Brian May x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
Actress Name - A/N
When news reached Brian about the making of Bohemian Rhapsody, you were interested. You wanted to see how to portrayed him, and who would be the young him… and you were slightly curious if there was going to be someone who’d play the young you. You were more than well known. You’ve been Y/N May since the 70s! You were a relative crucial part of Queen and Brian’s life. When Brian got sent the script, he didn’t say anything. He flipped open to a page and merely handed it you. Y/N May
You would be in the movie! And quite a journey that was. The actors did a wonderful job recreating a lot of the scenes and concerts. And something even more interesting, meeting Gwilym Lee. He was a striking image of young Brian. He learned to talk like him, stand like him, make the same gestures and learned to play the guitar like him. What made everything that much more uncanny, the young actress playing you and Gwilym were seen falling in love the way you and Brian did.
It was clear that it was no longer just a friend thing. Gwilym was seen flirting, trying in any way to touch her.
“Have it noticed it, darling?” You asked one afternoon on set. They were spending a few hours going through rehearsals for the Live Aid performance. “Noticed what, Y/N?” “Look at him. Gwil and that young lady.” Brian looked up to the stage and noticed Gwilym talking to the A/N. She was leaning back against the piano, wide smile and laughing at whatever it was that the charming actor was saying to her. “She’s much like you.” Brian said nonchalantly. “Exactly what I’m saying. That girl is head over heels for him. You should ask him about it.”
Ask about it, he did. A/N was called off the Live Aid set to go film something else so Brian went to Gwilym. “Hello, Gwil.” “Oh hello, Brian.” Gwilym lay the copy Red Special down in his lap.
“I had question. An inquiry, really. Do you fancy A/N? You seem to be getting close.”
Gwilym’s face went a shade of red. “Uh, A/N and I are good friends. Nothing after that.”
“You know, that’s what I said about Y/N. She and I have a similar story to you and that young woman. I think it’d be a wonderful thing should you take her to dinner.”
“How is this like you and Y/N?” Gwilym was trying to steer away from the topic, and Brian knew, but he’d entertain him.
“She and I met back early in the 60s. Wow, such a long time ago. She was an actress back in university and I was to take part in her student film. I, much like you, Gwil, was doing whatever I could to garner her attention, like you are now. We got married in the 70s, when Queen was such a small thing.”
Gwilym smiled and tucked his hands into his lap. “I mean I do like A/N but I don’t think she really she really sees me the same way.”
“You’ll never know, if you don’t ask.”
“Thank you, Brian.”
“Of course, Gwilym.” And with that, Brian got up and left. He made his way back to you, explaining the story.
“You told him ours?” You asked.
“It was the only way he’d take A/N.”
Later that month, Gwilym called the house asking for Brian. You passed off the phone but waited next to him. Brian was smiling and said “that’s great!” Before hanging up.
“What happened?” You asked.
“Oh, Gwilym is going out with A/N.”
“How sweet.”

Birthday, Ben Hardy
Tumblr media
That gif, whoo 😮‍💨
Word Count: 1.2k~
Birthday parties are better when you're in your twenties rather than your childhood years, and no one can argue that. Instead of small games being played, there are thorough discussions being held. Alcohol and coffee replace sugar-filled juices, and the cakes are better tasting rather than crazily decorated. Plus, as a child, the people who attend those parties might not be there for you in the future; however, as an adult, the people who attend these parties are more likely to be there until the end.
Seeing as Ben was turning twenty-nine, I knew I had to hold a small party for him. We had been together for four years and married for only one of them; however, during those years of loving each other, I found that Ben never celebrated his birthday the way most people do. Some people go drinking or have a party, or some even go on holiday. Ben, on the other hand, celebrated it as if it were another day. I was determined that this particular year had to be celebrated one way or another.
"The guys seem to be having a good time out there," Lucy notes as she moves to stand next to me in the kitchen. Looking around the kitchen wall, I smile seeing Ben joking around with his friends, all of them from his most recent movie. I could tell when the movie was finished that he was proud of it and happy that he had found such great friends while doing it. Even though I wasn't in the film, I also gained a few friends through it as well as a best friend - Lucy.
"They do, don't they?" I ask her, moving back to stand in front of the counter once again. Unboxing the golden sparkly candles, I smile back at Lucy before taking a few and placing them over the cake I just finished decorating. "I'm glad they're all having a good time."
"What made you want to throw Ben a party?" Lucy asks, taking a couple of candles from the box and decorating the cake with me. "Because I think it was a fantastic idea on your part."
Lightly laughing at her compliment, I quickly thank her before answering. "For all of the years we've been together, he's never really celebrated his birthday," I explain, "One year, we went out to dinner, but that's it. Not to mention the fact that he's thrown a party for me with my friends and family members for every year we've been together," I add on, smirking. "This year, I decided that he needed a party for himself finally."
