The Trial

Eddie Munson liked to think he kept his promises.

And when his boyfriend Billy said that he almost cheated on him with a stranger, and Eddie said that he would have a threesome with that man if he had the possibility, he didn’t lie. 

Steve Harrington had tried to seduce both of them in different occasion - not related- and now he was between them, fucking and being fucked, and he can’t believe to his luck.

Steve met Eddie in Paris and Billy in Malibu, and both times they rejected him at the last moment; he stole a kiss from both, but then he met them again at a business lunch, they came hand in hand and he was scared one of them would break his face. 

The lunch was unusually tense, the other guests didn’t understand why, and at the end Steve considered the idea to literally run away for his life. 

But Eddie and Billy remained seated even when the others went away, and he felt oddly chained to that seat in front of them, feeling like he was under trial. He thought that possibly they didn’t tell each other about him, but he couldn’t move after all.

“I knew your face was familiar” said Billy after a long silence, taking his book off his bag. Steve blushed. 

“Such a coincidence, isn't it?” added Eddie. 

“I don’t know what to say,” confessed Steve.

“Remember what I said to you last night?” continued Eddie taking his boyfriend’s hand. Billy looked at him intensely and Steve felt frankly aroused.

“Very well” he smiled, and then looked at Steve, who felt completely defenseless. 

Billy slipped a hand to Steve’s and grabbed it. “Maybe we can go somewhere more private?” and Steve blushed furiously.

Eddie grabbed his waist during the walk to Billy’s house. In the elevator, they remained side to side looking at him, and he wasn’t sure yet if they would beat kill him, or fuck him.

Notes: This is my 9th and final entry to the @harringroveson-bingo 2022-2023 square A1: What could've been. NOTE! This fic has an overall theme that some might find disturbing. If you choose to read, make sure you have tissues. Because I cried my eyes off when I wrote this.

Summary: The fact that the letter needed to be written in the first place was the worst.

Billy,

Steve looked at the name on the paper. How it smudged when his tear fell on the ink that hadn’t yet dried in full. He let out a frustrated scream and crushed the paper, chucking it onto the floor with other crumbled papers that covered the big part of the room’s floor.

He leaned onto the table and pressed the heels of his palms into his eyes, and took a deep breath to keep himself from crying again. The sleeves and the hem of his shirt were soaked because he had run out of tissues a long time ago. But he couldn’t leave the house to buy more before he got his feelings on a paper.

It was the only way he knew to tackle the bottomless hurt that was his life now after a long agonizing time—and yet, all too soon.

He wanted the letter to be perfect, but it felt like every start had something wrong from the get go.

But everything was wrong now. Him having to write the letter in the first place was the worst.

His head hurt, his eyes hurt, and his heart ached. If ever, now he knew that heart could indeed break. Because his had.

And nothing would ever make it better.

He was angry at Billy for leaving. For going away. For hurting him like no one else ever could. Shattering his heart into a thousand pieces. It could never be put together again the way it had been.

Maybe he should’ve told Billy that his leaving would make him a shadow of his former self. Maybe it would’ve made all the difference. Maybe Billy would’ve stayed if he had.

But Billy probably had known that even without him saying the words.

Steve knew it was useless, all this anger. But he was at a point he would’ve done anything to have Billy back. If it would make a difference, he would travel on the other side of the world to find him. He would give his left kidney, if it changed everything. His life, even.

The things he would do just to see Billy one more time, to have him in his arms, just once more. Just one more touch, one more kiss.

People told him he would find someone new. That he would get over Billy.

As if it was that simple. How do you get over someone who made you the person you are? Someone you wanted to make happy every moment of every day? Someone who made you happy just by existing?

Why would you ever want to get over something like that?

He sat back down, and took another paper in front of him, and started writing.

Billy… You broke me into a thousand pieces. My life halted that moment on that couch when you left. I’m still there, sitting, still unable to breathe, just waiting for you to come back into my arms.

I’ve never hurt more, and I wish you could feel how much. I know it’s not fair to think like that. But you took everything from me. I was left with nothing, and now I don’t know how I’m supposed to live.

Because you were my everything.

There’s so much we should’ve done instead of what we did. We used to bicker about such useless things and moped in different rooms.

We should’ve taken that trip to Hawaii you always wanted. I don’t know why I always said no. Just a long weekend. Two days off from work. I could’ve done that. Or the grass in the backyard that always burned in the summer when there wasn’t enough rain. I should’ve just changed it into a plastic one and you would've had green grass all year long.

Or we should've had that baby you so much wanted, with a surrogate mother. Then I’d at least have them to remind me of you. Someone looking like you. Maybe even being a little like you.

