A Special Birthday Surprise

A birthday fic that I made due to the fact that it's my birthday! I hope you all enjoy this!

"Eis, set those chairs right over here, please," Lance said, looking at the firefighter while holding a recipe book. He pointed to a vacant table. "They are on the heavy side, so make sure to handle them with ease."

"On it, Lance," Eis replied as he and Jose started to lift the chairs up, one by one, and bring them to the table that Lance pointed at.

"What do you think of these decorations, Balan?" NiGHTS asked. They were helping Fiona and Haoyu hang up balloons and other pretty birthday decorations the colors of royal blue, light yellow, white, and apple red. "Think Aria would love them?"

"Why, my dear cousin, I'm sure as sure can get," Balan replied with a grin. "Aria would no doubt be thrilled to see the final results, if you want my bet."

"I agree with Balan," Iben added with a nod. "After all, they are all in Aria's signature colors." She continued to place the decorations on each table.

Everyone in the Balan Theatre had been extremely busy for almost a week. The reason for this made so much sense; Aria's birthday was coming up. Of course, they had to keep what they were doing under wraps whenever their friend was around.

"Say, has Lance decided on what kind of cake that he'll make Aria?" NiGHTS asked.

"He wishes for it to be a surprise," Balan stated. "But trust me when I say that you will love it when you see the cake with your own eyes."

The doors barged open to reveal Kaylo holding a LARGE pile of presents. "I hope I wasn't too late," Kaylo said.

"Where were you, Kaylo?" Rebecca asked, looking up from the refreshment table that she was busy decorating.

"My family and I went gift shopping for Aria," Kaylo explained. "Then, I spent all morning helping them wraps the presents up. So sorry for the long wait. Where can I set them?"

"I finished setting up the gift table," Bruce responded. "You can set them over there." He pointed to the gift table that was currently vacant aside from the decorations.

"Thanks, Bruce." Kaylo made her way to the table and carefully placed the presents down.

"Wow, that's a lot of presents," Yuri said. "I still have mine at home. I was told that Aria's favorite insect is the Monarch Butterfly."

"One of them is from me," Kaylo said. "I got her a pretty spring outfit. The rest are from my family."

(Meanwhile, in the Night Dimension)

Reala sat on the throne of his domain, humming in deep thought. Since the beginning of the week, that was what he had been doing aside from his duties as a Nightmaren General. This was because he was well aware that Aria's birthday was coming up…

…But there was one problem…

…He was the only one who had no idea as to what to give Aria for her birthday.

Reala needed to think fast as to what to give her. Fortunately, in the time that he dated her, he got to know her a lot better just like she got to know him. So it was easy for him to remember her personal likes and dislikes.

Aria obviously loved cats. Royal Blue was her favorite color. She also liked wearing jewelry as evident on the day that he first met her. She had been wearing her wedding ring that was placed onto her left ring finger by the man that she was once married to.

To know that he was able to fill the gap in her heart that Aria's late husband left brought Reala genuine happiness. To the point where there had been times that he would wonder how things would if he married her.

While he and Aria had talked about marriage at one point, Reala was well aware that she was still a bit iffy about remarrying. This was due to her fear that the same thing that happened to her late husband would also happen to Reala. That he would leave her only for disaster to strike, making him unable to return to her.

That was when it hit Reala…

…He knew exactly as to what to give Aria for her birthday…

…He was going to pop the question to Aria. After all, the two had been dating each other for quite some time.

He had an idea as to what Aria's present from him would look like. It would no doubt represent the love that they had for each other.

With a determined smile, Reala flew into a deeper part of his domain and got to work on Aria's special present from him.

(Three Days Later…)

"SURPRISE!!" Everyone yelled in joy when Aria turned on the lights to the room that the party would take place.

Aria gasped in awe and delight as she looked around. "Oh my goodness!" She exclaimed. "I can't believe you did all of this of me!"

"Well, of course, darling!" Lucy replied with the same amount of joy that Aria had. "You've been such an amazing friend to us! When your birthday came, we just had to celebrate it!" Her eyes landed on a silver charm bracelet that was on Aria's right wrist. "Your bracelet is adorable! Where did you get it?"

