to your personal charisma, kinda thing. So by putting this in an emotional sense and personal experience/development kinda situation, whatever you've gone through in the past made you stronger and more charismatic. Yeah this is what I feel it may be (you'll need to of course, take your Chiron's sign and house into consideration as well).

Squaring Jupiter and Saturn feels like.... Hmmmmmmm... Chances of being too... Fun and end up having problems with your own discipline and may hinder your studies? Idk this is what I usually correlate for Saturn and Jupiter hshshs. But also, there may be chances of people of authority, for example, disciplinary teacher (combination of Saturn and Jupiter in one lmAO) may not like you yet could do nothing against you. That.

But yeah, Leos are nice people and they're really fun to hang out with! It's fine to have soft spots for them and most of all, remember to go with your vibe and gut feeling!

anderson & perry teacher headcanons :)

idk if theyre teachers in the same universe at the same time but i love the idea of either of them teaching, obviously in part having been inspired by mr keating and experiencing firsthand how much a good teacher can impact u and wanting to give other kids that experience

if it IS the same universe they probably work in the same district bc u know, they live together, its probably closest for both

todd would work at an elementary/middle school and neil would work at a high school (or maybe they'd both work at the same k/6-12 school) so a few years later when a kid would say they went to x school neil would ask if they had mr anderson n then would talk abt him a bit :) (regardless of if they said yes or no. he just likes to talk abt him)

in a more modern au both r those lovely teachers that have a pride flag somewhere in their room<33

so ofc a lot of kids would feel safe around them + come talk to them abt anything/bein queer :)

both in an only one of them is a teacher (and both are alive and together) au loves to brag/talk about the other; my friend/roommate/partner/husband (depends) is a poet is an actor guys he is so talented and cool ..,.,. :-)

mister teacher todd anderson :)

i feel like he'd be fine teaching any grade, moving around schools a lot, and/or being the sub everyone loves

he still does writing on the side/as a hobby ofc

at a middle school level he'd want to teach english, but idk im one to bet he'd be able (or might have to lmao idk how teaching works) to teach any core subject

at a high school level he would love to not only teach core english but also at least one of the lang/lit electives like poetry or uh. what else is there. speech & debate. women in literature

ok maybe not speech & debate. or maybe! maybe he took that type of class in college & gained public speaking skills/confidence or whatever and wants to spread the good word to quiet high school kids that public speaking is a learned skill!

he is the kind of teacher that, as a core teacher, lots of ppl know and lots of ppl love + respect

feel like he'd run a club. not sure which one

aside from the normal amount of rowdy teens/tweens, a lot of teachers r like holy shit mr anderson ur classes are always so ... good. like. everyone in them. and hes like lmao yeah i dont just make them memorize information i teach them in a way so they'll enjoy/appreciate the subject. plus two sided respect and trust and stuff!

he's Smart i'll bet he could teach any of the core subjects

or again maybe at some point he'd have to. idk how teaching works

i wanna say second would be science bc even though he never cared abt it his parents ensured he exceeded at it so now hes super science smart</3 maybe he'll try to give kids a better experience with it idk! and ofc

thats not whats important whats important is him being a theater teacher

at a high school level btw. for some reason i can only picture him as a high school teacher

he did do acting/was involved in the acting/theater world for at least a few years prior but then decided he wanted to combine that w/ his desire to leave a positive impact on younger ppl who wanted to get into acting!!

(or just kids who needed an art credit whatever everyones welcome)

he'd probably want to stay at the same high school for a while, yk build a community + familiarity with how the program runs there and ofc get to know the kids and then their younger siblings two or five or ten years later

he has ... a very strong voice. he's not mean by any means and, being the theater teacher, he'd never put kids in situations they don't wanna be in, but his voice is very good for (lovingly (sometimes)) shouting at the juniors messing around on the clear opposite end of the theater

freshmen are always scared of him. but not in a bad way simply in an intimidated way. upperclassmen say dont worry hes cool i swear :)

it is very important to me to reiterate this for neil specifically he def would have a lil pride flag in a cupholder in his office in a more modern au

kids come 2 his office to cry. u know. as u do in theater. and he is good at handling crying teenagers