Smiling, Lucy nods and takes more candles from the box. "Now, what made you want to bake him a salted caramel cake?" She asks another question, making me raise an eyebrow at her. I didn't tell her that was the flavor of the cake, so how does she know? "I hope you don't mind, but I snuck some frosting from the bag earlier when you went to rally the boys in the yard."
We both laugh at her words, loving the fact that we're close enough as best friends that we can joke around like that and steal frosting from piping bags like children.
"I asked him, 'chocolate or vanilla?' And he told me to surprise him," Nodding toward the cake, I smile. "So, I chose to make him a vanilla cake with salted caramel frosting and drizzle between the layers," I explain, glancing at the clock on the stove. "In a few minutes, we'll have the boys go into the dining room, and I'll bring out Ben's cake before lighting the candles."
Once Lucy and I finish decorating the cake with the candles and more caramel drizzle, she gathers the boys in mine and Ben's dining room before I bring out the cake. It makes me smile seeing Ben surrounded by people who love him. Brian and his wife stand off to the corner while Gwil and his fiancée stay seated at the far end of the table. Lucy is seated on the right side of the table with Rami standing behind her, his hands gently resting on her shoulders as soft smiles linger on both of their faces. Meanwhile, Joe sits at the other side of the table, eagerly waiting for a slice of the cake, going by the anticipation written all over his face. Although, it makes me smile even more when I see Ben practically light up as I enter the room.
Placing the cake down at the end of the table where Ben sits, I quickly light up the candles as everyone sings Happy Birthday to him. It isn't long until I feel my husband wrap his arms around me and pull me onto his lap, still singing Happy Birthday as I look over at him to see him wearing a smile I haven't seen in a while.
Once the song is over, everyone watches in anticipation for Ben to blow out his candles, but instead of doing that, he looks at me once more. "Will you blow out the candles with me, love?" He asks, making me smile at him with a blush. "We are getting old with each other, so it seems right."
With a giggle, I nod and we both turn our heads to blow the candles out, applause sounding through the slightly crowded room as we do so. "You guys are so sickening," Joe teases, making everyone, including Ben and I, laugh at his comment.
"You're just jealous," Ben jokes back, his arm around me tightening. This comment earns more laughter and a playful shrug from Joe. Just like Lucy and I, the guys all have a close enough relationship to joke around like children as well.
Despite Ben's protests, I remove myself from his lap and stand to cut a slice of cake for our friends, earning sounds of approval from everyone as they take a bite.
"(Y/n), you did excellent on this cake," Gwil says as soon as he tastes the treat. Looking down at his slice of cake, he smiles with a sigh. "Well," He starts. "There goes my diet," he mutters, his fianceé nodding in agreeance as they both dig in. We all chuckle at his comment before Joe speaks up.
"We were supposed to have one?" Joe questions his friend, making all of us shake our heads and laugh at his silliness.
"I quit those things long ago," Brian admits with a simple wave of his hand, causing us all to laugh even more at his raw honesty.
"The cake is absolutely wonderful, love," Ben compliments, leaning up to kiss my cheek with his soft lips. "Thank you, my darling."
His comments make me smile and blush once again, feeling his sweet words squish my heart to death. We've loved each other for so long, and no matter what, his words always affect me. I just can't help but feel every ounce of love this man has for me, and I hope he feels the love I have for him as well.
Once everyone has finished their cake, we all head back into the living room where Ben opens the gifts everyone got for him. Every gift received made Ben smile or laugh as each had a different meaning. Rami got him a new hoodie - similar to the one I have to argue with Ben just to wash it. Next, Roger got him a pair of drumsticks with his name and birthday engraved on them. Gwil got him a few books, as did Brian, while Joe got him something completely different.
"Sweet!" Ben notes, taking the video game from the gift bag before looking over the expertly designed cover. "I have been wanting this one for a while," He adds on, Joe smiling proudly at his gift-giving skills. Ben then looks up at me as I lean over the back of the couch, watching beside him as he opens each gift. "You'll play this with me, right?"
Ben's question makes me grin before nodding, leaning closer to kiss the side of his blond hair-covered head. "Of course, love," I assure him, watching him light up like earlier. "Anything you want."
With a soft smile, I peck his lips again before walking to the kitchen to grab a pair of scissors for the next gift. Lucy decided to get him a new pair of sneakers for soccer, but she also decided to wrap the entire package in a combination of zip ties and duck tape. It doesn't help that I gave her the idea for the gift wrapping in the first place, but Ben doesn't have to know that.
Opening the utensil drawer, I move spatulas and spoons around, trying to find the item Ben will need. Taking the green kitchen scissors into my hand, I move to walk back into the living room; however, Gwil's voice from the living room causes me to pause and listen in.
