Summary:

A Descender along with Lumine and Aether, she grew up and traveled alongside the twins. When the three reached Teyvat, Ophelia felt like something was off and decided to wait for the twins while they explored this new world. After they failed to return, Ophelia went to find them herself, and she was immediately apprehended by the Heavenly Principles and remained dormant. She would wake up a bit after the Traveler and lay low until she reunites with them right after they start their journey (where she also meets Paimon). Ophelia was obviously distressed when she found out the Traveler's sibling was missing, and promised to stop at nothing until they were reunited and could finally leave together. Obviously, that wouldn't last long, as when the sibling is revealed to be part of the Abyss, her world shatters. This leaves both Descenders in shambles, and while the Traveler chose to bottle their feelings up as always, Ophelia chose to vent her complicated feelings by destroying every monster she could find for a while after the reveal, even though Dainsleif told them that the creatures of the Abyss were once human. She eventually calms down, but would act more hostile to the Abyss sibling whenever they're brought up.

Ever since she was little, Ophelia knew that her purpose was to protect the twins that took her in since she has no memories of her original colony. Since she is a "Guardian", Ophelia is not a force to be reckoned with, her only (canonical) loss being when going against the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles (note: she didn't participate in the initial battle with Ei during the 100th vision seizing ceremony, if she did, she probably would've lost :p). Ophelia believes it is her duty, her reason for existence, to make sure the Traveler makes it to see the next sunrise, and if they're hurt, she can never really shake that it was somehow her fault. When she learned about the Abyss sibling, her anger came from the betrayal of one of her closest friends being responsible for such horrendous actions and her self-hatred for not being there for them, even though that wouldn't be possible. Other than that, she tries to live her life to the fullest, creating bonds along her travels. She wouldn't trade spending every day with the Traveler and Paimon for anything, even though she was initially a little jealous when she thought the Traveler was trying to replace her with Paimon.

Even though she loves the Traveler very much, Ophelia sometimes feels like she is outshined by them, and dies a bit inside when residents of Teyvat sometimes don't know who she is. Although she has a lot of self-control, Ophelia sometimes goes a little too far in battle, especially when she's angry, to which Paimon and the Traveler a little concerned about. There was one incident where she beheaded a Lawachurl after dealing with a particularly annoying hilichurl camp, put the head on a stick, and put it on display for all the hilichurls (and unlucky explorers) to see.

In my story, the Traveler is Lumine, but I've been keeping it ambiguous up to here. Either one of the twins, Abyss or not, can be seen as Ophelia's love interest, but I personally try to pair her with the Abyss sibling because I'm a sucker for friends to enemies to lovers)

Normal: Foreign Galeswing

Skill: Stagnant Swirl

Placed a certain distance away, pulling in enemies and dealing Anemo DMG, disorienting enemies when the skill ends.

Burst: Storm Slash

Anemo Energy builds up around Ophelia, bursting soon after and dealing Anemo DMG with continuously swirling windblades.

Geo Powers

Normal: Foreign Stonestrike

Skill: Stalagmite Shock

Sharp precipices shoot up from the ground, dealing AoE Geo Damage.

Burst: Stalactite Barrage

Blades of stone appear and pierce enemies from above, dealing AoE Geo Damage and remaining in the ground even after said enemy has been defeated. These count as Geo constructs and can be climbed and block attacks.

Electro Powers

Normal: Foreign Sparkslice

Skill: Strikewave

A shockwave of Electro is released, dealing Electro DMG and generates an Abundance Amulet for every two enemies hit.

Burst: Piercing Shock

A small beam of Electro is shot at opponents that deal Electro DMG. The power of these beams increase the more Abundance Amulets are absorbed.

Dendro Powers

Normal: Foreign Tangletwirl

Skill: Might of Mistle

Multiple thorns are shot and will hone on enemies, dealing Dendro DMG.

Burst: Flaunting Flora

A large Dendro growth will appear and explode when left alone, dealing Dendro DMG. However if it comes into contact with:

Pyro, the growth will shoot out flaming seed pods that deal increased Dendro DMG

Hydro, the growth will have smaller buds burst from beneath enemies, dealing Dendro DMG

Electro, the growth will grow vines that'll stab through enemies, dealing Dendro DMG

Hydro Powers

Normal: Foreign Scaldstab

Skill: Searing Wake

Scalding torrents of water are aimed at enemies, dealing Hydro DMG and dealing more DMG if the target is Frozen.

Burst: Plunge of Peril

Ophelia jumps up with a burst of water, dealing Hydro DMG, and plunges back down, dealing more Hydro DMG and knocks opponents back.

FUN FACTS ABOUT THEM

As far as gender goes, Yesenia never really had it all figured out until they were in high school. They don’t ascribe to the traditional female gender, while they have, effectively, come out as a non-binary person. The closest Yesenia can describe it is, is just being genderfluid. They’ve gotten a good grasp of their identity, because it’s been a years-long process. Growing up in a society that is very conservative and traditional, they’ve realized that the gender binary was a destructive construct for them. As sexuality goes, they’re queer and demisexual. They’re pretty much attracted to people they can establish an emotional connection with first. Their mother was accepting when they revealed their pronouns and sexuality to them, and their dad came around after the initial shock.

Yesenia has an interest in the supernatural and would secretly love to witness someone actually getting possessed by a ghost or a demon. For science. They’re a big, big fan of Buzzfeed Unsolved and The Ghost Files. #boogara

Their is handwriting is incredibly messy and barely legible, and their cursive is even worse than that. They love writing notes for friends and family, but most of the time they can’t tell what’s been written so they’ll have to read it aloud to them.

They literally never sit properly in chairs. Usually tucks one leg under them and leaves the other to hang no matter where they are. Along with that, they’re usually bouncing their leg up and down much to someone’s annoyance.

