KR Geats theory about Ace's backstory and mother:
*spoilers upto episode 14, possibly a lot more lol*
Having confirmation that Jamato can indeed evolve and take after the dead players, they're fed with broken ID cores, or straight up raised from those cores as seeds, so kinda making them... Plant... people.. something...?
Saw someone mention 'what if Ace was a Jamato', and this got me thinking,
So what if Ace is the highest evolution of Jamatos? Which is near identical to humans?
Or result of some experiment of their doing, that's also likely.
Tumblr media
Artificial lifeform who's been fed multiple ID cores, and I've had this theory before, he's a victim of manipulation himself this whole time. That's why he believes he's been playing DGP for 2k+ years, but actually it hasn't been that long. Maybe those are subconscious memories from all the many dead riders.
(Ace usually tricks people, and the moment he realizes this, would be something! I've been counting down on his emotional breakdown moment since ep 1 😝)
This Would also match with the all time KR theme of fighting against what you are/ hero-villain same power source (I should be better at phrasing this....)
And his 'mother', Mitsume (not his real mother with this theory) was a navigator before, what if she didn't approve of DGP's cruel ways, took pity on Ace, was nice to him, and betrayed DGP? So they had her removed or locked up or who knows what.
Tumblr media
(Ace's flashback shows him as a kid, but we don't know how exactly Jamatos evolve, so could be. And if it's any human experiment, then anything is possible)

reminds me! there's that one buffabutt apologist that said "I really hate people who go, 'neat motive still murder' on Michinaga because this disregards the traumatic event he's been through"
Is the same person who completely disregards how Sara dying in front of Keiwa would be traumatizing for Keiwa.
I know... right?
Michi might have witnessed Tohru's death and while this might just be insensitive of me to point out, Tohru is STILL just a friend. And as much as I assume that Tohru MUST be very important to Michi.... you don't really see much him caring THAT much about Tohru or people that were in a similar situation as Tohru? Like when he realised that Tohru really died and dead dead and Knight Jyama was still NOT Tohru... he can still like ... abandon Knight altogether 'cos the real Tohru's dead anyway'.
Also, as much as this addition was super minor and UNIMPORTANT, in the end of the day, Michi's father is still very ALIVE. Aside from Tohru, Michi's life was NEVER that GREATLY affected by the DGP... so whatever he did during the earlier games never really felt justified.
Like I don't want to compare traumas but (aside from Ace) the DGP really screwed with Keiwa's life a lot (and this not even included all the clowning). He had lost his PARENTS because of the DGP, and because of that he and Sara end up being orphans NOT by CHOICE (unlike ancertain cow running away from home) and to see his remaining FAMILY ... his sister DIE in front of him on the hands of someone that he thought could be his FRIEND. How could anyone think that Keiwa's trauma could be any lesser than the cow's? How could Keiwa NOT go crazy after that, even more after he was led to believe that his other important person (Ace) had also abandoned and betrayed him?
Of all the characters in the series that I'd excuse to go God of Destruction on the world, it'd be Keiwa.... AND Ace. We din get to see Geats III in action much anyway.... and there prolly be nothing left remaining if Geats III and Bujin Sword went on rampage together.