"You must fall in love with her more and more every day, huh?" The man asks whom I assume is Ben, making me confusedly smile. Why is he asking that?
"Of course," I hear Ben's deep voice respond, making my heart beat rapidly as my smile grows. The blush I had on my cheeks returns as I peer around the kitchen doorway, only to be greeted by Ben's green eyes staring straight back at me as he continues smiling happily. "How could I not?"

I wrote this awhile ago (thanks to @mccorky for the idea) and then figured I should post it today in honour of Brian’s birthday :)
“Whoa!” Sami hops and down and then runs into the storage room, almost immediately disappearing behind a stack of boxes. “There’s so much stuff in here!”
“There is,” Ben says, and then he looks at Brian. “Sorry, no offence.”
“None taken,” Brian says. “There certainly is. I don’t throw anything away.”
“Be careful, habibi,” Rami says, shifting Rosemary in his arms. “Don’t knock anything over.”
“I won’t!”
“So much stuff,” Joe says under his breath. “We gotta get Ben to open a museum for you, Brian,” he says, clapping him on the back. “We can turn all of this into an exhibit.”
“I don’t think that’s necessary,” Brian says. “But you’re welcome to whatever books or anything else that you can find.” That’s why they’d come here in the first place; Brian had mentioned old books that he had packed away, and both Sami and Gwil had perked right up at the thought of getting to read something cool and old. Of course Ben and Rami were on board too. Joe was mostly there for the company.
“Papa, come look!” Sami exclaims from somewhere, hidden in the depths of the storage room.
“Okay, coming,” Joe says, and he smiles at the others before he heads in.
“As much stuff as it is,” Brian says, “everything should be clearly labeled. Dig in.”
“I know I will,” Gwil says, and he heads over to look at a box of magazines. “Anything I still haven’t caught up on—”
“You will find it in here,” Brian says. He looks at Rami and snaps his fingers. “I know I’ve got some old mystery novels.”
“Well, I certainly won’t say no,” Rami says. “Will we, Rosie? No, we won’t.” He kisses her cheek and follows Brian.
“Really though,” Ben says, looking around. “What are you going to do with all this?”
“What we’re doing now,” Brian says. “Take what you want.”
“Sure,” Ben says. “Let me see what I can find.” He joins Rami and Rosemary. Rami’s sorting through the books, creating two piles, presumably one to take and one to leave. One pile is already noticeable larger than the other, and knowing Rami, Ben assumes that’s the one to take.
“Careful, Bear,” Joe says from the corner. “That thing’s bigger than you.”
“Ugh, it’s not a bug, is it?” Rami asks.
“Look at this!” Sami exclaims, and they all look towards him— or the sound of him. It takes a few more seconds before he actually comes into view from behind all the boxes, awkwardly carrying a guitar. Well, half-carrying it. Joe’s got a hand on it as well, just in case Sami drops it.
“Careful,” Joe says again. “Got it?” He still doesn’t take his hand off, though.
“Look at that,” Gwil says, pushing his glasses up. “Whose is that?”
“Mine, of course.”
“Look at that, Rosie,” Rami says. “Isn’t that nice.”
“That’s posh,” Ben says. “Did you play?”
“Oh, years ago,” Brian says. “Why do you think this is in storage?”
“Let Brian see it,” Joe says.
“Oh, he can hold it,” Brian says. “Sit down, I’ll show you how.” There’s a fairly sturdy box that can hold Sami’s weight, so he sits down and holds the guitar in his arms. “Wow, who taught how to hold a guitar?”
“I see it on the computer,” Sami says. “Oh, and Papa’s music.”
“Right on,” Brian says. He crouches down in front of Sami. “Now, I’m right-handed, so this is a right-handed guitar. If you were going to play— well, since you’re left-handed, you’d have to decide how you wanted to play it. That’s a big decision.”
“There are different hands for guitars?” Sami asks.
“There are,” Brian says. “So, you could play a left-handed guitar. Or a right-handed guitar. Or a right-handed guitar strung upside down.”
“I don’t know what that means,” Sami says, and Brian chuckles.
“We’ll hold it like a right-handed guitar for now,” Brian says. “It’s just for fun. Then do you know what to do?”
“Like this,” Sami says, and he strums the strings a couple times.
“Brilliant,” Ben says.
“Here.” Brian gently guides Sami’s fingers into position, and holds them into place. “Now strum. There we go. And now this one, let’s try E minor.”
“That’s cool,” Sami says. “But it hurts my fingers.”
“Your hands are pretty small, Bear,” Joe says. “And that’s a grown-up guitar.”
“Maybe Brian should show us something then,” Gwil says. “See how it’s done.”
“Yeah!” Sami says enthusiastically. “Will you?”
“Oh, it’s been awhile,” Brian says.
“Please?” Sami asks. “Just one thing.”