They love tattoos.They’re most likely to ask a person the story that lies behind a specific inkling on their skin, if they’re able to see it. Also, they’ve got a few of their own and each of them have special meaning. They got their first tattoo at the age of sixteen, after forging their mother’s signature.

On their phone they have cookie jam, a game they won’t delete because they’re still working on passing a level they’ve been stuck on for a while. They also have words with friends. They’re also an avid user of Twitter, Tiktok, Snapchat, and Instagram.

A huge hockey fan. Yesenia lives for hockey. They follow stats, watches every game, has signed jerseys, and tries to get discounted tickets to see a game. They even played back when they were younger – on a team for several years, and with their friends and family when they went to their cabin where the lake was frozen over. It is something their family has always valued, and so they love it too. They’re a big Bruins fan and their favorite player is Patrice Bergeron.

Food is their kryptonite. Anyone who knows Yesenia knows that they are eating almost nonstop. They have a fast metabolism and feels hungry even an hour after they eat. Yesenia’s mom taught them to cook, so often when they eat it’s something intricate and high quality, or something fast and greasy like pizza.

From birth to age 19: Has lived with their parents in the countryside.

From age 19 to 22: Lived in a converted loft in the countryside.

From age 22 to present: Living in a downtown fixer upper with Stelly and Val.

Yesenia was born and raised in Merrock, Maine, so there's no doubt that they’re going to have friends in town. They have a large personality. They’re a creative, flighty, imaginative person. They speak loudly, boisterously and are not the type of person to go through life unnoticed. Because of all this, they are probably known by many and having grown up in town, there's probably classmates or neighbors that already know them. For friendships, they seek out those similar to them. People who love expressing themselves in different ways, people with a dark sense of humor.

Yesenia is the first to admit that they can be annoying as shit. They’re loud without realizing just how loud they are and don’t always know when to shut up. They can get on people’s nerves sometimes; it’s fair. Yesenia’s not everyone’s cup of tea. They can be a lot to handle. They themself tries not to let themself think about people that they don’t enjoy being around because they don’t want to let those kind of negative thoughts take up too much of their brain power. They’re very much of the mindset that if you don’t like someone, you shouldn’t bother yourself with them. They are as stubborn as a rock, and they don’t willingly admit that they’re wrong even when they’re completely aware that they are. Anyone who challenges them gets placed on their naughty list (unless you're one of the few really close to them), and they can be quite the ass to those they don’t like. Mess with their family or friends and you're in trouble because they’ll be coming after you.

Someone out there has got to love them, right? They’re a people person. They’re probably the person who literally always goes over ‘being nice isn’t flirting’ with people. Yesenia is constantly plagued with the idea that they’ll never been good enough for anyone, and that because they’ve never been in a relationship before. Dating isn’t easy, needless to say. Sometimes they get discouraged, and aren’t always willing to take the time to put themself out there in that way. But they’re a romantic person at heart, and very caring when given the opportunity. They want nothing more than to be someone who is needed.

Right now, they’re just trying to enjoy themself, they’ve been openly queer since their teen years, so they have experiences with all kinds of people, they don’t really have a preference, it’s more about vibing with the person.

WANTED CONNECTIONS

BEST FRIEND - Soulmates don’t have to be romantic, you know? They love each other but it’s completely platonic. It’s pretty rare that you find one without the other.

CHILDHOOD FRIENDS - They met when they were younger in and they were best friends, and either still are or aren’t.

RAIN AND SHINE - They’re very unlikely friends, but somehow they are because they really balance each other out.

TENTATIVE FRIENDS - They get along well and they are friends, but there are some things that put a damper on their friendship from reaching exponential levels.

SPORTS FRIENDS - You can always find Yesenia watching the big games at the bars. They especially love to watch ice hockey and baseball. They’ll want friends who they can debate teams with, or just go and play some ball with.

BIG ENEMIES - For whatever reason, they absolutely cannot stand each other.

FRENEMIES - They act like they’re friends for the sake of the town, but really, they can’t stand each other.

SWOLEMATES - They go to the gym together and hype each other up to get through their daily work outs. Yesenia is a big, big fan of boxing.

ada wordsworth; fc: zoe love smith. 25ish. she/they.

ada's not human. ada's family was taking a vacation from their planet and her father's ship crash landed on earth, in england, and they've been sort of hiding in plain sight for the past ... fifteen years. they landed when they were eleven years old. she appears humanoid so it hasn't been much of an issue. her planet was pretty small and their main export were ships - both very technically advanced boats and spaceships. they can't get off of earth because they cannot get their hands on advanced enough technology. ada's been here since she was eleven so ... does she even want to leave anymore? maybe not permanently. thinks she can fly any spaceship. likes to tinker with stuff. fascinated with history and museums.

sophia keener. fc: kathryn newton. 17 - 20ish, she/her

the younger sister of m/arvel's harley ke/ener. she watched her brother (munchie's harley, over at goldshadows) get dusted when she was twelve, and when he came back five years later, she was seventeen and he came back at seventeen. genius in her own rights, though certainly not as obviously as harley is. into the living sciences like biology, ecology. developed an interest in prosthetics when her brother lost his hand. has ptsd and panic attacks. enjoys sour candy and causing problems. has a verse where she moonlights as iron gal while her brother is iron pal.

robin rockwell. fc: liana liberato. 17-20ish. she/her

energy manipulator, developed the power at around 13. abilities include draining energy from others by touch, then can create energy based attacks with this energy as well as telekinesis. the former leaves her exhausted. struggling to control her ability to drain energy through touch, so tends to isolate herself. learns she has two older half siblings who also have abilities, both who are missing. intends to find them, moved to a boarding school at 17 in the same city they were last seen in. has this amazing father who raised her on his own.