I really did that Baccano+Kamen Rider text post thing because I really cannot stop thinking of this quote when it comes to the Geats OT4
“I can't bring myself to trust you. But even if you were to betray me, and even if you were to become my enemy... would it be okay for me to love? Could you... let me love you?”
Listen. Listen.
Little earlier in the same scene in the same book:
"I don't trust you." [...] "...yeah. That's all right." "I'm going to use you for my own ends. That's not going to change." "Yeah." [...] "But even still… is it all right if I could love you?"
(I coloured who's speaking when because without the descriptions and internal parts it's hard to say who is saying what.)
I'm obsessed. For me the OT4 is the best where they know they can't trust each other - they might give over a bit of trust, but they yank it back at the first opportunity. No unconditional trust. It shouldn't work, and maybe it wouldn't, but honestly, the disaster is what makes them so entertaining.
Let them all mutually use each other, mutually distrust each other, and still be in love, is my point
(Takahashi please put my OT4 back in the same general area I beg, I'm starving.)
(Even if Michinaga will continue trying to maim Ace with a chainsaw, that's a feature, not a bug, with them. Also I miss Michinaga-Keiwa interactions.)
This is where the "similarities" between that Baccano couple and the Geats OT4 start and end, (even though I did give another quote about one of them to Michinaga in the pic set, they are... unhinged in very different ways let's just put it this way) but this simple scene is absolutely in my brain and I keep applying it to the Geats OT4 don't even mind me, really

loling at the fact that almost everyone not Keiwa, has utilized the cloning capabilities of Ninja Buckle, but Keiwa hasn't
[real life ninjas do use clones... well according to this http://www.ninjaencyclopedia.com/techniques/bunshin.html
apparently there's more of them and the confusion starts because people dressed like man A, has an identical appearance as man B, appears, creating the illusion of clones]
Yeah, but the whole point of bunshin-no-jutsu is that they're illusions. They're mind games and tricks, and ninjas being extremely prepared and clever. It's not some magic trick that immediately turns the tide in his favor.
Another important point people tend to forget about ninjas is that while they are very skilled in combat, they're also good at blending in, being so discreet so as to be overlooked. Which describes Keiwa to a t- he's just "some guy" who happens to have enough skill and determination to be on par with the likes of Ace. Him having the absurd Naruto type of jutsu kinda defeats the purpose of that.
[Also for the record, this just goes to show how absurdly pervasive the Naruto stereotype of ninja is- the article doesn't actually show the bunshin-no-jutsu (clone jutsu) as seen in the show itself. Naruto's technique is the kage-bunshin-no-jutsu (shadow clone jutsu), which does create solid copies. Naruto can't actually use bunshin-no-jutsu at all, it's the technique that kept him from graduating from the Academy! But they keep getting mistaken for each other especially in the original series dub...]

Oh gods, I just saw that you have mixed feelings on Geats, how far are you currently in the show?
~ @gaiamatsu
I wanna say I was around episode 24-26 when I posted that? Between the start of the JGP but before Ace's backstory was shown...
I think a lot of what was dragging it for me... basically comes down to the pacing and focus- the way the games and plot seemed to go by without much focus on the characters, especially the non-main Riders. I didn't and still don't like how it presents the DGP as this big thing, as "oh shit Riders die, oh these poor random people", but never give the actual random people enough screentime or impact.
Like the uhhh Amongus arc. It was just Ace, Keiwa, Neon, and two newbies. And at this point, our main 3 had been eliminated before, so the stakes felt a little lowered :/ i dunno...
Currently, I'm at 31, and oh wow did those last two episodes pick it back up for me. I'm willing to forgive Takahashi's issues for pulling off that reveal SO well.

RANT
I love Takahashi's rider series but....
Geats...geats... I just can't like it!!
The starting episodes were so good. I would say everything was fine till episode 30 but then something happened.
I dont even understand whats going on in the show anymore.
What is everyone doing???
Everyone wanted an unique title rider who didn't sacrifice himself for everyone. That's why we got Ace. He tried his level best to bring his mother back. That's all he cared about. So, he did many things (some are questionable) and now he is trying to correct them.
Neon is actually a really complex character. I dont remember the last time we got such a complex story for a female character in rider series.
Michinaga is ... yeah..he is there.. I still don't understand why he went on a killing spree to somehow save everyone from DGP. And his getting his redemption arc. (Personally, I think the best way for him to redem himself is to sacrifice himself)
Beroba....no comments for her.
I still want to know why people think Kekera is the best supporter. ( maybe creating a cult for the rider you support is best kind of supporting).
KEIWA......KEIWA...WHATS WRONG WITH HIM!!
It's almost like he had a 180 degree change. I understand losing your family and all that. But this!!! This seems like a completely new character .
Are you going in Gaim's route?
Gaim's ending was understandable. Kaito was always a complex character but Keiwa..?? No. No at all.
I have no idea what's going with this show anymore

