Let me tell y’all something.. Zac Oyama maybe play characters with low intelligence scores, but he is SO good at pulling threads together and remembering information about the lore and making connections and figuring things out

Gorgug especially has been really great at making connections and asking the right questions. (That’s why the boy increased his intelligence score in sophomore year)

I’m wondering what the implication of the energy attacking Cassandra being the same thing as what Lydia is keeping in her chest? Do we actually know what it was Lydia was fighting with her adventuring party? Will we find out more? Does Lydia use her own rage to keep it subdued or is the energy created by rage (eg Cassandra’s anger at Kristen)?

actually natori has some kind of tracking talisman on matoba at all times. that's how he knew where to abduct matoba from for Operation: Kitty Cat City. matoba fully knows about it; it's why he wasn't at all surprised to find a paper doll in natsume's hair after the mask youkai debacle (matoba internally as he watched it fly away: classic mother hen shuuichi-san momence 🥰). because this is matoba "boundaries? what are those? can you eat them?" seiji we're talking about, he's not bothered by this "violation" of his "privacy"; rather, he finds it fittingly clingy (it is, after all, only right that natori should be keeping tabs on him obsessively). sometimes the talisman gets confused and sticks to yesterday's outfit, so he always checks to make sure he has it on the way out the door (his pocket patdown is "keys, lighter, wallet, exorcism supplies, shuuichi-san's cute lil tracker he thinks i don't know about <3"). i wouldn't be surprised if he's figured out how to uno reverse it and now uses it to track natori's location as well. this may not technically be canon but it is probably all 100% true in an important way that transcends canon, we just never hear about it because it isn't relevant to natsume's journey 😌

Dream telling Hob about all his names when they meet again is sweet, but I think it would be funnier if he just didn't. Showed up 33 years late, immediately admitted they're friends, sits down, asks Hob about what he's been up to, forwards absolutely no information of his own until Hob tentatively asks him what happened, and the Stranger just goes "oh I was detained. It wasn't because of you that I didn't show up. I'm sorry" and doesn't elaborate. Hob thinks the friendship isn't actually solid enough to pry past the guy's very much too guarded eyes, so they keep on this charade of Hob Gadling and his Very Strange Friend. Dream doesn't even tell him he's not the one allowing him to keep living.

I have feelings about this I don't actually think the persevering anonimity is funnier, I think Dream cherishing Hob's willingness to call him friend just because he wants to and not because he knows him as Dream of the Endless with Hob actually just liking him as the Stranger and being distraught he didn't show up and then happy he did, is actually the sweetest scenario.

Tbh when I first played through Dead Plate some of Rody's actions rang alarms in my head the size of silver call bells because like- Boyy you just happened to get a job for your ex's current bf? Boyyy you just happened to get the idea to find evidence about their relationship by searching through personal belongings? Boyyyyyy.....

Then again I can't be too mean when it turns out Manon got killed by said bf so all of his suspicions turned out to be horrifically on the exact perfect track

Me: So, I have these dizzy spells that take me when I am walking and I almost fall bc of them. I also have trouble standing for any period of time because of my poor balance, which is made worse by the above mentioned dizzy spells.

My doctor: have you considered sitting down when this happens?

Me: Gee, thank you Sherlock! I really never thought that sitting down could solve my problem with standing up. But did you hear the part where I told you I kind of like walking and the point is for me to still be able to go out of the house for more than 1 hour at a time?

it's unintentional meta commentary as fuck that ST season 2 centered a plotline about racism and specifically anti-Blackness that its white creators and writers clearly didn't know how to grapple with long term while minimizing the storyline of a woman of color whose background as a Lab Kid added endlessly more depth and narrative weight down to a single episode that didn't get to engage with the larger arc of the show as a whole in this essay i will-

I'm Not Dead Yet AU: how high is the chance that people realize that Ragnarök is future Raph, when our turtles enter the picture?

(I combined these two because the answers are sort of related)

I haven't nailed down an exact timeline for this fic, but at this point I'm thinking that Raph goes back roughly six to eight years before the original invasion date. The exact time is subject to change of course because I need to figure out some of the major plot points and how far apart they actually need to be, but by the time the younger turtles start showing up around the Hidden City (assuming for now a similar timeline to canon), Raph would already be pretty well known there. He's a Battle Nexus Champion, he's got ties to Baron Draxum, and he's a fairly social guy, so he's got a lot of connections. He's a well-known figure around the Hidden City. Basically, Raph is people's reference point for "big turtle guy", if that makes sense.

