Ok, so I came to Japan to watch Utsukushii Kare Eternal and I saw it today. I don't speak Japanese and there weren't any subtitles but I wanna recap what I remembered in case other interfans want to know. I also haven’t read the novels so I only know seasons 1 and 2 of the story.

Spoilers very much ahead.

The opening scene is like the last scene of S1 where HiraKiyo are naked with a fuckton of tulle. But way more tulle in the movie than season 1. They're both also literally blanketed by the tulle. They are also laying around Hira's camera, and Kiyoi's necklace, and the duck. Hira goes to kiss Kiyoi and Hira is woken up from his dream and he's at work. Hira and Kiyoi are both at work and they are talking to the mentor and Anna about the other and it's a lot of intercutting scenes of them in the present both reminiscing and flashing back to season 1. No scenes from s2 are in the movie as I immediate recall. A few s2 scenes are redone like Hira saying "Kiyoi (sans kun)" near the other fans but it's different than the s2 version.

The HiraKiyo A plot as I think I understand it - Domestic happy life. Hira’s cousin is moving into the house so HiraKiyo look for an apartment together. (I'm not 100% on if she's moving in but she shows up and she and Hira have a talk and then soon thereafter HiraKiyo are looking for an apartment together). HiraKiyo take a bath together and ngl it’s really hot. Kiyoi does his shy look away thing after Hira kisses his hand but Hira keeps kissing his hands and shoulders. Kiyoi is turned away from Hira and facing a mirror and Hira keeps kissing and moving up on him and the camera gets in close as Hira is kissing Kiyoi all over. The camera moves away to the other side of the tub while they smash and you hear Kiyoi moaning Hira’s name. And Captain Duck is swept out of the tub by the fucking lmao. I think Hira feels guilty about losing the house so he cooks a lot of food (part of this scene was the bonus scene at the end of the Utsukare Season 1 special edit version). Kiyoi does get Hira to feed him shrimp croquettes. Kiyoi hugs Hira from behind while Hira is cooking. The under the blue cover scene has Hira mounting and starting to go to town on Kiyoi but he stops himself and walks out dejectedly. Kiyoi extricates himself from the covers is looks super flustered/turned on.

B plot is their jobs. Hira’s mentor takes some photos of Anna and later Kiyoi. Hira is an assistant for the Anna photo shoot (which honestly was fucking amazing. It was literally the expression “make love to the camera” it was in waterfall/pond and it was so hot and erotic and fun. Didn’t expect it but it was cool.) Hira doesn’t show up on the day Hira’s mentor shoots Kiyoi and Kiyoi is looking for him. Kiyoi continues to work with Anna but Anna gets pap’d with her secret bf and it seems like Anna having a secret bf is a big fucking deal. The fans outside the Anna Kiyoi set find out via twitter or something and then Anna cries alone a lot and the Kiyoi agency staff look very concerned and sad. Kiyoi and agent/manager/not as flamboyantly dressed one go secretly to Anna’s hotel and they have a talk. Then Kiyoi gets pap’d leaving Anna’s hotel so some people were speculating Anna and Kiyoi were together. Kiyoi is also facing some reprecussions from this speculation and he's super sad in his office perched on a windowsill reading twitter comments and posts about himself and Hira texts him and Kiyoi cries. Like the engine of the movie is the b plot after Anna gets pap'd with her secret dude and then people thinking she and Kiyoi are together.

That leads to the C plot/act 3 Hira’s stalker friend kidnaps Kiyoi. But for some reason he calls Hira to tell Hira he's kidnapped Kiyoi. (there was a lot of villanous monologuing while Kiyoi was bound and then the guy pushes him down and also kicks Kiyoi a few times before making the call). Hira goes full dark crazy Kira mode and shows up and beats the shit out of the dude. Kiyoi is pretty damseled in this scene and mostly just screams for Hira to stop and then Hira flips into cute "I live to serve you" mode and gets Kiyoi out of those ridiculously loose ribbons. Then the stalker dude is getting up and Hira is flipping back and forth really fast between Kira and Hira modes and ends up having to shove Kiyoi down and tells him to run while Hira and stalker dude fight. And Kira becomes like the terminator and is following the other stalker dude and beating him down but then he flips back into Hira and is walking back to Kiyoi while cutely saying Kiyoi over and over and other dude attacks Hira from behind and then stabs Hira in the stomach. Then Hira hallucinates Kiyoi coming to hug him (trailer scene) and it’s cut between that hallucination and Kiyoi literally screaming and crying cuz Hira is dying and then fade to black.

