been into scents lately n looking for some nice androgynous smells SO i picked up the le labo discovery pack and am trying the scents slowly... going to record my thoughts here:

#1 - another 13 - LOVEEE. very androgynous, imo more masculine leaning. strong, long lasting. reminds me of marble fruit from boy smells somehow? i love smells that remind me a bit of incense

#2 - rose 31 - delicate, but also has a kind of... complex depth.. i dont usually care much for traditionally "feminine" / flowery smells esp rose but i do rly like this one & find it light and pretty unobtrusive but still has a lasting pleasant smell

#3 - santal 33 - granted just put this one on my skin so i havent given it much time to settle but too powdery for my liking. smells too much like.. hmm.. paper.. perhaps an old scroll.. dunno not a fan!!!

i feel like i always hear conflicting things on whether fragrance changes with aging like one explanation i saw for it is the fragrance itself isn't altered and instead you are just picking up different perceptions of it over time BUT i just can't see how that's the case with perfumes i tried a few times, shelved because i didn't like them, then found they had changed when i tried them again

#commodity milk was like this #when i first got it it was JUST spice #then i decided to give it another try months later and i can actually smell the milk and tonka notes now #and i like it a lot?! #and i do usually give fragrances multiple chances under multiple conditions like #right out of the mail vs rested a day #freshly clean skin vs not #etc #and usually those things don't change the experience nearly as much as just letting a bottle sit for months

almost all of the body products i use have either been reformulated or are out of stock in my area and i am so tired of having to find new products to use.
