M/F BroTP: Ellie and Diego. I really liked how DoTD gave them some scenes and an important moment together with Diego protecting her during her birth with Peaches. Diego fairly glows around the herd's mammoths, especially Manny (like he does with no one else!) and I headcanon that Ellie did try to get Diego to talk about his problems - before he decides to head out in IA3 - before defaulting to Manny since Diego is guarded with her and won't be as open like he is with her mate.

F/F BroTP: Mothers and daughters can count as a friendship, right? In that case, I love Ellie and Peaches' dynamic. Ellie is a good mother, she lets Peaches be herself but she still corrects her if necessary. Peaches as well seems to have a good relationship with her mother and it's sweet to see, becos it's always nice to see comfortable mother/daughter bonds in fiction.

M/M BroTP: Manny and Diego, of course! :) <3 For so many years now they have been my longest-adored friendship. Part of the reasons why I LOVE Manny and Diego goes back to IA1 and how they save each other virtually back-to-back in the story, and more so, are willing to risk their lives to the point of being willing to die for each other, and that just creates deep bonds and a strong friendship; this is even supported by science! I also love how pivotal Manny is to Diego's redemption arc and how he helps him grow as a character in IA1, which goes back to the whole "self-sacrifice" thing he teaches Diego as IA1's story plays out. And this is another reason why the sequels were such a disappointment to me, I was so hoping to see IA1 callbacks or inverses of IA1's ending scene with the Battle at Half Peak with Manny protecting Diego - since a tiger alone has it rough! - and that never happened, nor was their beautiful friendship explored/fleshed out as it deserved, imo … Anyway, their friendship is my favourite in many many ways I could go on and on about it tbh...

crack BroTP: Uh, I guess I would say Buck and Diego (most of these are Diego or Manny-based lol I noticed. Diego has many "circles" within the herd's dynamics because he is the glue not Sid! ;)) but it's not even really cracky becos Buck and Diego have good chemistry. Buck & Diego is also a good dynamic becos I learnt recently from the IA3 BTS - Buck is Diego's foil. He foils Diego, since he's wild and carefree, whilst Diego's heart has always belonged to the herd, even though he tries to leave it and so they have a good push and pull to their dynamic/bond with each other.

dynamic I didn’t expect to like: Hmmm... I think I am go ahead and say... Diego & Peaches! Sure, for me, it's mostly headcanons, but I remember when I heard about IA3 I didn't expect Diego's connection and chemistry with the mammoths he lives with to be explored like it was, and the fact that he was present at Peaches' birth gave me so many feels, oh my gosh, and I just fell in love with an uncle/niece dynamic btwn Diego & Peaches and it's become my second most treasured Ice Age herd family bond becos I love the idea of them being close and Peaches admiring Diego and thinking of him as something of a "second father" :) whilst he adores her wholeheartedly. It disappoints me so much still that officially we didn't get many scenes btwn them in the movies/specials to flesh out that dynamic but Peaches' relationships with her adopted uncles were so shafted and I'm still not over that ngl. :((((

dynamic I didn’t like: In all honesty, Sid and Diego.... their dynamic doesn't have the same vibe and earnestness that Manny and Diego have and Diego imo kinda always looks annoyed or bored in scenes he shares with Sid, especially in the sequels. The fact that the Sid/Diego "ship" is so popular is another reason, tbh, why I don't like this dynamic - they're suited more as brothers than a romantic ship imo. 🤷‍♀️ Heck, their entire dynamic is "little bro annoys middle bro constantly" let's be honest! Also I am aware this opinion is sure to be unpopular. 🤷‍♀️

(I am using human names for the characters just so I don't have to put the little dot between the country names so they don't accidentally show up in the general country tag)

I am putting these under the cut because they (especially the first one) got long.

8. shielding the other one with their body (AmeLiet) Prepare for the angst, for this one X'D. (If it wasn't obvious, this takes place during the Outsourcing strips)

Alfred tilted his head, puzzled by the knock at the door. He wasn't expecting any guests--neither Nation nor human--so he assumed there was either an emergency, or one of his people got lost and ended up at his front door.

"You weren't expecting any guests, today."