End phase/finale - Hira survives lol. Hira and Kiyoi help Anna out of her situation by having Hira’s mentor do a photo shoot with this random j-pop idol looking guy who ends up being Anna’s secret boo thing. Cougar fr. Then the end scene is a wedding themed photo shoot for Anna and idol guy. Then they ask Kiyoi to join them. Then mentor guy tells Hira to shoot Kiyoi and at first Hira can’t but then Kiyoi tells/commands Hira in Kiyoi's Dom voice and then Hira does and then they have a long photo shooting sequence and that’s where Kiyoi shows off his body. Hira graduates and he and Koyama (who is barely in the movie) have a "I'll see you around" kind of goodbye and then Hira goes to the riverside where Kiyoi is, a cherry blossom petal falls on Kiyoi and he picks it off like s1e1 and Hira is taking pictures of him and Kiyoi calls Hira stalker and they chat and then Hira leads them back to the school. And Hira confesses/declares/has a lengthy monologue at Kiyoi - he definitely tells Kiyoi directly that he likes him, while Kiyoi is like crying but smiling and facing Hira's confession directly. And then they’re about to kiss (all of their mouth to mouth kisses are interrupted or offscreen) and the teacher from season 1 is there at the school (for some reason at this unspecified date and time) and he is chastising them and then chasing them and Hira leads Kiyoi through a long series of slow-mo runs through the school while they switch/flashback into their old wardrobes - their full formal blue uniforms and their causal white/beige school clothes. And then they end up outside and have another water hose fight and that transitions into then hooking up at home? mouth kissing for the only time in the movie in a lot of tulle again. The ending sequence is their most high heat scene. Hira is kissing Kiyoi's chest a lot and a lot of mouth and neck kisses.

I think mentor guy might have had a thing for Anna and was maybe sad she has a boo thang and maybe Hira tells mentor he's dating Kiyoi so Kiyoi for sure isn't dating Anna.

I don't know if Kiyoi or Hira told other stalker guy they're dating. But both Kiyoi alone and Hira and Kiyoi exchanged words with him during the kidnapping scene.

the scene where Hira gets the "I kidnapped your boyfriend call" was really fucking well done. Hira is walking up stairs away from the camera when he gets the call and they drop the lights and make it super dark and that pans up into Hira's bangs and his Kira expression/kubric stare-esque and it was super cool

I think Yusei wears a shirt for Kiyoi that he also wears in his other series. The cloudy white and blue dress shirt.

The end sequence of Hira shooting Kiyoi was really fun and hot. Kiyoi takes off his tie and has it in his mouth with his shirt unbuttoned but tucked in so it's framing his abs. Apparently Riku directed that scene and I would personally like to thank him for his contribution to the arts

Kiyoi's theme wasn't in the movie a lot. The movie has its own OST and the movie songs share some melodies with the s1 ost but it was a lot of new music

the color grading was blue af. A lot of blue in the lights, glass, wardrobe, sheets, etc etc

I think Hira has told his cousin that he and Kiyoi are dating.

Hira, Kiyoi, cousin, and nephew all welcome and greet Anna after her scandal and Anna might hide out at Hira's place for a bit until Hira and Kiyoi do their surprise with bringing the idol into Mentor's studio

Kiyoi looks hella fond and proud when Hira interacts with Anna at Hira's house. And right in front of Hira. Later when Kiyoi and Anna are alone, Kiyoi says something including that Hira is gross and Anna agrees and Kiyoi blusters at her and she fondly apologizes

Ok that's the majority of what I remember. I am gonna see the movie again, so I'll update if I remember or see a scene I didn't recap here

Taylor Swift Albums As Aru Shah Characters (or vice-versa) (???)

Debut: Hira. She's young, seemingly innocent, but she's definitely experienced more than her fair share of heartbreaks and sadness. While singing along to Tim McGraw, Our Song, or Picture To Burn, she draws on those first few moments when she met Brynne. The country style and easy patterns soothe her- she definitely loves Shania Twain, too.

