gojo doesn’t commit himself to a relationship, right…but what if he sought it out at first?
he dated with the hope that maybe he might fall in love, that he might get to experience something real, only for each of his exes to disappoint him in the end.
they loved him for his beauty; showed him off like a rare gem on display, only to put him back in the safe when other eyes weren’t watching.
they loved his wealth, and maybe that’s his own fault. he’s too generous when spoiling someone he cares about. he just didn’t expect his partners to reach for his wallet instead of his hand.
they loved him for his name, for his status, for the security of their future - and he couldn’t help but wonder if his heart held any value at all.
so maybe he comes to you a little stand off-ish and guarded. treats your courtship like a game, and is hot and cold. that’s all he’s ever known, all he’s ever experienced…
but the minute he learns that he’s safe with you. that you chose his heart over everything else. he’ll bask you in a love worth writing sonnets about. he holds so much of it, it pours out of him uncontrollably - he was just waiting for the right person to hold out a cup and receive it 🥺

Guess what I've been doing for the last three hours?..3..2..1…And the correct answer!: I sat at the computer with Google translator under my ass and tried to read everything I could and couldn't about this person's AU @dictatortirah ..( I WORSHIP YOU OH LORD, GOD)..Ahem!.. The message is one: I’m going to publish “This piece of something” on VK, and try to tell the Russian audience about this wonderful AU. I hope you (dictatortirah) won’t mind hehe.. (I give you every right to beat me up if anything happens :3)

Rewatching Pilot and realizing how red Karen Swenson's hair is and something something Karen-Billy-Theresa/Scully-Mulder-Samantha parallels. It's not a fully formed thought. But there's something.

you know, what struck me most about mitya's personality was how child-like he was despite being the oldest of the brothers. and, after finishing the book, i can't stop thinking about how that fits perfectly with the narrative and his role in the story. there's this guilelessness to mitya, this innocence that very easily turns into naivety. we watch how honest and open he is throughout the novel about the way he feels, no matter if he's extremely emotional and distressed or not, no matter if his fate is on the line or not; he never hid his emotions even if doing so would have been in his best interest. he's impulsive and feels things so intensely, almost lacking in the ability to control and regulate himself, just like a child does. his role in the story and his doom functioning as a sacrifice for the truth paired to ilyusha's death as a sacrifice for innocence just fit so perfectly with the exploration of innocence and guilt as a theme, leading to the analysis on what humans value more, truth or justice. and i just think this discussion hits so much harder with mitya being the representation of truth not only plot-wise but also being the personification of it. i really really enjoyed his characterisation.

I am absolutely obsessed with the conversation between Marguerite and Chauvelin in Chapter VIII.
Just ... Just ...
Her delight in seeing him Though it is as much because of the past he represents as for himself, they are still friends! Friends! They have a past together, he was in her social circle, which means he was part of the intellectual and artistic set of Paris, and he "knew Armand well"! What the hell? Where does this connection between them disappear to? Why isn't it used more?
His anger towards her While she is delighted, he is sarcastic with her from the first, and I think it's because he is feeling personally betrayed. She was once part of the republican cause, but "betrayed" it by marrying into the aristocracy that Chauvelin hates. This seems to be their first meeting since her marriage, and he is so smug that it's gone poorly for her. He, so intensely devoted to the cause, probably would take it personally that she, Paris' brilliant leading lady, chose to betray her principles, but of course, she was always a moderate: pro-equality but not anti-aristocracy, and so she does not see herself as a traitor and doesn't realise what his moodiness means.
The way she teases him! Asking what "or whom" he's doing in England?? Calling him "my little Chauvelin"? Saying she's gotta be pretty miserable or she wouldn't be so happy to see him? She's so confident and even condescending! Their power dynamic starts out entirely in her favour and is reversed over the course of the book, and that's so interesting, I wanted a more deliberate exploration of that!
Chauvelin being kinda noble actually? The fact that when he entreats her to aid France, his expression is described as one of "singular earnestness". No sarcasm, no hate, just devotion. He even becomes "impressive and full of dignity" as he describes his mission in England.
“For the sake of France, citoyenne!” reiterated Chauvelin, earnestly.
He doesn't come to her intending to blackmail her, he doesn't come up with that until he finds out her brother is in league with the Scarlet Pimpernel, which he would also probably take quite personally, because he, again, "knew Armand well".
I wanted more of this!