Brian smiles at him. “Alright, let me see.” He takes the guitar from Sami and stands up straight. “Any requests?”
“Wonderwall?” Joe asks, and Ben grins. Even though he was joking, Brian starts playing it with ease.
“Wow, that’s good,” Rami says.
“I like it,” Sami says.
“You can do something harder,” Joe says.
“Oh, probably,” Brian says, and he starts playing Fleetwood Mac, quickly picking at the strings.
“Oh wow,” Rami says, gently rubbing Rosemary’s back. “Sami, look at that.”
“He’s good,” Sami says.
“You didn’t tell us you were a rockstar,” Joe says.
“Just for fun,” Brian says, and he hands the guitar back to Sami. “You can have it, if you want.”
“We can’t take that,” Rami says.
“Well, I’ll just hold onto it for you then,” Brian says. “Until you grow into it.”
“What sorts of music did you play?” Gwil asks.
“Were you in a band?” Ben asks.
“Let me look,” Brian says, and he goes off in search for one of the many boxes.
“Take her, would you?” Rami asks, handing Rosemary over to Joe. “I need to get a better look at these books.”
“Geez, babe, how many are you taking?”
“I can put them in the Little Library once I’m done with them.”
“Hmm.” Joe gently bounces Rosemary up and down in his arms. “Aren’t you going to have some fun bedtime stories, Bug.”
“Here we go,” Brian says, and he hands a scrapbook over to Gwil. Ben leans against Gwil’s arm, and watches him flip through old photos of Brian and his friends.
“You look so cool,” Ben says.
“Your hair hasn’t changed,” Gwil says, and he looks up at Brian with a smile.
“Of course not,” Brian says. “Why mess with perfection?”
“Hmm, fair enough,” Gwil murmurs, and Ben grins.
Sami keeps examining the guitar, and strums the strings a few more times. “Brian? Can you show me some more? Please?”
“Duty calls, lads,” Brian says, and he pats Ben on the arm as he walks by. “Feel free to keep looking.”
“Oh, we definitely will,” Gwil says, and he nudges Ben before flipping through the next page.
“Wow, look at those trousers,” Ben says.
“Tight.”
“Very.”
Joe hurries over. “Let me see?”
Ben tries not laugh, but he tilts the scrapbook towards him anyway.
“Oh, very nice.”

AHHHH I read day one of kinktober and I LOVE IT plus when I saw that it's with Ben I FREAKED OUT 💀 But anyways I got 2 questions at what times will you post the stories and with who are you writing them with? Will there be any with brian or roger? Or even gwilym and Joe? More Ben? Aaaahhhhh I'm so excited 💀
thank you darl, glad you liked it!
At the moment I think I'll just be posting them whenever I get the chance - my work schedule varies a bit each day so it'll be when I remember rather than a set time lmao. I will aim to get them up in the mornings (my timezone is AEST) But if I get some more written so that I'm a few days ahead I might schedule them in my queue to make it a bit easier.
And I'll be writing for all the people I still write for - Roger, Ben, Gwil, Lucy, and Pedro Pascal. I've tried to spread them all out and give each of them roughly an even number of prompts.

I’ve got a Brian blurb idea! His girlfriend being quite shy with their affection in front of the band so they usually just keep it to little pecks and cuddles in front of them, but one night when her and Brian are alone she’s on his lap making out with him and kissing his neck but the boys end up interrupting and tease them both and Brian thinks it’s cute how embarrassed she gets :) please! I saw you want more Brian requests :)
Warning: Handsy make out session, one or two sex jokes/references.

The boys had finally made their way out of the studio for the night, leaving you and Brian to pack up the special. He was tired. You could see it in his eyes as he plopped down on the couch, patting his thighs lightly as if to say, "Come sit."
You smiled to yourself. You'd always been shy about PDA, your face going pink at the slightest peck on the cheek or lingering hug. Brian respected this completely, but couldn't help but want to hold you closer to him the moment you were alone again.
Slowly, you wandered over to the couch, straddling his legs to sit in his lap. You nuzzled your face into his neck, letting him run his hands up and down your thighs.
"Tired?" You mumbled, smiling.
Brian groaned, letting his forehead fall to your shoulder. "Exhausted." He was quiet for a moment, enjoying the smell of your shampoo. "Missed you."
You felt him leaving little kisses against your neck. Smirking to yourself, you pulled back, nudging your nose against his. "Missed you too."
He grinned, kissing you sweetly.
You let your hands wander into Brian's curls, tugging them gently. He groaned, rocking you against his hips, pulling a little gasp from you as he gripped at your thighs. His head tipped back with pleasure as you moved to bite and suck along his thoat. He moaned at the feeling, bringing a smirk to your face as you dragged your tongue across his skin. He had just let his hand slip under your shirt, kneading at your breast, when the studio door flew open. Neither of you noticed for a moment, and you continued your assault on the sensitive skin of his neck until Freddie waltzed into the room.