Toris's voice snapped Alfred out of his thoughts. The shorter Nation was either very quiet on his feet, or Alfred was that lost in his head; he had no idea his friend approached him until he spoke.

"No," Alfred finally responded. "I'm not."

Another knock shattered the otherwise quiet of Alfred's home, this one sharper and more forceful than the last.

"Stand behind me." Something about this entire situation felt off, to Alfred.

With a nod, Toris complied, his eyes narrowed.

Exhaling through his mouth, Alfred opened the door.

"Jones residence," he began mechanically. "How may I--"

He cut himself off when he realized who was standing on his doorstep.

"Ivan."

"Alfred." With a smile that would have been pleasant save the fact it didn't meet his eyes, the giant Nation stepped forward, entering Alfred's home.

"To what do I owe the honor? I'm sure you're busy and cannot stay long." Alfred's voice was equally pleasant, though he was sure Ivan caught the warning that was meant for him.

"Oh, I was just in your neighborhood, doing a little of this and a little of that, and I thought I would stop by and speak with you. See how everything's going."

"Everything is going well, thank you for asking." Now get the hell out of my house.

"Mm, not from you. I want to hear it from his mouth."

Alfred whirled around, now facing Toris, whose face was turned towards the floor, hands stiff at his sides.

"Everything is fine," Toris said, meeting neither Alfred nor Ivan's eyes. "Now if you excuse me, I must get back to work. There is so much that needs to be done, today."

Before he could exit the room, clearly uncomfortable, Ivan's arm shot out, grabbing Toris's wrist to keep him in place.

"Get out." Alfred's voice lost all niceties it previously held. "You do not lay a hand on my friends in my home. Toris wants to leave; it is in your best interest to let him. You came here to see me, you said. Unless that was a lie."

Ivan let go of Toris, his murky purple eyes narrowing to slits.

"It was a lie, wasn't it?" Alfred was on a roll, now. "You're just here to bully Toris; you get some sick enjoyment out of it, I know you do. Have you ever once told the truth in your messed-up life? No wonder your nose is so big; you're like Pinocchio, I bet it grows with each lie you tell. You're a jo--"

Alfred cut himself off when he saw Ivan draw his fist back. Getting himself into a defensive position, he braced himself to block the punch, and was confused when he felt nothing.

Instead, he heard a choking gasp, and suddenly, he saw (and felt) Toris at his feet, his arms curled around his torso.

As the shorter boy slowly forced himself to his feet, Ivan merely blinked, tilting his head.

"Now why would you do that? That punch was meant for Alfred. I didn't hold back; you know how strong Alfred is. I felt it sink into your gut; I'm sure it was very painful. I doubt he wants you getting sick all over his floor."

Toris said nothing, though one of his hands gripped his stomach, while the other pressed against his mouth. His eyes didn't seem to be all there, Alfred noticed, and he was swaying on his feet.

Without thinking twice, Alfred pulled Toris close to him, supporting his (concerningly light) weight.

"Get. Out." This was snarled; Alfred was done. He wanted Ivan gone. "You barge into my house, uninvited, and then you torment my dear friend? Leave."

"I thought America was welcoming to people from all over the world?" Ivan smiled again, chilling Alfred.

"Litva," he turned to Toris again. "Fetch the two of us something strong. Despite his laws, I am sure dear Alfred keeps some--what's it called?--ah, 'moonshine' in the basement. Just to keep Arthur happy when he visits."

"No." Though he looked to be still in pain, Toris held his head high. "I won't."

Alfred smirked at Ivan, who for a moment, looked shocked.

"I am independent, Ivan," Toris continued. "I will not defer to you."

"For now. We'll see what happens in a few years." Ivan closed his eyes, his smile growing almost childlike. "You and the other two are in such an unfortunate location, geographically. Who knows what other Nations will come and gobble you three up! I'm hoping it's me, but if it's someone else, that only makes your inevitable return to me even more fun! The hunt is no good when there's no chase, after all..."

With a light chuckle, Ivan ruffled Toris's hair.

Alfred felt the brunet wince, and he held him closer, rubbing his arm comfortingly.

"Ivan," he said once more, a warning bite in his voice.

