his head hurt. that was pretty normal for anyone that fought for a living, but goran was growing older. his body took longer to recover after each fight, somedays he was in constant pain, but it never occured to him that he could just... stop. dejan managed everything; the fights he participated in to the money they got from the matches. most of the time, he felt like an automaton. wherever direction someone pointed him in, that's where he went. dejan told him to show up to whatever arena at whatever time, and goran would show up to the area on time multiple times a month. nearing thirty, he still felt that he had no control over his own life, and he didn't think about that fact very often. it was the way he had lived his whole life, under dejan's wing, why would he ever feel the need to change that? blood drying underneath his nose and an open cut over his right eye, goran sat in the venue's locker room, chest heaving. the fight had been an exhaustive, violent one, though that was the nature of the sport. some were bloodier than others, however. tonight, he thought his opponent might've knocked a tooth loose with a kick to the face. he would think about that later, though, when his head hurt a little less. goran winced as the creaky door to the locker room opened, and he squinted as he saw the intruder coming closer. it was the one person in the world that always tried to convince him to give kickboxing up. the only person that told him the truth, that dejan cared more about money and fame than his little brother's health. goran never wanted to hear it, though. he sighed heavily, "i'm not in the mood for a lecture, if that's why you came here."

All the thoughts I had while watching The Fast and The Furious (2001)

- It’s a bi-panic nightmare (wildest dream)

- Jordana Brewster was Nina Dobrev before Nina Dobrev was Nina Dobrev

- Makes me want to race cars illegally (even though I’m scared of driving irl)

- Unrealistic point 1: Don chatting up other women twice in the film like he hasn’t got the hottest most badass gf in the universe?? Gimme a break (Letty come here let me love u right)

- Re: above - Letty. Am I in love with her? Who knows (yes)

- The soundtrack?? Sturdyyy

- Unrealistic point 2: Are we expected to believe that Paul walker’s ice-blue eyes are in no way recognisable even if he is wearing a ski mask? Because that man’s eyes are the most intense blue I’ve ever seen lol

- Unrealistic point 3: Brian babes it’s so obvious you are a cop

- As a follow-up from the point above, I don’t know why I found it so hilarious that Brian managed to not only convince Vince and Dom he wasn’t a cop, but did so in a way that he basically got to do his job even more efficiently, lol

- Jesse must be protected at all costs and I have a sinking feeling something bad is going to happen to this poor man at some point in the franchise if not in this film (update: FFS hate being right)

- Call me naive but I genuinely thought it was gonna be another group of people who were doing the truck-stealing???

- That scene with Vince on the truck getting shot at and Dom trying to save him was…excellently filmed?? Like raw and believable and STRESSFUL and just a well-crafted depiction of a total disaster

- Underrated comedic moment when Leon drags Letty out from the car and, for a split second, carries her as if she were a smol feral cat

- Letty injured and upset in the back of the car 🥺

- I did not realise how many hills there are in LA, Jesus Christ

- Dom’s dad was def seething in his grave when he totalled his car, you just know it

I genuinely loved this film? Like it’s not the best film I’ve ever seen and it’s definitely not award-winning material, but to me there’s something so nostalgic about it - it’s not too flashy, and offers a glimpse at a type of action film that you don’t really get anymore. I feel like the other films in the Franchise won’t be like this - very much get the vibe that although they’ll be entertaining with the same level of tender ‘family’ message at the core, the one that will stick in my head will be this one.

he was super good at soccer growing up, he was on one of those little kid teams, and he absolutely loved it. if eun-bi hadn’t died, it’s something he probably would’ve done more of.

there’s a scar on his left knee from tripping on asphalt during a game of tag with his sisters.

he doesn’t scare easily, he could watch the scariest movie, or walk through the scariest haunted house, and he’d be completely unfazed by everything.

his all time favorite movie is spirited away, but he also likes every other studio ghibli movie. he just likes the vibes of them, and listens to the soundtracks of the movies when he’s studying.

So I’m thinking abt watching the new td season. I’m prob gonna split it into chunks bc it’ll be my reactions to all the episodes plus pre & post thoughts of the season, so if you wanna know my thoughts, just go to the 'total drama revival episode rambles' tag

Firstly, let’s start off with some pre-watching thoughts. These are just bullet points based on the trailers and promo pics I’ve seen. (I’ve only seen part of one trailer—I forgot which one—and some of the promo pics.)

I know most of the major details of the season bc of spoilers but I’ll try to pretend like I don’t lmao though there might be some occasions when I reference smth—I’ll put those in brackets ( [ ] ).

Now onto my thoughts!!

PRE-WATCHING THE TD SEASON:

PRIYAAA!!! [ A lot of ppl on here initially brushed her off as the Nice Girl, but I was with her from the frigging start and wanted her to go far in the season! ] As a desi female, I was so so happy to see desi rep AND her name is Priya!! It’s so pretty and ties into cultural heritage, and fgdgdgdgd I’d already hc her as bi fyi (yeah it could be me projecting on her, that’s okay. That’s f i n e. She seems like such a bisexual though)

Axel should be a lesbian. It’s what she deserves

Tbh I never rlly vibed with Ripper. Sure he seemed cool and ppl kept calling him the ‘nowen child’ but he’s pretty meh to me

I didn’t rlly try to guess who the gay couple would be ngl. But I lowkey wanted one half of it to be Chase bc it would’ve been so funny if the one person most ppl labeled as The Token Straight was n o t like imagine how many mouths that would’ve shut 😂

Chase & Zee would’ve been a v cute pair. Plus the shipname Chazee is adorable hhfgdgd if they don’t end up canon, it could be a good noncanon ship 🤷‍♀️

NJPW

Hiromu: autistic polyam king, neither cis or het, queer queer queer

El Desperado: dealt with self worth issues and depression since he debuted on the main roster, got better in the last few years tho :)

unfortunately in love with Hiromu - gender doesnt play a role in his attraction, not big on labels

Jay White: smug disaster gay, *slaps his head* this bad boy can fit so many mental issues in it, sooo insecure and masks it all till he can't anymore, calls himself King SWITCH so imma take that literal-

No but really i have a lot of thoughts about Jays motivations, in my reading he feels like the only way to make it in njpw as a gaijin is if you disregard the rules, fans and opinions of others - he's deeply afraid of everything he did to even be a wrestler having been pointless, he may cheat to get to his goal but a title is a title, the ultimate proof of his sacrifice having been worth it.