So, people might look at the present Raph and go "Wow, this kid looks like a mini Ragnarök!" or looks at his brothers and go "huh, reminds me of that kappa Nexus fighter." But for the most part they wouldn't immediately assume any connection between them. Sure, kappa are pretty rare, but the teenage turtles are also generally pretty upfront about being mutants rather than yokai, whereas Raph has kinda just let people assume he's a yokai--afterall, he goes back several years before mutations actually start happening. (And there's probably a lot of Hidden City/Yokai specific social rules the younger turtles just don't know, so they kinda stand out.) That and it's kind of in poor taste to ask random turtle mutants if they have any connection to the city-wide famous turtle yokai, y'know?

Another mitigating factor would be that between his scars, tattoos, makeup, missing arm, completely different fashion sense, and extra couple feet of height, Raph doesn't really... look like his younger self. There's obviously a resemblance, but it's enough of a difference that a lot of people would have to see them side by side to go "you two are freakishly similar, actually."

In other words, people would notice the similarities, but they wouldn't immediately jump to the conclusion that 'Ragnarök' is somehow related to the other turtles.

cyrillo does not fear losing control of himself like kaiya does bc honestly? he accepted that he's something of a monster long ago, not that he views it as something negative. hard for some to swallow? yes, but not entirely negative. being a vampire means being stronger, faster, more resilient, and any being with power can become drunk from it. the trick is to not be a bad drunk and build a tolerance of sorts. sort of treat it like alcohol.

he doesn't fault kaiya for not drinking from the source, but he does think she approaches her hunger from a bad angle. she's afraid of it controlling her rather than knowing she controls it. she doesn't have the confidence she should; cyrillo doesn't blame her for that, either, because few vampires can say they haven't left a trail of bodies behind them at some point. but it's also the fact that kaiya worries that others will think she's a monster unworthy of love. she viewed herself this way for ages, never entirely let go of that, and now it holds her back. cyrillo is of the opinion that those who would condemn kaiya -- or any vampire -- for something not truly in her control are not worthy of her love.

there is a beast inside everyone, clawing at the opportunity to live and grow strong enough to keep on living. cyrillo embraces it. he knows others have a hard time accepting it. this is the only reason he keeps his darker urges/thoughts to himself. i feel like i'm rambling at this point, but i hope y'all get what i'm trying to say asdf

I'm still. like I have... nothing yknow? which isn't like. unfamiliar to other mixed indigenous kids from parents born in the '60s but it's also like. I don't even have anything concrete from my white parentage. I have vague clues and ideas but. I'm 3rd generation here from that side of my family at least irt my grandfather, who's parents fled ??? during a war with him. and I know nothing abt my matertnal grandmother's family other than most of her close relatives are abusers/sex offenders/sided with the prev 2 options and I never got more info than that.

and if I don't know anything abt my dad and how he grew up. the most I know is he's Indigenous he was born in/around the 60s and if she is his bio mother my paternal grandmother was institutionalized. that's it! that's all I get! and it was second hand and gruff clipped answers on a car ride when i tried to confirm.

carla: described as ''overprotective'' and ''a worrier.'' definitely portrayed as anxious. mostly wants to sit in a tent and play cards during a camping trip. new husband is secretly shady but outwardly boring. ambushes ex-husband at work because she heard something about a missing backpacker that, at the time, she had no reason to think was even slightly connected to her daughter's glamping trip. very unimpressed with the idea that her new husband and daughter have been snooping and pissing off potentially dangerous people the second she left them alone together. honestly just wants to relax and go fishing.

beau: written and portrayed as someone with almost a genuinely odd lack of fear and anxiety unless it has to do with his daughter being in ''those woods.'' regularly (and cheerfully) throws his entire damn self into potentially life ending dangerous situations every other day - examples: throwing himself onto the hood of a speeding car, engaging in a high speed motorcycle chase, putting himself in front of a loaded weapon handled by a grief stricken murder victim's family member. never has any backup with him other than jenny and sometimes poppernak. wants to buy sixteen year old child a motorcycle. unironically uses phrases like ''it's better to ask forgiveness than permission.'' got knifed by a dude who lived in the walls.