So many things you wanted, and I denied them from you. And now I see I denied them also from myself.

What could have been if in all those moments I would’ve just listened instead and agreed to what you wanted? And then just kissed everything better.

Yes, we should’ve kissed so much more. And made love. Even though I loved your mind, it was never a secret that I adored your body. I don’t think I can ever touch anyone the way I did you.

I don’t think I will ever even want to.

I wish I’d known how to fix everything. How to fix whatever was causing it all, quietly eating you from the inside until it was too late to stop it.

But I know these what ifs are useless. You’re beyond of point of no return. You’re not coming back. The fucking cancer took you from me.

I loved you so much. More than I realized even myself until now when I can no longer tell you.

I just wish that when my words weren’t enough to tell you how much I loved you, my deeds spoke for themselves, even if they weren't always perfect, and that all of them together said everything you needed to hear.

Billy, you will forever be my first and my last, my alpha and my omega, my everything.

Now my only wish is that when it’s my time to join you, you’ll be at the gates, waiting.

I'm back in town!

The queen of the house was not amused by all these shenanigans.

The first draft of my Harringrove bigbang fic is done. (Do I love it? Yes. Will I be fiddling with it at length? Of fucking course! Am I excited but scared in advance for the artist claiming part of the process? Hell yeah! But I'll survive.)

My first fic for the Mungrove summer bingo is done but I have to let it rest a big more before publishing; and I have an unexpected Harringrove fic ready because the brain started braining that way and who am I to fight it?

It was a good vacation.

Now, back to regular programming.

Sweet Pies

Those summer nights

Eddie Munson didn't believe in love at first sight before last may.

He believed in his dick quiver and in his arousal, although he had a few relationships that didn’t last long, to be honest. He was always busy, on tour or in the studio, his fame was growing quickly and he was always crowded with people he could enjoy, and that all didn’t favor a relationship.

But when he met Billy Hargrove, his dick had twitched in a very good way and, oddly, his heart had twitched too, so now he was madly in love with his boyfriend and, for the moment, things between them were working. Billy Hargrove was People Magazine most beautiful man of the year, and honestly Eddie didn’t think he could ask more. Besides, Billy wasn’t only stunning beautiful but also kind, lovely and funny, and apparently was also crazy in love with him.

The circumstances didn’t help them at the moment, though, because Eddie was in Europe for summer festivals all over the continent for a month now, they could only talk by phone, and although Billy was always available in Eddie’s time zone, it wasn’t the same.

They started dating for real two months ago, Eddie had a little pause between the USA tour and the festival season in Europe and they spent some days in Malibu, where Billy lived, then went for a weekend in Vegas and generally Eddie followed Billy in the cities he had to work. He spent more time than he expected under a beach umbrella watching hours of makeup, dressing and photoshoots waiting for Billy, extremely bored and amazed because Billy seemed always ready and professional despite the hours he was forced to stay still or pose.

But all the waiting and the boredom was repaid by the dates he could have with Billy after that. They went to little restaurants and cafes, almost always with baseball caps and sunglasses, but Billy was so incredibly shining that he could barely hide himself from the tabloids. There were some photos on the Internet of them kissing and holding hands, and there were some speculations about their unexpected relationship but they kept going out together and having dinners eye to eye, and things were smooth now, after Eddie’s assistant had a little nervous breakdown, nothing serious though.

But now he was in Paris, and he was on the edge of a breakdown himself, that only a huge quantity of scotch could control.

All he did was eat and sleep and sing, have hot calls with Billy that unfortunately couldn’t last forever, and drink in the tour bus, after the soundcheck or before sleeping. It’s only two days before they would return to the USA and he was trying to breathe deep and relaxing at the pool with his drink. He fell asleep in the sunset, they didn't play that night, they had another festival the following day and then finally a flight home.

He woke up to the summer breeze that came up later that night, the sun was down but the light was still intense, the air smelled of thyme and sunset and tequila, and he heard a soft water noise.

He looked around, he was alone in the beach chair and it took a little time to adapt his vision to the low light.

Someone was swimming in the pool, he couldn’t see well but apparently was a single person, he also saw a pair of flip flops on the edge. He sat in the chair and drank the last sip of scotch and melted ice, and lit a cig, watching.

After a while, the person decided to emerge to the pool. Eddie found himself holding his breath for a while against his will.

The young man pushed with his muscled arms on the edge and lifted himself solidly to the pool edge, shaking his dark honey hair and splashing droplets around. His chest was wet and hairy and his stretch Speedo didn’t leave much to imagination. He appeared to be fully stocked and his round bottom was a feast for the eyes.