Aria smiled as she looked down at the charm bracelet. It had seven charms on it; one was Aria's initial, one was Scotland's flag, one was a princess crown, one was a butterfly, one was a star, one was a heart, and one was a dove. "My mother gave me the bracelet this morning," She replied.

"Well, it looks really lovely on you," Cal commented. "Now, let's go celebrate your birthday." He motioned for Aria to join in on the fun.

"Shall we watch Aria open presents or should we all sing to her a Happy Birthday?" Trisha Jane asked. Before Aria could answer, Leo and Emma came rushing by, fear on their faces.

"Guys!" Emma cried out. "Reala is here in the theatre! He's looking for Aria!"

"What could he possibly want with Aria this time?" Sana asked, suddenly getting protective along with Eis.

"Hard to say, but I only know that he likes her a lot," NiGHTS said, becoming protective. "Either way, if he tries anything funny to Aria, I'll be sure to step in!"

As if on cue, Reala suddenly appeared inside the room where the party was at. Kaylo, Mei, Marina, Rebecca, and Trisha Jane all backed away. Leo quickly shielded Emma while Jose and Attilio shielded Yuri and Cass.

"Reala, why are you here?" NiGHTS demanded, getting into a fighting stance.

Reala smirked at NiGHTS's annoyance. "Isn't it obvious, my dear sibling?" He replied in an amused tone. "I came here to see my girlfriend, Aria. I also happen to have a present for her."

"Reala, this better not be a trick or a sick joke," Lance said, glaring at his cousin. "Because if it's either, you will be one sorry bloke."

"I can assure that it's neither," Reala said, frowning at Lance.

Aria looked at NiGHTS and the two maestros. "Don't worry, you three," She assured. "Reala would never hurt me." She approached her Nightmaren lover.

"Ah, Aria," Reala spoke, a light smile on his face. "I have made you a very special present. I do sincerely hope you love it." He then cleared his throat. "Now, we have been together for a quite a while, haven't we?"

"We have." Aria nodded in response with a smile.

"Since the day we met, I found myself thinking about you a lot," Reala explained. "I'd never felt this way toward anyone before. Not even toward a Visitor. You're the only Visitor that I know would never betray my trust. What I am trying to say is that you are MY brightest star in my universe. And I never realized how cold my life really was until I met you. Which is why I wish to ask you something that I should have asked you on the day that I confessed my love for you…"

He then revealed what he was hiding behind his back; a small ring box. Everyone, including Aria, gasped in awe as Reala got down on one knee and opened the box to reveal an engagement ring with a black gold band and two heart-shaped stones; one with a red diamond and one with a blue diamond.

"Aria Montgomery, will you marry me?" Reala asked.

Aria was silent for a minute. Then, happy tears swelled up in her eyes as she nodded. "Yes, I will marry you!!"

Everyone clapped at Aria's response as Reala placed the ring on her left ring finger. The two engaged lovers shared a passionate kiss together.

"Guess we'll have to start planning for Aria's wedding soon, huh?" Haoyu asked Fiona with a smile. All Fiona could do was nod with a smile.

The Perfect Finale Ch7

Earlier That Day...

The kids had decided that the best course of action was to hide in Wonderworld (AKA, Where Prim COULDN’T go) for a few days until she was caught again. They had agreed to get to the theater very early in the morning so that they could talk to Balan and Lance.

So far, Mei had gotten Rebecca, Trisha Jane, Lora Jade and Emma. They only now needed to get Leo, Yuri, Haoyu and Kaylo. "Here's to hoping they're on board with the idea. I mean the last time we were in Wonderworld for an extended period of time was when we were under Lance's control." Emma said. "Yeah...Even if it's water under the bridge at this point, We still haven't been in Wonderworld that long." Lora said.

The group made their way to the Craig household, when Leo came out, but not before his mom told him to be careful on the way to Wonderworld. "Remember. Once you have your friends, head STRAIGHT to Wonderworld. No stops." She said. "I will Mom! I promise!" Leo said, running to the others. "Hey guys! Any word from Haoyu, Kaylo and Yuri?" He asked.