im sorry but for some reason this is so funny to me. i sent tamar to bed for the night and Gore was waaay on the other side of the room just chillin', but then when she woke up he was suddenly right there sitting at the foot of her bed, just staring into the flames of the fireplace looking like he was contemplating the meaning of life
Tumblr media
Tamar: Gore?? What - is something wrong? Gore: If you eat wolf meat, does that make you a cannibal? Tamar: ... Tamar: If you eat a raven, does that make you a cannibal? Gore: ... Tamar: ... Tamar: How much did you drink last night?

that embarrassing sex moments ask is so funny, it makes me imagine meowy jumping on the bed and licking its paw or something, and then aki just stops and stares at it because he’s so weirded out
meowy is a huge menace about it, he's always interrupting you and aki's private time. if aki forgets to close the door, meowy will barge in and just sit and stare at the two of you like he's judging. and even when aki closes the door to your bedroom, you'll be going at it, when suddenly meowy starts scratching at the door and meowing like it's the end of the world, until someone finally caves and lets him in.

Headcanon that I've been playing around with in my head but Leon refuses to play any strategic game outside those he fully trusts because he loves being underestimated and also, it makes it easier to manipulate people for fun (there's a 50% chance it will go very wrong but he's getting Better the more he does it to strangers!).
If he either proposes or accepts a game of chess or checkers or go from anyone, it means that they have his trust.
There can be exceptions, like, say, playing a game for information but chances are he will play the 'beginners luck' excuse as far as he can.

you know i mentioned last night that i realized only *after* i started rereading david copperfield that since i recently became an aunt, i was gonna see the story from a whole new angle and start relating more to betsey trotwood. i didn't even think about how at salem house i was gonna be poor mr. mell...
#i mean i didnt really think about mr. mell much because he's more of a minor character#he doesnt come back throughout david's life like steerforth or traddles or emily or agnes or#or or or all these other dozen major characters#in fact i only think of salem house as a minor part of the book. the shit we gotta get through to get to aunt betsey again#in a sense i cant wait to be done with it again#but oh my god reading about the rowdy schoolroom and how he's hardly managing to handle his stress#MEEEEE!!!!!! ME AN EDUCATOR#diana rereads david copperfield#literally just let me fucking play my flute badly in peace#you know i really have grown up a lot in the past 5 years bc all the adults used to just be caricatures to me#in the sense that all of dickens' characters are kind of caricatures. theyre exaggerated and silly#whether theyre supposed to be archetypal good or bad people.#because the way dickens uses hyperbole. sometimes it's just too true!#like the assholery of steerforth. how disingenuous but charming and persuasive he can be#that is SO true to how it feels to look up to older people as a young child. david copperfield's yielding to him is so realistic#david copperfield's own childish innocence throughout the early chapters seems comical but is emotionally true to how childhood feels.#these were the parts of the novel that resonated with me very deeply at 19. and they still do#but oh now. now i understand the position of the working adults. especially since i work w kids now how different it all feels.#and have worked w kids for several years too. but only about a year after reading dc. actually almost 2 years#im one of the bumbling incompetent adults. oh dear. oh lord.