Fearless TV: Kara. Needless to say, most everything she's done to get to this point has required her to be fearless. She is all forbidden destinies and regrets, crying and hoping and crying some more. She'd definitely scream along to Fearless, and You Belong With Me, and sometimes with the Sleeper she'd hum Fifteen and Love Story- just for the feeling of a normal childhood.

Speak Now TV: Rudy. He only picked this because he saw the fabulous purple album cover and thought of dark benevolent queen. He thinks of the first time he met Mini when he listens to Enchanted, because he's sure the whole world is in love with death's daughter. He recreates the intricate sounds of Better Than Revenge, Speak Now, and Sparks Fly with his stones, soon getting his own recording studio to record his instrumental covers of them. And of course, Mean empowers him to brush past all the idiots who made fun of him being colorblind and a failure- cause they're pathetic and alone in life and mean.

Red TV: Malini. Do I even need to explain? Throughout the separation and divorce with Aiden's dad, she definitely listened to All To Well (Ten Minute Version) on repeat, nostalgically played 22 for Aiden, and finally, when she got a girl's night out, played We Are Never Getting Back Together. The heartbreak and cheating in Red highlights all her relationship troubles and how she comes out of them stronger in the end.

1989: Brynne. It's her workout music all the way. And life music too. She does HIIT sessions to Shake It Off and New Romantics, and dances to Out Of The Woods with Hira when it's late and they can't sleep. The feeling of reinvention and starting anew really draws her to the album- and who can blame her? (Plus, she was totally jamming to Rudy's TSwift battle music in SoD)

Reputation: Aru. She struggles with her legacy, her reputation, throughout the series. The thrumming beats and quick mood shifts of ...Ready For It? stimulate her ever-speeding mind and she loves making fun of Aiden with Gorgeous, the entire song a huge excuse to outright flirt with him. Getaway Car is her and Rudy's go-to car song when they drive alone, and there are days when Aiden finds her crying to Dress and Delicate in the shower. During and after the final battle, Don't Blame Me and I Did Something Bad were the only things she could hear in her ears- they were deafening, and a way of her brain guilting and processing all the events.

Lover: Aiden. I immediately knew this was his. He's surrounded by love, constantly, despite being afraid of it, calling upon Death By A Thousand Cuts. With his mom he softly sings Soon You'll Get Better and with Brynne and Mini they karaoke It's Nice To Have A Friend. His dad gets a very blurry video of Aiden and Bee one year in Father's Day in pink cowboy boots singing I Forgot That You Existed and his father never texts back. Ever the feminist and bisexual icon, he's out here bopping to The Man and You Need To Calm Down. He makes fun of Aru liking I Think He Knows, but that's nothing compared to his 2 am serenades of Lover. His favorites, though, are Paper Rings and ME!

Folklore: Mini. The med student of Epiphany. The calm, the quiet, the casual anxious spirals. Yearning at desperate when she hears Invisible String, Rudy cries when she sings it. Her mom hates Exile, but Mini hears it and thinks of all the ways she could fail and cries to it some nights. Seven reminds her of running around in a field of sunflowers as a little kid, not a care in the world, forgetting allergies, grades, or Pandava stuff. August is her back to school calling, a reminder of responsibilities and how they're not always bad. Cardigan is her pick me up when she's missing Rudy- not that he's ever too far.

Evermore: Suyodhana. Willow. He can't love the way he wants to, he can't say yes without worrying about everything- he is Champagne Problems. Forbidden, murderous, No Body, No Crime was made for him.

Midnights: Krithika. The definition of Anti-Hero. A lot of the series wouldn't exist without her causing more and more problems, despite being well-intentioned, she keeps messing up, and finally in NoI she starts owning up. Her glittering confidence in the early books beckon to Bejeweled and her ever-sermonizing self would scream Karma at the top of her lungs. Question...? would remind her of everything she left in the lamp, Suyodhana, Aru's chance at a father- the love of her life.

Untitled YA Novel Chapter 22: This is When Things Go From Chaotic to Bad

First Chapter || More

10:37 AM local time

Secret Submarine Base, Cuba

With a good seven or eight Silenced goods trapped behind the garage door, and another dozen or so out in the submarine pen, not counting the Silenced Zlilfians flying around currently harassing Hira, Mike was in a bad spot. He needed to keep the ground forces occupied, and try to drag any of the fliers away from Hira so she could rescue Rafe.

