#hmmmm now i think about it i'm less sure about more people in the states being on hrt than in india

This is speculation, but it seems likely that the States has the largest population of openly queer people in the world, based on them having the third-largest total population and generally being more open to queer people than India or China. I could very easily be wrong, though, considering that both India and China are, like, four times larger than the states, and also that I'm considerably more tuned in to the States than any other large country.
I do, however, have much greater confidence that there are more people on HRT in the States than anywhere else, because they have widespread informed consent, even if it's probably logistically trickier to get on DIY than it is in India. I'm pretty sure that this also correlates to more realized trans people than anywhere else.

🐝🐝 It's been a while since I made this blog and I haven't actually written anything, even tho that's its purpose.
So instead of doing research on stuff for my Hazbin Hotel OC, let's start building a story.
First is the magic system:
Seeing as I am a bee an animal lover, let's have it revolve around that.
I've had the idea of an mha oc who can manipulate their dna, which they mostly use to copy animalistic traits, so let's take that and give it a name - Mimics.
Mimics are people who are capable of replacing parts of themselves with a human-sized version of a body part from a specific animal. If you don't have that body-part you still have to get rid of something.
An example could be... Let's say there's a mantis-shrimp mimic. Now obviously no bee no human owns a claw, so to have its "ballers" you need to still get rid of something, like a leg. This is great for combat if you're going for a kick: the added momentum of your leg + the release of the "latch muscle" + the now human size of it, even without cavitation it'd still be incredibly strong. Not sure how strong but I'm guessing "bone-breaking" strong. (Not to mention you could use it to jump really high.)
Next let's give an alternative, like another school of magic.
What if you could control the animals instead. They can be called - Tamers.
Tamers are people who can very clearly control animals. But like mimics, it's a specific animal. But they still need something that can make them useful...
Humans...
Humans are animals too, so what if we had a Human tamer as an antagonist.
Obviously Mimics are seen as stronger, so they might be people who are praise, while the Tamers are more often than not shunned, they main uses are being farmers and pest/animal control.
More on that another time.
I think it'd be less mind-control and more... persuasion. You're capable of speaking to that species, and yes you are naturally more persuasive, but you need to practice to get better. Maybe at some point you could be able to influence their thoughts and commonsense, make them think it's their own thoughts when really you're responsible for that. idk.
______
Now let's figure out how people get these powers.
As I've (hopefully) stated before, not everyone is a Mimic/Tamer. So it'd be a good idea to think of how people can become one.
Obviously there has to be a reason as to why not everyone is one.
Maybe it's like X-men and only some people are mutants... no
Maybe it's only neurodivergent people... I'll save that for another time, maybe.
You know how the greek gods have symbols?
And what about clerics? Their power is bestowed upon them by the divine.
What if it's like that? Somehow interacting with the symbol of the animal gives you either Mimicry or Tamer-ry. Like bathing in honey like it's the river styx. not sure if you'd survive, but you'd def need a bath after.
And it'd make sense how the antagonist is the only human tamer ever, coz no one knows what the symbol of humans are.
hmmmm, but then I'd have to come up with the symbol of so many things.
Bees could be honey sure.
Spiders might be webs
But what about bats?
Wolves?
Prey Mantis'?
Frogs?
Flies?
Too much work.
Maybe it works like chosen ones.
A god of Bees chooses... John Doe to represent the species, and by doing so, their descendants carry that power.
This could mean something about the society as well, being far more religious focused.
Maybe it used to be considered wrong for two chosen people to wed if they were not chosen by the same species?
Or perhaps if the descendant was born a Tamer, they couldn't be heir, and were used as a political puppet.
Ah yes, the two genders: Mimics and Tamers.
And what would happen when two different chosen ones wed? Would their children have one or both animals? maybe it'd make a hybrid?
And the chosen can be put in positions of higher power, like priests or nobles or kings.
A society built on power from the gods.
_________
Okay quick summary of what we've gotten done so far:
Mimics can copy the abilities of animals
Tamers can control animals
Both are chosen by gods of the animals.