"Ah, I'm going. I can see that I am not wanted. Farewell, Alfred. Toris."

The large man waved, stepping outside. But before he left completely, he stuck his head back inside.

"Just one more thing, Alfred. I see the way you hold him, and how he looks at you. Just remember that wherever you touch him, wherever your hands go, mine were there, first."

With a shout, Alfred lunged forward, pushing Ivan completely out of his house before slamming the door and locking it. When he looked down at his hands, he saw that they were shaking.

(Oops, that got way too long, sorry about that, X'D)

(The others will be much shorter than that first one)

12. pushing a strand of hair behind their ear (LietPol)

"Your hair is beautiful, Feliks." Toris pushed a strand of hair behind the shorter boy's ear.

Feliks blushed, Toris's gentle voice making the compliment even sweeter. "Stop, it looks the way it always does!"

"Yeah, well mine looks like a bird's nest no matter how many times I brush it."

"Well, I happen to like it. Your wavy hair is perfect for when I do this..."

With a smirk, Feliks wove a hand into Toris's thick hair as he straddled the brunet, keeping him in place as he kissed him.

When the two pulled apart, needing air, the deep blush on Toris's pale face made Feliks laugh, falling onto the bed beside his partner.

"Oh man, Liet, you look like a tomato!" Feliks guffawed, almost rolling from laughing so hard. "Better watch out; if Romano takes a look at you, he might get, like, sweet on you. Ooh, or Antonio! Can you imagine? He'd call you his little 'Bueno Tomato' or something!"

This only caused Toris to blush harder, which in turn made Feliks laugh louder.

"What do you say, Bueno Tomato? Do you want me to make your whole body blush? I can start with-- OOF!"

Feliks was cut off as a pillow smacked right into his face.

22. falling asleep on the other’s shoulder (IceLat)

Raivis was exhausted. He hadn't been sleeping well for the past few weeks (unfortunately, anxiety tended to do that to him), and he was finally reaching his limit. Even more unfortunately, it was in the middle of a world meeting. And to add one more 'unfortunately' to make it a triple threat, Mathias didn't even put his seat next to Toris or Eduard, like the arrangement usually was. Instead, Toris was sandwiched between Alfred and Feliks, while Eduard had Lili to his left, and the Dane himself to his right. Raivis had Eiríkur to his left, and Michelle to his right.

Too exhausted to even attempt to think of why the seating arrangement was the way it was, Raivis found his eyes closing, Roderich's soft voice as he gave his speech lulling him into a nap.

Suddenly, his eyes snapped open as he felt something soft against the side of his face.

"Whassat?" he slurred, sleep making his tongue not work properly. The feeling wasn't unpleasant; in fact, the warmth was making him want to fall back to sleep.

"Raivis. Are you okay?"

With a quiet yelp, Raivis realized what--more like who--he was resting against.

"Eiríkur! I am so sorry!" Blushing, Raivis pushed himself away from the Icelander, thoroughly embarrassed.

As other Nations started to look at them, Raivis blushed harder and looked down, pretending to go over his notes.

"It's okay," Eiríkur said, gently rubbing the shorter boy's shoulder. "You looked so tired, I didn't want to wake you."

"How long was I snoring against your shoulder?" Raivis muttered, his face still on fire.

"You were only out for like...ten minutes." Eiríkur leaned in closer, trying to stay quiet. "And for the record, you don't snore. You uh...looked kinda cute, actually."

"Ah... Thanks?" Latvia cursed his voice for going up an octave. But damn it, he'd been crushing on the silver-haired boy for years, and he said he looked cute? It felt surreal.

The rest of the meeting passed by in a blur, with Raivis and Eiríkur exchanging small nudges and quiet jokes about the various speakers. By the time it ended, Raivis was disappointed.

"Hey, umm, did you want to grab a bite to eat or something?" Eiríkur rubbed the back of his head, his pale face blushing just as pink as Raivis's own. "This was way more fun than other world meetings, and I didn't even get to show you my impression of Mathias, yet!"

"So, like a date?" Raivis almost slapped himself for blurting it out so quickly.

"Yeah." Eiríkur looked around, making sure none of the other Nordics heard it. "It's a date."