"Haoyu said he's getting Yuri, so all that's left is getting Kaylo." Rebecca said. "OK. As long as we're all at the theater, and until Prim is caught." Leo said. The 6 of them made their way over to the Bruno Mansion, in hope that Kaylo would be ready to go, when there was a sudden earth shattering

BOOM!!!

The ground shook as the ground suddenly cracked as well. "What was that?!" Emma exclaimed. "I don't know!! But maybe it has to do with that?!" Trisha Jane exclaimed, pointing at the Bruno Mansion. Darting around it was something red and floating. "Let's go!" Mei shouted, as the kids quickly ran to the house.

When they made it, the floating red thing had shot down and crashed through the roof. The sounds of the Bruno Family panicking from inside the house could be heard, as a angry voice shouted "GIVE HER TO ME!!". The kids didn't know what was happening, when Kaylo's glass shattering scream was heard, as the red figure launched itself out of the house, with the pink haired girl on their shoulder.

"GUYS!!! HELP!!! HELP!!!" She screamed, flailing and struggling to break free. "HANG ON KAYLO! WE'RE COMING!!" Leo yelled, throwing a rock at the figure. It only just barely grazed its cheek before they glared down at the group. It then shot down and made the earth crack around them, leaving them on a small patch of cracked land. "You will not interfere." He growled.

When the kids finally got a good look at him, they gasped in absolute shock.

He looked exactly like a Maestro, with Wonderworld Symbols in his eyes...

Balan Wonderworld Outfits: Chapter 8

Finally, I'm doing my favorite Chapter! Since it is winter-themed, almost all of the characters will be wearing winter outfits! Though, Iben will receive an interesting outfit choice since this is her Chapter. I hope you all like these!

Leo Craig

A dark blue winter hat with a white pom-pom on top, a dark blue scarf, a white coat with black accents over a red turtleneck sweater, dark blue mittens, black pants, and tall red boots.

Emma Cole

When Young teens Leo and Emma find themselves at a mysterious theater, along with 12 other people, they are told by the enigmatic Maestro Balan, that in order to leave this place called Wonderworld, they must find and repair their hearts. Unfortunately, it will not be easy, as there is a negative Maestro named Lance trying to stop them.

(During the clean-up, Cal looked around the room to see how much had been done.)

Cal: Ah, yes. The lobby is looking a lot cleaner. I think now we can finally focus on the repairs.

Balan: How do we plan to fix the walls, beams, and household essentials? Can we even do it ourselves?

Cal: Some of them, yes. The theater may be in bad shape, but it's still sturdy. Honestly, this all could have been worse.

Balan: Huh?

Bruce: I think he means it's not as bad as it looks. The two big things we're worried about are the plumbing and the heater. Everything else can be fixed with a bit of elbow grease.

Balan: Boy, something about that makes me feel better. Knowing that my theater is not totally ruined gives me some more hope.

Emma: But it doesn't mean we're finished. We're just getting started. The building is enormous. There are rooms that we still need to look into. And I'm almost afraid of what we're going to see.

Iben: I have to admit those spiders gave me the creeps.

Yuri: You're just lucky I haven't found any black widows or brown recluses. Those things can pack a mean bite.

Balan: (shudders) Eugh! Don't even put that energy out there. I wouldn't want any of my friends to get injured.

Leo: Is there anything else that needs to be cleaned?

Sana: These windows look like they could use a good scrub.

(Sana looked at the tall stained glass windows. Their colors have gone gray because of the dust and dirt.)

Cass: Ew! They're filthy!

Emma: These poor windows. I bet they used to look beautiful before they got this way.

Balan: They did. I commissioned a window artist to make them. I feel so ashamed I let them get this way. I feel like I'm disrespecting the artist.

Leo: Aww, don't be like that, Balan. We'll get these cleaned up. We still have some window cleaner. We'll make them shine so bright they'll look like new.

Haoyu: They're... Kind of tall... Like... W-way high up.

Balan: Wait! I have a ladder! That way, we can reach them!

Eis: Well done, Balan. For once, you were actually prepared.

Cass: Someone should go up there and clean the windows. But who?

Leo: Could you do it, Haoyu? I bet you could reach them.

Haoyu: (scared) ME?! No way! Don't even think about sending me up there!

Leo: What's wrong? Are you afraid of heights?