Juice Robinson: genuinely thought about giving up on wrestling, i don't buy his 'haha i tricked u all' explanation, he either reached out to BC or — the spicier take :)c — Jay reached out to him:

He knows how its like to be at rockbottom, feeling like everythings pointless. (his post WK15 promo) The guys Jay was in the dojo with were/are people he genuinely cared about (i could bring up counless examples), so he couldnt sit by and watch Juice throw his shot away

there's 3 of them rn and i love them all to pieces i have gone into wayyyyyy too much detail under the read more

so there's my demon baby who currently has no name. legit just The Demon in my brain. they started as a reader insert but i genuinely fell in love with them and am probs gonna keep adding to that au for a while (keep an eye out if u liked it)

Personally i see them as genderfluid - they can shape shift at will, but tend to lean towards mma/wrestler builds (1000000% can and will fuck u standing up) and charcoal grey skin (to blend in w the smog that fills their home skies).

physical characteristics? definitely has bat wings. love thin, membranous, and slightly translucent wings. they generally have claws and sharp teeth, a tail cause its fun to whip around and provides a nice counterweight + extra arm to grab things. they change the style of their horns like some ppl change their hair colour, a personal fav are ones either like a ram's or greater kudus's, but honestly if u like a different kind they've probably worn them for a bit for sure. tall and broad no matter what. this bastard is BIG and will use it to their advantage.

they feed off emotions, there's a whole taste menu thing i could get into, but generally they feed on fear cause its most readily available. their fav is happiness. just pure joy. tastes like bubbly sunshine and keeps them satiated for weeks. they can also amplify emotions, but can't create them if they aren't already there. summoned in the stereotypical way: fire, blood, latin chant (soap was just fuckin around for a laugh). no aversion to generic holy items, they aren't evil just another species. bright light will fuck them up tho cause they are nocturnal and have "evolved" for life in the darker hours.

can be mean. can be very very mean. knows where to hit to make it hurt, will absolutely be a little cruel on occasion when hurt by something. can also be very very warm, reading emotions makes it easy for them to give ppl what they need. generally is pretty sweet though, kinda like a creme brulee - brittle hard outside that you gotta crack to get to the soft sweet inside.

when i wanna get into their headspace i listen to maneater by the blue eyed blondes, gimme by she keeps bees (thnx for the rec on that one), keep it down by migrant motel, and i like the way you die boy by black honey. the pintrest board that i dump all the vibes in

the last one is still sorta in the work shopping phase. they're a cod oc, early to mid 30s again. i know their call sign is Jaws bc they tore someones throat out with their teeth when they got pinned down during a mission. they're head hunted by laswell after the 141 is a known force for their recon and undercover work. they get pretty close to gaz and soap, but struggle initially to break into the group cause the boys are such a well oiled machine at this point and don't really want to disrupt the status quo.

there's also the protag of my other cod fic (once again i have yet to name her). she's bi, in her mid 30s, and moved out to the edge of the forest after her last long term relationship ended (have yet to decide whether it was divorce or death). she's definitely a recluse, has a little bit of a hobby farm garden going (hugelkultur ftw), and grew up on stories about how the woods used to eat people (nova scotian; apalachian for sure).

BAD relationship w/her mother. they dont speak anymore. kind enough to her neighbours, but everyone kinda thinks shes a little strange, a little offputting (same girl). big on enjoying the little moments with the people she loves, sitting on the porch and drinking tea together kinda life.

she's honestly super special to me and i love her so much. abandoned and cranky but forced to confront that physical manifestation of grief and rage inside her when she gets attacked in the home she used to share w/her wife. and then soap? just kinda working his way into her life and very quickly getting close to her and being kind and gentle and reaching out a hand for her? idk if that was how it came out but that was what i was going for :)

anyways i listened to black hole by Griff on repeat when writing that fic, also kiss with a fist by florence and the machine. alrighty aphrodite by peach pit, lost without by shane guerrette, ghosts and monsters by saint chaos, and west virginia by the builders and the butchers were some more songs that made the writing playlist for her. pintrest board if ur interested :)

they had some trouble with their last unit too, butting heads with a shitty CO/team mate (tbd). this 100% made it into their rap sheet and gave them a bit of a rep as a trouble maker, they chose to lean into it a bit though and cause some problems on purpose for assholes. they are pretty standoffish at the start, can take a while to warm up to people. not super chatty, but enjoys spending time w/friends and will just chill and listen. loyal to a fault, but not to many ppl (eventually the 141, las, a few old team mates).

they aren't close with their family, parents passed in a car accident while they were on deployment and their sister feels like they abandoned her for the military (give an oc a happy backstory challenge has been failed). playing around with the idea of them faking their death and leaving their old team behind to go undercover at one point (the angst of being recognized by someone who thought they were dead and accidentally burning that bridge tho)