28. feeling for each other in the dark (DenEst)

"Great," Eduard muttered. "Just great."

Right as he was in the middle of an important spreadsheet his government wanted him to work on, the power cut out due to an impressively loud thunderstorm. Since his laptop was charging, almost dead from previous use, it went dark, as well. And since he was at Mathias's house for a quick vacation, rather than his own, he had no spares to use.

Fumbling around in the dark, he left the guest bedroom and carefully made his way downstairs.

He assumed he made it to the living room when he felt the couch brush up against his hip.

Suddenly, a loud CRASH, followed by a scream, shattered the silence of the darkened house, in between thunderclaps. And even more suddenly, Eduard found himself on the couch, a heavy weight pressed on top of him.

"Oh man, Ed! I am so sorry!"

Soon the pressure was off his chest, and Eduard was able to sit up.

A pair of callused hands felt around Eduard's chest and neck before cupping his face. "There you are!"

Amused, Eduard realized what happened. "Mathias, did you fall down the stairs and flop onto the couch, though you slammed into me first?"

"...Maybe?"

With a chuckle, Eduard leaned forward, resting his head against Mathias's chest, wrapping his arms around him. He was now perfectly content waiting out the storm.

50. putting a hand over the other’s mouth to shut them up (LatLiech) (You didn't ask for this one, but I had a cute idea for it, X'D)

"Raivis? What are you doing down there?" Lili was minding her own business, trying to grab an extra notebook from the conference center's supply closet, until she tripped over a pair of dress shoes, attached to the legs of a very familiar Nation.

"Hiding." Raivis blinked his large eyes, and Lili was mesmerized by the long, soft eyelashes that covered them.

"Why are you hiding?"

Raivis blushed, his ears turning pink before his face did. "I...spilled my water glass all over Ivan. He looked mad, so I ran and hid. And ended up here."

Lili was concerned. "He wouldn't hurt you now, would he?"

"Who knows." Raivis gripped the bottom of his shirt so tightly his hands went white. "Depends on if it's a good day or a bad day. If it's a good day, he'd just press on my head and make some weird comment. But if it's a bad day? Even now...he..."

Lili sat down next to Raivis, gently grabbing one of his hands. She didn't like seeing him this way; it reminded her too much of meetings long since past, where the boy's eyes were dull, and bruises marred his face and neck.

Raivis stiffened at her touch, though he soon melted into it. He removed her hand from his own, though he leaned forward and hugged her, burying his face into her chest, the fabric of her dress soft against his face.

Lili said nothing about where his head was; she saw that this was how he hugged Toris and Eduard, and recognized that he wasn't trying to intentionally feel her chest. Instead, she hugged him back.

After a few moments, the door creaked open. Raivis's eyes went wide, though Lili pressed a hand over his mouth before he could make a sound.

But instead of the large build of Ivan, it was only Francis. He took one look at the two Nations and smiled, winking at them before making a kissy face. He gave them both a thumbs-up, mouthing 'way to go, Raivis!' at the shorter boy.

"Your secret is safe with me." With a final wink, Francis shut the door.

Lili finally removed her hand from Raivis's mouth. She was sure her face was just as red as his.

Bruce, have you ever considered trying to befriend a marine mammal like a baleen whale or a seal? Or do you think it'd be too awkward since you do eat their kind after they're dead?

“I have tried to befriend seals” —aside from elephant seals that prey on great whites— “but they swim much too quickly ‘way before I can get a word in. Unlike some fish, seals have to always be vigilant against great whites, so it might be a tad different if Anchor or Chum approached ‘em. Not that I blame the seals— they do have a good reason to try and avoid my kind.”

“As for baleen whales, there’s a bit of a language barrier. But Dory has been givin’ me a few lessons! Reckon it couldn’t hurt to try it out sometime when a whale passes through.”

I feel like Gil and Toris have a lot of talking to do before they're ready to become friends, much less date. There's clearly a lot of resentment between them.

I'm not sure if I necessarily ship it (in the sense that I wouldn't go out of my way to look for it), but I'd be open to it if it was written in a way I'd find interesting/appealing. (And I mean...I love angst, soo...)

I just tend to ship Toris with others before I think of him with Gilbert.