BnHA Chapter 285: You Looked Like You Needed Saving

Previously on BnHA: Deku was all, “hey guys I’m just gonna fight Tomura one on one and risk my own life rather than risk letting him do the whole Destroying Everything bit again.” Kacchan was all “WAIT NO ARE YOU SERIOUS THAT’S THE EXACT THING I HATE THE MOST” and indignantly launched into his “P.S. I CARE ABOUT DEKU” flashback, which was a revelation in that it proved exactly what Bakugou fans have been saying this whole time, AND YET OUR MINDS WERE STILL BLOWN ANYWAY, BECAUSE HOLY SHIT, HE REALLY WENT AND SAID IT OUT LOUD THOUGH. Anyway, so Deku’s strategy for defeating Tomura is to, you guessed it, break his fucking arms again; and meanwhile a frantic Katsuki is gearing up on the sidelines to do something really awesome and incredibly stupid, probably; and all in all it’s a pretty terrible situation our boys have found themselves in. Terrible for them, but GREAT for me, and I’ve never been so hyped in my life omg.

Today on BnHA: Deku breaks both of his arms like a dozen times over. Like, just pages and pages of arm breaking. Just like in the good old days! Meanwhile Kacchan is all “jesus christ, okay you know what would be a better idea, JUST SETTING HIM ON FIRE AGAIN”, and so he grabs Shouto and Endeavor, and they do a whole Prominence Burn combo thing. The AFO-inside-of-Tomura is all “‘sup it’s me again, but seriously now would be a REALLY good time to let me take over your body”, and so Tomura TOTALLY DOES LET HIM TAKE OVER, WHOOP, and so AFO is all “HELLS YEAH.” And then he STRAIGHT UP STABS MY SON, WHOSE BODY WAS SIMPLY MOVING ON ITS OWN, YOU KNOW, JUST HERO THINGS. Anyway so now Kacchan is fucking dead*, and so if I were AFO I would start putting as much distance as possible between myself and Deku right the fuck now, because boy, IF YOU THOUGHT HE WAS MAD BEFORE? Holy shit. We’re about to see a whole new level aren’t we.

Deku’s arms should sue for legal emancipation. I think most of us can agree that they’re probably better off without him. sure they’ll have to buy their own food and stuff, but I think the trade-off is more than fair

Kacchan is seriously the fastest character in the series. the reflexes, the sheer speed necessary to intercept that hit? goddamn

every single one of those BakuDeku flashbacks are now wanted by the FBI for first-degree murder of me

this has nothing to do with Kacchan fucking dying and stuff, but is it just me or were there HUGE “Kacchan as Bakugou’s hero name” vibes earlier on in this chapter with the flashbacks to Deku explaining the meaning behind his own name, HMM

and speaking of, this is the first time we’ve gotten Kacchan narrating in the little box panels, unless I’m completely mistaken somehow. Horikoshi really waited almost 300 whole chapters to do that. and it was worth it. holy shit

hmmmmmmm ok so disclaimer that i know nothing about figure skating so i'm just making up whatever

you got me in a difficult position here cuz on the one hand, i'd love for magnus to be a trainer/coreographer. i think it suits him wonderfully and that while obviously he is great at dancing and loves it, i think that he's more on the creative side of things, you know? so i could imagine something like figure skater alec and trainer magnus. and like alec is a shadowhunter so of course that demands a high level of control over your body that is similar to a figure skater's

but at the same time its funny to me to try to imagine alec figure skating when hes a fucking giant like that because like hes so big?? and when ur big like that ur kind of like... mandatorily graceless and clumsy to a degree methinks (not in a like oh hes always tripping and blushing way, more like the "you're on my leg, you asshole" blooper), because things aren't made for you. like really its an actual matter of accessibility sometimes, especially if you actually have the proportions of a real person like alec does (well, except for the yaoi mcfuckhands. they look big even compared to the rest of his ridiculous body he just b standing there and im like christ edward fingerhands we get it) cuz then Everything Is Bigger Than It Should ya feel

so yeah i can't really imagine alec in like, spandex being all graceful and shit, but at the same time rationally i could imagine that for his character, but also no. so i can't really go with that idea without laughing

but also i can't imagine him as a trainer/coreographer and i don't know who the fuck else is involved with figure skating anyway so is alec like, the janitor or some shit???? some fucking basketball player who sees him at the olympics??? lord help me i have no idea