And all Mike had was one baton, and a taser with about six more shots, more if he could space them out properly. Honestly, he zoned out while they were explaining the mechanics. The taser could recharge after a minute or so, but it takes longer to go from empty to full than it does if he only shoots once or twice to let it recharge.

But first things first.

Mike dodged a punch from a submarine pen guard. He had to move, whatever he was going to do he had to do it fast and now. He really missed having Justin around, that was a kid with a plan. Mike never had a good plan. He just had instinct and reaction.

And maybe a little bit of spite.

Mike very quickly shot the man that just tried to punch him. The man dropped to the ground unconscious and twitching a little bit. Mike couldn't help but smile. Serves that guy right.

Then he immediately turned and started running.

Mike ran as fast as he could, jumping over a few low boxes and dodging blows from a couple of nearby people. He could feel his heart beating a million miles an hour, but he couldn't hear it which creeped him out something fierce.

He quickly shot two people in front of him, dropping them with taser blasts. He was trying to count how many he'd used but in the chaos of the battle it was hard. And it was so quiet he couldn't hear himself think.

He tried to keep running, but he had stopped to fire those two shots, and that's when someone caught up to him. They hit him really hard in the back with something that felt metal and heavy.

Mike cried out in pain, he knew he did, but he didn't hear it. He spun around, pull out the baton as he did and connected with the person that hit him. The blow was terrible and it rocked Mike's whole arm, and instantly he felt bad as the man dropped to the ground in clear pain.

"Sorry," Mike mouthed as he turned and ran as fast as he could.

He did his best, and kept moving. He knew that if he stayed still it would only end badly for him.

He shoulder-checked a few people as he ran by them, took a few heavy hits from people he couldn't hear coming up from his blind spots.

After a minute or so of this running and fighting strategy, Mike finally saw something that could level the playing field a bit. He ran over to a small collection of boxes with a net loosely hung over it. He didn't have time to think about the net or what it could possibly have been used for, but he ripped it off the pile.

He kept running away form the innumerable people chasing him, and was hoping that a moment would present itself sooner rather than later.

Sure enough Hira obliged him and stopped for a moment in mid-air to fight with another zlilfian chasing her.

After exchanging blows, Hira landed and sprinted off towards Mike. He nodded in wordless understanding. They ran by each other, Hira swinging out with her two batons hitting as many people as she could. Mike ran towards the incoming zlilfians. They tried to go by him, but he threw the net up and managed to entangle two of them, dragging them to the ground.

Taking the opportunity to shoot the bees in the barrel, Mike tased the two downed zlilfians. He moved on quickly after that, trying to go back to his old tactics.

Hira had been being chased by the Silenced zlilfians this whole time, and her wings were starting to get tired. She had to land to give them a rest, and traded enemies with Mike briefly.

The human teen had managed to get a large following of people chasing him around. Hira took the opportunity to hit a couple in the legs as she ran by them, hopefully slowing them down.

But that didn't really matter as much, because Rafe was chasing her down.

She need to get Rafe alone, so she could do... whatever it was she was going to do.

Without thinking about what she was going to do, she once again reversed direction, turning on the approaching Rafe and other zlilfians she regretfully didn't know. She dodge a few attacks by Rafe as she stung one zlilfian and got into a quick and dirty duel with another. But something Alt said before they left still rang in her mind, "There are no dirty tricks when you're fighting for your life."

Taking those words to heart, Hire slapped the zlilfian right in the eyes. Her opponent stumbled, stunned and agitated and unable to see, Hira took advantage and hit them a few times with her baton to drop them to the ground.

But in that time, Rafe came up behind her and attacked.

Hira narrowly dodged that blow. By the sun she was tired, but she needed to get out of this chaotic fray. She fly up to one of the catwalks above her, and sure enough Rafe followed her.

She briefly noticed another zlilfian trying to take off to follow her, but Mike suddenly jumped up off the ground and tackled and enemy out of the air. Hira liked that crazy kid, he was a little strange, but he was incredible.

Hira and Rafe landed on one of the catwalks above the submarine pens and above the rest of the fighting.

How did she do this? How was she supposed to confront her friend? Was she supposed to fight her into submission?

Rafe went to attack her, moving strangely both too slow and too fast at the same time, like she was some bizarre marionette.

Hira blocked the attacks but couldn't bring herself to counter attack, it didn't feel right. Rafe continued to try and hit her, to pummel her, and Hira just kept defending. She couldn't think of what else to do.