How Did We Get Here: Choices
*metalpipefalling.mp4*
I'm genuinely so confused at some of the opinions of people in the Geats fandom. It feels like I'm watching the fan response to a completely different series, and the lack of understanding here is something I want to address. Namely, to the concept of "redemption", or at least how it's being used right now.
It seems like there is a central lack of understanding on what one of the core themes of the show is: choice, choices and how we can choose to act. It's an entirely different rant, but it's present in everything, and nobody can see it.
There's something oddly visceral about the rejection of the writing in these recent episodes, and it's tied to this weird idea of everybody getting a sudden "Resurrection Arc" out of nowhere. And it's... honestly kind of strange to me.
Michinaga chose to try and fight the Jyamato, not because it would automatically redeem him or something, but because he saw people in danger, and for the first time in-series he actually did want to help (albeit what happened after he did so was the opposite, and it's kind of amusing how he keeps fucking up.)
Kousei chose to become a Kamen Rider, not because it would automatically redeem him or something, but because of him not wanting to lose another daughter, regardless of if he's already burned the bridge of their relationship a thousand times over.
Their actions still had consequences!!! The relationships are still not healed because of them spectacularly fucking up!!!! But regardless of all of that they finally chose to maybe try and fix the mess they've made, and while it doesn't redeem their previous actions, it shows that there is something human enough underneath to change, to make good choices. To move on from the trauma that led them here. And maybe to try and repair the bonds they severed.
That is not redemption (at least, not yet.) There is still a very long road ahead, but what matters is that, for once in their lives, they made the right choice and realized how much of a bitch they were. That's not a fucking Redemption Arc, that's character development, it is fleshing them out, it is making them develop, and it is making them realize that what they chose to do matter. To say that they are magically forgiven for all of their actions because of this is a wild misunderstanding of the concept.
There is such a thing as changing, of deciding to do the right thing and maybe to try and atone for what you've done. There is such a thing as forgiving yet not forgetting. Maybe it doesn't feel """earned""" for some people, but I think there's something about that idea that I enjoy, and for as clumsily implemented as it may be I feel like it's still a theme worth having in-series.
I'm not gonna press my luck, but for anyone out there, I hope this makes ya think a little bit.

Geats Frustration Rant
I dunno if I can even take Takahashi seriously as a writer anymore because this "everyone gets redeemed but dark gangster Keiwa ensues" arc is tiresome is fuck
Like... how many antagonists are gonna get this side plot of recognizing they're shitty human beings way too late and doing something they should've done (e.g. the bare minimum of human decency/being a parent) while everything else they've done is swept under the rug like nothing happened. He did it to Azuma, now he's doing it to Neon's parents.
If he seriously thinks I'm gonna buy Neon forgiving her parents for how they treated her just because Kousei did something he should be doing as a parent anyway... something he should've done several arcs ago... *tosses hands in air*
And knowing Takahashi, Keiwa's going to be made to "earn" his redemption more than any of those other people did, just because he was "one of the good guys". And of course he's going to be made to live with the consequences of his actions, unlike everyone else who gets forgiven at the drop of a hat
I am so close to the end of my rope with this show

