This is a small thing that I was thinking about, and I know this was like over a year ago but it was in my mind. It actually really pisses me off that when the whole Robert Manion thing came out Robert tried to talk about how he didn’t get the line between personal/professional relationships, and acted like he thought it was a joke among friends. That still does not work as an explanation of why he did that though, and it doesn’t make it ok. I’ve been sexually harassed by people who’ve I’ve called friends before who later claimed that they were just trying to joke. It’s really upsetting for him to claim that that’s what was going on and to act like it’s less of a big deal even though that’s also so wrong. It pisses me off and I’m glad he’s not involved in starkid anymore.

in the bunker, ted is angry. hes not scared anymore. he cant imagine having that capacity, now. hes just angry. hes angry and sad and grieving even though he really doesn't know if pete is alive or not. his baby brother could theoretically be safe, locked in his room or curled up in a closet somewhere. but honestly, is that really plausible? his little boy, the boy he's watch grow from a loud and excitable kid into an awkward pre-teen and finally into a clunky, nerdy teen. dead. completely gone. without a change to even say goodbye or i love you or even just to say im here. ted is angry in the bunker.

in the bunker, bill is scared. his baby girl is out there somewhere, alone, afraid and unsaveable. bill can't do anything about it, either, and he knows it. the one time hes so glad that his girl is safe outside of hatchetfield, he fails at that, too. even trying to save her, begging to go to her, he knows he can't. its too late, he did everything wrong, and he failed the only person he had left again. bill is scared in the bunker.

in the bunker, paul is sad. hes not angry- nothing like ted- he cant find it in himself to be angry. he knows richie is gone. paul may have practically raised the boy, but he could never survive something like this. paul understands that. without richie, he can't find himself being scared, either. what else is there for him? without his sister, without his nephew, and with his parents away in clivesdale, he doesn't have anyone besides emma. if she dies, he does too. simple as that. all he can do is grieve for himself. for his boy, for emma, for bill and his baby, stranded out there alone. paul is sad in the bunker.

(emma is incredibly confused, and very tired, in the bunker. professor hidgens is excited and terrified in the bunker. he always had been. sam does not know that hes in the bunker.)

Honestly if I’m being honest I think there’s a massive issue with how we discuss harassment, assault, and other extreme negative behaviors public figures exhibit. Instead of focusing on the victims and survivors of situations we continuously focus the conversation on the people who have done the harm. We need to make the narrative focus on people who had to go through shit because of people. Particularly I think that this is because of internet culture now. It’s essentially turned into a moral purity war especially in fandoms, which is really frustrating. It’s turned into this whole thing where you have to say that ‘if you support or like this person fuck you’ instead of educating people and distancing yourself from those you’ve been educated and still plan to support that person. Also I think we need to learn that not every action a public figure who’s a bad person is going to be negative and you can still appreciate those aspects of that person while acknowledging that they are shitty. I’m not saying support that person but I think people have this idea now a days where every action a public figure who’s a bad person does is bad and malicious and it’s just kind of moral policing instead of discussing the actions that actually do harm. Any the main point is center conversations like this on the victims and their feelings.

Recently Rewatched Black Friday (Starkid) with one of my very close friends, and the WHOLE time I was talking (Extending the musical to around 4 hours oops) and now I can't stop thinking about doing a Black Friday Rewrite....

There are so so so many things that could have been very good, but it just. Falls short. And don't get me wrong, I like the musical, but some of it justtttt... Feels like a chore to get through to get to the good bits. And that is something that should Never happen, because the musical itself is SO good when it's Good.

I might post about it more if I feel so inclined, it's just a shame that it wasn't as good as it could have been.

Also Robert Manion (Who I have no fucking respect for, may he fucking burn as he deserves) was SEVERELY miscast as Ethan, something I thought even before the Proven Allegations came out.