(The irony here is that, while they won't become a ship in it, in the sequel to TWL, they'll be forced to work together, and they begrudgingly realize that the other isn't all bad, XDD)

They honestly have a lot in common (and I actually wrote a post about that all the way back in 2016); back when I got into the ship aaaages ago, I was confused that there wasn't more content with them!

Recently, though, there's been a surge in art and writing for this ship, which makes me so happy!

WHOOO BOY. Okay. The concept of them as a ship is interesting. (Especially since Alfred IS on Ivan's level, power-dynamic wise.) If Ivan himself had a different personality, I would probably ship this and find it funny at times. However, I don't see Alfred ever getting with someone who treated one of his friends (Toris) like trash.

Though, if that little (well, it's big to me, but you know what I mean) detail aside, the dynamic is interesting.

I feel like Ivan would bring out the worst in Alfred. Which, if handled well, might be something interesting to explore.

I also have read some funny humor-genre fics with them in the past, and I enjoyed them (honestly, I see them being so petty trying to one-up each other XD), so I'll give the ship that. But it's definitely not something I go out of my way to look for.

(Honestly, I don't really ship Ivan with many people, tbh. Mostly Francis and Yao.)

Whether their relationship is platonic or skews romantic, I don't mind; I just like seeing them as very close! (Bonus points if Ed is aloof at first, but then ends up getting super protective over Raivis as time goes on, to the point where he'll stand up to Ivan for him. [And oooh, even more bonus points if Raivis pushes aside his fear and returns the favor later, sticking up for Eduard!])

I tend to find more stuff where they're platonic, but romance-leaning stuff is cute, too!

If they do become a romantic couple, I see their relationship being super soft, gentle, and slow-moving. (Though with some cheesy romantic stuff like poetry and flowers courtesy of Raivis, XD)

Everyone who's been following me for awhile knows this, but SuFin is one of my favorite ships in general. I love everything about it!

(And I know a lot of people, including me, focus on the more fluffier aspects of the ship, BUT there is so much potential for angst, too!)

While I definitely prefer romantic SuFin, I have read some interesting fics where their relationship is more...amiable exes, where the two are in relationships with other characters.

These got sort of long (this always happens with these prompts, X'D), so I put them under the cut.

"I don’t want to pry..."

Basch only meant to leave the conference center's cafeteria to find the drinking fountain. (There was no way in hell he'd pay for an overpriced water bottle, and he cursed Alfred for choosing a hotel that didn't even provide complimentary lunch.) But after he turned down one of the hallways, he saw what looked to be a person curled up against one of the stairwells.

Curious, Basch tilted his head and walked closer, and soon he recognized who it was.

"Raivis?"

The boy's head snapped up, his eyes widening.

Though his brain told him not to, Basch sat down next to the short Nation. He didn't know Raivis very well, but Lili was friends with him, and had only positive things to say about him, so for that alone, he got involved. "Why are you sitting over here? Didn't you want lunch?"

"I...I didn't want to pay for it."

At this, Basch chuckled a little bit, nodding his head in agreement. Though the smile slipped off his face as Raivis continued.

"Plus, it's not like I could eat, anyway. There's too much going on, today. I got too stressed, and my stomach hurts, and--"

Basch cut him off, gently placing a hand on his shoulder. He didn't miss the way Raivis flinched a little at his touch, though he said nothing; he would ask Lili about it later. "I don’t want to pry, but.. I want you to know I also want to listen, if you want someone to talk to."

Bach almost kicked himself; he didn't do this, he didn't talk about feelings. But he knew Raivis went through terrible things. Things so awful he saw other, more powerful Nations averting their eyes when he walked by them at meetings, clearly guilty that they couldn't, or just didn't want to, do anything to stop it from happening. Basch didn't know any details, but he knew enough. And he wasn't stupid; he easily put two and two together.

He was snapped out of his thoughts when Raivis lunged forward and embraced him, tightly wrapping his thin around around him.

"You're right, I don't understand yet" (This one is set post-TWL)

"Did Toris send you over here?"

Eduard looked less than pleased to see Feliks standing at his doorstep, holding a tin of kołaczki.

