It is really super fucking telling that Jews and Muslims are experiencing massive amounts of hate crimes right now and it isn't Jews and Muslims committing said hate crimes.

We are not character is in a game or some sports team. We are all very real people who very much impacted by calls for our death and traumatized by happens to members of our communities even if it is in other parts of the world.

I know there many of you on this site having the time of your life being able to go mask off and revel in calling for Jews to die.

But this is not a joke, this is not fictional. This is real.

Wadea al-Fayoume, 6 year-old Palestinian-American child was murdered in Illinois by the family's landlord. (who again I need to stress was not Jewish)

This is what you are sowing and we, the Jewish and Muslim communities, will end having reap.

Enough is enough. Stop. Just stop.

Be quiet if can not focus your words on how to send help, aid, and resources for Palestinians.

For the record, the man accused in the shooting of the three Palestinian men was NOT JEWISH.

Please do not allow this terrible event to contribute to antisemitism or retaliatory Islamophobic violence.

James J. Eaton, the accused, is a white Christian man whose mother thought he was decorating a Christmas tree she gave him at the time of the shooting.

Many of us—Jews/Muslims/Israelis/Palestinians/Arabs—have been BEGGING those who claim to be our allies to dispense with violence and violent rhetoric against all of our communities precisely because we all know that these kinds of things happen as a result.

When I say that the rhetoric and tone you use online and the dogwhistles you espouse thoughtlessly can get people killed, this is what I’m talking about.

We all know that you want to be on the “right” side of history. But you have to want peace for all MORE than you want the self righteously fulfilling feeling of being right. This is not a game. People in your country are dying because people who claim to want to help are hurting everyone instead.

The only sides in this conflict are peace vs war, love vs hate. We must all be united in our desire for peace, not by our (self-proclaimed)“righteous” fury.

If you are demonizing Israel and Israelis and Jews or Muslims and Arabs and Palestinians, you are not only on the wrong side. You are not even on a side that can possibly be right.

Your personal political identity is irrelevant. Being a leftist/liberal/progressive doesn’t mean you’re immune to being hateful and Islamophobic and antisemitic. Being right wing/conservative doesn’t meant you are, either.

So, once again, I’m BEGGING YOU ALL: please tone down your rhetoric. Learn what dog whistles affect all parties in this conflict and then stop using them. Elevate the voices of people working for peace, not victory. And spend more time learning from those more familiar with the conflict than you do from those speaking most loudly about it.

And for the love of G-d. Please learn to interrogate a source for credibility before sharing it.

Since I was little kid, I remember my shul having police cars outside to protect us during high holy days, someone always monitoring the door, and security cameras showing all the entrances. After the Tree of Life shooting in Pittsburg, it heightened. My rabbi and cantor were once in the news after spending a day testifying against someone who had threatened to bomb our shul.

I was a bit older when I found out that churches don't have security. I was shocked. "So, you can just go in whenever you want? They don't even lock the doors?" I remember asking. The mom of a goyische friend of mine was equally shocked to discover that shuls do have security. "Why would they need security?" she asked me.

It was then that I realized that the amount of security we had - and every other shul had - was not the norm.

A non-binary student has died after being beaten to near death in a school bathroom. Their name was Nex Benedict.

There is an ongoing gofundme the family has set up in their memorial. The ACLU and Lambia fund released a joint statement of support as part of their ongoing legal campaign to protect and support transgender students in Oklahoma public schools, Bridge v. Oklahoma State Department of Education.

I don't really have anything else to add. This whole thing is just heartbreaking and I can't even begin to imagine what their family must be going through. This is why we must continue to fight and not leave LGBT students in red states behind. To protect students like Nex.

Nex Benedict preferred he/him pronouns (according to his ex partner) but used they/them with family and something about that makes me want to cry. Because I understand, because that's something I've experienced, and because of the fact that someone I have a shared experience with is dead because he was murdered in an act of transphobic and anti-indigenous violence. Police are investigating after the United Church in Ponoka was vandalized on Thursday.

Mounties say someone threw eggs and splattered tar and an unknown substance on the rainbow sidewalk leading to the church.

"I was gutted, shattered, just really demoralized," said Jessica Jones of the Ponoka Pride Society.

Members of the church congregation first painted the steps in 2020, to show solidarity with the LGBTQ2S+ community.

Graham Boys of the church said he's disappointed someone would vandalize the steps, particularly during Pride month. [...]

What I've seen people fail to mention is that Nex, after regaining consciousness, went to the nurse’s office who then refused to call an ambulance. Their death is also due to the negligence of the school.

Hey people, I really don't like to make these kind of posts but today I got roughed up by a subway guard after I defended myself from a violent and sexual aggression. My partner and 2 friends were there, but otherwise no one did anything about it I got beaten while that man yelled slurs at me, choking me until near unconsciousness and kept beating me way after I was immobilized. Then I got handcuffed for half an hour while I had to endure the subway workers and guards mocking me and even making threats until the cops arrived. I'm currently at the hospital getting a medical report to present to the police since the guard sued me, so I'm left with no choice but to sue back. I've seen this stuff happen before and I can tell you this much, there will be no justice, best case scenario I will just lose money in an attorney and the whole deal will end in no party getting anything. Still I want to ask you to please reblog and engage because the only justice I can hope for is that this goes public. Thank you.

I would rather not post pictures of my full face rn for mental wellbeing reasons, but if anyone is concerned, all bruises are superficial and I didn't get any heavy wounds, the blood was nasal.
