Yes, I did expect Kara to kill the Sleeper. I think, at some point or later, due to her nature, she would have.

She would realize the pain that the Sleeper was causing, with our without Sheela’s help, and she would kill him. That would be the morally correct thing to do, so she would do it.

Maybe in less painful ways, but she would have done it nonetheless.

I’m wondering if I should make it an audio-book alongside with a word-book. (I need to practice vocal fluctuation and emotion, so it’s not going to be good, but I find that audio-books are very relaxing to listen to.)

Idk but the ending of Aru Shah and the Nectar of Immortality felt kinda rushed. Roshani could've easily stretched it into another book about the Potatoes sharing the nectar with everyone, Kara reconciling with her mom, sister and the Potatoes, Aru and Krithika working it out with Suyodhana to try to be a family again, more Aru + Aiden, Mini + Rudy content instead of cramming everything

Kara stood next to Hanuman, who was occupying himself with a rock at his feet. A swirling portal of blue and gold awaited them just a few steps back. The Pandavas stood in a semicircle around the two, all of the sisters staring at Kara. Sadness, pity, and another emotion Kara couldn't place met her gaze. The same emotions from them all, but their expressions could not have been more different. Brynne's neutrality, which thinly masked regret. Mini's teary eyes and Nikita's avoidant gaze. Sheela stared at Kara blankly, mouth set in a firm line. And Aru... poor, regretful, grieving Aru. Silent tears slipped down her face, carving tracks in the grime that caked all of their faces. She didn't say a word. She didn't have to. One look into her eyes and Kara knew all that she didn't say, couldn't say.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Kara gathered enough courage to speak. "I'm sorry. Hopefully... hopefully we'll meet again, one day?" Brynne nodded, but she couldn't meet Kara's eyes. None of them could. Except Sheela, who was still staring holes into her soul.

"Kara," she finally said. "You made mistakes. But so did we. And you deserve justice as much as we do. We'll meet again. I don't know where, I don't know when, but we'll meet again."

Aru cleared her throat, her watery eyes lifting up from the ground. "We're still family, Kara. No matter what."

Kara's breathing faltered. She had done so well in controlling her emotions up until then, but those words opened the flood gates.

She had forced her sisters to fight a war they shouldn't have had to fight yet.

She had betrayed their trust and helped the Sleeper, despite knowing that the outcome could not be changed.

She had killed her and Aru's father.

She still had a family.

Kara wept.

Surrounded by the family she had grown to know and love, the family she had just gotten, she wept. Arms held her tight, held her steady. Hands carded through her hair, unstable but steady breathing guided her own. Voices whispered things they couldn't bear to scream, but it was more than enough for Kara.

The moment was over too soon. Hanuman cleared his throat awkwardly, kicking away the rock he was staring oh-so-intently at. "Girls, I'm afraid that your time is up." Hesitation, then resignation. The arms pulled away and the voices died down and Kara felt cold envelope her once again.

"If your punishment is deemed completed," Hanuman said kindly, "You'll eventually be led back to the Pandavas." Kara sniffled, wiping her nose on her sleeve, and nodded. Unlike the times before where stepping through the portal would have just meant a late evening, there was a cruel twinge of finality in this. She might not ever see any of them again. The thought seemed to settle in everyone else's minds as well and they looked at her one last time with such an intensity that she might have thought they were trying to glare daggers into her. But instead of heat in their gaze, there was only sadness. They stared at her as if trying to take in every messy, grimy detail of her, as if they never wanted to forget her. Kara didn't know if she should have been touched or saddened.

"Can I just–" Brynne suddenly whispered, "can I just hug you one last time?"

It took everything Kara had in her to not break down again. Instead, she just mutely nodded. One by one, Brynne going first, they all hugged her one last time. Some embraces were gently, well-wishing. Others were tight and begging, begging her to not go. Kara was the last to pull away.

"Well. I guess this is it, huh," Aru said. Kara nodded and somehow, she smiled.

"I'll see you all on the other side, whatever the other side may be." With those words, Kara flashed them a salute and stepped through the portal.

The other side awaited.

Another Hanahaki AU, But It's Not Anyone From the 3 Main OTPs

(The 3 OTPs being Hirynne, Aruden, and Mindy)

We've all heard of Aru with hanahaki. Hell, even I've made up an AU with her having it.

Now picture me this: Kara with hanahaki. And no other guy comes into the story to save her. She either completely forgets about Aiden or dies. Or she moves on.

It's an extension of the original plot. As in with the Sleeper after Aiden rejected her, she had hanahaki, but before it could start being lethal, she forgets everything. However, as she starts remembering again, her hanahaki comes back.

All the potatoes come back into the picture and she deals with her feelings for Aiden. Whenever Kara sees Aruden moments, her hanahaki starts to act up really violently until she lets Aiden go.

I refuse to add someone else into the story too. So she won't move on by finding someone else. I want her to move on by realizing she doesn't need romance to be okay. I want her not to forget Aiden or die, but to finally let him go.

Admit it, Aiden and Kara were amazing friends, it's just that Kara got delusioned into thinking it was love.

That's it. That's the plot. Kara realizing that life isn't like a book and yes she's a main character, but only of her own life. She doesn't need a romantic plot with a journey where everyone saves the day, but instead learning to go with the flow. The ups and downs.

In the end, it's just Kara finding her family again. Also I really want her to be good friends with Aiden. Her hanahaki gets removed. The end.

she just really wants to help people :)

she’s too squeamish to be a doctor, and she finds first responder work to be too much. she’s really good with kids, people in general.

i also hc her as really good at reading people anyway, so she wanted to go into a profession where she could help and guide people <3