There were a handful of times before that fateful night, when things got particularly bad, when her stomach was eating itself, when her thoughts turned dark and bleak, when she had been rejected once again for the umpteenth time, when blood was seeping from the fresh wound under her eye and she staunched it with the last of her kerchief, that Grizabella had the fleeting thoughts of returning. Of throwing herself at her family's mercy and begging them to take her back. That she couldn't do it on her own anymore; that the world was cruel and unforgiving and it was so much harder than she’d thought; that she *did* need them after all and she didn't mean what she'd said all that time ago. That she...that she missed them, even as she had boasted that she never would.
She remembers Sunday dinners and the warm light of dens and laughter echoing far into the night and the annual Ball; she remembers night watch and their social circles; she remembers little queens whose names she had long forgotten hanging on her every word, eyes wide with adoration that she had shrugged away, and showing off her dancing, her voice, the toss of her hair, to swathes of admirers that had showered her in praises; she remembers Gus, who'd already begun to grey at the temples, telling his tales to an enraptured new group, and asking for the hundredth time if she wouldn’t like a spot at his old theatre. She remembers Deuteronomy smiling serenely at her while she curtsied and sat with her face pressed to his side; how kind he'd always been to her. Wonders if he would still be as kind to her now.
Thinks they all must be older now...that she is older now.
But as had been said of her before, Grizabella's pride has always been her greatest downfall. She couldn't shake it; she could never admit defeat even when it stared her directly in the face. She had left with her nose so far in the air that returning with it dragging on the pavement sent such a shudder of despair through her it solidified her will tenfold. Not to mind the clear outline of her ribs or the cough that had near ruined her voice - not to mind what had become of her in the dark pockets of alleyways, her dress torn over her shoulder and the last of her youthful beauty running down the slant of her face, leaving her with...nothing; nothing at all.
She couldn't go back - she wouldn't.
But still, it was nice to think about. Once in a while.

fuuta is so interesting tbh
#⋯ ꒰ა starry thoughts ໒꒱ *·˚#⋯ ꒰ა milgram ໒꒱ *·˚#i voted innocent already but i'll see the drama audio as soon as there's a translation that i can watch/listen to after i do homework asap#i can really understand fuuta. he reminds me of me if i go too far#and so i think that in all honesty yeah guilty -> innocent -> innocent#unless he still might benefit most from a guilty vote this time around#he's really interesting bcs he's actually really similar to us. the viewers#'hoisting up morality and feeling good' he's calling the milgram project out and US. but he's now also being a hypocrite#which is interesting. he said in 'bring it on' smth smth about evil hypocrites are shit! he's like them now ngl#and so guilty vote i think was best. for the first. but ultimately he deserves innocent i believe#the 2nd trial i am unsure about bcs it will of course affect the last trial. and also the rest of the prisoners one way or another#and there is real danger of someone dying... but also idk they might have said that to scare us but this is deco*27. i believe that#the site is so slow oh my god bless i was able to vote almost immediately LMAO#i think fuuta obviously shows regret. also i don't think he was the one who started the flame but the one who added more fire to the flame#and he's. like. 'follows the flow' and 'coward' but 'good at heart'. and ultimately he should be forgiven i believe but yeah yeah?#he's at fault but not the most at fault but he deflects all taking of responsibility and i think that's wrong#i REALLY understand him with that. i was the same. and that's why now i'm still not fully honest with saying my true thoughts#because it's really just hard but ultimately you NEED to. and idk whether an innocent or guilty vote would be best ngl#hmmm tbh nothing is truly certain yet though. lots of theories still but for me thats the gist ^^ ?#he needs to be open about his feelings and thoughts. man up. take responsibility even if it likely is true he isn't the most at fault#because he still is. but at the same time the whole 'spectators' and 'pressure' makes me think it may be some sort of#yk. following the flow. peer pressure thing. and he was the one that was either the loudest in the end or the one who lagged behind#i think he was looking for some sort of validation of sorts maybe. seeking the applause. because he's 'last in line' ???#'blame-shifting'. i think he's a victim but he's still at fault one way or another but i think he isn't the main/first perpetrator fr#'one mistake and now i'm out of chances' he's defending himself and making excuses but also he's also right#maybe i'm projecting because i really relate to him (not to the extent of causing someone's death ofc but kid me was stupid)#'not my fault not even slightly' now THAT'S wrong. but it's more that he's in denial rather than now knowing that he's wrong#last tag! but yea tldr he's regretful but he still needs to get more out of denial. from experience innocent might actually help w that ngl#fuuta kajiyama