You jumped, eyes wide upon the realization that the boys had just seen you sucking Brian's throat...grinding against him with his hand up your shirt. Your face went beet red, and you immediately buried it in Brian's chest as Roger gave a cat call. Brian chuckled, rubbing your back soothingly.
The boys wooped and giggled, bounding into the studio as you hid your face against Brian, mortified. It was as if you were a turtle, curling up and hiding away the moment you were startled.
Freddie laughed heartily, "Not so shy behind closed doors is she Brian?"
You groaned, ears going even hotter as Brian held you close.
Roger grinned, "I'm just glad you didn't have your mouth somewhere else, love. Don't know if I'd ever be able to unsee it if Brian had out his-"
John shoved Roger's arm, "That's rich coming from you." He teased. "Like we haven't seen far more of you than we ever cared to see."
Brian mumbled to you sweetly as the boys laughed, an amused grin on his face.
"You alright?"
You nodded, refusing to move your face.
Freddie smiled, grabbing some papers off the sound board, "Well I, for one, am proud of you darling. Seems like you were doing a bloody good job. Brian seemed very pleased."
The singer winked and Brian rolled his eyes, hand still stroking up and down your spine, soothingly. "It's alright, sweetheart..." He coaxed gently. You shook your head, content to stay buried against Brian's chest forever if it meant the boys would never see your red face.
"Quite sorry we bothered you, darling. Just forgot my notes.  Please, don't mind us."
Roger snorted, grinning wickedly. "Yeah, by all means, carry on!"
Freddie broke out in laughter again as Brian kissed your forehead, a smile on his face as he tucked some hair behind your ear.
"Alright, alright." John chuckled, noticing how mortified you were in Brian's lap. "Let's leave them to it, then."
Freddie gave a sweet wave as the band made their way out of the room, calling out to Brian one last time before he closed the studio door. "Use protection!"
Brian chuckled as the room went quiet again, giving your hip a squeeze. "They're gone. You can come out, little turtle. You're safe."
You glanced up at Brian, brows raised. He giggled, pressing a little kiss to your flushed, pink nose.
"There she is." He cooed, smiling warmly.
You scrunched your nose, "I'm never going to be able to face them. I'll never show my face in this studio ever again."
Brian laughed, pecking your lips. "I don't know about that." He mumbled, not bothering to move his lips from yours. "I'd miss you far too much."

Falling the Right Way
Brian May x fem!Reader
Warnings: Use of the f-word once other than that i can't remember any
Time: Smile era
_______________________________________________
Tumblr media
I need to be more careful, I thought as I looked at my legs that were bruised at multiple places. I touched the bruise that was just below my knee, it was new. I’m going to name it Gary. I always did that naming the bruises, it helped me keep track of each one of them, and by far there were 6 older bruises on my right leg and 4 on my left. Sighing, I get up to make myself a cup of tea, but no sooner had I left the couch, my roommate, Mary entered the room abruptly scaring the shit out of me. The shock caused me to fall for probably the fiftieth time that day. I fell on my knees and as I landed on the wooden floor hard, and I felt a sharp pain shoot through it. It’s going to be bruised and this one will be Martha.
"Thank you for that Mary, as if I hadn't fallen down enough of times today already" I say rolling my eyes as I get up. "Oh! Sorry Y/N, didn't mean to scare you, but my boyfriend and his bandmates are going to come over in like 15 minutes, so will you help clean up this place?" she asked, "Yeah alright I will, is it that chap, what was his name, Freddie, right?" "Yes" she says blushing slightly, "Will you please interrogate me later and help me clean this mess?" she says pointing at the couch, which was covered in blankets. I nodded and started to clear out the couch while she started with the cups left on the coffee table by it.
As I was about to finish with the last blanket, there was a knock on the door, Mary looked at me and said with a little smile, "I'll get that." I roll my eyes and lightly shake my head. She’s in love already. I gather the blanket and quickly go to my room almost falling again and just dump it on my bed for now. I was going to use it for the night anyways. I shrug and go back out, where everyone had already taken a seat and started a conversation. "Really, darling I have a feeling tonight's gig is going to be a good one, I can smell it." Says the man with dark brown hair, wide eyes and a weird set of teeth who was standing next to Mary with an arm around her waist. "Well it maybe- oh! I totally forgot, boys this is Y/N, my roommate, and Y/N, this is Freddie, my boyfriend." She says, gesturing towards the man.
