From my heart and from my hand / Why don't people understand my intentions?
Tumblr media
004. Got a TV head / I wake up with my brain scattered / Feel numb, put on a screen, cuz it's easier to just pretend / Mama says: "Always try to look your best / Always try to look your best, TV Head"
Instead of looking like I feel / Making everybody wonder / Should I even be here anyway? / Cuz when the only thing that's real is the meaning hidden under what I try to write on the page / Maybe that's why I'm here / They need me / I feel the static in the air I breathe / It’s getting harder to keep holding up this TV
Tumblr media
005. Losing my mind / It never felt so good to be alive / Crucify my name / I never felt more famous than today, where I am no one to nothing
And though I've been told / You gotta keep your spirit close / I let mine go / You, well maybe you could too / You molecule / You could be dancing along with particles and carbon to this song

To the town of Agua Fria rode a stranger one fine day
Hardly spoke to folks around him didn't have too much to say
No one dared to ask his business no one dared to make a slip
For the stranger there among them had a big iron on his hip
Big iron on his hip
It was early in the morning when he rode into the town
He came riding from the south side slowly lookin' all around
He's an outlaw loose and running came the whisper from each lip
And he's here to do some business with the big iron on his hip
Big iron on his hip
In this town there lived an outlaw by the name of Texas Red
Many men had tried to take him and that many men were dead
He was vicious and a killer though a youth of twenty four
And the notches on his pistol numbered one and nineteen more
One and nineteen more
Now the stranger started talking made it plain to folks around
Was an Arizona ranger wouldn't be too long in town
He came here to take an outlaw back alive or maybe dead
And he said it didn't matter he was after Texas Red
After Texas Red
Wasn't long before the story was relayed to Texas Red
But the outlaw didn't worry men that tried before were dead
Twenty men had tried to take him twenty men had made a slip
Twenty one would be the ranger with the big iron on his hip
Big iron on his hip
The morning passed so quickly it was time for them to meet
It was twenty past eleven when they walked out in the street
Folks were watching from the windows every-body held their breath
They knew this handsome ranger was about to meet his death
About to meet his death
There was forty feet between them when they stopped to make their play
And the swiftness of the ranger is still talked about today
Texas Red had not cleared leather fore a bullet fairly ripped
And the ranger's aim was deadly with the big iron on his hip
Big iron on his hip
It was over in a moment and the folks had gathered round
There before them lay the body of the outlaw on the ground
Oh he might have went on living but he made one fatal slip
When he tried to match the ranger with the big iron on his hip
Big iron on his hip
Big iron Big iron
When he tried to match the ranger with the big iron on his hip
Big iron on his hip
Void i love you and everything you're very dear to my heart but sometimes i want to punch you in the face

Big Iron
"To the town of Agua Fria rode a stranger one fine day Hardly spoke to folks around him, didn't have too much to say No one dared to ask his business, no one dared to make a slip The stranger there among them had a big iron on his hip Big iron on his hip" This is an old drawing, from last year, I did based on the handsome ranger that Marty Robbins sings about in his song Big Iron. For some reasons I've never posted it but since I'm still quite happy about it (not too much of the bg) why not to post it? act (c) me