Then she had an extremely stupid idea.

Hira flew a few feet backwards on the catwalk, to give herself space from Rafe. Then she disarmed herself, taking off the batons and dropping them to the steal grating. There were no words she could use to express herself, even if Rafe could hear them.

Instead she stood there and waited for Rafe to come to her.

For a moment, for a quick second, there was hesitation in her movements. And for that second, Hira had hope.

Then there was the continued attack. Rafe was Silenced, and the Silence wanted her to fight Hira. She knew that Rafe had no choice but to fight her, but she had a choice. And her choice was to not hurt her friend.

Rafe hit Hira twice with the batons, and by the sun they smarted. They hurt real bad. But Hira wasn't going to fight her best friend.

There was another pause in Rafe's movements before she went in for another round of hits. And that's when Hira played her one, stupid, card.

She rushed into Rafe, who immediately took a step backwards. She tried to fly away but Hira used her own wings to propel herself forward.

Hira moved into Rafe's space and wrapped her arms around her friend in a tight hug.

Rafe tried to struggle against the grapple, but Hira held on strong.

Then she did the second part of her stupid plan. She pressed her face up against Rafe's. The flat part of their faces, right between the eyes, touched. Hira closed her eyes, and took a breath. She could feel her antenna touching Rafe's.

Then feeling was electric, bordering on overload, it was nice though. It gave Hira a shiver down her entire back and out her wings.

The intimate touch caused Rafe to stop. The touch was a way for Hira to show Rafe closeness, intimacy, and that she was there for her. A touch that said, "You are important to me, and I am here for you, whatever you need," but without speaking. She hoped to convince Rafe, wherever she was buried in there, that despite everything, Hira was still her friend, that she was still there for her.

For a few moments Rafe tried to fight against the touch, the hold, but then a second later she went still. Hira finally pulled back when Rafe went still and looked at her.

There was a confused expression. Confused and scared. Scared quickly took over confused when Rafe tried to speak to Hira.

As fast as she could, Hira added Rafe to the group chat.

"Bad guy = Silence, weird thing, controls people. Good guy = kid down there. We've got to help him. You ok?"

Rafe read the text as fast as she could. She then nodded and motioned for Hira to lead, she would follow.

Justin made it into the command deck. He needed to go fast and do what he needed to do before the Silence outside got tired of chasing Mike and Hira around.

He grabbed a can of spray paint. He was just about to get started when he saw movement out of the corner of his eye. He turned to see walking into the command deck none other than Bradford Frost himself.

The Potatoes' first time drinking (when they're over 21):

Aru says she's going for the record, but gets wasted after half a shot...of beer...

Can't stop laughing. She literally laughs at everything. Ex) She looks at her own finger, sees she has gold nailpolish on, and falls out of her seat, cracking up.

"yOu GuYs DaRe Me To BaCkFlIp OfF tHiS tAbLe???" "NO!" "OoOoKaAaY!" *flops into Aiden's arms*

"yOu'Re CuTe! ArE yOu SiNgLe???" "I have a girlfriend." *Aru bursts into tears* "IT'S YOU! YOU'RE MY GIRLFRIEND!" "I wAnNa Be YoUr WiFe!" "Wha-" "YOU MAY KISS THE BRIDE!!!" *pulls Aiden in for a REALLY long kiss*

Mini firmly refuses at first, pointing out every known way alcohol has killed, but relents with white wine.

Barely shows any emotion (basically a kuudere at this point)

No longer has any restraint on her disturbing facts so now they just come rapidfire. "dUsT hAs HuMaN sKiN cElLs. nAiLs AnD hAiR kEeP gRoWiNg AfTeR yOu DiE."

Brynne is a heavyweight and, after some glasses of tequila, gets into a drinking match...with herself...

Hira has to stop her but Brynne's shyness is now amplified, so she hides behind her hands blushing the second she talks to her

"WHAT'RE YOU LOOKIN AT?!? AAPKA BAAP KE CHEHRA??? YOU WANNA FIGHT?!?" "Brynne, that's a chair-" "STOP WINKIN' AT MAH WOMAN!" *bodyslams the chair into pieces*

Rudy sneaks in his own drinks from his father's royal stash.

It's 2 parts alcohol, 3 parts cobra venom. Don't worry, there's magic making it non-lethal. You'll still be tripping though.