I give him a smile, "So, you are the one Mary doesn't stop talking about, nice to meet you." I say as I extend my hand. Freddie takes it and looks at Mary with a slight smirk, while Mary glares at me. I wink at her and go towards the kitchen to make myself that cup of tea I was planning to make, "Um, I’m going to make myself some tea, do you guys want something?" "Uh, no thank you." Says the man with long curly hair and a small smile, which made him look like a cute poodle. I shrug and go in the kitchen slowly, trying not to fall, at least when there are other people in the house and especially when one of them is very attractive. As I made the tea, everyone got back to their conversation.
It took me roughly 10 glances towards the curly haired cute guy, whose name I found out from the conversations, was Brian and 2 minutes of panic if he may have caught me looking at him, to finish the tea and pour it in my cup. Taking the cup in hand, I started walking towards the living room where everyone else was. The only place available to sit was next to the table, across from Mary and next to Brian. I made my way to the chair, but my legs decide to give out right when I was about to sit, and I nearly fall. I grabbed a hold of the table to stabilize myself, but that doesn’t stop me from spilling the tea on Brian's shirt. "FUCK!" he jumps up and starts to gently blow on the hot liquid which was now on his shirt.
"Oh my God! Y/N darling, are you okay?" Freddie asks me with his voice laced with concern, I’m very much sure by now my face had become as red as a tomato because of the embarrassment, "Yeah, I’m fine, but Brian I am so terribly sorry!" "Y/N, its fine, it is not that bad." "No, please I am incredibly sorry, why don't you go clean yourself up?" "Okay, I can do that. Mind leading the way?" Brian asks. I give him a small smile, still guilty, and start walking towards the restroom at the end of the hallway with Brian walking behind me. I stop in front of it and make way for him to go in, still kinda embarrassed. He breathes out a small ‘thank you’ and steps inside, closing the door behind him. I stand there and wait while thinking of different ways to say sorry to Brian, after I nearly burnt him with my tea. After what felt like an hour, Brian came out of the restroom. He turned towards the living room and was about to start walking when I called out for him. He turned around and looked a little surprised to still see me there, "Uh hey, I am sorry for that really, I am just really clumsy and my knees just buckle at the most unexpected times." "No, it's fine really it wasn’t your fault anyways." Brian says as he rubs the back of his neck "Okay fine but still, I have to make it up to you, I ruined your shirt." I say motioning my hand towards the stain which looked like it was not going to leave anytime soon. "Y/N, you really don't have to." "Brian I want to, so why don't you let me take you out for a coffee or something, my treat." Brian looked up as if he was thinking, "Yeah alright, how about this Friday after Uni?" "Yeah that sounds good" I say with a smile.
Real smooth Y/N, real smooth.

Sorry if you've already answered this question before it I'm really curious. What made you choose Perth as a place to set your fic, like with the IIS? I love the fic and I love how detailed you are but sorry again if you already answered this ages ago.
firstly, I love questions so even if I had answered this a million times, don’t apologize! it was awesome to see that I had an ask this morning ☺️ thank you!
secondly, no, I don’t think anyone has ever asked before! I only wish that I knew where my notebook was from the early days of ITBASM to answer this well, it’s been awhile.
I will say, I had not been to Perth and I still haven’t been to Perth (though I do hope to go over sometime in the next few years) so it wasn’t a personal affinity for it specifically. My main considerations at the start were mostly, “where is secluded enough that the Mercury could be built and take off from without large groups of people noticing?” Obviously, in hypothetical 1930s UK, there would be a LOT of green space. So, the piece I can’t remember exactly is why I chose the Cairngorms specifically over any other chunk of land, though I remember googling national parks in the UK for location ideas. I think I knew I didn’t want it to be Ireland because I wanted the characters to just zip around on trains and not have to fly every time they go to London. But I don’t know why I didn’t pick Wales, or anything other place. My best guess would be that I had just been to Edinburgh so I’m sure that was an influence.
Once I decided on the Cairngorms as the place where the Mercury was going to take off from and where Gwil and Rami did their training, then I really just looked at a map of it and picked a spot in the park that I thought looked best to have a training centre: close to some roads, but also pretty far away, in the south to be nearer to Edinburgh. Then Perth was just the closest city to that spot. Dundee was a little further out, and a little bigger, so I liked the idea of Rami and Gwil and the others living in this smaller city, near the training centre, where every day everyone could be driven in together, but still on a major railway where they could travel home to see family.
The things about Brian May’s mum being from Perth, and a train from Perth crashing in the 1950s, I didn’t find them out until after I’d already started writing.
I didn’t always know that the story would end with them moving back to Perth (I had other places in mind originally) but I knew for awhile before it actually happened in the story. Then I just needed to get them there.

