they were from a pair of surrendered wolves intended to be used for illegal breeding and the female arrived pregnant but when she had puppies they were like wtf these are lab puppies???? and later they found out she had been around the owners pit bull.

One of my new kittens, Howl, is very very sick 😔 we just got the diagnosis the other day from the vet that he has FIP, a terminal disease. We’re looking into experimental treatment though, one that’s not FDA approved (for stupid copyright reasons, it’s actually been very well studied) but has had very high cure rates with the people who used it.

The other week I went to a reptile/amphibian expo and one guy had some scorpions that he was holding. I have fully overcome my nervousness about spiders, but I'm still pretty wary of scorpions, so I went to get a closer look (exposure therapy is how I became cool with spiders, but scorpions aren't native to Pennsylvania, so that's been harder). Anyway the interaction was hilarious:

Me: I came to look at the scorpions because I'm a little sketchy about them.

Scorpion guy: Okay, cool. This guy is a little spicy today. You wanna hold him?

Me, fairly certain I'm about to go to the ER: Absolutely.