sometimes i randomly remember that instead of 'cute, innocent, funny guy' jun's fandom-assigned archetype used to be 'narcissistic fuckboy' back until like 2018ish 🧍‍♀️
#do baby carats know about this? lol those were dark times#like there were definitely some things that were better and simpler about the fandom back then but also a lot of shitty things too lol#idk what's wild to me about it is like. u see this kind of change in perception a lot bc rookie idols get assigned these roles#that don't fully suit them. but when they're a few years in they're allowed to grow out of that and show more of their actual personality#like mh is a good example of this bc he's said he was marketed as the 'little cutie' and u can see that if u go back and watch old content#but honestly i don't think this perception of jun was really pushed by plds?#like i guess they might have labeled him as a handsome/cool member so that's probably where it came from#but i feel like it was carats that took it to a whole different level that was frankly kind of gross#like when i FIRST watched svt content i got the impression that jun was kind of a greasy guy based on the way fans talked about him#but what's wild is if u go back and watch old svt content it doesn't feel like jun himself acts that differently compared to now?#like he was still very cute and innocent back then. and even now he'll still hype up his own looks#i feel like the main thing that's changed is he's learned some tact for when and where to say things + he's gained confidence#which is wild considering at the time ppl saw jun as confident almost to the point of excess#and then u watch cyzj and the whole thing is about him building confidence!! esp for performing by himself!!!#i think that's why that show was such a big turning point in how carats (including myself) saw him#SORRY this was meant to be a funny post about wow how were ppl so wrong about jun's personality back then?#but it turned into me rambling in the tags again skjfd#tbf i've been good about not doing that as much so i'll give myself a pass lol#melia.txt

love u goog <3
#to explain the dotted squares: Why Are You A Redhead When You Are Bing's Clone.#and the other is like. lets get one thing straight i love goog to death everything in season 2? wouldnt change a damn thing#but i feel like the susan thing was resolved too quickly. and his relationship with mac has gone. underaddressed.#goog was raised by dr. order and i love that he defects right away when shown a first glimmer of something more meaningful#it works well to demonstrate the point that kindness is what we're. as people. most naturally drawn to when circumstance allows for it#but i think how easy it ultimately comes to him even when that's challenged by his personal hurt later kinda. cheapens it a bit?#kindness is easy but its also very hard sometimes when we are faced with the desire or need to protect ourselves from being hurt#and susan letting goog get his catharsis from attacking her even though it wasnt Her her that hurt him#is something i feel should've left him feeling a bit more. conflicted a bit longer. the resolution was sweet but not fully earned imo?#and then theres mac. your little brother almost kills you in cold blood chasing the same meaningless victory you were raised to achieve#and then just. befriends your platonic partner's little sister and becomes part of the family while changing very little of his outlook#just changing who he answers to because he got his ass kicked. and you're just supposed to feel fucking NORMAL about that???????#idk just think google should get to bite people and be dysfunctional a little more he was raised by doctor order hes not even two years old#he's a shonen protagonist with anxiety but the anxiety doesn't even really interfere meaningfully with anything narratively best i remember#machi has the excuse of being baby to explain why he's so innocent and even he's distinctly self-centered at times#google is a grown man and chooses kindness every day after he got out of there#and that rules. but id like to see him struggle with it just a LIL more#a bit too much of a perfect victim after he gets out for my taste. i had a similar problem with adora in she-ra#lots of not having a frame of reference for a different normal than theirs but always choosing the Right™ thing to do the first time anyway#but thats a mild 'show dont tell'-y writing gripe#its been a good bit since i watched the eps referenced so my feelings might change when i get to them in my rewatch#i simply think meeting a version of your shitty mom that's largely the same but not shitty should make you feel. a lot of different ways#and we didnt really get to see goog wrestle with that after finding out susan wasnt Really her and i think thats kind of a shame#and i dont remember if mac and goog have even shared any screentime after that time Mac Injured Him Terribly with plus ultra