The last few months you were beaming, everything was looking up, the world seemed like a perfect place, nothing could get you down. You were happy, and the ring box hiding in your shared dresser sock drawer made you even happier, he hadn't asked yet but you were thrilled. You had confided in your close friend and castmate Joe Mazzello about your secret finding. You didn't want to bore Gwil and Ben and you didn't want to seem like you were bragging that you weren't single and they were. Besides Lucy, who practically guessed it, was out of town, and you were just too excited to keep it to yourself. That left Joe, who was in his own relationship of a year or so to confess your findings. He was also ecstatic and happy for you. Of course, he accidentally hinted at it in conversations with the rest of the group. Joe was never the best one at keeping secrets, especially when they were super exciting and revolved around someone everybody loved. Pretty much the entire cast of Bohemian Rhapsody knew that Sam, your boyfriend was going to propose. Thankfully they didn’t let it slip to the press, which never ended well.
Well, that was a few months ago. Now you were utterly crushed. Hot red anger coursed through your body as you tried to figure out what was going on and how you could have been so blind. You had found out on Thursday and today was Saturday, however you would have to hide your anger and maybe get a little drunk tonight when you hung out with the BoRhap cast. It's not like you could cancel, you guys rarely had the chance to hang out together anymore. Especially now that awards season had been over for a few months now. Plus you knew Joe would want someone to get drunk with after his unfortunate very public breakup with his girlfriend. So you pulled on a short dress and some heels and lazily did your makeup, you didn't care enough to try tonight. It wasn't like you were trying to get anyone's attention, it clearly didn't work when you had tried.
Once you showed up to the pub you walked straight to the bar and downed a shot of tequila to calm down. The fire in the back of your throat perfectly matched your rage. But you couldn’t relish in the feeling for long.
"Starting already I see," Ben teased as he joined you at the bar.
You shot him a glare, half kidding, half warning him to back off.
"Your the one to talk," you laughed as you saw him down his own shot. You joined him to the booth in the back, which was your group's regular spot. Soon the rest of the cast joined in and began talking and sipping alcoholic beverages. Excitement buzzed as you all caught up with each other's lives. And as expected Joe was diving right into the alcohol, 3 shots down before the ordered burgers arrived. You, on the other hand, were still slowly nursing a glass of scotch. Scotch was never your go-to drink and you didn't really like it, and yet, you didn't think twice about ordering it. Maybe because it seemed to fit your mood. Gwil made a teasing comment about it and you laughed with him and dove into your own conversation. Soon the topic of relationships came up and both you and Joe stiffened and you subconsciously reached for Joe. You patted his thigh reassuringly, knowing that he had no idea that you felt the same way. He returned a tightlipped smile and went on about the paparazzi making it worse than it actually was.
"Y/N, what about you and Sam? Is there going to be a ring anytime soon?" Gwil asked harmlessly, trying to lighten the mood after Joe's somber comment.
"Yeah, just not on my finger," You scoffed downing the rest of your drink quickly to stop your mouth from running. You were aware that you sounded like a bitch, but you didn’t really want to talk about.
"What do you mean? You said last time that you thought Sam was going to propose, you saw the box," Joe asked turning towards you concerned.
"Well it wasn't for me," You answered curtly.
"You said no? I thought you wanted--" Lucy asked trying to understand.
"Oh, I wanted too, The ring... The ring wasn't for me," You said looking away, the familiar sensation of tears stung at your eyes, but you forbade them to fall.
"You mean--" Gwil opened his mouth to say something but couldn't find the words. Nobody said anything for what felt like an eternity but was only a few seconds. Bens jaw clenched as he understood what had happened.
“My god, I’m sorry Y/N,”
"I don't want to talk about it, him or her," You said looking anywhere but your friends. They were all as heartbroken and arguably just as angry as you were. You and Sam had been amazing together, always happy, even the fans were supportive, which is rare. You guys had also been together for 3 years, which is a long time. Well, only 2 years if you don't count the year that he had been sleeping with the other woman. Awkwardly the conversation shifted to work and new gigs. You and Joe sat sourly not joining in on the conversation. Your eyes scanned the bar in order to keep your mind from drifting. Unfortunately, that meant you caught a glimpse at the man responsible for your anger in the back. The nerve of him to go to your favorite pub days after angered you further.
"Excuse me," You said suddenly interrupting the current conversation and began climbing over Joe who was blocking you in the shared booth. Joe tried to object and apologize but you just grabbed his glass of beer and stormed over to the corner where your ex was, with his fiancee. The rest of your friends immediately scrambled out of their seats to follow and stop you before you could do anything stupid.
You hurled the contents of the glass at Sam, then deciding that wasn't enough you threw the glass at him too. It shattered on impact. The second after the glass left your hand Joe's arms hooked across your waist and almost violently pulled you back before you could do anything else. Ben stopped Sam from retaliating by placing a firm hand on his chest. It took everything in him not to deck the guy for himself. Hot angry tears streamed down your face as you said nothing. Your mascara was probably messed up but you could care less, you were too worried about what your friends would think. You were always the cool, calm and orderly person in fights and you rarely lashed out unless you were really upset. And you were clearly upset.