OK SO IT'S BEEN LIKE 5 MONTHS SINCE I FIRST PUT THE FIRST PART OF THIS ANSWER IN MY DRAFTS (rip anon im so sorry) and i THINK i got it!!! alec could be like, the uhh personal trainer? physical trainer? YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN like the one dedicated to making sure the figure skater's body is. capable of. dancing. idk how to explain it but you do get it don't you??? ok

i'm mostly going off my dancing experience here (i had dance classes for like, 10 years of my life, and ugh i miss it) and like besides dancing you always have to train like lifting and doing localized training and stuff because you can't really dance if you don't have strength and flexibility and stamina and all that stuff. the only time i would willingly work out was for dancing lmao especially when i was in my hiphop crew. anyway

and while for me the one responsible for that part of training was the same person as my teacher/coreographer (or when i was doing hiphop it was just. on me to do that lmao but i'm not complaining) i figure when you're a professional and not just a dumb kid that's probably two different people, right? if not it is now. idc

i could go with figure skater magnus and trainer alec but also im really feeling the dynamics of coreographer magnus and trainer alec? like it'd be cute/funny to see them trying to work together for that ya know. so sorry that this feels less like a figure skating au especially since it took me so long to answer it but aaa

but also i mean as a coreographer magnus would have to know how to do it obviously so you would most definitely get a figure skating magnus. alec going to close up the gym and seeing magnus practicing by himself just for fun, anyone? and magnus looks gorgeous as ever way more gorgeous than whoever they're coaching but that's just alec's opinion and magnus kind of stops like "oh, i didn't know you were here" and alec's like "oh oops. anyway keep going you're great at this" and magnus feels a little self conscious but soon he gets lost in it again because really he loves doing this and alec is just appreciating the artwork :)

ANYWAY the dynamics of trainer and coreographer are fun. magnus showing up to alec like "hey alec so i need some heavy lifting on them arms cuz meliorn [idk i don't have any better ideas for who they could be coaching] is gonna carry an elephant onstage" and alec is like "uhh" and meliorn is like "a fake elephant" and alec is like "i mean good but i still have questions"

and magnus is like "obviously we would never use trained elephants, the way they are treated is inhumane" and alec is like "you're completely right but also that's your only worry when it comes to meliorn carrying a real elephant?" and magnus is like "i'm sure you could pull it off ;) you're the best after all" and alec gives him that amused smile

advantages of meliorn: they don't care about the flirting anyway since they are literally Like That too

also magnus and alec working out together off the clock, some ogling on both sides and just generally funny competitive shenanigans. especially cuz like magnus is hella fit but alec works in that stupid gym so he knows what he's about. and alec's all smug about it like "i can lift more than you :)" and magnus is like "oh yeah? let's see how you do in the ring" "no" "yes" "no" "why, can you not do it?" "yes. i know my limits" "well that's too bad... because you're going in anyway"

cue alec falling on his face probably but also like goddamn it he's competitive and he's not gonna let magnus have too much of a win so he tries his best rip. anyway then we probably get some hip touching bullshit when magnus tries to explain it to him and magnus is flirting the whole time and alec's laughing and it's sweet

i have half a mind to make up some angsty backstory about how magnus used to be a figure skater too and his partner was (you'll never guess it) camille and then she pulled the rug from under him and he kinda left the competitions altogether for a while. and then he came back as a coreographer (listen, he loves to dance, but creating is one of his favorite parts and he was always involved in coreographing anyway. his old coreographer and him were always having a blast and camille did not like it) and this is kinda his debut as a coreographer at some big shot competition idk and he just feels like he has so much to prove?

lol bonus camille's new coreographer is lorenzo so the hating magnus squad is in thick against him and it's a whole thing you know

OH MEGA ANGSTY camille got him out of the competition because she outed him as trans and he was declassified because something something transphobic bullcrap so he wasn't allowed anymore. i assume this was like right after they won because of course she wouldn't compromise herself, or maybe it was at the beginning/pre-stages of the championship so she had time to find a new partner. yeah that last one and then she won with the coreography that he had helped them create. im saying she did that because he broke up with her finally after years of abuse both in work and out of it so she did that as revenge or to make sure he couldn't have his passion anymore. and it took magnus years to build himself back up as a coreographer this time because transphobia (and racism) in the market but guess what? he is extremely smart and talented and creative so now he is back at the championship and he wants to show the world what they have been missing on

hmmmmm also i implied this is in pairs since magnus and camille used to be one so i think meliorn's pair would probably be izzy and maybe that's why alec's involved? like he was already a personal trainer or whatever which his parents were fine with even though it's not of course as grand as they would've liked (meaning they were total asses about it) but when izzy decided to go into sports/art they lost their shit and didn't want to support her so, you know, alec did and became her trainer. which is just as well because he is the best so like, deal with it. not saying they like kicked her out or anything (esp cuz i imagine part of alec's reasoning is that izzy stood by him when he came out and if they didn't kick him out over being gay they wouldn't kick her out over being a skater but y'know) but they definitely wouldn't support her so they both also feel like they have a lot to prove

anyway they win obviously idk what to tell you they just do cuz we stan talent. camille is second for maximum drama and vengeance, the lightwoods try to get the spotlight once izzy wins and she and alec tell them to fuck off, they advocate for specific rules prohibiting ppl to declassify trans ppl over being trans and that's all i have tbh