"No; I figured I'd pay you a visit, that's all." Without waiting for a response, Feliks entered Eduard's house, kicking his shoes off as soon as he got inside, revealing pink and green checkered socks. He plopped down on the couch, placing the tin of sweets on the coffee table in front of him before yanking the lid off, popping one of the peach preserves-filled ones into his mouth.

"I outdid myself this time!" Feliks exclaimed, speaking with his mouth full. "These are totally delicious!"

"Seriously, Feliks?" Now Eduard actually looked irritated. "You barge into my house, make yourself at home on my couch, and then get powdered sugar everywhere? I ask again, why are you here?"

After finishing the cookie, Feliks wiped his mouth. "I'm here because you need help, Eduard. You won't talk to Toris, and I doubt you talked to Raivis. Which is understandable; he's dealing with a shit-ton, too. But damn it, Ed, you were kidnapped by a group of batshit scientists and experimented on again and again! Toris told me about the scar on your chest and torso; you were fucking vivisected? I know that would've messed me up. And I'd want to shout that to the world."

"You don't understand!" Eduard finally shouted, though he sat on the couch next to Feliks, bowing his head.

"You’re right, I don’t understand, yet. Will you help me?"

The look Eduard gave Feliks broke the shorter Nation's heart; it was so hollow, with barely any light left in his eyes.

"Give me some time," Eduard finally said. "I'm not an open book like you are. But thank you for asking. Maybe...maybe someday I'll tell you more." As he spoke, some brightness returned to his eyes, though tears pricked the corners of them.

Feliks nodded. He didn't expect Eduard to spill his guts right here and now. But the 'maybe' was more than he hoped for.

Smiling, Feliks reached into the tin and grabbed one of the strawberry jam-filled cookies, pressing it to Eduard's mouth.

Snorting a little, Eduard grabbed the sweet, swatting Feliks' hand away.

(Kołaczki are delicious, by the way, XD)

"Count your breaths"

Eiríkur was at his limit. This particular conference wasn't just fellow Nations; humans were also involved, too. It didn't happen very often, only two to three times a year, but he didn't like it. While he recognized that not all humans were bad, and he definitely had a soft spot for his citizens, being surrounded by a bunch of them stressed him out. He felt like he was being scrutinized and studied under a microscope, especially since his silver hair was strange, even by Nation standards, and the more he caught the humans' eyes, the more uncomfortable he became.

He was snapped back to reality when he felt a hand on his shoulder. Whirling around, he saw that it was only Eduard.

"Count your breaths with me, okay?" The bespectacled boy's voice was soft; Eiríkur had to strain his ears to hear it.

"What?" Eiríkur narrowed his eyes.

"You look like you're about to have an anxiety attack," Eduard pointed out. "This works for Raivis, so I figured you could try it, too." He squeezed Eiríkur's shoulder gently. "Ready? One, two, three, four…"

In time with Eduard's voice, Eiríkur counted his breaths, first only in his mind, but by 'four', he began saying them aloud. And much to his surprise, he found himself relaxing, losing some of the tenseness in his shoulders.

"It worked!"

"I figured it might."

Eduard rubbed Eiríkur's shoulder before he let go, and the silver-haired boy found himself disappointed, oddly missing his touch.

"Can you sit with me for the next set of speeches?" Eiríkur blurted out, his mouth working faster than his brain. He blushed as he said the next part. "Your presence helps, for some reason."

Eiríkur figured Eduard was caught off-guard, too; he never saw the taller boy blush before, yet there was now a dusting of pink across his nose and cheeks.

"Certainly," Eduard finally said, sounding almost tongue-tied. "But isn't Mathias sitting here? He'll want me to move when he gets back"

"He can find a new seat," Eiríkur said, wrinkling his nose. "Just point him to your old one."

At this, Eduard sat down, and the two laughed, now ready to deal with the second half of the meeting. Together.

Character opinion bingo: Denmark, Norway, Austria, Sealand, France, Itachi, and bc you've been into Total Drama recently: Beth, Gwen, Heather, Ezekiel. (I know that's a lot of characters so feel free to pick and choose which ones you want to do! I also wanted to give you a bit more variety than just the usual ones (i.e. Baltics.))