l wanna tell you one story. This was... the best meal I've ever had in my life alright? This happened when I was eleven years old at the New Vegas Strip where I grew up and it took place at a little, uh, restaurant called "The Gourmand". Which was a restaurant in the Ultra-Luxe casino (guy raises his hand) Yes, yes you know The Gourmand? Its a wonderful restaurant in-in New Vegas. Which means it caters to mainly drunk NCR troops and homeless schizophrenics. Now I go into this place one day when I'm eleven, with my best friend Arcade Gannon. And I should say that his name is also Arcade. I'm not calling myself my own best-friend, it's a separate human being. We walk into The Gourmand one day and they had a request line for Radio New Vegas there, alright? And the jukebox was three plays for a cap, so we put in SEVEN CAPS and selected 21 plays of Kay Kyser's "Jingle, Jangle, Jingle". And then we ordered and waited. Here's the thing about... when "Jingle, Jangle, Jingle" plays over and over and over and over and over again. The second time it plays your immediate thought is not, "Hey! someones playing Jingle Jangle Jingle again". It's ,"Hey... Jingle Jangle Jingle is a lot LONGER than I first thought, and it has like... a dip in the middle". You know how some songs have a dip, like Cole Porter’s "Anything Goes" And you're like... "Hey! Anything Goes is over...! No it's not...! There's more". The third time it plays, you’re thinking "Maybe someone's playing Jingle, Jangle, Jingle again". The FOURTH time it plays, you’re thinking... "WOAH, someone just played Jingle, Jangle, Jingle FOUR times!" Or at least someone played it twice but it’s a really long song. So... the FIFTH time is the kicker. Now we're watching the ENTIRE restaurant at this point. MOST people have gotten wind as to what's going on. And we're staring at this one guy, he's sitting in his booth. And his like, hand is shaking while his stupid kids jump around. And like, he's been onto us since the beginning. And he's staring at his coffee cup like this and there's his look on his face like he just got his thirty day chip from the followers of the apocalypse. And he's staring like this...And the fourth play fades out... It's dead quiet... And then. … I dont know if you know this... But the song begins very suddenly... … I GOT SPURS THAT JINGLE JANGLE JINGLE... and the guy goes “GOOOOODDAMMIT!!!” And pounds on the table. And silverware flies everywhere and it was faaaantastic! But a word about my friend Arcade and what a genius he was because... When we were first up in the jukebox and when we were punching in the "Jingle, Jangle, Jingle”s alright? I punched in about seven... And then Arcade says to me "Hey, hey, hey wait... Before we drop in another Jingle, Jangle, Jingle let's put in ONE "Big Iron". And that is when the afternoon went from GOOD to GREAT. After 7 Jingle, Jangle, Jingles in a ROW. ...Suddenly its “To the town of Agua Fria rode a stranger one fine day...“ And the SIGH of RELIEF SWEPT through the restaurant, people were ECSTATIC!!! It was like the liberation of Hoover Dam!! You know for years scientists have wondered... "Can you make grown men and women weep tears of joy by playing Marty Robbins “Big Iron”? And the answer is... YES. You can, as long as it's proceeded by seven Jingle Jangle Jingles. And on the other hand... when we went back... Holy Shit! "Big Iron" fades out...it's dead quiet... I GOT SPURS THAT JINGLE JANGLE JINGLE!!! People went fucking insane! No one could handle it! No one could handle it! And they were surrounded by this like seemingly indifferent staff, that was just like "Yep, same shit as always". They unplugged Mr. New Vegas after ELEVEN plays and THAT was the best meal I've ever had.

If you still haven't been asked, I'd love to know "28. Favorite work you wrote this year" & "29. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year" for the Ao3 wrapped!
28 -- Favorite work you wrote this year?
i have a lot of works im really fond of, and my favourite has yet to be posted, but my favourite posted fic is In The Town Of Agua Fria (Rode A Stranger One Fine Day). its a cowboy au and im rly proud of it 😈 (also as i was searching it up to link it i found out, much to my surprise, that i am not the only unhinged person to hear a country song from the fifties and immediately apply it to the blorbos. it was, of course, a supernatural fan to do it first lmao.)
29 -- Favorite line/passage you wrote this year?
i have a lot of fave passages but i was rereading some of my older stuff recently and i remembered this one that i'm rly proud of:
“I left so you could stay!”
“I didn’t want to stay without you!”
Lance’s chest is heaving, and tears blur his vision. Keith looks shocked, mouth dropped open and eye blown wide. “I didn’t want to stay without you,” Lance repeats through a sob. “But you left, and I didn’t have a choice. You left me, and then so did everyone else, and I was alone, and you left me.”
“Lance,” Keith whispers, close to tears himself.
Lance breath hitches, and he can barely speak over the lump in his throat. “I never wanted you to leave. I would have followed you, but I knew you didn’t want me to. You needed to figure something out on your own, and I did my best to accept that, but you broke my heart, Keith. There was nothing I wanted or needed more than to be at your side but I wasn’t worthy of you.”
“Lance,” Keith begs again, reaching over to cup his face. “You were always worthy, okay? Always. You never had to earn my respect, or fight for a place at my side. It was always yours to take. We’re equals. There’s no one I need more than you. When I left… I was struggling. I was afraid. I was afraid of my past and my future and I was afraid of what I wanted to be with you. Of what I already was with you. I didn’t know how to handle myself, and when you came to me worried about five lions and six paladins I thought I had a solution. But I was wrong. I was scared and I made the wrong choice. But,” Keith wipes Lance’s tears with his thumbs, pressing their foreheads together. “I want to fix things. You and me. I’ll do anything, Lance. Anything to earn back your trust, your love.”
“You don’t have to do anything,” Lance sobs. “You just have to stay.”
Keith cradles Lance’s head to his chest, and he goes willingly, clutching Keith’s shirt in clenched fists. “I’ll stay,” he promises, petting Lance’s hair as he cries. “For the rest of my life, until the end of my days, Lance McClain, I will stay with you.”
from this ask game! send me asks bc i feel like a celebrity