The visuals continue to be absolutely stunning

As does the soundtrack

I can see why reviewers have been saying it’ll be hard to dislike Mal/Malina in the show, I already love them and they’re grabbing a hold of my heart even more

So far the Alina storyline has been very consistent to the books

Obviously the Crows are more of a prequel so it’s hard to compare them to the books, I am very curious how their storyline will play out and set up for the actual SoC heist

Like obviously paying off her indenture to Heleen is what keeps Inej with the dregs during the SoC duology, so if they pay it off in this season what’s there to keep her in the show beyond this first storyline

But then how does Kaz putting the Crow Club up as collatoral factor in? Like does he just have to bring Inej back to Ketterdam to get it back? Or does he need to bring her back and the money to pay off her indenture? And if he doesn’t does he lose the crow club? I have many questions.

like, I get why op had him give that speech - to prevent the cons from trying to free megs again/thinking that he was being coerced into things (ironic considered he WAS coerced into giving that speech) - but it’s kinda the easy way our for megatron - being able to completely abandon the decepticon cause and not deal with it at all, and start over anew as an autobot

it would've been a lot harder to remain a con and try to reform what he has broken in the decepticon movement - but I think that would've been really interesting

though from a writing logistics standpoint, I get why jro didn't go for that bc we don't get a lot of other decepticons in the cast for that to work, and also megatron still definitely DOES have to face down all his mistakes w/the decepticons w/the djd and overlord and whatnot

anyways. I cant believe that all megatron had to do to join the lost light was make ONE speech denouncing the decepticons. like, they should've at least had him do a tiktok dance too or something, just to make it a really tough deal

Meta on “Farewell”, aka the Reylo Theme that Never Was

So I was listening to TRoS soundtrack on Spotify and of course I immediately went to the track “Farewell” (because I like to suffer), and I noticed how...weird it sounded when isolated from the scene it’s placed in. Listened to it a few more times, and I definitely think it lends credence to the theory that there was supposed to be a different ending, and maybe even that it was originally intended to be a triumphant love theme ala “Across the Stars”. And since I have nothing better to do this Christmas, let’s walk through it shall we? The first 40-45 seconds actually line up really well. It’s a reprise of Rey’s theme, but quiet and fading. I think Rey’s death was always supposed to be in this film, or at least a scene where she falls after defeating ol’ Palps. I’m not sure why Rey would fall after deflecting lightning with two sabers full of the entire will of the Force when Mace Windu did the same thing by himself with one lightsaber, but honestly that’s another post for another time. Rey falls, the scene pans down, and her theme cuts out immediately as Ben’s hand enters from the pit. So far, all good.

Next we get maybe my favorite part of the song: Kylo Ren’s reprise. I know I probably shouldn’t like it because that’s not who Ben is anymore, but I think the grief and tension he feels in this scene are high enough to mimic how he always felt as Kylo, so it’s acceptable to keep here. It’s so great how tense this music is, not the full orchestration of his theme but just a few notes for the leitmotif. There’s also a really great part here where the violins swell like it’s going to morph into Rey’s theme (showing just how complementary the themes for these two are), but it never resolves; it just sits there and you feel completely how lost Ben is without Rey. The music does start to get chopped up here though. There’s a bit more of a swell around 1:23 on the Spotify song that’s not in the movie, but it’s not completely cut and I think the shorter length works in the film’s favor so still nothing too bad.

So next we have the hug and the heal. The music sounds about the same for both of these, but it all sounds a bit weirdly timed. Like Ben should start hugging her on the swell of this section (1:38 in the attached video) but he hugs her around 1:34 instead. The cut isn’t even on the swell either, so it all feels a bit disjointed to me, but this might be a nitpick, so idk. If I’m honest him placing his hand on her stomach to heal her seems a bit out of time too. At 1:55 in the video the music drops and switches to another section, so to me that seems like when he should pull away and start to heal, but he’s already touching her. This whole part seems like its a bit fast forwarded, but just the video, so the audio is just out of sync.