I'm just curious about your ship but how did Ozma and Ty Parsec meet, fall in love and get married? 👀👀👀
It's something I'm still trying to figure out myself, but it starts with Ty meeting Ozma when he accompanies Buzz on a mission to Karn. At first she is unimpressed with him, like "Oh geat! Another rocket jockey!" Later when an injured animal is discovered on the planet, Ozma asks Ty to distract it while she tends to its wound. Ty reluctantly agrees to do so, muttering all the while why he has to be the 'expendable one'; but he does manage to keep the animal occupied while Ozma treats the wound.
Sometime later, Ozma remarks, "You know, Ty; you and that animal didn't seem to be all that different from each other."
"What do you mean?" Ty asks.
"Well," Ozma continues, "judging from what I heard you ranting about, you seem to be misunderstood by society a lot. Much like many of the creatures that live here. I guess what I'm trying to say, is that both of you just wanted someone to listen to you. Even if it was just for a little while."
At first Ty is all "Look; I'm just here because Buzz wanted me to come with him! If you think I was just looking to befriend some vicious beasts because no one understands me, you must have a screw loose or something!"
But Ozma's words stay with him, and the more he thinks about them, the more sense they start to make.
PS: Don't worry; Ty does eventually apologize to Ozma for saying she had a screw loose.

Geats episode 28 highlights:
*spoiler alert*
• honestly, I expected the cliffhanger to end as Ace wakes up at the last moment and dodges, in usual Ace fashion, he's been plotting.. but that didn't happen at all, so it was a simpler yet unexpected surprise.
Tumblr media
• So that's how Ace has been living huh. Even he doesn't know all the answers.
He also wondered about how every parent ends up naming 'Ace '.  So the ceaser coin keeps coming to him but he also doesn't know why.
His life is a mystery to him as well... *Sigh*
And it's definitely tiring.
On the very 1st episode, Ace gave off the vibe of carrying huge burdens. Now we see what burden. The burden of ...life. tiredness of living.
it's wonderful how the acting could subtly imply this so many episodes ago!!
Existing just for 20 years in this world is tiring enough, and 2000 is... *Sigh*
Still raises some new questions though, like, does Ace instantly remember everything from his previous life even as a baby, or remembers slowly?
All the families he's had so far, didn't he grow any attachments to some, or at one point everything became meaningless because he'll just 'pass by' this life anyway....
• it was nice to see Gene's emotional journey too. Emotions hurt huh.
But why's he leaving, the team up was getting good! (Heard it's because the actor is busy?)
Tumblr media
• And a new cast song! I was surprised! Duet from Ace and Gene, rider and sponsor. I honestly didn't think of this idea before, so are we getting more? 😃
"Live for the moment" is a beautiful song too! None of the actors sounded like pro singers (unlike keiwa, Neon and Michinaga's actor's musical experience) but who cares, the tune, melody, lyrics, sounded so nice!
• Beroba is 350 years old, and the actress is 15 in real life. Both cases seems visually impossible so I don't know fiction-reality, anything anymore. Lol
• Good thing Michinaga has plans to overthrow jellybean. Still hoping he has a more interesting wish he's not telling anyone yet.

with regards to the "harbinger" ask
sorry, I just saw a tumblr post saying that Keiwa jumpstarted the apocalypse. It's one of those people who pretend to like Keiwa but really hate him with a passion.
Their words were ".... not to mention jumpstarting the apocalypse because 'his sister got killed'"
I will say this, Buffabutt can be excused for murder and literal manslaughter and being complicit in Beroba's Heaven or Hell game because of Tohru but Keiwa's apparently different.
Do I sound like I was angry in the last reply? 😃 Maybe i was... maybe I'm not 😃
But since I can't really tell if ppl are being serious or sarcastic, I thought I'd cover all the bases regardless.
And yes I AM aware of the aforementioned post... which had been a MAJOR reason that fueled most of my latter buffrage posts.
(regardless I'm still amazed that until now I never really get any asks from Buffa apologist directly trying to argue that their very misguided opinion was not wrong or their cow was innocent. which was really interesting tbh)
Tumblr media
ANY mention of ppl trying to insinuate Keiwa started the apocalypse (without the aid of Beroba, Kekera and Jitt) will trigger my Bujin mode. Aside from any attempt to pin a fraud label on my tanuki. Cos really.... the one who truly came close to doing that is STILL the BURNABLE TRASH FRAUD. Oh, that reminds me... another missed opportunity would be for Michi AND Kanato to have a real co-op relationship since the combo of both of their wishes would practically grant them DECADE'S power... those two would've been able to start an apocalypse 😃

