over on patreon Tama shouted 'shark' at me a bunch of times for the mermaid prompts, which obviously gets results.
goblin shark goblin Mitsu is here again to secure stray forbidden tomes that wander into terrestrial libraries, and this time she's brought the rest of her team.
Sagami is the frilled shark lady who's head of Protection, physical and mental. some cults do NOT want to give up their tomes and some tomes do NOT want to get got. she's basically here to punch assholes in cloaks so Mitsu can work and create wards against unnaturally occurring madness.
Rea, the greenland shark lady, is the team's advanced translator and sacrificial editor. she's still pretty young at only 152 but she should totally be dead by now, a fact which makes the branch of Sedna's Fingers that raised her pretty smug. she translates books with words as well as books where the concept of words (or books) becomes debatable, and whenever a Rough Draft shows up she makes sure it's like, physically tolerable before letting it come in contact with anyone else.
they’re 3 smart ladies just trying to do their jobs in this void eats sanity world.

Woah mama! I appreciate the traction of the first shark poll, so here is another for so many beloved friends who did not fit the first one! Shark fans,
I truly did have many of the species listed here in mind with the previous poll, I just did not have the space and had to prioritise some sharks I knew were longtime favourites! But worry not… no more! SHARK FANS COME GET YOUR JUICE!!!!
What shall I do with the info in the two polls? I dunno. Maybe make another poll with even more sharks? Maybe combine the winners and make them fight to the death? Who knows! Lets see.

The Sea Creature of the Day is the Frilled Shark!!!!!
man i know i say this about so many sea creatures but like... man these might be my favorite sharks. i love rhem so much. kinda like Coelacanths, frilled sharks are considered living fossils because of their anatomy which more so resembles certain ancient sharks rather than more modern sharks :3
vaguely creepy looking, but simultaneously adorable and so fucking cool 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Listen... I like her design a lot okay. Once I got a feel for her head shape, Yona is pretty fun to draw. She earned herself a spot in my neglected physical sketchbook even!

Daily fish fact #398
Frilled shark!
Judging by fossil evidence, ancestors of frilled sharks appeared to live in shallow water! However, due to being out-competed by other sharks, their current habitat is the deep sea, from 500 to 1 000 meters deep (1 640 to 3 280 feet). They've even been found as deep as 1 500 meters (4 921 feet)!

🦈Daily Shark Fact🦈:
The Frilled Shark's common name comes from its gills: Unlike all other sharks, which have separate gills, a frilled shark's first pair of gills go all the way across its throat; each pair is lined at the edges with red “fringe.” accompanying its 'fringe' this species has a mouth that is lined with 25 rows of backward-facing, trident-shaped teeth—300 in all. This is the shark that is believed to be the origin behind stories of sea monsters.