He grabbed his towel to dry his head, and he saw Eddie staring mouth open only at that moment.

“Oh” he said. “I’m sorry, I think I was alone” said tilting his head to you. Eddie moved a little to hide his hardon in his trunks.

“No problem” said with a dry throat.

Author note: Uh, my hand kinda slipped a bit and this became almost a 6k monster (I think it's rather appropriate for this prompt though 😂) so I can't post it in full here, but there's a short snippet under the cut and full fic is on AO3.

Summary: Steve Harrington has had the worst summer ever and it's the beginning of his senior year. He doesn't quite know anymore if Nancy Wheeler is the love of his life, or if he even likes, you know, just women. A blue Camaro almost drives him over - and brings something big into his life he didn't even know he liked or wanted. But it was what he definitely needed.

Steve parked the BMW on the school lot. First day of school after summer, he hadn’t even gotten inside the building, and he was already tired of it. They’d fought last night with Nancy, and the atmosphere in the car was more than freezing. Nancy got up without saying a word, leaving Steve sit alone in the car.

He closed his eyes and leaned his head on the wheel. Something had changed between him and Nancy. He didn’t quite know what. Over the summer he’d felt a longing for something else. It didn’t necessarily mean that he wanted to break up with her. It was just that...well, if he was brutally honest, maybe he did want to break up with her. Sure, they had dates, they had fun, they had sex - everything seemed to be ok on the outside. But inside it didn’t feel the same anymore. Why - he had no idea.

Steve leaned back up, grabbed his bag from the backseat, and got out of the car - just managing to close the door and save it from being taken out by a dark blue Camaro.

“For fuck’s sake!” he let out, and stared after the car, that parked on the other side of the lot.

He hadn’t seen this car before. Someone had probably gotten a new car or... He didn’t get to finish his thought, when the driver got out. Steve’s brows shot up. Ok, definitely a new student. Blonde curls, not at all bad looking, denim cladded body. A well built body, Steve could tell that much.

Something stirred up inside him. A feeling he hadn’t had before. Ok, fine, maybe he’d had it before, when leafing through the Sears catalogue men’s underwear section in the summer. He had thought it was just a one time thing, a momentary glitch in his matrix.

Now, having it again, it felt wrong for it to feel so right.

The guy had closed the door, and was looking around the lot. His eyes locked with Steve's, and he stopped chewing his gum for a moment. Then the moment was gone, he looked away, and started to walk towards the main doors.

“Hey Steve! Close that gaping hole in your face, and let’s go,” Tommy Hagan shouted from his car that was three cars down from Steve’s.

Steve realized that indeed he had his mouth open, and a bit too much for comfort. He just hoped that the new guy hadn’t seen it.

Steve met the new guy ,Billy Hargrove, at the basketball practice a week later. Intimately.

He was a bit shorter than Steve, but all muscle. Lean, mean, fighting machine. Or something, definitely lean and mean, because to pair with the body, the guy had a big mouth and a nerve to use it on anyone. It wasn’t the only thing that was big though. Steve felt very a) self-conscious when he noticed it when it pressed against his ass when Billy was blocking him out during the game, and b) uneasy when he got that strange glitchy feeling all over his body again.

And Steve was almost sure that Billy had gotten on his skin on purpose. Because he got in his face in the showers too.

“What’s your problem?” Steve exasperated when Billy had ran his mouth throughout the practice and now was smirking smugly at him in the shower. The fucker had of course come to the same showers with him, and as if losing the game to Billy’s team wasn’t enough for Steve, he had a hard time of keeping his eyes from wandering down on Billy’s body to check out if what he’d felt in his backside was indeed real.

“King Steve,” Billy drew out the words slowly. He leaned to Steve, and the smug smirk didn’t falter when he whispered: “Not king size though.”

Steve froze. He didn’t want to, and least of all in front of Billy, but his body just refused to move. He was decently equipped, at least in his own mind, and it had done the job with Nancy. But Billy’s comment had totally thrown him off his track.

Billy let out a laugh, not missing a beat. “Oh, a sore subject?”

When Steve regained the control of his body, he just glared at Billy, and shook his head, and continued foaming the shampoo into his hair. “I’m not taking part in this conversation.”

“Well, if you want to try a king size, you know where to find one,” Billy whispered to Steve’s ear, and as a last note turned off Steve’s shower before walking out.

Steve looked after Billy, and slapped the shower tap back on. He was angry, and confused. The asshole seemed to be able to rub him all the wrong ways, and what the hell had he meant exactly with the last remark? Steve wasn’t that kind of guy. He was sure of it...well, ok, he had been quite sure of it, until that remark.
