How To ‘Plant’

Yeah, that was definitely not one of the things you had anticipated upon being reincarnated. The other surprise was that you were in Dragonspine. Which was somehow slightly less shocking when compared to waking up as a whopperflower.

Being a plant, even one that could wield ice, was not fun. Moving was so difficult. You’d never missed your limbs more. The fastest you could move was still a laughable speed, and thus you had no chance of actually catching any prey. Carnivorous nature be damned, you can’t believe that you didn’t just get reincarnated as a plant, but as a carnivorous one at that! Regardless, the fact was, you were starting to run dangerously low on energy.

After a lot of brainstorming, and several failed attempts to lure and catch a squirrel, you resigned yourself to doing something dumb. Arguably the dumbest thing you could do, but at this point you were desperate, and to be entirely honest, you wouldn’t mind if this stunt killed you; being a plant is absolutely miserable.

What was the idea you’d come up with? Well…

…*crunch*.

‘Ew. Tastes like shit. Actually, how do I even have a sense of taste? Plants don’t have tastebuds! What the fuck is Teyvat doin to its plants?’

You consumed some of the energy from a piece of crimson agate.

Bad idea.

You don’t remember much more than a flash of immense pain, feeling like you were on fire both inside and out. Needless to say, it wasn’t fun. When you regained consciousness, you noticed that the world around you seemed less big than before, and you were naturally rather confused.

That was until you spotted a reflection on the surface of a nearby piece of agate. The sight was one you’d seen before, but only through a screen. You blinked a few times, but sure enough, the reflection of the Fellflower boss you’d fought so many times in the 2.3 update didn’t disappear.

‘…holy shit.’

A realization came upon you like a lightning bolt, causing you to freeze in surprise. In the story, the Fellflower had mimicked the appearance of Albedo, meaning if you shared the same ability then maybe you could finally move faster than a disabled turtle!

You’d mimicked a few sweet flowers while you were still trying to catch something to eat, so you’d gotten a decent grasp on how to control the ability. Closing your eyes and focusing, you imagined your old body and how much you desperately missed it. There was a rushing sensation before you opened your eyes again.

This time the reflection wasn’t the Fellflower; it was the face of you, of [Name]. You won’t lie, you may have cried a little you were so happy to have your arms and legs back.

Then you froze as an all too familiar voice echoed through the cave.

“Another one? And one I didn’t make at that. How interesting…”

albedo and his three brothers. some headcanons and design elements under the cut :)

albedo, compared to the others, has the yellowest blonde hair - with droopy blue eyes, freckles, and his signature golden star birthmark on his neck. i didnt change his design much because i think his current design is already very nice !!

his personality is already layed out in the game so i didnt change much! hes reserved, but not the socially anxious type. he just prefers not to deal with social interaction because he thinks its easier that way. he doesn't hold himself back, and just says whats on his mind (and/or asks for assistance when needed.) he has a very professional attitude on the outside, but a soft and comforting nature to his close friends and family.

this is a contrast from dorian, or "rubedo", who has more platinum blonde hair, and purple-red eyes. he also has moles, instead of freckles. his marking is more of a purple-red color, and has more points to it. (he can also hide and change it!) his hair is also unbraided, but in a ponytail. he has somewhat of a permanent scowl on his face, and his eyes are downturned while albedo's are more droopy. i think his real name is rubedo, to match with albedo (both are stages in alchemy) but after rhinedottir abandons him, he changes it to "dorian" to match his brother, durin. (his name is dorian in the games files, so i made a story to go with it. but i also believe he's inspired by the story "the picture of dorian gray")

his personality is more brash & brazen compared to albedo, as he has some un-resolved baggage surrounding rhinedottir abandoning him in durin's stomach (aka: the dragon in dragonspine). he resents albedo for having the life he couldn't have despite being created by rhinedottir first. he was merely the testing stage of albedo's existence. he doesn't have a vision, and he cant control the elements, but he miraculously has powers of his own. he uses durin's blood (or crimson agate) which manifests much like albedo's geo element. his power is strongest when in dragonspine near durin's heart, so if he went to mondstadt city, it would be much weaker.