Cries over everything. "AAAAIDEN! i HaVe TwO tAiLs! WhAt Do I dO???" "Rudy, those are your legs-" "i'M AN ABOMINATION!!!"

"I'M ROYALTY! I DECREE THAT RUDY ROX BE MADE A HOUSEHOLD NAME AND MY QUINI IS TREATED LIKE A MEEN!!!"

Aiden is the designated driver. He has to deal with everyone's nonsense sober.

The car ride home is torture, but the pics and recordings he took make it worth the trouble.

Unfortunately, he's still on babysitting duty when everyone wakes up with their hangovers...

for kara’s birthday, hira handmade all sorts of gifts for her and hid them around. kara cried.

they exchange friendship bracelets, both their wrists are completely covered in them

hira took kara to a pottery class one time. it didn’t end well (she still treasures the monstrosity of a mug they made together)

kara got hira a burrito blanket for christmas

𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐀 𝐁𝐋𝐔𝐑. Her memories shut away and one thing was left in her mind: Kill her family. She had been warned that this would happen, that her meddling had consequences. She had been caught and these were the consequences. She could not remember how she screamed and cried and begged for them to just kill her instead of going after Harley and Toni but all of those cries had been dismissed. Kiyoi had a splitting headache. He opened his bleary eyes and looked around the room. For a second everything felt alien.It didn't take long however for reality came to come hurtling at him like a train.

He'd spent the night in the other room. In between his bitter thoughts and tears, he wasn't sure when sleep had finally granted him a reprieve.

Running his fingers through his hair he walked gingerly to the door and listened.

It was quiet.

With a wildly thumping heart he opened the door, his mind a mess of thoughts. He'd thought about it a million times. The first words he would say to Hira when he saw him. What would they be? "I'm sorry?" "I was wrong?" "It wasn't your fault?" ,nothing seemed good enough to convey his feelings.

Each step felt like it was bringing him closer to the point of reckoning.

He walked into the living room.

It was empty.

On the table there were piles of coins and the broken camera, poignant reminders of what had transpired the night before.His chest tightened.

He walked to the kitchen.

Empty.

His steps became that much lighter as he walked to the bedroom he shared with Hira.He gently opened the door.

Empty.

The bed was neatly made.Hira was nowhere in sight.

Kiyoi frowned.

He checked the bathroom.

Nothing.

He went to the backyard.

Empty.

Hira really wasn't there.

He looked at his watch, still being fully dressed in the previous day's outfit. It was just 8 a.m. He tried to recall what day it was. Wednesday.Hira wouldn't usually be gone at this hour..unless..

His words came floating back to him.

"Go Away!"...

"Leave me alone"...

But he wouldn't...

He didn't finish the thought and darted for his phone.

He was just about to dial Hira's number when Tanaka's name lit up the screen for an incoming call.

[Where are you?] Tanaka sounded anxious

"Home." Kiyoi replied.

[You were supposed to be on set an hour ago] Tanaka grumbled. [I called you so many times. Are you still sick?]

Looking around the empty house,he wanted to say he was feeling much worse than yesterday. Today was the day he truly felt sick. He had a splitting headache and his heart was unsettled.

"I'm sorry. I overslept. I'll be there soon."

Tanaka grumpily instructed him on where to go before ending the call.

Kiyoi took a quick shower and got dressed just as quickly. Looking at himself in the mirror he sighed. His under eyes were swollen, no doubt from the buckets he'd cried the night before.It couldn't be helped. Grabbing a pair of glasses he rushed out the door.

A part of him was glad Hira wasn't there.He was still trying to figure out exactly what to say.

"Are you sure you aren't still sick?" Tanaka asked when Kiyoi arrived within the hour. "You look terrible. Your eyes are swollen."

Kiyoi tried to feign a smile. "I'm fine.I just have a headache"

His manager eyed him suspiciously.

"Let's just get you into hair and makeup.We'll worry about the rest later." Tanaka looked at him again "I'll get you some coffee and some medicine."

Kiyoi nodded.

Finding where he was supposed to get ready ,two people swooped in as soon as he sat down --one focused on his hair, the other on his face.

He retrieved his phone and checked the logs. There were quite a few missed calls from Tanaka but nothing from Hira. The last time his name appeared in the log was 3 days ago.

There were no messages either.

