A Filipino childhood dessert favorite 🥥🥣 Ginataang bilo bilo is like a Filipino coconut soup with glutinous rice balls, sago, jackfruit (langka), and sometimes bananas 💛💜 A little creature poking out from the edge of the bowl

Ang Ku Kueh (红龟粿) or literally "red tortoise cake" in Hokkien Chinese is an oval-shaped pastry made of sticky glutinous rice flour skin wrapped around a sweet filling in the centre. We only managed to procure peanuts and sweet mung bean paste as the others sold out fast at Ji Xiang Confectionery (吉祥). What I liked about their Ang Ku Kueh (S$1.10 each) is that they are generous with the filling and the glutinous rice flour skin is so soft, yet not too thick. Between the peanuts and mung beans filling, we preferred former as it is more fragrant.