whopperflower, or just "whoppy", is dorian's creation that he made from studying albedos books and notes (that he stole, by the way.) so obviously, i gave him cryo whopperflower traits. his design is more similar to albedo because dorian projected his issues onto him a bit ... whoppy has white markings on his neck and forehead that match other flowers, and his leaf colors extend onto his hair :) he's fully capable of mimicking something else, but his true form is a whopperflower - and i wanted to make all of them have distinctive designs, so i gave him a little sprout on his head :)

whoppy's personality is quiet and obedient. since he was created by dorian, he listens to pretty much everything he says and has a hard time gaining his own free will. dorian doesn't control him after the fight in shadows admist snowstorms, so he still has to learn how to think for himself... he also wields the element of cryo without a vision, because he's a whopperflower :-)

the last one is what i like to call "glitchbedo" and he's based off of this glitch. i think it would be interesting if he was an unknown identity from the abyss, who roams around dragonspine, before he saw albedo and tried to steal his appearance. albedo finds him roaming around mindlessly one day and pretty much takes him in. when trying to make him talk however, loud static noises come out instead. (i got this idea from this comic!)

he's just ... a black void?? that's it. his head is tilted permanently for some reason. he can't write or speak but he can understand tevyats language. he's a very mysterious guy... im still trying to figure out how i want to characterize him -_- something like paper jam dipper from gravity falls, maybe ??

so you know that one set of headcannons i made about a cosplayer!reader?

it's 11pm again, and my small brain self has decided to have a reader cosplaying as albedo so that one event can be relived-

So, let's start on some world building, shall we?

Let's say you had gotten transported to Teyvat during the Shadows Amidst Snowstorms event, just a few hours before the whole Fellflower thing.

Immediately after half-ass processing the situation you were in, and bribing one of those fire seelies to join you, you started venturing for a slightly safer place to properly think about what you should do next.

I'm a fakebedo simp so we're rushing this and saying you ran into him after stumbling towards the heart. I want to write for him very badly-

He probably thought you were like him at first, another failed experiment looking for a place they could find safety in.

..until he noticed the star mark on your neck

He really should've known better, yet he still reached for his blade, every muscle in his body tensing.

You of course, equally panicked, started trying to explain your situation, wildly flailing your arms to try and emphasize it.

Upon hearing your voice Rubedo had let out a breath of relief, glad to know you weren't the man who had taken the life that was stolen from him.

He was still weary though.

He wasn't going to let his guard down anytime soon.

At least.. that's what he told himself.

[ " DEAR GRACE! {Name} what happened to you?! " ] The blonde headed male exclaimed, gaping at your face which now had runny makeup and fresh water dripping off of it.

[ " It's a cosplay, Rubedo. It's not going to last forever. " ] You replied simply, continuing to scrub at the various different products that had been applied. The male, Rubedo, continued to stare at you as if you had grown a second head, eventually approaching you with and tilting his head.

[ " So.. it was fake? " ]

[ " Of course it was fake! " ]

=Fellflower=

After a brief rest at the dragons heart, you continued on your journey.

You had decided you'd try to find your way out of Dragonspine as soon as possible, however there was one problem..

You totally forgot the map, especially since everything seemed so much bigger now.

You ended up blindly waddling into what looked like an arena, seeing a whopperflower with magenta accents laying on the floor, motionless.

You looked back and forth for a moment, checking if anyone was there, before cautiously approaching them.

Immediately the carnivorous plant snapped its head towards you, making a sound akin to a hiss.

You took a few steps back, keeping a hard gaze on them.

After they calm down a bit, you continued closing in on it.

Once you're within arms reach, you gently pat its head and inspect their injuries.

They growl and tremble while you use fabric from your jacket/ a first aid kit inside one of your pockets.

After it's patched up it quickly grows much more passive.

It ends up following you wherever you go, simply tilting their head whenever you look back at them.

Honestly for a plant they're quite a vibe, though.

Probably has tried to eat your wig once.

Either that or they ended up copying everything you do once you inevitably take off your cosplay.

[" Soo.. is there any reason as to why you're copying me? "] You question, despite the attempt being futile.

As expected, the Fellflower simply repeats your question, stumbling over a few words.

You sighed, shaking your head and walking away from it. They follow, keeping near perfect pace with you. Looking over at them you see a reflection of yourself, from your facial features, to the outfit you were wearing.

(' Jeez, it's getting better at mimicking every day. They look like my twin or something, haha')
