thinking about wayne and eddie going on an annual fishing trip (like thee Munson Men Annual Fishing Trip™️) just like a little weekend away. and the first one is coming up after eddie and steve starts dating. over breakfast eddie jokingly complains about having to go and tries to get out of it. but wayne is used to his dramatics so he just gives hmms when appropriate because eddie’s whole spiel never got him out of it before and he tells eddie that.

steve watches the whole exchange with amusement when wayne asks if he’s looking forward to it. and he’s like ??? because he assumed it was just a wayne and eddie thing. and wayne is like i just told eddie all munsons must go can’t get out of it kid.

steve gets flustered and is internally is like oh??? all munsons,,,

or like after the trip a neighbor asks wayne if they caught anything and he pulls out his wallet to show a picture they took on the trip. wayne passes it with ‘here’s a picture of my boys’ and to steve’s surprise it’s a picture of both him and eddie with their biggest catch.

and just idk wayne casually accepting steve into their family and throwing steve off guard with it.

Tbh the fact that Kim likes your karaoke no matter whether you pass or fail the check is touching in a way but also it’s so fucking funny how offended he gets on your behalf if u fail and no one claps for u. “These people wouldn’t know a good performance if it bit them in the ass.” “He really sang his heart out.” He’s like you fucking NORMIES just don’t get it. Even funnier that it’s not even really about you, bc if he genuinely didn’t like it it he’d probably be about as tactful about it as he is about shaving the mutton chops. It’s the principle of the thing. And then u add yet another layer of humor when u know Kim’s personal music tastes. Kim’s not a particularly artsy guy and his conceptualization skills are (at least in Harry’s opinion) “rudimentary,” but he’s also super mega ultra repressed and his release valve seems to be music. Specifically the loudest and nastiest most vulgar music possible. He loves ur performance bc u basically go onstage and have a breakdown set to music for two or three minutes and he’s like so fucking true bestie. Now THAT’S what a good performance should be. An honest display of torment for me the audience to live vicariously through. what gets me re: kevin with jean is that kevin is seriously the worst. like we see in-text specifically that kevin used to lean into jean’s space to whisper to him and it seems it was common enough to him that he didn’t think much of it (he did it once for asking jean to teach him french then again to make jean promise not to off himself), he said horrible things like ‘it could be our secret’ and ‘i don’t want to lose you’, he wrote jean memories and notes in postcards, he bought jean silly little magnets, even up to the point of tsc canon he was cradling jean’s face and gently touching his hand. so flirty! no wonder jean was down so horribly. no wonder nora sakavic said kevin was always the problem child