OOOH, thank you so much for these! I had so much fun filling them all out!

I am going to put them under a cut because there are a lot of characters, and these got long, XD

Den:

I wish there were more options on this that express how much I like him, XD. He's one of my favorite HWS characters! (And I think he has one of the most aesthetically attractive designs, too, X'D)

Nor:

Like Den, I really like Nor, too! (And I think I draw him the most out of the N.ordics, haha) Like Den, I wish there were more options on this bingo card that express how much I like him, XD

Roderich:

I feel like Roderich is an underrated character in the fandom. I know he has his vocal fans, but at the same time, aside from that subsection of the fandom, I haven't seen many people discussing him? Note: the 'They got done dirty by the fans' comment is moreso regarding my experiences in the earlier days of the fandom, where a common interpretation by a vocal portion of the fandom was that Roderich was abusive, and that Elizabeta deserved better. (I see that less now, which I like)

Peter:

I know a lot of people find Peter annoying, but I actually like him a lot? He's an interesting character, and I'm glad we got some newer chapters with him and the other micronations.

(And now for the TD characters. This was so much fun to ramble about; I haven't discussed these dorks in years! It was really fun revisiting the series, since I wanted a refresher and plot points and stuff)

Beth:

The more I fill these out, the more I realize that they don't have many options for how I see these characters (which is a shame, since I like them, X'D).

I find Beth to be a relatable character in some ways, especially in TDI. I consider her and Lindsay to be one of the 'dynamic duos' of the series, and I love their friendship.

However, that being said, after Island, I find Beth a flawed character. (Like the whole thing with Brady in TDA. I know it was meant to be played for laughs, but it came off as a little ':/' when she'd be constantly fawning over other boys like Justin and then Harold later on.) There were also some remarks she made towards Lindsay that made me go 'wow, that was mean'.

BUT, despite this, I still enjoy her as a character, and I enjoyed seeing her character grow more confident! (Also, like Lindsay--though Lindsay's moment is probably the most iconic--I cheered when she told Heather off and finally broke off the alliance with her in Island.)

Gwen:

Whoo boy. Gwen was one of my favorite characters in TDI, so I was so disappointed by her character derailment in later seasons. [Note: I've only seen TDI, TDA, and TDWT. I looked up what happened in the seasons after that, but I haven't actually watched any episodes from them. I intend to do so eventually, though.]

But back to Gwen. I liked her friendship/eventual relationship with Trent in TDI, so I was disappointed with how everything deteriorated in TDA.

And while I liked her friendship with Duncan, I was disappointed that they became a couple (especially after Gwen and Courtney finally became friends). Though, I do like the fact that it's shown that she and Trent are friends (or at least friendly with each other) again.

Heather:

Heather is one of my favorite antagonists in the TD franchise! I did enjoy the character development she got as the seasons went on, though.

Ezekiel:

THIS POOR GUY, OMG lkajhfkjshdf

Like I feel awful for him, and especially what happens to him in TDWT. (Honestly, he, Dakota from TDROTI [even though I haven't actually watched that series yet, just looked up stuff about it], and their families should sue Chris and the network for what happened to them both. Because YIKES. I also haven't watched the Ridonculous Race spinoff, but I read that there's a missing person poster of him in the background, so I guess that means his parents don't even know what happened to him after all this time? 0__0)

Zeke's actually a favorite character of mine, and he definitely deserved better. (Like, the sexist comments he made clearly came from his upbringing, rather than any actual maliciousness; he even prefaces it with 'My dad said...', and by the time TDDDDI rolls around, he seems to have lost that mindset.)

On a more positive note, I loved his interactions/friendship with Beth and Lindsay in TDDDDI, and I was so disappointed that he didn't make it to Action with them.

(I can rant about his character for a long time, so I'm going to stop before I write more paragraphs, XD)

AND OOPS I just realized I forgot Francis, so here he is!

Francis:

I like him, but he's not really a character I focus on, a lot? (Like I don't have much meta or analysis for him, unfortunately.)

(Also, 'overrated' doesn't mean 'bad'. I actually like Francis. I just find him a bit overrated compared to my favorite characters.)