So, that Asakura and Keiwa thing I posted earlier, that was a knee-jerk reaction. I just read someone rant about how they compared him to Keiwa.
aaaand...
well...
I dug deeper because, I refuse to believe someone would be that asinine to compare the two of them... and I was right, it was actually how each Geats Rider would measure up to a Ryuki Rider. So naturally Ouja and Tycoon were matched up.
I apologize for posting such a knee-jerk reaction.

some geats rant (also including ex-aid spoilers)
Honestly, this whole Keiwa vs Ace thing is pissing me the hell off. There was literally ZERO prelude to what causes Keiwa and Ace to conflict with each other. Keiwa only said "No more trust" to Ace in the beginning but that's it! They later become amicable, and now they're being enemies again???
Compare this to Emu and Hiiro's rivalry, in the beginning they have this ideological clashes on what constitutes a doctor, several episodes later and the conflict escalates into something else; Hiiro betraying the CR gang to pledge allegiance to Masamune, but y'know what's the difference?
Emu and Hiiro KNOW what each other thinks, and they both knew what Hiiro's doing is not right. But Emu wants Hiiro to be happy, he does not give the slightest bit of damn if he might get killed: He just wants Hiiro to be happy with Saki.
Hiiro also knows what he's doing is not right, but he knows this is his only chance to bring his girlfriend back to life. He'd rather betray his friends and save his girlfriend right here, right now, than wait in uncertainty for God knows how many years for the technological advancement to be good enough to resurrect Saki.
Back to Geats, there was literally no solid reason for Keiwa and Ace to be enemies again.. There was no blackmail, no nothing, it's as if Keiwa's soul has turned into a mass of pure, unadulterated rage that has no damn solid reason to hurt everyone or anything in it's path, and of course, Ace being the mamma's boy thinks his mother did nuthin' wrong... ugh
This sounds more like ramblings but i wish the conflicts were handled better, gdi

What do you think of the latest Kingohger episode and Racules now ?🤔
Tumblr media
Sigh... I already know where this is going and fuck I'm going to hate it.
Rant + possibly controversial opinion below the cut
We're going to get this whole sequence of the brothers working together at long last, and finally Gira forgives Racles for abandoning him in an orphanage and denying his birthright and place and nearly killing him because it was just all part of the fucking plan to save the universe or some shit like that.
I'm tired of all these plots where an abusive/neglectful character's actions are somehow justified by the narrative to shift the blame from the abuser to some external force, which in turn makes the abuser "forgivable" in the eyes of the abused and basically gets them off scot-free for what they did with no real consequences.
It's like Toei can't even say that these people are wrong no matter what... that the abused is not in any way obligated to forgive the ones who hurt them even if there was a "valid" reason... that even if they are granted forgiveness that the relationship won't be magically fixed, or that they won't face consequences from anyone else.
They did it with Neon's parents in Geats... now they're doing it to Racles in King ohger.
Toei should really, really rethink the messages it's sending to its audience about how to deal with loved ones who abuse and neglect them. It's a fucking kid's show, yes, but even kids should know that the people they love have no fucking excuses for hurting them that way! It's fine if they don't forgive people who treat them like crap, and it doesn't make them a crappy person!
Oh, and of course, I'm going to fully expect Racles' power grabbing, warmongering and plotting to take over the other kingdoms to be swept under the rug as part of some grand scheme he cooked up to ingratiate himself to the enemy so he can take them down from the inside. Of course. Because he couldn't have done that without letting anyone but Kaguragi in on the plan, right? /s
tldr: I still think Racles should go die in a ditch and Gira should be the one kicking him in there, for being a shitty older brother and king
