ah shit here we go again
Okay, old guys, are you there? Remember them?
For beginners and those who have forgotten, let me remind you: This is Phobos (devil girl), Deimos (witch boy) and Pono (ghoul boy)
Phobos and Deimos - Lock and Shock's children, they are also each other's brother and sister
Pono - Barrel's son, the youngest in the gang and the softest cinnamon roll, unlike his buddies
In fact, they are just a small copy of their parents: they also like to be self-willed, eat sweets and do dirty tricks to the residents of Halloween Town. Gradually I will introduce each of them
Fun fact: In fact, the full name of Pono is Pо́nos, but due to the fact that in Russian there is a homograph that is not very pleasant for him, we had to remove the last letter, and now we have what we have
Their names are also of ancient Greek origin and are translated as Fear, Terror and Pain

can’t talk about it
[ID: Black and white comic of Vash and Wolfwood from Trigun Maximum. The comic starts with the sounds "thud, thud, click". Vash, mid-action of peeling an apple, turns to the sound, noticing who it was that entered, and says, "Oh, Wolfwood, you're back." He resumes back to his apple in the next panel as he speaks, "Where'd you go? You snuck out of bed quickly this morning..." Wolfwood's hand then enters the panel, hovering over Vash's cheek and Vash looks up as Wolfwood asks, "Can I?" Vash responds, "Not going to talk about it?" while using a hand to gently hold Wolfwood's hovering hand and presses a kiss to his inner palm.
Vash then gets up fully, setting down the knife down on the table and the apple onto a plate, He leans into Wolfwood as Wolfwood explains, "Had to meet someone. Nothing interesting to talk about." Vash kisses Wolfwood's left cheek and a hand moves to cup his other cheek while muttering, "You're being vague." Wolfwood says neutrally, "If yer really that curious, keep askin'. We can talk about that instead of doing this." Vash leans back and responds, "Let's talk after, since... You look so tired."
The panel pans to a close up of Wolfwood's downcast eyes, bags heavy underneath his eyes. He doesn't allow Vash to sit in that moment for long though, then saying, "Yer not helping, Spikey. Being all slow with it... I could fall asleep right now." He moves his hand to start unclasping Vash's coat, starting from his collar. Vash with red cheeks, responds briskly, "Oh, shut up. I'm worried about you. I can't be worried?"
The final shot shows Wolfwood's back to the viewer while Vash's softened expression can be seen as he holds gently onto the side of Wolfwood's face and a hand firm on his waist. Wolfwood responds, "I'm fine, seriously," pausing for a moment before continuing, "Is it okay to still..?" Vash responds, "Yeah, it's okay."
The next image is a shot from later that night after the previous comic. Vash and Wolfwood are now in bed, half naked. Wolfwood's buries his face into Vash's chest, his arms wrapped around him, while Vash is petting at his hair. Vash reminds him, "Hey. You said we'd talk about it." Wolfwood pauses for a moment before piping up, "In the morning? I'm sleepy." Vash says, "Okay..."
The next two pages start from the morning after. Wolfwood is already fully awake, pulling on his outer jacket as he says to Vash, whos' still bundled in his blankets, "Breakfast is on the table. Make sure to eat it. I'm going to grab some things in town and then we're leavin'. Got it?" Vash says, "Mh." Wolfwood responds, "Good. See ya in a bit." The dialogue starts to shift into Vash's inner thoughts now, as he gets up and eats toast, thinking, "Wait. Weren't we supposed to... talk about it?" The next shot then shows him fully up, meeting Wolfwood in town. He carries a half worried expression with him while Wolfwood slides on his glasses for him. A quick panel shows Wolfwood's tired expression from the night before and quickly juxtaposes with Wolfwood in front of him who's smiling gently, the shades covering his eye bags. Wolfwood asks him, "Still not awake yet?" Vash pauses, his thoughts stirring, thinking, "Oh. I guess I was getting ahead of myself... thinking you owe me that kind of honesty." He smiles at Wolfwood and responds, "I'm awake!" His thoughts continue, "Maybe one day, you'd trust me enough to share your burdens."
The final image shows Wolfwood pulling at Vash's cheek and Vash complains, "Owwwww why..." Wolfwood quickly says, "You were thinking something stupid, right? It's all over yer face." Vash mutters, "Nooo, I wasn't..." END ID]