Big Iron
I love the song Big Iron by Marty Robbins so I wrote a thing that’s based on the first part of the song. Westerrnnsss.
The sun had barely risen above the horizon when the dust was kicked up on the trail leading to Agua Fria. Atop a strawberry roan Appaloosa sat a man, a wide brimmed hat on his head and a dark poncho about his shoulders. He rode in silence towards the town, only the sound of the horse’s hooves striking the ground broke the hush.
The horse carried it’s rider through the south of town, passed residents that watched with wary eyes as the stranger surveyed the lay of the land. Eyes watched from the windows of the cantina as the stranger hitched his horse and jumped down with an ease that spoke of years in the saddle. He patted the creature, a handsome smile on his lips as he stroked his fingers through it’s mane.
Joe turned to the girl next to him and jerked a head in the direction of the stranger. “See that? That there’s a dangerous man. Tell the others to stay clear, y’hear me?”
She nodded once and looked the stranger up and down. He was handsome, that was certain, but the gun on his hip revealed as he lifted his poncho was a warning clear as day. “Think he’s an outlaw?” Felina asked gently. Outside she saw two men come out from the bank to see the stranger, another from the general store.
“Loose and runnin’ that’s for sure,” Joe replied in a low tone. “Reckon he’s got some business to attend to with that thing on his hip.”
The stranger stepped into the cantina and all conversation ceased. His spurs jangled faintly, in need of oil and care, as he walked across to the bar. Joe rushes over and took up his place behind the counter, waiting with bated breath for the man to speak. The stranger leaned on one elbow and dropped a couple of coins on the bar, asking in a low and smooth voice for a whiskey. Joe poured it out. The stranger lifted the glass with one long-fingered hand and knocked it back.
“I won’t be in town long but I’m hoping you can help me,” the man said quietly. “I’m looking for someone, an outlaw, goes by the name of Texas Red. He’s a wanted man and as an Arizona Ranger I’ve come to take him in.”
Joe stared at him a moment, mouth open in shock. Beside him Felina gasped and leaned forward, pressing against the man in an artful drape. “But he’s killed the last twenty men that’ve come for him!” She told him in a reedy voice.
He looked up, placed the glass delicately back onto the counter, and carefully pushed Felina away. “Well he ain’t killing me. I’m taking him in, dead or alive, and that’s all there is to it.” He jerked his head and dropped another coin on the bar. Joe filled it, watched as the amber liquid disappeared between the man’s lips. “Now… if you don’t know where he is, maybe you could point me to someone who does?”
Felina stepped back and gestured to the sparsely populated room - it was still too early for their usual patrons, the drunks and gamblers that would wander in from the street about ten o’clock. “You’ve told everyone who cares to know,” she answered, tugging her skirts up to step easily up on the rung of a stool. “Texas Red’ll hear soon enough, now that we all know.”
Underneath one of the windows, a street kid saw his chance. In a cloud of dust he ran off to find someone willing to pay for the information he had.

To the town of Agua Fria rode a stranger one fine day
Hardly spoke to folks around him, didn't have too much to say,

Big iron on his hip
It was early in the morning when he rode into the town

Twenty one would be the ranger with the big iron on his hip,

Now the morning passed so quickly and it was time for them to meet
It was twenty past eleven when they rode out in the street
Folks were watchin' from their windows,
Every body held their breath,
They knew this handsome ranger was about to meet his death,
About to meet his death
There was twenty feet between them
When they stopped to make their play
And the swiftness of the Ranger still talked about today
Texas Red had not cleared leather when a bullet fairly ripped
And the ranger's aim was deadly, with the big iron on his hip,
Big iron on his hip
It was over in a moment and the crowd all gathered 'round
There before them lay the body of the outlaw on the ground
Oh, he might have went on livin' but he made one fatal slip
When he tried to match the ranger with the big iron on his hip,
Big iron on his hip
Big iron, big iron,
Oh he tried to match the ranger with the big iron on his hip,
Big iron on his hip

To the town of Agua Fria rode a stranger one fine day Hardly spoke to folks around him, didn't have too much to say No one dared to ask his business, no one dared to make a slip For the stranger there among them had a big iron on his hip Big iron on his hip
It was early in the morning when he rode into the town He came riding from the south side slowly lookin' all around He's an outlaw loose and running, came the whisper from each lip And he's here to do some business with the big iron on his hip Big iron on his hip
In this town there lived an outlaw by the name of Texas Red Many men had tried to take him and that many men were dead He was vicious and a killer though a youth of 24 And the notches on his pistol numbered one and 19 more One and 19 more