Haoyu: (yells) Yes, I am! Could you not tell! How do you think I broke my arm!?

(Everyone stopped what they were doing. Haoyu felt embarrassed when all the eyes locked on him. Balan slowly approached the boy.)

Balan: Haoyu... What have you done?

Haoyu: (groans in defeat) 3 months ago, I attempted to build an airplane for the science fair at my school. A real one. My dad and I always loved inventing together, so we got to work. We built a shell around my bike to make it look like an airplane. And it was a real work of art if I do say so myself.

Leo: Wait a minute... I remember that science fair! You and I go to the same school, remember? But I didn't see you. Did you get sick or decide not to go?

Haoyu: I couldn't go... Because I made an idiot decision.

Cass: Like what?

Haoyu: I got so into building the plane I installed jet engines and turbines on it. Something my father told me not to touch. I thought touching the sky on a standard bike would be great. After all, everybody wants to fly. And I wanted to fly since I was a kid. So I took it out and flew around the neighborhood... But then... Catastrophe.

Fiona: What happened?

Haoyu: (sounding a little sad) The shell around my bike was just that. A shell. It wasn't built for aerodynamics; it was supposed to look cool. So I fell out of the sky. I was in the hospital for weeks with a concussion, cracked ribs, a bleeding leg, and an arm broken in several places. (gestures at his cast) The doctor said I was lucky to be alive. That's why I'm so afraid of heights. I could have died!

Fiona: Oh, Haoyu, that's terrible!

Balan: (grabs the boy and hugs him tight) Oh, Haoyu, you poor boy! I can't believe that happened to you! It must have been traumatizing! But I'm so glad you're still alive. It would break my heart to see you get hurt so badly. (gets a little teary) I don't know if I could handle that.

Haoyu: Balan, no waterworks... (sighs) But yeah. Ever since then, I've been so scared of heights. I can't even go on a swing without feeling like I'm in danger. I'm such a fool.

(Feeling terrible for the boy, Balan sat down with him and held him in his arms.)

Balan: You and I have the exact same problem. We take action before we think things through.

Emma: What do you mean, Balan?

Balan: The moment I graduated college, I had just enough money to buy the theater, hire a crew, and new furniture. But I never thought that the audience would leave me.

Sana: You couldn't have seen that coming.

(Balan ignores her remark and keeps talking to Haoyu.)

Balan: I had no backup plan for when things went wrong. So, like a fool, I wasted all my savings on everything at once.

Emma: Is that why you're poor?

Balan: It is... And it's something I'll regret for the rest of my life.

(Haoyu saw himself in Balan. He was right. He didn't think things through before he took action. But he smiled at last.)

Haoyu: Well... There's this saying in my family when we do something wrong.

Balan: What is it?

Haoyu: Lesson learned.

(Balan smiled and hugged Haoyu another time. Haoyu even hugged him back.)

Leo: I'm sorry, Haoyu. You don't have to wash the windows if you don't want to. We all want you to be safe and secure. Tell you what, I'll clean the tall windows. There are others that are lower to the ground.

Haoyu: Thanks. I appreciate it. And Balan, thanks for the pep talk. You're a good listener.

(Balan smiled and ruffled Haoyu's hair before standing up again.)

Iben: Alright, everybody. Let's get back to work.

So here's the context

The theater is a lot cleaner, thanks to everybody pitching in. Some repairs still need to be done and windows to be washed. Luckily, the damage isn't severe. Just some paint chipping off and small holes in the wall. But let's focus on the stained glass windows first.

But just as they would do so, Haoyu refused to clean the tall windows. The reason why is that he's scared of heights.

Haoyu took his airplane for a science project out for a spin, but it wasn't aerodynamically fit to be in the sky. It was meant to be a decoration. So he fell out of the sky and hurt himself. That would explain his broken arm.

Balan is horrified that Haoyu got hurt so badly and how he was thankful to still be alive. They both even have a heart-to-heart chat about taking action before considering a backup plan. But as the saying goes, lesson learned.

Hopefully, the two will be much wiser about their future actions.

This is my Lonesome Maestro AU. When Balan's first show was a disaster, and everyone left him. He's become very lonely and sad due to no one being around. Until Leo and Emma showed up and try to change his life for the better.