"I'm going home,"  You said quietly not bothering to wipe the tears away. You had become quite embarrassed of your actions and started walking out.
"I'll take her home," Joe added immediately after, running to catch up with you.
The rest just nodded understandingly, knowing Joe was the best person to make sure you were okay. There was no denying that you guys were close. But you had been with Sam for so long before you met so there were no jokes about you guys getting together. Well, some of the fans thought you guys would be cute but most were respectful of your current relationship. Lucy was the next closest but Lucy was stunned and almost as angry as you, Rami and Gwil both stepped in front of her so she couldn't get her own swing in. If she wasn't too preoccupied in getting revenge for you, she would have taken you home. But Joe was just as capable and would make sure you were okay, truly okay.
You still hadn't stopped crying by the time you were sitting on your apartment couch with Joe getting a glass of water from the kitchen.
"Y/N," he started, gently guiding your chin upwards so you would look at him. Your eyes were bloodshot which just broke his heart even more.
"I'm sorry I brought it up, I didn't know, or else I never would've asked," He breathed out searching for any emotion in your face.
"Joe," You said your voice barely above a whisper, causing him to lean closer.
"I'm sorry too, for being a mess and throwing your drink," you said looking down away from his gaze, your's ending on his lips, which moved slightly in trying to formulate a response.
"Y/n, god don't apologize for that," he laughed weakly his own gaze darting to your lips. Hesitation and anticipation filled his entire body as you both leaned closer. Waiting for some sort of sign.
"Don't apologize for anything, ever," Joe said breathlessly, looking up at you.
In an instant your lips were connected, tongues fighting for space. The kiss was messy, sloppy, and lust drive . Gasping for air briefly before returning. Your hands roamed each other's bodies like trying to find something in the dark. His tangled in your hair, cupping your chin. Yours found the collar of his jacket and pushed the jacket off desperately, pulling his hands from your hair. Stradling his lap your hands began working at the buttons of his shirt, fumbling slightly. Soft moans turned to loud ones as he grew hard under you.
"God, your so hard," You wined nipping at his ear.
You rolled your hips against his trying to give yourself some relief as. Joe groaned out in response. His hand yanking the zipper down and pulling your dress off with no hesitation. Thumbs pressing into your hips guiding yours and moving them faster. One hand slipped from your wait and over your clothed heat.
"Joe!" You gasped the sudden contact igniting your body, the familiar heat pooling between your legs.
"May I?" Joe asked making eye contact. You nodded and he slipped a finger in you. Then two. Slowly building up the pace, his thumb rolling back and forth on your bud providing even more pleasure than you could take. He could barely handle it either, his other hand fell from your waist and to his length, palming it with a sense of urgency.
"Joe, god, I'm going to come," You moaned out trying to hold back from coming undone.
"Can you wait two seconds? I want to be inside you?" He growled shifting you off of him so he could take off his jeans. He fumbled with the condom as the arousal almost blinded him.
"Joe, I - I need you - inside me - now" You wined as he lined himself up with your entrance. As soon as he was lined up his hips moved fast colliding with yours. Your nails dug into his back as he hit all the right spots. Your moans were loud and shaky, as were his. His head buried itself in your shoulder.
"Y/N," he panted in your ear, groaning as you arched your back in search of more friction. "Joe, I'm-" You tried to say before being cut off as you were more screaming his name out in pleasure. White heat filled your vision as you gripped onto his shoulders as he slammed into you harder and more desperate than before.
The sound of his name sent him over his own edge. With a final low moan, he was riding out his own sensation of pleasure. Gently he pulled out, discarding of the condom and cleaning up after the two of you.
"Stay?" You asked sheepishly partially redressing yourself, in his shirt.
"Y/N, we should probably talk about what just happened... not that I didn't enjoy it," He said gently walking back over to you, the lust in his eyes had been replaced by pure admiration.
"The only thing that matters is that this was by far the best break up sex I've ever had," You joked taking one of his hands in yours.
"Look, it probably wasn't the best idea, but we can worry about it in the morning, can we just have one night where we don't feel shitty about ourselves and life?" You argued after seeing he wasn't laughing as you had expected. So you gently started walking to your bedroom.
"So I remember you saying that this was the best sex you've ever had," Joe teased wrapping an arm around your waist lazily, once under the duvet.
"Break up sex, Mazzello, don't get ahead of yourself," you laughed looking up at him, smiling.
"Whatever, there's no one to prove that you didn't say that," he teased running a hand through his messed up hair, trying to tame it.
You just rolled your eyes at him and soon you were overtaken by exhaustion and sleep. It was the first night you hadn’t fallen asleep in sheer anger, and you could get used to it.
Joe didn't fall asleep right away, he spent a good part of his time awake contemplating what had just happened and where to going from there.
