I doubt Grimm has seen something like this before, but he's clever and he can guess. The Pale King could not escape his fate forever, just delay it long enough to save what little remains of Hollownest. Just long enough to dethrone the Radiance.

My personal feelings on people headcanoning the Hollow Knight world as small is that it always feels uncomfortably like looking at a world where there are no humans and immediately deciding we'd have to be overpowered supergiants that are being worshipped more than the actual gods.

I've seen it paired with takes that PK or even Radiance would be helpless before a god, when Radiance in particular is, you know, a god of dreams shown to be able to affect or press on just about anything with a mind to the point that other deities were scared of her, and even if she was the size of a soccer ball she'd pose a significant threat to an ordinary person.

Ruka's point about the nails being obviously in-name-only, that the scavenged weapons are scavenged from the corpses of larger creatures and not from any evidence of a bigger creature civilization also grates on me because not only is it literally a plot point in strengthening your weapon that the nailsmith works raw ore, nail weaponry is obviously a sophisticated technology with cultural and practical variations in how they're made... but it feels lavishly patronizing to look at a character like the Nailsmith who is very explicitly being driven by a single-minded obsession to make the perfect weapon, and insist he has to just be stealing thumbtacks from humanity, that he can't possibly compete with.

Like I'm in neither the position nor the desire to run around other people's blogs screaming at them until they Forsake Their Ideas, people think what they will think, but I think it's important to ask questions of, why do we believe what we believe? The idea that the HK bugs are tiny seems to come inextricably paired with the notion they are subordinate to humans, which there's no existence of humanity in HK. We don't even see evidence of mammals. Some bugs mostly resemble earth wildlife, but others? The God Tamer's beast was a lobster in its original concepts.

I think lots of people tend to forget how much power Lurien actually has in terms of status.

Like he has the tallest building in the city, it is within the centre and that funnel is entirely the spire, not like the sanctum where it is only a small section but the whole thing is that guy’s house.

Of course he has the Watcher Knights and though we fight six alongside the background knights there actually is about sixteenish knights, so sixteen highly trained beefy knights attacking you at once if you try to scale, a very key point is that the knights we do fight are hollow dead carcasses, so take that in.

One very small subtle detail is the fact that he has a pair of statues in his tower. To be real I even didn’t think much of it until I traveled around Hallownest and found out that excluding any memorial statues and white palace statues ( they are in the dream realm so we can’t be sure if they are normally there) no other person has a statue aside from the pale king, not even the root, I will have a bit of a talk about her later as I also found out something odd about her. EDIT (The dash master also has a statue but that is outside of Hallownestian boarders so I don’t count that.)

One final notes are some objects that he only has within city area, he has a large stone tablet to himself which once again only the king shared the same, (Monomon and Soul Master have odd hand created tube things and other tablets are used as public notice.) He has a telescope, a one of a kind item not seen anywhere else in the game (even if there was others this one is massive finely embellished and still works meaning something certainly.) And He is clearly one of the richest bugs in the city, I mean personal guards, a huge tower, also just tons of geo available in his tower.

All this kinda pulls together to show that he is right on top probably just below the king in terms of status.

a fanfiction has been boiling up from my soul recently. It's hollow knight x one piece crossover self insert. protag-kun wakes up on a barren sandbar with the void-void fruit, and turns into a pocket of the voidsea (logia). there's a lot of shapeshifter fantasy revolving around masks, and a lot of grandiose god lore about the Dream, and i'm currently trying to fit in an ISOT plot with the island of hallownest. I have never willingly written a thing in my life and i haven't even written any of what i've talked about in this post help

guys, I don't know about you but, let Jason be dead. Like? Yeah, it's sad he's gone but that kinda the fucking point?

Heroes of Olympus was literally them making sure that the Doors of Death and Thanatos kept on taking souls. Jason helped with that. He would not be down to return after literally everything they all did to make sure this wouldn't happen.

Also, prophecies. For a prophecy, this one was pretty straightforward on who was going to die. It's either Piper or Jason. Jason was part of two prophecies where it was either him or one of his friends. That's a bit telling that it's his time.

Also, that death was arguably the most important death in the pentologies. He was a main character. It raises the stakes. Not everyone is safe to live a happily ever after. Especially not one who is a demigod.

I can understand wanting Jason back fanfics exist. But this is mainly directed to those who deny the book series existence because of this.