I just found the dark corner of Fisk/Matt, and you are the only one (I can find) on tumblr who is active *sob* and I’ve finished everything on AO3. HALP! Is there more
PS. Love all of your fics!
Hi, come back I love you. 😍
Thanks so much. ♥ Welcome to my dark corner. I've settled in and show no signs of leaving.
And I'm in the same boat, anon. There is not enough Fisk/Matt content, so I'm always having to make my own. lol. I see little surges of interest sometimes. Like when S3 came out, when Fisk and Matt showed up in the MCU last year, and when Daredevil was put on D+ this year. It always makes a few people go, "Hmmmm. 🤔" I'm hoping whenever Daredevil+ series comes out, some new shippers will manifest.
I have been shipping OTP since 2015 and Fisk/Matt had that radio call in episode 1x06. 👀 I didn't think I was actively going to ship anything in Daredevil, and then Fisk: "I'd like to speak to the Man in the Mask, please." (So polite, that crime lord.) I didn't even know I shipped it, but I was suddenly so excited as if I did. 😂 My exact reaction:
Tumblr media
Sorry, I ramble because I love talking about them whoops. lol. BUT HOW GREAT IS THAT SCENE?!?!?!?!
Tumblr media
....................anyway. xD
I was trying to say I've been shipping them no brakes for 7.5 years now. It's a lonely road, but I'm on it. Hahaha. I'm happy to share what content my self-indulgence has created.
I have a small sketch dump I can upload later. I wasn't sure if I was going to add to it or not, but I can go ahead. :)
For further FM fic reading... idk. There's the short tag (half of it me pfft) on AO3 you've read. I have several WIPs in the fire, I just have to buckle down and finish them. 😅 I have gone into the Daredevil Kink Meme before when I've been really desperate for FM fics. There aren't a lot of prompts for them, of course, and even fewer that have been filled, but there's still some not on AO3.
ALSO! I am 24/7/365 accepting FiskMatt prompts in my inbox. I can't guarantee I'll fill a prompt or that I'll fill it in a timely manner, but I'd love to get one that tickles my interests or even just inspires me in other ways. ♥
And, to state the obvious, there's always the comics for more content with Fisk and Matt. Daredevil comics are 98% of the reason I have a Marvel Unlimited subscription. (But there are places to read for free. Let me know if you're interested.) None of it is overtly shippy (though I can read between so many lines), but it still contains really good plots and interactions.
Tumblr media
(And less good ones. ↓)
Like Fisk's room of commissioned art detailing Daredevil's torment and death in numerous paintings. Which the two of them stand in for a casual conversation with Matt unable to see what is on the canvases. Mmmmmmm.

So, I am reading @deadcatwithaflamethrower OaLC for the, like, fourth time or something and I noticed a Thing and am now having Thinky Thoughts about it. It's like, two on the morning, these are gonna be a bit Rambly. Anyway.
What I noticed was that Nizar said something along the lines of "Edward black is terrified of hurting other people, I'm gonna have to fix that" (super paraphrasing, I've been up too long to check the actual line, it's somewhere in the first part) and, to my eternal delight/consternation, I, strenuously, disagree.
Delight because it makes the character feel so much more Real when you can disagree with them, especially when you know where they're coming from. Consternation because I have developed a bit of a Button regarding popular media's insistence that one must be willing/able to hurt another person to be Badass or even worth telling a story about. I, myself, am a soft spoken tender hearted fool and often find the characters I most relate to stripped of the very thing I related so much too, an unwillingness and/or inability to hurt another person, in the name of "growth".
Which is not to criticize the story, I Love it to bits and pieces, I mean, I've read it Multiple times. And beyond that, I Really get where Nizar (I really hope I've been spelling that right) is coming from, his time was Full of conflict AND he's teaching Defense AND they're literally in the middle of a war. Also, I was genuinely delighted to run across something I would disagree with him on AND that I found something new in the story on this reread. (Side note, I would Love to have this debate with Nizar, like, in person. I think it would be fun and also a Big Clash of, like, modern vs historical sensibilities. Cause, like, for Nizar, being able a willing to defend yourself was a necessary skill, you Had to have it AND (I'm pretty sure please don't yell at me if I'm wrong, but do gently correct cause I love learning, especially about history) that the 13/14 years old that Edward is in the story rn is, hmmmm, I don't wanna say closer to being an Adult, but, like, Distinctly Different to how I, a modern individual, would look at someone of that age and Immediately go A Child, so, like, while Nizar isn't exactly Happy that his class is necessary, he's less inclined to coddle and more inclined to throw them in the deep end (while waiting on the sidelines ready to dive in a help) and push for them to get comfortable with violence.) (I would also argue that a. Defense is mandatory for this year so forcing kids to get comfortable hurting people at this point when it's a required class is unfair and b. Running, as Nizar himself said, is always a viable option and, if they don't wanna run from a battle, there are all sorts of ways to be useful there Without needing to hurt someone, such as getting their friends out of danger (also, I Know that edward is a gryffindor, but Assuming that just because he's a gryff means that he Wants to fight is shortsighted and, also, discounts the bravery of those who go through life and refuse to hurt people (not that I know enough about edward as a character to state as to whether or not he Wants to work past that discomfort and be a traditional protector, it was more the fact that Nizar's first instinct was to do that and not to talk to edward about what kind of defense skills HE would want and use (though I will cut the man some slack, he was a painting, like, three weeks before or something))
Mostly this is tired excited flailing and also cemented to myself that OaLC is something I will Always come back and reread to see both what I missed the previous times and how the way my personality changes with age change the way I see and interact with the story.
It's a Really Good Story y'all