The music slips back in time though, and this next bit is great. Everything from the hand touch to Rey saying “Ben” is so excellent. Before the touch, the music starts to slide back into tones that remind me of Kylo’s theme, like maybe it's not going to work, but then the hand touch comes and the music back to a major key. It’s Rey’s theme at first, but then it swells into something wild and screeches to a halt because you (like our heroes) can’t believe it. Is this really happening? Are they really both back? Did they really make it out ok? You can see it on Ben’s face too, the disbelief that Rey’s really alive, like he’s just waiting for it all to be an illusion. And then the music halts, letting everything sink in, and Rey calls Ben’s name and smiles the widest smile (I fucking love this smile, it’s so beautiful). And for me this is the last time this music really fits what’s going on in the scene, so how fitting that it’s on something so lovely.

And now, at last, we get the kiss, and this is where things get wonky. I don’t understand the musical timing of this at all. The kiss happens in the middle of a bar, and it’s such a quiet moment too. Y’all know how Star Wars scores its kissing scenes; it is not subtle. So to have it both start and resolve quiet is a little odd. There’s also been Twitter/Reddit posts going around saying that Rey is definitely supposed to have dialogue here, and I agree. I think what was supposed to happen was a quiet conversation where Rey just pours her lonely heart out, and that’s where Ben smiles then passes out.

The collapse/death is also a little weird, cause the music does quickly divert back into a minor key, indicating that yes, something bad is happening here, but its not totally sorrowful either. This section resolves on a light, almost wistful tone. The film uses it to show him passing into the force, but it’s so weird. Combine that with the footage looking like it’s been reversed and it’s all a strange effect.

So finally, I would like to get to the crux of why I think this track was intended to be something completely different: the last minute of it that, as far as I remember, is not in the film. So around 3:56 in on Spotify, the trumpets of the Resistance/the space battles come in. I believe this part is in the film, and it plays when Poe and Finn spot Rey in the air as Red 5, but it immediately cuts to the next track, “Reunion”, without a fade out. The problem with this is that there’s one last big swell of music near 4:18. It has a sweet violin buildup, then a great sweeping long section of strings and a choir and everything. THAT feels like the kiss music there. Right there is the huge “Across the Stars” sting that the Reylo kiss needed. So I’m wondering if maybe that’s where the kiss was supposed to go, or maybe that Ben was supposed to pass out then when it cuts to Red 5 in the air it’s a surprise that he’s with her, and they kiss again. When I originally heard it, I thought that it cut to everyone cheering outside, Rey and Ben would watch it inside the throne room, then they would kiss as a culmination/celebration of them winning. Then it would smash cut to the Resistance and everyone coming home.

I know there are holes in this theory, but honestly I feel like the song proves this scene was supposed to go very differently. I’m not even sure it was originally called “Farewell” in the first place. It resolves so joyously and hopeful that it feels like it was originally called something else. Why would you end your song meant to underscore a death scene with sweeping strings and happy music when the very next track is a happy reunion and you could have just put it there and had the music carry over between the scenes? If I had to guess, this was originally meant to be the Ben/Rey love theme, probably called “You’re Not Alone” or something equally sweet and it was changed because they changed their minds at the last minute. Now I’ll just continue to live in my happy place where Disney plans to retcon this movie due to backlash and Adam agrees to come back despite the mistreatment his character received and Rey is allowed to be the grey character she’s always been instead of a pure cinnamon roll who’s only evil was due to her lineage.

Oh, one last thing: that sweeping melody used in “Farewell” at the end is also used in the “Finale” during the ending credits. It starts at 6:30 goes until the opening crawl theme starts and it’s fucking beautiful.

Edit: It also appears throughout the track “Rise of Skywalker”, which for some reason plays over the Resistance reunion scene. Weird that no Skywalker has risen there yet, since Rey’s not yet taken their name. It’s almost like there should have been a Skywalker there....maybe one who’d risen from the Dark Side, from a literal hell pit, AND who’d just risen off the ground after collapsing from his wounds. HMMMMMMM

If I’ve made any errors, please let me know. I only have the death scene footage on hand, so I wasn’t able to double check the stuff after Leia fades, and I do not have every Star Wars leitmotif memorized, so I might be wrong about some of this. A Really Stupid Fight

Pairing: Jackson x reader

Word count: 2.2k

Genre: idk not smut

Summary: You and Jackson get into a reeeeeeeeaaaaally stupid fight. Don’t ask how I came up with it, just laugh if you think it’s funny.

A/n: So, this is the second time I’m writing this because my chrome crashed and deleted the whole thing while I was writing and I feel like eating my hair.