the thing about watcher is I think buzzfeed unsolved fucked them over. both in terms of numbers but also in terms of output. if you go to buzzfeed unsolved network and sort by popular, you have to scroll past 84 videos before you get below 10mil views. and a lot of those are 5-7 years old, so those are numbers they would've been looking at when deciding to break off from buzzfeed (the first watcher video was posted 4 years ago). they thought they could get big numbers without constantly churning out videos, because that's what they'd gotten with buzzfeed unsolved. and I'm sure they adjusted their projected numbers to account for people not following over to the new channel, but I doubt they predicted their top videos would be in the 8mil views range (which is still a lot, but not what they had pulled in the past).
so they aren't getting old buzzfeed unsolved numbers, but that's okay! look at the try guys - they aren't putting up millions of views every video and they're able to have a company with a decent amount of employees. and this is where the output issue comes in. between their main channel and their various podcasts, try guys is putting out 5 videos a week, with 2 being main channel videos. watcher is putting out 3 with 1 being a main channel video. plenty of people who have been making videos for a while have talked about the youtube grind and the algorithm - there's a reason daily vlogs and content houses got so big. and watcher didn't want to do that grind. from the beginning they've said they want to do seasons of shows. which is feasible! again, this is something try guys does with without a recipe. but the difference is try guys has quick and cheap videos they can put out in between and concurrently with those big shows that help support them. eat the menu is their best example of this because it gets big numbers. watcher doesn't really have filler videos.
to further the try guys comparison, buzzfeed unsolved limited the type of content fans were looking for in a way try guys was never limited because trying new things is a really fucking broad category. try guys was always more about the people than the specific thing they were trying. obviously a lot of fans of watcher like ryan and shane (and to a lesser extent steven, based on how many people are blaming him specifically for this). but I'm sure there were also people only watching because they liked true crime and/or ghost hunting content, which makes it harder to branch out and retain ghost files numbers on their other shows.
overall, they thought they could be buzzfeed with just unsolved, and that's not how youtube works and now it's fucking them over that they got too ambitious too fast

No thoughts tonight, just yearning for Levi to hug me and rub my back while he assures me things are alright now. He would whisper about how amazing I am and how everything is alright now as he cups my face, rubbing my cheek with his thumb.
I would exhale in relief and melt in his arms.
"Let's go to bed, love," he would take my coat from me, throw it onto the sofa, and guide me to the bedroom. Things are alright now.
I am safe with him.

So a thought I keep coming back to about Detroit: Become Human is how Connor is the only android to ever put his mission, his goals, and his existence on the line for a human.
Hear me out.
Markus loves Carl like a father, but he never stops what he's doing for Carl's sake. You can, without question, come to a conclusion where Carl is alive and have Markus use a dirty bomb. None of Markus decisions can come at the expense of a human he cares about. Markus can take the pacifist route and let his people get killed to refrain from hurting humans, but that's a tactical choice Markus makes about how to win over a watching population.
Kara should have had that potential for sacrifice in her story. She saves Alice, drags her around the city, can steal for her and threaten others for her and sacrifice herself and others for her. Except because someone thought a twist was more important, Alice is an android. So Kara's story is about an android family, and the lengths they'll go to for each other. The revelation that androids will fight and sacrifice for other androids is not a revelation at this point. It just is.
Daniel loves Emma, but when he might be taken away from her he threatens to throw her off a roof. He tells the player, about a dying policeman, "All humans die eventually. What does it matter if this one dies now?"
And then there's Connor. If Connor is a machine he can be ruthless and unforgiving and coldly calculating.
But Connor can also not be that. Connor can put his first mission on the line for a human he doesn't know, to save a policeman's life.
Connor can let a deviant escape to save Hank's life.
Connor can sacrifice his own existence, at least in this body, to shield Hank, or he can destroy the deviant he wanted to capture alive to save many more.
Connor does this despite pressure from his creators. He does this knowing that these failures could lead to his own destruction.
And in the end, the very end, if Connor does all this and becomes a fully fledged deviant, he can also put the entire android revolution on the line. His existence, the existence of all androids, the freedom of an entire species can be risked to save Hank. Everything Connor is, and wants, and set out to do gets put aside because another Connor puts a gun to Hank.
Nobody else gets to make those sacrifices for humans.
Connor does it for Hank literal minutes after murdering two guards in an elevator. Two dudes that were just hired to do a job and happened to be in the way get unflinching bullets put in them.
But not Hank.
And even if Connor doesn't go deviant, if he had a good relationship with Hank he can refuse to kill him. He can pull him back off the roof and let himself get killed instead of killing Hank.
No other android gets those choices.

Maybe this can help you my art much worse than yours and I get work that pay quite well. Many artists don't know that they need to send emails with their portfolios to art directors and participate in art competitions, not judging took me years to learn that, because most companies nowadays are came to me, rarely art directors care for social media, well only if you count LinkedIn as social media. And never concentrate at first at the big ones, like if you to work with toys so I go to toy stores and get companies names.
And small tip put 10 of your best pieces in the email many art directors will not click a link and do not send the same email to multiple people.
oh yeah this is actually really good advice that goes under the ‘unashamedly put yourself out there’ category
doing ‘cold calls’ like this absolutely works, especially if you send your work to smaller businesses so that they’ll actually read your email.
the one thing I’ve been running up to with this, though, is being repeatedly ghosted after really promising starts (getting to the zoom call stage with people and even once actually completing a paid job!!) so the key is really just persistence... that and writing professional, respectful business emails haha
art competition aren’t something I’ve come across very often though... I’d be interested in learning how to find ones that are worthwhile to enter (a lot of them seem really shady and like they’re taking advantage of artists honestly)

Rewatched the episode with the magma breather or however it was called and 1) its literally so rude how Eugene is treated when he worked so hard to keep all the other dragons safe and thought on the spot how to talk buzzsaw down. He's treated like an annoying idiot and he acts like the annoying older brother but he's legitimately one of the better characters on the show.
2) it is so absolutely tragic just how close he wad to getting buzzsaw to turn his life around. Even called him leonard once and he doesn't get mad like usual just says 'no, buzzsaw, it took me forever to establish that nickname'