He frowned.

Maybe he should send a message.

[Where are you----] he began typing but deleted it just as quickly as he'd typed it.

[Hira...I'm sorry---] Deleted

[Let's go for lunch---] Still not right. Deleted.

His frown deepened. He wasn't used to apologizing.

He was so busy going back and forth on this issue that he hardly noticed that the makeup person's movements had stopped.She seemed transfixed by whatever she was looking at. Kiyoi tilted his head and looked at her.A deep blush was on her cheeks as she looked at him, then to the hairstylist whose eyes went to the same spot on his neck.

Suddenly he remembered.

He'd made love with Hira two nights ago.The evidence must still be there.

Realizing they'd been caught staring both women jolted back into the action. The makeup artist had an apologetic look on her face as she gingerly applied products to the red areas as though she was afraid of hurting him.

Tanaka returned in short order, handing him the coffee and some pills.

"This should help you to feel better."

"Thanks." he threw the pills back before taking a few sips of his coffee. This could help him with his headache but what about his aching heart? What kind of medicine could he take?

"Here are your lines for today." Kiyoi was handed a few sheets of paper.

Today he would be shooting a promo piece for an event he would be a part of in a few weeks with other members of his agency.

He read the highlighted sections. Perhaps he could try focusing on work.It might help to take his mind off the sorry state he was actually in.

"Give it your best today." Tanaka encouraged with two thumbs up as he walked on to the set.

He nodded.

"Ready...and action!" The set director called out.

At the command, Kiyoi delivered his lines.

"That was good but let's try it again.With more energy this time." the director critiqued.

With a nod, he waited for the command to come again.

In all, it took about 6 takes for the director to be appeased.

"You did well." Tanaka commended as he left the set.

"Thank you."

Now that the shoot was over, Kiyoi's mind was once again inundated with thoughts of Hira.He checked his phone again.

Nothing.

The anxiety that had been wrapped tightly in his chest was beginning to mushroom.He had to find a way to make up with Hira and soon.

These thoughts were occupying his mind when his manager's phone rang. As he listened to the other party Tanaka's face became pale and his steps slowed. He looked at Kiyoi, confused.

"Ok.I understand." He ended the call with whomever was on the line.

"Kiyoi." Tanaka called.

"Yes?" Kiyoi gave his attention.

His manager walked to his side.

"Did something happen yesterday?"

"What do you mean?"

Tanaka didn't look like he wanted to say more.

"I have to take you to the agency for a meeting."

"When?"

Tanaka looked at his watch, his tone ominous.

"Right now."

**********************************Hira************************************

"What's wrong?" Koyama asked the moment he saw Hira enter the club room.

His head and shoulders were drooped unusually low.

Hira shook his head, his bangs swayed.

"Nothing." he dragged himself to his work desk.Fortunately it was only them present today.

"Don't lie." Koyama looked at his neck "And where's your camera?"

"At home." Hira replied

Koyama was confused.

"Why's it at home?"

"It's broken."

"Broken?!" Koyama was shocked. "What happened?" he questioned, taking the seat next to Hira

"It fell."

Koyama was clearly suspicious. In the time he'd known Hira he always knew him to be careful, especially with his camera. By appearances he might sometimes look like a clumsy person but Koyama knew better.

"Something happened." Koyama was no longer asking. "Tell me. Is it Kiyoi?"

At the mention of his name Hira's heart twitched. By his outward reaction Koyama also got the confirmation he needed.

"What did Kiyoi do?"

"N-n-nothing." Hira denied it.

It wasn't Kiyoi. Kiyoi wasn't the problem, it was him.He was the one that had caused Kiyoi problems.

"It was me." he hung his head low and looked at his hands.

"What did you do?"

Koyama's face was frozen in shock after Hira recounted what had happened the day before.

"Kiyoi did that?"

Hira nodded.

"But it was my fault. I--I--I shouldn't have let that happen."

Koyama rubbed the back of his neck.

"Akira likes you?"

Hira nodded.

"I guess I can understand Kiyoi. I would have gotten mad too." Koyama couldn't believe his own words but he couldn't deny the truth.Hira had looked so amazing yesterday.If Kiyoi hadn't been there, he would have probably tried flirting with him a little himself. He also knew that whether Kiyoi readily admitted it or not, he was quite possessive of Hira. He recalled the nasty looks he'd often received from those cold eyes.