The warmth of the rays of sun that were shining into the room was what woke you. You let yourself stretch, your arms reaching for your boyfriend’s presence but was quickly disappointed when there was no one there. You groggily sat up to see his side of the bed empty and at first you thought that he had to go to the studio but the smell of coffee and bacon wafted into your bedroom from the open door. You rubbed your eyes and slipped on your bunny slippers before shuffling yourself out of the bedroom and into the kitchen.

In the kitchen was Jackson standing over the stove, spatula in hand as the bacon sizzled in the pan. He turned over to you when he heard your slippers shuffle against the cold tiles, smiling at the sight of you, one of his t shirts loosely hanging over your body.

“Morning.” You mumbled as you got closer to him to wrap your arms around his waist, squishing your cheek against his bare back.

“It’s 2 in the afternoon, baby.” He chuckled, morning voice deep. He turned his attention to you, turning around and wrapping his arms around you to return your hug.

“I’ve missed you,” You let out a content sigh, “I’ve missed this.” You smile as he pressed a kiss to your forehead.

“I’ve missed you too, (Y/n).” He pressed another kiss to the corner of your lips, filling you up with love with such a simple gesture. This was the first time in a very long time that you both had the same day off. Both your schedules were extremely busy and it was rare that you got to wake up with him still at home or got to spend more than just dinners or lunches together. That fact made you both relish in each other’s company like it was never going to happen again.

The smell of something burning filled your nose,

“Uhhh, Jackson?” You looked up at him with an eyebrow raised. His eyes widened and he turned around to see the pan smoking. He let out a long “Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh” as he turned off the heat and moved the pan onto a cloth on the counter. He scratched the back of his head and turned to you, asking you for help, “I thought you knew how to cook.” You teased him.

“Yea, but I got distracted.” He chuckled as he pressed another kiss to your forehead. “How bout you help me cook then we eat in the couch and watch whatever you want. How’s that sound?” He suggested as he tried prying off the bacon from the pan. You nodded as you gently took the pan from his hands,

“Sounds lovely.” You kissed his cheek before scraping the rest of the burnt bits into the trash can.

“What do you wanna watch?” He asked, leaning against the counter. You placed the pan on the counter and crossed your arms in thought,

“Hmmmmmmm,” You hummed, “How bout we watch a drama.” You suggested.

“A drama?” He cocked his eyebrow, “I assume you mean a K-Drama.” He chuckled as you nodded, breaking a cheeky grin. “Don’t you have enough Korean men in your life?” He gestured to himself, flexing his muscles.

“Uhhh, Jackson, you’re not Korean.” You pointed out, stifling a giggle.

“Wha-” He stopped himself as he remembered that he was in fact not Korean. “Oh, right.” A blush formed on his cheeks as he looked down, “Oh my goD I FORGOT I’M FROM HONG KONG!” He screamed into his hands. You couldn’t help but laugh at how extra he was being, looking like a child who accidentally called his teacher ‘mom’.

“Baby, calm down.” You put your hand on his cheek, loving how cute he looked with a blush on his cheeks, the red spreading all the way to his ears. “You’re so cute when you’re blushing.” You giggled. He pulled you into a hug,

“Never speak of this again. The guys would never let it go if they knew.” He muttered.

You opened your eyes and tried to scan the living room area. You looked at the drama that was playing on the TV, then tilted your head up to look at Jackson who was fast asleep. His chest was rising and falling as light snores escaped his lips. You smiled to yourself, thinking this was the perfect time to snap a photo of him. Being careful not to wake him, you gentle moved his arm off of your waist and got yourself up off the couch, only then noticing your cat sleeping on the carpet. You took gentle steps, trying hard not to wake both of them up as you made your way to the opposite side of the coffee table where you left your phone.

You noticed there was only one phone sitting on the glass table; Jackson’s phone. You furrowed your brows. You were sure you left it on the coffee table when you both started watching the drama. You looked at the clock perched on the wall, realising it was already 8 p.m. You started searching throughout the apartment thinking that maybe you left it somewhere else without noticing. But without any sign of your phone you headed back into the living and stood there with your hands on your hips.

“You look troubled.” You heard Jackson mutter. You turned around to see him snuggled up under a blanket as he looked at you with his eyes barely open.

“Did I wake you?” You asked, sitting back down on the couch.

“Hmmm, a little bit.” He yawned, wrapping his arm around you once again to pull you closer to him. He covered you with the blanket and nuzzled his face into the crook of your neck.

