I think I did this for Junicorn in 2020. I was inspired by a weird deer figurine I found online and thought our girl would look neat in the same style.

I like that I never finished her fetlocks, but posted it as finished lmao oh well.

it has now been one of the 3 times a year where i actually try out an art medium in my stockpile of collected art mediums

today is sanguine powder

why have i not used this stuff before, it is absolutely wonderful

#krakarambling #i act like i don't like traditional art mediums until i actually... dig through the ones i have #and realize that some of them *are* actually very neat #sanguine powder reminds me of graphite or charcoal in the way that it gets absolutely fucking everywhere #my hands are red #but it has a very neat look on toned paper #both on its own and when paired with white charcoal #i have not tested how it pairs with other more different mediums though #i am wondering if i could use it for sketching in my larger gouache paintings but i am not sure about this #nor have i tested how it reacts to water in general