Hira sighed.It really was his fault. He was a blemish on his star.

"What are you going to do?" Koyama broke into his thoughts " You still have more time left in your internship."

Hira was still looking at his hands. Koyama was right. He still had a few weeks left. He hadn't thought about it before now.He would still need to work with Akira until the end but now with things as they were, he wasn't sure how he would proceed. It wasn't like when Koyama had confessed to him and he'd just quit the club for a while, there were more stakeholders involved this time.

If he just quit he'd have to report to his professor who would want to know why. If he pressed,there was no way Kiyoi could be left out of it.That would be bad.

On the other hand, if he stayed on with his internship, Kiyoi would be mad.He didn't want Kiyoi to be unhappy because of him.

Hira sighed deeply.

Koyama patted him on the shoulder comfortingly.

"I don't want to cause any trouble for Kiyoi." he said.

"For Kiyoi?" Koyama was incredulous "What about for yourself? I understand Kiyoi was upset but do you realize the position he's put you in? What about you?"

Hira blinked.

"What about me?"

"God Hira. Are you ever only going to think about him?" Koyama was passionate."Kiyoi has never claimed you as his partner so of course people are going to approach you." Koyama relayed "And then he gets mad about it." Hira was silent "I'm not excusing what Akira did but as far as he knew, you were single--you were fair game."

"But Kiyoi---"

"But Kiyoi again." Koyama shook his head. "Let me ask you this. It's now 4 pm.Has Kiyoi called you yet?Has he even said he's sorry?"

Hira shook his head "He's probably just busy."

Koyama clicked his tongue in disgust.

"I knew it!" he exclaimed "Busy? Too busy to pick up the phone and call?" He rolled his eyes. "That guy is selfish. He only cares about himself."

"Don't say that! Kiyoi is a wonderful person."

"So wonderful he doesn't care about how you might be feeling? So wonderful he might have ruined one of your best opportunities as a photographer? So wonderful no one even knows you're together? When will you stop defending him?"

The answer to that last question was never.Not until his dying breath.

Koyama shook his head. "Let me guess.' The answer to that question is never right?" Hira simply looked at him.

"Do you like him that much?" There was that question again. Koyama had asked him that before. The answer hadn't changed. Yes. In fact, he liked Kiyoi more and more everyday.Even if the thought occurred to him "I like him too much. I like him too much." It was just commenting on a fact that couldn't be helped. He loved this person and would love only him for the rest of his life.

"Mmn." Was all he gave to Koyama in response.

"You need to think about it." his friend admonished.

"Think about what?"

"Whether you can do this for the rest of your life." He allowed Koyama to speak. "Kiyoi is a face in the light and he will only get more popular as time progresses. By the looks of it, he has no intention to reveal your relationship.Will he get mad everytime someone approaches you because they think you're single? Will your life always be by his terms? You'll forever remain the shadow of his light? And what about him? Won't people approach him because they think he's single? How will you feel about that?"

"Don't you want to hold your boyfriend's hand outside while you stroll or do any of those other things couples do? Times have changed.Two men being in love is not as strange as it was once." He patted Hira's shoulder "This thing between you and him...is it a real relationship or is it something you're using to pass the time?"

Hira looked at Koyama, resolute.

"I only want to be with Kiyoi." Hira replied. His response might not have matched with the questions Koyama asked but it was the answer he had.His truth. "I will stay with him as long as he wants me to be there." For Kiyoi he could be a shelter. For Kiyoi he could be a shadow. For Kiyoi he could be anything he needed him to be.

He said those words confidently but there was doubt in his heart. Ever since last night, since Kiyoi had said those words, he'd been filled with dread.

Not wanting to face him, he'd left for school unusually early. He didn't want to face the possible reality of Kiyoi repeating those words to him again.

Leave me alone.

Get lost.

So he decided to avoid him altogether.

Just a little longer. He wanted to stay in this dream just a little longer. He didn't want it to end yet. He didn't want to be thrusted back into the dark hole that was a life without Kiyoi. Not yet. Not yet.

"Suit yourself." Koyama sighed.

"Mmn." he nodded once.

Just a little more.

He wanted his dream to last just a little more.

Even if he was being too ambitious .... just a little more...

Even if he was playing against fate.... just a little more...

Even if he would be crushed to death in the end..just a little more...