“Sorry, I just couldn’t find my phone,” You explained, “I tried looking all over the apartment but I swear I left it on the coffee table.” He hummed for a moment before sitting up and reaching for his own phone,

“Want me to try calling?” He asked as he held up his phone. You nodded, your lips curling into a soft smile. He dialed your number and you both waited for the sound of your ringtone. But when his phone went to voicemail with no sound or vibration giving away the location of your phone you started to panic more. “Hey, hey, hey,” With one hand, he held onto yours and with the other he placed it gently on your back to calm you down, “We’ll find it okay? I’ll help you.” He brought your hand to his face and pressed a gentle kiss to your knuckles before lifting the blanket off of both of you and stood up.

It was midnight and you still couldn’t find your phone. You were in full blown freak out mode and Jackson was starting to get tired.

“Baby, can we try again tomorrow morning?” He asked. But you were too determined to find your phone, running in and out of rooms that you’ve already checked. The whole apartment was a mess; cushions on the floor, bedsheets crumpled on the dresser, kitchen cabinets were open but you just couldn’t find your phone.

“I won’t be able to sleep if I don’t find it now.” You shook your head as you continued you look under cushions.

“Baby,” He tried reaching out to stop you but you moved away from him to continue looking. “(Y/n), you’re overreacting.” He was starting to get annoyed, you could tell. But it wasn’t stopping you. He continued to watch you frantically searching. “(Y/n), c’mon. We should really look in the morning. You’re tired, I’m tired, even Kit’s tired.” He gestured to the cat who was still in the same spot, sleeping soundly.

“I won’t be able to sleep. What if someone calls me and it’s important? What if something happens and my parents need to call me? What it-” He quickly cut you off with a gentle hold on your wrist and a peck on your lips,

“Please?” He pouted but you shook your head once again and pulled yourself out of his grip. He groaned and sat on the couch. You knew he was annoyed because he had an interview early in the morning and needed sleep. But you were so invested in looking for your phone you just didn’t care anymore. “(Y/n), come on!” He called as you walked into the bathroom yet again. “You’re overreacting! Seriously!” He stood up and followed you around but you ignored him. “I can always just buy you a new one, you know. You have everything backed up on the cloud anyway!” You continued to ignore him. “(Y/n), stop being so god damn stubborn!”

“Jackson! Just go to sleep without me!” You finally turned around to yell back, “I want to find my phone now, you can always sleep first!”

“I would still be asleep if you weren’t looking for it.” He huffed angrily.

“Gee, I’m so sorry I woke you.” You rolled your eyes, turning to walk away.

“God, you’re fucking stubborn.” He grabbed your wrist so that you were facing him. “That’s your problem, (Y/n). You don’t listen to me. You want to do everything your way!” He yelled at you, his grip around your wrist tightening. You yank your hand out of his grip and head into the living room without saying anything. “Just stop and listen to me!” He continued to yell, “Stop being such a hard ass, (Y/n)! It’s a fucking phone! It’s not like it’s a million dollars or something! We’ve been looking for fucking hours!”

“If it’s such a big hassle then just go to sleep without me!” You yell back, turning to face him. “If it’s such a big burden then just let me do it myself! It’s not a big deal to you but it is to me!” You didn’t seem to understand why he was so angry, “Why are you so upset anyway?” You asked, trying to control your anger.

“Because I care about you! You’re just making yourself more and more stressed and you do this all the time! Whenever I try and help you you end up pushing me away and it’s annoying that you won’t just let me help you!”

“It you wanted to help, you’d either continue helping me look for my phone or you could just go to sleep.” You muttered, turning around. You heard his heavy footsteps storm towards you as he grabbed your wrist suddenly,

“(Y/n), stop it and get some sleep!” He yanked you towards him, his grip around your wrist tight.

“Jackson, let go.” You try pulling your hand out of his grip but his grip only tightens,

“No, I’m getting tired of you just ignoring me when I’m trying to help you.” He was fuming at this point, the grip on your wrist just getting tighter that it was starting to hurt.

“Jackson, let. Go.” You say through gritted teeth but he doesn’t.

“See? You’re doing it again. You just ignore everything I try and do for you!” He yelled, his fist so tight on your wrist you feel it might fall off. “STOP OVERREACTING!” He screamed at you, subconsciously yanking your wrist so hard that you’re sure it’ll bruise.

“JACKSON LET ME GO!” You scream as you feel tears forming in your eyes. You shove him with your free hand and rip your hand out of his grip. You looked at your wrist and you were right, it was aching and was already turning red. He glared at you, but his gaze softened when he saw tears coming out of your eyes as you rubbed your wrist.

