Kill on Sight Orders

The Flash fam has a secret. Okay so they have a lot of secrets, but there's one above all others.

A kill on sight order.

In the worst possible future (one of them there's a lot), a beast named Phantom decimated the world. He took out the entire Justice League, the entire Justice League Dark, any and all small-time heroes that stood in his way. All of it. Everyone.

If they see Phantom as a kid, to prevent the slightest possible chance of Phantom being a thing, it's kill on sight. They all have anti-ghost weapons that can destroy a ghost's core, locked away in a secure facility that they can just run to and grab real quick to get it done.

None of them like it. None of them can risk it.

Bart stumbles into a town that doesn't exist, almost gets got by a ghost that managed to possess him, and gets saved by...Phantom.

A scrawny, teenage Phantom.

He's funny, makes puns, worries about if Bart got hurt or not-he's nothing like the Bad Phantom!

He's not gonna kill his new friend! No way, no how.

But he's gotta keep it a secret from the other Speedsters now, because he doesn't know who came up with that rule but they probably won't understand, and then he'll have a speedster fight on his hands, and no one wants that.

But the government keeps sending letters of complaint to Max, and Max keeps asking why the government is mad at Bart now, and Bart can't tell him "oh it's because there's this town that is off the record and a secret and also where phantom is and i broke in" because that'd rat Phantom out, and even if he didn't mention Phantom Max would want to investigate.

The mailman doesn't understand why his letters keep disappearing but he thinks it might have something to do with the Flash, because there's always a red blur.

i dont mean this in a hostile way at all, im just genuinely curious, but why is it a *bad* thing to (as that post puts it) have fandom brain? and only focus on shipping? i dont really understand why you should *have* to engage with a series a specific way /genuine question /light hearted you dont have to answer this at all, feel free to delete

It's not a bad thing, and you shouldn't have to engage with the canonical text of a piece of fiction if you don't want to.

It'd just be nice if there was like, a better way to separate the people who want to play ships with the characters without paying attention to the actual canon of the source material, and the people who want to ship characters and create fandom material that interacts and engages with the actual meaningful canon of the text.

It really sucks that the people who want to play paper-dolls with the images of characters have to see the stuff by people who want to seriously discuss the often ugly and unpleasant ideas that are in canon.

And it sucks the the people who want to seriously discuss and engage with the often ugly and unpleasant things in canon aren't able to separate out the stuff by the people who just want to play with paper dollies.

It sucks because it's hard to tell at a glance who is playing paper dolls, and who is trying to meaningfully engage with the text, and that very often leads to unfortunate infights and misunderstandings by people who are having two very different conversations.

I don't want to step on anybody's playtime or make people feel bad about playing imaginationland with characters from a series I like.

But I also don't want to be punished and hated on for actually interrogating the text of that series and the things that happen in it.

canvas: Does your OC have any scars, piercings, tattoos, or other markings? Do they display or cover them up at all?

this may not be a popular opinion, but i always felt like Tai wasn't one who was big on tattoos/piercings/any noticeable marks that would make him stand out from his brothers. he always knew he was a clone, he felt no shame in it, but he also felt no need to be separate from his brothers or so easily distinguished. he was simply another man made to order for the republic. the reason!! for this!! being that he never had reason to doubt the republic, the jedi, etc etc. he trusted them, he served them, and that was that. and then came the day that his usefulness ran out. he was injured in the line of duty and it would have taken too much effort and too many resources to help him, so the empire kicked him out onto the streets. and that was when he started to feel all that resentment, all the fear and the confusion. because he had always been a good soldier, he had always followed orders, even the ones that his heart told him were wrong, and look at what it got him. however, i've decided that maybe Tai did carve a little wave motif into the inside of one of his pauldrons once he found himself homeless. a subtle reminder of who he is, something he didn't come to appreciate until it was too late.