“Shit.” You hear him mutter and see him move through your blurry vision. “Baby, I’m so sorry.” He gently pulled you into an embrace, “I’m so sorry, (Y/n). I-I didn’t mean to. I didn’t mean anything I said.” Apologies were spilling out of his mouth like a broken faucet as he held you close to him, he pressed a kiss to the top of your head. “(Y/n), look at me, baby.” He cupped your face with his hands, making you turn your attention to his beautiful brown eyes. They were glossed over and full of guilt, “I’m so fucking sorry.” He took your wrist and gently pressed a kiss to the bruising area.

“I know.” You nodded, your face still covered in tear stains. He gently wiped them away with his thumbs and he pressed a kiss to your lips. “Let’s go to bed.” You whispered, officially exhausted and he nodded, putting a hand on the small of your back as you walked towards the bedroom. Kit awoke when you both started screaming at each other and when he noticed you were heading into the bedroom, he let out a ‘meow’ and stood to stretch, ready to follow you into the bedroom.

Both of you turned to see the grey tabby stretch before making his way over to rub himself against your legs. But you both turned to each other, sharing the same dumbfounded look. In the spot he had been sleeping at, was your phone. The entire time, your cat was sleeping on your fucking phone.

Aw, neither of those are oddball!

Jean Prouvaire

First impression: Hmm, I guess I was really taken by the description of him as someone who is sort of... very physically self-conscious? The blushing easily, the deliberately speaking in a soft voice (which became “suddenly manly”), etc. I liked him but I didn’t have that many opinions about him I guess.

Impression now: I really like him! I feel like I need to read more about Nerval to help me flesh out my characterisation of him, but I think he’s really interesting. I actually think he and Enjolras would get along quite well; they are both “visionary” type characters.

Favorite moment: His death scene .... unfortunately.

Favorite fic: [I’m inserting this question for Prouvaire specifically because I found I wanted to talk about it] I love @ratheralark’s (Eglantine)’s fic “Lightning”

Idea for a story: I’ve wanted one for a while now where Prouvaire and Bahorel write and stage a highly inflammatory play in public.

Unpopular opinion: I don’t like non-binary Jean Prouvaire. 🙃 But you knew that already, so ... ummm I think Prouvaire is older, I guess? It seems unpopular because in everyone else’s lineup he tends to be one of the younger Amis (...if not THE youngest). Based on his poem and the political references though I tend to put him around a similar age with Bahorel and like 30 at the barricade.

Favorite relationship: Poetry Smash! I just think they’re a lot of fun.

Favorite headcanon: My Prouvaire is a physically large person & that’s very much part of his general physical... maneuvering, to try to take up less space. He is awkward about it. Until sometimes he drops the awkwardness and it’s always a little surprising like, he gains several inches in height and breadth.

Mabeuf

First impression: This guy...! I literally cried over him selling his last book to buy medicine, he just breaks my heart really (still does).

Impression now: He breaks my heart even more!? He’s such an awkward, quiet guy and incredibly sweet... I saw him in the 1972 movie once we finished the subtitles and wow just, they really captured something there with the way he talks to Marius for ages and is like “Okay goodbye” & then comes back because he forgot to get to the main point of what he was trying to say.

Favorite moment: When he thinks of Eponine as a fairy. There’s other moments I like a lot but I can’t justifiably say they’re my favorites when they cause me physical pain.

Unpopular opinion: I don’t really know what’s considered unpopular about him...! I read him as gay, I guess, which I think is unpopular just as in uncommon, not that it’s inflammatory or anything. But there are some things in there. “Loved the faces of men but hated their voices, so he went to church not because he was religious but because it’s the only place where he could see men in silence” “When asked if he ever married, he said ‘I don’t remember’” Hmmmmmmm (disclaimer: not direct quotes).

Favorite relationship: With what we actually see in the text it’s gotta be Marius. The fact that he’s basically Marius’s only friend outside of Courfeyrac & like, I imagine that he actually sees him very often and they talk about Marius’s dad “from the perspective of flowers” or whatever the line is and... it’s just really sweet actually.

Favorite headcanon: Ok but... He and Georges had a really sweet relationship based on gardening, where he would give Georges fruits and Georges would give him flowers, and Georges would talk about his little son he wasn’t allowed to see and they would just be quiet companions and idk I get emotional about it & I make myself emotional about how that reflects on his relationship with Marius & talking to Marius about his father.
